"If you're okay with that, I guess," Marshal sighed. "I'm sorry for all the trouble. This isn't exactly what I had in mind for our evening activities, but Coronamon can be a little...stubborn sometimes."
Coronamon had somehow let his emotions run wild, and now he was about to enter into a fight with a Champion-level Digimon for no reason. Taking Iko's bait like a stupid fish, Coronamon charged in with a Corona Knuckle.
Marshal felt that Coronamon wasn't restraining himself or thinking, so he ran over to where the two Digimon were fighting to calm him down. Maybe Luke would follow?

Oh? Coronamon was actually going for it!
Instead of move to dodge, or anything in that right, Iko simply gave a grin. Using the shadow between his arm and his side, he conjured a black flame, surrounding his right hand: squaring his stance, as the rookie would move to swing, Iko would move that fiery palm to block: flames would counter flames, as the palm would take the force of the fist. But there wouldn't be much weight to Iko's block, as he took a step to the side soon after.
"Mm... not bad for spirit, kid. But unless you dig your feet in, you aren't going to interest me that much." He chuckled, a glance given to the tamer. "Not that I want to fight a rookie. Maybe he can help ya a bit here?"
As for Luke? Indeed, he followed along, just giving a blink as Iko let out those words. One punch from the Coronamon, and he was already into it? "... Was he just... looking for a fight? That bored?"

Iko asked Marshal for a little help, and he grinned. "Alright, then," he chuckled. "Hope you're ready for this!" He grabbed the Blue Card from his hand and ran it through the D-Arc. "Digi-Modify! Matrix Digivolution, Activate!"
"Coronamon Matrix Digivolve to...Flaremon!"
In an instant, the giant Ultimate level loomed over Iko, grinning maliciously. He got ready to continue the fight, waiting to see if Iko would evolve further.
Marshal smiled and looked over at Luke, still chuckling lightly. "Alright, that's what I can offer. You got anything?"

Well, well, wasn't that fancy? Coronamon could hit Ultimate! Rather than shy away, Iko gave a wide grin, readying his claws on the defensive. "Alright, if that's how you want to play, we can match... and we don't need a damn card to get there either. Luke?'
"... If you must." Seriously, what was with today? And now Marshal was into it? Nonetheless, the light on Luke's Digivice shone the right color, as he held out the reddish-brown device. "Go for it! Lunar Evolution!'
The mark on Iko's forehead pulsed, the crescent moon replaced with a half moon. Briefly, a light shone around him, gold armor now covering his torso, arms, and legs, a matching helmet with a visor hiding his expression from Flaremon. As the light died down, Shaininmon's arms pulsed green, three crescent blades falling from each wrist, each an arced blade about a foot in length, connected to the previous blade by the end. They dangled like chains from non-existent shackles on his wrists.
"Heh." Like that, he kicked back to make space, not wanting to start this fight mere inches from the enemy. "Alright, let's start this again. Show me what you got!'

Flaremon was impressed by Iko's Ultimate form. Gaining a bit of respect back for his newfound rival, Flaremon decided to also jump back a bit and allow Iko to have the first move. It seemed he had calmed down a bit after Digivolving, which would certainly do nothing but help.
"Nice, you guys can go Ultimate, too!" Marshal noted. "That makes us pretty evenly matched."

Evenly matched, huh? Iko just grinned at that, as he was given space: it was a simple matter at this point to set up his second layer of 'Crescent Whip', the blades on his arms doubling in length to a total of six. Now, he had three arms-length of range to work with, and wasted no time in using it!
"We'll see!" Taking just one step forward, Iko brought his arms forward with a 'clap'. The whips buckled, and then struck out, like a pair of scissors from the left and right, aiming to strike the sides of Flaremon's chest!

Flaremon was able to react in time to Iko's attack, jumping straight up into the air to avoid the approaching blades. It appeared that giving him space was the wrong move. At the current moment, he would have to do everything in his power to stop Iko from walling him out.
"Crimson Beast-King Wave!" Flaremon shouted. He thrust his hands out in a strange pattern and a huge, lion-shaped fireball shot right at Iko. Hopefully this would distract the opponent long enough for him to approach.
Marshal smiled. The two of them hadn't had a fight this good in a while, if ever! He couldn't wait to see how the rest of it played out.

