Night on Whitewater was nothing short of amazing. In a nightlife-esque way of sorts, that is. The neon lights conveyed their messages all across the main street; most of them were inviting to some kind of fun; whether dancing, drinking or... other endeavors. Lest to say, that wasn't why three humans and two partners were going to gather in the same place.
The meeting point was the lobby of a PROFIT-owned luxury hotel, the Leader. Even if comparatively small, anyone entering would find a richly decorated hall, a plenty of space to sit. They supposed to meet there and await their ride, and they were supposed to already be changed up and ready to attend the gala. Would they, though? That question would be answered soon enough.
Their designated pickup time was 10:00 PM, and they were urged to be on time; on these matters, that was a quality greatly appreciated. Beginning this small endeavor with the wrong foot wasn't something that Yuu wanted to do.
Now it was up to them! What would they do?Introductory post to kick things up! Don't forget to introduce yourselves and to describe what your and your mons (if applicable) are wearing!
Amsel was really excited, why well because she and her partner had applied for a super secret mission! and they were accepted! however, there were a few drawbacks. First of all they had to be properly dressed, the mission was supposed to take place at a fancy party and the needed to look the part. Amsel had a very elegant black dress with matching black high heels under the dress. Her curly hair was loose, she had used hair products to make her curls bouncy and more noticeable. Amsel had only added a bit of makeup to her face, just enough to bring out her more flattering features, like her eyes. Finally, she had a cute little bow on her head, it was on the left side of her head.
Her Digimon partner Dorumon was wearing a neat little bartender outfit, Amsel had to make a few adjustments to it so it could fit her partner's true form, it fits him perfectly now. Amsel's heels made loud clacks as they ran to their meeting point, she was holding her dress up slightly to keep it from dragging on the dirty ground. Dorumon by know was able to keep up with his partner easily, his own clawed paws making slight clicking noises as he ran alongside his partner. Dorumon didn't know why they were running they were going to be on time, he had to guess that his partner was going to need to burn off some energy now, after all, they were going to a pretty uptight party.
Finally, they had spotted their destination, a hotel, they were supposed to meet in the lobby. Both human and Digimon slowed down and entered the hotel, they were immediately awed by the decorated hall, for such a small hotel it sure looked quite big on the inside. Ru-ru was the first one to notice yuu, he tugged gently at his tamers dress to get her attention, once he had her attention, he pointed to yuu. Amsel grinned at yuu and made her way over to her, ru-ru right behind her, "Guten tag! my names Amsel D Rosa and this is my partner ru-ru!" she siad with a smile as she introduced herself and her Digimon partner "are you here for the mission too?" she asked, she didn't realize that this was the person who would lead the mission.
This was it, it was time for Katsura to take things in her own hands. For once Katsura had accepted a serious mission as some kind of agent on a secret mission. Now there was some conditions for the mission, first of all her partner Nyao insisted that for her safety, she had to come with her in mega form. 2nd of all Katsura narrowly avoided having to pose as a waitress due to several of her qualifications including actually have served in a restaurant run by digimon. But no, this time Katsura would try things her way. That decision too had significant conditions tied to it, namely that this was a formal galla, something akin to what Alexis/Liliana would probably throw.
Had it been a year ago Katsura would not even have a clue how to pull off such an event but now she did. A week ago Katsura was particularly busy in the sewing club within Calysta's academy. She managed to create 2 extravagant kimonos for the occasion, one black with flowers for herself one brown for Nyao that matched Minervamon's skirt which she intended Nyao to wear over her regular armor.
Katsura's kimono looks normal but looks can be deceiving, several places including inside the sleeves, Katsura had sewed special pockets, some of which contained her various tools and others that were empty and easy to slip things in unnoticed.
After digivoling and dressing Nyao it was time to go to avoid getting late, Katsura had politely declined her ride in return for the coordinates of the lobby, with a special digi portal device this was all she needed. Katsura typed in the coordinates she had gotten on a piece of paper and launched a one-way digi-portal to the lobby of the hotel in Whitewater.
