The look on the Thunderballmon's face could only be described with one word: sadistic. He was laughing as he looked down at the unconscious Hikaru, ranting and raving about how the "false king" was dead, a king that supposedly licked the feet of humans, metaphorically speaking. Serena couldn't believe the amount of utter hate that this Digimon was showing... what the heck was wrong with it?
As much as this thing angered Serena and Gem, it equally angered Daichi and Geo. Hell, Geo even yelled at it in a language that neither of the others truly understood, but it didn't matter; it was obvious what the message was intended to be. So, at the same time, Serena and Daichi called out their Digimons' attacks, the two of them working together to deal a big blow to the Thunderballmon. Heck, even a few of the PCs exploded thanks to the sheer force of that attack. While the dust was settling, Daichi took this time to go outside with Kaya in his arms.
"Is... is he gone?" Serena asked Gem as the dust was still settling from the attack.
"I can still sense his bad vibes," Gem responded in a serious tone.
Suddenly, the electric Digimon could be seen once again. A twisted grin was present on the Thunderballmon's face that sent chills down Serena's and Gem's spines. It circled around Hikaru's unconscious body, chanting the phrase "you dare" over and over again. The sight of it scared Serena so much that she felt like she had to back up a bit, and it was clear that Daichi was freaked out too when he re-entered the room.
"What the heck is your problem?" Serena asked the clearly mentally deranged Digimon in a confronting sort of voice, but also with a hint of legitimate worry behind it.
Then the Thunderballmon started yelling at them, claiming how he was going to tear them all limb from limb to the "traitors with walking batteries." Gem was about to speak up in defense of humans, but Thunderballmon beat him to it when he threw a ball of electricity at both Gem and Geo, neither of whom were able to dodge it.
"AAAAAAAAAAAUGH!" Gem screamed in pain, trying to stay standing as well. The electricity coursing through his body was painful, but he couldn't give up yet! Not with his new partner's life on the line here!
"GEM!"
The circle-like meter on Serena's Digivice was filling up...
"You're... wrong about us..." Gem growled at Thunderballmon through the pain. "Serena isn't a walking battery! Neither is Daichi! Adrian, too! Humans... help us! And we... help them back! My dad's not a traitor... King Hikaru isn't a traitor... Geo isn't a traitor.. and I'm not one, either!"
Gem takes the attack from Thunderballmon head-on, and was unable to attack back this turn.

"There's... no use," Geo mustered power to talk between trying to get up from the electric shock. "...They... they have lost their sanity... they... no longer could be reasoned with. Their data... muddled with hatred toward chosen... They can... no longer hear us... The Frags... did that to them... Hatred... is evil, addictive poison. And once you crossed the line, you could... never return..." His eyes moistened as he stared at the floating, berserking Digimon that now is laughing like a maniac at the pleasure of inflicting pain to the two Digimon. "...What sort of life that makes him hates human so much...? What happened to him that he let that sort of hatred consume him? ...Frags... can be rejected... yet he... welcomed one so readily to his heart." "Geo..." Daichi have always noticed that his partner is more in tune with emotions than he led on, but... this is probably the first time that he saw how in tune he is. Geo's tears, they're shed for sympathy for this creature... and perhaps, the thought of what could happen. "To not immediately trust outsider, is indeed a great self defense. Sometimes that mistrust ends up becoming xenophobia... but you're not supposed to let such hatred fester inside of you. Some level of mistrust is important, yet...This level of hatred... this level of joy that he feels as he hurts the other... I can't let this stand..." Daichi's Digivice let out a "click" sound as something began downloading, clear from the progress bar that appeared on the screen. "...If you let flame of hatred fester, nothing good will come out of it... Tree nurtured by hatred, will only produce fruit of hatred... In that case... I will... cleanse you!!" Geo roared once more in defiance, his body shines with multicolored light. " Oth wz Geo - therwaz neth zenvar-- zero est pholom!" It's at this moment that a computer shone. The room is enveloped by light, and before they knew it, they are transferred to different