Naturally, it was obvious to Cion that her allies were glad that she was on their side and not that of their enemies. For as comely and even mellifluous as she typically was, the vulpine sentinel was also a tremendous force to be reckoned with in times of need. Of course she only had a fraction of her potential at her disposal due to the limitations of this mission, but it sufficed for the task at hand. Still, questions lingered on her mind as she shoved the unconscious Troopmon into a shadowy corner on the wall. What means could she utilize to seal up the barricade?
In any case, it appeared that both sides of this titanic rampart were guarded with equal attention, yet the fact that she had choices available was an advantage. Listening to her clients, the CyberSagitamon nodded affirmatively, not having forgotten that they were incapable of hearing her since jammers selectively blocked signals. However for once her employer's suggestion was of great value. It was swiftly that she utilized the high-frequency laser, anticipating intel within a few moments that she would use to advance as stealthily as possible.
Cion did not wait for an answer though. Instead she crouched and observed the movement of two more soldiers that patrolled beneath her on the city's side of the concrete border. It was far away, hence the cyborg seized the chance and, with a running start, she performed a huge leap towards a spot of dense vegetation. If her arrival came through a tree then why not proceed with another? Her hookshot-belt assisted her in gracefully landing without causing a lot of ruckus. Blending in with the white noise of the dark night was her primary approach to her assignment.
Maneuvering in the shadows of flora and items on all fours was the way she continued her proceeding. Self-evidently she would adapt to whatever information she received from PTeramon as she strode indirectly to the barricade that awaited her meddling. Hopefully, if there were any crates or barrels she past by, they were filled with something that could be used to accomplish the deed.

Beta: Neither of the Troopmon were able to see the ambush coming from behind them. That meant each of them took a big hit while their backs were turned, two in the leader's case. It was a good thing that that Beta wasn't trying to immediately dispatch these two, though, because it was going to take a lot more force than that to incapacitate them on the spot. For Beta, then, there was a spot of good news and bad news given that premise. The good news was that both Troopmon, while still conscious, were both taken by surprise and knocked to the ground with loud grunts of pain. V-Magnum made but a dull thud on impact with the loudmouth's head, but Resshamon's missiles were much louder and brighter. As Ryouta gave the leader a kick for good measure, he dropped but was still conscious. It turned out his clothing, however, was fused to him like a part of himself, making it completely irremovable. Not that it mattered anyway. The jig was up. A new Troopmon on the wall above noticed the loud fracas below and looked over the edge to find intruders engaged in battle with his comrades below. "H-help us!" the downed but still-conscious leader shouted above. The response was fainter given the distance, but a good listener might have been barely able to make out, "Intruders at the wall!"
The only real saving grace was that the loudmouth had dropped his gun after getting struck in the back, so he had to use valuable time trying to crawl away and reach for it as the leader struggled to rise back up. "Beta, what have you-" Commandramon was interrupted by a chorus of alarm bells so loud together that he could hear them faintly even from his position.
The next voice in Beta's ears then wasn't Commandramon's but Tadayoshi's. "Sandman to all callsigns: they know you're there! Get ready for a fight! To Beta and Gamma, out."
Commandramon was still calm but also speaking more firmly to his group then. "Beta, you've exposed yourselves and fallen behind the rest of the team. Forget those Troopmon and get under that wall while I go offline for fusion. Specter, out."
The leader Troopmon was hit by Anti-Raid Support. The loudmouth Troopmon was hit by V-Magnum. The leader Troopmon was hit by Valt's kick. Gamma:
Jorge may have been hesitant, but he struck true. Lucky for everyone, the ghastly sight of the soldier's neck breaking didn't happen before he evaporated into dust-like data and floated peacefully away. "Well at least you did something right," Renamon reluctantly complimented from afar, "That troop would have alerted the whole town if he came to."