With 5 minutes to spare they walked through a crowd of dancing people and digimon until Yuu caught Nyao's eyes. Katsura and Nyao walked to Yuu and bowed politely to acknowledge their responsibility.

(Mana cameo credit of Yuu. Thank Yuu for the idea!)
Elliot didn't realize that going to formal galas could be so much work.
Frankly, he had thought that this would be easy. His human spirit, MagnaAngemon, seemed like he'd be perfect for the job. Long, flowing robes that seemed practically designed for ceremony? Check. An air of elegance and grace that would make him a hit on the dance floor for sure? Check. A chiseled physique and perfectly-styled hair? Check and check! Elliot figured this would be the easiest pre-mission preparation he had ever undergone in his entire life. It'd certainly be easier than preparing for the hell that was the D-Reaper, at least.
Imagine his surprise, then, when Mana basically barred him from leaving. Ever-so-politely, she had reminded Elliot that while his was fancy by human standards, he'd look exactly the same as any other MagnaAngemon Priest Mode who chose to show up. They may not have been the most common Digimon, but that didn't mean that Elliot would have to deal with the indignity of showing up wearing the same robes as someone else. It didn't help that shopping sprees were totally the most fun part of mission prep, and he was giving it all up for the sake of convenience.
Needless to say, the day before the mission was a pair of dorks sauntering around Terminus City like they owned the place. It turned out being backed by PROFIT opened a lot of doors when it came to the fancier things in life. In the process, Mana and Elliot had finally decided on something he could wear for the day. A striking dark blue tuxedo with black trim, perfectly contrasting MagnaAngemon's bright blonde hair, had been the duo's choice. It took a bit of creative tailoring to make room for MagnaAngemon's wings, all eight of them visible rather than the two that usually poked through his robes, but Terminus' tailors were basically prepared to help all humanoid Digimon and several non-humanoid ones at a moment's notice. A sharp black bow tie and a copy of MagnaAngemon's mitre, albeit dark blue instead of white, topped off the ensemble. Finally, a bright white corsage was pinned to his chest, adding a last angelic note to his little round of dress-up.
That was the outfit which Elliot approached the dropoff point in, already Digivolved up. He didn't want to risk turning back into his human self and messing up the suit, after all! He nodded politely to his fellow mission goers, a smile on his face. "My name is Elliot," he said, MagnaAngemon's even, melodic voice perfectly hiding the mixture of nerves and excitement that this mission was giving him. "It is a pleasure to meet you."
Having Yuu here helped. She was a familiar face, and one that Elliot knew he could trust in. Nobody could have Colin, Karin, and Mana's seals of approval without deserving that. "It is good to see you again, Yuu," he said, preparing himself to watch for her signed instructions. He wouldn't be as caught off guard by how quickly she signed as he was last time, darnit!
They undoubtedly had been punctual, if anything! Sitting in one of the many couches and somewhat relaxed, Yuu was there. She was sporting a formal, bright red kimono with an extremely elaborate floral pattern, her hair tied in a high ponytail with a ribbon. The dress itself seemed almost like a work of art, and it was undoubtedly ridiculously expensive, but not much else was to be expected from her, in all honesty.
Besides her, Kyo was sitting, legs crossed, gazing at the newcomers with a smile. Her Astamon form had foregone her classic clothing in favor of a simple tuxedo that seemed to be tailor-made to her size. She invited the group to sit before addressing them. "Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. It's good to have such a fine company for this night."
A small smile graced her face before she continued. "You're all been briefed on what this small mission consists. If there's anything you might want to ask about it, do it because it's now or never. We don't know how clear communications will be after this small reunion, so make it count."
Maybe she had been a little too harsh? Well, this situation was serious and Yuu expected great things from this group, so it was probably appropriate to display this tone. At least from their appearances alone, this group seemed to have risen to the occasion.
