[Previously: Old memories, old enemies (Part 1)] Chapter IV: The War of Terminus.
Episode 2 (Part 2): Old memories, old enemies.
Just when Anzu charged against her, the Bellestarmon took a leap backward, trying to give a high-kick to the monster and slip away from her claws. She was very quick, which made her hard to catch. Even though her attacks weren't that harmful, she could manage to throw many in a short period of time which made her not an easy opponent. Meanwhile, Jazz tried to jump to a side, out of the way of Metaletemon's electricity. She wasn't quick enough and the shock got to her, sending her flying back and making her break one of the odd wooden walls with her body, landing in another room, breaking some old furniture. The shattering pieces of glass and wood rested below the pig-girl's body. She stood up, clenching her teeth, her eyes affixed on the metallic monkey. "Agh! You're making me angry!" Jazz started to swing her Roketto Dingpá into the air. Not long after, a whirlwind began forming around her and the whole floor. This wind would throw the monkey behind with great strength, making it impossible for him to get near to Jazz."You think so too, right?" It would be lying saying that Katherine didn't consider this before. The weakness of these creatures even though their high level came as odd for her. Her green eyes met Akemi's for a second. She then took the short girl's hand and pulled from it, running out of the hallway where they were. "That means there must be something creating or controlling those fakes around here." Going back into the huge living room, Katherine spotted a set of stairs and started going up, still guiding Akemi, holding her hand. The combat going on in the floor just below them could make them get separated, and since they were already separated from their digimon , that wouldn't be good. "Please, keep your eyes open, Ama- Akemi!" Maybe the hatted girl would be able to see something odd up on the second floor that Katherine was missing? They had to look for a clue of the whereabouts of whatever was causing this.

The false Empress was not making this very easy, and despite the fact that she wasn't a gargantuan monster this time...She was still plenty slow. However, she did learn a new trick or two since then. The Mephistomon leaned back to avoid the kick, before a flap of her wings began to carry her backwards as she traced a symbol in the air.
"Black Chain!" From that symbol, a thorned, obsidian chain was fired for the BeelStarrmon as it aimed to snag around one of her legs and not only scorch it, but also inflict her with exhaustion. Meanwhile, with Jazz, the MetalEtemon made a provocative 'come at me' gesture by stepping forward with his arms out wide as the ChoHakkaimon stood.
While it was not quite the gesture the metallic primate had expected, the whirlwind...took a bit to take effect, as being made entirely out of metal was HEAVY. Landing with an audible thud (and what sounded like a crack), the MetalEtemon got back up. So if getting up close wasn't an option, his response was simple. He slammed his hands together to fire another burst of lightning. Though, the whirlwind might have something to say about that...
"I mean...Think about it! Neither said anything back there, and the monkey guy looks like the kind of person that loves to hear themselves speak!" Akemi seemed happy she wasn't alone in that consideration, though Katherine taking her hand and making a run for it was a surprise in and of itself!
"Yes, that's what I think. Or this place is an actual haunted house, which would probably be a first." Akemi stated, before she noted that Katherine was still holding her hand. Uhhh...Why did her face feel red for a brief moment? "...I'll do that if you do the same, Kath, o-okay?" The girl responded, raising a hand to adjust her hat slightly as she peered around at their surroundings as they moved up. She was also squeezing Katherine's hand.
Here's hoping that their partners don't bring the place down.

