The Crucible: Part 1 [Mission] [Akemi|E&E|Kath|Sasha]

Seriously? Even after taking yet another shot Akemi was still standing? Even if Sasua's aim had been that bad, the bow should have at least made a bigger dent on that armor. Or at least that's what she kept telling to herself
It slowed her advance some sure, but that meant little for Sasha when there was such a small gap between them. Before she could fully get back up on her feet the brainwashed girl with the pretty hat was already trying to run her through with that spear. It was only to Sasha's huge efforts to jump out of the way that the weapon didn't quite reach it's mark, though it still managed to graze the small russian's side, even drawing a bit of blood in the process!
She winced in pain as she aimed her bow again, pain and anger all over her expression. She was starting to lose her patience with this place: chaining her up, bossing her around and now making her fight her friends? She almost wished negotiations went poorly just so she'd have an excuse to come back to raze this settlement to the ground.
"Damnit Kemi you're making it real hard for me to feel sorry!" She thought, taking another quick shot at the designated weakspot.

Things were getting more dire with each passing second. Piercing Akemi's shield in order to reach what had been designated as her 'weak' spot; could it be that the shield that the brainwashed girl was using proved to be too much of a liability? For now, it seemed like it, even if some blows had been struck.
But, it'd take way more than that to bring her down. And, while at least for now, it seemed like an even match, things would surely bound to change; one misstep could mean the difference between winning or losing.
However, there was a small detail that the blonde couldn't forget about. One that, conveniently enough, would prevent a stalemate, and had put the Russian on a clock, so to say.
Once again, the voice in her head made itself present, even though this time, it proved to be irresistible to her. She needed to escape.
Its push was too overwhelming, and the stress she was being subjected to had taken its toll on her mental fortitude. From one moment to the next, Sasha found herself charging at Akemi with reckless abandon, realizing a little too late what she was doing, and how she had basically completely exposed herself to being skewered alive.
It'd take some quick thinking to avoid a grisly fate. Or maybe something else? For now, it seemed that she'd have to think quickly! Would Katherine and Anzu be relieved or worried about the sudden development? Would their attention focus on the monitor currently broadcasting what could very well the Russian's demise, or would any of the two notice that, as the young woman threw herself to her enemy, that a new command could be selected at the console. It looked helpful, at least if at first glance!

Every decision Katherine had taken so far had been fueled by the firm belief this place wanted them to terminate Sasha. Even when she told the Russian to shoot Akemi, she was expecting her to mistrust the voice she was hearing and refrain from doing it. Apparently, there was another voice screaming inside of Sasha that pushed her to keep going. But why? There was something the green-eyed had not considered, something she was missing, actually. No point dwelling about it too much right now. She could not tell what was in Sasha’s mind, therefore she could not do anything to change it.
Right now, the final decision seemed like it was theirs to take. Helping or not helping Sasha.
On one side, everything that had transpired inside that chamber seemed to indicate they had to defeat Sasha. On the other, they were not supposed to trust in what this place seemed to tell them. And, last but not least, she didn’t know what consequences this could bring to their friends.
If she had to think fast, Katherine decided to… do nothing but looking aside.
She had decided to trust in what this place was showing her and not what it was telling her. Was that the best plan? Impossible to know. She just needed this to be over with.
This place had made them face each other. It had made them worried, scared and helpless.
In the end, it didn't really matter what came out of this face-off. Their current state was the solid proof that in this battle... Kara-nam had won.

There must have been a point to communicating to Sasha, maybe in the hopes that she wouldn't trust them. And she did. Look where that left her. "...I take it we're not pressing that button, are we?" Anzu inquired towards Katherine after a long moment of silence from her.
The silence from the Spaniard? That just confirmed what they were doing. Anzu opted to look away then. The knight noted that the shield, as much as she liked it, was a bit of a liability. But, it ultimately didn't matter considering the intruder had gone and left herself exposed by rushing at her. Definitely not in the fun way, either. The knight saw an obvious course of action, and much like a Russian Tsar putting a spike through his son's head?
The possessed girl jabbed her spear towards the charging Sasha, with the intent to shishkabob her. Would she manage it, or would she not?

