To celebrate the new V5 site, we have decided to re-implement the jobs system. For those of you that don't know what that is, your character does a job IC, and is paid some bits or posts. A quick easy way to get some cash fast. The rules are as follows: A member would be allowed to do four jobs per character, per month They would have the option of writing a minimum of ten paragraph post describing the work that they have done (only one post though to prevent farming for posts by posting two or three paragraphs at a time as a solo thread) To prevent creating a jumble of one-and-done threads, there would be a stickied thread in each of the MAIN BOARDS in the different boards for people to post their Job on. In that sense, it would work similar to the Mall. They would be considered IC posts and after so often, the posts would be archived to help keep things looking clean. Staff could check the thread regularly and award Bits to those who completed the task. Each Job will be worth 1500 Bits or 5 posts, unless otherwise stated on the job itself. Now if they really wanted to do something special, they can request an NPC with a staff and create their own thread. However, the minimum paragraphs posted would increase to 20, but the reward would also increase to 3000 Bits or 10 posts. Other Job Boards: Northern ProminenceWestern FlatlandsEastern TimberlandsSouthern TropicsThe Digital CoreDark AreaEmpyrean SkiesPlease put this template at the start of each post [b]Job:[b] [b]Bits or Posts:[b] Name of Job: Experience in the Field Reward Offered: 1500 bits or 5 posts Plot Description: These rookies at the Spartan Training ground are embarrassing! They don't know a pepper breath from a blue blaster! We need someone with real experience to come and show these digimon what's what! You want a reward for this? Fine! You will get your reward! If you want to come and train the next generation of Soldiers, give me a Salute and a SIR YES SIR! Job: Experience in the Field Bits or Posts: Bits = = = "These rookies at the Spartan Training ground are embarrassing! They don't know a pepper breath from a blue blaster! We need someone with real experience to come and show these digimon what's what! You want a reward for this? Fine! You will get your reward! If you want to come and train the next generation of Soldiers, give me a Salute and a SIR YES SIR!"
They don't know a pepper breath from a blue blaster? Seriously? Oh no, Arika could not resist the urge to march into the training ground and blast everyone with her true flames of a fire deva. Seriously, there rookies needs a LECTURE on this! Despite Kaizer's whining about "why are we going to teach a bunch of kiddos they have other people to train them whuuut" she still dragged her into the Terminal Station, forced her to sit through the Trailmon, and crossed the jungles and fields to reach the training ground.
The Agunimon glared at the Rookies. The general of the training ground has given her the authorithy to do whatever she could to shape these rookies up into actual soldiers - and the first step would be identifying the different general skills that each of the Digimon has.
"Alright kiddos, listen up and well! Today, you're gonna go through extensive training to become the finest soldier in history! And by becoming the finest soldier, it doesn't only mean you need the brawls, but you need the brains for it as well!" Arika started her lecture, with a blazing fist on her side. She stared down at the various rookies of different species gathered in front of her. Most of them seemed to be listening to her, though there were some were still blur at what they need to do. Some were already eager to try stuffs out, while some were pretty relaxed. She spotted a few smarter-looking ones, and smiled as she thought of a new idea to drill them.
"Ok now, we shall have a few warm ups. I noticed that everyone of you are quite different, but nevertheless all stretching exercises work on everyone. So get down and stretch already!" Arika had fun seeing various Digimons trying to stretch, while she became wicked and forced the Agumon to stretch his back, and the Gotsumon to... do some impossible stuffs. She noticed that the Kudamon is extremely flexible. She went and forced more flexibles onto him, and to her surprise he could do it.
"Impressive. I never thought you could go until that extent," She complimented on the Kudamon, while part of her wanted to try tying a knot with the Kudamon's body and see if he could get out from that situation... but of course, the glaring look from Kaizer made her to think twice and the possible of hurting the Rookies before their actual training starts.
Remember: This is just warming up.
With that in mind, she finished the whole warming up session (with some of the rookies already panting in exhaustion). She shook her head at these pathetic creatures, while she tried not to sing "Be A Man" in front of them, since she knew that she's a woman and there ARE good fighters in the rookies that are woman.
Still. They're much less than a man.
"Ok. I don't care how you are right now, and I just want you to move on with it. So I'll divide you guys into 4 different roles that you will most probably take during an actual battle," As she was saying, she had already started dividing them into their own categories, then assign them with their partners. "Now, as you can see, all of you are assigned into four different roles - frontier, center, ranged, and support. Now for the frontiers, find your own partners and battle with each other - if you can't, find Kaizer-"
"What the heck?!"
"Who will be operating the different training machines to train you."
"Oh," The brunette was a bit relaxed, seeing that she didn't really need to fight a Digimon, but just to train them.
"Remember. This is important because you will be most likely to face another frontier in actual war," Arika spoke as she watched how they were paired up and most of them listened to her - well, except some certain 'mons. "As for the center, as I have divided you guys into 2 groups, you shall find your own partner along with a support to fight with another trio from another group. For the support, do not think that you only support without attacking - you will face some serious troubles if you have that thought. So each one of you go find the center group and start supporting them with your attacks. One group can only has one support. Ranged ones..." She paused, with a wicked smile. "You guys will face... me."
As they were seperated into groups and started to battle with each other, Arika did not waste her time and starter her own training with the ranged ones. She unleashed millions of fireballs towards them - it doesn't hurt, but that's not the reason why she's doing this. "Come on! You can't even shoot these little fireballs? How can you even snipe a Rinkmon? Come on come on! Be more accurate and hit ALL of the fireballs!" One of the fireballs hit the Wormmon - it's not painful, but Arika smirked. "If this is a real battle, you're dead by now, you hear me?! Come on, move your butt and start aiming!"
On the other hand, Kaizer was helping out a lone frontier with his training. Apparently he seemed to be the strongest and smartest amongst the bunch, and nobody seemed to want to partner with him. The KoKabuterimon stared at Kaizer, who in return started back at him with an awkward smile.
"Well... Uhhh... Let's get starting, then?"
The girl started to operate the running machine. The KoKabuterimon stepped up to it, and find it easy to run despite his large body (compared to the other Rookies). The girl blinked - she set it up at 40. It was a bit surprising to see that the KoKabuterimon could follow it. She started to add on the speed, little by little. When it reached somewhere around 70, the KoKabuterimon seemed to have some problems with the speed. She started to pay attention to the KoKabuterimon's figure, while giving him some hints on how to improve the speed.
"Erm, I think... if you don't tense up that much, you could run easier... Oh, and try to keep your claws near to yourself. Maybe it'll be easier to run as well."
The KoKabuterimon blinked, and followed the girl's advices. Well, it did not improve A LOT, but it DID improved nevertheless. Perhaps the human girl didn't seemed to be a useless one after all...?
Back to Arika, she was giving the Ranged categories a slight break, while monitor the other groups' battles. It seemed that most of them were doing quite well. The one that caught her eye first was the two different PawnChessmon teams. The Black one was paired up with a Gabumon and a Lalamon, while the White one was paired up with a Strabimon and a Floramon. The similarities in the group were too much that Arika couldn't help but snicker at it. They fought pretty tightly, as if they were all fighting themselves. Looking at another group, it seemed that neither of the two Dragon Roar group was giving up at each other. The Agumon, Renamon, and Fanbeemon trio seemed to be in the upper hand at first, but the teamworks between the Coronamon, Ryudamon, and the Lunamon trio managed to back them off a bit. They even managed to give the other group a surprise attack which resulted them on the ground.
Perhaps some 'mons shall learn some new stuffs about teamworks in here... Arika chuckled as she noticed the Renamon's disbelieving look. That rookie seemed to be too prideful at her own strength that she forgot that a great teamwork could blast her out. Then, the Agunimon looked at the other fighting group. Damn... These two groups were not in a really good shape. They were all too careful against each other that they did not make any much movements at all at first. Then, when they decided to battle... they don't know HOW!
This is very bad... The Champion Digimon clenched onto her teeth and shook her head. They need some other stimulations to make them battle... that is not a good team at all. Her eyes then scanned towards the frontier - all of them seemed to match each other up pretty well... and because of that, they were pretty exhausted. On the other side, Kaizer seemed to be having a good time exploiting the weakness of the KoKabuterimon and gave him some very good training that seemed to increase his own motivations and stats. Though, it's because of the various trainings he seemed to be a little bit exhausted too. Looks like it's time for a break, then?
"Alright, enough!" With a clap, she got everyone's attention. "Let's take a break and come back, ok? We will have more trainings when we come back," Most of them felt relaxed and joyful to hear that news, while going off to enjoy their own break times. Kaizer stood down from the machines and came back at the Agunimon with a smile on her face.
"...what?" Arika raised an eyebrow.
"I'm starting to like this... training people, I mean," The midget girl grinned at her partner - who in return just chuckled and smirked.
"Now you know... Now you know..."