On the lower floors, the battle continued. The chains thrown by Anzu chased Bellestarmon around the stage. One thing was not for debate; this whole house was getting destroyed. While the lady-digimon kept leaping from one table or shelf to another trying to avoid the chain, everything got shattered either by her or the chasing metallic object. While she did this, she kept shooting towards the Mephistomon. This time, her bullets were actually lit on fire, trying to inflict greater damage. It was clear that chain would get her sooner or later, since it was closing in every time more, but Anzu would have to withstand the damage made by those shots first.
The wind spinning around Jazz was deflecting the dark lightning coming her way. The electricity just flew everywhere, destroying furniture, objects, and pieces of floor and roof. The pig-girl knew she didn’t have much time until one of those sparks caught her, so she decided to start moving towards the monkey, trying to dodge the electricity exploding around the whole floor. It was time to close in the distance to go for another hit of that hammer.
After scanning the whole second floor, both Katherine and Akemi would find the stairs to move into the third one. During the whole way, the green-eyed was holding her friend’s hand. It was a good thing she wasn’t stopping to think how flustered that actually made her right now, since that helped her stayed focused on the layout of this new environment. From there, they could still hear the sounds of stuff breaking two floors below them. It was a fierce battle, no doubt.
Just after listening to her peer, Katherine actually began to consider this could be a haunted house’s doing. “W-What did you say?” Even if her curiosity knew no limits, there were two things the Spaniard was utterly afraid of, and those were bugs and ghosts. And if Akemi’s theory was correct, they were in the second case here. “H-H-Haunted?” She squeezed the hatted girl’s hand tighter.
A sound of something falling over the wooden floor made her eyes widen. She caught a glance of something floating around. It was moving quickly across the rooms nearby to the small hall they were in. Katherine immediately grabbed Akemi, hiding her face against her t-shirt and hugging her tightly. “What was that!?” It definitely looked like a ghost. It was moving quickly around the other rooms, and it was unsettling.

It hadn't occurred to Anzu that the BelleStarrmon could attack while evading her spells. Something that proved to be quite troublesome when you were in the midst of an attack. The chain, meanwhile, continued its pursuit, not being stopped by anything that was unfortunate enough to find itself in front of the black chain. Now, the bullets found themselves hitting Anzu, and the Mephistomon, while a master of the flame...was not necessarily immune to it.
In short, that really hurt. Anzu gripped the chain with her own claw, and gave it a wicked crack towards the BelleStarrmon, inflicting more damage upon the area as she did so! "You're MINE!"
The MetalEtemon meanwhile continued his onslaught of lightning as he stepped further and further towards the whirlwind. He seemed convinced that this lightning, this power would beat the Champion's storm. And as Jazz advanced towards him, he decided it was time. The whole frame of the MetalEtemon sparked with electric power as he dashed towards her...Only to take a hammer to the face as he reared back to attempt socking her in the jaw. Unfortunately, that had a high chance of missing since he just got clobbered!
You know, Akemi did like the idea of solving a mystery behind a haunted house. Plus she even got to bring a friend along! Fortunately, that line of thought also distracted her briefly from the thing she noticed earlier--Kath holding her hand. There was chaos going on below, that was something she could be assured of.
Katherine sounded scared, though. Akemi was able to pick up on that quickly. "...I mean, I think it might b-" She was cut off by the sound of something falling, and instinctively tugged Katherine a little closer right when she herself got grabbed. "...I-I don't know what that was. But...D-Don't be scared. I'm here and I'm not gonna leave you alone, o-okay?" She looked up at the floating...thing, briefly, before looking back to Kath.
That looked like a ghost, alright. "...I don't know if its noticed us or not. Kath...you okay?" She was a little more concerned for her friend than the spooky ghost at the moment and that may be a little bit of a problem. On top of that, she seemed to be scared, too. But she was putting that behind her. Or...she was trying to.

