The Crucible: Part 1 [Mission] [Akemi|E&E|Kath|Sasha]

Akemi looked up and stared at Jazz incredulously. "Should...what?" She briefly turned red before her D-Terminal startled her with a beep! She opted to show the ChoHakkaimon her screen, Evie's reply being able to be summed up as follows.
"Blocks that represent our doors, and...Katherine's and Sasha's are marked as culprit and victim. Huh...I don't think we can intervene, can we?" Akemi mused. She then typed up a reply to Evie--They were okay, and had no contact with anyone aside from Shisei.
"Also, I'm not cute, I-I'm menacing. G-Get it right..."
"I'd probably say the door cracking was the event here." The wolf replied. "That, or the bow had already been there in the first place. She wouldn't have been able to get it if she were shackled...Speaking of which? I really don't know if I can break you out. Actually, no. Not if I -can-. More...Should I? That might cause something to happen." The Sangloupmon explained.
"And I don't want to end up responsible for getting you hurt. Regardless...We do need to just wait and see." Anzu said as she started to circle Katherine's chair. Did it even have anywhere she could try biting to set the girl free?

It was rather hard not to notice the sudden surge of wind pushing against Sasha as she came closer to grab the bow. Sure, it was not enough to make her struggle in the slightest, but it was impossible to ignore. What really made the girl suddenly stop dead in her tracks came when she actually grabbed the bow: the wind came to a stop, but a more powerful and notable feeling suddenly manifested within her. A sudden, irrational and irresistible desire to run out of there, to leave everything and everyone behind her while she left for...somewhere, anywhere that wasn't here.
The feeling came and went equally as fast, but it was strong enough to leave the girl...stumpted, almost shivering with the sudden shock of it all, as if she had been dunked with a bucket filled with ice. The shock of it was so great she almost missed completely when the mysterious voice chimed in again, informing her that she could now proceed forward.
She didn't proceed forward just yet however, but rather uttered a single, rather unsure word.
"S-sieg...?" She called out for her spirit in a rather plain, yet incredibly unsure tone. She didn't say anything else, but the meaning was clear as water. She just needed confirmation that he, the spirit now deeply connected with her, had also felt...that. That she wasn't completely alone in feeling how she felt. That she wasn't completely on her own. "Don't worry, I felt that too." The voice of the Gladimon rang in her head, the calm and collected tone of the long death knight reassuring her as best as he could. "Be careful Sasha, whoever is in charge of this place seems to enjoy messing with guests. Steel yourself, don't let it get to you."
Sasha almost let out a bittersweet chuckle at this answer. Steel yourself? Easier said than done! Fighting a giant dinosaur seemed like a more desirable test than whatever was in store for her. It would have at least been a lot less mentally taxing. At any rate, staying in one place questioning things would only be detrimental for the mission (and her mental health) so she decided to turn her attention to something else.
The blonde looked at the odd weapon in her hand, taking note of the faint breeze that came from it. She had held a bow a grand total of once before today, around ten years ago when her father made her participate in an archery club. It lasted for about a week before she left after threatening with her training bow. another kid that had been badmouthing her. It had left enough of an impression on her that she still somewhat remembered the proper stance and way she was supposed to hold the bow.
And even if she didn't quite knew how to use it, it almost felt as if that really didn't matter much. Just holding the weapon in her hands gave off an almost exhilarating feeling of raw power, of strong winds and tempests.
Furthermore...she felt this vague tingling in the back of her brain, something pushing her forward, to at least give the recently acquired tool a try. And the now suddenly cracked and worn door in front of her looked like the perfect target to practice.
Firmly planting her feet on the ground, she drew the bow's string close to her face while taking a deep breath. Only now it occured to her that the bow didn't have any arrows to speak off...but then again, this was the digital world, and this was a Wind Bow. Proper arrows were probably optional. She aimed it at the door, as if she were readying an invisible arrow in the hand tensing the string. She calmly exhaled, and her hand let go of the bowstring...