Damnit, why was nothing working?! Was her aim really that bad? That could be a possibility, seeing how she just...couldn't stop shaking. The physical and mental toll were finally catching up to her, making her movements less coordinated and sluggish. Her head was constantly bombarded by the sounds of her heart pumping like mad and her blood flowing...or was it perhaps water in the distance? She couldn't tell anymore. She couldn't even think clearly at this point. All she wanted was to run. Escape and be done with it. And in a lapse of judgement...that's just what she did.
She wasn't quite sure when or how, but when she got a hold of herself again she found herself charging right at Akemi, the spear wielding girl this close to skewering her like a brochette. In the following moments Sasha didn't do a single thing consciously, her body practically moved on his own out of pure instinct.
Even subconsciously she knew that at this point, there was really one last thing she could do. Letting go of the bow in her hand, the other would not so much reach for her pocket but rather punch the side of her hip. The sudden feeling of hard plastic pressing against her and the sudden light emerging from her pocket were pretty clear indicators that she had succeeded. In a sudden flash of light the girl's feeble human body would banish, leaving behind instead the short and rotund form of Gladimon, one armorclad hand extended forward and the other holding a glowing rapier.
Immediatelly after her hand reached forward as if to block the incoming spear, though there was little she could do to prevent the attack at this point, the russian wincing in pain as the spear found it's way into her armored form. Hopefully it wouldn't be as serious a hit as if she hadn't digivolved, but regardless that wouldn't stop her from doing one final attempt at stopping Akemi. Letting out a scream of pure anger she'd plunge the rapier in her free hand and aim to plunge it on Akemi's glowing knee once. Then twice. Then thrice. And again, and again her whistling plade would stab, faster than the naked eye could see, faster than what Sasha could count.
If this didn't work, then nothing would.
Sasha lets go of the Bow and digivolves into her Sprite Spirit Gladimon, taking damage from Akemi's spear, before aiming at her weak spot with Hundred Stabs.
Hundred Stabs: With a heavy step forward this digimon attempts to skewer the enemy with its rapier, stabbing forward a large number of times in quick succession. Doubly effective against armored targets. Three posts cooldown.

By the console room, not much else happened; the command dubbed as 'HELP' keep on shining faintly on the screen, even if it was promptly ignored by both Katherine and Anzu. At least from their position, it seemed like help coming downwards was unlikely, at least for now.
Silent descended into the chamber, just as the two beings witnessed the combat that was occurring below. Which was, to say the least, pretty intense. Sasha letting go of the bow had temporarily silenced the insidious whispers inside her head, but would that be enough? Especially for what essentially amounted to a drop in power; truth to be told, despite donning Gladimon's form, the blonde would feel more sluggish and weaker than her time as a human. Had that been a correct choice? Probably, especially considering that she was the sole owner of her focus now.
Maybe that was all she needed to take care of the chamber's guardian. For now, Akemi would prove to be a formidable combatant at a close range; more than able to keep up with Sasha's various attempts at lunging at her, it seemed like this was actually the armored warrior's area of expertise.
Definitely not good tidings. Now, for a change... matters focused on none other than Elsie. She must've been really bored on her stony room, considering that none of the fun had befallen her, the experience probably had been pretty boring, overall.
At least until some not-so-strange symbols began to draw on the wall in front of her. They were similar to the words that Evie had seen the first time around, even though, this time, the font and the writing style seemed more... infantile, if one were to describe it in any way.
psssst, hey. yes, yes, you! no need to point at yourself. hi o/
how are you? it's been a long time someone has been in this place. figured you'd be on your way out rather soon, but it seemed that things had gotten a bit hairy for the others! i... think? yeah! probably.
see... i think they need some kind of help, and you're the only one avaiable, i think! not like i can access any other rooms. so! would you be willing to help them? i can help if you wanna!
you just have to tell me whether you wanna come or not. i can arrange a quick trip there! what do you say?
What would happen in the face of this? Would Elsie be curious? Cautious? Or would she just wince at the comic sans?

The warrior hadn't been expecting the gnat to forego her weapon, which might have been one of the best ways to ensure her demise, in favor of...some kind of evolution into one of the most rotund and disgustingly thick creatures she had ever had the displeasure of laying eyes upon.
The thing with a polearm was that above all else, it afforded range. Reach. Something that the warrior was able to use to keep her distance from the newfound rapiers that the Gladimon bore. It was worth noting, however, that the few stabs that did hit were making the guardian start to favor her side that didn't have the cripplingly obvious weakness. The guardian gave a flourish of her spear before she attempted to swing it for Sasha, trying to have her polearm take a few more nips at the Gladimon. and keep her back.

