Gem was not having a good time right now. His day started ordinarily enough; he woke up at his house in Rosewood and was greeted by his parents, Shoutmon and Skye, Shoutmon's human partner Adrian, and his older brother Rory. His plan for the day was simple, as he was just going to go down and meet up with his friends Kohaku and Ruri just outside of Rosewood to hang out. It was a simple plan for a nice and beautiful day, where nothing could go wrong!
As Gem had yet to learn, Murphy's Law was alive and very strong. He felt something weird happen to him as he was flying through the nature-infused city with the sun hanging above. Then, as if by actual magic, that nature city was replaced by one more modern and futuristic, and what used to be day had turned to the dead of night. Gem stopped in place, mesmerized by the new pretty sights at first. He watched the city of Tokyo from the air, watching all the lights of the cars zoom by, as well as the lights of the city in general. Gem had never seen anything like it before. "Oooh... so pretty...!"
Of course, Gem had prior obligations so he wanted to go back and see his friends. He flew back to where he came from... except he was still in this weird city of lights? "Huh? Wh-why can't I go back?" Naturally, the Gammamon was getting confused and he was scared. Why did he end up here all of a sudden? And where WAS here? The first thing Gem thought was to fly down and ask a nearby Digimon for help. But as he flew closer to the ground, all he saw walking and driving around were humans of all different kinds. And if Gem remembered anything, it was this piece of advice from his father: "If we ever go to the human world, Gem, you gotta be sure to stay out of sight from the humans when your holosuit is turned off."
Was that where he was? The human world? Gem considered himself a good kid, and he didn't want to go against his dad's wishes. But there was nothing but humans here... where could he go? Where could he talk to? Gem was alone and he was scared, which was natural for being alone in an unfamiliar place. All he could do was fly around, hopefully find somewhere to stay or someone that could help him. Unfortunately, Gem couldn't find any other Digimon. The most he could find was a stray cat or two in the alleyways he searched, along with a bit of trash. And it was getting a bit cold, there was no way he could sleep out here. Eventually, he did find a giant building that didn't seem to have anyone in it. Unbeknownst to him, this building was none other than Shibuya Academy. He flew through the window of the middle school building and found himself in what looked like... an art room? An art room... with blankets. Upon seeing that, Gem immediately dashed towards a warm blanket and wrapped it around himself. Minutes later, he felt himself growing more and more unconscious until he was asleep...
"I hate this..."
When Gem woke up hours later, he found himself in a brightly lit room filled with a bunch of human children... the exact opposite of what Gem wanted. Thankfully, he was close enough to the door that he was able to slip out without any of the students noticing him. So that was a close call avoided. The rest of the day was filled with him staying out of sight from the humans while roaming the hallways, exploring the school to its fullest. It was so much different than his school back home, and it impressed him to no end. Even so, however, all Gem wanted to do was go back home. He was hungry, he was scared, and surely his friends and family back home had to be extremely worried about him by now. And that's when the dark thoughts started to plague his young little mind.
Would they be able to find him? Was there even a way for him to get back home? Was he going to be trapped here forever? Eventually these thoughts got to be too much for him, and he started crying while hiding from the humans in a corner. It wouldn't be too noticeable unless you were right nearby at the time, but yeah... whoever would notice this little Gammamon crying would surely have their heart strings pulled by the scene. "Mommy... Daddy... Luneth... Rory... anyone... I wanna go home..."

...This is awkward, but how exactly would you go to school with a box on your side? Definitely not by the train that is. It was too jam packed and is certainly a bit too conspicious. But then again, he cannot... lift a seventy kilograms package by itself. it was such a distressing moment, one that Daichi had no idea what to do about when he... suddenly noticed that the best way to stay close to school and protection is to by staying in a dorm. He asked his mother for permission to stay in the dorm. His sister Lily definitely was vehemently against it, but his mother on the other hand... seem to exhale in disappointment and simply said "do what you wish, as long as you can keep your grade high."
Has their relationshop turned for the worse again? Who knows... But Daichi cannot afford to... go to Shibuki forest all day in case there's an emergency. Both Agumon X and his teacher, Lux Caldwell said that it was better for him to stay together with Geo... now Vishamon. Geo was... frankly, an anomaly. He have tried so many different method, to go to Digital World, to access the portal in the river... nothing worked. If anything, it's like Digital World rejected both of them. When Lux-sensei came up with several apps that might helped, such as Holosuit or even V-Pet function... they malfunctioned!