plane. It feels like realm between, but different. It feels... nostalgic. The entire place looked like ruin version of the school, with many plantation growing on the objects left behind. The chair looked slightly rusted, but feels like it's been used for a long time, and with such care. There... huh? Is that music playing? It sounded like a music box.... What's this? Why it feels so nostalgic? ...His question immediately answered by the appearance of an Agumon X right behind the Thunderballmon. "...Now you guys can fight safely!" he called out before disappearing. The vital sign on Daichi's digivice immediately filled to full. Daichi nodded to Geo, who nodded back at him. The vital line on the digivice spikes hard before it too shines in multicolored light. First Riders"VISHAMON, SHINKA!!" Geo declared-- a blue light descends on him, his body immediately wrapped by orange sphere of evolution. The moment it burst out, a blue dragon man appeared from inside, with burst of water pillar. Massive gauntleted hands and long, dolphin-like tail is its most evident trait. "Mare Vishamon!" The heavy armored look of Geo is now replaced with lithe muscular look of a swimmer like dragon, standing about one and half of Daichi's height. "Mare... Vishamon? ...Wait, this is another evolution!?" "No matter how you evolve, you won't ever beat me, traitors without pride!!" the Thunderballmon released a powerful stream of lightning laser at Geo, who... in his new form, suddenly squinted and dashed forward. His speed-- is nearly twice back when he was Vishamon! [Azure Javelin] "!" Daichi felt a new attack name coming. He already knew what to do. "Azure Javelin!!" Geo roared. Vent on his back opened, and released torrent of high pressured water jet. He put his hands together like a diving posture before spinning. The speed was beyond what the Aberrant was used to-- so fast that he could not dodge. "GHAKH!" For the first time ever, they managed to land a damaging attack! Geo glanced at Gem, as if encouraging him to evolve too.

"The... the Frags?" Gem asked, having no idea what the heck a Frag was. Serena was just as confused; what was going on here? Was this "Frag" thing why this Digimon was acting so damn nuts? Whatever it was, the more Geo discussed it, the sadder and angrier he appeared to get. As confused as Serena and Gem were, they were able to get the basics of it: This Digimon became like this simply because of the anger it had towards humans, to the point that it brought him great joy to make them suffer. Serena couldn't believe this... this thing was enjoying causing pain. Pain to Kaya, to Hikaru, to Gem and Geo... no. No, Serena wouldn't stand for something like this. She simply couldn't. That same progress bar was filling up on Serena's Digivice... It seemed that Geo was feeling the exact same way that Serena was. He cried out something else in a foreign language and before anyone knew it, a light came from one of the computer monitors and the entire room surrounding them changed. It was as if they had been transported to a ruined version of their school, with rusting chairs and plantation growing on the floor and walls. And not only that, but there was an... oddly nostalgic music playing, followed by what looked like a T-Rex with blue stripes behind the Thunderballmon, stating that now they could fight safely. And Serena was not prepared for what was going to happen next. Geo started glowing before he turned into another Digimon entirely, one named MareVishamon, apparently. Serena's eyes went wide while Gem's eyes were sparkling at this revelation. "Wh-what just happened to Geo?!"
"Geo just Digivolved!"
"Digi...volved?"
Whatever it was, this new form of Geo's was definitely what they needed. Thunderballmon sent another blast of electricity his way, but this time, Geo was able to dodge it effortlessly before delivering an equally fast attack right back at the floating electric Digimon. "No way, Geo was actually able to hit it now!"
"Now it's our turn, Serena!"
"What?! No, I don't even know how this Digivice works!"
"You can do it, Serena! I know you can! You don't need to know how; you just need to know that you can!"
Serena gave a warm smile to Gem, touched by his words. She then turned her attention back towards the Thunderballmon with an angry expression. "You're horrible..." Serena muttered. "All you want to do is hurt people, make people suffer, all in the name of giving justice to the so-called 'traitors.' You hurt Matsui... you hurt Lux-sensei... and now you've hurt my little brother... well, I'm done letting you hurt anyone else! You're gonna pay!"
