Dear, dear... this 'Sebastian' was dearly important to K, wasn't he? The Mikemon joined in her sigh, giving a simple nod in agreement. "He lived a happy, if simple, life." That was about the extent of what he had known, what he had been able to comfort the fox with.
Soon enough, that topic would fade into her idea: sitting on the couch next to the Renamon, Mikemon listened as K explained her idea. If the Sovereign's data was able to hold back the D-Reaper, then perhaps all they needed to do was find a Sovereign and ask them about it? It was a simple idea, but definitely not one without merit. However, as quickly as the doctor mulled it over, he shook his head.
"To start with," he said, "I'm having trouble picturing pulling this off in my head. The Knights appear in times of the Digital World's upmost need, and the Demon Lords are elements of their own sin. With the former it may be possible - but they would act by themselves before passing it onto one of the land."
He had skipped the first choice - the Sovereign. And with a heavy sigh, the doctor explained why: "And consider this: the D-Reaper's appearance in the past stirred the Sovereign to action. Through some means, these statues were created to combat the D-Reaper throughout the ages. However, despite their own creations being destroyed, the Sovereign have not yet reappeared."
The cat paused for a moment, letting that all sink in.
"Assume the rules are the same as back then - if the Sovereign were able, they would have appeared. Assuming that this is the case, why haven't they emerged?"

A happy, simple life?
The renamon ran a hand through her fur; musing over that fact for a few swift moments. After what had happened in the north between her, her mother and him well she had felt bad for a good time before eventually forgetting as the lack of a core meant she had issues with-holding some information. But with that knowledge slowly easing in it only made it worse for her; making her wish that she could of spent more time with him even if it was.. well. Even if it was a little bit here and there. There was a soft sigh and she'd reach over to give the Mikemon an affectionate rub of the ear.
"It's... good to know my father at least got that much."
With that said the next topic would be explained; thought out and hopefully the mikemon would have some ideas of his own. The renamon sat there quietly as the mikemon thought about it. She'd gently scratch at one of her own ears frowning slightly.
"Feh... So that's unlikely to work then huh? There's so many problems occurring around the digital world I'm more surprised the Knights haven't made some kind of appearance."
The renamon considered quietly what the mikemon was saying; that the D-reaper's appearance had stirred the Sovereign into action. That the Statues were created to combat them and hopefully keep them at bay. But with the creations destroyed and the sovereigns not reappearing...
She furrowed her brow at the implications that they might be gone; or might be otherwise indisposed. Which only meant that there was one real route to take.
"So with the Sovereign's indisposed, the knights missing and the Demonlords likely to be largely unhelpful. The only real option that I suggested that has a chance of actually working is by far the most dangerous."
There was a shake of her head and she'd consider quietly what to do about this. She'd weigh her options for a few moments and gaze at the mikemon; she had almost forgotten her drink but she certainly made certain to nurse it at this point.
"What do you think that we should do then? Continue on as we have? Take some risks? I still need to rest up and such before going about anything like this were I to."

"And now you understand why the general world has a bit of disdain towards the Knights as a whole."
Mikemon gave a sigh, his tone tired and frustrated - at least as far as that line was concerned. "Though to be fair, the Demon Lords aren't doing much to raise their hands to help either." His tone quickly moved to be a touch concerned, though: was K considering infecting herself to try and find a way to deal with the D-Reaper? Blinking at the thought, Mikemon shook his head.
"Unfortunately, that 'worst option' has already come to pass. Anyone who has fought the D-Reaper at any capacity has had themselves infected, at least in a minor amount. Some manifest techniques, while others completely change in appearance. Thankfully, most of them retain most of their sanity..." Mikemon sighed.
"But we are not at a lack for subjects." He gave a smile, gently resting his hand atop the Renamon's leg: "For now, I'll be doing what I have been doing - and look for additional patients to see if I can figure out a thing or two. Perhaps you can assist with observation, see if there's anything I miss - a fresh set of eyes never hurt."
"As for rest," the cat mulled it over, "Tomorrow I have my general patient appointments. The day after that?" The cat gave a slight blush: "Well. How about we just leave that between you and me?"

