Operation: Noble Aim (Mission)

No one made a move until the entire squad had assembled in a spot of desolate forest out in the middle of the Timberlands that took the group very far away from the nearest major civilization, road, or really most anything, really. All there was to see were trees, trees, and more trees, though at this time of night it was hard to see far. The good news for them was that they weren't kept waiting long, but that also meant they didn't get long to take in the sights, however unremarkable they may have been. Quite smoothly and quietly, some beings tried their best to sneak up on each of those gathered and slip a blindfold over every one of them quick as they could. "Don't be alarmed," a deep male voice announced to the group, "We're Silence, and this is only the security precaution we spoke of in the notice: we don't want to run the risk of the mission area being known before we must. I promise no harm will come to any of you!" Hopefully the group believed in the speaker's sincerity, for he did mean what he said. The sound of a second speaker was surprisingly gruff, considering it also came from a clearly feminine voice. It didn't speak to the assembled team but about them to someone else. "We have them! Pick us up!" The next sound the group would have been able to hear was a... helicopter? It sure sounded and felt like one as whatever it was landed in the middle of the small clearing. "Load in, people!" The male and female then began loading all of the passengers into the helicopter-like vehicle. Fortunately, there was just enough room for all the guests to sit in a barely padded seat with a seatbelt; the female speaker had to stand while the male decided to sit by its edge, or so the directions of their voices probably led the team to believe.
Liftoff was preceded by the sound of metal striking metal twice.
It was at this point that the female expressed her displeasure about the selection, and she wasn't subtle about it. "This is the best we could do? A kitten, a mouse, a loudmouth, a house pet, and-" She had to yell to be heard over the sound of those rotors turning, but she seemed very determined to make her disappointment known. However, she stopped before she could insult Ryouta and Valt. "-wait a minute..."
"Operational security," the male interrupted before she could say another word, "It can wait." Ryouta and Valt, if their memories and ears were good, might have been able to identify these speakers by their voices alone, for they had met before. Apparently that didn't earn them the privilege of early blindfold removal, however. "But you of all people should know better than to judge merit by appearance." After properly rebutting the female, the male addressed the group. "Welcome to Silence, kids! You're currently on board Helomon en route to our staging area. Keep those blindfolds on until we land; anyone who doesn't will be tossed out, and you don't want to know how far the fall is! We refuse to risk the slightest chance one of you may give us away by intention or by accident, and that's why my partner is going to sweep you for bugs." That examination was quick; most digimon were only told to show whatever parts of their body couldn't be seen, like Skye having to take off her gloves. The female only had to touch Ryouta, but he got a fairly non-invasive pat down.
About twenty-five minutes in the male barked again, "Alright, kids! I regret to inform you that you will not be getting an aerial tour of the beautiful city of Hildegard because Megadramons patrol the skies around it. We 'll have to divert to avoid them!" That was why the ride lasted an additional tweenty minutes. "No offense taken if you've never heard of it; it's insignificant in the grand scheme of the digital world, but it's very important to the people who live there. Its people used to be proud warriors, but ever since the new tenants moved in they've been under the menace's thum. Well, they've overstayed their welcome, and you will be evicting them!"
Twenty minutes later, "We're landing in the staging area some klicks out from Hildegard. When we do, go inside the big green tent! That's where the General will be waiting to brief you!" It would take some strong ears to catch her then muttering, "If we use the word 'general' loosely..." As Helomon set down with a big bump, she commanded, "Blindfolds off! Get going!" Whenever someone took off their blindfold, they would find the female who had been speaking was a tall and proud Renamon while the male, who ran ahead of the group on landing, was a stoic and serious Commandramon. On exit, they'd also get a look at their ride Helomon. They would also find themselves in a forest clearing little different from the last one except for the fact that this one contained a makeshift tent (or, rather, a green tarp propped up on long sticks shoved into the ground). Its inside was about as unimpressive as its inside, too. The only furniture in it was a large, square table on which sat a map covered in pen marks that looked pretty messy, a few of which even looked like someone attempted to cross them out. What was truly remarkable about the inside was the one who was looking over the map. It was a 16-year-old human boy. The Commandramon held the flap open and announced the group with the voice of a soldier addressing a superior, which got the short Japanese boy with a brown buzzcut who was still in his school uniform to look up. "General! Commandramon and Renamon returning with the hired help. Helomon is outside."
"Sounds good, the boy replied." As he watched the team dismount, he pulled a blue and silver Fusion loader from his pocket and declared, "Break fusion." That turned the helicopter into three distinct groups of digimon: six Missimon, eight MetalKoromon, and a single Hagurumon, all of which followed the guests into the tent. Once everyone was inside, Commandramon closed the flap, and the boy bowed. "I'm Tadayoshi Teppei. Pleased to meet you a-" Yoshi paused and rose when he noticed Ryouta and Valt. "Well... isn't that a funny coincidence? Considering what happened last time we met, I'm glad to have you on our side this time." The boy was personable and polite in his greeting, but when he rose he turned suddenly dead serious. "I'm sure I'm not what you were expecting, but let's not dwell on that. Introduce yourselves if you like, but gather around this table here soon. We're all a little jumpy and wanna get this overwith." New objective added:
1) Report to staging area for briefing

