Waking Up in a New Home (Open)

Revan and BlackGabumon are in the living room. Revan is in his boxers playing videogames. BlackGabumon walks up and puts a sleeping bag on the couch. "There, I got you the sleeping bag." Revan just ignores BlackGabumon. "You know, for a leader you sure are not a very good tamer to your Digimon!" Revan stops playing and looks at BlackGabumon. "There's a lot of things that have been going wrong. Things that are not even my fault. And everyone else is running around making all kinds of mistakes that could cost us everything!" "You are expecting too much out of everybody." "It's not my fault. I'm not the one everybody should be mad at." "What about Judith? Was it Sakiko's fault you are a player?" Revan gets up and stares down at BlackGabumon.

"Don't you ever talk to me like that, or bring that up again! Worthless little mut! All I'm trying to do is keep the team together!" "You don't act like it." "My band of tamers is falling apart. I don't even want the data core any more. I just want us to stick together." "Well maybe people are tired of you bossing them around all the time!" "You think I'm being bossy? I'm the leader. It's all of you that keep slacking, and making stupid mistakes." Revan climbs into the sleeping bag and tries to fall asleep. BlackGabumon climbs onto the coffee table and lays down on a blanket.

Dante has a very strange dream that night. He is walking through a scorching hot desert. The sand is blowing in the wind. Dante walks for miles, almost exhausted. He finally collapses to the ground, slowly crawling forward. Just when all hope is lost, he sees a green oasis. Dante struggles to his feet and limps to the oasis. There, he sees a small lake surrounded by trees and birds and rocks. In the middle of the lake stands a blonde girl. Dante approaches the lake. The girl floats across the water over to Dante. As he gets a better view, he sees that she looks like Judith. She is wearing long white robes, her hair is carefully styled and braided, and she has several gold bracelets on her arms and legs.

"Welcome, Dante." "Are you, Judith?" She shakes her head. "No, I am an ancient spirit left to guard this oasis for all eternity. I take care of lost tamers stumbling through the desert." Dante is shocked to hear all of this. The spirit fills her hands with water and holds it up to Dane's mouth for a drink. "I don't understand, how am I here?" "I brought you here so that I may deliver a message. Dark forces are approaching, Dante. I need you to return here one day." "But, where are we?" "In the digital world. Seek out this oasis, and I will tell you everything you need to know. Your friends' lives hang in the balance." Dante falls over due to exhaustion. "I will take care of your injuries and return you to your world. Rest, Dante."

Dante and his friends are on their way to the facility. Meanwhile, Wizardmon meets with Takashi's team in the woods. "Okay, team. We've got something big going down today." "Why are we back in this stupid forest yet again?" "Well I got kicked out of the arcade." Takashi sees his jacket in the bushes. "Oh, that's where I left my jacket." Sal groans in disgust. "Time for business. Wizardmon has something important to discuss." "That's right. You see, I'm part of a resistance movement that is defecting from the Dark One. I have been plotting against him the whole time. The Dark One is trying to get his hands on the data core. You are familiar with Revan and his band of tamers. Well today they are going to break in and steal the data core. I need you to defeat them, and recover the data core so it cannot fall into the, wrong hands."

Takashi walks over and grabs his jacket. "Sorry, I wasn't paying attention." The biggest tamer walks over to Takashi and picks him up by his leg with one hand. "Ah, hey! What do you think you are doing you shaved gorilla?!" "This is important, pay attention!" He puts Takashi down. "Don't worry, Wizardmon. We will stop them." Takashi gets up and dusts himself off. "Ya, well not if the kitty maid is going to fail again." Sal's face turns red and she stares at Takashi like she wants to beat the snot out of him. "I am confident that you will be able to defeat them. Come with me, and we will wait for the right time to strike." Sal cracks her knuckles. (Thinking) "I can't wait to punch that smug mouth right off Dante's face. His stupid, handsome face. Oh god how I hate him!"

Dante and company have arrived at a parking lot close to the facility. They get out and go over the battle plan one more time. "Our time has arrived. Dante, you come with me. We will ride BlackGarurumon through the main entrance. Angemon, you carry Wormmon and Betamon and fly above. Judith, Sakiko, Angel, you sneak around the side and wait out of sight. Cassius, you sneak past security and unlock the door on the far side to let the girls in. Ready? On three. 1, 2, 3!" Everybody: "Defectors!" BlackGabumon and Patamon digivolve to BlackGarurumon and Angemon. Revan and Dante climb on BGmon and head towards the main gates. Angemon picks up Wormmon and Patamon, and flies above the facility. Cassius follows BGmon and hides outside the main entrance. The girls start sneaking over to the right side of the facility. BGmon lets out a ferocious howling blaster right at the front entrance, blowing up part of the front room. "Get out of my way or curse your fate!"

