"Will do, but just in case I think it's the best for you to tell her yourself what's going on," Hikaru simply said. "And tell her that you didn't know what caused you to get pulled in the real world. Regardless, I have sent that message to her. Unfortunately due to the time dilation, direct speaking would be impossible. The best way is to either she get here or you go back home. Though..."
Hikaru looked at the young lady Isono. ".........I suspect I know the reason of your sudden transfer."
More questions were asked and Hikaru fortunately has the answer for them.
"The scientifics behind it should not be asked, Isono-kun, unless you're ready to hear me talk about Data and Wave Science for like... two hours straight? Either way, no, we're not hologram. The moment we crossed to human world, our 0 and 1 are converted into something of analog-like structure. Except we'll never be fully analog. The same way that you will never be fully Digital if you crosses to Digital World. Only part of you will be."
Geo tilted his head at Serena's question though. "Am I popular?" he asked.
"...I guess it's eyecatching," Daichi muttered. "Sadly I just don't know how else to get him near me all the time."
"It happens. Anyway, Isono-kun... now that I have explained everything, here's the thing. I suspect that you might will become a chosen too. This... to you might be the start of a grand adventure that you will never will experience had you stayed a normie. However... it comes with a great conditionals. For example... the moment you become a chosen, somehow one way or another you'll always get roped to situation like this, in where you met Digimons. and sometimes you'll meet more chaotic chosens who just want to fight with you, thinking that they're in Pokemon game instead.
These situations are not all fun and games. There are also... times where you'll scream in fear, or caught in situation where you'll die if you make even the slightest mistake. You have two options now.. To walk away, act as nothing happened, wish it strongly in your heart to not get chosen.... Or dive right in. A lot of chosen had no idea that they can choose... But exactly because of that they must choose. Should you really want to walk in this journey regardless, to come to "This" side, then... A Digivice most likely will appear in front of you."

"Oh..." Gem muttered, a faint murmur of disappointment evident in his voice. He had completely forgotten about the dumb time dilation between his world and this one, and the poor child just simply wished it didn't exist. It was only a few hours since he got here for Gem, but it was three days for the rest of his family and he just wanted to let everyone know he was okay. But what Hikaru said was the reason he was brought here flew right over Gem's head. "Hm? I don't get it, Your Majesty..."
"'Your Majesty'?" Serena asked, a bit confused as to why Gem just called him that. "Are you some sort of king or something, Lux-sensei... or should I even call you that, now that I know what you actually are?"
The way Hikaru explained what happened to Digimon when they traveled between worlds sounded... well, implausible at the best to Serena, but considering that dragons shouldn't even be existing it all, it would just make sense that Hikaru was telling the truth about the subject at this point. "That sounds like actual magic to me," Serena said, sounding more interested in the topic of Digimon. "Are Digimon magic? Does actual magic exist??"
Just simply judging by how Daichi was seemingly having trouble with Geo, it gave Serena a clue that maybe these guys were brand new "partners," or however it worked. But that's not what caught Serena's attention... it was Hikaru theorizing that Serena herself would be a "chosen" herself, just like this Adrian guy and supposedly Daichi. "Wh-what?" Serena asked, looking over at Gem who seemed to be just as confused as she was. Hikaru went on to explain the many trials and tribulations that would befall someone involved with the Digital World. How they would always get roped into situations involving Digimon or other Tamers that wanted to fight, or how she would become involved in situations that would make her want to scream, where one wrong move could spell death very quickly. He calmly explained that Serena had two options: she could walk away as if nothing happened, or she could dive in and see how far the rabbit hole went. "I... I don't know..." Serena said. Everything was happening so fast, she was still trying to process the fact that these digital monsters existed to begin with. She looked over at Gem, who still looked a bit unsure of everything. "I'm just a girl that plays music, I'm not cut out for that kind of excitement. But... Gem here is kind of cute. Is it okay if I just kinda learn more about Digimon before I make my decision?"