But Gamma seemed fail to notice the MetalKoromon clinging to the ceiling of the tunnel at its entrance despite having heard about it earlier from the patrol they just dispatched, seeing as they did not take any action against it. Unbeknownst to them, it silently transmitted what it was seeing to some remote location elsewhere in town but made no noise as it did so. The fact that the center of the tunnel collapsed, and even most of the first half behind it, meant that said MetalKoromon was buried in the end but not in time. Soon as Gamma met the end of the tunnel, it wasn't a light that greeted them but the sounds of hundreds of metal bells rapidly ringing across the city. The cacophony of bells was soon accompanied by shouting and pounding and the sounds of Tankmon rolling. In a way this was to Gamma's advantage, for the tent city they had emerged in the middle of was vacant because of it, save for one a shorter wooden watchtower shouting into a radio, "Sector G to Aerials! We have reports of intruders! Can you spot them above?" Incidentally, it was right beneath this tower where Gamma would have to emerge.
"We'll see. Standby." It was at this point that anyone who looked up and could see well in the night sky might have been able to catch a squad of three Megadramon flying a little lower than the others and starting to circle the town, though they were still but the size of birds at their altitude.
Besides that it seemed like Gamma had two obvious options in terms of routes: either the main dirt roads, which were visibly crawling with Tankmon patrols, or trying to stick to side routes that were just grass without any obstructions in their way. As they observed their surroundings, Tadayoshi called into their radios, "Sandman to all callsigns: they know you're there! Get ready for a fight! To and Beta, Gamma, out."
"Gamma, the hoards should be almost directly north of you. You'll want to look for the tallest tent in the southern half." It wasn't hard for them to see; they could even spot its tip from their current position. "The problem is hundreds of soldiers are currently looking for you. If alarms are ringing they might even know where you are already! You should still deal with air support if it's plausible, but otherwise you've got to reach the demo zone ASAP! Vandal, out."
The unconscious Troopmon was killed.
Omega:As a faint purple laser shined where Cion wanted surveyed, she heard, "Signal acknowledged, Omega. Sorry to be the textbook guy, but we can't be everywhere at once, so we're only giving help to the people who ask for it. Standby for recon." Immediately after that was when the same chorus of alarm bells as the others heard no doubt reached Cion's acute ears. "Sandman to all callsigns: they know you're there! Get ready for a fight! To Beta and Gamma, out. Omega, keep your eyes in the sky."
Cion successfully evaded any sighting on her way thus far, but she failed to find anything she could use to replace a gate. During her travels, she might have barely been able to catch Pteramon zooming over the town like a giant bullet, but his flight was so silent and colors so dark that he may have been hard to spot while whizzing by so fast (which was the point, after all). It was the voice of Commandramon that transmitted to her next. "Omega, they're setting ambushes and stepping up alertness all over town. There's hardly anywhere to go anymore that's unguarded, but they don't seem to have located you yet. You can't avoid the roads forever to get where you're going. It is the main gate, after all. But judging from their movements you should take the right path at the nearest crossroads ahead of you; it should have the lightest resistance and may even be clear. Advise you search a storage shed erected just near the gate when you get there. Recon, out."
Continuing to use her advantage of stealth, Cion would no doubt succeed in reaching that very crossroads, but the problem was it itself wasn't devoid of life. Right in the center where each dirt road met, two Troopmon were shouting with their guns raised and pointed at... a Psychemon. Poor thing was covering her head as one of them demanded, "Give us one good reason not to drop you right here!" That Troopmon's finger was on the trigger; he was definitely prepared to do it.
"I-I told you, your lieutenant demanded to see me..." she whimpered back.
"You would'a been escorted by Troopmon if that were true!"
"But they ran off when the alarms started!"
The poor girl seemed scared out of her mind, but she wasn't getting any pity from her captors even though she was down on her knees with her paws on her head. How would Cion react to this hostage crisis? Flares remaining:
Beta: Green, Red Gamma: Green, Red Omega: Green, Red
Omega called for recon on its position. Omega got a recon report.
