Despite taking her pills, Gotsumon continued trying to discuss things with Carrie. The digimon talked on and on about things the girl couldn't understand, was too young to discuss, or just plain didn't want to talk about. After hours and hours of listening to this digimon ramble on and on, she was growing tired and annoyed. But there was nothing she could do. She couldn't tell her to shut up, her parents would think she was hearing voices again, and the cat would be out of the bag about the digital world... or that she'd gone off the deep end. Either way it would not be good if they found out. But she needed SOMETHING to shut up this digimon, or at least to talk to someone about it.
Her therapist was an obvious first choice, but again raised the issue of the whole "spilling the secrets of the digital world" to normal people. Not to mention that she'd have to find another prescription drug to deal with the voices AND not be powerful enough to stunt her physical and mental growth. Her friends? ...No, they were "normal" as well. Her new friends? ...Yeah, they could help. Mana and Ayaka were probably the best choice but she actually doubted Mana would give any actual advice other than to buck up and suggest going on an adventure.
This brought her to the other two options: The girl named AJ and the boy named Hiro, as well as their digimon; Patch and Tetsu. They knew she was weird and she was a spirit user, they'd help her... th-they said they would... they had too. She picked up the phone and dialed the numbers, leaving a message on the machines if they didn't pick up or just plain stuttering and asking them to come to her house if they did.
All she could do after that was play the waiting game.

Hiro had been a bit surprised when the girl called him, but a bit of prodding from Tetsu got the teen to agree to the meet the girl. She had sounded pretty distressed on the phone and he was kind of curious on the whole spirit thing and other Digivice. So grabbed a jacket, threw Tetsu into his messenger bag and headed out to meet the odd girl.
"Ne, ne Hiro, what do you think Carrie wants?" It looks like Tetsu had picked up his habit of calling people by their first name and ignoring Keigo. He hoped that wouldn't bite them later on, but he thought it was kind of adorable in that precocious way.
"Dunno. Probably something Digimon related." Hiro replied.
"Hmm, I wonder if she's having problems with her new partner." Tetsu wondered aloud. "Not all partners get along."
"And how would you know that?" Hiro looked down at Tetsu, an eyebrow raised in confusion. All the digimon they've met so far were well cared for and seemed to get along with their partners.
"Because not all digimon are good and not all humans are good." Tetsu replied softly. "And there are bound to be ones that mistreat the other."
Hiro grimaced at the statement, but found that he couldn't refute it. It was kind of awkward to hear such a cynical statement from the tiny fox. That was normally his job. Well, if they were doing role reversals.
Tetsu looked up when Hiro patted him on the head. "If we ever run into someone like that, we'll just have to show them the light, buddy."
"Yes." Tetsu smiled brightly at his Tamer before popping his head over the edge of the bag and pointing his head forwards. "Now onwards, to Carrie!"

Is this where the interstate ends?In coastal towns like this Waiting for my world to cave under We seem to invent ourselves In the places left unknown If hope could only find me out
Avery had been lying down on the couch downstairs, flipping through channels when Anberlin's Hello Alone had rung. AJ blinked, wondering why the ringtone she had picked for unknown calls was playing. She arched backwards and fumbled for her phone that was resting on the coffee table beside the couch. She held the mobile close to her face, eyes flickering at the unknown number. Narrowing her gaze, she hit the green button to accept the call. "Pronto?" she asked.
That's when the insistent chatter had begun and she sighed then frowned. How had Carrie gotten her number? "Sorry," she said, switching to English, "calm down, calm down. I'll be there in a few. Where do you live? Okay, okay. And he's on his way, right?" she asked. Okay, gotcha. I'll be there in a few. Let me grab a few things.
She pressed "end call" and stood up, pocketing her phone into her jeans. The fifteen-year-old tamer dashed upstairs. Patch glanced at her from his perch on the window sill where he had been watching birds. "We gotta go. It's Carrie."
The cat-like Digimon's eyes widened, but he nodded. She grabbed her D3 and D-terminal off the desk and pushed them into the front flap of her backpack. Grabbing Patch, she placed him gently into the backpack and hoisted it between her shoulders. Thankfully since he was in his Nyaromon form, he was comfortable. After returning from the Digital World for the first time, she had discovered he come at will "dedigivolve" so most of the time he remained at the in-training stage unless he needed to go Rookie.
She gave a once over her room, determining if she needed anything else, then descended. Shouting a quick goodbye to her mom before she could protest, she simply gave the explanation that she was going to meet a study group from school.
It had taken her about fifteen minutes to job, or rather quickly walk to the residential area. It was about five blocks down the street from Society Hill, where she resided. Her azure gaze flickered over the suburban like buildings before she stepped up to the front door and rang the bell, waiting for an answer.

