The Defectors gather around Dante to celebrate his victory. Judith gives him a big hug. "You really did it, brother! You've overcome everything put in your way." Cassius looks more concerned than the others. "Yes, you defeated a powerful foe, Dante. But the hardest part comes next. Who knows what Shirou is planning? And knowing him, he's been watching every fight, studying the strengths and weaknesses of every Digimon." Dante smirks confidently. "Come on, he might be a nerd, but nobody is that observant. He couldn't see a fist if it punched him in the face." "Trust me, Shirou has always been two steps ahead of everyone. From the time he was very young, he's always been scheming and planning. Tread carefully, Dante. Shirou is going to test your abilities." Sakiko grabs Dante by the arm and pulls him aside. Wormmon jumps out of Dante's arms and crawls up Judith's leg, sitting on her head.
Sakiko talks to Dante in the corner of the dugout. "I didn't think you had it in you, but you defeated Revan, even with your limited experience. I'm so sorry, Dante. I'm sorry for dragging you into this. You've had to learn twice as fast as most tamers. Trust me, there's more to Digimon than battling. Don't get the wrong idea about tamers." Dante puts his hand on Sakiko's shoulder. "You don't have to apologize. If it wasn't for you, I never would have met all these wacky friends, and I never would have become Wormmon's tamer. Yes, it has been difficult. I never would have thought I would be winning this tournament. My money would of been on Revan, Cassius, or TJ. I don't know what Shirou is going to do, but people have been underestimating me this whole time. Trust me, Sakiko, I will do everything I can to get the data core. Then we can finally bring your Digimon partner back. I can't believe I have never met them." Sakiko smiles, then frowns and looks down. "You might not like them. My partner might be the most evil out of all our Digimon." Dante gives Sakiko a big hug. So much has happened since Dante and Judith moved to Japan. Sakiko takes off a necklace and puts in around Dante's neck. "This is a rare stone from the Digital World. Legend has it that it will bring good fortune to the wearer. Although it hasn't seemed to work out for me. Maybe it will help you against Shirou."
Dante examines the necklace. At the end is a small violet gem. "Thank you, the color is beautiful. I'll deal with Shirou." Dante makes his way towards the doorway of the dugout. Judith walks up and takes Wormmon off her head, and hands them to Dante. "Show them why nobody messes with our family and gets away with it. Make Dad proud." Dante feels uncomfortable thinking about their father. What would he think if he knew Dante was a Digimon tamer? Now was the time to prove to himself that he could live up to the expectations Dante has carried with him all his life. "I won't let you down, sis." Dante gives Judith a hug and walks out of the dugout. "We are ready, Shirou. Give it your best shot. Throw whatever you got at us, in the end it doesn't matter." Shirou sounds a loud siren, signaling the final battle. "Ladies and gentlemen, for better or worse, Dante has emerged victorious, and has the opportunity to obtain the data core. However, none of you will be able to witness his tragic defeat." Shirou activates the facility's computer system. Both teams are downloaded into suspended animation inside the hard drive. "What did he do to them, Dante?!" "Send them back right now!" "Ha ha ha! No need to worry, Dante, you're next!" Shirou downloads Dante and Wormmon's data.
Dante and Wormmon enter inside the computer program. They appear to be in a vast space, surrounded by large data chips as platforms. Shirou's face appears in the black sky. "Here we are, the area where our battle will take place." "This is bogus! How am I gonna have a fair fight when you can control the reality around us?!" "Do not worry. If I was going to cheat to kill you, I would have ended all of your miserable lives a long time ago. I am a man of honor. Simply defeat my latest pet project, and you win the battle." Shirou appears with Keramon on a platform far away. Keramon digivolves to Chrysalimon, with several electrical wires connecting to surrounding machinery. One of the wires attaches to the back of Shirou's neck. "My DNA is hard wired into the circuitry. Defeating me is nearly impossible." Shirou deploys a shield around Chrysalimon's machine form. "Argh, this is insane! Wormmon, let's show this creep what it means to have heart and soul." "I've been waiting too long to kick your skinny ass, Shirou. Bring it!"

