K wasn't the first Digimon to be interested in the portal, and as she glanced, he gave a chuckle. The secret of that portal would remain for a while longer.
And as K spoke about bringing others around, the cat gave a grin. "Oh, please do. Data analysis is my specialty." More patients meant more revenue, too! It took a moment for K to accept her apparent age, and honestly, the fox-turned-wolf had several questions about the whole ordeal. Thankfully, her discomfort from before was starting to turn into interest and curiosity, making it much more comfortable for the Mikemon to explain.
In regards to her core? "As far as I could tell, the main core was green. But without further analysis, its hard to get a good grip of what your data is like that deep." Unlike K, Mikemon saw cores all the time, including his own, so he was quite comfortable talking about them. "And its quite a common phenomenon for loaded data to impact the main core, and change the resulting forms. Loading an entire Digimon worth of data and integrating it into your own, well... that's a lot of data to sort out."
Still, she seemed comfortable enough as a Shutmon! "Heh... well, the instinctual personality definitely varies between forms, but they're all built off the same core. Some Digimon just deal with it better than others. Honestly, if you're able to handle Shutmon this well, you'll be fine." Or at least, the cat assumed: Shutmon was essentially the exact opposite of Renamon!
The topic soon turned to her age, and as for Digimon as old as her? "Well, not anyone I personally know. You're actually the only one I've talked to who is older than me."
And, at last, K seemed ready to head off to Whitewater. With a nod, the Mikemon hoisted his bag back onto his shoulder. He was just about to mention that the train station was still working, when K mentioned that they could fly out to Whitewater. "Huh... alright, sure, why not?" He was having a cat-nap stolen from him, but he'd soon follow the Shutmon out, out into the outskirts of this burnt city.
In a few hours time, assuming no hiccups in the flight, the pair would arrive in the coastal city of Whitewater.

K felt her eyebrows raise as the mikemon stated that Data Analysis was his specialty. She didn't know that, in fact she didn't know much about any digimon that hadn't lived in this town. Or at least those ones that were under her so long ago.
"Didn't know that...."
She'd stroke her muzzle thoughtfully and stare at the mikemon. Green huh? She wondered what exactly that would indicate in comparison to other colors. She wanted to ask more but she needed to know more in general.
"What does green mean?"
There was a brief pause and she'd consider the fact of 'loading' an entire digimon into another core.. Well that would explain what he had seen earlier. She couldn't help but wonder though.. Would it have adverse effects past the fact her 'main' core was absolutely inert?
"that's good to hear I suppose. I just can't help but.. wonder."
She'd shrug a bit and then when the Mikemon admitted that he didn't know anyone older.. but then claimed that she was the only one that he knew to be older than he. It was surprising to say the least.
"...Huh. That's.. well. I suppose I shouldn't be all too surprised..."
She'd stand up and stretch, popping one of her shoulders as she spun her arm around. She'd raise her brows slightly when he seemed to almost suggest something but instead seemed to be okay with her flying themselves somewhere. Once they got to the burnt outskirts she'd glance back.
"I will find out who did this."
She'd mumble under her breath and pick up the mikemon. It was easy to carry him, considering the vast difference in size. She'd kick off from the ground and rather than fall back down to it.. She simply stayed in the air as long as she kept "stepping". So it didn't take much for her to get up to a decent height.. and then get them off to whitewater.
There wasn't any hiccups on the flight, though the Shutmon did slow down just a tad by the time they had arrived at whitewater. When she landed the digimon stretched, groaning softly.
"Good to know I can keep that up for so long..."

Well, this was definitely a unique way to fly. Held like a cat in the arms of this bladed ultimate, the Mikemon felt a small jolt each time that K took a step. A small glance over her hands confirmed that they were in the air, and rather than argue with it or mess up K's concentration, Doctor Mikemon simply went along with the rhythm. The landscape would change from forest to grasslands, then hills.
It took a while, but they would finally end up in Whitewater, the scent of the ocean having long graced their senses at this point. As K landed, the Mikemon slipped out of her arms, stretching out his own back. "Wait, you were guessing that you were able to make it all the way here?" He blinked, then shook his head with a chuckle. Right, now they were in his hometown! "Alright, come along this way." He would motion for her to follow, taking a turn away from the main street.
As for Mikemon's place of work, well, this was definitely quite a bit away from the main hospital. Away from the business of the main entertainment district, the entire block consisted of either residential places, or small necessary businesses. "Ah, here we go." From the outside, it was a rather unassuming building, a sign reading 'clinic' hanging just above the door. He would open it, allowing K to step into the waiting room. Across the help desk, a Stingmon idly read through the morning newspaper, the entire building dead-silent otherwise.
"... And good afternoon to you, too."
"Hm? Oh, welcome back." The insect folded the paper away, and gave a nod. "And she is-"
"Here for some tests. Oh, and you can cancel the lab submissions for tomorrow, too; we weren't able to get a proper sample." With that, the feline slipped his bag over the desk, and then would lead K into the back, to a proper observation room. Back here, it was about how she might expect: a chair for the patient, complete with a paper cover down the middle; a small computer, set at a desk for the Mikemon's height. Everything that was needed here would be well within reach, either in a drawer or just across the hall.
"Well, while we're here, anything else you want me to look into?" The cat gave a shrug.