Sasha's instincts were, just as expected, on point. As the bow's string was drawn, an ethereal-looking arrow began to form, ready to be a fired at will. And it did. The projectile whistled through the air and squarely reached its target. The result? A loud crash, almost as if a whirlwind had its way with the deteriorated wall; to say the least, not much besides debris was left in the wake of the attack. That had been pretty strong. Stronger than any kind of energy that Sasha had harnessed, even in her digimon forms. Maybe she could get used to that? Especially because the blonde felt that wasn't the artifact's full potential. Could it be that it held more secrets? One could almost say that those were being whispered on the young adult's ear. For now, however, she was out of the henhouse! The next chamber was utterly massive. Rectangular in shape, and going some good two-hundred meters ahead, the same white stone made the totality of the place's surfaces, eventually ascending into a set of stairs. At least four sets of crates and barrels were haphazardly placed there; maybe there would be something of interest there? Or maybe that would result in a big waste of time? There was only one way to find out. Or maybe, there wasn't and they were meant to be a hideout of sorts. Soon, it became apparent that Sasha wasn't the only being present. The sound of metallic steps were more than revealing. Somebody or something with a relatively small build for digimon standards and that donned a dark gray armor that seemed to walk over the extension of the chamber, silently patrolling it. It carried a tower shield slightly taller than the blonde on its left hand, and a halberd that was easily twice as taller than her. At least for now, it didn't seem aware of the newcomer. What about Katherine and Anzu? They found themselves in a pretty interesting spot. As soon as the wall was broken, the previously faded out Event recovered its previous color, signaling that it could be chosen as an option once again. Shackles, on the other side... disappeared completely from the screen. Go figure, those wouldn't be necessary for now. Instead, the screen would show an interesting message. S E T P A R A M E T E R S

“Menacing?” Almost as if she couldn’t avoid it, Jazz snickered at Akemi’s comment. Then, a serious countenance appeared on her face again as she mused about what Evie had said.
“Culprit and victim…”
Whatever was going on in there, this was probably a very important piece of information. But… were Katherine and Sasha aware of it? That was the most important part, no doubt.
“The Human-Digimon comm…” She and Katherine had used it when they were fighting at Tayichi’Tai. Her tamer should be able to hear her through her digivice but… did she still have her digivice on her? Would the message even get there? Time to find out.
Jazz put her hand at the right side of her head and spoke.
“Jasso, can you hear me?”
Would this work?
While Anzu circled around Katherine’s chair, apparently looking for a weak spot in the structure to try and free the girl, something important happened. Sasha had decided to shoot the door with her bow. That shot had completely obliterated it. An audible gasp escaped Katherine as her eyes widened upon the sight.
“A-Amazing.” The Spaniard managed to utter. Even if she wasn’t there, next to Sasha, she could feel the strength of this weapon by just looking at it go. It wasn’t only the destruction it had caused; she could tell this artifact was pure power. Would this thing be enough to get Sasha out of here? The Russian had a very important asset on her right now, and that much couldn’t be denied.
A new room, a new layout, and a definitely more elaborated scenario. The most interesting part? There was another being inside Sasha’s chamber! And it seemed to be looking for intruders.
“Is that a digimon?” Katherine asked. Even if she uttered this question without taking her eyes off the screen, it was clear it had been thrown Anzu’s way.
In any case, it was probably time to give up on breaking the green-eyed free, and time to focus on the screen again, a new message had appeared and some things had changed. By this point, there was no doubt everything they were doing had an effect on what they were seeing. But… what was the point of all of this?
“Parameters…”
Katherine’s theory kept gaining strength. However, Anzu was key to keep it afloat.
“Anzu.” She addressed the Sangloupmon once again. “You mentioned videogames, earlier, right?” Time to start to actually build something. “I think this is something akin to those. So I definitely think you understand what’s going on a lot better than myself.” A pause. Katherine kept studying the whole scenario.
“Since we got here, I’ve been thinking we must have an objective. Judging by what’s been happening so far, I’d say that objective was either getting Mrs. Robinson out of there or… actually avoiding she gets out.” Did this sound too crazy? Very likely. But it also made sense. “Now that I see these ‘parameters’ and judging by those figures… my first thought was that this would strengthen Mrs. Robinson. However, can we actually make her stronger or smarter? That doesn’t make much sense. If we could, that would probably mean this is not the real Mrs. Robinson.” So that theory had quickly been starched.
“I think these parameters are given so we can make that thing walking around the chamber stronger. And if they’re giving us the chance of making that thing stronger is probably because… we must stop Mrs. Robinson from getting out of there.” And the truth will… set you free?
“I know this is a long shot and there is still not enough evidence to sustain this theory.” The girl lowered her gaze, trying to think some more. “But I also think it’s better to make any move with an objective in mind. I think moving the wrong way is better than going nowhere.” That was an important part of what Undying Curiosity meant, after all.
“I would like to know your opinion regarding all of this.” Katherine’s green eyes went to Anzu. “And I also would like you to distribute those points according to what you think it's best.” It was time to trust in Akemi’s partner. This was a job for someone who had a mere idea of how these games worked, and that certainly was not Katherine.