The mission... it's been a long time since the last time they entered a mission. Just in case, Valt read the message once more before burning it. The objective is destroying the enemies its seems. Normally, something like this isn't encouraged in KIZNA. This is line of work of now defunct PROFIT. However, when he asked to Yuuki if this is alright (while leaving out the details obviously), the human and his partner Dorumon allowed it, as long as they're not making too much scene. Considering their line of job as assassins prior to their amnesia, this is probably a line of job that they eventually will fall back to. The two agreed to this, and prepared themselves. Looks like the operative is done at night.
"...To think that the mission issuer even said that we must load the data of the guy, just how hated this guy is? Heh... The mission giver isn't any of the 'normal kids' too I'm guessing," the Vmon mused. The two decided to go to the meeting point with the right clothes, mostly those that hides their features. Just in case, he wears half mask that covered his mouth. It's complete with voice changer just in case.
The meeting place... how to describe it... it was desolate. At times like this, Valt laments that his vision is no better than those of a normal human. Their companions are here... It's seem to be a Tailmon and Chuumon and something else, he forgot what, because the next turn he suddenly felt presence of someone around super ultimate level... Hmmm, come to think of it, he never met her before, but that's probably Cion, another ex-PROFIT. Too bad they're unable to go on mission together so he could test her ability himself.
"Behind huh," Ryouta mused.
"Oh? You picked up your old skills already? Yeah, but they're not hostile so it's alright." The two decided to raise their hands in gesture of complying to the clients.
There's no need for blindfold honestly, but what can he do? The voice sounds familiar enough that Valt suddenly chuckled. "Goddamn, I know that guy is not really a normal guy, but to think he wanna go this route..."
On the talk about the disappointment, Valt chortled. "Heh, are you really that much of a greenhorn, Renamon? That lady over there is Super Ultimate. You'd do well to not slight her," Valt pointed his thumb at the general direction of Cion. "I don't know the other three, but that one I can assure you is competent, probably much more than us currently!"
Pity he can't look at the village, otherwise he would probably able to gauge the securities and forces beforehand but that's fine. The clients probably already got the intels needed. Still, Megadramon of all Digimon.... This gonna be tricky.
Luckily the flight took less than an hour. Ryouta gratefully takes off his blindfold and readjusted himself to any source of light. It's dark, so his eyes already slowly getting used to it. The green tent... there, huh. He puled his hood again and entered.
Looks like from his eyes and body type alone he's already discovered huh, heh. Well, can't blame him, silverish blue eyes are rarity, and it's the only thing that left from his biomerge side effect with Valt -- which was Ryu back then. He doesn't remember about it himself, but he's fond of it.
"Quickness is preferred, so I'll just be short," Valt answered. "Name's Valt, this is my partner, for the mission let's just go with 'Tatsu' for him. Easier to say. I'm more suited for direct confrontation 1-on-1. My moves can be kinda flashy, especially as perfect stage. It'll be probably good if you put me place where I can gather all the attention and you guys do the ambush on the back. We also bring our mercenary Ilbert if it's needed. He currently can access Locomon stage. He can help you guys patch up if needed, or rest. If you need any of his help, don't hesitate to ask."
And with that the two joined in with the rest for briefing.

Assisting a group of liberation fighters recapturing a town in the Eastern Timberlands overrun by fiends who had likely fled the D-Reaper's mindless destruction. Oh what a world indeed. At the end of the day however, for the sake of global peace and the progress of ASCENSION, Cion gladly accepted the valiant task of driving the evil interlopers out of their unrightful territory. Infiltration was not one of her weaknesses, she was generally intelligent and astute, and knew how to professionally follow orders. It was odd that she was not allowed to digivolve past her Ultimate form, but it was probably due to avoiding collateral damage and sensors detecting her.
Though clearly covered by night, the measurements these rebels who had hired her utilized to assure success were weird. Blindfolds, seriously? And was that a helicopter the CyberSagitamon was hearing? Oddities stacking on top of each other, but as long as it served a righteous purpose she was inclined to accept them. Eventually being led inside the vehicle, the vulpine warriors rolled her eyes, accepting the uncivil, implicit insult of another stranger's voice. If only that chap grasped what she was truly capable of. Alas, there was no time showing off.
Being called a kid was infuriating for the fine lady, as was the sampling of her armored body. Although since It was an understandable procedure, she kept quiet, not wishing to antagonize her puerile employers. Money was always right after all! Remaining perpetually silent as to meditate and attune to her long unused powers as a perfect digimon, her ears merely peaked upon receiving further instructions. Of course the ancient sentinel did not expect a lovely voyage nor a lack of passion to get rid off the current occupants of Hildegard. What a strange name for a city - or person to be honest.
Finally, as they landed, she was allowed to see once more, only to be left unpleasantly baffled. Had a mere Renamon honestly libeled her and her temporary allies as a reason for exasperation? The hubris - impertinent to say the least. In any case, Cion would have preferred to skip introductions until they met up within the green tent. However, a person that seemed to be a stranger to her who apparently was familiar with her regardless indirectly praised her. Naturally, as it was courteous, she granted Valt a rapt smile.
"Many thanks, but there is no reason to discredit yourself, dear. I am sure we all will do fine. I certainly won't be affected by a simple misjudgment. Nevertheless... have we met before?" She calmly expressed her mental serenity and curiosity. It was rare she forgot someone, hence she hoped he had simply heard of her.
Leaving the chaos of past events behind her, the CyberSagitamon watched as the once believed vehicle split up into multiple, lesser digimons. A fascinating technique and something she had not been witness of before. Instead of focusing on this occurrence, she instead entered the tent to meet the young boy who was responsible for this gathering. "Pleased to meet you, Mr. Teppei. I am Cion." She cybernetically enhanced warrior kindly introduced herself with a formal bow. Not revealing her indifference towards previous relationships, she dismissed possible prejudices and did nothing but silently position herself at the table for further instructions.