Amsel sat down when gestured to by their mission leader and her Digimon, her partner plopped down next to her waiting silently for the either Yuu or Astamon to speak. Their patience was rewarded Astamon spoke up and began to explain their situation and mission objective in less detail and giving them one last briefing on what was going on. When the Digimon had asked if they had any questions Dorumon thought for a moment.
He really didn't have any questions at the moment, it was a pretty self-explanatory mission. They had read the mission objective before coming here, so with that in mind, he decided that he had no questions and stayed silent. His tamer, on the other hand, was still thinking, like her partner she really didn't have many questions to ask. unlike her partner, she chuckled and shook her head no"nope! no questions here~" she said with a smile.
Amsel was excited, it was extremely hard for her to sit still but she managed. She wondered if the rest of her allies in this mission had any questions, it was always good to listen to others asking questions. They might have thought of something you hadn't.
Katsura sat down next to Amsel when gestured, Nyao followed up by walking behind Katsura and holded her arms around Katsura in an affectionately yet possessive manner, this could only been done if Nyao bent down while doing so. They both stared at Astamon waiting for her to speak. They didn't have to wait for a long time before they got instructions. The instructions were more or less basic from what they had expected though especially Nyao who was constantly concerned about Katsura's safety found the fine details extremely lacking. This motivation was what lead Nyao to speak up when promted to ask any questions now. "Do you have any ideas who is killing who? Anything at all? Locating an assassin in a place like this without as much as a lead is like searching for a nail in a haystack." "Are we going to fight a human?" "Probably." "Sigh I don't want to hurt anyone." "We can discuss that later, I'm sure miss Tsumura has more important things to do than debating philosophy."
Katsura fell back to her seat waiting for Astamon to finish and answer Nyao's question.

More familiar with Yuu than most of the others here, Elliot elected to sit next to her and turn this little lineup into a round table of sorts. It was rather apparent to him that he was the only one here without a pair of backup eyes. Amsel had Ru-Ru. The girl who didn't introduce herself had her Minervamon partner. Yu had Kyo. Unless Isaac got wind of what was going on and decided to pull off a Phantom of the Opera, Elliot would be stuck flying solo here. Nevertheless, he felt ready. It had been too long since he had properly helped out those in need, and while he was still somewhat scared of what he and the Digital World were capable of he knew that it was no excuse to keep being afraid.
Nevertheless, knowledge was power, and Elliot was ready to get a whole lot of power. "A few," he said, calmly.
"First, what is the gala's building like?" he asked. "Do you know if there are any high-security areas, or any blind spots we should be careful about walking through? Hidden entrances that we could potentially use as rendezvous points?" Already, Elliot was hoping to think of contingencies and fallbacks in case something went wrong. Who could blame him, though? He wasn't sure about Amsel, but compared to the other two he was clearly the weaker link here. Being capped in MagnaAngemon form was a major hindrance here, but frankly even if he could use Gargoylemon he didn't think he'd want to. Gargoylemon wouldn't be a good choice at all.
"Do you know any of the other guests there?" he followed up. "Or VIPs, or maybe even the host? It'd be good to get a sense of what audience we'll be facing on the way there." Who knows? Having the right friend in the right place could be a major difference-maker, especially if the group was in big trouble. At the same time, having a suspicious character to look after early on could be a huge hint in the right direction.
Finally, there was one last question on his mind. "Lastly, are you going to be there too?" he asked. "Or will you be waiting here, like mission control?"
Questions aside, Elliot actually seemed pretty relaxed about this. Maybe he was more excited to get back action than he had realized.
Everyone had (or not) brought some valid points; Kyo had been confident on being able to answer some of those, but it seemed like Yuu wanted to get the matter on her own hands... literally. As they began moving, the Astamon acted as interpreter.
["Regrettably, the only clues we have about the victim is that they are an important, powerful and potentially very rich being. But that's not saying much in this kind of situation, right? I really wish I could've gathered more intel about this, but it seems like whoever wanted to do this made a pretty good job at covering their tracks. Even if not as good as to prevent me from finding of this ploy, I'm afraid I've hit a dead end. That's why you're here."]