The progress bar had now fully filled up, the vital line on the screen now spiking up as well. "Gammamon, Evolution!" Gem declared as a cluster of little stars formed and started attaching themselves to his body. The body then quickly grew taller and taller before the glowing ceased, revealing what appeared to be a taller red-colored Gammamon with shoulder armor, a white muzzle and a blue long scarf. "BetelGammamon!"
"Digivolution... I really did it...!" Serena said with awe. "It's our turn now, Serena!" Gem declared as he dashed at full-speed towards Thunderballmon. [Sol Blow] Serena felt the attack coming, and like Daichi, she knew what to do. "Sol Blow!"
His right fist now charging with photon energy, Gem leapt up into the air and came plummeting down right towards Thunderballmon with the intent of decking him right in the face with a photon-charged fist, preferably while he was still recovering from Geo's attack moments ago so he wouldn't be able to dodge as easily. Meanwhile, just outside the classroom, Kaya began to slowly open her eyes. All she could feel was utter pain coursing through her body, and burns right on her skin. Her vision was blurry, so she couldn't quite make out where she was. "Nnngh... my head... where am I?" she mumbled to herself. It was going to take a little bit more time for her to get enough strength to push herself up to a standing position.
Gem digivolved to BetelGammamon and uses "Sol Blow" on Thunderballmon.

"Nuooooooooo!!" the Thunderballmon was sent far toward the end of the room, crashing and even gone through several rooms. The battlefield has expanded, and that's great. They have more room to strike. Even if the Thunderballmon have more wiggle room, at the moment it's them who are pretty much sitting duck.
"We give chase!" Geo told the rest. "The more distance between us, the worse it will be for us!"
Daichi nodded at that notion, but not before another technique appeared in his mind.
[Mirror Image] "Just in case... Mirror Image!"
The sigil on Geo's shoulders and leg armors shone... before a second Geo made out of water appeared right beside him. It's three on one now, practically. Geo pushed some of the obstacles away and quickly went through the hole on the wall to give chase to the sadistic Digimon, hoping that Gem and Serena to follow suit soon. Daichi of course followed behind his partner when he's sure that the coast is clear.
Gem's attack pretty much blasted the Thunderballmon two rooms away. It's a laboratory, but an empty one. Thankfully no harmful chemicals are around, but it does indeed make Daichi sweat. The idea of gas still flowing to these laboratories gave him bad case of anxiety.
"You... you human mutts will pay!!" the Thunderballmon immediately released a wave of electricity that would shock the one who got hit by it, so much that could not move. It was a bit too fast for Geo to fully dodge. Not to mention he had to protect Daichi who's right behind him. He positioned himself between the attack and his partner and took it head on.
"GRK--"
"Can't move now, can you!? Well time for new kind of pain!" the Thunderballmon then summoned forth a rumbling stormcloud that formed right above Geo and Gem.
Those who left in the computer room would be the still embedded on the wall Hikaru. The pain... is still quite palpable, but... he felt a warmth on his body. His flickering data stabilized, and he soon regained lucidity. He let his body drops to the floor, except... an arm stopped him from actually hitting the floor..
"...Are you alright?"
that was a voice that he never heard before, yet... he felt like he knew the voice from somewhere... Once he opened his eyes, he... was struck by a nostalgic feeling like never before... but he knew this. He knew this feeling... and he knew all these emotios that wells up from him.
"...I see... Singularity, you are..."
He purposely let his words trailed on. "...Long time no see, old friend... It's you, isn't it?"

Turns out that Gem's attack was so strong, it sent Thunderballmon crashing through the walls and flying through several rooms of the school. Serena had to blink a couple of times as she processed just how strong Digimon truly were, only snapping back to reality when Geo said that they had to follow Thunderballmon. "R-Right!" Serena called out as she and Gem followed along, with Geo making a water copy of himself as they went.