"honestly I have never flown for a long distance. Most of it was short hops so.."
K would shrug a bit and follow after the Mikemon; there was no point on getting hung up over small details like that. If they had needed to she would of taken a break but.. She apparently had endurance enough for the flight over..
Her brows rose a bit however when the arrived at the 'clinic' she had to admit that the sign made it feel a little cheesy if not outright quaint. She'd tilt her head slightly when they entered in; she noted the dead silence and found herself frowning after a moment. In scope of things she had only met one other stingmon variant and they were.. Well. Problematic to say the least? She hoped this one was a little more manageable.
"Afternoon."
She'd greet them quietly and let Mikemon more or less take the wheel here. There wasn't much need to talk with this stingmon after all; it seemed to her that it was just the front desk clerk. She'd follow after the champion, quietly taking in everything. The room she was brought to was what you would expect from a practitioner of many kinds. At least in the medical field...
"I can't really think of anything that would need checking to be honest. Past the looking more at my data, is there anything else you'd recommend?"
The shutmon moved around the room for a brief period before settling on the chair. Even though it had been a long time since she had been in a proper clinic, she still knew it'd be best for her to take a seat...

Soon enough, the two of them would arrive in the observation room, and as quickly as the Mikemon fell into step, K took her seat. Her question was reasonable enough, something that made the cat chuckle. "If you feel fine, aside from your data, there's nothing I need to check. After all, you were fit enough to keep that 'flight' going all the way from the East..."
So, though he could go through the steps, the Mikemon decided to skip over those. He briefly reached under his desk, dragging out a small table to set between them, a seat for him to stand on, as well as a wire-metal stand, one that would hold his sphere in place between the two of them.Quietly, he set that up, setting his ruby sphere on the top, as well as placing a blank notepad and a small, hard case off to the right.
"Alright, I'm going to start by digging back in to look at the same depths I reached before. This scan will be intensive, and you'll likely feel your fur tingle, or your skin crawl. That's normal, but if anything else comes up, please let me know, alright?" With that, he put his gaze into the crystal again.
Once more, his vision would dive deep into K's data, those familiar and antique layers flashing by. Soon enough, he'd once more be at that 'unstable' layer, and slowly, he would press his gaze through...

"Well to be fair, it doesn't take much to even do that. It feels pretty damn natural to do that flying thing.."
K would scratch her head and watch the mikemon as he set up a wire metal stand; which was quickly filled by the familiar ruby sphere. Though this time he seemed to pull out a blank note pad. Her head tilted slightly when she noticed the small hard case, but she figured it was something else to help out with his.. 'viewing' of her data.
"All right. Hopefully nothing does come up..."
She'd sigh and lean back, staring up at the ceiling...
Within the view was somewhat simular before. But the core was still somewhat agitated, it seemed much more active than the initial foray. Though after a short time the agitation stopped completely. It was like whatever was there noticed the mikemon again. The green eye from earlier was no where to be seen this time around, as though it simply didn't wish it. Perhaps it was part of the agitation that was around earlier.
The agitation of the core was gone completely at this point. Upon the surface of the jumbled data a pair of piercing blue eyes stared back at the mikemon. It seemed a bit surprised considering how wide they were but they narrowed after a bit. A single word etched itself into the data near the pair of eyes...
Who?

Hopefully, nothing came up.
The Mikemon shared the Shutmon's sentiment, but gave no indication one way or the other as he entered his trance. K would know well at this point that it was hard to get a read on the Doctor when he was like this: to see so deep into this Digimon's data took an immense amount of focus, his eyes once more narrowing into thin slits. Layer after layer he would peer through, the tip of his pen resting atop the sketch-pad.
And once he broke through that wall once again, he hand started moving. Right now, the Mikemon was starting to scratch down a sketch of what he saw, both so that he could explain it better to K and so he could have a reference to refresh his memory on. Interestingly, the disturbance he had seen before had vanished entirely, after a momentary busyness scratched over his vision. Everything seemed more or less normal...
... But, something new came up. A pair of glowing blue eyes stared right back at the Mikemon, and for the first time, he was able to look back at them. They seemed angry, disturbed that someone was able to watch. A tap of Mikemon's claw hit the table, before he scribbled something down. It was definitely a word of some sort, but it would be in a language the Shutmon likely wouldn't have seen before.
Right now, though, the Mikemon had to be careful how to proceed. Seeing that mark, he paused. That single word would vanish, as the feline took gentle hold of the data around it. And with that, he processed his answer.
Her friend.
A moment later, the message would vanish, blown away in the wind. Would the eyes respond again?