Job: Experience in the Field Bits or Posts: Bits = = = When they come back from the break, the Champion trainer was already standing there waiting to give them a new instruction. Kaizer stood beside her, quite nervous about the list.
"Welcome back trainees! Now, I'm going to have you all divided into groups! This shall be the list!" Arika smirked, putting out a list of paper for all the trainees to see.
Their reactions were quite mixed - some were happy some were frustrated. Each of them were happy and/or frustrated at different reasons. For example, while the Renamon felt annoyed as the team leader was a human, the Monmon was annoyed as well precisely because the team leader was a Champion Digimon. The Renamon was worrying that the human couldn't lead them well, while the Monmon felt that the challenge has been dropped down since there's a Champion on their side. However, they did not missed out the fact that Kaizer's Team certainly has more Digimons than Arika's Team.
Now, I will NOT go soft on you guys just because you guys are rookies and there's a human there, alright? Your job is to protect Kaizer, while my job over here was to protect my protege - Lunamon." The Lunamon was a little bit shocked upon that realization. "Now, whoever that managed to capture the protege of the other team wins. We will start a strategic meeting right now, for 15 minutes. After that, we shall pick our base, then we shall start the battle. Are we all clear?"
"YES!"
"Good," Well, at least they seemed to be up for this mock battle. Still, Arika's a bit worried at her own tamer. Even though she has a certain expectation of the human, she couldn't help but worry if the Rookies would accept the human fully as their leader, or will they make their own leader. Nevertheless, it will be their own problems and their own lessons to take. Arika shall start a meeting with her own team right now - facing the Lunamon who seemed to be a little bit nervous. Arika's so going to test out these 'mon's strategies...
"So. What do you think of this battle?"
= = =
Kaizer, on the other hand, was having troubles within her own group. None of the Rookies seemed to be paying attention to her, while having rants about how unfair the trainer was to leave them a human while she herself helped out the other team. Kaizer tried to get their attention, but she was ignored every single time. Even though there were Digimons that did not rant or fuss, those Digimons - Renamon, Commandramon, and Strabimon - were silent and obviously ignoring the human midget's words.
Sigh. This is going nowhere... and this is not good! Even towards Arika, I can't lose! I will not lose that bet towards her, either!
Once again, Kaizer attempted to shout for their attention, but before she did that, the KoKabuterimon walked in with a loud boom.
"Respect. Kaizer."
Those were the only words he said... and coming from the strongest warrior amongst themselves, all of them kept quiet to listen what Kaizer had to say.
"T-Thank you KoKabuterimon," Though, the midget didn't seemed to expect the large beetle warrior to help her out. She gave a short gratitute with a smile towards the beetle Rookie, before facing the other Digimons - now lined up closely to listen to her. Even the Renamon, the Commandramon, and the Strabimon were paying attention to her. Perhaps this beetle has gave her some sort of acknowledgement?
"Listen up guys. I know this is unfair, but there's no use in making a fuss out of it. Remember: We have the numbers. If we use these numbers correctly, we would still be able to crush the opposite forces. Also, we have the strongest warriors in our side!" Kaizer did her homework too before she came - she clearly knew who were the top ones in the training ground, and coincidentially all of them are here - the Commandramon, the Renamon, the Strabimon, the Liollmon, the Huckmon, and the top of the Rookies - KoKabuterimon. "So remember - Arika isn't being unfair at all. She may be the Champion Digimon here, but we have the top 6 strongest Rookies on our side! If we go on with her with two of them, I'm pretty sure we can win over her in a 2-on-1 battle. So let us work with each other! We can win this!"
Kaizer's prep-talk actually managed to ease them, and hype them up for the upcoming mock-battle with the other team. The human midget was pretty surprised at her own efforts as well. She somehow spotted an acknowledging smile from the Renamon, and a nod from the Commandramon. The Strabimon smirked at her while the Liollmon and the Huckmon was happy with what she said.
Yeap. I can do this... I can do this...! I shall defeat Arika and win that bet!!!
With that, she started her strategy meeting (finally) and readied everyone to fight...
= = =
The starting point of Kaizer's team was in the forest, while Arika's team started from the field. The battle has already started 5 minutes ago, and Arika already sent her teams out. She made the Lunamon to be guarded by four Digimons, while she would move out to scorch the weaker ones with her destructive flames. She's accompanied by Bearmon and Gaomon, and Hyokomon plus Kotemon were on the other side of the trees. They were in full alert, and actively using all their senses to search out their targets.
"You can hide from my eyes, but your hostility itched my senses!" The Agunimon attacked first - throwing a fireball towards one of the tree behind her - right before a rock was thrown at her. The fireball exploded and something dropped down - she couldn't tell. After evading the poor aimed rock (Perhaps because the counterattack was unpredictable? Arika thought), she eyed towards the Bearmon and the Gaomon to search the tree for any Digimons. However, right after they approached the bushed, they screamed in surprise as they were dragged into some other place by two dragonic Rookies.
"...what?!" And before Arika could even react whether to save the rookies or not, she was greeted by attacks - rocks, blades, and a lightning punch. Of course, being a more experienced warrior, she was able to react quickly and block herself from the incoming attacks - first slapping away all the rocks and evading the blades, then block against a great punch from the strongest Rookie - KoKabuterimon.
"Hmph. I knew Kaizer would put you up with me," The Agunimon smirked as she pushed the rookie away, hopping a few feet behind the rookie. In front of her was the Gotsumon, the Ryudamon, and the KoKabuterimon. All aimed at her. "Heh. I wonder what else she has come up with...?"
= = =
On the other side of the trees, the Hyokomon and the Kotemon have heard some sort of screams, but they will not be shaken by that. They will focus on their objective, which was to find the human leader of the other Rookies team. They slashed through a few webs that seemed like some sort of failed traps, alongside with a few mushrooms that were hung from the web - as if they would eat them or knock into them.
"Pfft. I bet the human isn't even trying to get us."
"I'm not so sure about this, Kote... I think she has something up... Something doesn't feel right here..."
And right after the Hyokomon said that, a roar came from behind their back and they were greeted by a club to the head. Fortunately for the Kotemon, he has a helmet - and for the Hyokomon, he's alert enough to evade that.
"Attacking from behind! So unhonorable!" The Kotemon complained as he readied his shinai once again to face the lion Rookie, while Hyokomon did the same towards the Goblimon.
"Heh, there's nothing honorable when it comes to survival..." The Liollmon smirked as he charged towards the Kotemon with his sharp fangs. The Goblimon exchanged blows with the Hyokomon (who has a weaker swordsmanship from the Kotemon).
"Yes. They managed to keep the Kendo-duo on that spot. We can start our operation now."
A soft whisper from a certain bee Digimon was heard behind the trees - even though it's inaudible from the noisy battles in front of them. Seeing that the Huckmon and the Monodramon managed to keep the Bearmon and the Gaomon in place as well, the FanBeemon signaled his team.
It's time to move out.
The Wormmon and the Mushroomon stopped making traps, and began to retreat to the FanBeemon - aiming to protect the messenger. The two remaining tops went to find the weaker 'mons as their assassination targets. The rest of them moved out to their objectives - Lunamon.
She's right there. Kaizer thought as she saw the rabbit Digimon walking into the forest with a huge amount of guards around her - PawnChessmon Black and White, Agumon, Gabumon, Palmon, and Lalamon. The human expected this scenario 60%, while the remaining 40% being that Arika would be the one leading the guards and have the rest of the guards to hunt them down, or lure them into a big messy fight, then pull Lunamon away while luring the possible idiots to chase after her. Of course, Arika knew Kaizer's tactics as well. The human girl - if she managed to get everyone to listen to her - would not let the Rookies to chase after the Lunamon. Instead, she would focus everyone's strength to defeat what's remaining of the team and slowly take them out one by one, before going for the strongest warrior and the main target.
However, in this case, she would had to spread her forces to stall the vanguards from moving forward, and to drag each of the pairs away to lower their combat abilities.
Now!
She hand-signalled her team to motion them to act. The Coronamon and Lopmon shot out blasts to distract the guards, while the Kokuwamon and the Gazimon tackled the Agumon and the BlackPawnChessmon, breaking them away from the defensive formation. With this, the Palmon and the Lalamon had to stood upon the Lunamon to protect her. The Commandramon - hiding on top of the thick trees - took his chance to snipe at the Lalamon - rendering her immobile - while trying to snipe the Lunamon at the same time. However, the Gabumon was in time to leap into the line of attack and he got shot instead. Still, right before he was shot, he burst out a blue flame towards the Commandramon's direction, attempt to burn him down. WhitePawnChessmon quickly pulled the Lunamon and the Palmon away from the fray, using his shield to defend against the bullets that the Commandramon aimed at them before he fell, giving them some time to escape.
