Well, talk about embarrassing! If the digimon could blush, she'd probably be doing that right now! Yet, that feeling passed relatively quickly; Amelie's form could perceive Solomon's movement and found it pretty unnecessary. "Don't worry, no need to apologize! It's just that... I was just curious." And that curiosity hadn't vanished, honestly! "Guess that spirit users are an intriguing bunch, aren't they? When most of the humans are destined to be partnered with a digimon, being able to do the job yourself is a both... a boon and a curse, I feel."
Driftermon made a small pause, probably not wanting to dwell on that topic. "But that doesn't matter. What's your opinion on us? I haven't thought how digimon feel about humans shamelessly impersonating them and robbing their combat abilities." Even to humans, that was a valid question, and could probably tell that they probably weren't all that well-liked. Maybe that was the reason why there weren't many of them?
Not like Solomon could do any of that, though. Thus far, he has proving to be among the nicest digimons the brunette had ever met.

Nee-chan? That was a new one, but not a bad nickname! She pushed her glasses up the bridge of her nose with her index finger. "I cannot say for sure, but I have this theory: Digimon are data, yes? And the Digital World is a digital network at its core, right? So, it would only be logical for this network to contain remnants of data files: abandoned articles, pictures that were never used, etc! What if, and this is the point, what if this remnant data coalesces, but since this data was never actually used it does not coalesce into a *living* creature, but rather something already *dead*! A fossil! So these fossils would be the remains of remnant data trying to become Digimon but failing due to a lack of a "life spark"!" This theory could be total and utter bollocks, but Ayumi did like how it sounded.
As for Solomon, he shook his head again. "I do not consider this shameless impersonation. Rather, to me, it is a human being able to resonate with Digimon so well they can turn their digital body into one. To me, Spirit Users understand Digimon very well. And clearly value them a lot as they willingly turn their body into one."

"Oh, that's a fun theory, Lass," suddenly Gryz quipped. "That was something I never considered, but might be plausible. My other guess was that strong Digimons, or particularly strong one would leave their 'artifacts'. In these case, the bones. So the data of their body condensed into bones after their death, or in case of plant, perhaps something else, like tendrils, or at some disturbing moment, perhaps something else best not mentioned, but all in all, you can say that these bones are artifact without power."
Hmmm, everyone have their own theory. He guess none of them would be wrong, especially considering that the Digital World is still very mysterious to them. If they truly want to seek the 100% perfect answer then they need to ask the administrator of this world. However, what's the fun in that? They should probably just keep looking by themselves anyway.
"So how would you transport all of this?" Tetsu asked.

Amelie could feel that there was some kind of agitation between Tetsu and Ayumi; probably they were talking about something like their findings or a similar topic; her interest was piqued, but it wasn't like she could do anything in regards to it, except asking later what all the fuss was about. For now, it wasn't like that mattered all that much. Right now, Driftermon was in a conversation with Solomon, and despite the topic not being... the happiest out there, it was something she didn't mind tackling while conversing. Well, 'conversing'.
Or, well, somewhat. "That is a pretty noble definition. I can't say I am not flattered by it." However... "I don't believe I resonate with or understand this digimon particularly well. One could say this has been... trial and error, over and over again; take you can only imagine how it is for your perception to be altered heavily by the mere fact of evolving? It can be a little frightening at times. I appreciate that you appreciate it, though."
Not to say that... willingly? For some reason, she didn't like the sound of that word. But, for now, she wouldn't voice that opinion. It wasn't like she wanted to sound too glum.

Ayumi listened to Gryz's theory, then rubbed her chin. "Ohohooooo, that, too, is an excellent theory! I need to write this down to properly think about it later!" She pulled out a notebook and began writing into it. Upon hearing the question about transport, Ayumi winked and waved her pen about. "Hehehehe, don't worry, I got it all taken care of! Usako, our Team Guardian, is looking for empty plots in Terminus City as we speak, to build a little base there! We can contact her any time via Digilink and she'll organize a transport for us to pick things up!" She clapped the notebook shut, and then resumed unearthing the bones. She found more vertebrae, a fin on a piece of rock, and a metallic shell which seemed to have -cannons- growing out of it.
Solomon listened to Amelie explain. Seems that not every Spirit Digivolution was as smooth as Kan's. Still, he nodded, approached the Driftermon, and patted its side. Then, he thought again, clearly trying to speak to the Digimon directly. "Hey, Driftermon, Amelie is a really nice girl. Give her a chance, and trust her, I promise, you'll both benefit from it."