Even if Nyao did a pretty good work at swatting aside the humane side of this matter, Yuu had to admit that the murderer could be anybody and the same applied to the victim. Having to fight in order to protect and against humans could be a real possibility.
Hopefully, this group would be up for that ask. Now, moving onto Elliot's own questions, those seemed to be way more technical in nature. The blonde had to think for some moments before finally getting down to answering. ["Let's see, I'll address your points in order.
The building itself is Caritas. Are you acquainted with it? If not, it's a three-story nightclub; the first two levels are the nightclub itself while the third was where its owner used to live before banishing mysteriously. Maybe you heard about Beverly? If not, it doesn't matter. Security will hopefully be quite strong during this night because of this small gathering. The building itself is a pretty easy to sneak into and doesn't have many interesting features as far as I'm concerned, though. It's a simple nightclub, after all. So... I'd be careful about that; be on your guard while inside."]
She knew she wasn't being all that helpful, but this was her being as accurate as she could. ["I know a good portion of the people who are gonna be there, though. And if I gotta say if they have anything in common, it's probably different flavors of ambition; most of these people have more bits they could spend in a lifetime, and probably only want to add to that mountain. Some are nice, some are that much, but I'd risk saying that most aren't really in touch with the more... sensitive aspect of reality? You know how that saying goes..."]
The last point actually made her silently snicker. Even if he looked like a pretty sharp kid, she guessed that everyone could make a misstep. ["Of course we're going; the reason why you're going there is mostly that I have to tend to my own business at that place. Also, don't you think that it'd be a waste if Kyo and I dressed this nicely to end up not going to the party? In fact, our rides should be arriving... right now."]
Right on time, a couple of limousines parked at the hotel's entrance; one was notably bigger than the other, even if both seemed to be equally luxurious. ["Mine's the smaller one. Don't forget to have fun!"]
Amsel and Dorumon listened closely to the questions that their allies had asked, they were valid questions and worth knowing the answers to. Apparently, even the two that had hired them didn't know much about their target except that they were extremely rich and powerful. They had also answered about the security of ht nightclub and its floors, so they weren't really going into blind, even if they didn't know how their target looked like, she was sure that they would be able to find them. Dorumon made sure to file this information away as well, his tamer had self-control in these situations but it never hurt to keep things noted in case his tamer forgot something about the mission.
Finally came the question of how they were going to get there, Amsel expected them to walk to the nightclub, she had no problem with that she was born for such physical activity. What she didn't expect was that they were going to ride limousines to the nightclub, Amsel had never been in a limousine before, so it was understandable that she was practically vibrating with excitement. Her partner was just confused, they looked like any other car only longer, what was so special about them? before he had time to ponder this thought or even ask his partner Amsel grabbed the digimons paw and ran off to inspect the limousine"come on ru-ru!, this is so toll!!!" she shouted as she got close to the fancy car. The poor dorumon was dragged all the way to the limousine, slightly stumbling over his own feet.
Katsura and Nyao listened in on Astamon, although Nyao were initially satisfied, Katsura rubbed her shoulder. "Well at least that rules out the staff" "No Nyao, it doesn't." "Huh? Of course it does. Didn't Yuu just said it was powerful rich Liliana type?" "So what? A easy way to avoid getting blood on your hands is using others, have you forgot that? Besides there's no reason not to believe that someone would pose as a waitress to sneak in deadly poison." "Umm Katsura?" "What?" "You sound insane again. Too... experienced" "Oh sorry, I didn't know you weren't supposed to talk about those things. Speaking of which, can I see the guest list?" "You might as well give her a list of staff so we don't have any killer waitresses on the loose. The stupidest thing would be if a butler actually happen to be the assassin" Katsura shock her head at the direction this conversation has taken. Blind to how she had almost gave way too much information about the inner working of her surprisingly twisted mind. Nyao meanwhile tried to get the best out of both Katsura's and Yuu's points. There were great security yes, but could it be trusted? Who is Beverly and why did the owner abandon the apparently very profitable nightclub? Those were some of the questions Nyao would have liked getting answered but alas, the situation did not call for her to ask. Some things were better off finding out the old fashioned way. While Nyao was pondering a pair of limousines had arrived, one regular and one large.