"That is correct, but my formal title in this world is simply 'sensei'. I don't think it's necessary for one side to care about the other side's politics unless it concerns them, so I wouldn't really need to be addressed with such title. Now, either way, I don't really care which of my name you decide to call me with, but with this I hope you understand that I'm actually a Japanese native."
"...Is that distinction truly that important?" Daichi can't help but to retort.
"They just DON'T BELIEVE ME everytime I told them that I'm a native! Plus they said it'll be easier if I said that I came from outside the country!"
Hikaru coughed to end the conversation. "Digimon's magic is simply coding. Those who commands the power of coding can pretty much shape the Digital World to their whim... however human does not have power of processing. Only input. Hence they cannot use magic in DIgital World no matter how great they are at coding... unless, of course, they have the terminal that can processes their input and produces an output. Then they can. But no, that's not really magic. That's simply just law of the world."
to Hikaru's answer, the young lady Isono mentioned how she's just simply someone who plays music and and there's that kind of excitement that doesn't suit her... To this Hikaru chuckled as he put on his holosuit back.
"This is coming from the girl who said that you only live once and seem trying to flip over a literal, moving padora box?" Hikaru teased. "I guess you found something beyond terrifying to bite into eh...? But honestly, it's great that you still have fear for the unknown. That's... good. Because that means your sense of danger is still there.
Follow your heart. It's alright to take it slow. Those who are on "this side" generally chose because they have a goal they want to accomplish. Personal growth, finding clues about a lifelong dream and goal, or simply because they want to be free... Everyone have their reasons. Make sure your reason are not something weak that you will eventually regret, Isono-kun. Because once a chosen, you'll be chosen forever, whatever may came."

Serena didn't quite get why Lux-sensei was insisting that he was a Japanese native. He was a Digimon, a monster from another world entirely... by definition, he's not a native Japanese citizen. "I don't think that's how it quite works, sensei," Serena said to Hikaru. "No offense, but by definition, to be native Japanese you kind of have to be a human." Yeah, this is surely gonna go well, isn't it?
Oh, so magic for Digimon was actually just really fancy coding mumbo jumbo, something that humans can't really do on their own, despite how good at coding they may or may not be. "What does 'coding' mean?" Gem asked, tilting his head.
"It's like... digital stuff involving a lot of numbers," Serena said, pretty much revealing herself to not know a damn thing about coding. To her, it was kind of a boring way for magic to exist, so she decided to not even really count it as magic. Still, though... living beings made of computer code? Now THAT was definitely magic.
Hikaru then put his holosuit back on after Serena made her claim, asking her if she was the one that was claiming that you'd only live once and tried to flip over Geo's box. "Okay, first of all, I never said that. Second of all, how did you know that I wanted to lift the box? And third of all, that saying doesn't really apply once you throw in alien monsters into the mix!"
Hikaru did go on to say that it was great that Serena still had a sense of danger and a fear of the unknown. He also said it was fine to take it slow for now, to find a reason for being chosen that worked for Serena. She looked over at Gem, who was just smiling back at her. "Once I'm part of your crazy world... then that's it. Is that right?" She looked at Hikaru, then Geo, then Daichi, before looking back at Gem.
Do I even have a reason to join in with this craziness? I want to get closer with Gem, but he has a family to get back to, a family that I just don't think I belong to. All I want to do is play music...
"...I just don't know," Serena said with a sigh, shaking her head in the process. "This always happens to me! Every time I have to make some big decision, I just never can! I hate making choices like this so much! I just want something to be able to tell me what to do! Is that seriously too much to ask for?"
"Serena..."

"But apparently, shiba inus are declared as Japanese native dogs. Yet apparently I'm not a Japanese native Digimon? Hmn? Hmmmmmmmmn? Apparently, I, a Digimon who can understand and speak fluent japanese, with native level kanji writing, typing and even with extensive knowledge of japanese literature and culture, apparently is less human than a dog of all thing?" Hikaru asked rhetorically. He's pretty much grumbling at nothing at this point. "Apparently being analog is the only important thing here, huh?"
Well, at the very least Serena probably get it that he's not aiming those at her, but more at the system that had him to register as a foreigner.
"Teachers have their own eyes, Isono-kun. Especially when you students are busy talking with your peers, we instead focuses on each one of you, making sure that you're healthy, happy and safe... and don't go around trying to do something bad for shit and giggles. I have been going around patrolling for that kind of thing after all. You might heard a lot about how I'm quite strict when it comes to occultic stuffs or asking around to students to share with me any rumors that have been circulating around... Truthfully I'm doing those to protect kids and to make sure that they're NOT involved in any Digimon related incidents.
...Yes, I wonder if your sense of adventure was tickled with any of those rumors? I'm glad that you didn't actually jump to those rumors however."
To Serena's latest question, Hikaru sighed.
"...No, I will not, and will never tell you what to do at this crossroad of fate. I can understand you, however, young one. My partner, about... seven to eight years ago, perhaps? Was first chosen to be with me. He too let the world chose for him. to follow the stream of fate... but he was ill equipped, just almost as ill equipped as you are. Back then, the world is much more dangerous you see. We do not have allies in real or digital world. We're simply bunch of children trying to find our place in the world, adventuring and trying to make sense of left and right."
Hikaru lifted a picture frame, six teens, seven Digimons. "...It's sink or swim for us. We didn't... come to this world mentally prepared. Those kids are literally SHOVED into an adventure they didn't ask, nor did they wish. We made friends during our adventure, but at the same time also tons of enemies. Most of it wasn't our fault, but more to xenophobic sentiments or narcissistic humans who believed they can do anything now that they have partnered with Digimons."
Hikaru crossed his legs and sat on his table. ".....Here's the thing, Isono-kun. Let's say that your friend suddely got chosen to move to crime heavy area of USA... but there are far greater chances there to improve as a person for them if they do move. They asked you if they should move there. Would you tell them to move... or not? Or is that responsibility is beyond you?"