K figured the best thing she could do is wait. The mikemon would likely have alot to work with or at least have alot on his plate. She didn't know what else could be wrong with her data; if anything was wrong at all past the bits he had mentioned. She couldn't see what he was scribbling down, but.. She didn't want to move and mess him up. So she deigned to wait and simply laid her hands on her chest. She got a chill however when Mikemon had responded to 'her'.
Deep within the eyes seemed a little frustrated to see the mikemon return so soon. The ancient core that had been inert before pulsed dimly and shifted. A brief image of what it was supposed to be flashing through the data before settling on those eyes again. It didn't have the strength to make itself in the digital world quite yet.. but at least here it could share the little bits it could. The answer mikemon provided however made the eyes react in mirth.
Friends? With her? What do you seek?
The eyes grew curious and the core pulsed again. The main core that had lay inert before whirred softly to life before sputtering out as the jumbled data shifted again. Forcing the eyes to vanish and re-appear moments later...
K upon the surface grunted softly as she felt her core do something weird. She visibly shuddered and brought a hand up to her head...

K's discomfort, though technically visible in the Mikemon's peripheral vision, was far outside the feline's line of focus. Between observing the data and sketching with his right hand, the Mikemon didn't want to lose the intensity in his gaze and dig back into the point where he was. If anything, the Shutmon should take it as a sign that there wasn't much to worry about...
Yet.
But the Mikemon's sketch, in-between writing words of the conversation with the eyes, would slowly grow with more and more detail. As the orb pulsed and light was given off, he'd scratch it down. As the eyes pulsed and looked into him, he captured those as well, even managing to capture a slight rupture in the unsettled data. More than anything, though, his gaze was set on those amused eyes, and the tone of those words.
What? Was it like she couldn't have friends? The data seemed unstable, the Mikemon scattering those words after recording them. His answer would be set to those eyes again.
She changed.
He didn't give much more detail than that, the words quickly vanishing to dust, replaced with a new set:
I want to know why.
His own curiosity caught the better of him, even as that core sputtered, vanished, and reappeared in his perception. Just was was this core?

K scratched her head and let out a smooth sigh. Mikemon didn't seem to be in a panic or anything, he seemed to be taking in more notes and the ilk. Just what was he seeing? She shifted just a bit and sat a bit more comfortably on the chair, remaining silent as the mikemon delved.
The eyes narrowed slowly as the mikemon communicated with it. It watched the words for a moment and then followed their movement as they blew into dust. It seemed irritated with the fact the other digimon wanted to know why. It pushed forward a response rather quickly...
Her core of red. It is powerful, it needed a stronger body to contain it. The digimon in question was unwilling; so it was brought to heel in a body that could work with the power it wielded. Piece by piece of course.
There was a brief pause and the eyes glanced to the side, as though gesturing for the mikemon to look. The other 'core' was simply just a loop that was attached to the 'main' core. But rather than just end in a single loop between two there was another line that breached into a third core.. and then back into the 'main' one.
Her core of blue was more willing. If not still troublesome. Her default state is strong enough to keep it content. But the red core is not willing to go back without a fight.
The data scrambled and two brief if not somewhat jumbled images of what looked to be a jesmon and examon appeared for a brief instant.
Both troublemakers in their own right. They needed to be contained. Which is why this anomaly occured.

For the next several minutes, K wouldn't see a notable change in the Mikemon's demeanor. Occasionally he'd add an image, or scribble something down in that coded language. If the Shutmon was bored or patient, the Mikemon figured, than this examination was going well.
Which was good: after all, who knew what kind of damage this errant core, so deep inside the Renamon's data, could cause? Thankfully, the core inside seemed willing enough to explain - so much so, that the Mikemon was now scratching words with a fury! He didn't expect such a detailed explanation to be written out in K's core, but soon enough, this 'green' voice would give him some clues. By its description, it seemed like this 'red' core, one of the Digimon that the ancient K had absorbed, had started to exert himself. K's form as a Renamon wasn't enough, so she instead took shape as a virus type.
Scratching the notes down, his focus soon turned onto the core again, scratching through the image. One big circle represented the main core, and two smaller circles around, the blue and red ones. Though K wouldn't know the meaning, he traced a circle tightly around each, like signalling they were all drawn together by one circular wire. Soon, his hand darted back to the words:
Red was unwilling. Blue was more willing, and the 'Blue' would have let her stay as a Renamon. The words themselves made sense... but something seemed off.
This green presence just called K an anomaly. With a careful breath, Mikemon focused once more, to ask:
Anomaly?
The words vanished, and were soon replaced:
Are you K?