Skye the Gatomon had found it relatively difficult to leave Rosewood once she had arrived. There it was, a place where digimon were as one with the forest around them. Still working, nobody judging, a new place to begin so to say. As someone repulsed by the piety of Luminas and the depravity of the Dark Area, this place felt good to her. There were also others that she knew here. Owen the Gaomon for instance, the captain of her old unit, 7/71st Recon, he lived here. Even though operations no longer occurred often as he was looking after his son Bezil, well, Skye liked that he was around, raising a good kid. Made her realize that there were things worth protecting in the world. And so she was intrigued to see a notice at the inn noticeboard, a message from some independent freedom fighters. Well, that caught her attention right away. After all, Skye was sick of hearing daily that more and more evil things were happening around the digital world. While she did want to settle down and have a place for herself, well, she simply couldn't. The old soldier in her knew that she still had things to offer to the world, and withholding it was an act she couldn't forgive herself for. So, Skye took note of the notice and asked her travelling companions Hickory the Chuumon and Jorge the Shoutmon about it. "I don't know... it sounds really shifty to me" Hickory admitted. "Could be a trap even"."Their story works out for me though" Jorge said, the Shoutmon folding his arms. "I say we should go and help 'em out".Skye weighed up both opinions. Both were valid, but still, she wanted to at least see what this was about before deciding to accept or reject it. "We'll move out and meet up with them" she decided. "We'll hear their story, then decide whether or not to accept it".That seemed like a good compromise. And so Skye, Hickory and Jorge went to the meeting place. It took them a while to reach the desolate location in the Timberlands, but, they managed, moving ahead of time so they didn't have to rush and get tired. Through Skye's old survival skills she retained through memory, she managed to get the three of them there in good condition. When the blindfold was slipped over their heads, each reacted differently. Hickory merely froze up in terror, muttering "It's a trap! I knew it!" Jorge angrily summoned his mic staff, but Skye held his arm firmly. "Jorge, don't. They made clear that they are making a huge risk in revealing themselves, so be peaceful". Jorge relented and made his staff disappear. She didn't appreciate the surprise though. "However, if you attempt to bind our arms too, we will resist and not hesitate to destroy you if we must" she stated as a threat. At no point did Skye want to be rendered defenseless here. She then heard a noise she had never heard before. A mechanical thumping sound of a high powered engine. She almost wished she could see to determine what it was. But she sat down as indicated, along with Hickory and Jorge. "Well, fuck you too, bitch" Jorge spat back at the female voice at her insults. Like hell he was remaining silent over that treatment. Everything about this was making him angry. He hated having his freedom taken away from him. "You were the one that convinced us to go, Jorge" Skye reminded him, which rendered him into a sullen silence. Apparently they were within a Helomon, and had to keep their blindfolds on. Skye respected their wishes to security. As long as they meant no harm to her, Hickory or Jorge, she would tolerate this for now. She tensed up when asked to remove her gloves, but complied. She understood what was being done here, and at least gained a little trust in this "Silence" gang for them doing no more than their stated intentions. "Hildegard...?" Skye repeated, furrowing her eyebrows in confusion. That seemed familiar to her, but, she hadn't heard it stated out loud before. She waited in a nervous silence while they evaded these 'Megadramon'. She had suffered worse before as a soldier, so she kept her unease hidden. This was all within her tolerance threshold. Lives were at stake here, so, she thought of this as just another mission. They would then land, then finally the blindfolds were removed. Jorge's blue eyes fixed with anger at the Renamon, but Skye touched his arm again, giving him a glare with her own blue eyes that told him to get over whatever shit he had about her. They had arrived, unharmed, cooperatively, no further deceit than surprise blindfolds. They would act as a military unit. For an ex-king, this would be hard, but Jorge thought he'd be up to this task, and relented. It was hard, but, he comforted himself that he had asked his own royal guard to act like this before, it should not be a thing for him to do the same. Skye meanwhile was more taken aback by their companions. "You're... Owen's sister" she remarked to Cion, not having seen her before being blindfolded. And the other, a human and a Veemon, she was less familiar with, but still thought she might have recognized them somewhere. They entered the tent as requested, then were faced with a human boy. Jorge was a little taken back, but Skye had long since learned of the influence of humans and the digital world. She bowed politely to greet him. When given leave to introduce themselves, they would do so. "My name is Skye, former 1st Lieutenant of the 7/71st Recon battalion of the Digital World Republic" she stated. "My commission and nation have since been rendered defunct, but my unit and skills have not. I'm glad to meet you all and hope I can be of service."I-I'm Hickory, from the Dark Area" Hickory would nervously state next, standing on his normal place on Skye's shoulder. "I-I mean... I fled from the dark area, but, I... hate evil things and if I can be of any help here, I'll do it". He spoke his last words of that sentence with a fierce expression, at least, as fiercely as a one-foot-tall digimon could manage. "I'm Jorge" the Shoutmon would then state, more relaxed than before from his outburst. After hearing everyone else's introductions, he had calmed down somewhat. He was about to launch into a long explanation about his past as a king, but, decided in the end to toss it aside. It wasn't relevant and it would just be an indulgence for him to do so. "I'm... just a mercenary working with Skye, and I hope I can be of help here".Skye patted his arm for saying that. Jorge smiled back. Letting go was hard, but, once something was let go, it felt blissful somehow.
Following that, they too sat at the table to await the formal briefing.

"Did you say 7/71st?" Commandramon raised an eyebrow, betraying his piqued interest. "I've heard of you. Your unit has been through the wringer if the stories are right."
Even Renamon had to admit with some amusement, "Well, well! The kitten has claws after all."
Finally, all had gathered around the map. The boy cleared his throat and began, "Thank you all so much for coming. I'll have to ask you to listen close because we have a lot of information to disperse and not a lot of time to disperse it, so I apologize if my tone is taken for rudeness. Captain?"
Commandramon took over the speech from there. "A few kilometers north of us is the town of Hildegard, population: a few too many. The Black Army is more like a gang in how it takes over villages and small towns to exploit their resources and their people. I hope your conscience will allow you to exercise maximum justifiable force against them with the knowledge that their value to this world is no higher than a mosquito's in you humans' world." The captain noticed that the fox digimon was glaring at him for that remark, so he added, "Present company excepted."
"Hildegard used to have a warrior tradition. Their rookie digimon were sent off to the Spartan camp upon evolution and weren't to come back until completion, however long that took."
"The captain was a part of that program, in fact. Only, when he came home, the place looked like it does now." Uh-oh. By the look on Commandramon's face, this was information he didn't want shared. Oh, well.
"We have a warrior tradition, but we were never aggressors. Yet despite almost every resident being a capable fighter, they've been subjugated. Let that speak to the threat level here." Just then, Tadayoshi passed the lizard a marker, which he took in order to start drawing on the map in synch with Tadayoshi's speech.
"We're here." Commandramon circled their location. "From here, we're going to send you all in on foot-" Commandramon drew a line that reached halfway to the village. "-because Megadramon have stepped up patrols in the sky. Unfortunately, I think we're expected, and they think we'll come by air. A reasonable assumption, since that was what we originally wanted. More on them later. At this point, you will split into three directions and insert into the mission area through three points: a tunnel they dug under the wall in the southwest, the broken south gate, and a flaw in the wall in the southeast."
"We expect the Black Army knows about these flaws and defends them with this in mind. Despite that, we've determined this is still the easiest and safest path to take. If you can sneak in, your lives will be much easier."
"Now, this mission is about more than just extermination. We need to discourage them from ever coming back, seeing as this is actually the second time we've been put in this position. So, ironically, we want you to boost the village's defenses before moving on. That means collapsing the tunnel, repairing the gate, and fixing the flaw in the wall. Then, move on to demo infrastructure, structures built by the Black Army that Hildegard doesn't need: the watchtower, the prison, and the resource hoards."
Commandramon elaborated, "The watchtower was built for internal surveillance, not defense. Nevertheless, it's still capable of spotting your approach. Be careful to avoid raising the general alarm. As for the prison, our ways of dealing with wrongdoers do not involve keeping them in cages. Those resources will be our loss, but it's worth it if we can go back to a time when every digimon kept all that they earned instead of paying for 'protection' or their 'taxes.'"
"Here's another tip: destroy these targets at the same time if you can. No doubt you'll raise the alarm when buildings come down, but that way you'll give every team an equal chance to escape the area."
At that point, Renamon took over. "We know Black Army protocol in this situation will be to take hostages. Your next step is to head north as fast as possible and work together to neutralize all the hostiles in the residential district. Don't stop until they're all eggs in the Village of Beginnings." Renamon crossed her arms. "Or just load them. We don't care, though don't expect to get much of anything from their data."
"If hostages are taken, use any means necessary to free them!" the armed lizard barked then, "Noncombatant casualties are completely unacceptable. Is that understood?" Commandramon wasn't just being gruff; he was truly passionate and infuriated, enough so that there was a pause before Tadayoshi continued on. "Finally, when the civilians are safe, your job is to assassinate the commander of these digimon. Unfortunately we can't tell you who he is, but we can tell you where he is." Commandramon drew a skull and crossbones over one especially large building far in the northeast corner. "Loading every single bit of his data is mandatory. Like the General said, we refuse to risk this happening a third time. If you complete all of your objectives, then we will part as friends."
"Or if you're not the social type, we'll be satisfied, and you'll be a little richer." Commandramon passed the marker back to Tadayoshi. "We aren't done here, but I know that was a lot of info we just dumped on you. Please ask any questions you have."
Active Objectives:
1) Report to staging area for briefing -Status: In progress
Post order next round: N/A