Warning: the Black Army has taken a hostage!

As they reached the other side of the tunnel, to be greeted with alarms had made Skye, Hickory and Jorge momentarily startled, the trio taking cover just before the tunnel entrance. "W-what?!" Jorge asked, horrified. "Did they spot us?!"Skye had been too preoccupied to have remembered what had been said before. And besides, they had been under strict orders not to harm any MetalKoromon, so, whatever the hell had been there, she didn't identify. Hickory, however, did remember. "MetalKoromon!" the Chuumon snapped. And Skye and Hickory suddenly remembered too. The Troopmon had talked... they had overhead them. Either end of the tunnel! They had missed the one at the other side, and there was likely one around here too. Oh god, if there was another one here, what the hell could they do?! They were told not to engage with them, but what the hell could they do in this cramped space?! The alarms. Skye cautiously looked around the vicinity of the tunnel entrance. There were tents all around, and immediately close to them, there was a wooden watchtower. She noticed metal antennae sticking out of it, then deduced that this might be something of a communications center. Something this close... they might be able to make up for earlier mistakes here... Skye then returned to the tunnel, facing Jorge and Hickory. "I have an idea here. But first, we gotta camouflage ourselves" she said. "How do we do that?" Jorge asked, before Skye scratched the side of the tunnel, and covered herself with dirt, making her fine white fur turn to a dull brown. "W-what are you doing here?!""I suggest you guys do the same" Skye answered, making sure she was well covered. "Last thing we need is for them to catch on to your fine bright red and white scales, and your purple and white fur".Catching on, Jorge and Hickory reluctantly used the dirt of the tunnel to coat themselves in a dusty brown cover. With that done, and with Skye dulling the light of her tail ring so that it was nothing more than dirty metal, they would run and take cover under the stairs that led to the wooden watchtower, where they would sit for a moment. "Are there any more MetalKoromon nearby?" Skye wondered. But... what chance did they have? They had been so hard to find. And they couldn't harm them even so. Just... how would they proceed? Well, so long as there were no guards or impediments leading up to the stairs of the communication tower, their next action would be to try and climb up quietly, just as long as they knew what was around them.
Still though, she thought she'd best try and tell their comrades what they were up to. "Beta, Omega, Gamma here. We're going to try and deal with the air situation. Over." she said quietly into her communication piece.

Frickity frack knick knack paddywhack caddyshack... They're not downed! Ryouta clicked his tongue in annoyance. If only the 'you shall not bear arms' law in Japan wouldn't be so strict, he'd probably have at least something more useful for self defense ready for this mission! There's no time. He quickly grabbed the head honcho on the scruff of his neck and noticed that the clothes are pretty much skin. Ryouta growled. He heard Commandramon loud and clear, but for now, he'll just do something quick.
He wrestled the gun away from the head honcho. Hopefully his strength is enough to wrestle that thing away. Valt also does the same with the loudmouth's. Two of them had no luxury to deal with them. This time around they mean business. Valt quickly used his full powered V-Aura, blasting the loudmouth at point blank range. Ilbert, not having much choice, immediately rammed the downed Troopmon. As much as the order is clear to ignore them, frankly Valt and Ryouta cannot do that. They have no idea what shit is hidden under their latex skin.
Grabbing into Ilbert, Ryouta let himself dragged by the train digimon with speed higher than his own running speed. He need to bolt there immediately. Valt is on tow. As much as he want to do more, he have no idea what to do. Losing them while inside probably better than being late.
Wincing from the pain of the friction, Ryouta decided to answer the communication.
'Beta here, we fucked up. Tried to enter stealthily, but apparently not enough to make some 'mon unconscious and they called backup. As much as we want to do something else, we're a bit in predicament here."
Ryouta do understood that the moment they entered most likely they'll be in full barrage of alarm. That hopefully could bring Gamma Element some bit reprieve, albeit honestly that going to make him in trouble next. But even then...