Carrie opened the door carefully, making sure it was who she was expecting. Sighing in relief, she motioned the Italian girl in, closing the door behind her. "Oh thank god, OK... OK... j-just lemme clear my head... Whatever is going to just transpire might look like I've gone completely insane but... trust me, m-my medicine is working a-and I-I mean, th-that's not what my medicine's for! I-I-I... I met my partner... k-kinda... b-but she won't stop talking an-and I need her to stop a-and... c-can you hear her? Sh-she's trying to introduce herself... Sh-she said you're... OK... listen... y-you're probably not hearing her... uh... I-I..." She looked at her Digivice and looked up at her guest. She had no clue what she had to do to activate the change, so as she was fumbling with the thing it just made her look crazier than she really was.
After a disturbingly awkward time, The ring of data surrounded her hand. She tried to show it to her guest before her body began forcing her through the motions of spirit digivolution. The bright light shone throughout the house before a Gotsumon stood where she once was. "I... meet my partner?" She said in the gravelly voice, unsure how her mind had decided this was a good idea.

Hiro had gotten a little lost. He had never gotten a good grasp of Shibuya's layout before moving away and the time in America had not aided his mental map of the area. So he had arrived a little later than he wanted. He found the address that Carrie had given him with only a little trouble and Tetsu constantly whining that he should ask for directions.
"See, we found it. We're here." Hiro growled angrily at his bag.
"We would have been here faster if you just asked for directions." The bag whined back.
"Whatever, let's just..." Hiro took a deep breathe here to calm himself down and brushed his bangs out of the way of his eye, a futile motion since the hair fell back into place a moment later. "Let's just go in and help Carrie."
"Mmm, I think there are a few Digimon in there." Tetsu flipped open the cover of the messenger bag and popped his head out. "Though one of them kind of feels weird."
Hiro looked over at his partner, but just got a shrug in return. He rolled his eyes and raised a fist to the door, knocking loudly and calling out. "Hello, anyone here?"

AJ blinked owlishly when Carrie opened up the door and began chattering. Something about her medicine and something about "she won't stop talking." The Italian tamer just watched in silence as the other girl fumbled with her Digivice. The one that marked her as a Spirit Wielder. It was very different from her own D3 model.
AJ's blue eyes widened as a data ring circled Carrie's hand and she began to draw in on herself, quickly replaced by a short rock-like humanoid Digimon. AJ rummaged through her backpack and pulled out her D3. The Digivice gave her the reading on a Gotsumon. Basically it a rock type Rookie. When Carrie told her to meet her partner, what did she mean, partner? This wasn't a partner. You didn't turn into your partner.
Just as AJ was about to say something, a knocking sounded at the door and a voice echoed, "Hello, anyone there?" AJ glanced back over her shoulder at Carrie-turned-Gotsumon, then turned back around to answer the door. Her shoulders slumped in relief as she saw it was just Hiro behind the door.
"Tetsu!" Patch called, popping his head out from her backpack still dangling on one shoulder.
"Thank God you're Hiro," she said, her eyes dancing to the right. Turning back around, she gave a wry smile. "Meet Carrie's partner."

Carrie was silent as Hiro and Tetsu joined them. Thoughts ran through her mind like packs of wild animals, trying desperately to think of something to do. Her body, however, it seemed, was far ahead of her. "Heya kid!" came the gravelly voice of Gotsumon... from her lips. "You got no idea how good I feels ta get outta dat head, eh?" The gravelly voice asked, taking Hiro's hand and shaking vigorously with her vice-like grip. As Carrie walked across the floor in this form she thanked the heavens above that she had carpeting, so her parents couldn't see whatever cracks it would form in any other type of floor.
"Ya lookin' fer Carrie? Ya juuuust misster." She smiled... as much as a rock monster with no real facial features could smile at least. "Yer kinda cute, fer a human." Carrie immediately took back control after this. "Ah! I'm here! I'm here! I'm not... ah-she's not in control anymore, oh god... oh god, that didn't happen the first time... Oh god, that's even worse than the problem before, oh geeze..." She looked at Hiro, shaking her rock-fists. "Th-that wasn't me! That was Gotsumon... t-the real gotsumon... I-I'm Carrie! I'm Carrie... r-right now at least... I-I think... I-I'm not sure if this is happening..." She checked for her medication before realizing that it, along with most of her clothing, had vanished on transformation.