"Can't really blame them there, it's fairly unfortunate but... it is what it is."
The renamon shook her head a little bit and rubbed her muzzle raising her brow just a little bit at the mention of the demonlords not raising their hands to help either. She didn't really need to comment on that one; as her previous statement would carry over.
"Well that and any chance of infection I had was sort of nipped in the bud by me getting digitized."
There was a soft frown and she'd consider for a brief moment the techniques they might manifest, changes in appearance... There was probably more and she didn't really want to think about that honestly. She'd give herself a small shake of her head.
"So it's a matter of treating, figuring out what to do with those infected and how to go about combating them from that."
Her brows shot up a little bit however when he suggested that she help with observing any patients he did find. She'd mull it over a little bit; tinker with it in her head a bit and then give a firm nod.
"Certainly; though I'll try to keep quiet while you're dealing with them. Wouldn't want to distract you too much."
So tomorrow was the general patient appointments? It probably meant she'd spend most of the time relaxing; lazing around and trying to center herself a little bit. She'd flick an ear and gently give the mikemon a squeeze around his shoulders.
"Sounds good to me, it'll be nice to just enjoy one another's company~"
The renamon gave the mikemon a smile and leaned against him. If there was any subtle tone to what he may of been implying she certainly had missed it. Then again; her mind was somewhat preoccupied for the moment....

"At the very least, we can be glad you managed to get out without any infection." Not that K being Digitized didn't have its own complications, but at the very least the Renamon rather quickly abandoned the idea of becoming a carrier herself.
Mikemon's plan wasn't much, but at the very least he would be serving a necessary role. Even if this entire matter was sorted out overnight, the presently-infected would still likely need treatment. "Mm, don't sell yourself short. I know you well enough to know that you can be a decent assistant in a hospital room." Giving K that slight boost of confidence, he let the conversation trail on.
Tomorrow, Mikemon would perform his 'normal' office work. The day after, they'd simply dedicate their time to each-other. Feeling the fox lean over his side, the cat chuckled and leaned back against her, the small Digimon offering a surprising amount of support with his Champion-level frame. Today, the two had a lot to think about...
... Though, Mikemon was quite looking forward to that 'day after tomorrow'.

"Small blessing I suppose. If I had been infected I don't know how things would of turned out in general."
The renamon shook her head a little bit and looked down at her hands quietly. If she had been infected she would of been fighting with guru in that area still wouldn't she? Or whatever had happened there; it wasn't really... Like they knew what had happened but it could of vastly changed if she had been a part of what could be considered the enemy.
She'd flash a small smile to the Mikemon at him telling her not to sell herself short. That he knew that she would be or would of been a decent assistant in a hospital room. It reminded her distinctly of those medical tents she had been a part of and how harrowing each of them had been.
She'd sigh softly and shake her head.
The following day was easy, it was simple and it was straightforward. She kept to herself and kept herself upstairs away from those that would come in and those that would see her. She didn't want to complicate things here for the mikemon and the fewer people that saw her the better. She wasn't ashamed of being with Mikemon; no she was just worried she would be distracting when he had work. Even if he said she wouldn't be she didn't want to take that risk.
The day after that however?
Well it was filled to the brim with love, passion and a gentle understanding. Soft pushes, soft pulls. Enjoying one another's company and wistfully reflecting on how they should of done this sooner. Conversations easily passed into it time and time again so much so that the renamon wasn't even sure where once started and the other ended.
At the end of that day she was brought with the strange idea that they had managed something she hadn't really thought about. It didn't really strike her until she was sitting up in the bed the next morning a hand to her head and a flush on her face. She'd exhale softly and shake her head; rolling her shoulders as she could feel the activity from the previous day strike her body a few times. She'd turn her head, unsure how to approach this but figuring there was no reason to be coy she'd address the mikemon regardless of his current state.
"Tch... That was a long day that I certainly can say I enjoyed but... Now that my data's stable do you think we...?"

All-in-all, the next two days had gone along rather smoothly - though, not all of Mikemon's regular patients were easy ones. Between the Lillymon slowly regaining her voice, the slowly progressing curse on a Biyomon's leg, and a new case of a Guardromon starting to lose his long-term memory, Doctor Mikemon had quite the variety of problems to solve. He wasn't one to shy away from these complicated cases, but sometimes it felt like he was driving himself into a corner trying to think of an answer.
The following day, however, was a much needed reprieve: no worries, no hard thought, no planning. Just a day between the Renamon and himself, seeing the town, enjoying the beach, and spending a nice, long and passionate evening with each-other. For that one day, there was just that one day, no worry or thought of the past or the future. Content and comfortable, the feline rested with his head against the Renamon's side, softly clinging to her throughout the night.
As the two stirred in the morning, the faint consequences of yesterday settled in - faint clicks of their joints and light fatigue in their muscles made both a little slow to get up. With K sitting up, the cat gave a light sigh, slowly sitting up with his own yawn. Tiredly, he rested his head against K's side. It took him a moment to piece together the Renamon's question, the feline giving a yawn.
"Its certainly possible," Mikemon muttered, lightly giving a scratch over the fox's back. "Its something I could check. If there's anything, your data would have a very recognizable marker. Let's see..."
Provided K didn't object, the cat would reach for his crystal sphere, lightly peer through it, and pause. He blinked, stunned for a moment, before he gave a chuckle - followed by a nod, and a simple blush. "Heh..."