"Yeah. Menacing." Akemi huffed, before she tilted her head at Jazz. "Do you think that'll work? If their D-terminals can't receive messages, I don't know if that comm's going to work either or do the same thing..." This was frustrating. There was very literally not a lot that they could do here. "If...If you can reach her, tell her I'm okay. I think she'd be happy to hear that..." "Holy shit, Katherine, she just shot a door down." Anzu uttered, she had looked up to see Sasha do just that. The wolf looked Katherine in the eyes as she explained what she was rather certain their objective had been. Either get Sasha out or ensure she doesn't get out.
With the numbers popping up? Yeah, things had more been pointing towards the latter than the former. "Seems more like we need to get her killed. This bit...looks like something out of a game with character creation. Except it's just setting parameters. I have some idea on how to arrange this, one moment." The wolf wandered towards the screen and began to input changes in the parameters.
In order of the symbols shown? The stats would read as follows.
2. 2. 4. 3.
"Oh, we can choose event again...I feel like we should wait a bit before we press it, though. See if the thing notices her...This is kind of nauseating. I want her to win but we can't let her, can we...?"

While the blonde was certainly expecting the bow to be more than what it seemed at a glance, she didn't expect it to...well, for lack of a better term, pack such a punch, the invisible projectile not destroying but rather obliterating the decayed door appart with a loud boom.
She stood there, eyes wide open for a good second or two, before looking down at the seemingly unnasuming weapon, smiling. She had certainly hit the jackpot in the end. And even so she could somehow tell this was but a fraction of what the bow was capable off. How could she tell? Call it intuition, or perhaps a voice whispering on her ear. Regardless, that knowledge only made her smile widen.
"Alright, I am never letting go of you, lil' bow." She remarked happily as she made her way through the destroyed door.
Soon after she'd find herself at the entrance of another chamber, made out of the same stone like material as the entrance to the "Temple".
Despite the massive size of the chamber, there was relatively little worthy of note inside it, other than the stairs leading up on the other end of the room, as well as an assortment of crates and barrels were really the only details of notice in this room. Or at least she thought so initially. It didn't last long as her eyes suddenly caught the glimpse of a distinctly armored figure on the other end of the room.
Instinctually (and partially aided by the spirit practically yelling into her ear to do so) she croched behind one of the many wooden crates, her petite frame being relatively well hidden by them. The russian dared not to take even a quick peek from her hiding spot, firmly grasping the bow in her hands whilst biting her lip, trying to assess the situation. She didn't get a good enough glimpse at whatever was in the room with her, but she was able to see the large shield and the even larger halberd that digimon carried. It was hard not to, considering the latter was significantl taller than her.
Luckily for Sasha, it seemed the guard had yet to notice her presence, which was quite a feat considering she hadn't been exactly silent when taking care of that door a minute ago. Judging by the rhytmic sounds of it's metallic boots going back and forth made it clear this thing was patrolling the place. Was there any way to go around that thing without it noticing? It sure didn't seem likely, there was too much distance between the crates and the stairs for her to cover in such a short time span.
That thing was armed, and so was she. For all intents and purposes she was the intruder in the enemy's turf, so if she was seen she would probably end up having to fight. In the end, she figured it was better to risk drawing the first blood while she had the element of surprise. She was still in a pretty bad mood over the whole shackle thing, so she was more than willing to fight dirty to vent out her frustration.
Silently breathing in she firmly grabbed the Wind Bow, one hand carefully drawing the string as silently as possible. But...she didn't shoot right away however, or even got out of cover to aim for her target. Rather she kept crouched behind the crates, silently counting to ten, the bow's string tensed while she could feel a current of air taking form in it.
If her gut feeling was right, this bow was capable of even greater power than just a moment ago, so logically if she let it gather power for a moment before firing it should make the ensuing shot stronger? That's how these things worked, right? She knew that there was a very real chance she was thinking too much in..."videogame terms", as it were, and it was a risk that maybe wouldn't pay off. But if she was right she would be able to finish this fight before it even started...