"Yeah... you could say that" Skye answered the Commandramon's remarks about the 7/71st. Through the ringer so much in fact that Skye wasn't sure if she wanted to continue fighting for it, but, seeing them in Rosewood, acting as protectors of the digital world from threats, she couldn't let that part of her rest quite yet. She simply gave a polite nod at Renamon, not being bothered with being called 'kitty'. Skye knew how to separate words from deeds and still noted that they had been brought here safely.
Skye, Hickory and Jorge listened carefully to what Tadayoshi had to say. None of them interrupted, but Skye would take mental notes on what clarifications she needed when given the opportunity to ask.
So, apparently the town of Hildegard was currently taken over by a faction called the "Black Army", who apparently were a group that looted and pillaged undefended civilizations for resources. No good dirty bandits then. Hickory trembled with fury at this, even though he was the smallest here, he hated how it seemed like he was still in the dark area from the evil deeds being done here.
Their eyes widened when Tadayoshi divulged that this seemed to be a personal matter. This village was Commandramon's home. The three of them felt sympathetic to his cause then.
So, the plan was to approach the village on foot. Understandable, if so heavily defended by air, they could rely on the cover of the forest to approach it on the ground. Following that, they would split into three directions to infiltrate the village, preferably through stealth. Skye felt comfortable about this, as did Hickory, but Jorge, whose main battle capabilities were flashy fireballs and loud sound blasts, felt a bit more doubtful. However, it wasn't like he was completely defenseless. His Rowdy Rocker could despatch silently if needed.
They were also meant to cut off their own escape routes behind them. This made Skye a little troubled, but, still she kept her silence.
Next, they were to destroy the watchtower, prison and resource holds. Preferably at the same time. Skye glanced at Cion, Ryouta and Valt at this, hoping they would be able to coordinate well. They certainly looked like people they could count on though.
Their next task would to be to proceed through the residential district. Skye clenched her fists at the mention of hostages, but, she supposed, all would be well if all left to the village of beginnings. She glanced at Hickory and Jorge to let them know what she would do to them if they loaded a single byte of any data, and they gave nervous glances in response.
"We understand" Skye spoke at Commandramon's order to save any noncombatants. This would be hard, yes, but, they were here to save the lives of the innocent. And they would do anything they could to do so.
But, the last order, to load the data of the enemy commander, Skye was a little disturbed by this. So much so that she was forced to object. The principles of the 7/71st - "One life, one soul" flowed deep within her.
"That last objective..." she said, speaking first. "Everything else about the mission I have no quandry about, but I hold deep misgivings about it. My culture forbids loading the souls of other digimon. Reconfiguring it, sealing it, that I can accept, but... under no circumstance will I act like... like a cannibal and utterly erase another digimon through loading".
She turned her gaze to Commandramon, looking sympathetic. "I'm genuinely sorry this has happened to your home, twice, but, please don't ask me to do that. Any others, I don't blame you if you do, if you do so yourself, or our allies, or even if you do so, Jorge and Hickory, I won't stop you, but... please... don't ask that of me".
The memory of a thousand dead digimon was surging through her mind at this. She struggled to hold back tears, remembering how hard and valiantly she and her comrades fought to defend the sanctity of digimon immortality in that battle. All had died there, both comrades and enemy, but none had had their immortality stolen. Skye could never do that to another digimon, even after all this time.

Hmmm, more or less the same with what they first heard detail wise. Saying 'like mosquitoes' though, are a bit harsh, perhaps due to the hatred the commander felt against these occupants. Valt doesn't quite like how it was put, but then again, he has been working as assassin for Homeostasis knows how long. Being picky in time like this is odd.
"Hmmm, well I don't think we have met, Cion, no. But you see, I was your senior officer in PROFIT, well, back when I was still a Dracomon anyway. So I won't blame you on not knowing who we are, you see," Valt answered. "But nostalgic talk can wait."
Ryouta was the one to raise his hand between the two of them.
"Alright, I have several questions then." It might be weird to hear the youth's voice as he used voice changing mask. "First, I want to know whether humans are common in this place. Second, if there are any curfew so to say. Third, if there are ways to differentiate between the occupants of the village and the common folk for sure. As much as we understand that we need to eliminate all forces, differentiating between the commonfolk and the soldiers are something that we want to ensure first. Finally, fourth... Is the news of occupation of the town is common knowledge for locales that are training in spartan training ground? These four points hopefully can help me in planning something at least."
Seeing how Skye disagrees to absorption, Valt raised his hand. "If any of you felt that absorbing is too vile for you, then I'll take that burden from you guys. Don't get me wrong. I too dislike this sort of method. I wouldn't say it's conscience or something, but more to 'if you don't want the same thing happened to you, don't do it to another', but... honestly, there are times where you need to do exactly this to enact justice. Digimon returns, ALWAYS. While there are no guarantee they'll come back as other individual, there are no guarantee that they won't return as the same one either. That's why, if you don't like it, just leave that part to me. Is that clear?"
Rescuing noncombatants though... Hmmm, this will be hard, but... He'll do it. For now it's best to not do any sort of careless action.
"...I think I'll take the collapsing the tunnel part. What sort of method do you suggest for us to take?" Valt asked the general and his Commandramon. "Bomb might be a bit too noisy, but faking a landslide will be hard.