The renamon knew without a doubt that the mikemon probably was looking forward to when they could spend time together. Even if it hadn't been something as... Strenuous as what their interactions had been. Well perhaps strenuous was the wrong word. She'd have to say that it was lovely; gentle and something that the both of them probably sorely needed.
It was relaxing; comfortable and honestly the renamon wasn't sure how they managed as well as they did. Or how they would manage the after effects. With a soft groan she'd run a hand through her fur and then gently run one hand through the feline's. Sure his fur probably wasn't as thick as hers but that didn't mean anything to her; she liked the sensation. She had to admit she liked feeling something other than the lonely sheets when waking up.
That was honestly what she was missing if she thought about it. That the inn never was able to give her something like this; it was always able to provide her people to serve but... She was never able to relax and enjoy someone else's company so thoroughly that all she wanted to do was sleep some more.
She'd stretch a little bit as she felt that scratch along her back and gave the mikemon a small smile. So there were ways of checking this sort of thing? There were distinct markers that you could find? She didn't know that; honestly she didn't even know how this sort of thing worked. After all it would be her.. third time?
The renamon didn't object at the cat reaching for that sphere; it was something she was comfortable with and something that she had seen many times. K felt her face turn a little red however when it seemed the cat was stunned. Then there was that nod... and that blush he had. She'd rub her muzzle and give him a small toothy grin.
"...So what do we do? Does it just pop into existence here or...."
The renamon paused for a few moments and felt her blush deepen which was only followed by a hand to her face.
"I don't know anything about how to raise a kid..."

Right now, Mikemon had to take a few moments to comprehend what he just saw. The shock and surprise of it all had hit him before the proper emotion, but soon enough, a small smile curled at the edge of the feline's lips. It was a bit sooner than he expected, but he wasn't going to deny the happiness he felt - even if going forward was going to be a bit of an uncertain road. Hearing K's question, the cat gave a nod.
"Yes, the egg will be in the Village of Beginnings. Its better to pick it up within the day." And seeing that hand against her head, the cat gave a small blush, and a chuckle himself: "Well, I don't much, either. But its not like we're alone in this. Between the Swanmon and everyone else, we'll figure something out."
He mulled it over: "It'll be fun, hard, frustrating at times, but with you? I'm excited." Mikemon gave a smirk, and with cheeks tinged red, motioned for K to lean closer. With that, he'd lean in, and give her one more deep, passionate kiss, spanning over several moments.
"Mm..." As that kiss broke, he gave a smile to the fox. "Get your cloak, let's get freshened up. We'll take the next train we can over there." His tone was calm and confident, Mikemon soon setting himself about his morning routine...
And, soon enough, Mikemon and K would board the train to the Eastern Timberlands. This early in the morning, the two managed to have a car almost to themselves - or at the very least, a place to sit down. Not many went out that far, of course: stop after stop, the group would thin out, until it would be just the two on trek for the closest station to the Village of Beginnings.
There, in the relative silence of it all, the cat asked a simple question:
"How do ya feel?"

K didn't really knowhow to feel about all of this, she didn't know how she was going to do this nor did she really know how to properly take care of someone else in this regard. She had vague recollections of things that her mother did back when she was younger but... She never really had a proper childhood did she? The renamon's ear flicked and dipped her head in a nod.
"Just so it doesn't get too far or mixed up right?"
She'd blink a little bit and sigh softly; here she was being the one to worry and he was the one that was figuring that they would be fine. Honestly it felt like their roles were reversed at the moment! With a soft chuckle she'd give the Cat a scratch behind his ear.
"You have a point, maybe I shouldn't be so worried..."
She'd tilt her head just a little bit as he spoke, saying that it would be fun and frustrating... then saying as it was with her so the mikemon would be excited. She'd lean in of course and let out a soft sound at the kiss, gingerly running a hand down his back as she returned it softly. She wasn't very good at this sort of stuff and she felt like a child sometimes when it came to it.
When the kiss broke she'd rub her muzzle softly and dip her head in a nod as he told her to go get her cloak so they could freshen up. She'd stretch and slowly get out of bed with an oof.
"All ri-... Oh. Yeah. That."
The renamon paused when he mentioned the train; she was distinctly reminded of the event that had led to her adventuring again. A derailed trailmon and her meeting a strange but reliable renamon. Rather than go get her cloak, her cloak was quick to come to her sensing the intent of it's owner it'd float over the soft fabric pressing against her body for a moment before settling in around her.
"I'm not a fan of trains but... it'll be faster than taking... well. My transportation at least."
The renamon took a seat in the car surprised at the distinct lack of people. But perhaps she shouldn't be surprised as how early it was; she'd look around watching people depart and once they had the car to themselves she'd stare out of the window looking rather thoughtful. She'd perk up however when she was asked a simple question.
"...Like tis is just a dream. I never once thought about having kids before; it never really clicked with me. Like I said before I was okay with having them with you but... that doesn't warrant me thinking about it so soon. Honestly I was expecting this later; but this isn't something I'm so much afraid of rather I'm afraid for."
The renamon wrung her hands a bit and looked somewhat nervously at the mikemon.
"I'm not my mother, she was really good with kids and well... I'm not. I don't think at least. What about you?"

