The air around the group seemed to go still the moment that Shoutmon's stomach growled. The dragon Digimon could practically feel the others glaring daggers at him, Kaito especially. After a pause, the howling of an infected Digimon could be heard in the distance, although it wasn't close enough by. Shoutmon was just impressed his stomach's noise was audible from that far away, unless that infected in particular just had super hearing.
But that wasn't the zombie that they had to worry about at the moment.
Loud clunking sounds were making its way over to the source of the noise. Whatever was making those footsteps was undoubtedly heavy. Whatever hunger Shoutmon was feeling was quickly replaced by a nauseous fearful feeling. It was making its way towards the group in a straight line as well, knocking down many trees on its path. Shoutmon instinctively summoned his mic staff while Gem's eyes mimicked his mother's with that signature death glare.
Two glowing orange dots could then be seen from behind the foliage as whatever this thing was revealed itself. Everyone's jaw dropped and Shoutmon almost dropped his staff when they saw what used to be Data standing before them. He was infected and torn apart, missing his eyes and his right arm, and for some reason he... didn't seem to register them immediately at first. Shoutmon's eyes started to tear up.
Data... no...
Rush then whispered something in response, causing the zombified Data to immediately turn his head towards the group and charge right towards them. It was this moment that caused Adrian to figure out Data's weakness: he was as blind as a bat. Sakura tried to trip Data, but he was still relentlessly charging towards Rush in particular.
"Adrian! You gotta Digivolve me, now!" Shoutmon yelled out. A moment passes, and nothing happens. "Adrian?"
"I-I can't," Adrian said as he looked down at his Digivice, which only displayed static on the screen. "Literally, I can't! The Digivice is still offline! It went offline the moment you turned."
"So I still got the virus inside of me and I can't fight?! Damn it all!"
And then Rush evolved. But he didn't evolve to any form that Adrian, Shoutmon, or Gem had ever heard about before. His body was glitching out before it was enveloped in a vortex of flames, revealing some kind of orange butterfly-knight Digimon. The energy this Digimon was giving off felt VERY familiar to Adrian and Shoutmon.
It was the same energy that Stone gave off.
"Hana, what is that?" Adrian asked, backing away slightly from MorphoKnightmon.

“No, no, no, no, no…!’ Hana whispered in panic, too focused on MorphoKnightmon to even register Adrian’s attempt to talk to her.
“That… thing is a parasite that latches onto Digimon in order to use them as a vessel. I am only here now because Lady Hana and her friends freed me from his control in the past.” Kaito explained in Hana’s place. “But I do not know how he can manifest here when we freed Rush from his control, as well.”
“Oh, I can answer that one.” MorphoKnightmon replied with a dark chuckle as he stepped on the undead Data’s back, using his Ultimate-level strength to pin the Guardromon to the ground. “Poor, little Data here was focused on ripping his little brother out of me that nobody even realized that he pulled a piece of me out with him, hiding and waiting until this very moment. What you see before you is merely a small fraction of the original MorphoKnightmon, latched onto poor Rush’s core until the day I can track down and reunite with my greater self to be whole once more.”
MorphoKnightmon looked down at the undead Data’s pinned form and scoffed at it dismissively. “You know, I was hoping for a good fight when I eventually managed to worm my way into control, but this is just disappointing. This is why I hate dealing with undead. They’re always so much lesser than what they used to be, to the point that it’s not even fun to kill them.”
“Do you have a point you’re trying to make, or do you just like the sound of your own voice?” Sakura growled out irritation, putting away her yo-yos while pulling out a baseball bat.
“Ha! You’re a feisty one! I can respect that.” MorphoKnightmon, the praise causing Sakura to scoff in disgust. “My point is that I’ll play along with all of you for now and help stop this outbreak at the source. Can’t have a good fight if everyone’s reduced to mindless beasts, after all. After all, what else do you all have to stop the horde? A low-level ninja, a delinquent, a half-infected Rookie that can't digivolve, and a literal child? You're going to need my help, since little Rush won't be coming back out for a while.”