Renamon crossed her arms and rolled her eyes at the cat digimon. ”I saw that look, honey. If you’re worried about cutting off your escape, leaving will be real easy when you’re done." Commandramon couldn't help reprimanding her either, though at least he was almost respectful about it. "The notice that brought you here made this requirement perfectly clear. Your sense of morality is your own, but see you don't attempt to halt anyone else from completing the objective. If none of you have the nerve or the chance to erase that digimon, this mission will be considered a failure. That goes for everyone." Tatsu's queries seemed to improve his mood, however. He actually cracked a smile for once. "The only humans you'll find are yourself, the General, and an outside chance the enemy commander is attached to one - we can't completely rule that out. There is indeed a curfew in effect right now, which I'm about to address as well as distinguishing civilians from tangos. As for the Spartan trainees, I was the last to go through that rite, and I didn't know until I came home. If anyone else still there from elsewhere knows, they haven't done a thing about it. Don't jump ahead claiming an objective, though. There's more you need to know."
Commandramon looked back down at the map then. "Now, we aren't sending you in alone and forgetting about it, nor are we simply going to be spectators. No, this is an all-hands-on-deck op. From this ridge-" Tadayoshi circled a ridge west of Hildegard. "-we'll be watching your every move as best we can. We're also prepared to take direct action ourselves. Renamon?"
The fox tossed a backpack with a forest camouflage pattern toward Cion, Tatsu, and Skye. "In these packs, you'll find essential equipment for this op. First things first: open them and put the earpieces in one ear, making sure the push-to-talk button faces outside while the speaker faces in!" Renamon demonstrated with one of her own, which showed the little devices were perfectly capable of fitting even ears like hers. Assuming everyone did as instructed, she touched her ear and said, "If you can ear my voice in your ear right now, then they work." She addressed the group without the radio from then on. "I'm sure you also noticed the flare gun and two flares. The remaining piece is a laser designator. Listen up, because I will not be repeating myself!"
After demonstrating how to load and shoot a flare - and emphasizing that it's only to be pointed up - she explained, "If you pop the red flare, we will fuse into Blimpmon, a X3 digimon, and bombard your position. Do kindly take over if you use this, as his attacks are highly imprecise. For the same reason, we will not respond to this flare if we believe the risk of collateral casualties is unacceptably high."
"The green flare is a call for evacuation. Helomon, another X3, will evacuate those who can't continue the fight or any civilians in immediate danger. Helomon will also transport you somewhere else in the village if you need a quick escape or your allies need your help immediately. Both of these flares will reveal your position to the enemy, and you only have one of each per team. Additionally, air support will not be available as long as the Black Army controls the skies. Don't waste them!"
Renamon then began instruction on the laser designator use. She pointed out that the laser was invisible to most eyes, but the sight would help the user make sure it's pointing where they want it to. "This tool is more subtle. If you point the low-frequency laser at an enemy, Commandramon's infrared scope will pick it up. We will then fuse to Scorpmon, a perfect/ultimate who will then use his Silent Snipe from our vantage point ability to do exactly what the name suggests. This will almost certainly eliminate a single champion or lower quietly, and while it's unlikely to destroy an ultimate or higher on the spot, it'll certainly hurt or confuse them if they were unaware before the shot."

"Using the high-frequency laser is a request for close reconnaissance. Pteramon, a X2, will fly over the target area, building, or you if you point it straight up, and he will report everything of interest such as enemy positions, objective locations, and whatever else he thinks you should know. We believe Pteramon can fly fast, low, and quiet enough not to alert hostile air or ground units."
"Now, ideally, you won't need any of this," Yoshi interjected, "Because you'll be in our ears. You can just tell us what you want done without the need for the theatrics. We just want to be prepared in case for some reason we lose comms."
"We've also prepared a threat assessment, and I shouldn't have to explain to you just how important this is. Read it carefully, though I should emphasize this is incomplete. It would be impossible to predict every threat imaginable, after all." Commandramon proceeded to hand Skye, Tatsu, and Cion each a file folder with an individual page for each entry.
Subject: Troopmon Level: Rookie Assessment: Basic Black Army grunt. What they lack in power, they also lack in brains, but their raw numbers can still be overwhelming. Don't get surrounded, and rely on abilities that can affect multiple enemies at once.
ROE: Engage and destroy at your discretion. Loading is permitted but likely pointless and not required.
Subject: Tankmon Level: Champion Assessment: Barely smarter but considerably stronger than Troopmon. Tankmon are likely posted along main streets and around key areas. Armored and powerful, best advice is use of either overwhelming force or speedy evasion to avoid a prolonged skirmish. ROE: Engage and destroy at your discretion. Loading is permitted but likely pointless and not required.
Subject: MetalKoromon Level: Baby Assessment: In terms of combat, MetalKoromon will pose little-to-no threat. However, these digimon serve as watchers, surveillance. They're small and hard to spot, but they are bound to raise the alarm if they so much as see your shadow. Recommend avoidance and sharp vigilance as the best defense.
ROE: MetalKoromon are unwilling slaves of the Black Army. Before the general alarm is raised, you are authorized to engage and destroy at your discretion. Loading is absolutely forbidden. After the alarm is raised, further violence is forbidden except in the case of defense, and even then lethal force is unacceptable.
Subject: Megadramon Level: Perfect/Ultimate Assessment: Abundant in both numbers and power, exercise extreme caution. These digimon patrol the skies over and around Hildegard too high to see the ground well in the dark but too low for aerial travel to be safe but for very low altitudes. Their extensive numbers rule out the possibility of air support from Silence unless dealt with.
ROE: Do not engage. Given their numbers and your evolutionary constraints, battle is suicide. For the same reason, flight higher than the tallest structure in the town is discouraged. To neutralize their threat, you'll need to find a way that doesn't involve engaging them.
Subject: Hildegard Residents Level: Various Assessment: Hildegard's warrior tradition has died, but there are bound to be a few who haven't forgotten. The residents are many and diverse, but none of them share a form with any known Black Army threats. While typically confined to the residential district this time of night, be on the lookout for those who break curfew or are held as prisoners and hostages. ROE: Violence is forbidden, as is allowing any of them to die. One preventable civilian casualty will result in mission failure.
Subject: Black Army Commander
Level: Unknown Assessment: Our recon has failed to identify this high-value target. The most we can recommend is to be prepared for anything as much as possible before engaging. We suspect his termination may lead to the surrender or rout of other forces, but this is not guaranteed.
ROE: Engage and destroy on site. Load all data to prevent rebirth. While the group read up, Renamon proclaimed, "I will be leading the southwest team, callsign Gamma Element, through the tunnel to destroy the resource hoards. As a former Black Army spy, I know the inner workings and ways of the enemy well. If possible, I'll want the team that thinks it's best suited for a stealthy infiltration, my specialty."
"And I'll supervise the infiltration through the wall to bring down the tower," Commandramon added, "Beta Element should benefit from the experience I have leading operations against the Black Army, but we need a team that excels in material destruction to take down that tower."
Tadayoshi concluded, "And I'll help Omega Element charge through the main gate and deal with the prison. I'll also take over all command once the infrastructure has been destroyed. I think what I need most is adaptability and smarts to adjust on the fly, but I'm not really sure what I add like they do..."
"Don't be so hard on yourself," Commandramon calmly reassured his partner. "The General is a master strategist if ever I've seen one."
"If there are any remaining questions or concerns, now is your last chance to ask them. If not, then choose your objectives based on your assessment of your own skills! As soon as everyone is ready, we'll deploy."
"And remember: under no circumstances will you digivolve beyond perfect/ultimate level! Their destructive power is too risky for use around more vulnerable noncombatants."
Signal rules: -Red Flare: Request an aerial attack from Blimpmon (X3). Gives away your position. Will not work if civilians are in the danger zone or enemy air patrols aren't gone.
-Green Flare: Requests Helomon (X3) to quickly move or evacuate the character or civilians. Gives away your position. Will not work if enemy air patrols aren't gone.
-Low-frequency laser: Requests a silent, long-range attack from Scorpmon (X3) on a single enemy. Will not betray your position.
-High-frequency laser: Requests a fast, stealthy recon flight low over the target area or structure from PTeramon (X2). Will not betray your position.
Whenever a character uses a signal to request assistance, they will get the response (or fail to) in Mission NPC's next post. Only one character may get a response per round. If more than one character signals in the same round, the first who posted will get the response in the next round, and the next who posted will get it in the round after that.
Objective Complete!
1) Report to staging area for briefing
New objective added:
2) Choose a path based on character skills.