The BlackPawnChessmon and the Agumon tried to get back to the rabbit Digimon, but they were stopped by the Coronamon and Lopmon, with the Kokuwamon and the Gazimon behind them. They had no choice but to battle the four of them. At the same time, Kaizer appeared before the Lunamon and the Palmon, with Terriermon and Kudamon beside her. The Terriermon already had his wind blast readied, while the Kudamon circled around Kaizer protectively with a ring readied to attack as well. Both aiming at the Lunamon.
"Surrender peacefully, or I'll attack!"
However, Kaizer seemed to underestimate the capabilities of the Lunamon and the Palmon. Even though they're supports, they fight pretty well as well with their tricks. Palmon grabbed onto a tree branch with her claws and quickly wrapped another at the Lunamon, while the Lunamon cast out a barrier around herself and the Palmon, blocking the incoming attacks while evading the next one with their escape.
"Damn it!" The brunette cursed, before noticing that the WhitePawnChessmon was aiming a throw at her. "Shi-!"
"Kaizer!"
The Terriermon quickly stood forth in attempt to slap the spear away. However, rather than slapping the spear away, it damaged his ears and he fall to the ground with pain. He was rendered immobile then. Kudamon quickly put Kaizer on his back, and took her away to safety... or so it seemed.
While the WhitePawnChessmon tried to chase them, he was caught in by some webs... that were sharp. They didn't deal much damage on his armors, of course, but it was annoying and he tried to get rid of them in haste. Because of that, he pulled in the second trap - mushroom bombs.
*BOOM!*
The WhitePawnChessmon was immobile right now.
= = =
Deep in the forest, the few ranged 'mons of Arika's Team were stealthily moving through trees to trees, bushes to bushes. So far, they have not met with the human target. They noticed that there's a few traps with mushroom bombs, but pay them no heed. So far, this is the only place that is safe. Perhaps this is their last heaven? They heard some explosions from the other side of the trees, and they wondered if the human would be there. Some were already moving, but some stayed behind in hopes that they could ambush the escaping target. To their joy, Kaizer DID came towards this direction - though she took a detour around the forest. It was a smart action, but not smart enough...
...or so they thought.
"Boo."
A slash from the back made the Dorumon to fall down from the tree. The Elecmon was surprised at the sudden attack and made his own presence known.
"Aha. So you're here..."
The lightning Rookie was quite afraid as there's a sound from behind, then a head was peeked down at his own from above.
"Heh. Nice hiding spot. Too bad I found it."
"W-Wha-?!"
Another slash, and the Strabimon's job was done.
"Good job Strabimon!" The human expressed her gratitude towards the wolf Rookie, who shook his head in return.
"It was part of your plan, knowing that they might be coming here to the only place without traps and tricking them into thinking that this WILL be our escape heaven."
"Aaand there's actually no heaven at all. Everywhere has been in our control," The FanBeemon appeared, with Mushroomon and Wormmon beside him.
"Now now, don't get too cocky. You'll never know what will happen from now on, especially after the Lunamon has escaped, ok?" Well, it's a good time to lecture. Why not?
"You're right. I'm a bit worried. And I don't think a long battle is going to work well for the rest of the frontiers..."
"K-K-Knowing that they're fighting stronger opponents made me nervous...!" The Wormmon spoke in a pretty frightened way.
"It's ok. As long as we keep on moving and keep on searching for the Lunamon." Kaizer HAD to say that, even though she was fearing of the same thing. Well, the only thing she could do right now was to finish the battle soon - by taking out the Lunamon. "FanBee, signal them the second phase of the operation."
"Youuuu got it!" The Fanbeemon beamed as he sent out signals to his teammates - however, his grin turned into a frown soon. "...bad news. It seemed that a few of them has fallen."
"...this is bad... I knew that Terriermon is down... but that's all I knew," The midget started to worry. "No. There's no time to wonder about that. Right now, we HAVE TO focus on searching the Lunamon out. Hmm..." She then thought of something. "Strabimon, go and find Renamon. I fear that Lunamon has already meet up with the other two-"
"Got it."
"-and it would be bad for... Renamon... oh," Kaizer blinked at the Strabimon's sudden departure. Does she has no need to explain why? Has the Strabimon fully understood her? Or she's just being annoying and dragging the time while the Strabimon could've just followed her orders just like that? Oh well, she has to cast those aside right now and focus on leading her own team to get the Lunamon. She had Wormmon to stay with the FanBeemon, while she took Mushroomon out with her, alongside Kudamon.
= = =
Back to Arika, she was having fun fighting the three rookies. Obviously Kaizer knew her strength and weaknesses therefore assigned none of the 'mons with fire attacks to face her, instead, sent out 2 Digimons that clearly has a resistance towards fire, and one with the strongest punch against her. However, they were not really that agile when it comes to movements and reactions. They were always the ones that got hit by her flames as if they didn't even try to evade... or maybe they knew that they couldn't and just block it away instead, and continue with their next attack without stopping down.
Heh, it seemed like Kaizer trained them well, in that few 15 minutes. Or maybe less.
Arika smirked as she found the Gotsumon trying to move forward instead, to punch her, maybe? "That's not gonna work, rock boy," With ease, she grabbed onto the Gotsumon's hand and turned him to the ground. But that wasn't the main attack - she knew it. It's a distraction. The main force should be the KoKabuterimon, as he was the strongest... but if she just thought of that, she would fall under Kaizer's tactics. Therefore, she aimed a fire kick towards the incoming Ryudamon - who's attacking from the sides, while her other leg went for the KoKabuterimon that's trying another punch.
But she was... a little bit wrong about that.
The KoKabuterimon was waiting precisely at this! Instead of giving a punch, his grip opened up and grabbed onto Arika's incoming leg! "Wha-?!" Unable to predict this move, Arika was a little bit shaken but still managed to balance herself well and followed the pulling force of the KoKabuterimon, preparing a knee crash in the meanwhile. The rookie - not pretty much with real battle experience - was caught off guard by the Champion's sudden change of reactions and was knee-smashed very hard on the head. He dropped to the ground, and couldn't feel the balance. Arika take no chance on this and attempted to end this with a million punch, but was thrown off by the sudden tackle from behind by both the Gotsumon and the Ryudamon - now lying on the ground.
"Now we got you!"
"Oh no you don't!"
Suddenly, the Kotemon barged into the scene and swiped the Gotsumon away, and the Hyokomon kicked the Ryudamon away. They seemed to be a little worn out, but they're still able to fight - they ARE part of the top list after all. They stood side by side with Arika, while the Gotsumon and the Ryudamon rolled quickly away from them and helped KoKabuterimon to get up. Looking at the Kendo-duo, it seemed that Liollmon and Goblimon have been defeated.
"Hyo! Now we have equal numbers..."
This doesn't look good...
"Nope. It's not equal," The Monodramon appeared from behind with Huckmon. The dragons seemed to be in a better shape than the Kendo-duo though.
"It's time for the finale..." The Huckmon readied his stance, alongside the Monodramon. The original trio gained back some confidence, and readied themselves to fight. Though, none of them noticed the slight crack on the Monodramon's leg... except for the champion.
Smirking, she began the attack first.
"I saw your weakness... here!" She threw an explosive fireball towards the Monodramon's injured leg, and put him out of the battle. Huckmon managed to tackle the Agunimon with a rage, while the KoKabuterimon joined in to hold the Agunimon down... but his head had not recovered from the previous attack fully yet, and he was a bit weaker than usual. Arika quickly escaped their grasp, and went up to the trees to shoot them with more flames. Gotsumon and Ryudamon faced off the Kendo-duo in a pretty vicious and hard fight - partially because none of their attacks worked pretty well on each other. None of the Kendo-duo's attacks made scratches on the rock body and the tough armor, while Gotsumon's rock attacks were easily slashed off by the Kotemon, and Ryudamon's attack just never landed on the agile bird.
As the battle goes on, a Digimon has been sneakily trying to get a chance to do something... and it seemed like this is her chance. The Floramon sneaked out from the bushes that she has been hiding, and quickly dragged the injured Monodramon to a side. She started to heal the Monodramon, while paying attention at the battle - if anyone spotted her. Fortunately the Agunimon had some problems with the two top 10 fighters, and the other four were having troubles with each other. No one had the extra mind to notice that the Monodramon was gone from the battle - or they just assumed that the Monodramon went hiding somewhere else, to escape from the battle. Different from how they think, though, the Monodramon never gave up on the battle.
His eyes were filled with determination.
He has been waiting for the healer to come by and heal him up - it's just only one leg. If this leg is healed, he could join in the battle and overturn the whole situation easily. But the healing process will take some time... and he would need to deal with the pains from the leg even after the healing. It wasn't something that it can be healed within 5 minutes, and he knew it. He would need at least a whole day resting.
But this battle, he will not lose it.
He will wait. He will endure.

The Renamon was still searching for her preys, hiding in the treetop. To her surprise, Lunamon showed up alongside the Palmon. So the target has showed up... should I maim her right now? She prepared a sharp diamond in her hand, but before she threw it out, she noticed that another two Digimons came down. The Monmon and the Tentomon? I can't go up against 4 'mons at the same time... plus, Lunamon seemed to be very alert right now. If she has her barrier up, I cannot complete the assassination and instead got caught by them instead. What should I do...?