Wormmon forms a cocoon out of thread, and digivolves to Stingmon. "Alright, Dante. I don't care what Shirou is gonna throw at us. I will show this dweeb who the boss is!" Stingmon charges up their energy and transfers it to their energy spikes. Stingmon flies into the air. Dante waves his hand in front of his face. It leaves a trail of tiny pieces of data. Wherever they are, this reality is not like the Human World, or the Digital World. Just how powerful has Shirou become? To be able to manipulate the facility in the Human World, and create his own virtual world? Dante licks his lips and takes up a fighting stance. "Bring the pain, Stingmon!"
Shirou begins manipulating his form, creating more machine parts from his terrifying hybrid form. "Yes, this power. I can feel it flowing through my veins. You cannot begin to imagine my power." Shirou creates 4 machine type Digimon on nearby platforms. They appear slender and agile. "Meet the Macamon, my own cyborg hit squad. Stingmon may be fast, but will never outclass the Macamon force." The Macamon take to the sky and surround Stingmon. They swarm from all angles, closing in on Stingmon. One goes for a melee attack, but Stingmon blocks with their left energy spike. While guarding against one attack, another Macamon closes in from behind and strikes Stingmon with a fast chop. Stingmon flies up, and starts flying around in a circular pattern, trying to create distance. The Macamon fly after Stingmon. Stingmon fires two moon cannons down towards the Macamon, hitting one of them and knocking them out of the air. Stingmon swoops down at a tight arch, turning a sharp angle at breakneck speed. No aircraft ever made could possibly execute this turn. Stingmon soars towards one of the Macamon and stabs them with a spiking strike, piercing them right through their torso. Sparks emit from Macamon. Stingmon grabs them by the head and pulls the spike out.
One of the Macamon flies towards Stingmon and fires a plasma cannon. Stingmon blocks the blast with the body of Macamon, then throws them into the other Macamon, knocking them out of the air. Two Macamon are now down. The Macamon that was hit by the Moon Cannon flies up close to Stingmon. The other remaining Macamon approaches Stingmon from behind and grabs onto them. Stingmon struggles trying to break free. "Hey! Let me go you stupid tin can!" Macamon activates a self destruct program. Realizing Macamon is about to explode, they fly downwards very fast, trying to shake them loose. Stingmon flies towards Shirou. The Macamon explodes in front of Shirou's energy shield. One Macamon remains. Stingmon takes massive damage from the explosion, and falls down to a platform below. "It's no use. My force field is invincible. In this reality, it will absorb all incoming energy, only charging it up more." Dante is worried about Stingmon. "Argh, get up Stingmon! Please!" Stingmon struggles to their feet. "Haha, haha. Don't worry Dante. This nerd doesn't know it, but I'm 2 steps ahead of him." Stingmon launches a small insect carrying a seed. The insect flies towards the last Macamon and injects the seed. Stingmon feels Macamon's health being syphoned, healing their wounds slowly.
"Alright, ready for Round 2!" Stingmon flies up and grabs Macamon by the arm. Stingmon punches them repeatedly in the ribcage, denting their armor. Macamon fires a rocket point blank, hitting Stingmon and blowing up Macamon in the process. Stingmon grabs their chest in pain, but they do not fall down. "Looks like your goons were not up to the task." Shirou scowls at Stingmon. "Well then, I'll just have to keep summoning monsters. Prepare yourself." Shirou summons several Rookie and Champion machine Digimon all over the area. Shirou sends dozens of electric wires from his machines, swarming Stingmon and holding them in place. Stingmon struggles to break free, but cannot move. "Ahh, Dan, te!" Dante worries about Stingmon. What could possibly stop Shirou's overwhelming force? If Dante and Stingmon couldn't stop Shirou, what hell would he unleash upon the Human World and the Digital World?