That swing of the chain seemed to be what Anzu needed to catch ‘Empress’. The metallic item finally managed to swirl around the Bellestarmon's right leg, pulling her towards the demon. Even if she weren’t squealing or making any sound, it was clear that hurt. As she got closer by the unavoidable dragging, she kept shooting her enemy, trying to inflict more damage. The bat-like lady was floundering, trying to kick her way out of the grip, but it seemed rather useless.
Suddenly, out of pure desperation, a purple glow started to shine around the back of ‘Empress’. After some seconds, she had grown two huge purple wings and was starting to flutter with great strength, trying to fly away from the Mephistomon, attempting to drag her due to the connection that existed between them due to the chain.
A playful grin was drawn in Jazz’s face after smashing the metallic monkey once again with her hammer. The hit seemed to have had an effect, but apparently, the former Koemon had gained a defensive boost after covering his body with that electricity; he could still fight. The hog managed to bend her body back to avoid the jab, however, it was then when the electricity the ape had spread around the environment got to her. She let go a loud squeal out of pure pain.
The pig-girl would manage to land on her feet even after such a devastating technique, and would swing her hammer against the opponent, trying to send him flying again.
These enemies seemed to be pretty resistant, and they didn’t seem to be willing to back down until Akemi and Katherine found whatever had created them.
How were the two friends squaring off? Well… Katherine wouldn’t know. She was hiding at the chest of Akemi, who was some inches smaller than her. What did she say? Katherine’s heart skipped a beat, after listening to the hatted girl say she was staying with her. It was just then when she noticed Akemi's voice had a very soft and calmed tone most of the times; it brought peace to her senses, it made her soul feel a warm sensation. Just that short but touching moment gave Katherine the peace she needed to take her head out of the exclamation sign on her friend's t-shirt and do what she was about to do next.
“Akemi…” Green met brown, as their two gazes found each other for a moment. It was the first time she was so close to Akemi. It was the first time she had said something so nice to her. The light pink color that had appeared around her cheeks started to disappear and her glimmering eyes, lost in Akemi’s brown irises, acquired a determined look.
Not again. She couldn’t be weak anymore. Because Jazz was giving her all down below. Because there were people like Akemi willing to protect her. Because there were enemies like Luke trying to harm her. She had to stop hiding from what made her afraid.
The sound of some other objects falling due to whatever that kept moving around the floor gave the necessary impulse. “We need to catch it.” There was not a single trace of doubt in Katherine’s voice. “It can’t escape if we chase it from different directions. Maybe we can corner it like that.”
If Akemi agreed, they both would take a different exit from the room each, starting to run across the floor, keeping their eyes open until they found whatever that was messing with them.

This was proving to be a more painful endeavor by the second as bullet after bullet made contact with the Mephistomon. This effigy didn't know that the former cult leader was notable for being STUBBORN. To a fault, at that! "EAT THIS." She snarled as she dug her hooves in, yanked the chain back, before she raised a hand to call down her -favorite- trick in the book! "ABYSSAL." In the span of a few seconds, the ceiling was no more.
Why? Because a meteor had slammed right through it, a firey golem soon rising up from where it had landed before it attempted to rush the BelleStarrmon and deliver a haymaker!
The MetalEtemon, meanwhile, despite being hurt, grievously so, continued his assault. He saw the hammer? He attempted to meet it...with his fist. His electric fist. To say what was happen was going to be uncertain was a bit of an understatement. Cracks were beginning to become visible allover the body of the ape.
Despite her own fear? Akemi's words had an effect on Katherine. This was good. This was very good, in fact! Akemi gave her friend a reassuring smile as their eyes made contact. In the span of a few seconds? Akemi saw the fear fade from Katherine's face and give way to the same determined girl she had met back at Paul's empanada store.
Needless to say? It was time to do some ghostbusting. "I was thinking the same thing, and I'm with you." Akemi nodded. There wasn't just no doubt coming from Katherine, but there was also no doubt from Akemi herself. She was perfectly aware of what they were gonna do and how they were gonna do it.
And the girl ran. Ran until she found whatever that entity was.