So most likely he'll need to stay hidden more than Valt does. No one else sent to Spartan Training grounds means he can't have Valt disguise himself as a local, and that probably won't pass anyway considering the fact that there are "unwiling scouts". Most likely they knew that Valt is not a local. Hmmm... They have no choice but to go on full stealth huh...
"...This is probably a job more suited for Kon-chan," Valt commented. "But at the same time I can't help but to think to challenge it still... So just for reminder and easier remembering, Red is for carpet bombardment, green for rescue and evacuation, laser pointer for disorientation. Do not kill and harm the unwilling scouts, the rest are fair game, except the perfect stage above, as those are not meant for us to take. Aniki, do you have any more question?"
He need more time to think honestly, but the time is pressing. He guess he'll think of some strategy on the fly. "There's one thing for sure: ...If the enemy's commander is a human... what's the order?" Ryouta asked. He can't believe he asked this, but it came from his mouth so naturally. He let the implication floats on the air, as he honestly also nauseated on the fact that he dared to say it.
"...We don't have stealth, our attacks most likely are more to direct attack, so I guess we'll take point Beta," Valt added.
"Well with that said... Resshamon, Re:Arise."
Ryouta slipped in chip to his Digivice, and soon, a small train Digimon materialized.
"Commandramon, meet Ilbert, he's a comrade and most likely can help us in rebuilding the wall. Any of his bigger form would be too easy to be noticed by the Megadramons, so I don't think we could depend on his higher forms. Even Trailmon is way too big for stealth. However, he's very fast on his wheels. If you need his help, do not hesitate to ask him."
"Pardon my uselessness this time around, but I'll try my best to be useful. Ilbert's my name, I'm proud butler of the young master."
"Come to think of it, he also have guided missiles, I hope that will help."

Cion did neither know Sky and her group nor Ryouta. However, it appeared that everyone knew of her for various reasons. The Gatomon was apparently acquainted with her brother, while the human had once been part of PROFIT as well. Considering the lack of contact she had with either, especially since the latter peers were split up due to the organizations cessation, it was not too surprising that she was not familiar with any of the faces near her. Ultimately, though granting them a firm nod and rapt smile, she did not wish to dwell on the matter as an insufferable amount of information was right around the corner.
- Hildegard - Dark Army - Lethal Force - Irrelevant Trivia - Worries - Megadramon Patrols - Purposeful Division - A Tunnel, Broken Gate & Flawed Wall - Expected Opposition - Viability Of Stealth - Ironically Boosting The City's Defense - Other Buildings - Contemporaneous Procedures - Afterwards Clear Residential Area - Free Hostages - Prevent Casualties - Vanquish & Depurate The Commander - Friendship & Bling-Bling...
Looking at the white cat that was clearly opposed to the act of eliminating a menace permanently, the CyberSagitamon sighed understandingly and folded her arms. Hearing that the bulky lad was willing to do whatever it took to accomplish this liberation as well, she acknowledged and approved of his dedication with a brief salute. This was an obvious indication that, if he was not capable of doing what was necessary in the end, she would step in to bear the burden. Shouldering the suffering of others was her life's axiom anyway, so what was one more notch in her conscience? After eons of senseless strife... nothing.
Back to the business at hand: - Unnecessary Moral Doubts - Unimporant Vacuities - Permanent Surveillance - Earpieces - Red Flare Gun Bombardments - Green For Evacuation - Low-Frequency Laser Designators For Sniping - High-Frequency For A Scout's Intel - Threat Assessments That Weren't Intimidating - Renamon Leading Gamma Element (Tunnel) - Commandramon Commanding Beta (Wall) - Tadayoshi Doing Omega (Gate)...
"Dear Yggdrasil..." Cion quietly and unintentionally moaned, her head aching from the overflow of data. No aspect had been beyond her comprehension, but that did not mean the instructions were not overkill. As a digimon who preferred precision and tactfulness, it was somewhat of a big pill to swallow. Nonetheless, she managed to forge a rough project map inside her mind, allowing her to remember the thousands of words uttered in the last five minutes. Now it was upon her to make a choice. Thankfully, the topic of maximum collateral damage was out of her set of skills.
"As an ex 'leading mercenary', I consider myself quite versed in the arts of adaptability. If the former lieutenant does not object, then my preference lies in Omega." The vulpine cyborg expressed her opinion, hoping that the feline veteran had no problems with her proclivity.