"Oh yeah, no, because a virus that reanimates Digimon corpses and a Stone appearance just wasn't enough, apparently," Shoutmon said with a bitter tone in his voice, clearly fed up by the way things in general were going. He did just witness the zombified version of one of his good friends come after them before MorphoKnightmon popped in, after all.
While he had placed his foot on the zombie Data to keep him from getting free, Morpho explained that when Rush was apparently pulled out of the parasite (something that Adrian, Shoutmon, and Gem were all very confused by,) a piece of the parasite went with him, laying dormant in Rush until he can reunite with his greater self. "I don't like you," Gem said, flying up to look at MorphoKnightmon in the eye. "Bring Rush back!"
As much evil vibes as he was giving off at the moment, MorphoKnightmon could only look at the struggling zombie Guardromon with disappointment and disgust, craving a real combat challenge instead of fighting the undead. He claimed that he would play nice with everyone at the moment until they could find a way to reverse the outbreak. In the process, MorphoKnightmon did make a good point about the group needing him. With Shoutmon not able to evolve, the Digimon of the group were far too weak to make any sort of difference.
However, Shoutmon couldn't help but look away in shame when his flaw of being half-infected was pointed out. At least if Rush had cured Data, then Data would've been locked in at least his champion form. His fists clenched, the red dragon not able to shake the feeling of shame, regret, uselessness...
"Sakura, I'm going to need your help here," Shoutmon said as he walked up to the struggling Data. "I'm sorry about this..." Shoutmon whispered as he ripped off Data's remaining arm, tossing it aside. "Sakura, I need you to make some vines so we can tie up Data's... furnace. I think that's the closest thing to a mouth he has."
"Are you planning to keep him tied up somewhere, then?" Adrian asked.
"Either that or keep him on a leash or something. Just... anything other than killing him."

The sight of Gem trying to intimidate Morpho into giving Rush back control again actually made the orange knight pause for a moment, as if the knight was surprised that the Gammamon was trying to command someone several levels higher than him. The brief confusion quickly passed, however, as Morpho simply laughed in Gem's face.
"Oh, that's rich. A little kid thinks he can tell me what to do!" Morpho exclaimed as he wiped a tear from his eye before his tone immediately shifted into one of total seriousness. "Listen, kid. I only listen to those who actually have the strength to back their words up. The little girl and her partners? They beat me in a proper fight, so I'll follow her lead for now. You, however? You're basically just a bug to me right now."
MorphoKnightmon pushed Gem out of his face, signifying that he wanted the Gammamon to leave him alone, before examining his hand and clenching it into a fist. Although he wouldn't say this out loud, the Gammamon would still eventually get his wish for Rush to come back out. MorphoKnightmon may have the wheel for now, but he was too weak to keep it forever. Eventually, he'll lose his grip and Rush will take his body back, but that didn't mean that the knight wouldn't try to settle this zombie mess with what time he had left. Hopefully, it'll be at least a little fun so as to make this excursion worthwhile for the blood knight.
Meanwhile, Sakura would go help Shoutmon as he tried to neutralize the zombified Data's ability to attack them. Even knowing that the zombie probably didn't feel pain, the site of Shoutmon ripping her friend's arm off still disturbed Sakura greatly. "I can try and tie him up with my yo-yos, although I might need them later (not to mention he could possibly burn through them anyways. Maybe I can just...?"
Sakura tapped her foot on the ground, causing a large vine to sprout up around Data's prone body. Sakura tried having the vine bind the undead Guardromon in place... only for the vine to act with a mind of its own and yeet the crippled android far out of sight. "Oops. Ah, well. At least he can't do much without arms."
Meanwhile, during all of this, Hana had moved over to Kaito's location and was hugging the Tuwarmon as tightly as she could. This whole mess was getting to be too much for her to emotionally bear, and the stoic Tuwarmon was more than happy to let her use him as a rock to keep her self anchored. Sakura: -Flower Power: Sakura stomps on the ground, causing a massive thorny vine to grow out of the ground, grab an enemy, and yeet an enemy into the ground or a wall. This vine WILL leave a gaping hole in the floor if used indoors. 1 post CD. 0/1

Despite Morpho not taking Gem seriously, the Gammamon never once lost eye contact with the being that was possessing Rush. If anything, Gem had adopted the scary glare that his mother was most known for; a glare that still sent shivers down Shoutmon's own spine. His fists clenched as photon energy radiated through his arms, his anger growing as MorphoKnightmon called him nothing more than a bug.
