To celebrate the new V5 site, we have decided to re-implement the jobs system. For those of you that don't know what that is, your character does a job IC, and is paid some bits or posts. A quick easy way to get some cash fast. The rules are as follows: A member would be allowed to do four jobs per character, per month They would have the option of writing a minimum of ten paragraph post describing the work that they have done (only one post though to prevent farming for posts by posting two or three paragraphs at a time as a solo thread) To prevent creating a jumble of one-and-done threads, there would be a stickied thread in each of the MAIN BOARDS in the different boards for people to post their Job on. In that sense, it would work similar to the Mall. They would be considered IC posts and after so often, the posts would be archived to help keep things looking clean. Staff could check the thread regularly and award Bits to those who completed the task. Each Job will be worth 1500 Bits or 5 posts, unless otherwise stated on the job itself. Now if they really wanted to do something special, they can request an NPC with a staff and create their own thread. However, the minimum paragraphs posted would increase to 20, but the reward would also increase to 3000 Bits or 10 posts. Other Job Boards: Northern ProminenceWestern FlatlandsEastern TimberlandsSouthern TropicsThe Digital CoreDark AreaEmpyrean SkiesPlease put this template at the start of each post [b]Job:[b] [b]Bits or Posts:[b] Name of Job: Improving Rustport Reward Offered: 1500 bits or 5 posts Plot Description: Now, a while ago, some big ol' digimon broke this here Rustport town. Now, while the people out at Terminus don't seem to care enough to help us rebuild, some kind benefactor has given us some money. We need help, or Rustport won't be made into a city that anyone will ever come to fast enough for these digimon to feel safe. So, put simply. I give you money, you build stuff. Sound good? Name of Job: The lost Civilization Reward Offered: 1500 bits or 5 posts Plot Description: Have none of you wondered what happened to the digimon that used to live here? Really? None of you are completely fascinated by the ancient civilization that used to live in these temples! Well, lucky for the people of the worlds who actually pursue knowledge, I have recently come upon a research grant, and am willing to spend it to hire you to help me! You will be dusting ancient artifacts, archiving files in my expansive library, and other archaeological things. So, what do you say. Interested now?

Job: The Lost Civilization Bits or Post: Post, please
Have none of you wondered what happened to the digimon that used to live here?
Karin understood immediately why this guy need help. Jijimon-hakase is indeed a professor with extensive knowledge regarding the Digimon and ancient civilization. Karin certainly have no idea how long this Mega Digimon has been around, but with hurting back and really short body, Jijimon-hakase cannot reach high place and would need tall ladder to reach it. An extensive library like this is too much for the poor Digimon to maintain.
As much as people thought it's because her sympathy, it's not like that, not at all. Karin is merely interested in the stories... Alright, not true. At first she's here because of the stories. She really interested of what Digimon used to live there. The temple, what kind of God are they worshiping? These kind of story felt so juicy to her, a girl who literally says 'thank you for the meal' after reading a particularly interesting story. Perhaps, thanks to that, she often carries around light novels with her. For that kind of reason, she's ready to listen any kind of professor's rant.
But that reason immediately changed right after she saw the eldery Digimon.
"Oh, a human girl? What brings you here, young lady?" Jijimon-hakase asked.
...Honestly, the first impression was this guy is really sad. He might have research grants, but yet, he's not any different from other Jijimon. Bare, oversized feet, walking paw stick, really old appearance and short body... about the feet, it's covered in calluses and somehow it looks red from -perhaps- too much walking around barefooted. Research grant is Research grant afterall, and shouldn't be used for personal gain? While Karin's priority of why she chose this job has changed, it now has become 'killing two birds with one stone'
"Jijimon-hakase?"
"That would be me, yes. And you are...?"
"I'm known as Takamiya Karin. I'm here for the job. My partner here is Chessmon." Karin pointed at the Pawnchessmon who stood in front of her. True to her knightly nature, the Pawnchessmon bowed down slightly to the eldery Digimon.
"I'm sorry, who? I'm having hard trouble with hearing lately, young lady..." the Jijimon came closer to the two.
"Takamiya Karin and Chessmon," she repeated.
"Ah! Takamiya-kun and Chessmon-kun. Very well, very well... you two seem to be quite young... It's great that young ones like you interested in history, why don't I give you update of my research while you work for me?"
Chessmon turned to Karin. While she have no face, Karin somehow can guess that it's displeased. She guessed the white puppet Digimon does not like old man's rambling... perhaps stemming from experience? But to humor the old scholar, Karin took the offer. There's no harm in listening to an old man's rambling as she do the job either way... and once again, she reminded herself... she's a lover of interesting story, whatever kind it is.
"So you're saying that in your world, these beings called... Ah, Dinosaurs are fossilized instead of returning back to the origin of its life, an egg, when it died?"
"There's more than that, Professor. Basically there's this process..."
While the two chattering about, Pawnchessmon did her job of dusting the artifacts. She more or less already used to it since working on it few hours ago... But what she can't comprehend is why her Mistress somehow really interested on such chatter. She thought that she's the type that won't go buddybuddy on anyone, yet here she and Jijimon-hakase somehow engaged on such chemistry...
"Ahh, yes, yes, that way, it would makes great sense that you can also understand what kind of species living there beforehand! Such shame, such shame that we never have that kind of process..."
"Yes, it's a shame indeed, but to gain quite a lot of clues of ancient civilization like this, it's already amazing, in my opinion."
"Hardly, Takamiya-kun, hardly. We still need more clues..."
And their discussion continued. Pawnchessmon sighed once more. Karin did her job good, sorting various files, archiving it and whatnots, but still, she still have the energy to get into such discussion with the professor. As for her, while she's not the type that would sleep through a lecture, history lesson is not needed currently. They're here for job, bot for the information. She have no idea if they're wasting time or in fact saving it, but all she know, she want to get out of here as soon as possible.
Sadly, it won't happened anytime soon. Right now, the blond haired girl and the professor Digimon begin to talk about other ancient civilization, such as if there is castles or such around. Karin also shares quite number of facts of real world to the Digimon Professor, catching his interest. The girl who interested in Digimon and the Digimon who getting fired up after talking with the girl... The Digimon professor taught Karin more about the ancient history, about the murals and stuffs such as Digicodes.
"The two of them are rather hopeless."
"Say what?" both of the Tamer and the Digimon professor asked at the same time.
"Nevermind me."
Afterward, despite having to stay for a night in the study, Karin and Pawnchessmon did their job rather well. While the tamer left the study happily, the Digimon apparently... doesn't find this as amusing and hopes that this thing will never repeats itself.
JUN EDIT: Looks good, +1500 Bits
