The bird siblings had to admit... Kaito rejecting to live with them, while reasonable, still stung a bit for the two of them. Of course, they still had the dorm system in place for them back in Rosewood, so it wasn't like they were going to be sleeping on the street or anything. But they got lonely, even if they still had each other. They missed having a parental figure in their lives, and it was a bit upsetting to see the one that they would soon consider as a father wouldn't be able to live with them.
And that's when Takashi spoke up, saying that he would be able to move into Rosewood in Kaito's place. He even claimed that it would only take a week to fully move in, as well.
"Would you really?!" Ruri asked as her eyes began sparkling. In the few hours she had spent here, she grew to really like Takashi and was ecstatic at the prospect of him living with her and Kohaku. Kohaku felt the same way, of course, but his physical reaction was more subdued than his sister's. Kaito asked if this proposition would be acceptable for the two of them.
"Of course it would be," Kohaku said with a smile, which faded relatively quickly. "But I just realized, we technically don't really have a house in Rosewood. We live in the school's dorms."
"Maybe Takashi can buy a house in Rosewood for us!" Ruri proposed. "We could have our own house again, like our old one from Whitewater. That would be so great!"
"Yeah... yeah, it really would."
It felt surreal for the Falcomon for all of this to be happening. When Ouwa died, he really thought it would just be him and Ruri against the unstoppable force that was their father. But now here these two ninja brothers were, willing to not only train Kohaku to one day be one of the best ninjas, but also take them in as their own family, as Kaito's own kids, even. He couldn't quite put it into words just how grateful he felt at their generosity. And at the same time... he couldn't help but feel like he'd be condemning the brothers and their clan to death by Osamu's pirate gang.
However, like Ruri, Kohaku had started growing fond of these two brothers, his and Ruri's soon-to-be father and uncle. And they were willing to risk everything to protect the two of them at all costs, not needing to be asked to do so or expecting anything in return. Because of that, Kohaku really felt like he could trust them. And so, after debating about it internally for a bit, he finally came to a conclusion.
"Let's do it. I guess you're stuck with us now... Uncle Takashi."