"I wouldn't push him if I were you," Adrian said, not intimidated even a bit by MorphoKnightmon's tough words. He even had the courage to stand in between him and Gem. "The only reason we have even a vague clue of where we're going is because of him."
"Huh?" Gem asked, tilting his head a bit. Of course, Adrian didn't elaborate any further on that.
The sight of Shoutmon casually ripping off Data's arm was indeed disturbing, especially for Adrian and Gem, who knew that Shoutmon wouldn't do such a thing to one of his friends so thoughtlessly. Perhaps it was a minor side-effect of the virus that was still in his system. When Shoutmon asked Sakura for help with tying up Data, she stomped on the ground to make a vine grow out of it. The vine grabbed Data... then yeeted him up into the sky, far out of sight.
". . ." ". . ." ". . ."
Well... that could've gone better. The air was silent for a few seconds as the group processed what had just happened.
"...that's going to kick us in the ass later," Adrian said, sighing as he placed his hands on his hips. The entire situation was starting to wear everyone down more and more, and it looked like Hana was unable to take much more of his horrible night. Not to mention another problem the group had: food and water.
"I'm hungry," Shoutmon said. He was clutching his stomach with his bite-free arm, said stomach growling like an earthquake was going on inside. "I might not be able to Digivolve, but I still need something if I'm going to be able to help at all."
"I'm thirsty, too..."
"I didn't pack any in our Infini-Store," Adrian said, considering he didn't think a simple rescue mission would take this long. "There wasn't any food in the cabin we stayed at, either." Looking around, he also didn't see any trees that were growing food on them. Then again, it was dark and his vision wasn't the best. "Does anyone see a Diginoir or a meat apple tree anywhere?"

At the mention of food, Hana took off her backpack and rummaged around inside it for a minute. "Uh, I have two bottles of water and a couple of oranges. That's all I've got, I'm afraid."
At least Hana would be able to pass a bottle to Gem so that the Gammamon could quench his thirst. Unfortunately, Kaito didn't have any food on him either, and Sakura's plant-growing abilities weren't any good for growing food. With no obvious solution to the hunger problem plaguing the group, MorphoKnightmon sighed as he snapped his fingers. A star-shaped portal opened up in the sky as a dozens of Diginowa packages rained down upon the group, carpeting the ground with the naturally-prepackaged food.
"Ugh, there. You guys owe one, so be grateful I bothered to help you insects." MorphoKnightmon growled out, ripping open one of the Diginowa packages to munch on the crunchy grains inside. "Don't expect me to act as a delivery guy again."
After seeing MorphoKnightmon eat the food he summoned without keeling over, the others soon followed suit. Kaito, in particular, froze briefly as he contemplated how he'd eat the food, before deciding to swallow his pride. With a sigh, the Tuwarmon reverted back into his as-of-yet unseen Ludomon form in order to eat his meal. Between bites, the Ludomon had a perpetually grumpy look on his face as he stared daggers at everyone except Hana. "You will all tell nobody of this, or else it will be the last thing you do."
As Hana and her friend's stared at Kaito after his threat, MorphoKnightmon lasted exatcly 5 seconds before he burst out laughing. "Pft... ahahahaha! He looks like a freaking teddy bear!"

"Better than nothing," Adrian said to Hana, referring to the bottles of water and oranges, "but that's not going to be enough to feed all of us." Adrian would then grab the water bottle and split it between himself, Shoutmon, and Gem while he tried to think of another way for the group to be fed. Suddenly, MorphoKnightmon had snapped his fingers, and a star-shaped portal materialized above the group, where a whole heap of Diginoir packages fell from.
"Whoa-ho-ho-ho, that's the most Diginoir I've ever seen!" Shoutmon cheered. His and Gem's eyes practically turning into stars as they both ran over to the pile and started digging in at their usual rate. Adrian, however, glared at MorphoKnightmon after he called everyone "insects." It would've been preferred if he kept his mouth shut after doing something out-of-character like that, at least in Adrian's eyes.