The Defectors and their Digimon are looking up at the screen. Revan steps forward and raises his fist in anger. "You listen up, Shirou! I will not tolerate this insubordination out of you!" Shirou laughs. "Oh Revan, that's what we do best. The Dark One defected, we defected from the Dark One, and now I defected from all of you." The lights start flickering. Machine gun turrets appear from the walls. "You see, Revan, normally it would be my hand against yours, but as you can see, I am holding the entire deck." "Spare me your metaphors you greasy nerd! I should've taken you down when I had the chance." "Now now, Cassius. Let's not do anything hasty. As you can see, I am in charge here. It would be complete suicide to face me directly."

Sakiko grabs her chest in pain. "Guys, I'm feeling something. There's a powerful Digimon coming this way!" A large purple cloud of smoke appears on the other side of the room. Wizardmon appears with Takashi and his team. "Oh damn it, what are you morons doing here? Don't we have enough on our plate right now?" Bo steps forward. "We are here to stop you from stealing that data core." Shirou takes a moment to think. "Hmm, interesting. Very interesting indeed. Both sides want the data core, as do I. And even your combined forces would be no match for my defense systems. I propose... a tournament."

The tamers looked shocked. "A tournament? What are you talking about?" "Oh come now, Cassius. I don't remember you being this thick headed. It's simple really. Four tamers from each side face off in a tournament bracket. You win, you continue. You lose, you are out. The winner has the privilege of facing me for the data core. Surely, even Takashi can understand that." "Hey! Just because I'm a kid doesn't mean I'm stupid!" Revan and Cassius look at each other. They take a few steps away and whisper. "Ya, okay Shirou. We agree to your terms." "But after I deal with these punks, I will make you humble, Shirou." "Wa ha ha ha ha! Then let the Data Core Tournament begin! No matter who wins, I win."

TJ becomes Blitzmon. He is covered in dark blue armor, with a massive horn on his forehead. Lighting emits from his body. Revan and the others are shocked to witness such raw power. Cassius is a bit shaken. "No, no matter. We've got this, Seadramon." Seadramon lowers his head down to Cassius. "I don't know about this one, partner. He's a lot more powerful than we expected any of them to be." Cassius tightens his fists. "Well I'm not going to let the team down and lose in the first round. Squish that bug, and save some strength for the next fight." Seadramon and Blitzmon step forward.

The lights start flickering again. Shirou turns the floor into a lake of water, with several floating platforms. "The arena for this battle will be water. Let the first round begin!" Seadramon dives into the lake. "Alright, we've got the advantage! Sneak up and take him down!" Seadramon swims underneath the platform Blitzmon is standing on, comes up out of the water and headbutts Blitzmon, almost knocking him off the platform. Blitzmon jumps over to another platform. Seadramon charges towards Blitzmon but he dodges again. "We've got this one, all he can do is run away!" Seadramon swats Blitzmon with his mighty tail, knocking him into the water. Blitzmon grabs the edge of the platform and pulls himself up. "Time to kick it up a knotch. Thunder Fist!" Blitzmon fires a powerful thunder blast from his fist, hitting Seadramon for moderate damage. "Cassius! The water is only making his attacks more powerful." Cassius looks nervous. The last thing he wants is to lose in the first round.

The Defectors watch from the dugout. Judith holds Wormmon tightly, worried about Cassius and Seadramon. "Do you think he's going to win?" Revan sighs and looks down. "I never would have thought they had a Spirit Wielder. And with all that water, Blitzmon's thunder is going to be too powerful to overcome. This battle was over before it started." Dante gets upset. "Don't say that! How can you give up hope so fast? You are the one who said Cassius was powerful." Revan takes offense to Dante questioning him. "I'm not being negative, I'm being realistic. Watch your tongue, Rookie." Seadramon dives deep underwater. They swim as fast as they can, jumps out of the water and tries to land right on Blitzmon. Blitzmon hits Seadramon with a hard right hook, knocking the sea monster back into the water. "Hmm. This is too easy, even for the first round." Cassius is stressed out. He puts his hands on his head in frustration and breathes deeply. (Thinking) "Great. I can't let the team down like this. We can't count on a victory from Angel or Dante. That would mean Revan is the only one advancing. Come on, Seadramon, you can find a way."