While her quick thinking had allowed Sasha to stay alive for a little bit longer, truth be told she was already regretting letting go of her bow as the sudden feeling of weakness struck her as soon as she dropped the mystical if insidious weapon. Sluggish and unresponsive as she felt her body was getting, at least her thoughts were her own now, and that gave her some peace of mind if nothing else.
That didn't solve the problem of her friend trying to murder her face however, as evidenced by her spear once again trying to stab into Sasha. Taking a step back she'd narrowly avoid any major hits, though the tip would get a couple nicks in. The gladimon swung her sword in the direction of Akemi, the glow from the blade seemingly shooting out and right at her once again. Bow or no bow, Sasha still had some range of her own as well.
Sasha retreats away from Akemi while using Shining Stinger.
Shining Stinger: After gathering light energy into his rapiers Gladimon shoots out two needle like projectiles from the tip of the swords. These projectiles have a 60 feet range and will explode upon impact. Said explotion has a rather modest range of 6 feet, though it still packs a punch. Two posts cooldown.
Cooldowns:
Hundred Stabs: (1/3) Shining Stinger: (0/2)

It actually was pretty boring in this room, alone! For a short while, the blonde debated on trying to take a nap on the floor, or if it would result in her getting abducted in her sleep. Ultimately? It would probably result in her getting abducted, and Evie reprimanding her later on for sleeping in strange places! If only the Digital World had cell phone reception! At least Elsie could play some online games or surf the internet!
Instead, the teen remained standing -- mostly to avoid falling asleep -- and looking around the room to see if anything might change. So far, nothing. Not that it was surprising! Rooms weren't really supposed to do anything fancy, like change colors, teleport people, or... writing suddenly appearing on the wall?
Oh no. She'd already fallen asleep, hadn't she?
Rubbing one of her eyes, the girl squinted at the text. And, at the little 'emoticon' greeting, she waved her hand! If this was a dream, she may as well as least interact with the weird things happening! It wasn't like it would hurt anything! Putting her arms behind her back after the wave, the teen pinched her wrist. After all, if it was a dream, it couldn't hurt her! Except, it would hurt! So, this wasn't just a dream? She was just going crazy from boredom or loneliness? Would Evie be more disapproving of the insanity, or napping? Elsie had to wonder how her sister would feel about such a thing.
Slowly, head tilted to the side. It couldn't be a hallucination. Right? She couldn't be that crazy, to where text was forming on a wall in comic sans of all things, right? Today had already been a tiring day. Maybe Elsie was doomed.
It sounded like, maybe the others were doomed, also, though! In a different way!
But, just as she opened her mouth to seemingly accept, the blonde hesitated. "How can I help?" What was she even helping with? What if the others weren't in trouble, and this was a trap? Kara-nam was supposed to be tricky or something, after all! But, the reckless twin didn't keep a D-Terminal on her, and wasn't able to try to reach out to anyone to see how they were doing!
For all she knew, everyone else had already joined together and she was the only one standing around, all alone! So, after another moment of thought, and scrunching her nose, the red-eyed girl would give a proper answer to the question that had been presented. "I mean, if you think it'll help. Sure. I'll do it."
Hopefully, Elsie wasn't actually the one that was going to doom everyone else.

Elsie seemed to have a new friend, kinda! The random scribbles in comic sans seemed to have taken a liking to her. Was it the girl's natural bubbliness, or just the fact that she had complied to the offer pretty much without objecting? That was hard to tell.
attagirl! i knew i was lucky when i stumbled upon you \o/
so, try to not move if you can help it. this might feel a bit swirly. hope you don't suffer from motion sickness!
also.
you're probably gonna land directly on top of a very... unfriendly situation. i'm not aware of what's up, but i know it's not good at all.
hope you can make the correct choices. i'll be rooting for you!
it's kinda lonely here, and i wish i could chat a bit more with you, but alas! we gotta part ways. see ya o/

