Well, this was a day where Amelie maybe wouldn't regret her life choices. The amount of energy currently in the air was nothing but great, and the attack that would be unleashed definitely would've caused a fair bit of damage. At least if it weren't for... the claws that had dragged Siftermon underground. Phew.
Sure, she'd probably spend a fair bit of time trying to unearth herself but thus far, that had been quite the save. Was Gryz alright, though? That attack seemed to carry enough energy to seriously injure the WaruMonzaemon, if not even more.
The digimon would discover the outcome of what had happened just yet, and what would come in next soon enough. Thus far, everything seemed to be alright, but it wasn't like she could perceive the surface accurately while under the dense salt that constituted this desert.
For now, she just hoped that everyone was okay...

Things were not looking good. Amelie was buried, and Gryz, while formidable and capable of defending himself, was clearly running on an internal clock and might give out soon. This could no longer go on. This was a battle of attrition, and his colleagues would be seriously harmed if Solomon continued to let this happen. So, he rose, and turned to Ayumi.
"Something has to be done, please, aid me, lend me your strength."
"Eh? Like in the ruins?"
"More so, we must work in sync, you must put your faith into me."
Ayumi was baffled for only a second, then she smiled and nodded.
"Let's kick his ass!"
Tamer and Digimon rose, and began running towards the SkullBaluchimon
"Hey Bonerman, get ready to be schooled!"
The enemy turned around, still seething with anger.
"Quid? Qui audet!?"
As she ran, Ayumi raised her Digivice, pouring her heart, soul, and her unwavering belief into Solomon into it. The Monodramon jumped up and began to glow! His shape changed, limbs lengthening, snout lengthening, wings growing from his back, until he cast off his glow, revealing his digivolved form as Devidramon! The Digimon glared at SkullBaluchimon with it's blue eyes, which then glowed and made the fossil flinch.
"Blue Eye! Bow under your sins!"
The fossil gasped, then actually bowed down!
"Ooooh, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa..."
Devidramon then turned to Gryz.
"He's distracted, finish him off!"
With the chip damage that the corrupt field and Amelie's reflective shield had dealt to it, Solomon was hoping that another well-placed attack would finish the fossil off.

The attack did get tanked, but he was wondering how to move after this. He need to know first whether the corruption field really got eliminated or not, otherwise he might gonna have to risk to do full offensive instead of defensive like this. The moment the attack receded, he heard Solomon doing something. Something about sin? In that moment, he decided that it's the best time to strike. He also told him to attack, so attack he would!
Gryz whirled and punched the wall hard. The moment he did that, the wall immediately reacted, shattering and turning into spears made out of earth. He saw Devidramon in place of Monodramon and honestly is a bit surprised, but regardless, he decided to not pay full attention to it. Evolution happened. It's only hat he never thought someone as knightly and polite as Solomon could attain that sort of form. Gargoylemon he could understand, but definitely not Devidramon. The malefic looking doll roared and sent it toward the skull. aiming it to the core. With that, hopefully it could send the opponent to the village of beginning.

Even as she dug herself outta this mess, Siftermon could sense farther away the presence of something growing in power. Near Ayumi's position.
Could it be? If the digimon had a mouth, she'd beam with pride at what was happening some distance away. Solomon's shape was changing and growing, and the result was a digimon of the next level. Maybe the necessary power they needed to pull through?
For sure, as she emerged, the digimon noticed that the SkullBaluchimon was completely petrified, and that Gryz was about to finish him off, or that he would as soon as possible. As the WaruMonzaemon did his coup de grace, Siftermon sent a stream of fire in the same direction, hoping to provide an additional punch if it was needed to finally overpower their enemy.
With any hope that'd be... enough? In any case, Amy probably had to dig herself out completely. She was glad that she couldn't sense much while evolving mostly because... this had been a pretty salty experience.

Solomon's Blue Eye attack had completely frozen SkullBaluchimon's body. Even if it wanted, it could not dodge the immense punch -and- the fire attack. When Gryz's punch hit, it's ribcage split, revealing the fragile Digicore in full. It showed cracks, and Amelie's stream of fire delivered the final blow. It dissapated, the SkullBaluchimon's shape faded, and a Digitama was left behind, which soon teleported away, to the Village Of Beginnings. Solomon landed, and bowed.
"May you find a more peaceful and happier existence in the next life."
Yes, this was definitely still Solomon, despite the spookier looks.
Ayumi didn't care. She glomped her partner's leg, beaming with cheer and pride.
"You did it! You digivolved! This is so awesome! I knew you could do it!"
She then turned to Gryz and Amelie.
"And without you two we would have never succeeded in fighting it off! Thank you both so much!"