"Hmm? I smelled something."
Have they found me?! The Renamon frowned, and planning an escape route in her mind. However, before she even moved a finger, she heard a rustle. Then, she smelled what the Monmon smelled.
Bombing mushrooms.
"RUUUN!!!"
Renamon watched as the mushroom bombs landed and exploded in front of her eyes, scattering the four Digimons away. This is her chance to attack!
Diamond Storm!
With her extraordinary will, she yelled her attack name with her mind and rained down plenty diamonds from above. She heard some painful grunts - an indication that someone got hurt by her diamonds. Even though there's smokes, she noticed where each Digimon fled - Lunamon went out with the Tentomon, while the Palmon was burnt by the explosion, then being rained down with diamonds, and was deemed immobile. There doesn't seemed to be a healer anywhere... perhaps she was taken off already? Whoever that did that, kudos to him or her. As Kaizer has told them earlier, the first thing that they should take out is the healer. Since this is not a "Dead or Alive" situation, as long as there's the healer, they can get back to the game after being recovered.
Hence, the reason why the Floramon has been hiding until she's needed.
Exposing the healer would be the worst thing to do, 'cause when you take out the healer, it would be easy to take out the rest of the people, especially when the target was a person with a high vitality - like Arika the Agunimon. If you injured a person's limbs until they cannot fight, they will eventually back off from the fight as they would be a hinderance instead - plus, there's no one to heal their injuries, so it'll be alright for that.
And in this case, with the Palmon away from the battle, it would be easier for her, and whoever that helped her, to fight the remaining three that went to a different way. First, she will take out the lone Digimon - who has been taken out by the Strabimon. Both of them nodded towards each other - smirked at each other's good job, and went for the remaining two.
= = =
Kaizer and her two Digimon soldiers slowly came to a place where they wondered what has going on here. In front of her lies not only Bearmon and Gaomon, but also a Lopmon and a Gazimon from her team. There were signs of battle here, but she couldn't make the victor out. There's no signs of Huckmon and Monodramon... perhaps they're safe? Who else were safe, who else were not? She has to find out, while being as alert as she could.
Slowly, they came into another ground, where the Coronamon laid on the ground, alongside a burnt Kokuwamon. Nearby, there's Liollmon and Goblimon, both knocked out. Kaizer started to calculating the remaining forces that possibly still survived, but her thoughts were cut off by a sudden fireball at them.
"Wha-?!"
The Mushroomon was being aimed - the first one does not make him down thoroughly, but there were more fireballs! Kudamon tried to shield Kaizer with his body, while the Mushroomon couldn't hide after the first impact, and went down finally.
"This... could be the Agumon...?"
Kaizer tried to find out where's the assailant, but she couldn't. It was another eerie silent. The Kudamon seemed to be injured as well, taking on so many fireballs for Kaizer's sake. Yet, he still cling onto the human midget with his body, even though that's the only thing that he could do right now aside from enduring the pain and focus on nothing but protecting Kaizer.
The brunette's head and eyes scanned the entire area, a bit afraid to make the first move as she has totally no idea where the Digimon could hide. She's not a Digimon herself, so she couldn't smell it. Kudamon's taken too much damage to himself that he couldn't do anything else for her sake. And when she turned away, she heard rustles from the bushes - it was the Agumon!
"UWAAAAAH!!!"
The Agumon swiped down his claws at her, but was defended by the Kudamon, who dropped to the ground after the final protection, and was out of commission. Kaizer's all alone now, facing a Digimon that's stronger and faster than herself. What could she do in this case? Kaizer has no idea. Behind her was the Mushroomon, on the ground was the Kudamon, and in front of her was the vicious-looking Agumon that seemed pretty set in killing her.
"P-P-Please be gentle...?"
"YAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!!!"
"UWAHHH!!!"
Kaizer quickly jumped away from the two fallen Digimon's bodies and the dinosaur's claw attack, rolling through the ground and hoped for a dive towards the bushes... that was her plan, of course. But her body just wouldn't listen - it was not easy to get up from the ground immediately after a roll than she thought it could be. And the distance to the bushes... it wasn't that close either! Behind her was the Agumon, spewing fireballs towards her. There's no way she's going to get that attack!!!
"YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!"
She felt her adrenaline rushed through her, and she has done the most impossible - she made a dive into the bushes, even though the bushes were on fire right now. She knew that the Agumon would sniff her out and find her, so she had to run instead!
*PAHM!*
She heard a gunshot. Then she heard a shriek of pain. She turned around to see that the Agumon was holding his legs in pain. This... must be the Commandramon! But where was he? She took a detour and started to look around, searching for him. She found him lying down within the bushes, but she noticed that his legs were injured - from the fall, he said.
"Hmm... there's no one else here..." Kaizer looked around, and the Commandramon nodded to confirm that. "...maybe I'll just hide here then...?" The Commandramon nodded, agreeing to her. Both of them sat side by side, waiting for the time to pass...
...until they heard another explosion, and more rustling sounds.
It got them into alert mode, and they stayed very silent to hear where the 'mons will come from... and it seemed like it will be coming from behind them!
This is bad! I need to go...! She looked at the Commandramon, who just nodded towards her and motions her to go that way, while he attempt to turn around and give some shots to buy her some time. The sound kept on coming closer and closer, and at the first contact with the nearest bushes, the Commandramon pressed on the trigger. To his surprise though, the bullets did not hit the target, but got onto some sort of barrier instead.
"IT'S LUNAMON!!!"
The Commandramon shouted and gave more pewpews at the barriers, until the Tentomon finally landed a lightning crush onto him, and put him out of commission. However, that wasn't the 'mon that they're having a trouble from.
It was the two assassins that were chasing them.
If they were to be quick enough to notice Kaizer's escape, and grab onto her as a hostage, they would win because she has no one around her side. However, they failed to notice that, and thought that the Commandramon just shouting out of surprise or delight. But why did he kept on shooting even though there's a barrier in front of him? The Lunamon and the Tentomon never knew.
And they have been stalled by the Commandramon's bullets in time for those two to catch up to them.
"DIAMOND STORM!!!"
A shout of the attack grabbed their attention, and seemingly thousands of diamond blades just rained down upon them. The barrier couldn't hold any much longer, and they had to find a shelter before the barrier dissipates. However, the Strabimon has already been waiting and kicked the Tentomon away from the Lunamon. The Lunamon was now officially alone, and she's against two 'mons from the top ten list. Even though she was one herself, facing two of them with a crippled Tentomon was a sure lose battle. She couldn't rely on her barriers anymore, unless she managed to find the human first... but she did not know whether the human was with other 'mons or not - she has a larger quantity of 'mons anyway.
"This is... unfair...!"
"It was," The Strabimon approached the Lunamon after the Tentomon (and the Agumon who tried to help out the Lunamon) got taken care of. "We managed to think differently to attack without a protection, while you hide behind that shelter too much."
"Guh...!"
It's over.

Narrow streams of sunlight cascaded down through the slits between the blankets of leaves. Each strand of light carefully rolled over the new digimon and his wares. It was an alien Guilmon with inverted colors and unique characteristics. The back of his body, face, and outer limbs were inked darker than the Server Woods on a night with no moon. The skins of his underbelly, and all the way up to his bottom jaw, were stained with the color of fresh snow. Crimson markings adorned the tip of his tail, large ears, around his eyes, and stamped a symbol on his muzzle. Tucked tenderly between his lips, a small stone jutted out. He plowed forward, grasping the handles of the cart on either side of him and listening to the wail of the wheels dragging behind him.
Stopping on the shoulder of the road, he dropped the cart which tramped in the dirt. He grumbled to himself as he decided whether or not he was far enough. “Cut trees. Load trees. Carry trees.” He walked up to the nearest trunk and assessed the structure. They were rather large, but not as old as those found in the center. His job was to chop down all the excess trees, for they were starting to get out of hand. However, he was unaware of the sorcery he was to face.
“R-r-rockbreaker”, he snarled. Instantly his claws glowed with injected power. Then he pulled his claws through the air and into the base of the tree. The wood splintered apart with a loud crescendo. The tree shuddered as it fell the way it had leaned. It crashed into the embrace of another tree, stuck. Once again the Guilmon called upon the power of his claws and crushed the wood to let the tree collide with the earth. Again and again he called upon the power of his claws to topple the trees down one by one. Clearly, there was no plan or efficiency in this for the trees fell every which way.
He stood for a moment, panting. The back of his claw caked in wood dust wiped the sweat from his forehead, smearing the dirt. There was plenty of work to do in a short amount of time. After a short sigh of impatience, he raised his claws above his head. He was about to slice up the fallen trees, when he heard a noise. He stopped mid-chop. Nearby, the sound of the crack of a tree being split or cut into echoed. Then it fell with a soft thud. The source of the sound was from behind him. Slowly, he turned to look. Nothing moved. He went back to his work, slicing up the lumber like onions. As he was about to bring down his claws another tree fell, from behind him. He whipped around to watch another tree quiver, and fall. His arms were raised in a defensive posture, much like a boxer protecting its face. Someone else was there.