Regrettably for everyone involved, the other side of the human-digimon comm was little more than static. Was that one of the many properties of the city? Considering the D-Terminal communications had been partially blocked as well, that was very likely.
What would happen then, to Akemi and Jazz? Despite the apparent tranquility and solitude of the so-called π-room, things were going to going to change, and rather quickly while at it! Anyone still present in the initial chambers would notice that π began to glow brightly, adopting an intense yellow hue.
The same color corresponding at the particles that suddenly had begun swirling around Akemi. How had they appeared? What was their origin? For now, it just seemed to be yellow dust that for some reason was orbiting the petite girl. At first calmly, but progressively becoming more violent and quicker. A literal whirlwind enveloped her for a second... and then she disappeared. The reason for that event would be unveiled by the group currently playing the role of culprit. The console was quick to reveal the nature of the events that had transpired.
P A R A M E T E R I N P U T C O M P L E T E

U P D A T I N G P A T T E R N D A T A . . .
U P D A T E C O M P L E T E
E N C O U N T E R C R E A T E D
While that message was displayed on the screen, and as soon as it finished, the command COMM would fade out, leaving EVENT as the only choice for now.
Would Anzu dare to select it? There wasn't much to say about Sasha's situation; interestingly enough, she was the one who had it the easiest at the moment, twins notwithstanding. As an interesting detail, as soon as she entered the new chamber, the blonde would begin to hear a faint sound of water being poured somewhere at the distance. It was a very weak, yet somehow she could perceive it above the loud clatter of the metallic armor. Was it important enough, or just a momentary distraction while she got her weapon ready?
No way to know for now.
Regarding her situation, though! A small knapsack that had been blocked by the crate's corner came into Sasha's vision. Tightly closed, yet still as deteriorated as pretty much everything in the chamber, it stood there. Maybe there would be anything interesting inside?
Whether she decided to pick it up or open it or not, the bow's influence made itself rather clear on her mind again. Louder than before, the weapon manifested its discomfort at being stuck in a single place. Why was Sasha not moving? Why wasn't she escaping? A vision of a blue sky and open field refused to flee her mind. It urged her to run away. It'd take a while for the Russian to rein herself, at least if the plan was to remain hidden from the armor's sight.
The armor's steps would draw closer and closer, yet, somehow, from one moment to the next, they felt different. They weren't as loud, almost as if... the patroller had gotten smaller, somehow? A quick peek would reveal a very different body type, or at least the parts not hidden behind the shield that right now it seemed to cover an even bigger portion of the being's body. Just minor details could be observed, including the tip of their helmet...
Helmet? Right now, it looked more like a fancy metal hat, for some reason. Akemi's thoughts were hazy, yet not devoid of purpose. Where was she? How long had she been patrolling this chamber? She wasn't sure, but she knew she had to keep watch. It was her duty, right? To deal with any intruders trying to breach into the master's sanctum. Her halberd had ended hundreds of intruders to bits, and her shield had repelled an equal amount of heathens. She had dutifully served them for millennia, and would continue to do so for as much time as her services were required. —Wind Bow [Legendary Artifact] Cannot be used by digimon. Akemi’s words were not meant as a joke. Jazz was very much aware of that. Yet still, she couldn’t help but giggle a little. “I’m sure she would. Sadly, I can’t reach her.” The pig-girl confessed, letting out a sigh. “… There’s something I’ve been meaning to tell you.” She broke a silence that had lasted for around five seconds. When she raised her gaze to actually look at her peer, she gasped.
What in the world was that?
“A-Akemi!” Jazz quickly stood up, trying to grab the human. But she was gone.
Where to? Well, Katherine and Anzu would be the witnesses of that.
Subject π-1? It didn’t take long for Katherine to connect the dots. Π was the figure labeled at the door Akemi and Jazz entered! That could not mean good news.
Soon enough, they’d discover… it didn’t. Katherine had wondered for some seconds which of the two had this computer ‘chosen’ and she would meet the answer soon enough. Akemi was now the soldier avoiding any trespassers to go beyond this chamber. Katherine’s theory kept gaining strength. This time, in a horrible way, sadly.
What definitely made the green-eyed angry was something that probably would easily pass for anyone else. The ‘Comm’ command had disappeared. Just now, when another friend of them was involved in this madness. Just when anyone could try stopping any of the two. Whoever was behind all of this, they were playing with them. They wanted them to hurt each other. And it was very frustrating.
Once again, Amelie’s words maintained the Spaniard’s head in the game.
‘More than a physical affair, the next settlement will test how sharp your minds are.’
Yes. That meant exactly what she had said. This was a test of sharpness. That meant they had to keep themselves together in order to succeed. Taking a brief space of time to breathe, Katherine closed her eyes. Once she was done, she decided to think about their next move. Right now, her mind was waggling between two possible outcomes. It remained to be seen if the development of the situation could make her lean towards one of the two. For now, she was going to play her cards on both boards.
“Did you hear that?” She asked Anzu. “Sounds like… water. Keep your eyes open. Let’s try to find out where’s that sound coming from.” Maybe that could be of help, right? Katherine's eyes would scan the whole layout of the chamber looking for that leak of water.
Maybe the right way to go was to give Akemi the assets to win this fight. In order to do so, they’d need to gain more influence in the playground.
“I’m ready for another event. Are you?”