"Oh, so that's why you're always asking us those weird questions," Serena said after Hikaru explained how he was trying to prevent students from going off on wild Digimon adventures unwittingly. "Reo and I thought you were just being super weird for no reason. You are the teacher that wears kimonos to work, after all." It was undoubtedly no secret by this point that Lux-sensei was a very eccentric teacher, so it was likely that rumors like that were going to go around. Serena had to admit, though, Lux-sensei had a point. She did feel enticed to go explore these rumors every once in a while, unless it was obviously super dangerous or if someone was telling her that it was a bad idea to do so. Like, yeah, she did want exciting things to happen every once in a while (mostly just to be able to get ideas for songs, if she was being honest,) but she wasn't willing to die for it, and that fear of death was ultimately what was causing her indecision. Overall, Hikaru did understand the internal struggle Serena was having over this kind of decision. He explained how his own partner as well as five other kids were forcefully pushed into this kind of life against their will, and he was ill equipped to handle it. Serena looked at the picture frame that Hikaru held up: six kids and seven Digimon. They looked... well, happy in that image. But with Hikaru's words, it sounded more and more like they were holding up some sort of facade, and Hikaru admitted that they had made tons of enemies with this kind of life.
"You guys look happy there..." Serena commented as she glanced at the picture. "As if even though you're in a bad situation here, you still manage to find the desire to see it through to the end. I don't want to regret whatever I choose, and I do want to see more about Digimon and see this Digital World. But my life right now is near perfect, and I just don't know if any changes that come with being... 'Chosen' will be good changes."
Serena listened as Hikaru proposed his hypothetical involving a friend moving to a crime-ridden area in order to better themselves. He asked Serena if it was her place at all to tell them to move there or not. She understood what he was trying to say, but it still didn't make the process of deciding any easier.
"...my dad's partner loves being Chosen," Gem would then speak up. "One time, we were on a Trailmon going home, and he said that he loved our world, and he loved Digimon as well. I think if he loves it, then you would, too."
"Really? Even with all the risks?" Serena asked, to which Gem nodded his head. "But... you have a family to get back to, a mom and a dad that have to be worried about you so badly. I don't want to take you away from that."
"Well... what if you joined my family instead? I really like your piano playing, and I wanna hear more of it every day. My mom and dad wouldn't mind."
"Hmmm..." Serena hummed as she rubbed her chin. She was weighing the options back and forth seriously in her mind. On the one hand, she wanted to see how far this rabbit hole would go. On the other hand, she was terrified of what she would find, and the knowledge that she couldn't back out if she chose to accept her fate didn't help it that much. Clearly, there was only one option. She reached into her bag and pulled out...an American quarter.
"My dad gave me this when he visited America a few years ago. Heads, I'll accept my destiny. Tails, I'll walk right out the door and forget I saw anything. If I can't decide, I might as well leave it to fate."
And with that, she flicked the coin with her thumb, watching it launch into the air before it landed right on the ground. She looked down at the coin and saw the face of George Washington staring right back at her.
The coin had, indeed, landed on heads.