It's the final battle, and Shirou has Stingmon all tied up. Shirou puts his hands behind his head and cracks his neck back and forth. "Wahahaha! Seeing Stingmon humbled brings such great joy. All that talk, and you can't back it up. You are nothing like what I expected you to be." Dante watches on in agony as Stingmon remains in Shirou's clutches. Dante thinks about Shirou's words. What he expected them to be? Does Shirou know about Stingmon's past life? Just who were the Defectors, and what secrets did they continue to hide? Dante cannot stand seeing Stingmon suffer any more. "NO! I won't let you hurt my friends any more!" Dante's digivice starts blaring and flashing. It releases a bright flash of energy, engulfing the young tamer. Dante's DNA is converted into data, and flies towards Stingmon. Dante's data is uploaded into Stingmon
Stingmon feels the power flowing through his body. His hair gets longer, and his armor becomes more sleek and shiny. Because they are inside Shirou's computer program, Dante was able to transfer his data to Stingmon and greatly increase their power. Stingmon flexes tight and breaks free from some of the cords. "Now this is more like it! Hyah!" Stingmon slices up the remaining wires with their energy spikes and flies into the air. Shirou looks frustrated. "Argh! What trickery is this?!" Shirou's machine Digimon swarm in to attack Stingmon. A small agile machine Digimon charges towards Stingmon to attack, but Stingmon fires a moon cannon point blank, eviscerating the Digimon. A pair of Guardromon launch grenades at Stingmon, hitting for light damage. They fire two more grenades. Stingmon dodges one, and catches the other. Stingmon flies over to the Guardromon and stabs one right through the face with a spiking strike. They turn to the other one and throw the grenade. It explodes, destroying the other Guardromon.
Two flying machine Digimon fire lasers at Stingmon. Some hit, dealing light damage. Stingmon takes to the skies with the Digimon in pursuit. Stingmon stops and fires a moon cannon, missing the Digimon. The blast hits a platform and shatters it, sending a low level machine Digimon falling to their death. "Well that was a freebie." The airborne Digimon swoop in and begin striking Stingmon by flying towards them full speed, dealing moderate damage. Stingmon is wounded from all these attacks. "Time for some defense, dawg. Nightmare Armor!" Stingmon channels energy into their armor, hardening it and turning it jet black and blood red. It emits a dark aura. One of the airborne Digimon goes in for another strike, hitting Stingmon, but the attack only deals light damage. The other swoops in to attack, but Stingmon bashes it with the backside of its energy spike. Stingmon lands a quick kick, sending the Digimon falling out of the air. The remaining airborne Digimon goes for another strike, but Stingmon dodges. They turn around and fly back, but this time Stingmon grabs the Digimon. "I've had enough of your BS!" Stingmon points their energy cannon in the Digimon's face, and completely obliterates the machine Digimon's head. Stingmon lets go and they fall down. Stingmon lands on a platform facing Shirou.
Shirou is devastated Stingmon destroyed all of his machine Digimon. "You fool! Why can't you just accept your fate?" "It is you who must open your eyes to the truth. Every strategist has that one fatal flaw in their master plan. And I just figured out yours." Stingmon takes to the sky and swoops down below the platform Shirou is on. Stingmon fires a moon cannon, creating a small hole in the platform. With all their speed, Stingmon flies up and stabs Shirou's central machine unit with a spiking strike. The attack causes Shirou's machines to overload with energy and explode. The entirety of the blast is contained inside Shirou's force field, completely engulfing Shirou and his machines.
Dante wakes up after the blast back in his Human form, but still inside the computer. He looks around and sees Wormmon laying on the ground. He runs over and picks up Wormmon. "Buddy, wake up! We won!" Wormmon remains unconscious. Just when Dante thought Shirou was defeated, he heard his nerdy high pitched voice coming from the sky. "Did you really think defeating me would be so easy, Dante?" Great! Just what does Dante have to do to finally put this sociopath in his place?

Bits of data begin to form together. Shirou appears, wearing a fancy white suit, and carrying a slim cane. "Wormmon's unable to wake up for the moment. Allow me to return their data to my restoration pod." Shirou downloads Wormmon. Dante is furious at Shirou. "I'm through playing games, Shirou! And what's with that ridiculous getup?!" Shirou looks down at Dante and smirks. "In this reality, I call the shots. Come with me, young Palladino." Shirou generates a large door. "If you would be so kind to open this door for me. You see, I'm terribly parched after that last attack of yours." Wanting to get this over with, Dante begrudgingly turns the handle and yanks the door open. Dante follows Shirou down a long hallway. On the walls are computer screens showing clips from the tournament.