There was no real outward change in what k was doing, though she did find herself leaning just a bit to kind of look at what he was writing. Seeing that it didn't make sense to her she'd shrug and lean back her eyes staring blankly at the ceiling.
The 'green' core didn't wait patiently for mikemon to scribble down everything. It seemed to grow frustrated as time passed by without anything from the digimon in question. Flickers of both red and blue tracing through the main core which pulsed in anger to force the other two in line.
Anomaly. Should not exist. Will become a problem given time. Should the anomaly gain the strength we have.
The eyes blinked and then seemed to nod as though confirming what it said. The word anomaly scratched itself out and was re-written several times over in a short amount of time. The last one being practically frantic before fading away.
No. I am not. They are not. We are not.
The eyes paused and seemed rather frustrated for a moment.
Anomaly should not of been. still isn't. It is in loop. So are we.
Another pause.
We only have one option. Break the loop. Which would remove the Anomaly. They cannot be allowed to maintain their influence.

What was this core?
What started as curiosity grew to a slight sense of fear, as the Mikemon pressed on his questions. In a way, it was already baffling: here he was, sitting and observing K's data, actually holding a mental conversation with the cores within. And hastily enough, the cores' answers etched their way in and out of the data. Over and over, the entities here expressed at least one common thought: they were not K. That in itself made little sense: these three cores represented the very center of K's data. That made little sense.
Unless...
... The eyes answered before he could even ask. For the first time, the diagnosis was clear to him, everything settling straight in his head. Outside, his eyes visibly widened, the Mikemon dropping his pen. Gritting his teeth, he returned one last note, directed at these spirits:
She is real! You cannot decide for her! For the first time, his own dark gaze settled inside, the rage of a long-forgotten lord of darkness crackling within. The Mikemon caught himself, however, as he clenched his eyes shut, tearing himself away from K's data.
Which was something he did a little too well: the chair he was sitting on wobbled, and toppled over, the cat and chair crashing on his side with a loud bang! "Ugh..." Rubbing his head, shaking out his fur, the Mikemon stayed on the floor for a moment.
For the first time, he wasn't sure how to break the news to his patient.

The eyes grew cold, they narrowed vastly at the anger that was brought to bear against them. There was no anger in them only certainty of what they had decided was the correct path.
It was decided long ago before her Gestation as a being. Pre-ordained. The only thing that would solve the loop without dispersing 'her' is an additional core of our strength or greater. Would-
Whatever else the data had said was cut off by the fact mikemon tore away from it. K jolted upright when the mikemon fell out of his chair the item in question providing a loud bang. She'd move to go to help him up, though it would be laughable in comparison considering she could quite easily lift him up and place him back into the chair.
"What's the matter? What happened?"
K looked visibly shaken like the mikemon had seen something that would no doubt end her as she knew it. There was an undertone of nervousness that she couldn't get rid of and she'd hesitate before inquiring...
"Are you all right?"
The shutmon felt strange, there was a deep anger somewhere inside of her she couldn't explain and that headache that she normally felt got MUCH worse. She'd gingerly rub the side of her head and she'd stare down at the mikemon after a few moments...

Of course K ran to his side. She was a good friend, after all, and seeing the Mikemon not immediately bounce back from the floor probably scared her.
These thoughts pinged through the Mikemon's head, but he wasn't quite sure why. Feeling the Shutmon's hand on his shoulder, the feline looked up towards K, looking into her eyes. There was a definite, obvious concern in his expression, as the Mikemon kept himself silent for a few moments. Wordlessly, he'd take K's hand, and pull himself back up onto his feet, muttering a small "Thanks" as he straightened out his fur. "... Don't worry about me, K. I... well..."
How could he describe it? The Mikemon clenched his eyes shut, gritting his teeth. "K. You're a dear friend, and from the moment I've met you, I've seen nothing but the straightforward, honest Digimon you are." He let that hang in the air, before he proceeded: "I've learned something about your data. Something that I think you should know, and something I will be more than willing to tell you. However?"
He gave a pause.
"If I tell you what I know now, your life may change as you know it. Say the word, and I'll never bring it up again - you can keep living the calm life you are, as a Shutmon."
Just why was he giving this choice? The Mikemon was absolutely serious in his tone. "What do you want to do?"