So... that's really Gem now, huh? Serena thought to herself as she looked at the BetelGammamon, who had a different vibe to him than he did as Gammamon. It's like he grew up instantly... dang, I kinda liked him the way he was before.
The group arrived in the laboratory, where the Thunderballmon eventually crash landed. Gem re-assumed his fighting stance as the electric Digimon got up, claiming that they would all pay. The Thunderballmon then fired a wave of electricity at the group, to which both Geo and Gem re-positioned themselves in front of to protect their partners. And just like Geo, Gem lost the ability to move after being struck by the attack. "GRAH-!"
"GEM!"
Yep, the Thunderballmon had them cornered once again. With Gem and Geo now being unable to move, Thunderballmon began creating a storm cloud right above the two of them. It didn't take much for someone to figure out what was going to happen next.
Come on, Gem... you gotta pull something off last minute! Daichi, Geo, you guys too! It's NOT going to end like this!
What no one knew up until then was that Kaya had managed to pick herself up before she heard the loud crashing of Thunderballmon from earlier. She hobbled her way to what she believed to be the laboratory, wondering why the heck the entire school was falling apart like it was right now. She silently opened the classroom door, where she saw the two partnered Digimon trapped in paralysis as a thunder cloud had formed above them.
Despite her own intense pain that she was still suffering, Kaya knew she had to help.
Without thinking twice, she ran into the room and leapt towards Gem and stood in front of him, holding her Digivice up towards the thunder cloud as a screen of light immediately materialized, generating from the Digivice itself. That light screen would completely block the attack before it broke completely, and that's when Thunderballmon would see Kaya glaring right at him. "You're gonna pay for what you did, you brat."
"Matsui-senpai?!"
Kaya activates her "Light Screen"
Light Screen: A screen of light that protrudes from the Digivice, allowing humans a minor degree of protection. It can weather up to three Rookie attacks or one Champion attack before collapsing. It can collapse with a 3-post recharge time two times in a thread. On the third recharge, it breaks. Not for Digimon usage.

"HAHAHA, CAN'T MOVE CAN YOU!?" the Thunderballmon taunted. "WELL TOO BAD, TIME TO DIE!! FALLING THUNDER--!!"
The attack would descend down upon the two---, but before it could, Geo suddely smirked. "Who said I can't move?" he taunted. He SHOT ahead, like a sprinter. Geo practically dodge the attack at the very last second, vent shooting water to enhance his speed to propel him forward.
"!?" Daichi looked at his partner in disbelief. "W-what what just happened?"
But a quick look at his Digivice confirmed it, Geo's status did not show any paralysis icon on him. If anything, he... purposely trying to look as if he's paralyzed and is using that time to go for an attack... Could this be, his passive? But there's no time to contemplate that at the moment.
"WHAT!? But that didn't protect the other ra---" Thunderballmon noticed that Kaya just protected Gem. "YOU BRAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTT------!!!!!!"
Now, while he's distracted!
[High Tide] "High Tide!"
Geo roared, the gems on his chest and on his arms shone as a ten meter Tsunami appeared out of nowhere in front of him. His copy, already circling the opponent, did the very same. It's at this moment that Daichi felt massive chill on his spine... that Geo is terrifying if crossed. The two waves crashed together, and even if it was't that powerful, the two attack colliding was like two walls that slammed into one another, flattening and drowning those who dared to challenge the might of the earth.
"GUAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!"
And if there's anything scarier than experiencing tsunami yourself, it's of seeing two tsunamis just crashing together and seeing the result of that clash, and what it would do to a creature. The Thunderballmon was practically drowning, even if it was for a short while. Geo swung his arm vertically before the water could reach Daichi and the rest, and as if on command, the water parted, leaving them untouched. But the job isn't done. The Thunderballmon might have taken high enough damage, but it's not enough to finish it. Geo jumped and kicked at the ball of electricity, toward Gem!
"FINISH IT!" was all that he said before landing beside Daichi.