"Appearance is a medium to get your student to pay attention too, after all, Isono-kun," Hikaru pointed out. "There is a striking range between "too distracting to focus on what being taught" and "too boring" when it comes to visual accompaniment on how you teach. For example, if I was in my dragon form, surely you would be WAY TOO DISTRACTED to even pay attention to my teaching? But if I were to just dress up normally, in very normal salaryman kind of look with sideswept short hair, with non eyecatching hair color, won't I look too boring? Sometimes, visual eye candy is expected, don't you think? Would you not say this eccentric look of a teacher in kimono suits me a lot?"
Happy? "...We were... and I guess, we still are happy. If we were told to go back to that era and change something... we would probably all agree that the only thing that we would like to change is to give ourselves more time to prepare for the adventure to come... It's... a hard life, but... it was terrificly blissful. To share your life with someone you cares about... it wasn't even the kind of love that you would say to your spouse or lover... but... it feels like loving another part of yourself. I could, truthfully, if asked that is, tell people that I do love my human partner, with all my heart."
"It sounded like a complicated kind of love," Daichi pointed out.
"Complicated? Oh no, no... it's in fact, the simplest kind. It's something different than loving a lover or spouse, slightly closer to loving a family, but... it's not just it. You can live without your family, you love them, but you can set boundaries with them... you don't need to set boundaries with your chosen partner, because you're just so joined at the hip that you understand one another so much. That's the kind of relationship that we have. Sort of... platonic life partner. Like we're one half of a whole. So different, yet so similar. Different species, yet felt like two side of the same coin."
Hikaru sighed. "I'm sorry, I just tend to get very emotional and melancholic everytime I discussed these feelings. but I hope you understand... no matter how painful, no matter how sad, this is the life that we chose. There are plenty of regrets... yes, plenty, and I cannot express how many times we wish we could change something but... if there's something that we wouldn't, it's the fact that we're together in this life."
But then he looked back at Serena. "...But it doesn't mean that life is for everyone. It is not Neverland, or a place where you can go saying you live there happily ever after. Being chosen means you can get pulled to dangerous situation all the time, like I said. Also, having partner with family... well, it doesn't mean that they can't come here to visit or vice versa. Think of it as having an additional family rather than... "I take them from their family". I have sons and daughters with partners, you see. They're still doing well. I visited them now and then."
Coinflip. Hikaru cannot say that he approved of it, but... well, let the fate decide either way... and fate is a fickle mistress. He saw the coin landed on head.
"...I guess that's the last chance for you if you want to back out."

Wow... Serena had to hand it to Lux-sensei, his reasoning for why he did stuff like wear kimonos to work was pretty sound. Not only that, but he was very confident about doing so, as if he had no regrets at all. Serena just crossed her arms and smirked. "Yeah, it does suit you quite a bit, honestly."
Serena had one thing right, that the kids in that picture looked happy. Hikaru even admitted that the only thing he'd wish that could be changed was that they were given more time to prepare for what they were getting themselves into. The way Hikaru described the good sides of this kind of life made it sound... well, almost kind of appealing. Someone to spend your life with, joined at the hip without the need to set boundaries. Serena loved Reo as a friend, but even then, she didn't feel like she could tell her everything. Maybe something like this was what she needed...
After Hikaru was done reminiscing, he looked over at Serena and warned her once again that this life wasn't for everyone. The Digital World wasn't a place where happily ever afters were found, and being chosen can get her pulled into many dangerous situations. "I can protect you if that ever happens, Serena," Gem spoke up once again. "I'll stay by your side, always! Just like my dad did for Adrian! I'll be a good partner like he is!"
"That's right... being 'Chosen' doesn't mean I'll be facing any of what you say alone, does it?" Serena asked Hikaru. The Digimon in disguise also mentioned that becoming Gem's partner wouldn't be taking him from his family... but rather, adding Serena to his. There was really only one way that Serena could be satisfied with her decision in the end: a coin flip.
And as fate would have it, the coin landed on the ground right on heads. Hikaru once again warned Serena that this would be her last chance to back out. Serena simply smiled. "You can't go against the coin flip, Lux-sensei," Serena told him. "Otherwise, what's the point?" She then turned towards Gem and got on her knees. "I don't know what's gonna be in store for us, but if I really am Chosen to be with you, then I wanna see it towards the very end." She extended her hand towards the Gammamon. "What do you say?"
Gem's eyes lit up at that question before he raised his left arm up. "Aye! I'll be the very bestest partner ever, Serena!" he cheered before he accepted Serena's handshake.
Just then, Serena got a text on her phone. "Excuse me one moment," she said as she pulled her phone out of her bag. But the phone itself wasn't displaying a normal message. The screen was black while white text was all that could be seen: Serena Isono...
Do you truly wish to be Chosen, despite knowing all that it entails?
<Yes> <No> "Okay... this clearly isn't normal..." Serena muttered to herself. "Well, the answer is at least obvious." Without thinking twice, she pressed the "Yes" option that she was provided with on her smartphone. And just like that, digitized code shot out of the phone and surrounded itself around Serena's left wrist. "AH-!" she yelped, not expecting such a thing to happen.
The digitized code would then form into a shape before transforming entirely into a Digivice. One that looked a lot like a sporty smart watch, complete with a red band in a similar style to the one on Gem's left arm. The last words that appeared on her smartphone before it went back to normal then appeared:
PARTNER SYNCED. DNA SEQUENCE CONFIRMED. TAMER RECOGNIZED. WELCOME, SERENA ISONO.