"...Well, unfortunately this is completely new... The best I can do is to send Geo's data sample to the researchers of my country. Is that fine with you, SHiki-kun?" was what Caldwell-sensei asked back then. It's been... three days? That's twenty one days in Digital World according to him... yet they still haven't cracked the code as of why Geo is like this..
"The preliminary scanning suggests that Geo is just like any other Digimon, albeit his signature data makeup seem to be reversed of those of a Gammamon, which is interesting. Ah, Gammamons are triceratopian looking Digimon with strong ties to the space. Vishamon meanwhile seem to be closely related to earth... Earth as planet that is. We kept finding new and new thing about Geo... However, at the same time we often got into some hitches. You can't believe how many securities in his data are, as if we're playing wth puzzles."
"Securities?"
"Yes, it's... something that all partnered Digimon have to prevent them from tampered by outside factors, but in his case, there are twice or thrice the amount, as if it's deliberately put to secure some sort of unknown factor inside rather than to prevent tampering from outside... I... can't really give you better explanation than that. All that I ask from you is to please be patient. We're doing our best."
"Well, uh... Geo, I think it's time for class..."
The Vishamon perked at the word "class" and walked up to something like a box. He swiftly entered the box, which is now packed with foods at it too.
"...Rules number 1!" "Always follows Daichi, until up to the third floor!"
"Rules number 2!" "Stay with Lux-sensei, and be polite! Don't bother him too much!"
"Rules number 3!" "Always pretend to be a box when not in private space!"
"Rules number 4!" "I'm just an ordinary box! A little bit cuter than other boxes, but still ordinary, don't worry!"
"....What with that?" Daichi snorted at the last "It was "Don't react if you're being found by someone", wasn't it?"
"Oh, right," Geo put stick it note on his forehead. It reads "DUM"
"............You're weird." "Sometimes weird is good!" the Vishamon answered proudly.
"Well, whatever suits you I guess," Daichi rubbed him on the top of his head. Geo cooed happily.
"Well remember all that four and we should be good. Come now, Geo."
"Aye, sir!"
How many days have it been? There was this... strange box that seem to move slightly diagonally to Daichi. Sometimes some students looked at it weirdly, but... most of the time they decided to ignore it. Daichi explained that it was some sort of robotic project, something with sensors and such. Because the behavior of the box was... quite different from times to times, they decided that it was a plausible explanation... But sometimes... some oddities could not be fully explained...
Like how on earth this box sprouts legs as it climb up the stairs. Sometimes, when the box accidentally hits something, the student reported they heard it apologizing with sheepish "sorry!" or even "my bad!". When someone accidentally hits it, it would make voice like "ow!" or "don't do that!"... but it was still a rumor.
During this time, he passed the art room, as the temporary teacher office is also that way...
...Only to realize that... wait, Daichi is not here! Did they got separated!?
The students now looking at a box that rotates itself in panic multiple times, trying to find Daichi!

Daichi Shiki's sudden "robotics project" rumor was quick to spread around the middle school portion of Shibuya Academy. It wasn't every day that a student would bring a giant cardboard box to school with them, let alone one with supposed robotics underneath. Not only that, but there were rumors of it growing four legs and even being polite about bumping into somebody. Surely, something was going on with that box at the school...
"I say we go and pick up the box," a certain second-year student was saying to one her friends in the hallway. This student was none other than Serena Isono, a rather popular girl around the school well known for being a near musical prodigy (as well as being stunningly gorgeous.) While Serena's strengths lied within the world of music, she had a sense of adventure to her as well. And right now, she had her sights on that bizarre box. "How about it?"
"A-Are you sure about that, Serena?" Serena's friend Reo said, sounding unsure about the idea. "Shiki-kun's probably really protective of his project. Besides, what if it's something like a monster? I've been hearing rumors about them lately."
Serena started to look bored, looking like she had heard this exact tale before. Probably because she had. "You mean those obviously fake rumors about giant bugs flying around? I doubt they actually exist, but it'd be cool if they did! Besides, aren't you at least a little bit curious about it? When have you EVER seen Shiki-kun doing anything with robotics? Something's very suspicious there..."
"If it's something strange happening around the school, I don't think you should be looking into it."
Both Serena and Reo turned to look at the source of the sudden voice, which came from their senpai Kaya Matsui, a third year student at the school. Serena looks unimpressed as she put her hands on her hips, looking right at her superior classmate. "And why do you say that, Matsui-senpai? You know that telling us not to do something just makes me wanna do it more."