The new winged Bellestarmon was squaring off better against the yanking coming from her demonic opponent, attempting to drag her close. She still had trouble moving, but thanks to her wings fluttering intensively and dropping feathers as they did, she was managing to gain some distance from Anzu. However, she was definitely not prepared for what was coming. Probably no one was. Coming from the roof, a giant ball of fire threatened to crush her. Even when her movements were slowed down from the chains around her leg, she managed to barely move out of the way of the meteor. Immediately, she started shooting the chains, trying to finally break them. Enough was enough! She needed to get free from those. Regardless of if she managed to break them or not, her endeavor would be interrupted by… a giant fist from a golem smashing her in the face and sending her flying to the eastern side of the room. Whether if she would drag Anzu with her on that little trip or not, would depend on if the chains were previously broken or not. Maybe what Bellestarmon needed to have as an advantage was actually some distance. Even if she probably would have a hard time appreciating that right now since she had just taken a brutal hit. Just when the hammer and the Metaletemon’s fist made contact, the meteor called to the scene by Anzu crashed into the ground, making the whole house tremble. Jazz would take the chance to make the hammer disappear from a clap, and would start actually throwing her best punches against the monkey, one after another. This had turned into a brutal fist fight! “Give-up-already!” The pig girl would yell, while the combat continued.
After some seconds of running, Akemi would lose sight of Katherine, while she kept scanning the floor looking for that ghost. A moving sound coming from a nearby room would raise her attention. If she actually got in it, she would see just another dirty, old, wooden room full of antiques. A shelf had been knocked down and next to it, she would finally see a ghostly creature.
Did Katherine want to find this ghost they were looking for? Well, yes! But at the same time she didn’t know what she was going to do when she found it; politely ask it to stop? That probably wouldn’t work. A cracking sound raised her attention. Was that the ghost? No, it sounded different. It took her just a second to realize what this was: a giant meteor going through the roof and then through the floor into the lower levels crossed the layout, destroying half of the whole structure of that part of the stage. The teenager would take some steps back, trying to protect herself. She would then notice most of the structures in that floor had been destroyed, this allowed her to see everything around the floor, even in the distance, due to the crumbling walls and pillars. She then spotted Akemi. She was far away, probably startled at what had just happened too. In front of the hatted girl, there was a creature. It looked like the ghost of a beast of some kind. It didn’t utter a single world, it was just there, staring at her friend, not really paying attention at what had just happened. It put its paws together, forming a purple-colored energy ball. “Akemi! Are you alright!?” Katherine yelled. The noise of the crumbling walls and floors weren’t making this any easier. “Be careful! There’s something there!” The girl added, pointing at the Bakumon.

The chain had audibly shattered, freeing both Anzu and the false Empress from their duel, but Anzu's attack had come down successfully and to devastating effect on both the house and for Empress proper. The golem let out a wail that honestly sounded like nails on a chalkboard as it pursued the BeelStarrmon.
Anzu, meanwhile, was quick to send forth a little reminder that range did not make you safe. She raised a palm and fired forth a colorful and searing hot blast of energy from her palm at the false empress--and the golem, too. One of them was going to get hit by this. No matter, so long as things ended swifter.
The MetalEtemon on the other hand found himself matched evenly with Jazz now. Seems direct contact was the way to proceed with this engagement. Nonetheless, the cracked up simian began to throw punches of his own towards Jazz, trying to match with the champion level. However...
He was beginning to lose this battle. Evidently. Because as time went on, more and more of Jazz's punches were slipping past his defenses.
Akemi was hoping that Katherine could handle herself if she found the ghost. She did seem kind of scared back there but surely...no, it wasn't a question of if she could. She was incredibly certain that her buddy could stand up to a ghost. She stopped dead in her tracks upon hearing a moving sound, and, staring towards the room that came from...
Chose to approach it slowly, slowly moving into the room to find a...Spiritual Tapir-like...entity. The meteor destroying half of the mansion elicited a sudden, shrill and AUDIBLE yelp from Akemi--what the hell was going on down there? The girl nearly jumped and stumbled and more or less lost her balance from the tremors and all, and fell over.
As Akemi was getting back to her feet, she heard Katherine's voice. Barely distinguishable amongst crumbling walls and floors. "I know!" She called out...Wait, what was the Digimon doing? "...H-Hey, what're you doing?" Shit shit shit that didn't look good!