Something like that... I can just see it straight away!
Flaremon's attack didn't leave much to the imagination: arm movements aside, the pooling fire energy in his palms was enough to draw his attention. Shifting weight to his feet, Iko tore off to the right, running in a circle around his target, the fireball scorching where he was moments prior. Flexing out his arms again, he once more used 'Crescent Blades', now extending out to nine blades. And flicking just his left arm - that closer to the Flaremon - he would send his whip out again. This time, though, as the blades came close, he'd find them much faster than before.
The longer Iko made his whip, the faster the edge was: pulling back his arm at the last moment, he'd 'crack' the whip, flicking one blade right at his opponent's center!

Iko was too quick to dodge Flaremon's attack, and had just make it even more difficult for Flaremon to attack. With no way to maneuver himself in midair, Flaremon took the hit from Iko's attack and was sent plummeting into the ground. He managed to shift his weight evenly and get back up in time, but was still pretty far away. "Well, then," he muttered. "Looks like I'm going to have to get a little creative if I want to at least keep it close."
Marshal was concerned that Flaremon was doing poorly in the fight. "You guys are good," he muttered to Iko. "How long have you two been at this?"

What was this, a chance to buy even more space? Feeling a good recoil from one of his whips, Iko chuckled as the Flaremon hit the ground with a 'thud'. "Oh, you'll have to get creative, and then some." As Iko taunted, the shadow underneath him formed around his back, shaping together into two wings jutting from his armor. With a single pulse of those wings, he pulled himself about a foot over the ground, to start to glide in a circle around the Flaremon's position, his blades dangling beneath. And from here? In a less-focused fashion, he would use his closer arm, to try and continue to lash out at Flaremon's side, 'outboxing' him in a sense.
"Mm... we met a couple years ago. Hard to put a date on it, really." Luke seemed engrossed in the battle, focused on the Flaremon's movement. "Those legs were made for jumping... is Iko... hm..."

Welp, things really weren't looking good for Flaremon here. Getting annoyed again, Flaremon roared and slammed his fist to the ground with a shout of, "Flare Eruption!" A huge dome of fire erupted from the earth, which would envelop anything in the area, including hopefully Iko. The opponent's blade was about to strike, but Flaremon ducked to launch his attack and the attack simply grazed the Ultimate's back.

Another ranged attack? Tch... I wonder if I made the bait too obvious...
In the thick of battle, Iko's thought was a passing one, at best. But Flaremon's attack seemed to be a catch-all, a zoning tool to deal with the sort of out-boxing that Iko had taken to. He flicked his arm back, though the outer half of his left whip was caught out, all but three blades dispersing in the flame. As for the attack itself, Iko wasn't too committed to a charge, and simple tilted his wing to move outside its range...
... And as soon as the flames died down, he would cut back in, and make a dive right towards Flaremon's chest! A slit in the center of his helmet would open, letting out a quick, thin beam of energy, aimed at Coronamon's dead center: Lunar ray! If he could get a good hit here, Iko hoped to get nice and close, within striking range of the Flaremon!

Flaremon slowly stood up, the power required for a Flare Eruption proving to be a little much for him at the current moment. He would need a second to compose himself, but Iko was not allowing him an inch. Desperately, Flaremon held his arms out. "Crimson Beast-King Wave!" he shouted, hoping to clash with Iko's attack and reset the situation.
"Wow, you guys have been together for a while," Marshal observed. "Coronamon and I met around eight months ago."

Alright! Now we're cooking!
Ah-ha! Seeing that cringe in Flaremon's face, Iko knew he was on the right track, and he wasn't going to stop short now! Even as Marshal's partner put his arms up, the armored wolf kept his stance straightforward. The Lunar Ray, the thin laser it was, hit the Crimson Beast-King Wave dead center, splitting the fireball down the center. Flames burst to the left and right, which would make many back up and give space.
Not Iko. Drawing his arms forward like a boxer, he forced his way through, fur underneath that golden armor singing, until he was just mere feet from his opponent. Then? Well, the armor cracked, around both of his arms: Armor Weapon! Fragmenting metal off his armor and leaving his forearms exposed, he let off a spread of several golden bullets towards the Flaremon's chest!
"Eight months? Not bad... took us a little longer than that to get ultimate." Luke seemed far more distracted in the conversation, though. It wasn't in his nature to look away from the fight!

Iko's attack was too fast for Flaremon to dodge. The shrapnel dug into the lion's flesh, causing him to roar in pain, but adrenaline took over and Flaremon continued the fight. Now that Iko was right where he wanted him, Flaremon began his Red Lion Dance, attempting to strike Iko with a serious flurry of punches and kicks.
Marshal was a little concerned. Flaremon didn't usually cry out like that. He must've been hurting pretty bad. "I hope he knows when to call it quits," he muttered, frowning a bit.