Takashi's team tries to decide who fights next. "Let me fight. Revan may be powerful, but he doesn't look difficult to outsmart." "No, I'm fighting next. I'll put them in their place. Angel and Dante are of no concern." Takashi steps between Bo and Sal. "No! I'm the leader, and I say I'm gonna fight Revan. That's the way it should be." TJ just leans against the wall in the corner of the dugout not talking. "Fine, go get out there, Takashi. But you better not lose." Takashi smacks Sal on her butt and exits the dugout. Sal is steaming mad. "If Revan doesn't smash your face in, I will, you little perv!" Agumon digivolves to Greymon.

Revan and Takashi stand across from each other with their Digimon by their side. "Let's see, how about we go with a rocky wasteland environment?" Shirou turns the floor into a wasteland with several large rocks. "Are both leaders ready?" "Ya! You are going down, Revan!" "Ready, try not to cry, Takashi." "Then let the 2nd battle begin!" Greymon charges at BlackGarurumon (BGmon) trying to headbutt the ebony furred wolf, but BGmon is too fast, and dodges. "Come one Greymon! Get that doggie!" Revan just smirks at Takashi. "Really? You are trying to use close range attacks? BlackGarurumon is one of the fastest Champion level Digimon there is, unlike your fat dinosaur." Greymon takes offense to Revan's comment. "Hey! I'm not fat. I'm all muscle."

Dante and the others watch the fight. "I'm going to talk strategy with Angemon." "Good idea, let's come up with a game plan, Wormmon." Angel lets go of Dante's hand. Angemon devolves to Patamon. Angel and Patamon go over strategy in the dugout. Dante takes Wormmon over to the corner of the dugout. "Alright, little buddy. We need to go over our battle plan." "What's there to talk about? All we gotta do is beat the snot out of them." Dante glances at Cassius, and back at Wormmon. "That attitude didn't work too well last time."

Things are not looking good for the Defectors. Cassius lost the first fight to TJ, and now Takashi has the upper hand against Revan. If Dante and his friends are going to recover the data core, they are going to have to really turn things around. Sal and Bo watch the fight. "Wow, Takashi is actually holding his own." "He may be just a dumb kid, but Greymon is very powerful indeed. Maybe it's not such a bad thing he's our leader. After all, who would you rather have in charge?" Sal looks over at TJ. He's still leaning against the wall in the corner, with his eyes closed. "There's no doubt TJ is very strong, but he doesn't have the kind of personality to lead." "Indeed. That's why he's the strong and silent type. The look on their faces when he digivolved was priceless." Bo makes a surprised face mocking the tamers. "Oh no! He's a spirit wielder. We can only beat joke tamers." Sal cracks a small chuckle.

Bo looks at Sal. "You know, that's the first time I've ever seen you happy." Sal is offended Bo thinks she's always grumpy. "Well maybe if I wasn't stuck with you boys all the time I'd be a lot happier." "Oh, and what would you rather be doing? You're not much of the girly girl type." Sal thinks for a moment what she would rather do instead of teaming up with Takashi's team. "I guess I'd be doing something where I get to beat up other girls." "So even if you had your way, you'd still be unhappy. Your entire motivation is to inflict pain and suffering on others." Sal is hurt by Bo's words. Maybe he was right. She was a lot tougher than other young women, and didn't really have any hobbies, or skills. The only real light in her life is Biyomon, and Sal had not been the best tamer towards her partner in recent weeks. "You've given me a lot to think about, Bo. You're a lot smarter than you look." Bo cracks a small grin. "Don't you start coming on to me now. I only spoke out of concern." Sal is raging mad Bo just said that. She storms off and sits in the dugout alone.