Katsura looked at them with a sigh as if they were carrying nothing but homework assigned to her. "Sigh, can't I just use a portal? I don't feel comfortable being in those, they remind me of... Someone." "Just accept the gesture, a perk like this is a rarity. Besides interacting with others would do you good."
Nyao removed her arms from Katsura, gesture her to get up. Compared to Amsel, Katsura had been in one before and was treating this like a taxi trip to the annoyance of Nyao who just wanted Katsura to be happy.
Nyao held the door for Katsura and then squeezed herself in afterwards.
Inside Katsura turned to Amsel. "Hello, I'm Ise Katsura and this is my partner Nyao. Who are you?"

Thankfully, Yuu gave some rather great answers to the many questions that the group had. While Elliot figured that the target would've been a bit too obvious of a question to ask, establishing a lack of a lead was just as important as finding a lead. It meant that basically anyone here, barring Amsel, Yuu, himself, and the mysterious nameless girl, could've been the suspect. "We will do our best to keep an eye out," Elliot assured Yuu.
It seemed the mysterious girl had beaten him to the punch on this, though, considering the suspicions that she had about even the staff of the establishment. Her own Digimon seemed to think that she was insane, which was never a good sign. However, in this case insanity was also somewhat right. The rich and powerful had a lot of money to throw around, and they probably wouldn't want their own hands dirtied if there was a murder going on. He nodded grimly at the girl's brainstorming process. "You are right," Elliot said. "We can not rule anything out. Not with lives at stake."
While MagnaAngemon was a very subdued form, it was hard not to chuckle a little in amusement when asked about his familiarity with Caritas. After the long, drawn-out chase he and Colin had with some wrongdoers there, he knew quite a few of its ins and outs. I had aided Colin on some business there," he said, wondering briefly where that meant he fell on the pecking order. Was he, like, the deputy to the deputy? Or was he more of an independent contractor? Considering he had just been sitting there beforehand, maybe a helpful vigilante? "We probably passed through at least five exits during our chase there, so it should not be too hard remembering where I have been in the past."
Rich, ambitious, and disconnected from being very good to others. Yeah, this was definitely going to be a powder keg of a situation. If Elliot was keeping his eyes out before, now he might as well get his hands on some eyedrops and learn how to stop blinking.
At least he could count on one rich person of good character being there, since Yuu was along for the ride as well. "Hey, you never know," Elliot said. "This could have been an elaborate setup in which you are replaced with a body double, just in case of eavesdroppers." Holosuits would certainly make that really easy. Heck, how many limits were even on those? Could a Digital punching bag be reformatted to look like Yuu so a would-be murderer would waste their killing blow on it? Probably wouldn't make for very good party conversation, though.
Nevertheless, it seemed like the limos were here, so the time for questioning had passed. Elliot waved a brief farewell to Yuu, then made his way into the limo. He folded his wings inwards to avoid accidentally buffeting the others with them, then settled into his seat. "Well, here we go," Elliot said. "Anything on your minds? Or do you all feel ready?"
As the occupants ascended into their ride, they could see that the limousine was well-equipped, even if their travel would probably be short; comfortable seats, drinks, food and a screen of privacy that would keep both the driver's and the vehicle's occupants identities as a secret, at least until they reached their destination.