"That's more than a little troubling..." Akemi noted. They were completely cut off from a lot of their associates and stuck in a room until something happened. "Something you've been wanting to tell me? What c--" She cut herself off as she looked down at herself. "I don't...wha--"
Those were her final words before she had disappeared. Where did she go? What happened to her?
Let's find out... Anzu could see exactly which door was denoted, and it was the one with her partner behind it. "...Uh oh." She murmured, uncharacteristically quiet. She recognized the figure that quickly seemed to get far smaller than it had initially been. Did it just turn into Akemi...?
"...Keep your eyes peeled for the leak, it might be close by on her end." The wolf noted. "I am uncertain if selecting event this time will disrupt...the water, but..." She went to press event once more. What would occur then? "...I don't like any of this, Kath. It's so...nerve-wracking..."
The sentry was confused at how long she had been here, but she had to obey. She had to keep watch. The patrolman, hazy as her thoughts were, continued her vigil around the room, beginning to near the crates that Sasha was hiding behind...What would she find there?

As Sasha kept as quiet as she could behind the crates, the bow in her hand growing more and more restless as it kept gathering power, she noticed something else in her near vicinity. Luckily it wasn't yet another enemy, but rather a small knapsack. Could there be anything of value there? Probably worth a look after she was done with this guard, no doubt.
Yet as she kept preparing her strike, that same concerning feeling from before came back. Visions in her head bombarded her senses, practically screaming out at her, making the Russian simply want to...run.
Sasha didn't want to take part in these twisted trials and games anymore. She just wanted to go, leave everything and everyone behind and...
Only now she realized just how all over the place her thoughts were. What was happening to her? Could she possibly be breaking down under the stress? Or was it the temple getting to her? She had to bite her tongue down in an effort to think of something other than that.
To make matters worse and far more mentally taxing, she could now hear the metallic steps growing closer and closer to her position! There was no way she was staying hidden for any longer, she had to take action now.
Luckily for her at this range she probably wouldn't have to aim much to hit her mark, specially considering how strong this bow could be, so after aiming her weapon in the general direction of the armored foe she'd gently let go of the string, and let the wind bow do it's magic for her.
Yet...in the split second she did so, she couldn't help but notice something odd about the guard that she hadn't seen before. Small things, like the general size of it and how it almost looked like it was wearing a...disturbingly familiar looking metal hat... Regardless, as soon as she let go of the string, she'd start quickly reaching for the knapsack, hoping that either that would be enough to get rid of the guard...or at least disorient them long enough for her to reach for the sack.