From one moment to the next, Elsie was whisked away, her body vanishing in a faint flash of light. So, what would she feel as she traversed that colorful void? It wasn't very pretty; almost as if she had been thrusted into the insides of a washing machine, everything spun around her for what felt like an eternity.
When in truth, it had been ten or so seconds. After that, it seemed like the makeshift method of transportation had gotten a lot more... calmer, for the lack of a better word; a vague, indistinguishable blackness was everything at sight while the turbulence inherent to the previous moments stopped altogether.
"In the beginning, we were four." Whether ready or not, Elsie would suddenly find herself in the receiving end of a disembodied voice's speech. It was deep and commanding, yet distinctly feminine at the same time.
"Four sisters who promised to vanquish the evils residing in this temple. Alyssa, Braelyn, Callia, and Deanne. We succeeded, but at a great cost; our essence and our spirits were shackled to this cursed land. We live through our belongings, for better or worse."
A hint of nostalgia, and even sadness was evident through the narrator's tone. "Our memories, dreams, and convictions reside within. It takes a very special kind of person to wield them properly, but I think those are the key for you to get out of this place. You'll need all the help you can get."
It was weird, but the red-eyed teen would be able to... pretty much feel how the disembodied voice smirked. "I like you. Better than the other humans that entered the temple. You've got the right attitude."
One final pause, before what would be the voice's parting words. "Take good care of it, okay?"
A loud snap before the darkness was replaced by the bright light of a stone chamber, not unlike the one where Sasha had found herself at the start. With the notable difference that Elsie wasn't chained and that a bronze-colored morningstar rested right beside her. It emanated a fair amount of heat, yet not enough to cause discomfort.
And... at the same time, the sound of strife coming directly from below the stony floor could be heard. At least two beings were clashing in what seemed like a rather fierce fight.
What would she do? There wasn't much to say about said fight, all things considered. Sasha was decidedly in the backfoot, and unless she did something to revert her current situation, it was only a matter of time until Akemi gained the upper hand and overpowered her. What would she do, then? Time was running out, and unless something drastic happened, this was a losing fight. What about Katherine and Anzu? Their situation wasn't improving, and that was to say the least. The console's command immediately darkened and began to show a somewhat dire message.
S E C U R I T Y B R E A C H D E T E C T E D C O M M A N D S T E M P O R A R I L Y U N A V A I L A B L E
What was the meaning of it? At least at the moment, the monitors didn't show anything out of the ordinary. Should they be alert? At least for now, those questions would remain unanswered.

The momentum Katherine had received upon deciding what had to be done and the determination she had previously shown to comply with what the chamber wanted her to do had slowly worn off, probably due to the fact of the combat and this whole endeavor dragging on for too long. Just watching them fight was very tiresome. Sadly, it seemed like it was far from being over. Sasha had dropped the bow and evolved, which had made ‘Akemi’ get the upper hand in this battle. This would make the Spaniard think the whole situation was drawing towards the end until…
“Security… breach?” She quickly moved her head around, trying to see if anything had entered their room. Then, she reached a conclusion akin to what she had originally perceived: This probably meant a breach inside the chamber where the fight was taking place.
“Well… it wasn’t like we intended to use the only command you were showing us.” She muttered as if she was speaking to the screen. “I don’t really know if you’re on our side or not.” Was she going crazy, talking to a machine?
Anyways, only one questioned remained:
… What was it? Good news or bad news for them? It was hard to say what constituted a good or bad situation at this point. Maybe that was what Kara-nam was about.

...A security breach? Anzu would have raised an eyebrow at that if she had any, that was particularly strange. But, she did find herself in agreement with Kath. Nothing here could be trusted in the slightest, could it? "Careful...Though, I can likely fight whatever might be breaching us. If it even gets here."
Quite honestly, whether this was a good or bad tiding, it did mean this was drawing ever closer to an inevitable end, right? Or was that just the beginning? The uncomfortably round knight had been keeping her distance to try mitigating the advantage that the guardian had with the reach of her spear. In addition, she had fired forth two needle-like...projectiles from her strange choice of weapons.
Seriously, who dual wields rapiers? The guardian could only try avoiding one of them. Deft as she was, she couldn't avoid both of these needlelike things. Once more, she rushed the Gladimon down, and jab her spear at her some more. Was...Was she trying to back her into a corner, or something?
Maybe.