As Adrian picked up a can of Diginoir, Kaito would then suddenly de-digivolve back to his Rookie form, which looked a lot like a teddy bear that was wearing gold and white armor similar to a Tuwarmon's. As he ate, he threatened everyone there to not tell a single soul that they ever saw him like that. Adrian, Shoutmon, and Gem all stopped and stared at him with wide eyes; even as a Ludomon, the guy was terrifying.
Well, terrifying to everyone but MorphoKnightmon, who laughed and called him a teddy bear. The only reason he was still alive was because at this point, he was far more powerful than Kaito could ever have hoped to be.
"I don't like you," Gem said to MorphoKnightmon with an unexpected amount of intimidation. Morpho could also see how Gem's eyes changed to a far, far more intimidating glare, one that would've even struck a nerve even with him. A glare just like the one his mother and his brothers were able to give.
The group had to eat fast, because who knew when the Zombiemons were going to come back. And come back they did, as that familiar moaning could be heard after everyone had finished and were just beginning to pack up. Adrian looked down the path they had just come from, and slight limping shadows could be seen in the distance.
"Come on, let's get going," Adrian said to the others. They still had a bit of a way to go before they could hone in on that disturbing presence that the Digimon can sense from the forest. Once they reach that point, a chance at finding the source of the infection was all but guaranteed.

As MorphoKnightmon laughed at Kaito, Sakura decided that she'd had enough of this jerk's behavior. While the scarlet knight was distracted, she walked up to him and slugged him in the face with all of her strength. "Shut up, you jerk!"
MorphoKnightmon's helmet ended up spinning around from the force of the blow, and after he turned it back around, it would be clear to see that his formerly white eyes were now a familiar shade of blue. "Ow, what was that for?!"
"Rush? That is you in control now, right?" Hana asked cautiously. That sounded like Rush's voice coming out of MorphoKnightmon's mouth, but she wasn't taking any chances.
"... Yeah, why?" Rush answered in confusion as he rubbed his sore head, only to pause when he felt the unfamiliar horns on his helmet. He quickly started examining his current form to confirm that he was currently in the body of MorphoKnightmon. "Ooooh, that's why. Huh. Didn't even know I could use this form."
Rush wouldn't have much time to process this, though, as the sound of nearby moaning and shuffling would quickly spur everyone into packing up and heading out (with Kaito quickly transforming back into his Tuwarmon form). Hopefully, there would soon be some kind of sign that they're heading in the right direction so they can finally end this nightmare.
Meanwhile, Data's forgotten severed arm would slowly drag itself back towards the main body of the zombified Data, where it would crawl up its body and re-attach itself to the undead Guardromon's arm stump. The undead Data, seeming to still have at least some limited degree of intelligence unlike the Rookie-level undead around it, would flex the newly-reattached arms fingers before realizing that it's other arm was still gone. As the upper half of an undead Kokuwamon dragged itself along the forest floor, the scraping sound of its movements would allow the blind Data to reach for it and attach its damaged waist to his remaining stump like some form of twisted, zombified hand puppet.
Seemingly satisfied by the... crude repair, the undead Data would continue marching towards the uninfected survivors with the rest of the horde. MorphoKnightmon: -Dimensional Gate: (1/3)

Adrian, Shoutmon, and even Gem were all thankful that someone, in this case Sakura, worked up the courage to slap that awful MorphoKnightmon right across the face. That caused the helmet to spin around, even. However, it was soon discovered that it was no longer the rude MorphoKnightmon that was in control; it was Rush, meaning that Sakura had just slapped Rush in the face. "Wait, they can swap back and forth?" Shoutmon asked after Hana confirmed that it was indeed Rush. "Either that or he saw the slap coming, so he swapped just to avoid it," Adrian said. The phenomenon gave him thoughts about how best to deal with Stone when he emerged. Maybe it was possible for him and Gem to trade places like Rush with MorphoKnightmon? There wouldn't be all too much time to ponder that, however. The horde was getting closer; they had to pack it up and keep on going. The sights didn't get that much better as the group walked. Blood stains and chopped of limbs stained the grassy ground more often than not. Gem opted to not talk much, just staying close to Adrian the whole time. There was even a point where Shoutmon turned his head and saw a very gruesome sight: an infected, rotted Pulsemon using its teeth to rip out the insides of a very dead Muchomon. Shoutmon could only wince as he looked away, wanting to get as far away from the scene as possible. Thankfully, the Pulsemon didn't notice the group in the slightest, as its meal was too enticing. Noises could then be heard out in the distance. Adrian would be the first to cautiously check it out, where he'd find himself on top of an average sized hill. Down below was a path that Adrian and Shoutmon would know led to Rosewood... and on that road were dozens of infected Digimon, shambling together as a group towards the city. "Damn it, they're heading for Rosewood. If those zombie Digimon make it there, the city's going to fall."