"You see, Dante, I have been watching all of you. Your attacks, your techniques, your mistakes. Even when you are not fighting, the cameras are rolling. I've gathered a great deal of personal information from all of you since we began. Just how long do you think we've been fighting, Dante? A day, a week? I've been in complete control the entire time." Dante continues to follow Shirou. "Just how much do you know about us?" "I know Takashi has 18 anime figurines of scantily clad big breasted girls. I can appreciate a hobby, but I hold myself to high standards, and would never be swayed by a pornographic idol." "Something tells me you have a lot more dirty figurines than Takashi. You must be the biggest otaku I've met." Shirou stops and turns around glaring at Dante. "Hmph! Remember who's in charge here."
The two Tamers reach another door at the end of the hallway. The door opens, and on the other side is nothing but a chess table. Shirou walks in and is greeted by Angel. She is wearing a skimpy maid outfit. "Hello, handsome. What would you like to drink?" "Bring me a glass of the finest wine in the Digital World." "Yes, master." Angel walks away, disappearing into a black portal. "What did you do to her?!" "Maybe I brainwashed her, maybe she realized how great I am, as everyone will in time." "Wow! Ok, so you have a crush on Angel too?" "Like you ever had a chance with her. I knew she wanted nothing to do with you a lot sooner than you did." "Ya, well she'd choose me any day over a pale, pasty-" "Psychotic?" "Um, ya." "Ah, you must be another handsome boy graduate." "Wow, I'm surprised you referenced that." Both of them share a laugh. "If only things had been different, Dante. We could have been friends." "What the hell are you talking about?! You're the one who turned on your own childhood friends! The whole reason we are fighting is because you have a crippling inferiority complex. The world sees you as a small man, so you feel the need to overcompensate. In your own sick, twisted way." "Strong words, Dante, but I know you have a tremendous amount of pressure on you to live up to your father. You are the one who overcompensates, because you don't want everybody to find out that your daddy's little boy is a phony, just like he is. He would be a laughing stock if people knew what a creepy little worm you really are."
Shirou adjusts his glasses. "We are getting off topic. The final challenge awaits." Shirou walks over to one side of the chess table and sits down. A chair comes out of the floor as he goes to sit down. "Have a seat, Mr. Palladino." Dante cautiously walks forward and approaches the chess table. He goes to sit down, but the chair doesn't appear, and he falls on his butt. "Oh, so you're a comedian now?" A chair comes out of the floor and lifts Dante up, seating him at the chess table. Angel appears through a portal and hands Shirou a glass of wine. Shirou takes the glass and hands her his cane. "That will be all for now, you stupid bitch." "Thank you, master." Angel exits through a portal. "Okay, you are seriously screwed up in the head." Shirou laughs and takes a sip of wine. "In the head? It might surprise you what one can learn from poking around somebody's head for a while. So, Dante. You defeated me in battle, and for that I applaud you." Shirou applauds sarcastically. "However, the real challenge is that of wit v wit. All you have to do is defeat me in a game of chess. Winner takes all." "A game of chess?! After all the fighting, after all the tricks, all the suffering you've brought upon us, and you think a single game of chess will solve anything?" "It sounds simple, must be easy." Dante thinks for a moment. Was this really the last challenge? Why would Shirou risk everything on a game of chess? "I don't know what your angle is, but if it will get me out of your digital toybox, I accept." Shirou grins and takes a sip of wine. "Ahh, excellent! Then let the ultimate match begin! Everyone's counting on you, Diddy." Dante stares at Shirou in shock. "There's only one person in the whole world who ever called me that. How did you know that?! What have you done to my sister?!" "Muhuhahaha! I told you, it might surprise you."

Dante and Shirou have a battle of the minds and duke it out in a game of chess. Shirou uses this time to gloat, distract Dante, and reveal some secrets. Dante starts off with the same setup he always uses when playing chess. It's uncommon to move the queen's pawn up first, but that was just how Dante rolled. The two self absorbed brainiacs go back and forth, battling on the chess board, and sparing with words. "I wasn't aware you were an avid chess player. You're full of surprises, Mr. Palladino." "I'm not a grandmaster or anything, but anything less than the best, and I'm gonna strike you down." Dante advances his knight to Shirou's side of the board. A knight was just what Dante needed to gallop around the board, getting in and getting out without being harmed.