There was no sugar coating this: Sasha was on the losing side of this battle. Whatever was powering Akemi far overpowered whatever strenght her spirits gave her. None of her attacks seemed to even be making her flinch, while the guardian's spear felt jsut as dangerous as ever. Yet even as she was backed against a corner (both literally and metaphorically), her eyes weren't locked on her attacker...but rather on the fallen bow she had left just a couple feet away from her position. As much as she hated it, that thing seemed the only weapon capable of stopping Akemi.
The round onion like knight closed her eyes as she sighed in frustration.
"Fine! I'll play your way!"
Not a second after she could feel the entire world vibrate around her, everything becoming a blur as if she moved at impossibly high speed, before things came back to a sudden stop. After which Akemi would find that her opponent was no longer in front of her, but rather a good number of feet behind her! Though the Gladimon form would have banished away just as soon as she got a hold of the bow.
What would Sasha do after this? Well, if given the chance, the only thing in her mind as she picked the bow and gripped it firmly once again: she'd be running away from Akemi.
Sasha teleports away from the corner and a couple feet behind Akemi using Quickstep before getting a hold of the bow again before trying get distance between her and Kemi. Or perhaps she's just running away...
QuickStep: Gladimon performs a short ranged (up to ten feet) teleport, quickly spining around and slashing the area around him with his blades if near an enemy. Three posts cooldown.

QuickStep: (0/3) Hundred Stabs: (2/3) Shining Stinger: (1/2)

Well, look at that! Elsie felt like she might have made a friend! If there was actually an entity behind the strange texts, after all. But, it seemed happy with her decision, and that's what really mattered here! "Maybe we can talk later, sometime!" Was that an actual option?
If someone was behind the words, and not just a robot, who knew!
But, wait. Did they say something about motion sickn--
Oh, god. There it was! The world was swirling and despite warnings, Elsie couldn't help but lift her hands to cover her face. While the risk of actually getting ill wasn't present, she still didn't like the sensation! This was just like those Tilt-A-Whirl rides at the carnival that she hated way too much, and that Evie loved way too much!
But, after a while of spinning and reliving flashbacks of carnivals, everything turned into some sort of movie. There were four. Somehow, the blonde kept silent throughout the monologue. No questions, no responses. Her own breathing seemed to halt. And soon enough, it concluded. Was it a recording? Or, was someone really talking to her?
Just like the entity that wrote to her, Elsie found it hard to distinguish reality from a program.
There was a flinch at the snap, and upon re-opening her eyes, the girl squinted to adjust from darkness to light. And, as soon as she could see? Eyes fell upon the weapon beside her. Fingers reached out, not hesitating at the heat, as she gripped onto the morningstar. "Deal," she mumbled, finally responding to the disembodied voice. Tightening her hold on the newfound weapon, the red-eyed teen lifted it up, ignoring any weight to the best of her ability. In a surprisingly fluid motion, she slammed the weapon into the floor at her feet.
Something was below her. She needed to find out what. Would this item help her reveal what -- or who -- that was?

It was weird, but Elsie could feel the acceptance coming from the weapon as she gripped it. Despite its relative size and weight when compared to the wild-haired blonde, the weapon seemed to be pretty much weightless when she tried to pick it up; in a sense, Elsie almost felt like she was the implement's long-time owner, and had practiced with it for literal years. The heat emanating from the Morningstar even produced a somewhat pleasant sensation in her skin. Definitely a good match!
Considering that there wasn't a clear exit at sight, and that the only signs of anything happening were down below, the next action seemed like something relatively smart to do. After the strike, Elsie would feel her footing compromised, mostly because she had pretty much destroyed the surface where she was standing, even if that probably wasn't the most noteworthy thing to observe. Down below, she could see Sasha and the knight that resembled Akemi a little too much.
The scene didn't need to be described in the slightest; what was happening was pretty obvious; the two were locked in combat, and, at least at a glance, it seemed like Sasha was obviously at a disadvantage. Who would she help? Was she helping anyone? It didn't look like she had a lot of time to decide!
At least for now, it seemed like said fight was a tense stalemate. Sasha had managed to disengage successfully, and with the bow in her hands, while its influence threatened to once again invade her thoughts, at least it seemed manageable for now. At a distance, she definitely had the edge regarding the situation, but...
For how long would she be able to keep it? Maybe she could use a hand with that!
Maybe the newcomer, who fell alongside a good deal of the ceiling would help? Wait... did the ceiling just collapse? And there was somebody falling among the debris? This situation was definitely getting weirder by the second. There wasn't much to be said about Katherine and Anzu's situation. Except for one key detail; as the console began to go haywire, the restraints that had held the dark-haired girl began to loosen up. It wouldn't be hard for her to break free if she made a conscious effort about it, especially with the digimon's help.