K wasn't the best on Trailmon, was she?
Seeing the fox just a bit more tense than she usually was, Mikemon kept himself close to the fox - even wrapping a paw around her hand, as the train calmly sped along, the grassland rolling by outside the windows. Fortunately, there wouldn't be anything close to K's earlier experience on a Trailmon, and after a while, perhaps she would get a touch more used to it.
Soon enough, the pair would be more distracted by the conversation. "I get what you mean. I mean, I'm glad, but its definitely a bit sudden - and there's still quite a bit that we both have to take care of, even aside from the egg." He gave a sigh out, and gave a nod to her last comment.
As for him? "Nervous and excited - my mind's going about a mile a minute right now. I... I think I'm going to look into setting up a nursery in my club's base, just so our kid's always got someone to look out for 'em. Ah - our stop's coming up."
Indeed - the train came to a hiss and a stop, just outside the Village of Beginnings. Recent events had made the place just a bit more wary, but at least the one that greeted the two was a cheery Swanmon, wings outstretched to welcome the two! "Ah, welcome! What can I help you two with?"
Oof, straight to the point? Mikemon gave a blush, giving a slight glance towards K. "We're, um... here to look for our egg?"
"Oh! Well, then right along this way - and of course, congratulations, you two!" The Swanmon gave a chuckle, and led along, leaving Mikemon a bit flustered as he moved to follow along. Well, the cat didn't mean for it to sound so awkward, but he couldn't help it!

Honestly it was a surprise that the renamon had even agreed to get onto one of these damn things. There were moments that she kept checking out of the window; not to take in the scenery but to check for someone or something that may or may not attack them. She'd flinch visibly however when mikemon wrapped a paw around her hand but not before she'd turn her head and give him a small smile. She was glad for something to take her mind off of well.. this.
"It's a matter that we both are just going to have to get used to juggling along with the other things we want to do. I just..."
The renamon sighed and ran a hand along her muzzle blinking owlishly when he answered her question. A mile a minute? Wait a club? The renamon blinked a few more times and turned her head to look at the stop as it came up.
"I can say I'm in the same boat but... What club? I feel like I missed something here. Just something that helps you pass the time when off the job or... something else? But if you trust the people in there to take care of them I should do the same."
K glanced around as they entered in; carefully gauging the area for threats and almost completely ignoring the Swanmon for a few seconds before giving them a small smile. The mikemon answered the digimon's question almost immediately and she'd dip her head in a nod at his answer.
She'd scratch at her head a little bit and find herself gently rubbing the top of the mikemon's head before padding to follow after the swanmon.
"Cheerful sort; would be the first time I've actually met a Swanmon. Last time I was here they weren't very punctual but I can't help but feel something's changed..."
There was an earnest sigh and the renamon ran a thoughtful paw through her fur mulling over what she would do. What she could do. What she should name this child.
She wasn't going to follow the same path as her mother and father as naming went if it was left to her. But she certainly had a few ideas already...