"All our friends will end up as glorified take-out dinners," Shoutmon said, a hint of fear in his voice. "Owen, Skye, Rory... we're running out of time here. Come on."
With the realization that they were now racing the clock, Shoutmon was even more determined than before to find the source of this virus. The only clue the group had was the fact that the Digimon could sense the digital signature of the virus. The stronger it felt, the closer they were to finding the source. And against all odds, finding the source is exactly what they did. There was a run down shack in the middle of the forest, with only three of the walls still standing as one of the walls had fallen down due to neglect. Inside this shack was a chemistry table with all sorts of vile looking ingredients in a variety of different containers, as a Mummymon worked away at this chemistry table, talking to itself as it worked.
"Trial runs going perfectly... virus will reach Rosewood by sunrise..."

"Well, whatever happened, we can probably figure it out later," Sakura stated as the group walked along, wringing out the hand she'd just punched MorphoKnightmon with as she walked (as it turns out, punching a metal helmet hurts!).
"I know that I'm obviously missing something here, but what she said!" Rush agreed, visibly disturbed as the group passed the undead Pulsemon chowing down on a dead Muchomon. "Ooooh, I think I might throw up."
But even that sight would pale in comparison to what Adrian would find while investigating some noises up ahead: a large horde of the undead, numbering in the dozens as they slowly marched towards Rosewood.
"Oh god..." Hana whispered, covering her mouth at the horrifying sight. "W-what do we do? we can't stop them all AND find what's behind all of this!"
But as Sakura watched the horde, she knew what she had to do. Yo-yos in hand, she stepped forward before turning back to the group with a sad smile. "You guys go. Find the sick monster responsible for this. I'll deal with the horde. I don't know if I can stop them all, but I can sure as heck slow them down and buy you time."
And with that, she quickly flew off towards the shambling horde, launching he yo-yos at the nearest zombies as soon as they were in range.
Even though Sakura had proven she could handle herself pretty well, at least for a little while, it still hurt Hana and Rush to watch another person they care about risk their lives. At least it wouldn't take too much longer for them to find the source of the infection: a Mummymon working out of a decrepit shack that was falling apart. And judging by Mummymon's comments, it seems that he knew exactly what he was unleashing upon the Digital World.
"Well, I suppose we should go say hello, shouldn't we?" Hana asked rhetorically, the strain in her voice showing just how close she was to her limit on just how much of this nightmare she could handle. Naturally, Rush obliged with all the politeness Mummymon likely deserved at this point: by throwing his sword at Mummymon hard enough for the blade to embed itself into the decrepit wall an inch from Mummymon's head. Sakura and Rush both use basic attacks against the horde and Mummymon's wall.

The horde of zombified Digimon could be seen marching down the path to Rosewood. With a horde this large, all it'll take is a simple bite of a high level Digimon for it to be over for the city. Adrian had confidence that they could stop it all before they reached Rosewood, but Sakura seemed to have other plans. She announced that she'd deal with the horde and then dashed off before anyone could intervene. "Sakura, come back! Damn it!" Shoutmon yelled as he watched Sakura head towards the zombies. He didn't know Sakura well, but that didn't stop him from trying to hold back tears that came from seeing yet another Digimon sacrifice themselves. "When we find the one responsible for all of this, they're gonna fucking pay."
"Dad..."