Shattered pieces of wood flew everywhere once Empress hit the wall. She slowly started standing up, only to see the golem charging against her at high speed. She immediately jumped, avoiding the beast’s fist that only crushed more of the rotten wood. Putting her feet over the aberration created by Anzu, she then started shooting the Mephistomon with repeated rounds of bullets. This time they were bigger than ever before, engulfed by a purple-colored energy and going straight against the demon. Upon seeing the blast of fire coming at her, and feeling the golem trying to shake her off, Empress took a leap again, this time using her wings to fly in the air and hopefully avoid being hit by the blazing heat. She made her guns disappear and put her palms to the front, releasing a beam of dark energy towards the monster. Meanwhile, the battle between pig-girl and monkey continued, both of them exchanging blows at full power. Even if Jazz knew her hits were damaging the MetalEtemon, she was also starting to feel pretty exhausted from all of this. Hopefully, both Kath and Akemi could find the source of this and end this madness soon enough.
… She was gone. “Akemi!” Katherine squealed, completely terrified. The ball of energy the ghostly creature was charging had started growing more and more until it became as big as the room, engulfing both the beast and Akemi. Then, it had immediately shrunk into nothingness, leaving the room completely empty. Her green eyes were going everywhere, looking for a lead of the hatted girl. Where was she? How was this possible? The panic had started taking over Katherine’s body.
Akemi would suddenly find herself in a completely integral room. It didn’t look at all like that space she was previously at, completely destroyed by the meteor or the battle happening below them. This room seemed completely untouched. There was a soft light coming through the drapes, a single desk, and some other menial items around. It was a very peaceful environment. Over a bed, there was a small digimon staring at her. He was of a light pink color, a round shape, and thin ears. “I think we can speak more peacefully in a place like this.” The creature raised her gaze, looking at the human right into her eyes. “Tell me, why have you come here?” He asked. He had a soft, child-like voice.

The false Empress found that Anzu had been keeping something prepared for that salvo of bullets, because the Mephistomon dissipated into a big cloud of black smoke that promptly phased through the bullets...With a screech. For even if they were technically the same level, those bullets were the attack of a Mega. So, it'd still hurt the Miasma'd up Mephistomon. And you know what? Those bullets...they hurt.
They hurt like a bitch. The cloud quickly reformed into Mephistomon, who was flying towards Empress with the intent to strike her with her claws while the golem tanked that beam like a champ (and suffered a hole in it, that might not be good) before he tried jumping up, and, to put things very simply, attempted to do a 'slam dunk' of sorts to Empress on his way down. The golem, being a golem and therefore dumb as a rock, did not care for Anzu's well being.
Meanwhile, with the MetalEtemon...He was very obviously beginning to wear himself thin, the cracks on his form increasing more and more over the course of the slugfest. It was only a matter of time until this battle would see its end...It's brittle, brittle end.
Akemi saw the room around her become completely unlike that of the mansion. She was really unaware that she had disappeared, only...moved. Somehow. The spirit did this. That much she knew.
...This was calming. Like a peaceful morning--or afternoon. Akemi's gaze turned towards the bed---where a Tokomon lay. "Yes, I suppose we can. My friend and I came here after our partners had seen the door half...open and the place itself seemingly abandoned. We thought maybe something had happened and had to follow them in to make sure they...didn't wreck the place." A pause. "...What about you? Who are you? What is this place?"