"Valt, you go in first!"
With that as a cue, Valt increased his running speed. Hopefully they soon able to reach the hole with proper backup!

The enemy forces had already sounded the alarm due to the mingling of her affiliates? Dear Yggdrasil... truth be told Cion had not expected a lot from the other groups, especially because she was not familiar with them, but how long has it been since the beginning of their mission? A few minutes - a quarter of an hour at best? All this stealth, caution and precision of hers had swiftly become unprofitable thanks to the mistakes of her associates. Alas, there was no point in blaming them nor bellyaching internally. Difficult or not, the longer she kept in the shadows the better.
For a while, the CyberSagitamon accomplished just that without a noticeable amount of effort. With her eyes and ears on everything to assure nobody spotted her, she calmly listened to the intel her scout provided her with. Ambushes, optimal routes, a storage shed that had the potential to provide her with the means to seal the gate? That information had to suffice for the moment. Hopefully, she could utilize it to its maximum. Despite her focus on absolute accuracy, sudden surprises had the chance to disrupt her plans. Unfortunately, they did not take much time to bug her.
Covered by high grass and foliage, the vulpine mercenary quickly registered the predicament unfolding mere meters away from her. Two Troopsmons were threatening a female Psychemon. As depraved the situation at hand was it was as parlous. After all, she was obliged to prevent civilian casualties to the best of her abilities. Some Rookies were hardly a threat, but they posed the risk of undoing her secrecy. Sighing silently, she accepted this outcome and decided to act accordingly. Perhaps fortune was for once on her side.
With her futuristic bow drawn, force of will alone was enough to conjure a mostly translucent maelstrom of data centered on the trigger-happy soldier. An invisible might tore at it and its comrade, ripping them off the ground and snaring them. Not hesitating, Cion launched arrows of solid binary code at them, aiming to pierce their throats - a task that was trivial considering their lack of mobility. And although both moves did not deal a lot of damage relatively speaking, the differences in level likely undid this drawback.
Regardless, since her prey remained trapped and helpless until the CyberSagitamon's following ability, she leapt out of her cover and in sight of the young girl. With her finger on her muzzle's lips, she motioned the child to stay silent. She then pointed at herself, beat her chest and saluted to signalize fellowship. Nodding firmly, she ended the charade by wordlessly ordering the kid to hide whence she came - the dark safety of the local flora.
If everything worked according to her plan, then Cion was but a few seconds on the road. Naturally, she favored whatever granted her concealment.
- Cion utilizes Active Ability 'Translucent Maelstrom' with Passive Ability 'Data Arrow Storm'

Beta: Valt and Ryouta successfully claimed some new weapons from the Troopmon on the ground, which was easy because all of their attacks were dead on target. Closer inspection of the guns would reveal that they had two apparent firing modes and a switch to toggle them. One setting, as Gamma elsewhere had already seen, turned the weapon into a mid-range flamethrower, indicated by a small orange-colored strip. A little green strip seemed to indicate a second setting but, most curiously, the switch was able to flip into a third position which wasn't mark by any sort of color indicator.
Still neither of the two targets was unconscious, but they were far too busy writhing in pain and groaning to give chase to the men who had just disarmed them. Who wasn't too busy? A regiment of Troopmon on the wall above them. Since Valt was the first one to crawl out from under that low opening, he was unfortunately the one who would find himself in the most trouble. A squad of four simultaneously declared, "Autoshot!" as they squeezed their triggers. This introduced the group to the second of the firing modes available to them, which was simply automatic fire of metallic rounds like a typical assault rifle. Valt's issue, however, was that he was being fired on by four at once from high above with little cover to seek except some sparse but thick trees. The city of tents around them was not going to spare them from bullet fire, after all.
The good news for Beta was that all the Troopmon had to stop to reload as the remaining two emerged from the wall. They might have been barely able to hear one of them shout, "We need Tankmon down here!"