Shirou takes a moment to take off his glasses and scratch his eyebrow. Dante knew this was a clear sign of Shirou displaying his nerves. Dante decides to distract Shirou. "So, what was it you wanted to tell me?" "There are many things I wish to tell you. To fully appreciate my genius, you must be made to understand. While inside this program, I can poke around inside your minds. I can understand your thoughts, your fears, your desires. If my research continues growing so rapidly, I will be able to understand your memories. One day, I may even be able to control a person's thoughts and actions." "I thought you were powerful enough to do that already. You sure brainwashed Angel." "Oh, Dante. Your eyes betray you. That was not Angel, just a simple hologram. But even a fake hologram can trigger real emotions."
Shirou snaps his fingers. Behind him to the left appears a small portal. Sakiko's face and torso stick out of the portal. "It's great to see you again, Dante." "Stop these dirty tricks you sick creep!" "Don't worry. It's just a computer program. Sakiko, why don't you tell Dante the truth about what's REALLY going on?" "I fear that time has come. But I must start at the beginning. Long ago, the Digital World was ruled over by a trifecta of evil. Every Digimon was right to fear their wrath. By far the strongest and most tyrannical is known as the Dark One. He ruled over the Digital World from his terrifying castle. His strongest ally was known as the Goddess of Destruction. She had superior magic that could bring hell to both the Digital World, and the Human World. These two dark tyrants were very close, and shared a strong bond through chaos, and malevolence. But there was also the third, the Prince of Chaos. Fiercely loyal to the other tyrants, the Prince of Chaos was by far the most wicked and cruel. Even when there was nothing to gain, they would terrorize their prey, breaking down their very soul."
"The three were bound together by their mutual power. To challenge another among them would have been futile. But alliances made from fear and greed are the first to crumble. The Prince of Chaos was jealous of the bond shared between the Dark One and the Goddess of Destruction. In secrecy, The Prince orchestrated a grand trap, fit for a Goddess. Deceived by her ally, the Goddess of Destruction in her current form was destroyed, and never to be seen again. Blinded by the Prince's betrayal, the Dark One sealed the Prince away, never to return. Now the Dark One was all alone. However, the Goddess of Destruction had taken the form of a digi egg. It would take time and energy to return the Goddess to her true form. So the Dark One constructed a plan. He had his most intelligent subjects craft a set of digi eggs. A group of human children was selected to raise the Digimon. Hence, why we found our Digimon, and how the Defectors came to be."
Dante is deeply disturbed to hear all this. "So this entire time, you were being manipulated by the Dark One? Who got the first egg?" Shirou laughs, and moves his queen. "Check. The Dark One's investment did not go as planned. The Prince sent one of his minions to stop the egg from hatching. Whatever they did, it convinced your parents to leave Japan. Henceforth, the child destined to receive the egg containing the Goddess of Destruction was nowhere to be fond. We found our eggs, and were doing just fine raising them, until you came back and opened Pandora's box." "Wait, you're lying! That can't be true." "It's true. Wormmon is the reincarnation of the Goddess of Destruction." Dante nearly rips his hair out of his head. "All this time! You knew! You all knew! And you, Shirou! You treated us like dirt because I couldn't control Wormmon, when the entire time you knew they were an evil creation." "You are correct. However, only when Wormmon returns to their true form will their memories return. Pray that day never comes."
Dante is distracted by this shocking realization. Shirou continues to keep the pressure on, not making any mistakes in the game. Dante struggles to pull himself together. (Thinking) "Okay, keep it together. I have to think. No, wait. He can read thoughts. He must be reading my thoughts! Gotta drown out my thoughts. Duuuuuh duh duh." Dante tries to block his thoughts from Shirou. He makes moves that only someone unfamiliar with chess would make. Shirou cannot predict Dante's moves because he is expecting him to make smart moves. So whenever he tries to set up an attack, Dante catches him off guard. The tides of the battle turn, and Dante capitalizes by giving Shirou a taste of his own tricks. "What's the matter, Shirou? Worried you are inferior to even the lowest forms of thought?" "Be quiet, Dante! Chess requires peace and quiet." "Oh, so summoning a cybernetic head and torso to distract me is you idea of peace and quiet? If you are going to use a tactic, you better be able to take it. You talk trash, but can't back it up. Check...Check."