With a huff, he galloped between the trees to the source of all the racket. This was his work zone, which means no one else was allowed in the area in case of injury. “This area is mine”, he mumbled around the stone in his mouth. As he reached the place, he noticed no one. Confused, Gumanzi bent his head and slipped the star shaped stone into his claws. Then a pink adder tongue slipped out from his jaws to taste the air. From what he could taste in the air, no other digimon had been here in a long time. His nose didn’t pick up anything either.
Turning back, he decided it best to continue working. As he headed back to his work site, another tree fell, from behind him. Gumanzi haulted, mid-step. Blood flash froze. Goosebumps pimpled over his skin. The air was still. Ever so slowly his tail curled beneath him, pressed into his stomach. He had distinctly heard an axe cut into the tree that fell behind him, but no one was around.
His ears were flattened pancakes against his skull as he tiptoed towards the noise. The stone star was clutched in his claws and held firmly against his chest. Just to his left the sound of a chop ricocheted in the canals of his ears. Startled, his attention snapped to the source of the sound. Lodged in one of the recently fallen trees, an axe was wedged. It was not there before.
A foul stench rolled into the atmosphere, stagnant, and lingering. The smell burned the insides of his nostrils and his eyes watered. Petrified with fear, he scrambled to find his way back to the cart. An Impmon appeared in front of him, making his skin drain of all colors. Its eyes held no depth, and a disturbing frown was slapped on its face. Its hands raised and two small lavender balls of fire ignited in its palms. “Leave.” Its frown flipped into an evil grin as it tossed the fire at the Guilmon’s face. Shocked, and burned, Gumanzi sprinted deeper into the forest. Behind him the lurid Impmon cackled and tossed small purple fireballs at his ankles.
He did not stop moving until his body crumpled beneath him. Heart pounded. Muscles crunched in exhaustion. Eyes flew in every which direction. Gumanzi was trapped in a state of shock. A kind Floramon stopped to tend to Gumanzi. After watering and feeding Gumanzi the Floramon was bold enough to ask what happened. Gumanzi’s skin bleached and his body stilled with fear. His eyes darted down to the ground, and his tail tucked beneath his belly. Growling, he walked away from the curious digimon, unable to account for the things he witnessed.
He went back to the digimon who hired him, scared. Growling and defensive he snapped at the digimon that if he wanted the wood it was left in his area, chopped. After all, the ad stated, “…you cut down some trees for me, and you get a reward in return” The strange thing is, all the wood that the Guilmon chopped down was found perfectly stacked on the cart, although Gumanzi had left them on the ground when he ran.

Job: Experience in the field Bits or Posts: Bits Please! I just hope I did well enough.
"These rookies at the Spartan Training ground are embarrassing! They don't know a pepper breath from a blue blaster! We need someone with real experience to come and show these digimon what's what! You want a reward for this? Fine! You will get your reward! If you want to come and train the next generation of Soldiers, give me a Salute and a SIR YES SIR!"
They don't know the difference between those? What kind ignorant Rookies are we working with? Sparkmon wondered. He of all Digimon actually met some Agumon and even Gabumon. Spend eight years in search of your memories and you learn a few things. Nova had similar thoughts about this. Rookies with even less knowledge about fighting than what an In-Training level may possess? Just terrible, and, in Sparky’s case, unthinkable.
"While I'm training you, you may refer to me as Sparks or Sparkmon, but never call me Sparky," Sparky addressed his fellow Rookies, none of which seemed all too impressed that one of their instructors was a Rookie and the other was a mere human. "Please excuse Sparky McSerious when it comes to his name," Nova said to the other Digimon, earning some snickers and giggles. “HEY!” Sparky objected, earning some laughs.
Nova’s expression turned serious. “Okay, enough fun and games. It’s time to train,” he said to the Rookies. “We’ll split into four groups. We would have five, but we don’t have anything for ranged fighters,” Sparky announced. Immediately the Rookie Digimon split into four groups. “Group 1 will be CQC. Fighting isn’t all about using attacks after all. Group 2 will be Frontier. They will get into groups of two and battle each other. The remaining groups are Center and Support. Members from these two groups will get into teams of three with members of the Frontier Group and battle other teams of three.”
“Group 1, you’re with me!” Nova announced. He then led the first group away from the others. “For our Close Quarters Combat group, or CQC, we won’t be using Attacks, but rather martial arts as well as claws, teeth, tails, and basically any other body parts that are used for fighting,” he explained. “I would like to demonstrate a martial arts move or two, so can I get a volunteer?” he requested. A Flamemon raised his hand. He then walked up to Nova as the rest of the group made a circle.
“First I’m going to teach you how to do a Circle Throw,” Nova announced as he got into a fighting stance with his left foot in front. “First you step in between your opponent’s legs with the back foot,” he continued, now performing each step just after he said each. “ Next, drop down onto your back so your butt meets the heel of the foot you didn't step forward with. Now bring the foot you stepped forward with to your opponent's abdomen and push them up and over your chest, then grab your opponent under their arms and..." he trailed off as he brought his left foot to Flamemon's abdomen.
He lifted Flamemon using that foot. Just as he was over Nova's chest, Nova grabbed under the armpits and used the momentum to throw him behind him. Flamemon hit the ground face first. Nova stood up and brushed his hands off. "That's how you do a circle throw," he finished. The doubts about his ability to teach had left their minds. Meanwhile Sparkmon was observing the battles from afar and noticed a familiar face. The Agumon he met the day he met Nova. "Hey Sparkmon! Would you mind being my opponent? I can't find anyone," he said as he came running up to the aforementioned Digimon.
"Not at all, Agumon," Sparky replied. Agumon stopped and prepared for battle. "Pepper Breath!" he bellowed as he spat a fireball at Sparks. He blocked it with the palms of his hands. His resistance lowered the fireball's damage on it's own, but the gloves blocked the remainder of the damage. "My turn. Spark Blazer!" Sparky spat a fireball crackling with electricity. Agumon jumped aside and avoided. Nova watched the battle unfold as his single group fought in pairs. After scanning the members of his group and Agumon of course. It was times like this he could enjoy his Digimon's battling.
He then returned his attention to Flamemon, who was now performing a circle throw on a Gotsumon. Nova gave an approving thumbs up at the successful attempt. That one learned fast. He then winced as Flamemon got clocked upside the head by Gotsumon. It doesn't matter if you're a Digimon, getting punched by a stone fist still hurts. Same goes with punching metal as Nova observed a Kokuwamon getting punched by a Veemon. "If I were not made of mostly metal, I would have warned you not hurt yourself," it said to the Veemon.
"Veemon, try aiming for the joints," Nova advised. "Thanks for the tip!" Veemon praised as he dodged a punch and punched Kokuwamon's elbow. He then observed the battles in the other groups. One team had a Gabumon with a Lalamon and a Penguinmon fighting a team with a Psychemon, Palmon and a Muchomon. They were nearly identical, so it was an interesting match. Nova was beginning to like this job more than his last one by the second. He returned his gaze to the Sparks Vs Agumon match.
Sparkmon had his thunder whip in hand as Agumon came at him from above with his claws. That battle was starting to get epic. Nova silently cheered his partner on as he delivered a mean electrical uppercut. It seemed to him like something he would see out of a TV show... but I'm not about to tell him about it. Sparky lashed out with his whip only for Agumon to dodge it by jumping out of the way after landing. Looks like Sparky has his own prodigy, Nova thought. "Alright everyone, we'll continue this for a while and break for lunch!" Nova announced.

"So whaddya say, fellas? Why don'tcha help me a bit?" an oversized red stag beetle asked to the human-digimon pair in front of him. It's not that long by the time Dorumon told Yuuki he wanted to do some work. Work, although for Dorumon it's purely helping those in needs, Yuuki preferred the payment. Foolish if you do work for free, especially this scale. Dorumon told Yuuki that it's fine if it's only him. Yuuki doesn't need to work...
Or so, he said. Had it not for the last remark, Yuuki would probably laze around. "Yeah, you don't have to work, you know... but you got the share, too, so unless you're just freeloader, you'll help me, right?" And so, he begrudgingly took the job with the ever-so-happy Dorumon, who is happy because he managed to score another winning argument to his partner.
"Alright, we're in."
"That's a lad! You human seem a bit weak for this kind of job, so here, I'll lend ya some sharp axe. So, tell me a bit, how strong is that partner of yours? Can he go up to champion yet?" The Kuwagamon tossed him a strange axe that looks like Reppamon's tail. By the glance, it is sharp, and unlike Reppamon's tail, it doesn't seem to be sentient. Still, as it's modeled after the kamaitachi Digimon, Yuuki hoped that it'll be at least sharp enough for cutting trees. Kuwagamon coughed, reminding Yuuki to answer the question.