Geo had fooled Thunderballmon big-time. He was only pretending to be paralyzed by the last attack, and he managed to dodge the Falling Thunder right at the last second, all while Gem was being protected by Kaya's "light screen" function from her Digivice. Her face turned into an angry stare as Thunderballmon screamed and called her a brat.
"I'm the brat?! That's rich, coming from an Aberrant like you who electrocuted me!"
While Thunderballmon was distracted, Geo took that opportunity to attack. The way he roared looked utterly terrifying, proving that Geo was not a Digimon you wanted to cross at any point in time. A whole tsunami appeared in front of Geo, shooting right at the Aberrant. His copy did the exact same thing, leaving two separate waves to crash right into Thunderballmon at the same time, flattening and almost drowning it. After the waves had parted, Geo kicked the Thunderballmon right towards Gem, telling the BetelGammamon to finish it.
"Move, Kaya!" Gem instructed of his human protector, who nodded and ran over to Daichi and Serena. The BetelGammamon's eyes narrowed as he watched this electric ball Digimon fly right towards him.
[Stardust Blast]
Gem's hands cupped together as he gathered photon energy within his palms...
"Stardust Blast!"
"RAAAAAAAAWUGH!" Gem screamed as he extended his hands outwards, releasing all of that built up photon energy in the form of a blast at point-blank range right at Thunderballmon. If the sheer force of Geo's attack wasn't enough to fully defeat this Aberrant, then an attack like this was certainly going to, and possibly even be overkill. But in the moment, neither Serena nor Gem cared. This Digimon had to be stopped, by any means necessary.
Gem uses "Stardust Blast" at point-blank range right at Thunderballmon.
Moves
Stardust Blast: Gem cups his hands together, channeling his photon power into the palms of his hands before he extends his palms outward like a Kamehameha, firing a photon blast stream right in front of him and damaging whatever it hits. Cooldown is three posts.

Star Powered (Combat Passive): Gem's powers make this BetelGammamon more powerful than he normally would be. He gains a 30% boost in damage when in this form thanks to them.

A silent scream was all they needed to know to see that this Digimon... has finally perished, along with the frag inside. The black sphere from in it got wiped the moment it came into contact with the attack. The attack left an egg behind... the egg of the Thunderballmon.
"...Do not ever be consumed by your own hatred anymore," Geo whispered at the egg, before putting his hands together in prayer. "...Khalss nem vinar, manaf xel novve. Phorom thez lythwel, lythwel thez verdwel."
He then lifted the egg and made a motion of tossing it upward lightly, where the egg spun and is sent elsewhere, most likely to the village of beginning.
"You're... Geo, aren't you?"
"Hmn? Of course I am, Daichi. Digimon sometimes had a small change of maturity level once they evolve to their higher stage... so I understand if this is a bit surprising for you."
"Huh... I see."
"...I don't think normally I can stay in this form for this long either. This realm, perhaps, has gave us more than enough energy."
"Perhaps... Ah, wait, sensei!" Daichi just noticed about Hikaru. "Geo, do you have any healing ability in this form?"
"Don't worry, I do."
Daichi quickly ran toward where Hikaru is. To his surprise, Hikaru is sitting at a chair, looking outward.
"Sensei?"
"Mmm? Ah... Shiki-kun. Would you like to join me looking at the blue sky?"
"...Your majesty, is there anything wrong?" Geo asked. Hikaru shook his head.
"...No, there's... nothing wrong per se. More like... I guess I finally understood what you meant... The singularity, you see... I met him."
"You met him?"
"...Yes, I met him... it's different than I thought. At first I thought I was ready, but... I guess I wasn't. But thanks to that I think I know what exactly he is."
"What exactly he is?"
Hikaru finally looked toward Daichi and Geo, it's clear from the wet furs on his cheeks, he have been crying. Hope "...He's, you see... [Elpis]."