Troopmons A, B, C, and D attacked Valt with Autoshot. -Autoshot: This digimon shoots fully automatic metal bullets to deal damage.
Gamma:
Nothing prevented Gamma squad from climbing a sturdy wooden ladder about three stories up to wind up on top of what basically amounted to a square treehouse. The thing didn't even have walls, but it did have a tarp that served as a roof of sorts about fifteen feet high suspended by four poles in each corner. Just as the Gatomon almost made it to the top, however, perhaps she could hear more Troop voices from down below shouting such things as, "Where'd they go?" and, "Spread out and find them!" Skye's tail just slipped in as the sounds of footsteps ran past. Perhaps the measures Gamma took such as soiling the shiny tail ring made them much less noticeable.
They were not alone in the tower's top, however. There they'd find the voice they'd heard earlier, still screaming into a radio setup on a table in front of him. He was sure pretty focused on screaming into the microphone in front of him, too, sounding quite frightened. He didn't even turn around toward the quiet squad's approach. "The commander says to get to the north and start taking hostages! We've got alarms in two locations!" Another one acknowledged the order back, among many other indecipherable communiques all coming at once. The poor guy manning the station looked like he was overwhelmed. When he tried talking to the Megadramon again, he said, "Sector G to Aerials, anything yet?"
"Negative."
Those with eagle ears may have been able to pick up that this shrill, anxious troop had a voice that sounded very similar to Hickory's.
Omega:
For Cion, things didn't go exactly as she hoped, though perhaps given the amount of conflict she'd seen in her path it was practically about time anyway. She did indeed ensnare and wound both of the Psychemon's captors, who screamed helplessly in pain while helpless to it, but the Psychemon she rescued did not comply with Cion's order to hide. She was tense at first, but relaxed upon receiving the salute, even returning the gesture. When Cion took off, though, she followed. She must have been confident that no one was around to hear, though, because she broke the silence with, "Nice save there." She spoke low, so at least she was that prudent. "What's your deal, then? You're no local. Mercenary? Smuggler? You got the moves." The Psychemon's demeanor seemed completely different now. This wasn't the scared child Cion had rescued. This girl was much calmer and confident, and her voice seemed to drop in pitch. "We should stick together. I'll help you with whatever you're up to if you help me with some- down!"
The Psychemon grabbed onto Cion's wrist tight and tried to hold her in place long before any threat showed itself in any form. Cion's keen feline senses probably picked up the rumbling of a long line of tanks suddenly changing direction and rolling down the road they were travelling on, but she couldn't possibly have sensed them faster than the Psychemon. As the girl tried to keep Cion low in some tall grass with her, she explained, "I can hear thoughts with one of my abilities. I knew they were coming as soon as they knew. It's also how I knew you were there to save me, so all I had to do was play the scared little girl act and stall for time. It's a limited range but plenty long for me. Now listen: name's Purna, and my sister is in the prison north of here. I'm gonna get her out. If you help me, I'll help you with what you need, no questions asked. Deal?" It was only at this point that the Psychemon let go of Cion and allowed her to make her choice. Maybe she would remember that she had to go to that prison anyway as well as that letting this girl die was unacceptable, but would she consider this Purna to be in greater danger with herself or alone?