Skye had understood the reprimand, it had been mentioned in the mission description, but, still did not understand the reason why. She wanted to do this to help free the village and deliver justice, but not do an evil act herself in doing so. "This is what soldiers do after all" one part of mind would reason. "Sure they do. Protect the weak, liberate the oppressed, cannibalize souls".
Valt seemed to believe that digimon came back, always. Skye wasn't so sure though. "If another digimon stole my life and my memories, would I be truly the same person?" still though, she thanked Valt for taking her burden. And then she would turn to Commandramon. "I understand, I won't stand in the way of others to get this done".
Skye was then surprised to hear there was an outside chance that this enemy commander was partnered to a human. "Could humans be capable of this? Even so... to what end?", but she kept those thoughts to herself. Instead, she paid attention to the equipment they would be using. Skye and Hickory clipped their earpieces to their ears, while Jorge awkwardly lifted his existing earpiece to put it in that way. He eventually made it comfortable enough so that it wasn't very noticeable, and all three could hear Renamon clearly.
The flare gun would be used to summon a bombardment by Blimpmon or evacuation by Helomon. Alright, so they would have air support eventually. Skye felt a little less exposed with this knowledge, but still, they would have to remove control of the skies from the black army.
The laser meanwhile would mark out a target for Scorpmon or Pteranomon, who would be able to take out a champion level easily. Skye noted that. Already this was starting to feel like one of her old recon operations, but she didn't know whether the familiarity was comforting or worrying.
Next, they would study the threat assessments. Skye noted the enemy - Troopmon she could despatch with ease. Tankmon, well, armored targets were less of a specialty for her, so she'd aim to evade those. MetalKoromon, unwilling slaves, best evade as well, or at the least, render silent.
The main threat seemed to be Megadramon, which patrolled the skies. Of course they could not be engaged easily, Skye hoped there was a way to stop their menace though. As for the Hildegard civilians, Skye would keep an eye out for any of them that were under threat or being kept as hostage.
So then, it seemed most things were in order here. Ryouta and Valt would go with group Beta, Cion would go with group Omega, and that left the group Skye felt she was most suited for.
"Very well. Stealth would be my specialty as well" she said. She could move swiftly and silently. Meanwhile, Hickory was also adept at not being seen, what with being so small, he would be able to get to places that most others couldn't. Jorge meanwhile, he'd do his best to work with what he got, even though he thought it was irony that a Shoutmon go with the stealth team. Still though, he was tough and could hopefully provide muscle where needed, and he could take out things silently where necessary.
Well then. When Ryouta revealed Ilbert the Resshamon, Skye supposed she would be best to undertake her preparations. Remembering what she felt at the Valley of Dragons when this last happened, Skye focused inward on herself, remembering the form she would take.
"One that walks neither light nor darkness, neither heaven nor hell await me..." she thought as her body transformed.
"Gatomon digivolve to... DeathAngewomon"
Her new form revealed itself as an angelic soldier in worn battle uniform. Her face was covered by a mask, and wings sprouted from her back. She tested her earpiece to ensure it was still in working order, then, turned to Renamon.
"I would be better able to conduct operations in this form" she said, her deadly crossbow able to kill silently from a distance. Also, she thought digivolving sooner than later would be best, given that evolving in the middle of a tense moment would be suicide. However, she would be able to drop back to Gatomon at a moment's notice if needed.
"Well then, guess we're goin' after the resource holds" Hickory stated. "What... resources are we talking about here again?" he asked, needing clarification. Skye and Jorge paid attention too. They supposed the 'resources' would be able to be destroyed quickly, given how imperative stealth was.

Commandramon seemed amused by the comment about guided missiles. "I can think of very few situations in which guided missiles were not helpful. However..." The amusement didn't last long. "...In the case the commander is human, or a human bonded to digimon, your orders stand: shoot to kill and prevent rebirth. If they're human, that last part should be easy. We'll not abide these monsters no matter their kind." Though he was frowning, Commandramon managed to give that order with a startling sort of calmness and composure. "Like I said, however, it's doubtful that a human is involved here. Let that ease the nerves of the more virtuous digimon." Commandrmon couldn't help glancing at Skye then. Lucky for him, he was able to cover for it by answering her question. "As for your question, anything. Water. Food. Valuables, construction material, blankets, medical supplies... if the Black Army can sell it, use it, or take it away, then they will, are, and have. Senseless as it may seem to destroy it all instead of giving it back, don't forget that part of our purpose is future deterrence, and there's no point in extorting a settlement with nothing to take. We'll recover in time, but hopefully not before the scum move on - or, still better, shatter."
"Now you've all chosen your routes! I suppose... we're done here."
"It's time to go. Beta, Gamma, Omega, from this moment on you're Oscar-Mike." At this point, Silence was lined up across from its hired help. It was clear from stiff body language that this stalling to get to work couldn't last forever. "We're going to the ridge. You're going to the village. Do your jobs, and we'll do ours. Move out!"
Apparently, the Black Army was slowly learning. They had posted a two-'mon team of Troopmon on the group's favorite vantage point, having expected it to be used again. Too bad they apparently didn't count on just how easy Silence was able to dispatch them or just how unalert they were to begin with. While the pair of Troopmon admired the view, Silence took a position behind foliage and surrounded them. Then... they struck. "Bullet Burst!" Commandramon's rifle was loud and proud as it blasted both of the Troopmon a hail of bullets.
"Diamond Storm!" Renamon's signature attack, too, rained hell upon the unsuspecting tangos, only her weapons were summoned diamonds.
Even the normally skittish Hagurumon was called upon to help. "Deafening Gong!" The sound of his two side gears slamming into his main body made the rest of the gang cover their ears, but the Troopmon were too slow. Under the barrage, all they could do was groan from the pain of their wounds before bursting into millions of bits of data which rose toward the sky off toward the Village of Beginnings presumably.
"Isn't this supposed to be a stealth op?" Tadayoshi only emerged once the area was clear. Now he had donned a camouflage backpack, as had Renamon, in the same style as the other mission members.
"From this distance, that should have been quiet enough. Nevertheless, we should prepare for additional patrols." Those not tasked with command knew they needed to watch the rear of the squad without a command to do so. Meanwhile Commandramon, Renamon, and Tadayoshi all lay down flat and used either binoculars from their bags or a rifle scope to get eyes on the ground. Unfortunately - or, perhaps, fortunately - tree cover made the hired help near invisible from above.
The forest was so quiet that every step the team made practically seemed magnified. Every crunched leaf, every cracked stick, and every rustle from the breeze matched a jet engine in volume by comparison to the void. No moon in the sky shined light to the floor, so there was very little to either reveal the team's presence or guide their way. Hopefully this group were all decent navigators, because they had only the knowledge of where they wanted to go, their own orientation, and the memory of the map they had seen earlier.
Just before it became time for the group to split, they all heard Tadayoshi's voice in their ears. "We can't see you under the tree cover yet, but that means no one else probably can either. Guessing by time alone, it's probably time to separate. Beta, turn northeastward. Gamma, northwest. Omega, stay your heading. Your commanders' respective callsigns will be Specter, Vandal, and Sandman. We're in overwatch position now. Stay alert, communicate, be smart, and we'll make sure everyone lives through this." There was a certain sort of childlike naivete in the General's voice, almost like he was trying too hard to fit in his role. "Can I get verbal acknowledgements from everyone?"
Commandramon attacked Both Troopmon with Bullet Burst. -Bullet Burst: This digimon raises his rifle and shoots metal bullets at the opponent with a high rate of fire to deal damage. Renamon attacked both Troopmon with Diamond Storm. -Diamond Storm: This digimon summons a group of sharp diamond-shapes projectiles made of pure energy that simultaneously launch at the foe and cut them. Hagurumon attacked both Troopmon with Deafening Gong. -Deafening Gong: This digimon separates its two side gears from itself, then bangs them into its main body to produce a loud metallic clang. The sheer volume of this is so loud that it deals damage. Both Troopmon were defeated and killed. Objective Complete! 2) Choose a path based on character skills.
New objective added:
3) Insert into the village.