Kaya turned to the girl and gave her a concerned look. "Don't you remember that night time incident last week? Weird things are happening and people are getting hurt. I'm just concerned and I don't want you doing something dumb."
"Maybe she's right, Serena... I don't want you to get hurt like those other kids did."
Serena sighed, it was clear she was outnumbered here. "I'm still telling you, it's only a box, but fine. I'll leave it alone for now." Meanwhile, Gem was still crying in a dark corner of the hallway near the art room. All he wanted to do was go home, but the only living beings in this building were humans, and Gem wasn't allowed to talk to any of them. He felt like he was going to starve to death here eventually... that is, until he saw the funniest thing walking by.
A cardboard box.
Naturally, Gem kept himself hidden as he watched the cardboard box troll on by. Did... did it have four legs, or was Gem just imagining things? Not only that, but Gem could feel something familiar coming from this box... the box itself was a Digimon! It just had to be! If there was another Digimon here, then Gem would be saved! He'd finally find a way home back to his friends and family!
...or so he thought. Gem was confused when this box suddenly started rotating in place randomly, and so were the other couple of students that were walking by at the time. He tilted his head as he watched this scene play out. Was... was this box confused or something? Maybe Gem could help them out! When he was convinced the coast was clear, he'd hover over to the spinning cardboard box and tap on it. "Are you lost, Mr. Box Digimon?"

"Daichi? Daichi!" It was probably a bit hurt to the heart hearing how this poor little thing trying his hardest to call for his missing partner, all while rotating in place trying to get his small vision hole to point at the right direction. He wasn't going to jeopardize his partner but even then he REALLY have to find him! After all, he still remembered the place where he hatched, and it was DREADFUL. That was when he felt a tap on his box.
"I-I'm an ordinary box!" he reflexively declared "A bit cuter than regular, but still ordinary--" oh daggummit Geo. You're supposed to stop and just stay in place when someone touched you. Geo quickly slapped another "DUM" post it note on his forehead.
"I'm not a box Digimon, no," he decided to try again. "I'm Geo! Ah..." he opepned the front end of his box a bit to slide out what looked like a chocolate filled bread. Lux-sensei does said that the easiest way to make friend is by giving them nice things. Food are nice!
"Wait, hey wait, Sohma! Don't just drag me like that!" Daichi protested as he's dragged by his friend.
"Sorry but you came a bit late, you know? They told us that the first period is changed into chemistry... and we need to go to the lab."
"But my box!"
"There's a quiz on the first hour! The box can wait, can't it?"
No, no it can't. He hastily typed a message to Hikaru while letting Sohma practically dragging his ass to the chemistry lab Ugh, this suuucks. He just hope that Geo will stay put until Hikaru read his message... it... it's most likely gonna be a while until his message got read though... or maybe immediately, considering he always have it on for emergency. All he can do right now is to hope...

When Gem got closer to the box, he could hear a voice coming from inside calling for a "Daichi." It sounded just as worried and scared as Gem was just a moment ago, so this Digimon must've been going through the exact same thing Gem was. Gem placed his paw on top of the box. "It's okay. I'm lost, too. It's easier being lost when you have someone with you, right?" Gem himself may have been scared and confused at this situation, but he was still going to live up to his parents' values and be there for someone regardless.
Gem blinked a bit when the box proclaimed it was just an ordinary box, and then he started laughing. This box Digimon was so funny, the little Gammamon thought! "I like you, Mr. Box Digimon! Would you like to be my human world friend? I have lots of other friends but they're not here right now, and I need more friends. My name is Gem! Gem the Gammamon!"
The "box Digimon" then introduced himself as Geo, which Gem noted was very similar to his own name. Oh, but he... wasn't a box Digimon? Gem tilted his head; what kind of Digimon was he if he wasn't a box Digimon? He didn't think about it long before the front end of the box opened a bit, with a piece of bread sliding out. Was he offering food to Gem? Whatever the case was, Gem was so hungry that he accepted the food instantly and took a big bite. He was delighted to find that the inside was filled with chocolate! "This is so goooood!" Gem cheered as he ate the rest of the bread with gusto, rubbing his grey belly with satisfaction afterwards. "Thank you, Mr. Geo! Um... can I lift the box to see what you look like, please?"