Dante exploits Shirou's thoughts and emotions to throw off his game. Soon, Shirou's King is backed in a corner, surrounded by his other pieces. "You'll never beat me. I still have more pieces than you. Accept your defeat, Dante." Dante takes out a pack of cigarettes and lights up a smoke. "You have your skills, Shirou. You might not be the strongest, but you definitely think you are the smartest. You give yourself every advantage. You will only play when you can make up your own rules. Just like our real battle, you surround yourself with defenses. And just like our battle, I am going to use that against you. Checkmate!" Dante moves his last pawn forward, placing Shirou's king in check. "That's not checkmate, I can just take it with this." "Ah! You can't move it. It's the only thing blocking my rook from your king. Face it, you've lost." Shirou grabs his head in frustration. "Lose?! ME?! At chess?! Checkmated by a pawn, the ultimate low." Shirou hangs his head in shame. "Fine, you win, Dante. Take the data core, and your friends." The chess pieces disappear. The board opens up and reveals the data core. It appears to be equipped with a belt so it can be worn. "The data core is almost complete. It just needs to be fully charged. For that, I must sacrifice my programs, my reality. You will be returned to the Human World with your friends." "Thank you, Shirou. Where will you go from here?" "Nowhere. I'm tied into this reality now. In order for the data core to work, it will require my own data. Leave me, Dante. But remember, one day, I shall return. And on that day, I hope we can be friends."

The Tamers and Digimon reappear in the facility. No one but Dante knows what really happened. Sakiko stands up and stretches her arms. "We're back. Does that mean?..." Dante walks over to Sakiko and raises the data core in the air. "Yes, I defeated Shirou." The Defectors celebrate. "Way to go man! You must've really gave that nerd a beating." Dante just stares forward with a blank expression on his face. Revan watches from afar. "Hmph! What's wrong with your big hero?" "Shirou, did horrible things. Unspeakable atrocities. One dirty trick after another. And he told me the truth." Sakiko's face turns from joyful to shocked. She puts her arm around Dante and whispers in his ear. "Shirou really told you the truth?" Wormmon jumps up and down. "We can talk later. Let's get out of here right now!"
Wizardmon steps forward. "Not so fast! Nobody's going anywhere." Team Takashi is surprised by Wizardmon. "Give it up, Wizardmon. The time for fighting is over." "Oh, I've been waiting patiently. My time for fun has come." Wizardmon raises his staff and summons a large purple portal. A loud roar can be heard. Leomon emerges from the portal. "Leomon! What are you doing here?" Dante approaches Leomon. "You are not welcome here! Haven't we been through enough yet?" Leomon snarls. "Give me the data core, red haired one!" Leomon charges towards Dante and pounces on him. Leomon punches Dante in the face. Leomon gets up and lifts Dante up by his hair. Leomon takes out his knife and cuts off Dante's hair, and he falls to the ground. TJ is furious. "Wizardmon! What treachery is this?!" TJ tries to spirit evolve, but is unable to. Biyomon tries to digivolve to Birdramon. "Sal, why can't I digivolve?" The Digimon try to digivolve, but are also unable. "It's like our energy has been drained! What did Shirou do to us?" Leomon picks up the data core and walks back to Wizardmon.
Leomon tosses Wizardmon the data core. "Here. See to it that the Dark One knows I recovered this!" "Very well, Leomon. Head back to the castle. I'll be with you shortly." Wormmon approaches the two evil Digimon. "Where do you think you're going? Bad kitty!" Leomon turns around and growls. "Puny insect! If I ever see you again, I will end your miserable existence!" "God, what a jerk!" Wizardmon summons another portal and Leomon goes through. Both the Defectors and Team Takashi stand side by side. Dante lays on the ground, and Revan stands off to the side. Sal tightens her fists and raises them up. "I'm going to pummel you until there's nothing left but a big pile of snot!" "That's right! We are going to show you what happens to evil Digimon!" Judith runs over and checks on Dante. "Are you okay, brother?" Dante sits up a little bit and groans in pain. "Judith, that stupid cat, cut off my hair!" "I'm sorry, bro bro. I'll take care of you." Blood drips down from Dante's forehead. Leomon really knocked him out good.