And so the group had no choice but to continue onward. Thankfully, it wouldn't be long before they encountered the source of the infection, a Mummymon making the virus in his run down shed who knew exactly the kind of evil he was trying to unleash. The limit Hana had reached for this bull crap was the same limit Adrian, Shoutmon and Gem had reached as well. Rush did the sensible thing and threw a sword right at Mummymon, the blade hitting the wall an inch away from the Mummymon's head. Yet Mummymon didn't even bother to flinch. "Heheheheheh... so I've been found out..."
Slowly, Mummymon turned his body around to face the group, the light of the moon making him much easier to see. The usual bandages known to surround a Mummymon were in short supply and in disrepair, revealing all the bleeding and decaying parts of his body to the group. His face in a permanent contorted and sinister smile, his eyes bright orange and his mouth oozing with green liquid, which coated his sharp teeth like a dye. "Oh, god..." Adrian muttered, feeling his chest tighten from the immense stress just from looking at this diseased Digimon. "You want to stop The Change, stop me from completing my life's work... is that it?" Mummymon asked, his voice completely manic. "The Digital World is poisoned, and I created the cure. Now the Digimon I have given the gift are much more than they could EVER imagine to be!"
"Gift?! You're turning us all into monsters!"
"We were already monsters, you red thing! I've done nothing but improved them! Now they're stronger, faster, and much more combat ready! The Undead type will finally reign across the Digital World like it was meant to, with me as its savior and its emperor! Once Rosewood receives the gift, it's all over for you!"
"You're wrong. If Rosewood falls, the other civilizations of the Digital World would put an end to it all, meaning lives will have been lost for nothing."
"Not if they don't KNOW it falls! See, I don't intend to let news of my gift be revealed too early. Once Rosewood falls, then each city will receive a welcoming gift in the form of 'enhanced' produce, which will look like any ordinary food to the average Digimon. Then, the Digimon who consume them will be blessed with my gift, all at the same time!"
"Then I'm guessing you intend to kill us, if you're telling us your master plan?"
BLAM! A bullet suddenly shoots the ground, right in the center of the group.
"Sniper! Take cover!" Adrian called out as he grabbed onto Gem, with them taking cover behind a tree stump with Shoutmon.
"Oh yes, Scopemon took rather well to my gift! And so did that Guardromon... using a Kokuwamon as a replacement arm, I couldn't have done any better myself! Ahahahahahaha!"

As Mummymon turned around, revealing that he was infected by his own viral creation, Hana would throw up onto the ground after taking a single look at his decayed, mutilated body. What was worse, though, was Mummymon's end goal: after infecting Rosewood, he was going to ship out infected produce to spread the virus all across the Digital World.
"Yeah, I can see two problems with your master plan, 'Dr. Wesker'. One, you won't be the emperor of ANYTHING, because I'm going to kill you, cut your corpse into pieces, and burn the pieces so you can't come back." Rush taunted, his sword vanishing and reappearing his hand with a mere flick of his wrist.
"And two? You're virus isn't as unstoppable as you think. One night here, and I've already managed to almost fully cure an infected individual." Rush continued, pointing at the bite mark on Shoutmon's arm. "Case in point, one almost-cured Shoutmon, right here. We just have to kill you and contain those already infected until I can finish the- HOLYCRAP!"
Okay, so Mummymon wasn't alone here, as he had the undead Scopemon supporting him as a sniper, with Kaito narrowly managing to keep Hana from getting hit by the bullet while everyone else took cover behind some trees. The Tuwarmon glanced over in the direction the bullet came from, and saw the glint of Scopemon's rifle in a tree. Knowing the sniper's location, Kaito made a quick handsign before he started sinking into his own shadow. "Digi Ninpou: Shadow Strike!"
After fully disappearing from sight, the Tuwarmon would then emerge from the shadows directly behind the undead Scopemonas he moved to carve up the sniper from behind with his kusarigama.
Rush initially took cover with Hana and the others, but Mummymon's comment about Data "taking to his gift" made the MorphoKnightmon literally AND figuratively see red as he charged at Mummymon with his sword at the ready. "I'LL KILL YOU!" *Blam*
The sound of a gunshot immediately got the zombified Data's attention, the undead Guardromon immediately charging in the direction of the gunshot like a speeding locomotive. As he charged, he knocked down anything that got in his path until he finally smashed through the walls of Mummymon's dilapidated shack and ended up bodyslamming his own brother while his ruined face emitted a garbled electronic screech (the only sound it was still capable of producing).