Wizardmon was in Takashi's team's dugout, but had not said very much since the battling started. He walks over to TJ. "So, what's a spirit wielder doing hanging out with a bunch of young tamers? Surely you have your own story to tell." TJ opens one eye slightly. "My story is my own. What's it to you?" "I guess I'm just curious. You carry a powerful aura around you. Just the sight of you brings sorrow, like your very soul is full of pain." TJ opens his eyes and stops leaning against the wall. "Honesty is overrated. But I will tell you why I am here. I like being around the other tamers. They make me laugh. And they need me. That's why I am here." "Well what's here is neither here, nor there. But were you where when you were there, before here, there's what I want to know right here and now." TJ is confused by Wizardmon's words. "Whatever. You'll get your answers soon enough, traitor." "Very well, but I could say the same thing to you. Thank you for your time." Wizardmon walks away from TJ.

Greymon fires another nova blast at BGmon, but they dodge the blast. BGmon runs along the perimeter of the battle field. Greymon runs after, but cannot keep up. Takashi starts to worry. BGmon is too fast, Greymon can't hit any melee attacks unless BGmon comes close, and they keep dodging Greymon's attacks. Greymon climbs up on a really big rock, looking down at BGmon. They fire another blast, missing and leaving a crater in the ground. BGmon charges towards Greymon, running at a curve so as to not line up for a direct attack. BGmon jumps up and hits Greymon with a chilling ice claw, Knocking Greymon off the rock and falling hard to the ground. Takashi's team starts to worry, the tides have turned. Revan watches with a wicked glare. "Let's finish this."

Angel and Patamon stand across from Sal and Biyomon. Patamon digivolves to Angemon and Biyomon digivolves to Birdramon. "Time for the 3rd battle, Angel vs Sal. The two girls in the tournament face off in a bitter rivalry. Seeing as how both Digimon are capable of flight why don't we take to the skies?" Shirou changes the arena to skyscrapers. "Battle on the rooftops. To fall is certain death. Let the battle begin!" Birdramon and Angemon fly above the rooftops. Birdramon charges towards Angemon, but they duck down and dodge the attack. Birdramon turns around and unleashes a fiery meteor wing right at Angemon. It hits point blank sending Angemon crashing down into one of the skyscrapers.

Both teams watch the battle wage on. Judith sits down on the bench, and Sakiko sits down next to her, holding Wormmon. "Do you think she stands a chance? I heard she won before." Wormmon looks up at Judith. "Sal and Birdramon were winning, but Dante stepped onto the ledge and threatened to jump. He went off the rooftop, but then Angemon came flying up, carrying Dante and catching Birdramon off guard. But in a fair fight, Birdramon would have won." Sakiko is puzzled by Angemon. They were supposed to be a very powerful Champion level Digimon. Why wasn't Angel's Digimon as strong as other Angemon? "She just has to defeat them again. With Revan gone, our chances look very slim. Even if you win the next fight, Wormmon." "Don't worry! I'm not gonna lose in the first round. Oh, no offense there, Betamon."

Dante watches the fight. He has gotten to know both women a lot better in the past few days. He felt bad Sal viciously attacked Angel because of her jealousy. He felt guilty for getting Angel involved in all this drama. Cassius walks up next to Dante. "You care for her, don't you?" Dante starts getting embarrassed. "You mean Angel? We're just friends." Dante did have a crush on Angel, but didn't want anyone to know. "I meant Sal. I've seen the way you look at her." "Sal? Are you kidding?! She's insane." "Whatever, Dante. Something tells me you have feelings for her. After all, she's a very beautiful girl." "Okay, Cassius. I admit it, but it's not who you think. I do have feelings for Angel." "No, you don't. You may lust for Angel, but you do not love her. You only like her because you are a big, big sucker for goth chicks. But you don't care who she really is. However, you do care about Sal." Dante gets upset with Cassius. "You're crazy, man! Where is all this coming from?" "Fine, if you really like Angel, tell her how you feel." Cassius walks away and lays down on the bench.

Revan sits against the wall, a few feet away from the edge of the arena. BlackGabumon looks at his tamer. "Revan, why did you abandon the others?" "They abandoned me first. I don't have time to babysit everybody. And now that HQ is destroyed, there's no reason to stay. We will get the data core, and go to the Digital World." BlackGabumon looks down in disappointment. They don't want to be separated from the group. They like hanging out with the other Digimon, and miss Sakiko's cooking. "Please, just swallow your pride and apologize. I know there's part of you that wants to be with the others. Well listen to that part and go back." Revan stands up and stares down over the edge. "What's done is done. I know things may seem their darkest now, BlackGabumon, but soon we will be calling the shots. And we won't have a bunch of disobedient runts getting in the way."