Hiro was pleasantly surprised when A.J. greeted them at the door. It was always nice to see a friendly face and hopefully she could help a bit with whatever Carrie was going through. The last thing he needed was for it to be some weird girl problem that he did not understand.
Walking in and see a golem made of rocks was kind of weird. Digimon seriously came in all kinds of shapes and forms. Hearing that it was Carrie's partner filled Hiro with a bit of relief. The girl had found her partner alright.
Hearing the cry of one of his friends, Tetsu popped out of Hiro's bag and ran over to A.J.'s legs and hopped on two legs so that he was leaning on her. He looked up at Patch with a bright smile. "Hi Patch!"
Hiro ignored his partner for the moment since he had more pressing things to attend to. Like the rock golem that was giving him a handshake and speaking in an accent and making no sense at all. His puzzlement only grew when the rock said that they missed Carrie and that... he was cute?
Normally, Hiro would blush at the compliment. He wasn't really used to them, especially revolving around his looks, so it would be enough get him flustered, just a little. But when the compliment was delivered by an odd rock creature, it kind of killed any feeling other than more confusion.
"Are you... flirting with me?" Hiro tilted his head to the side as his brain attempted and failed to reboot.
Then the Digimon's voice changed to something a lot more familiar and a lot less fitting for the Gotsumon. A panicked female voice that filled Hiro with dread as things started to get clearer. "Carrie?"
Both Tetsu and Hiro froze at the sudden change in voice and personality. "Oh God... did you turn into a Digimon?"

AJ just watched in confusion as a different voice emitted from Carrie's new found body. This voice was much more gravely and rough. It was like Carrie had turned into a whole different person, er, Digimon. Of course she had turned into a Digimon. AJ had just watched it. Her gaze glanced back over to Hiro who had the same bewildered look on his face.
Patch bounced around, happy to have a friend to play with again. He whipped around to see the Gotsumon. "Oh, do we have another friend, now?"
AJ just shushed Patch and turned back to the matter at hand. When Hiro asked if the rock Digimon was flirting with him, she couldn't help but put her hand to her mouth and try to stifle a giggle. "I think you have an admirer, Hiro."
She straightened up when Carrie's voice returned to the rock-made body, the expression on her face becoming more serious. "Yeah, she just kinda...changed. Maybe this is what it means to be a Spirit Wielder. It would explain why her Digivice was different too."
[OOC: sorry for the blah post.]

Carrie nodded. "Um... yeah... b-but this is a problem... she, I-I think it's a she, j-just um... OK... l-lemme..." She took a deep breath. "I am a spirit wielder, a-apparently it means I can find the spirits of certain digimon a-and... th-their souls a-are put into my body a-and... I can call them using the Digivice..." She did, however, know where her Digivice was and she held it out in front of them. "B-but only when I'm ready, apparently..."
Her voice switched once again, this time being with laughter. "Ah... ah what a good kid. so yeah, I'm stickin' with her. She's probably upset because she's "hearing my voice" and nobody else is, go figure. If she just told me to stop that would be nice instead of having to call other kids over... even if one of them is a cutie~" The Gotsumon said, eyeing Hiro with a grin... "Oh-ho-ho! And you brought pets!" The Gotsumon wandered over to Tetsu and Patch, laughing as she went to pick up the little purple digimon.

That was very different. A Tamer (would that even be the right term?) that didn't partner with a Digimon, rather they transformed into one. Hiro mentally grimaced as he recalled his previous thought about Tamers fighting the Digimon themselves. He really should have known not to jinx himself. The transformation did explain the odd Digivice. He doubted the D-3 could do such a transformation.
"I... uh..." All of this was going though Hiro's head as he stared at the Gotsumon with an expression of startled confusion, though he did shoot A.J. a look of complete betrayal when she remarked on the flirting. "That is... interesting..." It really was, but Hiro was too confused to really appreciate it.
Tetsu let himself get picked up and smiled at the Gotsumon. "Hiya. I'm Tetsu. So you're Carrie's partner." The Digimon looked over the Gotsumon before nodding. "Alright, please take care of her."
"Uh... yeah... please try to keep if down if you can. Carrie seems to be... rather..." Oh god, he was way too confused to be tactful. How was he supposed to put this delicately. "Easily startled?"