Rush was quickly sent flying, landing on his back about twenty feet. He groaned as he got back onto his feet. "Ow. Did anyone catch the license plate on the truck that hit... me... Jesmon Christ Mode."
The sight of his brother's mutilated and corrupted body made Rush pause. despite knowing how dangerous Data was in this state, Rush just... couldn't bring himself to attack his own brother. But Rush did have a crazy idea to try. Maybe something familiar might draw out a spark of whatever was left of Data's mind beneath the virus. "Nothing to lose by trying. Execute: Slide Evolution. MorphoKnightmon to Eosmon!"
With a blue flash, Rush's body shrunk down into the compact form of his usual Ultimate form. "Bro, if there's anything left of you in there, please... don't do this! I don't want to have to fight my own brother!"
The zombified Data tilted its head for moment, almost as if was attempting to contemplate what Rush had said, before ultimately screeching and charging at Rush again.
"*Sigh* I'm so sorry for this, bro..." Rush whispered, hands clenching and tears dripping from his eyes as he let out a localized, ear-piercing sonic scream that bombarded Data head-on. The sonic attack made the undead Guardromon backa away while clutching at its ears in pain. For a creature that was utterly dependent on its hearing to navigate, the sonic attack was both excruciating and highly disorienting.
From her cover, Hana was utterly frozen in shock and completely heartbroken as she watched her own partners being forced to fight each other.

Mummymon wasn't really phased by the threat of death, for he believed himself and those he "gifted" to be beyond such a thing by that point. What really got his attention, though, is when it was mentioned that Shoutmon had once been infected, but then was cured by Rush himself. His orange eyes widened with malice as he glared at Rush. "You... took away his gift?! I'll kill you! I'LL KILL YOU! I'LLKILLYOUI'LLKILLYOUI'LLKILLYOUI'LLKILLYOUI'LLKILLYOU!"
While the group hid from Scopemon's gunshots, Rush would jump out and charged right at Mummymon with his sword drawn. Sadly, this was shown to be a pretty bad move as Mummymon pulled out his own mini-gun-like weapon, Obelisk, although as it turned out, he didn't need to fire it. A zombified Data charged in shortly after, ramming right into the MorphoKnightmon and letting out a garbled electronic screech. "No way..." Adrian muttered as he looked at the monster that used to be Data. He couldn't even begin to imagine how horrible Hana was feeling at this moment. "Data..." Shoutmon muttered. His fist clenched tightly, as to see the being he considered a good friend in such an awful state filled his digicore with a fury of which he had never felt before. He watched as Rush tried, and failed, to reach out to his brother, only to fire a sonic scream attack at the zombie which managed to discombobulate him. Shoutmon used that opportunity to run up to Data to make his attempt to appeal to him.
"Data, please, you have to fight it!" Shoutmon cried out. "It happened to me, too, and I know how you're feeling. You don't recognize anyone, you don't remember yourself, all you feel is the hunger and the pain, but you have to look deeper! Remember Hana, your partner who you're sworn to protect? How are you going to protect her if you're going around eating other Digimon, huh?!
And while all this was going on, Mummymon was watching with a smile on his face, as if he knew how this would all turn out in the end. And Gem looked like he had reached his limit.
"I've had enough of this shit," Gem suddenly said, his voice changing more into Stone's before he evolved into Stone, the GulusGammamon now floating above the group. He wouldn't have to worry about Scopemon thanks to Kaito, at least. Stone fixed his gaze on the Mummymon and glared. "Why don't you and me go somewhere private?" Stone threatened Mummymon, using his speed to grab onto the crazed lunatic and drag him elsewhere to fight.

As Kaito swung his kusarigama down upon Scopemon, the undead sni[per spun around to try and block the attack with its rifle. This action may have saved Scopemon from losing its head, but it resulted in Kaito's weapons slicing the rifle in two and knocking Scopemon out of the tree. After landing on its back, Scopemon quickly scrambled to its feet and growled up at Kaito.
"Bul...let Shoooterrr," Scopemon growled out, firing the machine guns in its hands up at Kaito.