When hearing what Ayumi have to say, Tetsu rubbed his chin. So the theory is plausible? Then... the boy suddenly have some strange idea. "...Come to think of it, if bones and whatnots are artifact without power... could it mean that there could be a way to make an artifact that have effects outta these artifacts that got no effects?"
"...Huh, now that you said it, perhaps each one of these artifacts have no power of their own, but if they're united... it might be what artifacts are actually are. You know, the type that can be united into one single artifact with a great effect..."
"But what about Digimentals?" Tetsu asked.
"Digimentals, huh... Come to think of it, that's also weird... in a strange way like there exist two or four per person... that alone makes it sounds like the Digital World giving you personal artifact that only you can use... AFTER you're summoned... or BEFORE that..."
"...And there's this..." Tetsu took out the crest and tag from under his shirt, showing it.
"Ah right, that helped us to go to perfect level.... hmmm, it's so mysterious..."
But back to digging! Tetsu isn't sure that this could be a Tylomon anymore...
"...This looks kind of... Deckerdramon sort?" he offered his hypothesis.

For a second, Amelie's body turned to face Solomon. She grew uneasy; whatever the Monodramon was doing, the human wasn't sure it was a good idea. Then, she realized to an extent that he was trying to bring out the digimon 'behind' so to say, and that made her a feeling of dread to build up in the pits of her stomach.
Driftermon's own personality began to stir and resurface at Solomon's prompting. He'd feel like the otherwise tenuous, yet polite telepathic bond he had with Amy's spirit grew... darker and heavier if there was any way to describe it in some form.
Unless the digimon decided to cut the physical contact they were having, something he could frankly do at any moment, he'd progressively feel as if something closed into his mind. Almost as if it tried to... invade it, to say it in a way.
"Be... go... ne." The words that resonated in Solomon's mind this time were a lot more low-pitched and threatening. Definitely not Amelie who was talking there.
Didn't look like Driftermon was up for any civil conversation, honestly.

Ayumi nodded, and noted down the banter between Gryz and Tetsu. "Yes, yes, those are all amazing theories! I gotta test them all once this thing is back at the lab! Maybe we -can- extract some sort of artifact from its data! Speaking of which..." She pulled out her Digivice. "I modified my Super Scanner to allow me to get very rough information on the lifeform this used to be when I scan it! Just the name, attribute and level, but at least the scan will be instantaneous! Let's see..." She pointed the scanner at the fossil and watched as colourful shapes ran across the screen. Then, the info appeared, in strange, pixelated text:
N͡AM͟E:͝ MO͝S̶A.M̛ON͡ LE̶V̢EĻ: M̶EG͠À ͡AT̀T͠RIB̢ÙTE:̀ ͏DA̢TA
Huh, this was very strange.
Solomon closed his eyes and hissed at the strange sensation of this Digimon trying to invade his mind. Clearly, not a very social sort. Regardless, he kept the connection ust a little while longer to tell Driftermon the following: "I will. But if you ever change your mind, I will always have an open ear for you." Then, he removed the tendril from his head, plopping down in the salt and catching his breath.

Hm, looks like their little banter provided some insight. However, the more the older girl talk, the more that Tetsu thought that she's similar to a certain robot cat from the 22nd century... yeah, that certain robot cat with white pouch... The blue cat that hates mouse and rats.
Do**emon
"...Hmmm...? The result is already out? Huh, that's interesting, maybe--"
Suddenly, Gryz turned his head to the other side. The sudden change worried Tetsu a bit. Gryz raised his hand in the sign to tell him to stay calm and just continue with the chat, but to ready his Digivice in case of thing goes south. Of course he's looking toward where Solomon is. While his feet is dangling at the hole, at any sign of first strike he'll move in as Gryzmon. He hope that whatever going there not going to get ugly though... Something been worrying him about spirit users... Toki seem to be fortunate enough to met kind spirit, but what about Amelie...?
"...maybe it you can get the detailed info when we... you know, put the fossils together?" finally Tetsu spoke. He wondered if his small pause could alert the source of danger...

Solomon decided to sever the link at a correct time; while Driftermon didn't look like it would try to forcefully to restart it, the intentions the digimon had while they were connected had been... less than pure, so to say.
For a second, its body seemed to freeze; maybe there was some kind of struggle there? Or maybe two occupants of the same body were having a... 'conversation', so to say. In the end, Driftermon's body relaxed, finally adopting the slight mannerisms Amelie had displayed while in charge. For now, however, the digimon didn't show any intent of restarting contact with Solomon.
Was it due to just being afraid of the scene that had just transpired? Or there were other reasons? It wasn't an understatement to say that, right now, her mind was a bit of a mess; who would say a body switching occupants could be so... confusing.
On a happier note, the teenager found a silver lining of sorts at how animatedly Tetsu and Ayumi seemed to be talking. Maybe they had stumbled into a big discovery? That would be awesome.