"Er, no, Boss."
"Well, then that's too bad. Just leave the trees there. I'll have my other men to carry it later. Now chop chop, less talking and let's get to work. Work nicely, I'll pay ya handsomely!"
As a human, Yuuki is unsure of how much he can cut. As athletic as he is, the experience is rather new. He also doesn't wear any kind of gloves. Digimons need no gloves thanks to their strong body and much greater pain resistance compared to human... Hesitating slightly, the teenager prepared himself for the first swing. Silvery arc trajectory followed the axe's swing. Although Yuuki used all of his strength, the blade stuck midway. It's much better than any axe in earth, but obviously, he need to swing it twice to fully cut it.
"Metal Cannon!" he heard Dorumon yelled his signature attack. Once, twice, thrice, metal orbs on size of adult's palm dig deeper into the targeted tree's bark. Dorumon purposely aimed at the same place to embed it further. Upon the third Metal Cannon, he managed to blast a hole on it. Triumphantly, the fox-dragon Digimon yelled 'Timber!!'.
Despite just doing it for just one time, Dorumon looks at Yuuki with annoying, proud look. Definitely, he's trying to boast. Despite trying his best to ignore it, his partner somehow able to took down another tree shortly after. With a strange look of downgrading, Dorumon smirked at the human.
"THAT'S IT!!"
Honestly, how he managed to press the right button, Yuuki have no idea. The human worked harder than usual, chopping down trees and cleaning them well enough. Dorumon, obviously doesn't want to give up followed suit.
Yet obviously, strength of human and rookie isn't enough. Despite their best, they only can take down five trees each. Skins peeled and sore arms... What the heck is he doing? He have no idea why the heck he did this. It felt totally pointless, totally only for small price. Yet here... why does he feel quite satisfied? He have no idea, but it felt fun. It really does. A smile etched on his face... a smile of satisfaction.
"Ahaha... ahaha!" he heard his partner laughing happily. Despite of he doesn't really understand what so funny, Yuuki echoed the laughter, laughing happily for the first time with his partner. Perhaps it's because of the hard job, perhaps it's just because the laughter is always contagious, but certainly, he's happy. Really happy for this once...
"...Hey, what so funny?" he asked Dorumon.
"Ahh, it's just that I thought... 'mission success!'... I know you want to help somewhere in your heart, but you just won't admit it. I won't ask the details now, but you should tell me sometimes later, alright? That's what partner for, Yuuki! We can share all of our worries with each other!"
"Hmph... it's too early for that. my social link with you is still at low level. Try again next time."
"Heh, stubborn guy..."
"Ya two, done already?" suddenly, Kuwagamon approached. As it got no face, Yuuki can't really tell what is that supposed to be, but apparently, he's quite happy with their work. The red stag beetle hands them their reward, muttering 'come again to help sometime'. Yuuki and Dorumon soon left the place, making sure to come again one day, if Dorumon already stronger, and hopefully, as true partner next time.

SOVE BITS PAID
Job: Parental Influence Bits or Posts: Bits
They had left that tundra with smiles and some fond memories indeed, but that’s what they were: just memories. Mana didn’t know if she would actually return or if she would see Gaomon or his family soon, and she actually felt a little sad about that fact. Maybe she had helped Gaomon out, but he was just one of the so many digimons that were lost in the snowstorms. She really wanted to help them, but the mere fact that she had helped Gaomon was just pure luck. She had found him by accident, and even halfway of freezing herself. If she tried to consciously help, the most logical result was undoubtedly that her face would most likely be on the missing people tab in the town.
And that made her feel weak. Right, Ayaka had evolved and she seemed to bear with the cold, but her… she was frail, and really couldn’t keep up with her partner. In times like this was when she felt something akin to pangs of jealousy towards Carrie. Even when the girl was so unsure of herself, she could actually evolve and become strong on her own right while Mana just felt stuck. She couldn’t really get these depressing thoughts out of her mind, and her time at Ayaka’s back seemed to only be feeding this sadness. And the giant spider was really feeling it. She had hoped her tamer would have got over this feeling since her last time with Karin, but maybe she could use some more direct persuading methods.
“Iss there ssomething wrong, missss Mana?” she inquired with as much concern as her silky and spidery voice could muster. “Ayaka…” she said while caressing the giant spider’s head “I’ve had you since you where a little seedling, a Plumulmon that needed help to evolve... and you’ve grown up so much in these days. In less than a week, you’ve already converted yourself in a giant badass spider that can do a lot of cool stuff. But what about me? I’m still the same little girl. I haven’t evolved at all and I feel that maybe… I’ll become a burden to you. I believe that I just… don’t deserve you”. In that precise instant, Ayaka stopped her steps. “Pleasse, do not talk nonssensse, missss Mana. You are not a burden to me and you will never be one. And even if you do not believe my wordss, I will sshow you what I am referring to mysself.
Ayaka had drastically changed the direction in which they were going and used her spore-thingy to make up for any time they had lost in their exchange. Mana tried to guess to where they were going. They were going really deep into Server Woods, so maybe she wanted to return to where they have helped Yuuki and found their digimentals? No, they were already to deep, so they were actually going to a place that Ayaka knew but she didn’t? They have always travelled together, so that was kinda weird to expect. They ventured into the heart of the forest, but not quite, as Ayaka made some detours, but when they finally arrived to where Ayaka meant to bring her, she couldn’t help but be really surprised.
”Thiss iss the place I wanted to sshow you, missss Mana. Itss called the village of the beginingss. Here all the dead digimonss reconfigure themsselvess ass eggss” the Nephilamon explained while the girl descended from her back, rapidly devolving to her Kodamon form when she did so. It was indeed that seemed to be out of a fairytale. The floor seemed to be an endless expanse of rubber and buildings seemed to be built with toy blocks, and even the clouds here looked as if they were made of cotton candy. With Mana’s amazed expression, the pair entered the village that was populated by an endless expanse of eggs and small cribs with a small digimon in them. And in the center of the village, as if awaiting them, was the only grown digimon of the place; a gigantic cherry tree with two branches resembling hands, a cane in one of them. He looked to be pretty old and wizened, but kind and caring at the same time.
“You two are welcome to the village of the Beginnings, chosen child and partner digimon. May I ask, what brings a bearer of the sacred power to this place? “Well,…” before Mana could muster a word, Ayaka was already interrupting her. “Don’t you ever dare to use a makeshift name when talking to digimons that should have your respect” she whispered in a severe tone “Even they find it less disrespectful to be pointed with digivices than to called something like Tree-sama” Mana sweatdropped at her partner’s seriousness but found a good deal of sense on her partner’s words, so she brought out her digivice and pointed it at the great tree; <Jyureimon; Level: Perfect; Type: Plant; Attribute: Virus; Families: Jungle Troopers, Nature Spirits, Wind Guardians> “Well, Jyureimon-sama” Ayaka began now that she knew the caretaker’s name “We are here more or less to show my partner the place where I was created… and relieve some pressure from your branches” At that last comment, the elder tree did a good-natured smile.
Mana couldn’t complain about the work that Jyureimon commended them, she loved babies! This place was just too relaxing, and as after a good meal and some rest, they were already taking care of a good amount of the newborn digimons. But amongst them all, a particular egg got Mana’s attention. According to the few in-trainings that were in there, the egg hadn’t hatched for the longest time. So she began carrying it anywhere she went, telling it stuff, and even telling things about herself. She felt somewhat silly but hey, maybe the only thing that that egg wanted was a little bit of affection. It was until she rubbed it that it finally hatched, and Mana’s jaw dropped all the way to the floor when she saw what that digimon was.
It was a Plumulmon. That appearance brought her so fond, and at the same time, so terrifying memories, now that she noted that had the same expression that Ayaka had when she tried to digievolve, but she was so afraid that she couldn’t help her and had to resort to Ryouta to “plant” her and water her. She grew concerned; there weren’t anyone capable of doing... Ayaka was already busy with feeding some hungry babies in the main section of the village. She sighed, she was afraid again, but this baby needed her and didn’t have anybody else to care for her. She did her best to put on a brave face and as she scooped the little seedling, she started walking to where the lake was.
Once there, she dug a small hole in the ground a little far from where the lake was and delicately planted the Plumulmon in the and then went to the nearby lake. She brought a cup from her backpack and gathered some water with it. She returned the fastest she could to where the little Plumulmon. She was extremely nervous, but finally steadied her hand as she gently poured the water on him. She seemed to be relaxing at the contact and then… she started shining! Mana closed her eyes at the blinding light, and as it subsided, the shape of a Cormon replaced the digimon’s previous shape. “Thank you very much, Mana-chan!” she said on a cheerful voice. And that just made it. She cradled the infant digimon in her arms, hugging her tightly and crying tears of joy all along the way.