The Tuwarmon leaped down from the tree to avoid the initial volley of bullets and began running circles around the zombified sniper, his Punpun Armor releasing bursts of compressed air to help propel him. Eventually, Scopemon ran out of bullets and had to reload, giving Kaito an opportunity to close in and counterattack.
"Mantis Dance!" Kaito called out, combining his Mantis Arms into a double-ended scythe as he franticly twirled it around to slash away at Scopemon. The numerous blows left numerous gashes on Scopemon's body as the zombie was forced backward by the relentless assault.
Meanwhile, after Shoutmon made his speech to try and get the undead Data to remember who he was, the zombified Guardromon would turn towards Shoutmon and tilt its head to the side slightly, as if trying to process what Shoutmon was saying. after this brief hesitation, the undead Guardromon would slowly reach out its non-Kokuwamon-zombie arm, as if it was offering a friendly hand to Shoutmon... only to try and slam its fist into Shoutmon's face. Despite still retaining some degree of intelligence after being infected, the virus still held too much control over Data's mind for mere words to sway him.
"Gah, come on! I thought we were getting through to him!" Rush complained, only to get sidetracked when Gem... no, Stone digivolved into a GulusGammamon and dragged Mummymon off to fight him alone. "Wait, no! Come back! He's too dangerous to fight alone! You could get infected!"
Rush quickly shifted his gaze between the undead Data and Stone running off with Mummymon. "Ugh, I'll be back! Mirror Reflection!"
With that, Rush left behind two mirror clones of himself before flying off after Stone and Mummymon. The two clones would immediately get to work as a distraction, flitting around the zombified Data while taunting the undead Guardromon in order to lure him away from Shoutmon.

"Please, Data... please remember," Shoutmon pleaded with Data, wanting more than anything for him to be able to break through the stupid virus's control. For a moment, Shoutmon believed that he was getting through to Data, as the Guardromon was slowly reaching out with his normal, non-Kokuwamon arm. Sadly, that belief was shattered when Data simply punched Shoutmon in the face instead, sending him crashing into the run down shack.
"Shoutmon!" Adrian cried out to his partner.
As Shoutmon struggled to get back onto his feet, tears could be seen running down his face. After everything that he and the others had gone through by this point, it was just now that the hopelessness of the situation was getting to him. "Data..." Shoutmon groaned, the green veins on his bite wound spreading starting to grow... but not without turning blue. The blue veins made their way to Shoutmon's neck, then his mouth, which started to cause his teeth to glow blue as well.
"FUCK ALL OF THIS SHIT!" Shoutmon suddenly yelled as he ran towards Data at full speed. He leaped up onto the decaying, rusting Guardromon and immediately sunk his teeth into that rusty metal body of his, almost as if he had become some kind of... well, anti-zombie, to put it lightly. And this wasn't a small bite, either; Shoutmon was refusing to let go, and he was biting Data as hard as he could. However, it was because of this that Data would start to feel his mind becoming clearer once again, his rusted and broken parts managing to heal themselves as well. The only thing left of the virus would be a series of blue veins coming from where Shoutmon had bit him.
Meanwhile, Stone was repeatedly punching Mummymon as the two of them flew off, ignoring Rush's pleas to go back. Stone didn't quite care about himself, if that meant he could punish this twisted necromancer a bit more. Mummymon was a level higher though, so he did eventually manage to break free from Stone's grasp and shoot at him with Obelisk, which struck Stone right in the chest and caused the GulusGammamon to crash land on the ground.
"Damn, that's smarts..." Stone growled as he rubbed where Mummymon had shot him.
"It's a shame I didn't find a way to transfer my gift through Obelisk here, but that's no worry," Mummymon said, pulling out a gun-style syringe with more of the green liquid inside. "While you're down, I'll apply it painlessly. A monster like you will tear the unbelievers apart in no time! No time! Notimenotimenotime!"
"You're a maniac," Stone said. He tried to stand back up, but the shot from Obelisk was going to take some time to recover from. "A maniac that's cruisin' to get his head ripped off."
"Maniac? Hell no. I'm a fucking genius. And soon, all of you will realize that this is what is best for the Digital World..."