AJ watched in wonder as the rock-like Digimon switched voices. It was almost like watching a monologue with an actor that had really good voice-acting abilities. One minute it was the low fast-paced sound of a scared girl, the next it was the gravely voice of the Gotsumon.
She briefly wondered what it would be like to be a Digimon. Or rather, a human that turned into a Digimon. It seemed like you would fight for your own body. Two spirits, inhabiting one body. AJ made a startled noise when she remembered the girl's medicine that she had seen on the rooftop this day. Was this having any effect?
AJ spoke up next when Hiro commented that Carrie was easily startled. "Why is this happening? Who are you exactly and why does she turn into a Digimon? Is there anyway you can just let her have control of her body? This girl is really sick."

"Who's a little cutey? Who's a little cutie~" The Gotsumon began cuddling Tetsu... as much as a rock monster could cuddle something, anyway. "Yeah she's not good at listening either. I tell her to go explore the town, she tries to brush me off as "just something the medicine needs to bother with". Pah, all she thinks is I'm a disease... Anyway, it's happening because she was chosen. She could hear my voice calling to her. She found my soul, I latched onto her, and now we are one and the same. I'm Gotsumon... lemme start over, though. Long ago, I was just a normal gotsumon. There was a massive revolution and I happened to be dragged into the war... now, normally when Digimon die they become digieggs and start life anew, or become data and absorbed into other digimon..."
"What happened was kinda... half-and-half. I was killed and someone took my data... but not all of it. So I wasn't able to reform into a digi-egg proper, and my soul was balancing the edge of life and death... when THAT happens, then you're stuck until someone absorbs the rest of your data or the one holding your data is changed into an egg themselves. Until then, you're turned into a spirit. It's one thing when a digimon alone or with a partner finds them, it's another when a human alone does. Iiiiit's probably too early to spill all those beans right now, heck, I probably ran my mouth a bit about most of that, but relax. She has control of her human body, I have control of my digimon body. I can give it back to her if you want me too... but if she's sick maybe a little time alone would be good."
The digimon served as a bit of minor exposition before smiling brightly at the two tamers.

"This... this is a lot to take in." Hiro rubbed his temples as he contemplated everything he just heard. It was a rather enlightening conversation. It explained the life cycle of Digimon, some history and why Carrie was a Digimon. He had a lot more questions but he decided to start listing what he had learned. "So a Spirit user uses a literal spirit, a remnant of data from a Digimon to Digivolve themselves into that particular Digimon."
Tetsu squirmed a bit in Gotsumon's embrace. He was really glad that his hair was made of metal otherwise the rocky cuddling would have been a lot more uncomfortable.
"The odd Digivice probably is unique because of the transformation. I wonder if the Spirit Data is used to convert the user into a Digimon or place it within a shell. I mean... it just..." All the information and theories started to go through his head rapid fire and Hiro wanted it to stop. He wasn't meant for all of this theory crafting stuff. "Ugh, nevermind. This is way too complicated for me."
He knew that he promised to help Carrie, but he was way over his head now. He had barely any information on Digimon and Tamers, but this whole Spirit Tamer thing was just over the top. The fact that Gotsumon admitted to still keeping some secrets only convinced Hiro that this was way too much for him.
"You... you and Carrie need to set up some sort of deal." Hiro closed one eye as he looked at Gotsumon. "For her sake at least."

AJ just stared owlishly as the Gotsumon explained the whole process of becoming a Spirit Wielder. Sure, it had been pretty scary when she had become a tamer. She had been expected to take care of Patch and then when they had started getting into fights, she had been very hesitant. As of lately, she had learned that they were a team, and even though she hated fighting, she knew it was in Patch's blood to do so and she would stand by him and lend him the strength he needed to advance to the next level.
"She has control of her human body, I have control of my digimon body. I can give it back to her if you want me too... but if she's sick maybe a little time alone would be good."
AJ shook her head wildly, raven hair flying around her. "No, she doesn't need to be alone. That is the exact opposite of what she needs. I'm sure you mean no harm, but this girl is very scared and confused." AJ's blue eyes shone almost with anger. "What was it like for you, floating around without a body?"
"You... you and Carrie need to set up some sort of deal."
AJ nodded in agreement. When she spoke again, her voice still held that certain edge. "I agree with Hiro completely. Your situation is different from us. Our parents and ourselves are different entities, but we still have to work together as a team. I've recently learned that with Patch. We're stronger when we're in sync. So, you shouldn't just completely take over this poor girl's body. You need to work it out where she controls things. It's her body after all." She smiled a little softly after her rant. "I think she will be willing to work with you if you are nice about things."