Wizardmon just stands there with the data core. "Your Digimon are incapable of digivolving right now. What chance could you possibly have?" "Be that as it may, I think we are just going to hold you down and torture you." "Sounds like a great plan, boys." Wizardmon laughs. "That's enough out of you. I have no use for losers! Allow me to introduce, the most cunning and devious Digimon in all the Digital World. Now that I have the data core, I can release them from their eternal prison! Arise!" Wizardmon channels the power of the data core into their staff and summons a large dark portal. "Argh, what's this? Another one of your goons?!" "No, this is the next ruler of the Digital World!" A voice can be heard coming from the portal. "Ah, it looks like this play ends in tragedy." A large frightening demonic Digimon emerges from the portal. "My fans have been waiting for years, but I have finally returned to the stage!" The Tamers and Digimon are terrified by this Digimon's presence. Cassius speaks up. "You there! Just who the hell are you?" The Digimon smirks a sinister grin. "Some call me master. Some call me conquer. Others just curse the ground I walk on. But you can call me, Piedmon..."

The Defectors and Team Takashi are awestruck by this evil Digimon. They can feel the darkness surrounding Piedmon. "Just what are you doing here?" Revan speaks up. "Sakiko, this is him! That's the Prince of Chaos." Piedmon smiles so wickedly it could make a baby cry. "I'm flattered someone remembers. While my entrance into this story has been late in the plot, I intend to make the best out of the time I have before I defeat all of you." "What are they talking about? This is real life!" "Foolish girl. Isn't all life just a collection of stories? Are not all of you just characters in a grand play?" TJ tightens his fists and stares at Piedmon. "Just how deranged is this Digimon?" Sal takes a few steps forward. "Are you crazy? Ya think anyone can control my actions?!" Piedmon laughs. "And here I thought Tamers were bright young minds. Life is a play, and I'm the Director."
Cassius and Betamon step in front of Sal. "I don't care what you think! We are not gonna let you walk in here and fight us when we can't even digivolve. I'll take you down myself!" Cassius charges towards Piedmon, but Piedmon teleports to the side. Piedmon raises his hand and knocks Cassius down with a Mind Blast. "Ah, Cassius. So powerful, so beloved. You will be the first added to my collection." Piedmon throws a large white cloth over Cassius and Betamon, turning them into little dolls. The others watch on in horror as their friend is trapped by the Prince of Chaos. Angel cries out. "No, Cassius!" Piedmon chuckles at Angel's suffering. "What's the matter, girly? Did I just kill your boyfriend?" "Shut up you walking drag show!" "Hmph! I don't know what wardrobe was thinking when they made you wear that. Nonetheless, into the rag you go." Piedmon throws another white cloth at Angel and Patamon, turning them into dolls. Bo is mortified. "Ahh, he's picking us off one by one! What kind of sick mind do you have?" Piedmon turns to Bo. "Ahh, Bo. If it wasn't for you, Team Takashi wouldn't be smart enough to tie their shoes." Takashi gets mad. "Hey! That's not funny! We can totally tie our shoes you big stupid clown!" Takashi looks down and sees that his shoes are untied. "Ah, crap." "Takashi, the token goggle head leader. Ahh, but where's your goggles?" "Mean old Dante broke them." "Such a shame. And now you will never get your chance for revenge, uneducated little brat." Piedmon throws a white cloth, turning Bo, Kunemon, Takashi, and Agumon into dolls.
We are down to Dante, Judith, Wormmon, Sakiko, Revan, Sal, Biyomon, and TJ. Wizardmon watches on, delighted to see his dark master toying with the Tamers. Revan grabs Sakiko by the arm. "Come on, we have to get out of here!" Revan and Sakiko run over to Dante, Judith, and Wormmon. The four of them run out of the hole in the wall next to the dugout. Sal, Biyomon, and TJ get ready for a fight. "Typical! You are far more powerful than us, and yet you still won't fight us on an even playing field." "Ya, if we could digivolve, we'd at least stand a chance." "That's what you believe. It doesn't matter if you could. This method is simply faster." "This isn't fair at all! This is not how a true warrior falls in battle." "True, but life isn't fair. You will be missed dearly. Sal, your fiery passion is intoxicating, and TJ, your strength knows no equal. In another life, I hope you find what you are looking for." Piedmon throws another cloth, turning Sal, Biyomon, and TJ into dolls. "And now to catch up with those pesky Defectors. Wizardmon, report back to your, 'Master', and engage the next phase of our plan." "Yes, Master. It is an honor to serve you, and witness your unfathomable power." Wizardmon disappears into a portal.