Gem was breathing heavily as his attack ended, destroying the Frag and leaving behind a Digi-Egg in the process. His arms were still extended for a bit as if he was performing the attack before he dropped them, letting out a big sigh in the process. His eyes shot open when he felt something hug him from behind... it was Serena, wrapping her arms around his abdomen and hugging tightly. "You did amazing, Gem," Serena calmly told him with a smile on her face. "R-Really?" Gem asked, his face growing a bit pink as he blushed due to the praise. "You were both amazing," Kaya said, holding her rib with her left hand as she smiled at the two. "I was only here for a bit, but I could tell you two are great as partners from the way you were fighting. I could really feel your connection. Should've figured that you'd become Chosen one day, Isono-kun."
"Matsui-senpai... you've been a part of this...?" Serena asked, before she realized that Kaya was still hurt. "Matsui-senpai, why are you on your feet?! You need to lie back down!"
"Relax, I'm perfectly fine... somehow..." Come to think of it, how was Kaya okay? Sure, she was still in pain, but it was at the very least tolerable. She was given a full blast of lightning, how was she not almost dead? That was when Daichi remembered that Hikaru was still hurt. Thankfully, Geo had a healing ability in his new form, so off the group went after him. Kaya's pain took over momentarily, and she would've fallen had Gem not grabbed onto her and helped her stand up. "I've gotcha, Kaya," Gem said as he helped her walk. It was clear to Serena that Kaya and Gem knew each other from somewhere, but she'd have to ask about that later. What no one was expecting was Hikaru sitting in a chair looking out the window, perfectly fine. "L-Lux-sensei? You're... alright?"
"That can't be right, we saw you get hit by Thunderballmon's lightning," Gem said.
Nonetheless, Hikaru was perfectly fine. In fact, he was even claiming about how he met "him." Serena and Gem looked at each other with confused expressions while Kaya knew immediately what Hikaru was talking about. "Wait, you met the Singularity?!"
"The Singularity? What's that?"
Unfortunately, as Hikaru turned around and explained that he was actually "Elpis," whatever that was, Kaya fully passed out as her injuries hadn't been fully healed. Gem quickly caught her before she fell to the ground, thankfully, but his expression was one of worry. "Kaya!"
"She's still hurt... Sensei, do you know how to get us out of here? Matsui-senpai needs a hospital!"

"Right, we still need to get out of here." Hikaru mused.
"Sensei?"
Hikaru was uncharacteristically calm, or perhaps, like someone who just mourned for someone who he had just lost, but... Out of sudden, a crest appeared underneath him as his form rapidly transitioned. From Dorumon, to Dorugamon, to Dorugreymon, and finally... to the royal knight-like visage that he always used for years until his stagnation. The wings on the back of the Digimon spreads wide, before he snapped his finger. A massive portal appeared.
"S-sensei, you're not going to tell us to leave you behind or anything, right?"
"Pft... nah, that's not why I evolved to this form. I evolved to this form to pinpoint best location for us to teleport to. It'll be REALLY bad if we reappeared in the ruined computer lab right?"
"Oh right, it got trashed..."
"Honestly, I would say that one room trashed is still quite great all thing considered. One room trashed at least we can say that things exploded from the crazy high power surge. But a whole floor... yeah no. We're lucky that at least it doesn't hit any gas pipes though."
"So, how would you explain this to the authority?"
"The truth: Sudden spike of electricity caused a short circuit that unfortunately exploded the computer. A chain reaction happened and unfortunately it caught to several units. Thankfully, the explosion wasn't bomb-like, but more to in controlled radius, so we can rule out any strange incident."
"But what about the cameras?"
"I'll ask someone to tamper it later. Anyway, enough of that. You should go. This portal leads to the emergency stairs of the junior high school building. Remember, stay calm and collected. Geo, Gem, the moment you leave this area, you'll be devolved. At that point, you two should stay hidden for a bit while Shiki-kun and Isono-kun follow me to the entrance. Ready?"
Daichi and Geo nodded. Once again, Daichi lifted Kaya then entered the portal. True to Hikaru's word, Geo's Mare Vishamon form shone blue and his body shrunk back instantaneously to his Vishamon form. Geo looked around and found a bush, and immediately dived in there. The second to come out is Hikaru, who's already in his holosuited form again.