"And it's thanks to these clothes that everyone is quite interested in my literature class~ Oh, though it might also because my puppet theater and witty examples~"
"...Come to think of it, I gawked the first time you came out with an entire puppet theater and all the sock puppets..." Daichi mused. "That was absolutely unorthodox. Like, sure it would be silly, and at first I thought you're treating us like little kids, but... turned out it's quite the funny performance, and I liked it."
"Here's the thing, Shiki-kun. Even theater with dolls are not something that are limited to certain age. You might say "but demographics!"... well, visual thing isn't limited to just for kids. Sure there are age range where a certain medium is accepted more without resistance, but... By nature, performances are ageless. It's just subjective whether you like it or not... but think of it. No one will make fun of you for liking puppet show with great stories."
"And so you aim to prove it to us that your eccentric ways will eventually captures our heart?"
"That's the case, yes."
To Serena's question, Hikaru nodded. ".....it's not just you, it'll be two of you. Two lives," he opened his hands, then clapped it together. "...together. This is the essence of partnership. To the end you shall walk, but you will not walk alone."
Though on the coinflip he had something to say "Well no, the point of coinflip is to know your heart's desire. If you wish with all your heart "I don't want this", then regardless of what the coin's decision is, you must abide to your heart and not do it. That's why they said "when you're in doubt, coinflip". It's not that you should follow what the coin say, but more to the fact that you should do what your heart tells you to do once veil of doubt is lifted."
...And looks like the procedure is complete. "...At least your phone isn't turning into Digivice," Hikaru joked. "My partner's did, and it caused SUCH A BAD TIME for the first week. I think he still blames the digivice for nearly causing his middle school score dips. Oh he was like 15 back then."

Serena just slowly nodded when Hikaru proudly proclaimed that it was his clothes that made the students interested in his literature class. Serena couldn't speak for the other students, but she and Reo have definitely made fun of his choice in wardrobe behind his back on more than one occasion. She didn't have the heart to actually admit that though, especially now that she knows he was a Digi-whatever. Ah yes, the sock puppet theater performances. Serena remembered those shows well when she was in Lux-sensei's class. Despite what Lux was saying, however, Serena was just never that interested in puppet shows. Some of it was that she felt too old to enjoy them, but it was mostly due to just not being interested in them. She couldn't even watch those shows without cringing, if she was honest with herself. Still, though, she had to give points for creativity to her teacher. "I wanna see one of those puppet shows!" Gem cheered after hearing that Hikaru does those from time to time. Yep, Gammamon was definitely a child, alright. So, Serena and Gem were to be bonded for life, as it were. Sharing a life with someone else... someone who wasn't human. The thought of such a prospect kind of excited Serena. A whole new experience that not everyone would get to have, one that she never thought was even possible. Not only that, she found Gem incredibly charming despite him still being very young, and she was positive that she wanted the cute little guy in her life. And who knows, maybe he'd grow up along with her? However, Serena was not expecting the message to appear on her phone, or for the red-band smartwatch to suddenly appear on her wrist the way it did. She was so surprised by the event that she wasn't even listening to Hikaru explain how his own partner's phone turned into a Digivice. "This thing just appeared on my wrist, like it was magic!" she cried out, holding onto her arm. "This is a... Digivice? What does it do?"
"The Digivice does a ton of cool things." Gem explained to Serena. "It lets you give your power to me for a bit so that I can fight better. All Tamers have one!"
"So I use this... to make you stronger?" Serena asked for confirmation. Huh, the more I think about it, the more this kinda reminds me of Medabots. She then looked down at her Digivice and asked, "So... how am I supposed to do that, exactly?"
Gem just shrugged in response to that question, causing Serena to sweat-drop. "Thanks for the help. Shiki-kun, you must have one, right? Do you know how it works?"
Right at that moment, the lights in the room would then go out. Not only would they go out, but the light would get brighter for a split second before the bulb inside shattered completely. "ACK!" Serena yelped as she stepped back from the shattered ceiling light. If one were to listen closer, they'd hear that more lights like that were shattering outside.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
"Lux-sensei, are you there?!" came the voice of a female student from outside the door. The tone of her voice indicated that she was panicked in some way. "Lux-sensei, Matsui got electrocuted! Please, someone be in there!"
Serena's eyes widened when she heard that. Matsui-senpai...?!