"With all that data untouched, I'm sure that he'll be a more powerful Digimon in next life," Gryz told the Devidramon. "May he find a better way to use that power, yes."
The bear's back unzipped and Tetsu came out from it, looking absolutely wet from sweats. Considering how how it was inside, that's an understandable effect. The boy quickly took out a water bottle from his infini-store and chugged it. It's also cold outside. Knowing well that cold and sweat doesn't work well together in such cold climate, he quickly acted and wipe everything away. "Ugh, seriously, that was the second time I did that, but gee, I sure would tip my hat on those guys who works with costumes. It's so hot..."
Hmmm, it was a rather bad time for sure. If it's just two of them, can they fight off that thing? Gryz understood that looks like he's been dealing with a creature a bit without much thought about the other parties.
"...This call for revision," the Waru Monzaemon told his partner.
"Yeah, a massive revision... and maybe a Digimental hunt."
"That's true," the bear muttered. "Perhaps we should start looking for a sparring partner. I'll post around if anyone wanted to help. But at least for now we should focus on task on hand. Ayumi, would you need more fossils to be hunted?" Gryz asked.

Well, that had been it. Slowly, but definitely, SkullBaluchimon's presence left the Shining Sea. Relaxing her body, Amelie undid the evolution; finally going back to be just a normal human.
She had to admit that having eyes again felt a little weird, but it wasn't something the brunette would mind; slowly, she began to tread back to where the camp was. That had been... quite the experience, hadn't it? And, while she felt like she had missed the most interesting bits about it, it wasn't like she couldn't get them with some questions! Maybe Ayumi would feel like doing it, later?
"Congrats for getting Solomon to the next level, way to go, Ayumi!" She shrugged and waved off her friend's thanks. "Gryz did most of the work. I was a nuisance at most."
Amy stared with a bit of puzzlement at both Tetsu and Gryz, not being sure what 'revision' and/or 'digimental hunt' entailed, but at the very least the two of them seemed to be pretty interested in the ramifications of this fight. That much was good to know.
Her gaze went back to Ayumi. "We probably won't have to deal with more stuff like this while we remain in this area so... what are our current plans? Do we keep with the excavation or just go home?"
For now, a story was already forming on her head.

Ayumi patted her partner's leg, still gleeful over his digivolution.
"Hehehehe, thanks Amy, but you should be proud of him, he did all the work!"
"But without your faith in me I would have never managed it."
"Ahahaha, oh you...~"
Ayumi was flustered by the praise she got from her partner.
The point brought up by Amy, and Tetsu's question were both valid. She stroked her chin in though.
"well, I would love to dig more, but the danger cannot be ignored, either...right, let's have a compromise! We'll use my gadget to find one more fossil, then dig that up and then go home! Sound good, everyone?"

"Not true, Lass," Gryz rebutted "If anything, I knew now that my moves could end up dangerous for the other if they doesn't have any moves that could attack from afar. The other way is to probably ride me, but... at the same time they'll probably still get affected by the attack either way. I need to learn how to apply my technique in more controlled way... but I have no idea if I could do it."
"I guess we need to find out either way... or do something to control the form or get a new one... but in order to do that, I guess we need to contain your corruption just to this one form to avoid problems..."
"...That makes sense."
"So I guess we'll need to go to see a corruption specialist," Tetsu would say. "But for now let's help Ayumi-nee, kay?"
"Right, that'll be our best course of action. Tell us where to dig, Lass. We'll do it."
"In that form?" Tetsu asked, but then he noticed that Gryz have problem in controlling his form, so he tended to stay in one form until all his energy is exhausted. "...Right, nevermind me."

Amelie wasn't going to deflect the praise coming her way, so instead, she just shrugged. She may have played a part in this engagement, but it was probably not a big one, or, at least, not as big as Solomon's or Gryz's. That much she was sure about.
But that didn't mean she couldn't indulge in some form of harmless teasing. as she patted Ayumi's and Solomon's head. Simultaneously. "Proud of you two! Definitely looks like you'll become an amazing team, given enough time! I already see there's a bright future ahead of you."
Not for much, however; didn't want to get them too flustered, right? Listening to her friend's idea, the brunette nodded. "Sure. Sounds like a fair compromise." She made a pause and seemed to think for a bit. "Do you mind if we talk for a bit once this small expedition is over? I want to try a thing, if you don't mind!"
Whatever the answer, it was time to get back to work. Time to unearth one last fossil!