All those events seemed to happen in a flash. The guardian marching to investigate Sasha's location, the blonde letting go of the bow's string in the wake of her hiding place being discovered and finally, the window she took to pick an item that had been brought to her attention. So, what was the result?
The arrow sailed by, its force being nothing less than utterly monstruous. It hit Akemi's armored body head-on, causing her to stagger back. It'd take her a couple of seconds to recover, but beside that, she hadn't received a significant amount of damage; at least for now, she was perfectly capable of dealing with the new threat in a way fitting for anyone who trespassed the master's sanctum.
However, those precious seconds would let Sasha reach the knapsack and open it. What was inside? Not very becoming of classical rp settings, but... what was inside was nothing more and nothing less than an earpiece. Maybe she would be able to use it to communicate with someone else? The question remained as 'who?', however.
Hopefully she wouldn't mind waiting a, bit for the answer; whether she decided to wear the device or not, a bright, blinding light would flood the current chamber. Only after visibility returned, the changes could be appreciated; the chamber was white and clean, almost as if it had been recently constructed. Likewise, all the barrels and crates that had littered the floor weren't present anymore.
In other words, the arena was now clean of any obstacles to protect Sasha from... somebody who didn't really want her alive. Not everything were bad news, however! Maybe it was a trick of the light, or maybe the woman's eyes hadn't gotten used to normal lightning just yet, but a section of the guardian's armor seemed to have caught some shining, residual speckles.
That were visible even through her shield, as weird as that was. Funnily enough, those fragments of blinking residue seemed to have concentrated on... the guardian's right knee.
Maybe a clue of some sort? Back in the control room, Katherine and Anzu could discern quite clearly that pushing the EVENT command had caused the sudden light to flood the arena, remove all the obstacles there, and vaguely point at Akemi's knee, for one reason or another. There wasn't a lot to observe, with one single exception.
As soon as Sasha picked up the earpiece, the command COMM became selectable again. Infering the implications of that was easy enough!

“Matar el tigre y tenerle miedo al cuero.”
That translated to “killing the tiger and then being afraid of its pelt.”
Katherine’s mother used to say that a lot in native Spanish. Apparently, it was an expression widely used where she was born and, according to the woman, this happened to her green-eyed daughter too often. It meant she usually did the hardest of things during the road and then got scared right before reaching victory.
And that could very well describe what had happened to her right now. The teenager was paralyzed, just grabbing into that chair as if that was going to give her any sense of confidence. The obstacles and hiding spots for Sasha had disappeared, and now she was face to face with her enemy, the guarding of the chamber, non-other than Akemi Amaya.
A weak spot had been highlighted and the option to communicate with Sasha had risen again. It didn’t matter. Katherine couldn’t move. The options were on the table. They should probably communicate with Sasha to avoid her shooting Akemi, and then having the representation of their hatted friend as the winner. If they weren’t that brave to actually do it and would just let everything unfold naturally, then it was likely Sasha came out as the winner and the mission they had been brought to comply a failure.
The problem was she couldn’t get herself to do any of those.
What if all of this was real and either of the girls could actually die? That sole question was enough for her mind to go completely blank and her chest to start raising.
Chances are that they'll try to double cross you in some way or another.
You can expect everyone you meet in there to be duplicitous in some form, even your assigned ambassador.
Just as before, Amy’s word kept swirling through her head. The only thing those indicated was that she had to bring herself to do this. She had to commit to a plan and go through with it. She had to doubt from everything around her and just push forward. She couldn’t be afraid of the tigers’ pelt any longer. And if she was doubting about everything she could see or hear... it was likely Sasha was going to do just that too.
“Anzu, press comm!” She ordered the Sangloupmon. Assuming the contact had been established and only if that command allowed her to communicate with Sasha, Katherine will throw some words her way.
“Mrs. Robinson!” She called out for the Russian. “It’s me, Katherine. You have to shoot her. Shoot right at her weak spot and end this. You have to do it if we want to keep going with our mission.”
Those were the words that she had chosen. Why? Right now, it was anyone’s guess.
The only thing that could be said was that Katherine Jasso had killed the tiger and was not afraid of its pelt.