"Mmm, maybe one day," Hikaru answered to Gem's desire to watch puppet show. "After all I think light show with magic is better... come to think of it, should I do it I wonder... a special projector or sort... that could work well with my magic..."
Hikaru did not say anything that Serena decided to ask Daichi how it works though... well, she certainly forgot that there's a six years experienced Digimon here, huh? Well, he's not going to say anything, just glancing at Daichi taesingly, while Daichi glanced at him like asking for help but... in the end he was the one asked. Their Digivice model seem to be the same too.
"........Frankly speaking... it's very instinct based," Daichi answered. "....I mean, it's fairly hands on and you'll know what I mean when we're in combat. Because it's mostly activated in combat. Then again, my Digivice is apparently quite faulty... Other Digivice could enter Digital World. Mine actively blocking me from entering Digital World for some reason."
But their conversation was interrupted by the exploding light. It made Daichi yelp and Geo woke up. "...There's a strange vibe in the air," the dragon Digimon commented.
"Hang on, you four, don't move around," Hikaru told the two. "Let's see... there," he's back to his Digimon form again, with light ball on his hand. He conjured wind and vacuumed the entire floor, putting glass shards from the lamp to the trash bin. "Are you alright?" he asked just in case.
But then came the banging. Hikaru quickly put on his holosuit again. "Yes, I'm here, please give me a moment!" he hollered. Thankfully he got the emergency flashlight ready on his hand... only to drops it when he heard what happened.
"Oh fuck me, fuck it all," he cursed under his breath. The door practically flew open right after he made sure Geo and Gem is covered. "Shiki-kun, Isono-kun, follow me. You, guide me there. Have you called the school nurse or ambulance?"
"Sensei!?" Daichi asked.
"In case you forgot, Shiki-kun, Matsui-kun is part of this side."
Daichi's face paled as he understood what exactly does that means. Could it be another targeted attack?
"Do tell me what happened if you could." Hikaru told the student. "Also I'd like you to empty the room right after I come in, alright? With exception of Isono-kun and Shiki-kun, please make everyone else leave the premise. I'll probably need to call ambulance just in case... That sudden surge could be lethal, but I hope she wasn't in direct contact with any direct power source..."

As interested in seeing a magical light show as Gem was, or as much as Serena wanted to hear more about the Digivice, all conversation was halted when the light in the room shattered. Not only did Serena yelp in response to the event, but so did Daichi in a slightly comedic way. It even caused Geo to wake up, stating that he felt a strange vibe in the air. "I feel it, too," Gem responded.
Hikaru then reverted back to his Dorumon form in order to clean up the broken glass on the ground via magic, before asking if the others were alright. "Y-Yeah, just a bit spooked... why did the light just burst like that?"
Then came the banging on the door. Hikaru quickly turned his holosuit back on as he searched for his emergency flashlight, only to drop it as soon as he heard that Kaya Matsui was the one who got electrocuted. This news immediately got him more tense than ever. Which made sense, considering that Kaya was one of his students, and a student getting hurt would be enough for any teacher to grow tense. He immediately threw the door open after Gem and Geo hid, asking for Serena and Daichi to accompany him and asking the student to explain what happened. Thankfully for Daichi and Hikaru, Serena didn't hear the comment about Kaya being on "this side."
"I-It all happened so fast," the student explained as she led Hikaru, Serena and Daichi to the scene, sounding completely distraught. "Matsui-chan was helping me with a school project on the computer when the lights above us just suddenly exploded. The computer monitors started acting weird too before a bolt of lightning shot out of the screen that she was sitting at. You were the first person I could think to run to, Lux-sensei."
The female student opened up the door to the computer room, allowing the three to enter inside. The light above was shattered, with glass pieces on the ground, and all the monitors were cracked or damaged in some way. There was a student in the corner away from the computers, tearing up and talking to what could only be assumed as a 1-1-9 call. Three more students were crowded around the unconscious body of Kaya Matsui, signs of electrocution present on her body such as burns.
"Matsui-senpai!" Serena cried out as she immediately ran over to her senpai, getting onto her knees and looking down at her badly hurt upperclassman. Tears started running down her face as she covered her mouth with her hands. Hikaru mentioned that the surge could've been lethal... but Matsui couldn't be dead! She just couldn't be! Not the one who Serena admired all throughout middle school! The faint memory of being given a canned drink from her as a "good luck tonight" gift before a recital played in her mind. "Matsui-senpai... no..."
"This is happening all over Shibuya right now," a male student piped up, pulling up a news article showcasing a situation such as this happening at multiple venues, either with aftermath images or with recorded video. "It's like anything electrical is just exploding out of nowhere."