Ayumi blushed and fumbled around with her fossil scanner as Amy praised her. Solomon gave an emotionless but sincere chuckle at it.
"E-e-e-eh, th-th-thanks, s-s-s-sure, after we're done you can try that thing!"
She quickly turned the scanner on, pointed it at the ground, and wandered around a bit. She didn't have to walk far, soon enough it pinged.
"Oh oh, there's one down here! Tetsu, please help me dig!"
Too excited to go and get the shovels, Ayumi actually began to dig with her bare hands. Hopefully the last fossil of the day will be a fascinating one to close out the venture!

Talk? Try? Well, Tetsu wondered if he's included in it or not. "Well, sure, but do you mean me and Gryz too?" he asked to make sure. However, the moment that Ayumi said something about that thing, Gryz's eyes suddenly opened slightly wider. What sort of 'this thing' that she's talking about? Well, he believed that it would be nothing harming to innocent mind of 11 years old kid, but he honestly quite amused at how easily it can be taken as an innuendo. Either that or he's slowly turning into a pervert.
He'll blame Bellamy he guess.
Tetsu quickly helped Ayumi, wondering why on earth she's using her hand, but he guessed that it's a shallow dig, so he slowly did the same. He had no idea before, but it was quite interesting to see how there are fossils in Digital World too. Today was proven to be quite productive, at least in having fun thing! For Tetsu, having fun is also being productive! But after this he guess he best to stay here to see if there are quartz waiting for him to unearth. Maybe he can do something with it, but for now...
What sort of fossil will come out?

Amelie couldn't avoid laughing at Ayumi's response. She wasn't sure why she was applying this kind of double standard, but that was fun anyway. "Don't worry. It'll be harmless! And yeah, you two can participate too if you want to; the more, the merrier, right?"
Said and done. For now, she'd just watch how Ayumi and Tetsu dug. Maybe they'd be lucky and find something interesting? That'd be pretty awesome. While they were doing that, though, the brunette brought out a notepad and began to scribble some notes there; details of the expedition, and rough sketches of the fossils they've found, among other things.
Truth was that the journey had been pretty exciting, and while she hadn't been able to experience the whole deal due to Driftermon's... peculiar senses, at least she was glad to have been part of it. Maybe others deserved to know about these marvelous findings too? Well, if Ayumi was okay with that, that was.
She had been the expedition's leader, after all.

Lucky for Ayumi, it was quite a shallow dig. And what came to light was...a stone slab, as long as she was tall, with the scrunched up fossil of what was clearly a dinosaur Digimon, albeit none that either one present knew. The impression of feathers on the Matrix were especially peculiar. Amazed, Ayumi immediately pointed her primitve Fossil Scanner at it to learn even a *bit* more. It read:

"W-w-w-wow! Look at this fossil! It's in such an amazing shape! And look! It has feathers! Ooooh, this is the best one yet!"
She hopped around the fossil like a hyperactive bunny in sheer glee. Solomon, who had de-digivolved by now, chuckled at this view.

Hmmm? Gryz wondered what sort of fun that the girl meant, but it wasn't all that important for now. The bear finally felt that his energy leaving him, and soon he shrunk back to his Bearmon form, plopping on his butt like one good bear. But at any rate, he's interested in what sort of thing that the girl have in her mind. For now, though, time to rehydrate himself and eat some little snacks. For the snacks, Gryz decided to eat some sandwich with black tea as the drink.
"Do you want some, Lass?" Gryz offered to Amelie some of his food. It's the standard BLT, except probably it should be called TLT instead, because rather than bacon, he have tonkatsu in it. the juicy meat seem to be really appealing to the Bearmon as he looked quite blissful as he ate it.
And they did found it! It's a slab! Tetsu wondered how heavy it is. He wanted to try lifting it of possible, but quickly the idea died as soon as it came, because this precious fossils after all... But to think that they managed to unearth two ancient Digimons remnant! This is very exciting!
"So with that done and all, what do you want to talk about?" Tetsu asked Amelie.