In the end it's killing after all. Well, he can... probably live with it. He know by the implication Valt left that he was used to this sort of mission. To be honest, Ryouta preferred to just destroy their digivice and end it there. It should be better... but Commandramon is right. Best to not think of it as work as human for now.
"Well looks like we're all ready. Aniki?"
"We can't have you evolve unless already approached the place... You're heavier than most Vmon, and most Vmon alone already heavy enough to make audible footsteps. If you go as XVmon, you can't take flight, the wings going to be a hindrance in hiding... If you go as Magnamon, most likely the glint of your armor caught their guard, so stay in your current form."
"Got it. We'll move then."
Going on the ridge might be a bit hard when it comes to navigating especially at night. Sadly, Ryouta has slightly forgotten the way to navigate in mountains. It's been a while for him, and his experience pertaining to Digital World has been erased leaving him with only about two months worth of experience. While some skills are easier to pick than the other, navigating the place with nothing but vague memories is hard. Thankfully.... There is Ilbert who already memorized the map and have built in navigation thanks to his nature as Resshamon. The small train Digimon currently hauled by Ryouta on his back like a backpack. A hundred kilograms backpack... ow.
<<We'll go northeast from here, Go straight young master>>
"Looks like that's the cue. Alright, may luck be with you guys," Valt saluted to the other four. "Loud and clear, Sandman. Specter, hope you can give us more information as we go. Here thanking you for your cooperation, over."
Ryouta chuckled in amusement. "When all of this is over, I might actually consider getting some Ranger training."
"Ranger? Like the JSDF Ranger?"
"If only, but yeah. Pretty sure that if I keep this line of work, I'll probably pass with flying colors."
"Ha, I think you'll have your rights to enter Digital World revoked if you entered military. Best just be some Agents instead," Valt joked.
"Oh yeah, that's another option."
The two might be joking around, yet they know... this probably the hardest mission to return to.

Mostly ignoring the senseless debate concerning moral commitments and a lack their of, Cion was at least glad to hear that Skye complied with her decision and took up the mantle of a stealthy infiltrator. That left the CyberSagitamon with the duty of adaptability, which was one she usually excelled at. Nimble and supportive, her abilities were likely the best to suit that role. In any case, with the amusing meme Oscar-Mike in her mind, it was time to finally get started. An entire city did not liberate itself on its own and she doubted its captured inhabitants were capable or willing to do the deed and sacrifice.
Despite their clandestine approach, the dispatching of the hostile Troopmons was rather noisy and reckless. So much for their military professionalism, although it made sense that these kids were not the most experienced when it came to anticipating future consequences. However Commandramon was right, causing the futuristic archer to keep her attention on the group's behind, aureate eyes penetrating the unadulterated with the sharpness of a vulpine predator. If not utilizing means to become imperceivable, there was a decent chance an ambush against them was avoidable.
Keeping in the thick shadows of the forest, Cion kept low to the ground, making use of her partial quadrupedalism as a fox to elegantly tiptoe through the shrubbery. It was not a pleasant experience, but necessity typically inspired creativity. With the hope that others manage do fine by themselves, she eventually received the call from Tadayoshi who informed them of their next steps. "Affirmative - Omega, over." She responded quickly, easily adapting to conventional procedures such as assuring conciseness.
Though gravely focused on her mission, she could not help herself but smile briefly. Fond memories, or nostalgia to be honest, of a world of yore returning to her consciousness. Rakiura server and the kingdom of Tyrolia... promising, but ultimately doomed by the same flaws all past and current civilization suffered. No more a servant she longed to herald something that learned from history, even that which was lost to most beings in this incarnation of the digital realm. But that... that were her ambitions which did not fit tonight's endeavor.

Post by Skye on Nov 27, 2018 9:22:36 GMT
Skye's mind was wrestling between two moralities here at Commandramon's words. One part of Skye was fixed on the fact that she was raised to believe any means of killing another digimon in a way that prevented their rebirth was the worst kind of evil; that all digimon deserved the chance to be better if they died and be reborn. That was the principal of the old DWR after all. And, yet, the other part of Skye reminded herself that the DWR was dead. Evildoers were never erased, just reset. And it got to the point where there was simply too much of them, so, thus, the old world had fallen. "Could there be results in this way of thinking?" she asked herself. After all, Commandramon had said that these digimon had done this before, and possibly been spared, yet they were now back, even stronger than before. But still. Preventing rebirth. Skye hated the very concept of it. Was there truly no other way? That this digimon, even if they were raised in the sanctuary of the Village of Beginnings, would this cycle simply happen for a third time? "Damn it..." she muttered. "What, Skye?" Hickory asked her. Skye realized she had spoken out loud when she didn't mean to, then froze up in the realization. "Ah... never mind" she quickly told the Chuumon. Also there was the thing to consider of actually killing a human, but, Skye was not familiar with many humans, so the dilemma was less of a burden on her with this. However, she did know that humans didn't come back if they were killed. And that was not an easy thing to consider either. Then Commandramon answered Hickory's question. And that only made Jorge want to ask more questions immediately. "So, we destroy the resources, rendering Hildegard inhospitable for the immediate future, especially for the civilians we're meant to protect at all costs" he said, folding his arms. "I hope once the village is liberated that you have plans to help them live on, since it seems to me if the plan is to destroy all resources in this liberation mission, we'd be leaving them to die anyway".Jorge imagined that the survivors here would be evacuated to the nearby Rosewood while remnants of the Black Army was purged, if that was the plan, he'd be content with that. But, Skye, always the soldier, frowned at her companion.
"Jorge, it isn't our place to question orders, not at this point" she advised the ex-king. "They have this planned, our job is to carry it out". Assuming the question was answered, Skye would begin the operation. While she did agree with Jorge's questions to those operating this mission, she at least agreed that the Black Army needed to be destroyed, and she would do her part in making it so, as would Hickory and Jorge. Their first act involved taking out two Troopmon that were patrolling a vantage point of the village. Skye was surprised at the sound and braced for a while, looking around, expecting reinforcements, but they never came. It seems Commandramon's theory was correct. Then came the moment to split up. While so far they had gotten away with being noisy, Skye took the next objective seriously. As Tadayoshi asked for verbal acknowledgements for everyone afterward, as Skye, Hickory and Jorge followed after Renamon, they responded as professionally as possible. "Gamma 1, message acknowledged" Skye responded. "Gamma 2, affirmative" said Hickory. "Gamma 3, message received" Jorge replied. From here on, they would follow Renamon through the tunnel leading into Hildegard, on full mission alert. The three of them would henceforth act within their mission parameters, no more and no less from here on out. A hard challenge, but, they were driven forth at the prospect of innocent digimon being released from their imprisonment. They would fight for them.