Bolt of lightning, definitely a Digimon attack. "I'm flattered, but next time call the school nurse. I only have the basic first aid skill needed... but still, perhaps this is blessing in disguise because I do have what it needs to neutralize shock," Lux-sensei answered. "Now I believe you know what to do?" he asked just in case.
The moment they arrived at the scene, Lux-sensei quickly snapped his finger. It was LOUD, enough to turn everyone's attention to him. "Those who have called the emergency service, should talk still. Tell the situation to them in clear detail. Those who are just here to look around... get out. In order! I expect you to go outside the building if there's an event like this again, but calmly. Now let me get to work. Isono-kun..." ah she's not in condition to help much. "Shiki-kun, grab nearby broom and sweep the broken glasses away, please. Also... have anyone turn off all the breakers?" Hikaru asked just in case. If not, go tell the school janitor to do that."
Daichi grabbed a broom quickly and do as was told. Geo... still not reacting. Daichi then closed the door and stand guard there. Of course Lux-sensei checked for pulse and breathing. Just in case also, he looked at Kaya's digivice in case Hawkeye is around... not.
"Fuck." he cursed under his breath. "Alright, Kaya, I'm not going to take your first kiss or something like that, no. Pretty sure you prefer prince charming more than just a furry king."
Hikaru quickly takes off his holosuit yet again. "But this gonna be a bit shocking. Geo, come here, I'd like your help too."
The box scooted over. It would have looked humorous for real if it wasn't for the fact that it was a serious situation. Hikaru concentrated his healing power between his palm while Geo concentrated earth's power on his body before blowing it slowly at Kaya's unconscious body. Hikaru soon followed. His healing is more pulse type than Geo's. It's like they're both doing CPR in way of healing magic. In Hikaru's case, the compression press while in case of Geo, the breath.
"....Alright, she should be fine now..." and now the entire room stopped humming as if electricty has ceased to flow. "And that's the power breaker turned off." Hikaru pointed out. He turned the holosuit back on. "For the meantime we should hand Matsui-kun to the EMT just in case any further treatment is needed... And to not make it too suspicious sadly I did not treat her burns. I don't think it's wise to put on cold compress there anyway in computer room like this... Shiki-kun, lift her."
"Eh!?"
"I'm the third Digimon here, if thing goes south I need to be in battle ready form. You understand, right?"
"Y-yes, but until when?"
"Oh just bring her outside, away from any electric power source."
Daichi nodded and started to lift Kaya just in case. Thankfully his bouldering hobby helped him in lifting her. "Just in case, we're not bringing her outside the building, right?"
"I think the shaking from the stairs could be more harmful than good without proper care so..."
"Right."
"Anyway I---"
"Something's coming!" Geo shouted, but it was too late. Suddenly a blast of electricity hits Hikaru straight on his chest, cancelling his Holosuit and blasting him to the wall. The purple dragon Digimon embedded on the wall, unconscious, his limbs twitched now and then, and his form glitching out several times.
"SENSEI!!"
The culprit revealed itself soon enough.. a ball of thunder, with an oddly twisted expression...
"Aberrant-!" Geo pointed out. Daichi's heart dropped the moment he heard it.

"I'm sorry sir, I just panicked and everyone else was panicking, I wasn't thinking straight..." the student said, mentally kicking herself for not doing the obvious thing and going straight to the nurse. At least Lux-sensei did happen to have what was needed to help Kaya at this moment.
Lux-sensei made it clear that he wanted everyone, bar a couple of students he had chosen, to leave the area at once. Of course, the kids didn't want to invoke his fury so they all left as instructed, with the girl on the phone still talking with the emergency service line as she left. Once everyone was gone, Gem would fly in to join the others. The main thing he saw was Serena kneeling next to... oh god, Gem knows that human girl! What happened to her?! The main thing was that Serena was very upset about this girl being hurt, and Gem had to do something to help his new partner. He floated over to Serena and placed a hand on her arm. "Serena... don't cry. She's going to be okay. Hikaru will fix everything, remember?"
Serena sniffled as she wiped the tears away from her eyes, giving a hopeful smile towards the white dinosaur. "Y-Yeah, you're right, Gem... I know she's going to be alright." While she and Gem were talking, she coincidentally missed the part where Hikaru was checking Kaya's Digivice. And of course, Hawkeye was unfortunately not there at the moment, thanks to a bad judgement call from both him and Kaya that morning. So, they were on their own when it came to helping Kaya today.
Serena and Gem would then step back once Hikaru and Geo both started using their magic to presumably heal Kaya up, barring things like the shock burns so that it wouldn't look too suspicious. Once they were done, Hikaru claimed that Kaya would be fine after that. "You really think so? I just... could a Digimon have done something like this? Electric explosions like this don't just happen."
Ah yeah, it would be best to bring Kaya to the EMT for now. Daichi would be the one to pick her up, with some discussion about keeping her in the building. Serena didn't care, just as long as Kaya got the help she needed. But before anything could've been done, Gem and Geo could sense something coming. However, it was too late, as a bolt of lightning came seemingly out of nowhere and hit Hikaru right in the chest, pushing him into the wall and canceling his holosuit before the Dorumon went completely unconscious.
"KING HIKARU!" Gem cried out.
The culprit then revealed itself. It looked like a ball of thunder, with short arms and legs, floating in midair with a twisted grin on its face. "Something feels weird about this Digimon! It's giving off the worst of the worst kinds of vibes!"
Geo called this thing an Aberrant... whatever that was, Serena didn't care. It was obvious who was behind all of this now. "You... you..." Serena growled as she and Gem began to step closer to the Digimon in perfect sync. Any sense of fear that was present in Serena had then vanished, replaced by an intense feeling of sheer anger towards this creature that harmed innocent people. "I don't know what you are, but I don't care! I'm gonna make you pay!"
"I'm gonna make you go kaboom!" Gammamon yelled as he ran towards the ball of thunder, his left claw pulled back as it charged with energy.
[Break-Claw]
Wh-what the-?! No. Serena didn't care what that was. If it helped to stop this thing that hurt people she cared about, then so be it!
"Break-Claaaaaaaw!"
Gem uses "Break-Claw" on the enemy Digimon.