“I think our time here as come to an end, Jyureimon-sama. Thank you so much for letting us rest in your village” Tears still descended from Mana’as cheeks, but her smile seemed to be more radiant that ever. The great tree obviously noticed that, and smiled at the duo.
“I should thank you, human” the old digimon answered “It brings joy to my old heart that youngsters are so interested in helping an old mon like myself. Even I’ll give you a little something for all the problems these newborns have caused to you. And don’t say you won’t accept it, I insist” “Alright, it’s our time to leave. Thank you very much, Jyureimon-sama!” as Ayaka evolved into Nephilamon again, Jyureimon, a mob of babies and the Cormon that Mana had helped waved goodbye to the duo, Mana responding them in kind. “Ayaka… Thank you. Now I know that even though I don’t change shapes, I’m also capable of evolving as much as you. You’re the best partner I could have hoped for” Yeah, maybe Ayaka’s cephalothorax was sticky due to all the moss that grew there, but that didn’t deter the affectionate hug that Mana gave her. “You do not have to thank me, missss Mana” she replied as she accelerated into their next destiny “No one iss invinssible. We all can fall, but the oness who risse again are indeed commendable people. And I am very proud of having a commendable persson ass my partner. I sshould be one thanking you”.

Sangloupmon raced through an immense forest with innate agility, style and speed in each of his movements. The predator digimon was designed as a hunter, and thus it had been gifted not only with amazing control of his own body, but with enhanced senses as well. Perhaps that was the reason that he could smell the nearest settlement when Tatsuya's sight was impeded by the forest's thick flora. The Kazan's right hand then collided with his partner's mane in a friendly way.
-So? Are we there yet? -Tatsuya asked funnily, acting as a little kid on purpose to get his partner on his nerves. The wolf clenched his teeth as he growled loudly, and barked afterwards. -For the fiftieth time today, NO, WE ARE STILL NOT THERE! Now keep quiet, damnit! -the lupine Digimon ordered, making his partner laugh loudly. Afterwards, the human looked at the horizon, which, unsurprisingly, was covered my more trees... he knew the Server Woods were big, but that was actually far too vast for his liking. He wondered how the locals would be dealing with it, though.
It was another ten minutes until sunlight could actually be spotted from afar. Smiling, the wolf like creature increased his pace, running up to, what he hoped, was the end of the forest. He could feel the scent of the Jungle Trooper Digimon that lived in the village, an example of how acute his nose was at that moment. As he jumped out of the final line of trees, they reached a small cliff from which you could see the settlement... almost covered by the flora as well!
-Wow. This is actually much worse than I expected it to be... Who takes care of it not growing so much? -the teen asked his partner, who just breathed, recovering from the race. -Don't ask me. You know I don't remember anything that happened before I woke up and met you for the first time... -the lupine monster stated, making his partner sigh.
-Moodkiller. -What are you talking about? -Nothing, pal. Let's go down there, either way. You are tired, aren't ya? -the teen finally asked his Sangloupmon, who negated with his head. -Nope. Remember, I'm designed to be able to last much longer... -he said. The teen chuckled. -You don't know just how wrong that sounded right now.
-I know, did it on purpose. Kay, then... get a grab where you can, because I'm taking a... "shortcut" -the wolf-like Digimon smiled, and before Tatsuya could even ask, he jumped from the cliff onto the path that lead to the top, which described a zig-zag pattern up to where they standed seconds before. Then, he repeated the same move three more times, until they reached the settlement.
Stepping down from his partner, he let Sangloupmon degenerate into Dorumon once more. Yellow light covered the wolf's body as it became much smaller and a black flash traveled into Tatsuya's D-3 once more. -Ah, finally! We might be able to get some rest... dude, I'm completely beaten! -he said, making his partner snort as he looked at him with an eyebrow quirked. -You do realize that you've done nothing but sit on my back, right, idiot? -he teased his partner, to which Tatsuya stuck his tongue out in a childish way.
-But maaaan, it is so tiring to do nothing... -the Kazan returned the tease. Afterwards, they were greeted by one of the villagers, a Palmon. -Welcome to our village! I hope... wait... an X-Antibody Digimon?! -it asked, in disbelief. Its voice seemed to be filled with fear, but also, dislike. Dorumon growled, and stepped forward. -Yeah, so? What about it? -he asked, not knowing why was he so furious.
-Uh... N-Nothing... W-What do you want? -it asked, much colder than it had been before its gaze dropped on Dorumon. Tatsuya noticed and stepped forward too. -Hey. I dunno why you're so scared, but I can assure you we don't bite. We just want a little water, some food... -the teen said. -We'll pay for them, of course. With bits if you want to, but we are also up to doing jobs... -he completed, making the Palmon gasp.
-Uh... L-Let me b-bring the ch-chief here... I think you... could help us -it shyly stated before disappearing into one of the nearby houses. Taking a better look, Tatsuya discovered that, should the forest keep on growing, it would cover the entire village for sure. It was just a few metres away from it, after all... Soon enough, the Palmon would finally return with someone next by. That time, it was a Champion Digimon, a Stingmon, to be exact.
-Oh... so you are the couple Palmon told me about... Now, will you come with me, please? I can offer you fresh water and supplies... if you do something for us, that is -the Stingmon said, getting near them and looking at Dorumon. -Gonna say anything about me? I warn you... keep the X-Antibody shit and you'll regret it -the Digimon stated, enraged.

To Dorumon's surprise, the Stingmon just laughed, as he looked at him. Crouching down, he looked at Dorumon in the eyes. -Well, well. Looks like we have a harsh one here... You must've had it rough to behave that way. Hasn't your Tamer teached you any manners...? -the Stingmon teased, looking at Tatsuya, who quirked an eyebrow and cracked a half-smile. -You can ask me to fly and it would be easier than getting him to behave -he stated, although he realized that his sentence made no sense since Stingmon could fly anyway.
Pointing towards a nearby building, the two villagers started moving, alongside Tatsuya and Dorumon, of course. Once they got inside what seemed to be the town hall, or anything of sort, at least in Tatsuya's eyes. As soon as they came inside, the Champion bug-like creature indicated a Floramon and a Mushroomon to prepare some food and fresh water for the duo, as it began talking about their upcoming task.
-In any case, let me tell you what you have to do. As you have probably noticed on your way here, the Server Woods are getting more and more extense, to the point that they are growing so fast that our village is threatened of being isolated due to the deep mass of trees that surround us. It is getting more and more difficult to keep our communications with the Village of Begginings, Terminus and Whitewater... and this is where you two come in -the Stingmon paused, breathing for air, since it was pretty old. Afterwards, he resumed his speech.
-We need you to cut down a portion of the forest. As big as it is now, getting rid of a third of its extension should do it. Also... it would be a pity if the resources went to waste just by cutting them, so when you are finished, please bring those logs here. We aren't getting short on wood, but I'm sure we'll find some use to the material, to make some repairs and build some new stores, for example -the village chief continued, looking at the pair of Digimon.
Dorumon growled again: for some reason, he didn't trust the Digimon, although he couldn't discern the reason behind that feeling. His attention was then drawn by the food, and jumped on it with haste, gobbling the fruit and other specialties of the village. Tatsuya chuckled at his partner's reaction. -I guess we can't back off now. Sure, you'l have that forest cut in no time... -he began to say, but then the Stingmon added another condition to their bargain.
-Also... please restrain yourself from using any kind of fire move. It would just create a dangerous situation we should avoid -he mentioned, with Tatsuya's face staring at him in disbelief. -What? No way! It'll take us ages then... But like hell I'm going to give up! Though you'll have to include a few bits to make us accept that condition -he attempted to negotiate with the Stingmon.
-Alright. So, then... if you're ready, you'll begin in an hour. When the time passed, the duo found themselves with a mighty task to accomplish: tearing through a forest, the time for the completion being two days or less, since they were eager to keep exploring. Tatsuya sighed, and pulled out his D-3, pointing it at Dorumon, who then turned into his Champion form, BlackGrowlmon.
-Kay then... let's begin, pal! -Tatsuya muttered, sitting on his partner's shoulder as the latter activated its Dark Plasma Blade attack, making one of his melee strikes enough to tear through a log, making the tree fall a second later. Chaining his attacks with a few kicks and bites whenever they didn't fall, the duo covered a nice extension in about... two hours.
-Darn it... this is actually going a lot slower than I first thought. If we could just burn these trees, it would be a hell easier... I just wished there was a faster, easier way to do this -Tatsuya muttered to himself, as BlackGrowlmon kept hitting trees as strong as he could. The logs were then transported by some of the villagers who had offered themselves, since it wasn't a part of their contract to do it, but rather, a side petition from the Stingmon.
-Tatsuya... we could just go Ultimate and make this a lot faster, you know. Or have you forgotten MetalGreymon X's Trident Arm, which is sharp as fuck, dumbass? -the dinosaur roared, talking to his partner, who facepalmed. -Oh, dear lord... I guess I should really pay more attention to what we're doing. Well then... let me down for a little -he said, jumping off the shoulder and pointing his D-3 at his partner once again.