"Let me carry her. Alright, let's pretend that we were just walked down the emergency exit... yeah just like that. Alright, good." There are sounds of ambulance sirens. Daichi followed Hikaru, who's already handing Kaya over to the EMT. Hikaru of course then describes what happened to the EMT, and some of the police that turned up. Considering the rumors that have been floating around, they seem to take this a bit more seriously now. Testimonies were taken, and it seems that there haven't been any clashing informations. However, due to the seriousness of the surge, it's seem that the school will be completely without electricity for a bit. Perhaps for two days or so, and so classes are cancelled then.
While some obviously cheered, there are more... less enthusiastic students, for obvious reason. The uncertainty that sets in because so many strange rumors swirling around the school definitely doesn't make this any easier. It felt like there are something sinister that lurks beneath the promise of safety.
"...If only there something we can do..." Daichi muttered under his breath.

Out of everything that had just happened so far, Serena shouldn't have been surprised to see Hikaru transform from the dragon fox into other forms before settling on a large knightly form. And yet, she couldn't help but be surprised. This day had taken so many twists and turns, and she wasn't sure where anything was going to go anymore. As it turned out, he only took on that form to pinpoint where the group should teleport to. He had a point; reappearing in the trashed computer room wouldn't look good.
They had an alibi for what happened, at least. A sudden electric spike that trashed the computer room, similar to the other electrical spikes that had happened in the city that day, and someone tampering with the security cameras later will help with this story. It's as good of a story as we're going to come up with, Serena thought to herself. Hikaru then snapped his fingers, forming a massive portal for the group to walk through. He explained it would take them to the emergency stairs of the junior high building, and that Geo and Gem would have to find a place to hide after going through while Hikaru took Daichi and Serena to the entrance. Gem nodded, understanding fully. He gave Kaya to Daichi before walking through the portal with Serena and the others...
Like Hikaru said, Gem reverted right back to Gammamon as soon as they walked through. He dove into a bush like Geo did as Serena walked with Hikaru and Daichi to hand Kaya over to the EMT. In the end, testimonies were given and rumors spread like wildfire, and due to the seriousness of the surge, the school had no electricity and classes were cancelled for the next couple of days. All those involved with the Digital World weren't as happy about it as the rest of the students, Serena included.
Serena just watched as the EMT took Kaya away, presumably straight to the hospital. Her hand gripped her chest tightly as she tried to come to terms with how today affected her. That Thunderballmon... he did all of this. He hurt Kaya, hurt Hikaru. And though he was defeated, that just simply wasn't enough for Serena. In essence, she was feeling similarly to Daichi at this point in time, wondering if there was anything she could do.
Some time later, for the next few minutes, Serena had paced back and forth as she was explaining to her parents what had happened, after word of the incident had already gotten out. "No, it didn't effect my classroom... it was in the computer lab, and it did hit one of my friends... yeah, she's in the hospital, I'm going to visit her before coming home, if that's alright... yes, I'm perfectly fine... alright. I love you too, Daddy. Tell Mom I love her too. Buh-bye." Once she ended the call on her phone, she took one last look at Daichi with a skeptical or judging glance. She pulled out a piece of paper and wrote something on it before walking over to him.
"Look, Shiki-kun, I can tell you and Hikaru know more about just what that... thing was. I won't press you for any details, but if it's something I should know, please tell me. I'm as involved with this are you are now, you know? In the meantime..." Serena placed the piece of paper in Daichi's hand. It was her phone number. "Call me next time you need help, alright? I can promise you Gem and I won't be too far away... be safe, Shiki-kun. Come on, Gem, let's go."
And just like that, Serena picked up Gem as if he were a stuffed animal and started walking towards the direction of the hospital that Kaya had been taken to for a visit. She just had to be sure that she was actually alright after all that happened.
In the end... it was one hell of a first adventure for a new Tamer.