Ayumi stopped digging to look where Tetsu and Gryz were looking. There was Solomon, sitting in the salt, holding his head. "Solomon! Are you alright??" "Yes, don't worry about me, I am fine, I just had a bout of headache." "Then you need to drink more, let me get you some water!" She climbed out of the hole to give her partner a bottle of water. This was when she first saw Driftermon. She was taken aback, and stared a bit. Then she shook her head, and put on her typical smile. "Oh, that's a nice form, lemme research that someday!" Her curiousity concerning the fossils was slightly larger than her curiousity towards Driftermon. Regardless, she descended back into the hole, unaware that Amelie couldn't hear her. Solomon shook his head again, then took a sip from the bottle, and regarded Driftermon for a bit. That Digimon was quite savage. He wondered just what made it so angry. If only he could help.
Back in the hole, Ayumi finished unearthing the Mosamon fossil. It was remarkably complete, seems the Digimon fell in one peace. What's more, the digging had made parts of other fossils poke out of the salt and earth around the hole. A sheen of dirty gold in the southwestern corner, a tooth sticking out of the wall. It seems the digging work was not yet done!

Tetsu and Gryz become slightly less alarmed after what Solomon said. Gryz... wondered if it's just an attempt to shoo off any thoughts that might come to his head about problem the lass might have with her spirit. Hmmm... while Ayumi gave the partner the water bottle, Gryz and Tetsu instead opted to be in the hole and try to see if there are more objects here.
"...Hmmm... There are seem more and more fossils popping out," Tetsu commented. Right afterward, Ayumi gets back inside the hole and assembled it. It looked great if he have to say. Make him wonder if there is a way to revive this mon or something...
Either way, it's seem that their digging just began.
"...Say, is it just me or this felt like... a puzzle? Like, maybe they call each other when they're completed?" Tetsu commented, referring to the newly poking out bones and whatnots.

The sensation of being surrounded by others, yet not being able to truly understand any of them was a bit of an… overwhelming sensation, as ironic as that was.
Amelie was mildly aware of the events that had unfolded after that 'incident’ with Solomon. Ayumi had rushed towards him and the two of them had exchanged some words; maybe he had told her the truth of how Driftermon had managed to almost damage his mind? Some dread began to well up in the back of her mind at the thought.
The fact that Ayumi regarded her next wasn't of much assurance, even though she didn't look alarmed or seemed to be scolding her. A relief, maybe? She couldn't really know.
Soon enough, everyone went back to their previous position, and seemingly back to normal.
It was fitting only, that Driftermon's upper tendril went back to the salty ground, slowly resuming with the cryptic shape she had been tracing before her 'conversation' with Solomon had began.

Ayumi looked up from her dig, and grinned. "Of course it's like a puzzle! That's what fossils are all about! Find the parts, and assemble it! As for reviving them, well, I had planned on that, too! Once we have our base, I wanna build a machine that reads the data of the fossils and restores them to life!" Careful not to disturb the first fossil, Ayumi began to dig out the golden object. It soon turned out to be a large -tooth-.
After sating his thirst, Solomon watched the horizon. He didn't want to try and talk with Amelie again, lest Driftermon objected. He didn't want to disturb him, nor did he want Amelie to suffer under that. Pulling his attention away from her did alert him to small fountains of salt emerging nearby. Hmmm, curious. He gently poked Amelie to point at them.

"is that a canine?" Tetsu asked, examining the huge thing. Gryz meanwhile wondered if it's a good idea to revive the fossils. In his head, injecting them with the right data might be the way, but... to do that... at times it's needed for them to solidify data from the specific field. In the case of this Digimon, from Digimon of either Metal Empire or Deep Savers huh... or maybe both...? But to gain such data accurately... how? Do they need to sacrifice other Digimon for it? Or there is another way?
"...Well at any rate, good luck for ya on the reviving the 'mon, Nee-chan," Tetsu told Ayumi while continuing to dig on other spots that might have any sign.
"...By the way, if it's tooth, could it be that it belonged to something like Plesiomon? Or maybe something similar to that?"
"Ah there are this huge shark in real world, prehistoric one... if I heard it correctly, it was called something like Megalodon?"
...Tetsu cannot help but to think that the appearance of such Digimon might be caused by many Jaws reference in the internet.