Light envelopped the dragon-like monster, who shouted out loud. -BlackGrowlmon... Cho Shinka!! After the light faded, a much taller, half-mechanized dragon stood in front of his Tamer. Its body was far more defined and muscular, which didn't make him less fast, but rather, even more speedy. -MetalGreymon X! -the new creature called out.
With Tatsuya climbing again, the giant monster reached forward with his metallic Trident Arm at the same time the rockets began lifting his body, as eight energy wings appeared. Lunging forward, his arm began shredding through the trees without stopping, their clearing speed increasing exponentially. Within an hour, they had already finished their task in record time, thanks to the Ultimate's sheer power and speed.
Back at the village, Tatsuya and Dorumon recieved their payment from a thankful Stingmon, as well as a free room in the inn for them to spend the rest of the night. It was a well-done job, and Tatsuya was proud about it, but he was even prouder of how strong had his partner become. At that rate... Dorumon might end up fulfilling his dream.

They've all got the same heartbeat, but her's is falling behind. [Following the events of Why Do We Fight? ]
The rain had clear off and now the sun was shining brightly. AJ and Patch stepped outside the cabin, enjoying the soft breeze that rustled the toy-laden trees.
"So what now?" AJ asked, glancing down at her Rookie partner. The Mikemon just shrugged. They had a little bit of time before they had to go home. Most afternoon after school they made trips to the Digital World, exploring a different section each time. This time, they had ended up the Primary village, which Patch explained where Digimon were born or reborn.
A voice piped up from behind them. "Well, you could help out a bit if you're looking for something to do."
AJ turned back around. blinking, to see that it was Swanmon speaking to them.
"Oh sorry. It's just that with all the ruckus from earlier, even with Tinkermon helping out, I wasn't able to finish feeding all the babies. Of course, I'll pay you for your troubles, dearie."
AJ smiled and shrugged. "Sure, why not? We could really use the money too."
"Thank you so much dearie. The bottle and everything you need is in the cabin."
AJ tilted her head, watching as Swanmon waddled off. The Italian teen shrugged and made her way back into the cabin. Gathering some bottles from a basket on the table and the formula from the cabinet, she set to warming up the babies' food. She set back to bottling the formula.
"Do we have to do this?" he whined.
AJ gave her partner a withering look, but it quickly turned to a smile. "Yeah, why not. Plus we are getting paid."
Patch sighed and continued at his job. Once the bottles were ready, AJ placed them back in a basket and head outside. Patch went left and AJ went right.
AJ made her way to the first cradle and picked up the Fresh-level digimon. The little one took to the bottle quickly. As soon as it was done, she set it back down in the cradle and continued to make her way through the sea.
While she was in the middle of feeding her eleventh or twelfth Fresh level, her crystalline gazed roamed across the quilted hills, searching for Patch. She tilted her head when she found him setting on the crest of a hill among some eggs.
She gently placed the little one back in the cradle and made her way up the hill. When AJ was beside Patch, she smiled and looked down. "Whatcha got there?"
"A digiegg..." he responded. Sure enough he was holding an egg between his legs. AJ took note of the orange and green racing around it's circumference.
"I see that," she said, humor obvious in her voice.
"It's my digiegg..."
AJ frowned slightly. "You're digiegg?"
"Well, not mine, but it has one of me inside."
AJ smiled again and sat down beside her partner. She stroked the smooth side of the egg. "I remember when we met. Well...really when I met your egg. Then you broke it open and you were YukimiBotamon. Then the next morning you grew to Nyarmon and I woke up to you biting me cause you were hungry again."
Patch gave her a wistful half smile.
"You've grown so much..." she said, but was interrupted as the egg began to vibrate. Sure enough, a crack descended down the side and pieces began to break off. A YukimiBotamon popped out, beady eyes blinking. AJ took the little Fresh and put a bottle to it's mouth. After it was done, she settled it down in the cradle it's egg pieces had made.
She looked over at her partner who smiled back. They stood up and continued their rounds.

The sun was shining down the Village of Beginnings and Hiro was thankful for that at least. The sunlight made the morning chill bearable and promised a temperate afternoon. He carefully shifted the basket on his back that was filled to the brim with various toys that he had harvested off the trees. The fact that toys grew on trees here still kind of made a part of Hiro's mind go tilt, but he was adapting quite well. The Digital World just made no sense. "I hope this is enough." Hiro looked over at the basket. He had harvested a few basket fulls earlier, but the toys here didn't exactly have a high lifetime. The variety of baby Digimon, with their slightly acidic saliva and complete disregard for safety meant that a lot of toys got destroyed or gummed to death quickly. "I'm sure it will be." Tetsu chirped cheerfully from his place on Hiro's head, playing with a miniature ball in a cup toy. Hiro paused a step at the voice. He still hadn't quite gotten used to Tetsu's new form, but he was at least accepting of it now. He had been angry at first, thinking that his Digivice had tried to replace Tetsu with a new Digimon. He had at least taken care of the Chicomon, feeding it and making sure it was safe, but Hiro had denied it was his partner. He denied this until he found the Chicomon digging into his pack. When he pulled the baby out of his bag he found the blue ball chewing on his metal chopsticks. The little guy couldn't digest the things but still tried to eat them. Hiro had not been happy to clean up that mess. But the final nail in the coffin was when the little guy Digivolved into Chibimon and started speaking. Hiro just shook his head and shifted the basket into a more comfortable position. He had gone off with Chibimon to find a reason for his change but he none of the Digimon in Terminus City had given him any solid information. So it was with more questions than answers that Hiro returned to the Village of Beginnings to help Cherrymon out with the children. There was a job posting back in Terminus and he figured he had been doing that same job while waiting for Tetsu to be reformatted so why not? "There you are." Speak of the devil and he appears. The old man of a tree walked over to him and grumbled as he took the basket from Hiro's shoulders. A bunch of baby Digimon were all resting on his branches and as soon as he held up the basket full of toys, the Digimon all hopped off into the basket. Hiro winced as he watched the toys start to get demolished by the energetic babies. "Oi, you brats. Careful, what did I tell you about sharing?"The baby Digimon paused a moment before all cooing in unison. The basket exploded outward, sending toys raining down the entire area. Hiro stared at the rain of toys and the cheering baby Digimon all around him. "Well, that's a thing." "Yeah, that should entertain them for a bit." The Cherrymon said in contentment even as his branches were once again filled with playing Digimon. The tree did a wonderful job of ignoring the various toys stuck in his leaves and branches. "Well, good job on the harvest. Those should be enough for the rest of the week." The tree lifted an arm to catch a falling baby before lifting him back onto a branch. "Now get to formula duty, brat. These little'uns aren't going to feed themselves." Hiro groaned. He hated formula duty. Sensing his partner's deress. Chibimon immediately jumped in to raise his partner's spirit. "Come on, Hiro. This is nothing. We're helping out the innocent. Think of all the good we're doing.""Yeah, yeah." Hiro sighed but smiled at his partner's antics. Same old Tetsu. Even deletion didn't seem to damper his spirits. It was a nice change of pace from the quiet he had been enduring or the cooing that Chicomon did as he followed him. "One yeah is enough." Tetsu scolded before tugging Hiro's hair to lead him forward. "Now onward, we have mouths to feed."Hiro walked dutifully forward towards the kitchen area. He rummaged around for a bunch of bottles and the formula mix before placing a pot on the fire. He looked over at the large box before pouring out the required amounts of mix and water. He sat there stirring the large batch of formula as Chibimon trilled out a nonsensical tune to pass the time. He filled a test bottle before dripping a drop on his wrist. He flinched as the heat. It was too hot. As he waited for the formula to cool down he wondered how Cherrymon tested the formula since he didn't have skin. After a few more tests, Hiro felt that the formula was the right temperature and started filling the bottles. Hiro carried the bottles out to the babies, Tetsu following slowly behind with one bottle in his tiny arms. He set up a small heat pad to keep the formula's warm before starting on the long process of feeding the many babies. The babies were pretty finicky today so Hiro had a hard time feeding them. They kept squirming in his arms and a few had spit up on his shirt. Tetsu was having an easier time despite his smaller body. Hiro sighed as he finally finished the last bottle and baby in this batch. Cherrymon would be able to handle the rest or at least that's what he said when Hiro had come back for work. He stretched and worked the kinks out of his arm. The baby Digimon all around him were all sleeping contently after their meal. "A day full of good work." Tetsu cheered happily as he climbed up Hiro's body to get to the top of his head. It was harder without his claws but his new body had arms instead of being a quadruped so he managed. Hiro grunted at the familiar weight on his head, even if the distribution was off from before. He smiled and patted his partner on the head. His time in the Digital World was almost up, but he had reunited with his partner and he was helping out at a nice place. It wasn't that bad of a way to end his trip. [Fin]