After hopefully getting permission, Gem would slowly lift up the box, allowing both Digimon to see what the other truly looked like. What Geo would find was a triceratopian Digimon with blue eyes and a blue scarf looking right at him and smiling. However, it wouldn't be long until footsteps were heard. Gem immediately dropped the box and dashed right into the art room.
Those footsteps belonged to none other than Serena Isono, who was walking to her class when she stopped and noticed the box sitting by the art room. This must be Shiki-kun's box! ...hm, should I pick it up and see what's inside? Serena stopped to think about it for awhile, but eventually Kaya's voice played back in her head and she decided against the idea. Well, I can't just leave it here. Lux-sensei's office is on this floor, right? I better go let him know.
And so, Serena left the box alone, walking over to Lux-sensei's office door and knocking on it with a particular rhythm: buh-buhbuh-buh-buh... buh-buh. "Lux-sensei? Are you in there? There's a weird box by the art room that I think belongs to Shiki-kun."

Huh? Lost? No no, he's not lost! He knew his way! He is just separated from Daichi! Geo wanted to say all of that, but well... he just doesn't have the time to explain much before his box got tapped and he blurted out the automatic response. So the one outside is a Gammamon... Huh, a Gammamon. He remembered hearing from Lux-sensei how that his data is basically a reverse of those of a Gammamon. Humhum.
And he failed to answer whether it's fine or not to lift his box. That's when Gem lifted it... oh dear. Pair of amberish eyes stared directly at the Gammamon's blue... wait, this Gammamon got blue eyes! That's weird! The picture of Gammamon that Lux-sensei showed him got yellow eyes! The footsteps however seem to startled both of them; Geo from the fact that the box cover suddenly dropped on him (it hits his head and while it doesn't hurt, it does makes him flinch and made rattling noise inside the box from the sudden fall)
"Owie" come small voice from the box.
But this time, Geo decided to freeze on spot and did not wander elsewhere. He promised after all! ...He hoped that Lux-sensei is around however... so that he don't have to stay in the box for much longer. However, to his dread, there wasn't any answer from the knock.
Oh dear, oh dear...
Dressed in kimono, at that point, Lux-sensei is teaching about japanese literature. The subject of that time is Rakugo. With his comical storytelling, Lux-sensei made the class laughs from his examples. However, in the middle of beginning to give example of a third story...
"...Ah, excuse me for a bit, I got a message in my phone..."
Lux-sensei pulled his D-NexT and looked at the content... "...Ah, I see... alright. Excuse me class, I have to attend some very important matter. I'll return in... say, probably ten minutes. I'd like you to behave and read more rakugo, or perhaps write one yourself for next week's performance how's that? I'll be leaving for a moment, do excuse me..."
And so he did, hoping that Geo is still on the third floor... honestly, walking with kimono is such a pain!

"Huh... you don't talk that much, do you?" Gem said, disregarding the obviously rehearsed line Geo had said before. Gem himself was quite a chatterbox like his father, so he couldn't quite relate. When he lifted up the box, he smiled when he saw those amber eyes looking right back at him. "It's okay... I'm a nice little dragon. I never seen a Digimon like you before, though... you look kinda like my big brother!"
Then those footsteps started getting closer, causing Gem to have let go of the box and go to hide in the art room, inadvertently dropping the box right on poor Geo's head. Thankfully, Serena didn't hear the "owie" coming from the Vishamon inside the box when she walked by. Everything seemed to be good when she went to Lux-sensei's office to tell him about the box, but no one responded. "Huh... guess he's not here."
Serena then looked back at the box. She knew she was told not to, but the curiosity was overwhelming. She had to see for herself where these rumors were coming from. So as she slowly walked back towards the box, Serena looked around to make sure no one was watching her. The girl slowly reached her hands towards the box to grab it, with the intent of lifting it right up and reveal Geo's existence to the world...
"There you are, Serena!"
Serena jolted her hands back to her side, trying her best to make it look like she wasn't about to lift the box. Turning her head towards the source of that voice, she'd see Reo just running up to her side. "I've been looking all over for you! Come on, class is almost about to start!"
"I was just going to the bathroom--" Serena defended herself, her voice growing more quiet as Reo grabbed onto her wrist and practically dragged her to class. Once they were gone, Gem slowly poked his head out of the art room door to confirm that there was no one else there.
"They're gone now..." Gem muttered, floating up a bit and looking towards the direction that girl ran in. "That human feels weird to be around." It would be now that Lux-sensei made his way to the third floor. Of course, Gem would see him coming down in his human form and hide in the art room once again. Why were all these humans showing up? Couldn't Gem just talk to his new friend in peace for five minutes?!