Troopmons E and F were both trapped by Transluscent Maelstrom and wounded by Data Arrow Storm. Flares remaining:
Beta: Green, Red Gamma: Green, Red Omega: Green, Red

As Skye, Hickory and Jorge made it to the top of the radio tower, the three of them remained still, as silent as possible as they looked upon their surroundings. Some Troopmons below passed by, but did not notice them. Skye was relieved that her dirty fur and tailring had hopefully prevented their detection. For a moment, they would listen to the radio operator, crouching so that they would remain unseen. However, Skye tapped Jorge's shoulder to gain his eye contact. When this happened, she pointed to her own eyes, then pointed outside. Jorge, watch our backs she tried to mime. The Shoutmon nodded, then turned his head to watch the ladder, understanding her instructions. Not a sound was made as this happened. Meanwhile, Skye and Hickory listened to the radio operator. They noted that he had a voice similar to Hickory's. The Chuumon exchanged looks with the Gatomon, and both seemed to be able to pick up on the idea of what to do here. Skye tried to confirm by first pointing to her claw, then pointing to the operator. Hickory gave a nod, plucking at his collar as he realized what he needed to do here. However, he gave a determined look with his blue eyes. He thought of something that should work here. Skye then would proceed silently, her padded feet making no noise as she slowly moved behind the operator. Then, she readied her claws, and in a swift, decisive motion, aimed a Lightning Paw straight at the back of Troopmon's neck, using the attack at full speed.
Whatever was left of the Troopmon after that, Skye would drag away from the radio set. Hickory would then quickly take over the microphone. Knowing that every word he said here could mean their life or death, he took a deep breath, activated its voice, then squeaked with all the horror he felt right now. "EMERGENCY! Sector G to all Aerials! New intelligence just in from recon!" he screamed, trying to sound like the Troopmon. "A large enemy force is approaching from the direction of Terminus City!! 7 to 12 Ultimate levels at the least, and double that of Champions!! Reports confirmed that current intrusions in the perimeter is just a distraction! Main enemy force currently spotted 30 to 40 klicks, bearing 250 degrees West-South-West! All Aerials move to engage!!"For a moment, Hickory considered giving instructions about releasing the hostages, but thought against it. No way would such an instruction like that following what he had just said would make sense. He, Skye and Jorge would simply hope that they had at least removed the aerial blanket covering the town.
Skye uses Lightning Paw on the Troopmon, aiming for the back of his neck, using it at its full power.
Lightning Paw - Skye leaps forward and delivers a strong punch to an enemy. She has the option of increasing the speed of her attack by 50% by increasing the cooldown by 1 turn.
[Lightning Paw cooldown: 0/1]
Hickory attempts to distract the Megadramon force by diverting them to counter a reported enemy force.
Jorge keeps watch on the ladder and approaches.

Although the core aspects of her plan had worked out, the presence of an uncontrollable factor such as the Psychemon was certainly to Cion's dismay. She had clearly not expected the girl's calmness after her near-death experience, though it appeared that her fosterling was more competent in manipulation and combat than it seemed at first glance. However, she CyberSagitamon still frowned at her, pleading with the child to do as instructed and hide somewhere so she could complete her mission in peace and with utmost focus. "I..." She started to answer before the command to take cover entered her ears.
The proceeding tumble was followed by a hushed groan. Briefly, the desire to slap the impudent kid came to her mind, but upon perceiving the approaching machinery of war her attitude quickly changed. Placidity returned to the vulpine sentinel as she kept in the shadows of the dark night and high grass, grateful for her new acquaintance's initiative. If it was not for her, they might have spotted her, severely raising the difficulty of her current task. Her supposed allies already had done a fine job making it increasingly complicated for her, so one less hindrance to worry about was appreciated.
Calmly listening to the strangely colored nature spirit, Cion internalized the information she received. A digimon that was capable of reading thoughts from a distance was potentially of incredible value as a scout. If nothing else, it would make sneaking around and anticipating the movement of enemies much simpler. And it was not like the prison was not a destination of hers to begin with. Perhaps a change of sequence was a decent idea, even if it meant abandoning the gate for the time being.
.o('Very well, Puma. We have a deal.')o. The female fox thought, utilizing her partner's ability to read minds to her advantage by decreasing the amount of noise made. Getting back up on her paws while crouching, she gazed with her aureate eyes at the Rookie and nodded confidently. .o('I am Cion, a hired liberator. Let us sneak to your sister in lockstep. I take it you know of a save route?')o. She introduced herself before kindly awaiting suggestions of her temporary ally. The anthropomorphic fennec had no intention to boss the miss around.