The bout taking place on the lower floors continued. Even if their power level was more or less equalized, the stamina of fake Empress and Metal Etemon seemed endless. The damages were visible on their bodies, but they didn’t seem to back down even a little bit. It was like they never got tired, like they weren’t even living creatures. Whatever was the case, the bottom line was both Anzu and Jazz could be starting to feel the length of the combat taking a toll on their bodies, so hopefully, Akemi and Kath could stop this madness soon enough.
“This is a very nice place, isn’t it?” A sigh escaped the Tokomon, who took a leap down the bed and walked towards the window, looking at the glimmering light going through the drapes. “It is so peaceful!” He just let himself fall backward into the floor, relaxing. Meanwhile, he listened to Akemi’s explanation. His ears perked up at the last part, to then let a chuckle go. “You were trying to make sure they didn’t wreck the place?” He asked, standing up.
Suddenly, a small circle opened up right at his side, showing part of the room where Akemi and the Tapirmon were at just some seconds ago. It was… definitely wrecked. Especially due to Anzu’s meteorite. “Well, how do you call this?” He asked, looking at the devastated layout the small portal allowed to see. Then, the circle just closed itself. “Don’t get me wrong. I really don’t mind you destroying that place.” He let go another short giggle. “It has been fun.” He took some steps towards the human girl. “Regarding who I am… I’m not sure I can remember my name.” He looked around to their surroundings. “You’re at my old bedroom. This is where I used to live. It’s the same room you were at before, just many years in the past. These are my memories, I'm showing them to you.” He explained. “I really like these, and I’ve done everything to not forget them.”
“What’s your name?” The Tokomon asked, blinking. “Do you have good memories? You should tell me one.” He suggested, giving a warm smile to the teenager. "The last memory I heard coming from you was kind of chaotic. It made me create that thing. Now, I would rather listen to a happy memory."
Katherine had started moving through the absolutely wasted upper floor, trying to get to the room where Akemi was previously at, looking for her. It was hard to reach that space, considering the whole house was crumbling apart. She had to still be around, somewhere. Again, panic was taking over her.

"Oh, yeah. I...I'd have to agree." It...really was a pretty place. Idyllic, if that was an appropriate term to use. Akemi seemed to sink a little at the sight of her partner and Jazz...just flat out destroying the place. "I'd call it an accident. I'm sorry that neither of us could prevent that--but in our defense? We were attacked and...they just wanted to defend us." The girl explained.
So, he couldn't...remember who he was. Huh. "They're pretty memories. Thank you for showing me them." Akemi felt calm despite...the notion that things outside of here might be a bit more chaotic than shown. "So...this mansion was yours in the past? That's kind of interesting. Anyways, my name's Akemi. Amaya Akemi--just call me Kemi if you want."
So the Tokomon wanted a happy memory...That was easy to provide.
"Well...Before this happened, I was hanging out with a good friend of mine at a place we were meant to meet some other friends at. That became a walk that escalated to what's happening right now. And...quite honestly? This was one of if not...the most calm times I've had in this world. Just experiencing it with a dear friend of mine."
Akemi smiled. "Is that happy enough?"

It was hard and even a little dangerous, but Katherine finally reached the room. At least she believed this was the one where she had seen Akemi from afar. However, her friend was nowhere to be seen. Panic. A lot of panic. That was the only way of describing what Katherine was feeling at the moment.
“Akemi...” She muttered, desperately, checking every wall, every part of the room that wasn’t destroyed. Where was she? How could she disappear just like that? Desperate, Katherine took her digivice out. “Please… show me where Akemi is… please!” She asked, holding the gadget with both hands. This artifact had shown her the location of digimon and other digivices before right? So maybe…
A dot start flickering softly on the screen of the device. If this thing worked as a radar, as it had proven to do before, it meant Akemi was right there! But… where?
At first, it was hard, due to the sound of the structures crumbling around her, but… she heard a soft, feminine voice. It was faint and it seemed like it came from far away, or like if she was close to her but just speaking very quietly. But there was no doubt, it was Akemi’s voice! She was having a conversation with someone else? Katherine just remained quiet, trying to listen to what she was saying. Maybe that could help her know where she was.
While he listened to Akemi’s words, Tokomon slowly sat on the floor. “Defending you…” He muttered, following her words. “So those are your partners, right? That digimon is fighting to protect you…” He seemed rather reflexive about this matter, like he didn’t understand it all too well. “I’m sorry if all of that scared you. I just used the memories you gave me to recreate something. They weren’t supposed to be aggressive. I’m… still not very good at this.” He added, lowering his gaze, looking a bit apologetic, even.
“Haha!” A genuine giggle escaped Tokomon. “That sounds like a fun time, just hanging out with your friends." A smile had appeared on his face again. “Friends! Friends! Friends! Friends!” He started laughing while he hopped around Akemi. That memory had genuinely made him happy. “Tell me more about this friend. How did you meet her? What does she represent to you?” He wanted to know a little more. After all, he had never had any friends.
The small digimon stopped his hopping. It was probably fair to tell Akemi a little more about himself. “I used to live inside of this mansion with my parents. We had some great times here.” The Tokomon explained, looking at their surroundings a bit more. “That was many years ago, I can’t even remember how long. All I know is that they died… due to some sickness that got both of them. They kept me locked inside this room to make sure I didn’t get sick too, because they didn’t know if it was contagious.” His expression had turned sad again. “In the end, they just died, leaving me here. I managed to get out, but I just didn’t want to leave this house, ever. They left a lot of money and food for me, so I occasionally go outside to buy some stuff, and then come back here. I don't really like being around the city by myself. Apparently, my parents were very rich, so money has never been an issue.”
The creature then made a short pause, trying to funnel his thoughts back into the present. “With time, I evolved into a Bakumon, which makes me able to recreate and transform in reality memories that are inside my head. Or even inside other’s people head, just like I did with you. That's how I created those enemies.” He let go a sigh. “Sadly, my memory is not very good, so I forgot how my parents looked. The only memories I’ve got left are the ones regarding this room. Sometimes, I use other people’s memories I hear when I walk around town, and recreate them here and play with them. But I end up forgetting those too after a while.”