Things were beginning to proceed far quicker than Anzu could have anticipated, the wolf watching as Sasha just straight up shot the knight that she was fairly certain was actually her partner dead on. Katherine told the wolf to press comm, and she complied, hammering that button like a cookie in an idle clicking game!
Meanwhile, in the room itself, the knight regained her footing quickly. So there was an intruder after all, one with a ranged weapon. She had to close the distance quick, and end this quick. She was in a great position as there wasn't cover between her and this...diminutive intruder. The knight then charged, aiming to run that intruder through with her spear.
Think fast, little Russian.

As expected the powerful blast from her rather odd weapon was more than enough to make the armored guardian stagger back, giving Sasha ample time to quickly rummage through the knapsacks contents and find...an earpiece? Alright, now that she really wasn't expecting. Without a second of hesitation she would place them on her ears however, certain that they had a reason to be here.
And sure enough she'd soon hear a rather familiar voice coming from the other end of the line: Katherine! There was a huge feeling of joy and relief that coursed through the russian's mind and body as she heard the voice of a friend once again, it felt like ages had passed since they had gotten separated. She didn't have the time to enjoy this however, as the voice soon commanded her a single, simple order to be followed at the risk of failing their mission if she didn't comply.
"Shoot at her." Those orders were pretty self explanatory, though Sasha couldn't help but wonder how did she know the guardian was a female. Regardless she wasn't about to question her. Her hand once again reached to draw the string of her bow, but as she aimed up at her enemy and the blonde set her gaze on them...she froze completely.
She could recognize the person behind the armor. Their height, the hat, their distinct shape, it could only be one person. Someone she simply couldn't just shoot at.
"K-kemi? Katherine, why is she..." She stammered, completely flabbergasted. How was this even possible? Was this place playing tricks on her? Was this Armored Akemi even real to begin with? Too many questions swirled on her head, not letting the russian think straight. It took her a full second to realize the Guardian was not hesitating in the slightest and was now charging straight at Sasha, intent on skewering her with her spear.
The blonde didn't so much dodge as she threw herself to the left in an attempt to get out of the way of the spear, falling with a grunt shoulder first to the stone cold floor, but otherwise unscathed...for now. She had no more time to hesitate, and she knew it. If she froze like that again it would be the end.
Drawing her bow once again she aimed in the general direction of her teammate, looking for...her weak spot? Could Katherine have been refering to the now glowing spot in the guard's knee? How convenient.
There was of course the mild concern in the back of her head telling her that maybe, just maybe...Katherine had never actually talked to her, and this was all an elaborate setup from this twisted place. While that was certainly a possibility, there was really nothing else she could do other than trust her friend and let Katherine guide her through this...other than do nothing and let herself be stabbed, but that was obviously not a particularly appealing option.
Biting her lip as she aimed her next attack at the glowing spot in Akemi's right knee, she could only mutter two sad words the moment before she let go of the string.
"I'm sorry."

The guard's advance continued, the little gnat of Slavic origin throwing herself aside to remove herself from the range of the guard's spear. It was obvious that Akemi was not herself, and was pretty much hard-wired to want intruders, which Sasha was definitely classified as, deader than the Tsar.
The guard was advancing towards Sasha again, running even. Though, the guard was aware of the arrow. How did that show? ...She was zig-zagging. That was going to make the shot quite difficult to land squarely, at least where it was aimed at.
The arrow itself crashed into the knight, as a result, and it did hit her in the leg, but not the knee. Okay, now she was limping a little bit. That didn't quite stop her from throwing herself at the intruder, spear pointed outwards! But it did leave her a bit...slow.
