Interconnecting caves that traveled on for miles through the Northern Prominence Mountain Range, linking underground to other areas of the Digital World. Or said to. But those who have tried using the Spyware Caverns, were never seen again. It was a Labyrinth of Tunnels.This rumor was unknown to the hot piping fresh Spirit User. And yet here, Rei Yukimura- or currently known as Flamon- was leading them through the maze as if he knew it like the back of his hand.

The heavy breathing of the three digimon bounced off the cavern walls. One other silent and shallow to the sensitive ears. Shiromon and Kuromon- who had the comatose Kai wrapped up in her thick black fury- ran behind the Flamon, who had switched from two to prowling on fours. Their sense of urgency had never dulled, not even from their sprinting pants that had to be for miles underneath the ground. Every once in a while, one would stumble in exhaustion, but each quickly reminded themselves that they couldn't stop. Getting the Tamer somewhere warmer was top priority.
Eventually the freezing temperatures of the Mountains raised, Flamon did notice. But isolated from the surface, it was still the dark and dank cool that all caves retained. It wouldn't be enough. Not to mention, they didn't know where they were or where they were heading. All they had was Flamon's instincts to follow. Inch by inch he could feel the pull turn greater, and in this instant, it became so strong that the little digimon forced himself faster. "Alm....ost...there..." He gasped.
Just ahead. A dim light!
Please let it be warm! Hot! Anything but snow!
Flamon pleaded with anything that was considered a God in this strange world. She would never be able to forgive herself if something happened to Kai. She was the one who dragged him around, barely protected by his thin coat in the icy howling blizzard. If only she had been patient! They should have gone to the station and see if they could catch a ride into the tundra. If only. All these should haves and if's. They weren't going to help anyone now. Shake them out. You can apologize later.
He was right!
Finally! The light grew brighter and the ground sloped upwards, the three breaking out of the darkness and into the rays of the blazing sun. Flamon skidded upon the cracked and brittle skin of the earth to a standstill. He would have collapsed right then and there from shaky limbs and fatigue. But first they needed to tend to Kai. Flamon dug up on whatever energy he had left in his dry reserves. At least his prayers seemed to have been answered. The desert's harsh sun felt good against his skin, so this should fix Kai right up in no time!

"This is foolishness. Who knows where where we are. We could be anywhere right now!" Were the first words Kai heard. "Aww, c'mon sis. Lighten up! It's all a part of the adventure! And way better than the blizzard!" Right... the blizzard... Kai's head hurt. He felt like... he was forgetting something... The blizzard... The cave... "Rei!" He shouted, sitting up, much to the surprise of the Digimon underneath him.
Kai! You're awake!" The voice that spoke was... Not entirely familiar. Who? A lion? And such pure white... Could it be Shiro? Had he evolved? As if in answer, both Digimon shrank away, dropping Kai onto hot sand. "It is good to see you are awake." Kuro said, swiftly dodging the falling human. "What about Rei?" He croaked. After all, she had been in dire danger when he had... What had happened to him?
"Rei is well. She found her first spirit. That is her, over there, see?" Kuro nodded over to the small boyish Digimon ahead of them. That was Rei? Kai shook the remaining grogginess out of his head. He must have passed out from the cold... But now he was hot! Too hot! He quickly stripped off his coat, which didn't help much. But it did help.

"Look! There! What? No. I told you if we wandered around aimlessly we'd run into him! Because that's how life works! ...Quiet, you," Holy...that is a loud voice. The source comes stomping around the corner moments later. A twenty-five foot tall, bipedal dinosaur with blue-and-blacked striped skin, and a large horned skull...helmet. BlackGeoGreymon!
As it grows a little nearer, it separates into two smaller reptiles. One black, with training belts on his forearms, and the other...uh. Well. He has a giant head. Probably to try and contain that...ego? No? Alright. BlackAgumon and BigAgumon. The latter reverts again, pretty quickly into a teenage boy, who seems...entirely too excitable about everything, as he rushes over and practically tackles Kai into a hug.
"There you are! Man, we've been looking all over for you!"
BlackAgumon is, as ever, more reserved as he pads over. He snorts, "Yeah. Fortunately the Kid's dumb luck seems to get us to wherever we need to be."
"Hush, you. Are you okay? You don't look so good! Do you want some water? I have some spare water in m--"
Ah, good. This has started.