Dante and the others make it out of the facility, and hide in an old abandoned theme park. "Piedmon will never find us here." The gang walks around the park for a while. Wormmon makes funny faces in the hall of mirrors. Sakiko hears music coming from the distance. "That's strange, I thought this park was abandoned. Why would music be playing?" Sakiko heads towards the source of the sound. She finds an old record player in one of the booths. An icy chill crawls up her spine. "What's going on?!" Dante and Judith walk around the hall of mirrors. Dante is carrying Wormmon. "I'm sorry, Judith. I didn't want anything bad to happen to you." "It's alright, Dante. It's not like anyone knew a psychotic clown was going to hunt us down." Judith sees a scary reflection in the mirror. She screams and turns around. "Oh, it's you, Revan." "You didn't have to scream! I just came in here to ask if you knew where Sakiko went." "Where did she run off to?" Dante, Wormmon and Judith exit the hall of mirrors. Revan goes to leave, but Piedmon's hands reach out of a mirror and grab Revan.
Dante, Judith, and Wormmon look around the park for Sakiko. "Why would she go out on her own like this?" Sakiko hears someone coming. "Who's there?!" "Sakiko, it's us!" Sakiko runs over to the others. "I heard music playing over here." "That's odd. None of us heard anything." A different song is played all across the theme park. "Dante, what's going on?" Piedmon's laugh is heard over the speakers. "Why can't we ever go anywhere nice for a change?" Revan comes walking out of the shadows. "Revan, I'm terrified! Why did we have to go after the data core?!" Sakiko runs over to Revan, but Revan raises his hand and throws a white cloth at Sakiko, turning her into a doll. "Revan! What are you thinking?!" Revan shapeshifts back to Piedmon. "And now, our cast has been reduced to but a handful. So tell me, Dante... who's going to be next?" Dante grabs Judith by the arm and runs away. They make their way to an old merry-go-round. Demonic music plays across the park. The three of them hide on the other side of the merry-go-round. Piedmon walks over and places his hand on it, charging it up. It powers up and starts spinning. Piedmon jumps up and walks toward the group. Dante and Judith run the opposite way, dodging and jumping over various horses. Wormmon climbs onto Dante's shoulder and shoots a sticky net at Piedmon. The Prince of Chaos cuts it in two with a trump sword. Dante and Judith jump off the merry-go-round and try to escape.
They make their way through the park, until they reach a dead end. Piedmon approaches them, marching slowly forward. "I trust you are ready to finish this." Wormmon jumps out of Dante's arms. "Now hold on, you big crazy freakazoid! Just take the data core and leave." "Oh, but it is you I've waited so long for, Wormmon." Wormmon is confused. "What's this nutbar talking about?" "I will explain everything later. Now to eliminate the last of the Tamers and take you with me." Piedmon throws a white cloth at Dante and Judith. Wormmon jumps up and the cloth turns Wormmon into a doll. Tears run down Dante's face. "No, Wormmon! I can't stand to go on without you!" Piedmon laughs. "There's nothing you can do to save them. But don't worry, you will be joining your trivial little friends soon enough." Piedmon gets ready to throw another cloth. Judith runs forwards and dives toward Piedmon. She tries to grab the data core. Judith activates the data core, and Judith and Piedmon disappear in a blast of energy. Dante watches on in agony as his sister disappears before his eyes. "Judith..." Dante wanted to keep her safe, but in the end it was Judith who saved him. Completely alone, Dante goes back to his house.
Back at the house, Dante tries to wrap his mind around what had happened. He goes outside to smoke a cigarette. It is pouring rain. While Dante is standing there smoking, he hears a voice. "Dante!" He looks around, but doesn't see anybody. With no friends, no sister, no data core, and no Digimon, Dante struggles to accept this next stage of his life. How could he go on without everyone? Dante hangs his head in shame, consumed by grief and sadness. And so ends the journey of the two siblings who moved to Japan, got into some trouble, and met a lot of crazy friends along the way. Now, what was next for Dante? Would he leave Japan? Or was Dante's adventure only just beginning?