It's not that he's doesn't talk much. It's just that Daichi told him to not talk much when he's in secret prone zone. Well anyway, when Lux-sensei came, he looked around, making sure that there's no one around to see what he's about to do. He tapped the box three times with his index finger.
"P-password?" came Geo's voice from inside.
"One apple a day is what doctor told me to eat, but I prefer three."
Geo shyly lifted the box. "Your majesty, I'm so sorry..."
"Well it happens, don't worry. If anything I guess I should have told you to enter my office anytime huh, Geo? Well, come on, drag your box here. You can stop acting like a box and just act like a sculpture instead in the office... Well before that you can walk around I guess."
"Um, your majesty?"
"Well technically I'm not a king now in school. What's wrong?"
"You see, there's a lost Gammamon here... I think he might also need some help."
Hikaru froze at that. "....A Gammamon huh? And you say that he might need help, so I guess that... he doesn't cause any alarm to you?" Geo shook his head at this question. "Very well, I'll check on the Gammamon later after we get you to my office. I can't really show my non holosuited form while the class is ongoing. I won't lock the door to the office so... I hope that it would enter the room or something later. How does that sounds?"
"Sounds good! Thank you, your majesty!"
"Well, a duty of a teacher is to look out for all of their students. I'll be leaving you hear now, Geo. Don't make a mess, alright? Don't make too much noises either, although honestly the soundproofing of my staff room is really good."
With that, Hikaru left, Geo slids the door open just a bit in case Gem didn't see that he now have moved to Lux's office. He guess here they can talk much more freely.

Gem waited quietly as he eavesdropped on what was going on outside the classroom door. It seemed that the human knew about Geo and the fact that he was a Digimon... in fact, Gem could swear that Geo was even calling the human "your majesty." Gem tilted his head as he listened, trying to piece together what was going on. Is that human guy Geo's partner...?
They continued talking, and this was where Geo expressed his concern of Gem to this human, saying that he was lost and needed some help. Gem blinked a bit in response as he listened closer. He heard the human say that he'd check on the Gammamon later, while also mentioning that it'd be preferable if he walked into the office during school hours. In that moment, Gem wanted so much to jump out and ask for help, but his father's words still-
Wait... did that human say he had a "non holosuited form"? Gem tried to think back to what that could mean... he knew he heard the term before, but he was still a child so he wasn't as much of a critical thinker as more mature Digimon were. Oh well, it probably wasn't anything to important, Gem figured. He heard their footsteps walk away a bit, so once he felt like he was in the clear, Gem would slowly fly out of the art room and towards where he heard the footsteps going. It was very slight and he nearly missed it, but Gem did spot that the teacher's office door was slightly open.
This must be the room that Geo went to!
It felt nice that Gem had a proper place within this building to hide from all the other humans. Gem slowly slid open the door and closed it behind him, seeing Geo inside the office waiting for him... and this time, he wasn't hiding underneath a box! "Hi, Geo!" In that time that the two of them were waiting together, Gem basically explained his story to the Vishamon: Gem was going to meet some friends in the Digital World when he suddenly just appeared here in Shibuya, and spent the last however many hours hiding from humans and being scared that he wouldn't be able to find a way back home, up until he had met Geo, at least. Now that he had a friend to talk to, Gem didn't sound quite that upset about being lost in this world, but he did express how his family and friends were surely extremely worried by now. He also talked quite a bit about his family and friends during that time, like Adrian and Shoutmon, Skye, Luneth, Rory, Kohaku, and Ruri, among others.
To put it simply, anything Gem knows about certain people and Digimon, Geo is now aware about as well.
The conversation would likely go on until the lunch break, where the two were now just waiting for Hikaru to come back. However, something happened that would likely jeopardize everything. See, Gem didn't close the door all the way, so sound was able to come through. And right around lunch time, a certain instrument could be heard coming from a room down the hallway: a piano. "Is that music...?" Gem asked before he flew out the door again, likely worrying Geo in the process.
The Gammamon followed the source of the sound, which of course was coming from the music room. He didn't rush in there, but instead he poked his head around the corner and watched. And low and behold, it was none other than Serena Isono sitting at the piano, who was simply playing simple melodies to warm up. She placed some sheet music on the piano itself, took a deep breath, closed her eyes... and began to play.