"Kai! I'm fine. A bit confused but fine." Like he thought before, this wasn't what he had expected. Why was her spirit so...boyish?
But oh how happy he was. Kai was okay! The Flamon would have probably tackled the boy if it wasn't for the fact that a giant black dinosaur came stomping around the corner. He stared in awe, jaw dropping and tilting his head upward as the giant digimon came closer. His mouth gaped even wider when the creature changed into two separate smaller dinosaurs. Agumons...The bigger one shifted again, into a boy- and Flamon squeaked in surprise. Another Spirit User! And how did he know Kai? He seemed like an excited little puppy, tackling the other in greeting.
Flamon sidled over next to Shiro, watching the interaction warily. He probably should change...back. The problem was, he didn't know how to? "Um, Shiro, how did you change back?" The little digimon inquired to the other. His attention was now focused on the BlackAgumon. How did that whole thing work? He didn't even know that was probable! Some kind of melding evolution? There was so much she needed to learn, Flamon suddenly became conscious.
"Kai?" Shyly he finally stepped up, tilting his head at the newcomers. "Who's... them?" Well that didn't exactly come out the way he wanted, and wiggled his nose in annoyance to himself.

Kai had finally stood up- Only to be tackled back to the ground, as his legs gave out under him. "Scout!? How'd you find us!?" Kai asked, incredulously. Dumb luck? That didn't even begin to cover it! "Water?" Suddenly, Kai felt extremely parched. "If you have any to spare, then please." Amazing! He should probably introduce Rei to these two.
"Turn back?" Shiro asked quizzically. Turn back from what? And why ask Shiro? After all, Shiro was... Shiro looked down. Huh!? Where had his body gone! Why was he small Shiro!? Where was the justice!? But he soon bounced back. "Scout! BlackAgumon! You totally missed me kicking butt in my evolved form! It was a wham, and a pow, and a shwack!" The small white Digimon attempted to illustrate each sound effect with a motion, not very effectively. But it was amusing to watch, at least.
"Sorry, sorry. Rei, these two are Scout, the spirit user I told you I invited, and BlackAgumon, his..." Kai faltered, still not entirely sure what relationship was held between the two. "Anyways, Scout, Blackagumon, this is Rei... Though she is currently spirit evolved into..." He looked to Kuro for help, who helpfully supplied "Flamon." "Flamon. You'd make a better teacher than me, as a fellow spirit user, if you wouldn't mind?"

Well, Scout doesn't let Kai escape without a bonebreaking hug, of course. He flips open his satchel and pulls out one of his water bottles. He knew carrying more than one would eventually come in handy! He gives BlackAgumon a 'told you' look as he hands the bottle to Kai.
"You digivolved?" BlackAgumon grunts at Shiro. Totally unfair. That little runt gets to evolve and he doesn't? Where's the justice!? "Good for you," Oh dear.
"Rei! Flamon! Hello!" Scout rushes over, like the crazed Energizer Bunny he is, "Wow! Cool form. And you're a spirit user too? You look fiery, like my stuff! Like Agunimon Junior!" Stop. "Usually I just concentrate on changing back into me! Well, uh. human me. Do you still have your D-Scanner?" ...Oh, right, you've never tried to access it when Digivolved. Weird. "There might be a manual override!" STOP TALKING.