It was quite the thing to take up, that much was certain. The D-Reaper aside, GraceNovamon aside, this egg was about to become the most important part of both of their lives. Unfortunately, it wasn't as if the world was going to be on hold for them, not at all.
With that in mind, Mikemon gave a blink: had he not told her about it? "Oh, right - actually, I joined and helped fund a base for a research club, over in the Network Plains. Once I wrap up these last few cases in Whitewater, I've been thinking of moving over there - and with the egg coming, well, its probably the best choice I can make. My small office and apartment's not going to be enough for it." Both explaining and thinking aloud, the cat kept that thought in his mind until the two were off the train - soon led by the Swanmon into the Village proper.
K had a point - the Swanmon were being awfully cautious. Mikemon simply returned a nod as the two moved down the path. The Swanmon herself didn't seem to want to add anything, but she did give a sigh, shaking her head slightly at, well, the thought of something.
Thankfully, the tone didn't last too long: the Swanmon stopped, stepped off to her side, and gestured the pair off the path with an outstretched wing. Before them were a number of eggs, each resting on a small colored cushion, several in number. "Well, these are our new arrivals. Now, Miss Renamon," the bird gave a nod to her, "Quite simple - just follow the tug of your core. There should be an egg here that you're drawn to - and don't worry, the connection will be so strong, it'll be unmistakable that it'll be anything else. Take your time, and be careful, dear!"
"Heh." Mikemon nodded, giving K a slight pat on her back. "Unfortunately, it's not the same case for me. But you'll find 'em."

All the problems in the world would likely never equate to the experience of raising a child. She did care that they were still problems but then again this would take priority for a time up until she knew what to do or where to go. She didn't want to be the mother that was never there though and felt like if she didn't at least stay around for a while that she would end up being a poor example.
"Huh. That's actually rather interesting to learn; a little surprising to hear that you'd consider moving but I'm not going to lie it's a good step for you."
There was a small awkward pause and she'd rub the back of her neck, looking around for a few moments before sighing. The Swanmon honestly was being careful enough to where K had to think something happened since her last visit here. It had been really easy and no one had come to the train station beforehand. She wanted to ask but... well. That would complicate things.
Upon arriving to where the eggs were the renamon slowly looked around biting her lower lip in a mix of frustration and surprise. There were quite a few eggs here weren't there? One of them would be hers and mikemon's while the rest would be waiting for their parents for a while probably. This would be the first time experiencing this so she simply nodded at the bird as they explained what she should do. She'd glance down at Mikemon and give him a small smile.
"Well lets see what we have here then..."
K would of course take her time slowly walking from each egg. Inspecting each curiously but ultimately shaking her head at each one. There was no tug, no connection, no pull. About halfway through the bunch that was here she'd pause considerably at one particular egg. Kneeling a bit she'd gingerly place a hand onto a very plain looking egg. Sure the pattern was orange, blue and black checkered but compared to the eggs around it it wasn't very stand outish. The renamon slowly took the egg from it's resting place rather carefully, staring at it for a short time before letting out a small exasperated sigh.
"Well. My... 'core' tells me it's this one."
She'd slowly stand up, looking somewhat uncertainly back at the swanmon and the mikemon not sure how they were going to progress now..
"...What happens now?"

A good step? Mikemon couldn't help but give a chuckle: "Well, at this point, its more a step I'm making for the egg. Though it will be nice to get out of the hustle and bustle of the city, there's still a lot I'm gonna be missing."
The cafe, the beach, the diner where the two had their first date, his entire poker group! There was a lot to give up for this, Mikemon both excited and tense for the next few months to come. But right now, all he could do was leave it to K, to find their egg. Honestly, Mikemon couldn't help but be a little bit concerned.
What if they picked up the wrong one? What if the egg wasn't there at all? What if it was a boy or a girl? Alright, that last bit was the cat looking perhaps a little bit too far into the future, but he couldn't help it - his thoughts were darting all over the place! Thankfully, K returned soon enough, a surprisingly plain egg held in the Renamon's grip. Before Mikemon could even comment, the Swanmon stepped closer, circling around to the side, first examining the egg and then the fox that was holding it.
"Mhm!" The Swanmon gave a nod! "Oh, that one is definitely yours, Miss Renamon. Now, come along this way, both of you. We'll get a box to keep it nice and safe - for now?" Carefully, the Swanmon 'guided' K's grip on the egg, moving it so she was carefully cradling the 'child' in her arms. As the three set down the path, Mikemon couldn't help but smile, a bright expression beaming across his face.
He was nervous, yes - but darn it, that was his kid! He couldn't be happier!
It didn't take too much longer, perhaps another ten minutes or so before the two were back on the train. The egg was secured for the ride - held in a nice box, soft material within holding the egg secure. The Doctor himself was leaning against Ki's side as the train rumbled along, both in comfort and to distract K from the ride.
It was comfortable - but soon enough, a buzzing sound radiated above. "Seat 37? Phone on the line for you."
"Oh, now? Don't worry," Mikemon shrugged, standing up to move to the front of the car. "I get these, sometimes. Medical consultation." The Doctor didn't think it weird enough, simply stepping up, picking up the line. After introducing himself, though, his head titled, confused at the wording.
"Er... alright?" He looked back towards K: "Hun? It's for you, I guess?"