That entire time, Gem's eyes grew more and more wide as he was entranced by the music. He had never heard such beautiful piano playing combined with such amazing singing... and the way that Serena herself was absolutely lost in the song she was performing as well completely sold it. He could almost see the musical aura surrounding her as she was in the zone during the song. So much so that he didn't even realize that he was floating right above the piano by this point, smiling right at Serena.
"Not bad for a first time performance, if I do say so myself..." When Serena finished the song, she opened her eyes and saw Gem floating above the piano, staring right at her. Now, a normal person would've probably screamed and ran away by this point. But Serena? "I must be more tired than I thought, the hallucinations are back... although this one's kinda cute," she said to herself, seemingly not bothered by Gem's appearance at all. "Alright little baby dragon, I don't feel like going crazy right now so can you go away please? Shoo, shoo."

Geo just listening to the explanation, but it's clear that there are some information that are out of his depth that he simply reacted by looking at Gem blankly. Like he's not even sure what he supposed to do. However, sometimes he decided to be a more calming figure, patting Gem (or more like a dog's attempt to pat someone) whenever he get too emotional, but... on talk of getting lost to the human world, Geo have this to share:
"...I don't know why, but whenever we tried to go to the Digital World, strangely we can't do it. Me and Daichi seem to be just got rejected by the portal. So... I'm not exactly lost in human world. This place is the only world that I know. However, while I can't help you, I know that His Majesty would surely able to contact someone to help you. After all, he's a wise Digimon!"
Though, he also failed to notice the fact that the door is open. When the music played, he just realized it and was about to close the door... at least until Gem was heading out. "W-wait, Gem! You must not be seen!" Geo called out. In his desperation to reach for the Gammamon, he has completely forgotten to actually wear any sort of disguise. The dragon Digimon was quite hefty and so does his footstep as he jumped past the door. It create a loud dull sound as he attempted to reach Gem.
Only to stop right at the front of music room with a panicked "awawawa" as it's clear that this lady saw Gem floating right near the piano.
"Geo!? I told you already that you shouldn't walk out of the office didn't I!?" It's a familiar voice... a voice belonged to someone he really know.
"A-ah, Daichi!" the dragon Digimon quickly jumped at his partner, who unfortunately isn't that strong enough to let a heavy dragonpuppy to just like that pushed his full weigth at him. "WHOA, WHOA, GEO! WHOA WAIT, WAAH!"
and a loud bang could be heard as Daichi hits the floor back first. Thankfully his head was protected.
"Daichiiiii, I thought you're gooooooooneeeeee~~~!"
"Geo! Not here! What if anyone saw this!?"

As expected by the reader, Geo wasn't really on track with anything Gem was actually saying. What Gem was doing was basically the equivalent of a little kid telling a random stranger their whole life story as fast as they can, so it was just natural that Geo would get a bit lost while listening to Gem ramble on and on like that. On the topic of being lost, Geo shared that he was actually unable to get to the Digital World.
"You... can't go to the Digital World?" Gem asked, tilting his head a bit. "I thought all Digimon were able to go there... are you sure you're really a Digimon?" Geo then said that if anyone could help Gem get home, it would be someone by the name of "His Majesty." "Is His Majesty the one I heard ya talking to earlier? How could he help? Does he have a partner Digimon too?"
Despite Geo's warnings to not be seen by the humans, they fell on deaf ears as Gem was currently only able to hear that beautiful music that was being played. And of course, that's where he would see the human playing the song on the piano, the musical aura encasing the entire room and the girl looking as if she was in another place altogether, considering how she didn't notice how the Gammamon was floating up above the piano.
"Wake up, wake up, if it's all you do! Look out, look inside of you! It's not what you lost... it's what you'll gain raising your voice to the rain! Wake up your dream and make it true! Look out, look inside of you! When you're feeling lost... relight that spark, time to come out of the dark! Wake up... mmmm, wake up..."
And once she did eventually notice Gem floating there, she dismissed it as an exhaustion hallucination and asked it to go away. Gem was, of course, confused. "What's a hall-oo-sin-nay-shin?" the little guy asked in the most wholesome way possible. Serena raised an eyebrow at this... did this thing just respond back to her? That's when she heard a loud "BANG" sound coming from the hallway. Naturally, she thought someone had a hard fall, so her first instinct was to go out there and see what happened, even help the person if they needed it.
"What if anyone saw this!?"