"Mmhmm. The Mephistomon is mine--Anzu's her name. She's a good person even if she says she's not. Even despite her...uh. Problems? I think problems is the best descriptor." Akemi explained, taking a seat on the floor, across from Tokomon and folding her hands across her lap. "Oh, um...It's fine. I can't imagine you...wanted them to be aggressive, but practice does make perfect."
She smiled. "It was fun, actually! This friend--Her name's Katherine, but she's okay with being called Kath, I met her at a restaurant in the park at Shibuya. My partner had wanted to try some empanadas there and it turns out Kath and her own partner had a similar idea. So, we became friends off of that and what had occurred soon after--We found out the owner of that place was a Veedramon in disguise. I know I haven't really...known her too long, but...I think she's great. She's brave, she's determined...I think she's got a heart of gold."
That was what she felt she could...put into words. Really, she thought Kath was a lot of things. A good friend as far as she could tell, and someone who's all around fantastic to be around. The girl adjusted her hat as she listened to the Tokomon--no, Bakumon's story. "...Are you afraid of being alone? Of going out there alone? If you're so afraid of...losing those memories, why not go out there and make new ones? I'm...sorry if that sounds rude."

It felt nice for Tokomon to see how Akemi took everything he had done so well. She was absolutely right, he never wanted those things to cause them trouble, he was just practicing his skills, using what he had heard from the teenagers to recreate enemies.
Leaving the first topic behind, he just remained sitting on the ground, while he heard every word Akemi had to say about this Katherine. Wow, that was really a friend. Slowly, a smile started making its way to his face, not only because of the fun anecdote, but especially because how the two digimon and their tamers seemed to get along. “S-Shi…buya?” Was the only thing the small digimon asked, once she finished the whole tale. “Is that a place in your world? Going there sounds fun! Besides, you seem to really get along well with this Katherine!” He took two huge leaps at the same spot, out of pure excitement. Right after this, he stopped bouncing, and a sad expression appeared on his face again. “I wish… I had something like that.”
Raising his eyes, the baby just stared at the human for a second, once she finished her last question. “No. That’s… okay. It doesn’t sound rude.” He shook his head/body, slowly. “I think you’re right. I’m afraid of going out there and actually meeting people. What if they die? Just like my parents did. What if I end up all alone again? No! I prefer playing with all of these memories! They won’t leave me alone.” A brief silence ensued this words as his eyes escaped from Akemi’s, holding a worried expression. “Even though I have trouble remembering them…”
“… But I’m fine, really!” Awkwardly, the Tokomon tried to muster a smile. Giving up on this, he let go another sigh.
It was clear he wasn’t ‘fine’.