Break-Claw: Gem charges his left arm with photon energy, as seen by the red wristband glowing orange, before he strikes the enemy with it. Cooldown is one post.

That Thunderballmon... The face reminds Daichi of the Frags. There's something about it... wait, what did that Agumon told him about the Frags again? That they're kind of concentration of certain darker emotions? ...Aberrants are Frag infested Digimons, whose data basically got jumped on and then their emotions kind of manipulated. Aberrants in turn behaves like like someone who have fallen into their own vices, and they're none the wiser. Hating chosen and Digimons... also their bonds, these Digimons basically beyond helping. It's as if their intoxicated heart suddenly is given super potent, addictive material.
And looking at this Thunderballmon... It's vice is probably... Sadism
"Khihihihi..." the Digimon laughed. "The clown king, wearing skin of human! Pariah of all Digimons, licking the feet of human! Khihihihi! False king, false king, he's dead, he's DEAD!"
"VARKHR--!! (Be silent!!)" Geo suddenly roared. The roar snapped Daichi enough from his daze. Data flows through him... Geo's anger, Geo's battle spirit, he feels it.
[Origin Blast] "Origin Blast!"
"Uoooooooooooo---!!" flow of data from the computers, all of it concentrated around Geo as he builds up his attack. The Vishamon's pupil sharpened into slits. The red lines on his body shone as he used his passive to forcefully gather all power needed to fire the attack. The moment The Thunderballmon dodged the Breaclaw, he was ready. Geo released the origin blast attack at the Thunderballmon. The thunderballmon might be small, but it was taking the two child stage lightly-- which was its undoing as Geo's blast hits it squarely- only thanks to Gem's Breaclaw.
A huge BOOM resounded as several PC exploded from the attack that Geo did, Even if the attack missed, with that explosion, unlikely that the Thunderballmon came out unscathed. Daichi qucikly ran outside to put Kaya somewhere safe from the attack.
But no matter how strong the two child stages are... this one is still an adult stage. The Thunderballmon... grinned, grinned with such a twisted emotions that it sent chill to Geo's spine. His fight or flight instinct kicking in, but he refuses to actually move. Hikaru is behind him. He have to protect his daisenpai...! He instead opted to circle the Digimon.
"You dare... youdareyoudareyoudareyoudareyoudareyoudareyoudareyoudareyoudareyoudareyoudareyoudareyoudareyoudareyoudareyoudareyoudareyoudareyoudareyoudareyoudareyoudareyoudareyoudareyoudareyoudareyoudareyoudareyoudareyoudareyoudareyoudareyoudareyoudareyoudareyoudareyoudareyoudareyoudareyoudareyoudareyoudareyoudareyoudareyoudareyoudareyoudareyoudare!?"
Daichi just returned, but he felt something eerily terrifying... did... did that Digimon broke?
"YOU DARE TO ACTUALLY HIT ME! HOW DARE YOU!? I'LL TEAR YOU LIMBS TO LIMBS, TRAITOR! YOU, WHO JUST LIKE THAT STUPID KING, ONE WHO GROVELS IN FRONT OF HUMAN JUST TO GET POWER BEYOND WHAT THE WORLD GIVES! YOU'RE NO ONE SPECIAL, JUST A TRAITOR WITH WALKING BATTERY!!"
The Digimon in its anger tosses ball of concentrated electricity at Geo. He aimed to dodge them the best he could, but even then, one strikes him midair.
"Guuuuaaaaaaaaahhhhhh---!!" Geo screamed in pain. It nearly made him fell to the ground, but he toughened himself up.
"And don't think I forgot about you, little rat!" With the same ball of electricity, the Aberrant attacked Gem!