Well, Daichi's fears were confirmed. Staring right at the knocked over Daichi and the super heavy dragon-dog Geo on top of him was none other than Serena Isono, who right now looked like as if a million thoughts and theories were flying through her head as she tried to make heads or tails of this sight. "Sh-Shiki-kun?" Serena muttered as she stepped back a bit, her legs failing her from doing anything else at the moment.
Wait... does that mean that other dragon was actually real?! What the heck is going on?!?!

"Rude!" Geo retorted. "I'm 100% bona-fide Digimon! I am Geo the Vishamon!" Granted, there are no Vishamon in Digital World and Human World bars Geo. He was "the first seed" after all. "Yes, he's the same your majesty... no that's not his name nor that's what he is! It's a title for a king! He said that he's currently disguising himself, but he's a Dorumon named Hikaru. Though... come to think of it, he doesn't look like a normal Dorumon..."
Well, of course returning to the incident of what happened next, Daichi, whose friend circle is kinda limited and kept to himself, having no idea who this girl is. "Eh?" was all that he foolishly could ask. It wasn't until there was a loud fingersnapping sound that he looked away from the chaos that currently happening. Out of sudden, everything went quiet.
"Shiki-kun, Isono-kun, please head to my office straight away. This is not supposed to be seen by public. Quickly now," the clear voice of Lux-sensei could be heard. Geo was the first one to move, running quickly to the office, followed by Daichi. Soon after, Lux-sensei would offer a hand to Serena. "There are explanation for this, but this is not the place. You too, Lieutenant Skye's son," he would address Gem.
Lux-sensei's kimono billowed as he powerwalked to his office. Once everyone is there and accounted for, the teacher locked the room after putting a "Do not disturb" sign, and immediately after turned off his holosuit. Just as easily, the man in front of them shrunk to about more than half his height... into a fluffy dragon with stained glass looking wings.
"...To think that it's not just once but TWICE I must explain to kids nowadays about what happened... Seriously... I wonder what part of this is in my job description anymore? So? Whose fault is it this time? Who decided to just like that revealed themselves to someone new?"
Geo did not raise his hand. Hikaru knows for sure that he cannot and will not lie (Daichi had to convince him that his box act is simply roleplaying), His red eyes moved toward Gem.
"...You're not supposed to be here, I assume, young mon?"

Gem felt a little bad for suggesting that Geo wasn't a true Digimon, but he didn't know why else the digital gate would just straight up reject him like that. Can't blame a mon for making guesses. Geo shared that the human he was talking to earlier was none other than King Hikaru of Ys. Gem's eyes widened when he heard that fact. "The king of Ys is here?! I've heard so much about him! My teacher Mr. Owen is even his husband! Wait, why is King Hikaru here?"
Fast forwarding to the incident, Serena was currently looking at Daichi on the ground with a big dragon dog on top of him, extremely confused as to what was happening. And combined with the other dragon that was currently in the music room, this confusion just grew even more. With her legs failing her, it wasn't until she heard a loud snapping noise that caused everyone to look away from the chaos.
"Lux-sensei...?" Serena asked, noticing how he didn't seem to be taken aback by the literal monsters like he was... then again, he wore outlandish kimonos like this almost every day, so it didn't phase her that much. He requested that everyone follow him to his office, including both Serena and Gem, the latter of whom Lux referred to as "Lieutenant Skye's son." That alone peaked Gem's attention.
"You... know who my mother is?" Gem asked. While he knew about King Hikaru, he didn't think that he knew anything about Gem's family in the slightest. Did his family contact him? Where they trying to find him?
Regardless, Serena and Gem did indeed follow Lux-sensei, Daichi and Geo to the office, where Lux-sensei transformed into a purple-furred dragon with stained glass looking wings and a fox-like tail. "Of COURSE the literature teacher is a freaking dragon, I should've known!" Serena said in a slightly sarcastic tone of voice, still just trying her best to make heads or tails of whatever the hell was going on here. In short, Hikaru was not happy that he had to explain what happened to kids for a second time, and he asked who introduced themselves to someone new. Gem sheepishly looked away when Hikaru's gaze shifted over to him
"No, I'm not... I stayed in the office like Geo said... but then I heard someone playing a piano, and it was so good that I went to go see who was playing for myself. She makes really good music though! And before I knew it, I was right in front of her. She thought I was somethin' called a 'hall-oo-sin-nay-shin,' and then she ran outside and saw Daichi and Geo."
"Okay, first of all little guy, thank you for the compliment. Second of all, can someone just PLEASE explain to me what the heck is going on?!" Serena asked before looking at Hikaru. "How many of you not-actually-human guys are there? And how are you all able to speak such perfect Japanese?"