Caritas, on the other hand, was set up for what seemed to be the greatest party it ever had; bright lights shone near its entrance, making sure to stand out among the plethora of buildings that surrounded it. Limousines of different sizes stopped by, only to be expertly handled by a group of valets before the VIPs descended into the gala; some seemed to be the classic kind, like a couple of antylamons that had descended from a particularly large ride. Others, however, were more of the eccentric sort, like the Geckomon who descended in a colorful outfit, and that even had his trombone decorated with fancy jewelry. If there was any stereotypical kind of rich anyone could imagine, chances are that the participants of this mission could find them either entering the building, or inside after they had entered themselves.
However, there was one last thing they had to keep in mind before stepping out of the ride; in one of the limo's compartments, there were three small, button-like devices. Inconspicuous at plain sight, maybe this was what Yuu was talking about when she said they had the opportunity to remain in contact. It probably was some kind of communication device, even if how it was used wasn't all that obvious at plain sight.
Eventually, the car would grind to a halt, signaling that the three were there. Now it was their turn to act.
Amsel had been the first one to jump in, dragging her poor partner along with her. She had settled on a seat next to the widow and ru-ru sat down right next to her. Amsel was kicking her legs back and forth, it was obvious that she was extremely excited for the mission ahead, her partner was the complete opposite, he was much quieter and seemed to control himself more than his more energetic human partner. At this moment he was shyly fiddling with the collar of his outfit, trying his hardest to not look anyone in the eye.
As everyone else settled in Amsel was greeted by one of her mission allies had introduced herself and her partner to her and asked her name. Amsel looked at Katsura and Nyao blankly for a moment before a large friendly smile broke out on the energetic teens face. She wrapped an arm around her partner's shoulders and pulled him in for a half hug, the poor Dorumon was caught off guard and yelped as he was pulled by his tamer." it's nice to meet you!, my names Amsel D Rosa and this is my partner Ru-Ru!" she cheered. the Dorumon looked at the other human and Digimon with a shy smile and waved shyly before Asmel could question the pair further, it seemed that they had not only started moving but they had just arrived. Amsel let out a sad aw at the prospect of not getting the time to befriend Katsura and her partner. However, she was the first one in so that meant that she would be the last one to get out, maybe she could squeeze in one more question before the mission.
As Amsel grabbed a device making sure to put it on correctly she turned to Kat with a smile"aww just when we were getting to know each other!, oh well guess we can catch up later, that is if I survive!" she chuckled, much to the horror of her partner Digimon, he gave his human partner an exasperated look. It only made her laugh harder, casuing her partner to sign rapidly with his claws paws.
It seemed like the new boy was agreeing with Katsura's logic of why the staff couldn't be ruled out. Katsura promptly singled him out by pointing. "See? He agrees with me." Nyao wasn't blind to the fact that she didn't disagree with Katsura that much in the first place. Thus Nyao just shrugged.
Katsura was annoyed that her request for a guest list wasn't met. Maybe they didn't heard her? Well she can always ask a doorman on the way there. Inside the limousine the first flaw in Katsura's "studies" showed in that she looked confused at the food and equipment inside unaware that she was supposed to take the offer. Another curious thing was looking at Amsel and then on Katsura, where Amsel was looking at Katsura with a bright smile and much of happiness, Katsura was looking back at her with equal level of happiness while Nyao had her arm wrapped around Katsura. Katsura was an expert in matching the mood of her surroundings this time using Amsel as basis. What a weird sight it must have been to someone like Elliott, two teams more or less a mirror of each other.
"it's nice to meet you!, my names Amsel D Rosa and this is my partner Ru-Ru!" "It's nice to meet you too, he's so cute. Why Ru-ru though?" Katsura cheered back, while Nyao noticed the waving hand from her Duromon albeit he was clearly nervous. Nyao was mature and professional enough to politely wave back, not trying to push him out of his seemingly limited comfort zone. The travel was surprisingly short, Amsel had barely finished talking and was now going aww because of that.
Katsura noticed that Amsel had discovered a strange device.
Without waiting for the answer Katsura noticed that Amsel took the device and therefore so did Katsura assuming that this was expected behavior. Katsura listened to Amsel. "Sure we can!" The last thing that happened was Katsura and Nyao leaving the limo.
