Had things been a rollercoaster of emotions for Boru the Psychemon since he and his brothers left Rustport Town to look for their sister and her digimon tamer. Too much had transpired to even recap it in some simple sentences. Now, he was actually traveling along some Lekismon named Fei, who identified herself as ‘The Traveler’. Where were they heading? Well, Terminus was definitely the final destination, but it was clear as water that Boru had to be prepared for the battles he would be facing then. Titania was no longer by his side and, according to Fei, he had a great amount of power that could still be unleashed, so she had to train him to get better, stronger, fitter, to save his brothers.
Their travels had taken them to an old town around the Railroad Plains where apparently some sort of festival was being held. Digimon walking around the streets looking at different stands where vegetables and fruits of all kinds could be seen. A giant banner showed the words ‘Harvest Festival’ written in Digital World language. The town was apparently known as Nuruka Village.
“Well, this town seems to be full of joy today.” Fei walked up front, stopping every now and then to look at what the stands had for showing. “This looks great.” She mentioned, picking up one red round fruit. “This is a Bulk Berry, and it’s really hard to see one of these around. They only grow in very cold environments and it’s usually very hard to move them to hot weathers such as this without them spoiling. I remember once seeing one around the top of Terabyte Mountain.”
One of his claws placed in the lower part of his mouth, Boru tilted his head. “You sure know a lot about fruits and vegetables, Feishi.” The Psychemon seemed rather impressed by this display of knowledge coming from his master, even though this tended to happen. “In how many places have you actually been?”
“A lot.” A deadpan on her face, the Lekismon replied. “But I do pay special attention to things like plants and their fruits since a lot of them are used for crafting medicines and such.” She continued, while she took her D-Terminal out and transferred some money to the seller, an Alraumon.
“Excuse me but… are you a doctor or something like that?” The plant asked; a bit of shyness could be sensed in her voice. Fei threw a warm smile at her before answering her question. “I was a nurse for a while. Although right now I’m retired, I like to keep myself updated regarding the things that are commonly used for healing, and that’s why I read a lot about it.” She explained. “How did you managed to bring these fruits from Terabyte Mountain here without them getting spoiled or anything?” She asked. Might as well exchange information now that the seller had asked her something, right?
“I come from a small town at the foot of Terabyte Mountain. We’ve been through a lot and, since we’re trying to make the town flourish once again, I am bringing fruits from there to sell in this festival, since I know they are pretty popular and lots of people come here to look for new fruits.” The digimon explained. It seemed like she had been working really hard. “My spores can cover and isolate the heat, so I just cover them with it until I reach here and I’m able to sell them.” She added. "You should eat those rather soon though, tomorrow might be a little too late."
“That’s amazing!” Boru remarked, fairly marveled by this Alraumon's determination. “I can see you’re working very hard for the prosperity of your town, so keep doing that!” He clenched a fist, a firm countenance on his face.
“You’re doing great.” Fei remarked once the transaction was completed, to then take a bite of one of the fruits the Alraumon gave to her in a bag. “This is really good! You’ve got to try this, Boru.” A very pleasant expression denoted how much she was loving the taste of this fruit.
“Thank you very much. I’m just doing my best to maintain the fire of Rococo Village alive!” The Alraumon stated.
“This is so good!” The Psychemon managed to say as he munched on one of the fruits.
“So that is the town you come from? I’ve never heard of it…” Fei frowned, trying to see if she could place it in her head.
“Yes.” The Alraumon nodded. “A lot of people left the town due to some trouble we had a while ago, so I’m trying to bring digimon to live there.”
“You said that town is at the foot of Terabyte Mountain, didn’t you?” Boru blinked, realizing there could be a hint here. The possibilities weren’t high but… Just after Alraumon nodded again, he went for the question he was trying to go for from the start. “By any chance do you know a Lopmon named Jazz and a human tamer named Katherine?” He had to try, didn’t he? After all, the lead that Reiki gave to the duo before leaving Rustport, pointed to Terabyte Mountain, and this town seemed to be really close.
“Oh?” She tilted her head for a second, the flower from above making a slight movement. Boru’s eyes began glimmering, as soon as he heard the answer the plant gave to him. “Of course! They were the ones who helped me save my town! I am eternally grateful for what they did.” His eyes wide open, Boru got much closer to the plant, having little respect for her personal space. “W-What did you say!?”
“They were the ones who helped my town. They were looking for something called Zoid Gems, so they took the one that was causing all that trouble there.” She answered, curious about the horned digimon excitement.
This time, Fei joined Boru’s shocking, her eyes wide open too. “THEY FOUND A ZOID GEM!?” They said in unison.
After this, Alraumon told them everything. She told them the full story about how Jazz and Katherine had helped her stop an evil Gotsumon tricking the people of her town to take money from them and discovered he had a hidden Zoid Gem, which he was using to deceive people into believing he had built a machine that could keep them warm during cold days. Both the apprentice and master were moved by the story, but Boru was especially touched by hearing that, although it was some time ago, Katherine and his sister had actually found one of the Zoid Gems, and they were on the cruise to find the other ones.
After exchanging contact information with Alraumon and enjoying all the kinds of games and contests Nuruka Town’s Harvest Festival had to offer, both Fei and Boru left the place, continuing their way towards the Terminus and training as hard as ever, motivated by Alraumon's will. Maybe the fire inside of Rococo Village had motivated them to keep on this cruise until they found what they were looking for.