This was Scout? He was so hyper!
"I-um, fiery? Yes..I guess." Augnimon Junior? And is that all it took it? "Uh, well it did disappear... Though I had this weird buzzing pull in my head-still do, it's what led us out of the caves...so I guess that could've been it. But I have no idea how to access it otherwise..." Flamon tilted his head the other way. Well, it wouldn't hurt to give it go. Just think human then, right?
Me. Rei. Golden eyes, taller, short sandy hair...that funny feeling again... Think. The human girl with a limp. Oh! My limp! She didn't realize it before! It was gone! Comprehension had finally dawned. With all the excitement previously, she hadn't been paying attention. Flamons form had already changed, Rei now standing in place with her red continuously beeping D-scanner in hand.
Ah. I'm back.
Next time she would revel more in that tiny miracle.
Now it was unbearably hot. Without second thoughts, Rei tugged her pants down, back to her black shorts underneath, slipped the stifling coat off, and stuffed the two items back into her bag. She straightened up, relishing . That felt much better. She remembered why she hated jeans so much. It always got too hot for her, even in the winter months! "Its very nice too meet you Scout, thanks for the advice! And good to meet you too, BlackAgumon! Er, in my normal form." A cheery smile which suddenly reshaped into a serious frown. Rei turned, facing Kai and bowing in apology. "I'm really glad you're okay Kai....I apologize for my rashness." She also turned to Shiro and Kuro, bowing to them as well.
Rei knew how frantic Kuro had been about him. And whatever reservations the black digimon had against her formerly, she hoped it didn't make it worse. That was the last thing she wanted to do.

Oh, Rei was back to normal. That was go- "R-Rei!?" Why was she stripping down in front of two boys!? Did she have no shame!? Kai twisted his head to the side so he couldn't see. Had being a Digimon melted her brains! Not wearing clothes was fine for Flamon, but humans wore clothes for a reason!
Oh, right. She was wearing shorts beneath those pants. Had she known they'd end up somewhere so hot!? Yeesh, the heat was almost unbearable. Would he seriously get both hypothermia and heat stroke on the same day? He turned back, rather embarassed. "Anyways, we should find some shade, and plan from there.Since we got the spirit, I guess it's time to return to the human world? Sorry for calling you out here for nothing, Scout." He turned to Rei. "Don't worry about it. I'm just glad you're safe." Their misadventure could have gone a lot worse.
Shiro was busy dancing about due to the hot sand burning his feet. Kuro gave a small 'hmph' and pointedly looked away from her, wrapping herself around Kai's neck to avoid the sand.

"I don't mind! I got to stomp through the desert!" Of course Scout's happy. He's always happy. "Plus I brought water. Oh, I have enough for you too, Rei," Why is he carrying so much water? Oh, right, because he's crazy, and managed to find them in a desert through sheer dumb luck.
"Besides, I can make sure you two get back alright, when you head back. That's more than enough reason to come here!" Please. Stop being so cheery for five seconds. No? Whatever.
"Kid, let them breathe," BlackAgumon snorts, scratching at the training grips on his arms. At least the weather's nice! Oh, right. Reptile. "And sit down, if they're walking back, they've got a decent hike ahead of them,"

Rei's eyes were torn from Kuro's brush off to Scout who offered water. She was pretty thirsty. "Yeah, that would be great, thanks!" How he could be so cheerful, she couldn't quite understand. It did bring another smile to her face, listening to the BlackAgumon berate him for it. "Good idea, see any good places to take cover in while you guys were marching out there?" They should find shade. She didn't want Kai to get sick from the extreme changes of weather. Rei sat, taking place next to the dinosaur digimon in his advice to Scout.
In the meantime her D-scanner wouldn't shut up.
"Stupid thing," She grumbled, pressing at the buttons for an off switch. A compass popped up again from the screen, whizzing in tune to the racket it was causing. "Huh? I just found my spirit though..." There really couldn't be another so soon! That must've been what she felt as Flamon. The digivice had been leading her to the next location! The totem had to be pretty close too for it to be beeping like this.
You would think Rei would be ecstatic finding the next one so shortly. Much of that enthusiasm had diminished thanks to...Flamon. Don't get her wrong, she's glad she would be able to resume her practice without the burden of her limp. Even if she couldn't do so in her world, this was better than nothing. This mission had been for that purpose only. Not to use for fighting. Which she assumed was the reason why there was so many totems one could collect. One for her really was good enough!
I'll just wrap it up in my extra clothes, that should help.