Hikaru flies toward his office chair with barely a care in the world as the newcomers looking more and more confused, and instead he simply looked at them normally. He popped out his D-NexT and looked at the screen. "...Let's address things one by one, alright? The most important thing right now is... Gem. Considering some events that have happened with your family, your mother have sent any of her allies your description and how you're a Gammamon with blue eyes. You have been missing for three days, and they're worried sick... But now that you're with me, I believe that will make it easier for them." he took a picture of Gem and sent it to Skye with simple message of "he's with me, don't worry. No foul play seem to be happened here."
"I suggest you stay close just in case," he would add... then looked at Daichi and Geo. "Geo, you should have gone to this office immediately, you know."
"M-my apologies..."
"Well, as long as it's the first time... now, to address the..." Hikaru made a quote sign "normie in the room." his eyes now looked at Serena. "Isono-kun, what you're seeing unfortunately not something that you should have seen. If I had the power I would probably erase this specific part of your memory considering how dangerous this side is... but unfortunately, memory erasing flash is not something that have been invented. So first I must ask you to stay calm while I explain.
I'm not in position that allows me to tell you exactly how many of us are around, but... probably enough, probably in four digits at least in this world. We're Digimons. Humans call us Ayakashi, Yokai even local deities, but we're pretty much data lifeform. Yes, data, as in computer data. We came from the shadow of this Analog World called Digital World. If you have heard strange rumors, then it's most likely Digimons.
Digimons walks the line between beast and humanly. The more civilized ones acted no different from you humans, but the more primal ones are almost no different from beast. Even so... we're still different species. Some finer details regarding human's behavior still feels alien to us. Not to mention, we're combat species, so many of us follows the law of the jungle. This might led to some issues in communicating if you encounter other Digimon beside us, but... I guess you won't have that sort of problem with me as I have been partnered for... seven years now come to think of it."

Hikaru took the sensible approach and decided to tackle each subject one by one, starting with the status of Gem. He explained that Gem had been missing for three days, and that his mother sent any of her own friends Gem's visual description. His fear of his family being worried sick was confirmed, however. "I didn't mean to come here... something just brought me here." Gem then saw that Hikaru was sending some kind of message on his Digivice thing. "Is that my mom? Can you tell her that I'm sorry, please?"
Serena was sort of able to understand Gem's situation. This little guy had been pulled here from his own home, and in the process his family had been worried sick about him. Despite still not knowing what this creature was, Serena still sympathized with him and wanted to hug him, telling him that it would be alright. But instead, she just stood there and watched Hikaru take care of everything, so maybe it would all work out? Then Hikaru felt it best to address the elephant in the room: Serena. Or rather, the "normie" in the room, as Hikaru put it. Serena was not too thrilled about being called that, despite it being 100% the truth. "Rude!" she yelled as she crossed her arms. Serena's annoyed expression turned into more of a frightened one when Hikaru mentioned that he would've erased her memory if he had the ability to, asking her to just stay calm as he explained. "R-Right..."
So... Hikaru and these two dragons were called "Digimon," huh? Judging by the way Hikaru explained it, either the stories of Yokai or deities were based off of these guys, or it was the other way around. The only difference was that they were made of computer data that came from a world called the Digital World. "So you guys are like... holograms?" Serena asked as she poked Gem's cheek, causing the Gammamon to chuckle a little bit.
Yep, these guys are actually there, alright.
Wait... partners? "What do you mean 'partnered'?" Serena asked. "Some Digimon are lucky, and they get paired up with a human to skyrocket to into the stratosphere of power!" Gem said in the most child-like way imaginable. "They use a thingy called a Digivice to give some power to their partner Digimon! My dad's got a partner, his name is Adrian Boriker and he's kinda like an uncle to me!"
"Well, he must be a real stand up guy, huh?" Serena said, trying to keep up her usual upbeat social habits despite how radically confused she was by everything going on. "Your name is... Gem, right? I'm Serena Isono, second year."
"I really liked hearing you sing and play the piano. My whole family loves music, and my dad's been teaching me how to play a little bit. I never heard someone play the piano like you have."
"Music's my passion, it's all I've really wanted to do ever since I was a little kid. I'm glad you liked my playing, though!" She then turned her attention over to Geo. "So you were what the rumors of Shiki-kun's box were about. It's probably for the best I didn't lift up your box after all."