"Err... We should try to conserve water. We don't know how long we'll be out here." The end of the desert didn't appear close, and who knew how far away Scout had come from! It felt slightly hypocritical, as he had already asked for water. He really wished he'd studied desert survival skills more. Half baked knowledge was more dangerous than no knowledge at all! But how was he supposed to know he'd be getting stuck in a desert!?
"Rei, your thingy is beeping!" Shiro stated, despite it being obvious. "Digivices... Aren't known to break..." Maybe it had? But all things considered... Well, Scout was the expert on Spirit Users. "What do you think, Scout? Is it broken, or are we taking a detour to find another spirit?" Not having a D-scanner, Kai was not at all familiar with how they worked. He wasn't sure he had another hunt left in him, though. Good thing Scout was here.

"Mm. I think I saw some more caves. And a couple of ledges. Nothing, um. Really 'shady' other than that," Scout shrugs. He was a massive dinosaur at the time, of course he wasn't paying attention to things! Heck, he hardly pays attention to the world as it is!
"Mm. Well, you were there when I got Agunimon's Spirit. There was another one with it, so if Rei's D-Scanner is beeping, it's prolly tryin' to tell her something important!" Scout insists, scratching the back of his neck, "Uh. Well, we should probably take a look anyway. Or I can go, if you'd rather!"
So helpful. Or maybe he's trying to steal Rei's stuff!
No, it's the first one.
BlackAgumon merely grunts again, "Volunteering me for more stuff, I see, Kid. Awesome."

The sandy haired girl stared at Scout with skepticism. It sounded like he didn't know much about being a spirit user either. Or he doesn't pay attention in class like he is supposed to. Rei wagered on the latter.
"A-ah no!" she quickly shook her head, "-I mean, that's kind of you but-" But what? Should she go get it? She did have to admit that she was curious. Maybe it would be a bit more feminine...better yet taller! "Besides, how would you find it on your own? It looks like my D-scanner is the only one tracking it." The only thing they could do is send Scout and BlackAgumon in the direction, otherwise they would have to tag along. It really could be anywhere in the desert, and maybe even farther than she thought.
"Well...I probably should go take a look. Though you can go home if you want Kai. You too Scout, BlackAgumon." Rei gestured to the first in a worrisome tone. She didn't want to make him stay if he wasn't up for it, and if BlackAgumon sounded unwilling, she didn't want to tread on his toes. Plus it wasn't like she was entirely defenseless now. She's has Flamon! Small, but quick, and easily undetectable unlike the giant Dinosaur Scout and his...partner were earlier.

"We know where it is... Why don't we come back another time?" Kai wasn't sure he could handle it, if it was anything like their last search. With his luck, he'd pass out from heatstroke. Heatstroke and Hypothermia in one day, if it wasn't so serious, he might have laughed! "Aww, c'mon Kai, where's your spirit of adventure! Besides, I wanna digivolve again!" Shiro was simply not having any of Kai's stick in the mud tendencies today! He liked how strong it felt to be Shiromon!
"Oh no, you are not going in on your own! What if something like what attacked us in the cave comes again!?" He only vaguely remembered what had happened. There had been something attacking Rei. From Shiro's boasts, he had evolved and beaten it? Kai's memory was fuzzy, having passed out soon after. Would he be able to do it again if he needed to? He couldn't be sure... Which was why they had Scout with him. Scout was... Energetic, but definitely dependable. It felt good to have him around. "We will not get anywhere standing around here. Let us go" Kuro declared sensibly. It was true, standing around like this was just asking for heatstroke.

Scout nods in agreement with Kai. Having Rei go by herself wasn't a great idea. The Digital World could be dangerous, after all. It'd be safer for them all to go. Or, at the very least... "Well, B and I just got to the Digital World, so, we're in no rush to leave, right, B?"
"Mrm."
"See? B agrees. Plus there's safety in numbers! If something attacks, you'd be better off with some allies to lend a hand," Well, it's not like his argument lacks logic, for once. Astounding. "We should just see where your D-Scanner leads us. Y'know, if you want to get your spirit and all!" The teen offers another smile, as though that makes everything ready. Goodie.
BlackAgumon wheels around with a sigh, and looks to Rei, waiting for some indication of which direction they need to head in. Of course they're going to help someone else, seemingly whether she wants it or not. Yup. Just another day for the Idiot Brigade.