"Wuoh, uwoh!" Unfortunately for him, Valt was the one who got attacked first. There's no escaping this one. Valt sprinted too fast, and if he stops, he would get damaged by more of that attack. Luckily, he was able to activate his buff right on time. The dragon quickly backflipped. His increased strenght and speed was all he need to dodge most of it... yes, most. He actually got hit by several bullets, but thankfully it's nothing but graze wounds. One in particular hits his shoulder, but it was nothing. He can scoff at this. Valt quickly shifted the gun to full auto mode and let the bullets loose! It's a distraction at the moment. He just want to get inside that wall quickly!
Inside, Ryouta might have lost his draconic senses, but he can hear what the Troopmon said. At any rate, they need to hide. As much as Ryouta want to find the cement, at the moment he's a sitting duck. He need either Ilbert or Vat to back him up, especially if he ended up encountering the said Tankmon.
"Ilbert, we'll go look for the Cement. That's fine with you, right? OK, let's go."
With the gun now set in full auto mode, Ryouta decided to use Valt as distraction. Valt too understood. Thankfully they still can communicate.
"Valt, Tankmons soon will come. Get ready to evolve. I heard some indistinct communication, but I can't really understand it. Whatever the case, don't use flashy move for now. The air recon might be still around, over."
Ilbert meanwhile tried to scan on the ground for any Meta Koromon. Those are nasty. He sure he doesn't need to deal with them on top of dealing with the Troopmons. For now, they decided to use the shadow of any nearby construct to stay hidden.
Action: Valt used Dragon Warcrry. Increased speed and strength made it possible for himm to dodge... but not fully. He got hit by a bullet on his shoulder and few grazing wounds, enough to draw bloods. Valt shot full auto mode at the wall guards to prevent them from shooting him, mostly as distraction, and attempt to enter the hole.
Ryouta and Ilbert decides to use this mayhem to once again sneak by using shadow of any nearby construct. Ilbert is on lookout for any Metal Koromon on the ground.

Beta: Ilbert wouldn't find any MetalKoromon on the ground, nor in the trees nor anywhere else. Perhaps they all did the smart thing and ran away when a battle broke out, or they could have been ordered gone to keep out of the way. In any case there was nothing left for Ilbert to find, meaning he could focus on the battle before them (or whatever else he decided to set his mind to).
Valt's weapon fired with a sharp crack but a very light recoil in his hands despite a very high rate of fire. All of the Troopmon high above him were forced to duck back, undamaged but also unable to shoot back while Ryouta sought cover. The bad news was that the ammo ran dry very, very quickly; without a Troopmon to use its abilities to create ammunition and reload, the bullets ran dry before Valtcould even let go of the trigger, letting him know he was out with a couple of dull clicks. At least he had bought himself some time.
Even though all of Beta was behind the wall while Troopmon were cowering for their lives, reinforcements arrived about then: a squad of four Tankmon rolled in from four different directions and surrounded Valt, the digimon who was drawing the most attention. The Tamer had wisely taken cover out of sight behind one of many Troopmon tents in the area, but as the seconds passed without further fire the Troopmon above Valt reappeared and pointed their guns at him from above while the Tankmon maneuvered to pin him against the massive barrier from behind. "Don't move! Throw up your hands!" one of the tanks demanded, "You're outnumbered!" Ilbert, too, was inside their perimeter, unable to escape from the massive firefight that had started here.
It didn't look good for Beta right about then, but despite this Commandramon had good news to share: "Beta, Specter here. We don't know why, but the Megadramon have all vacated the area! We're authorizing direct action air support, evacuation flights and aerial bombardment for all callsigns."
Well maybe that was nice, but the air force didn't appear to be Beta's greatest concern at the moment. They were boxed in by powerful foes. What could they do? Troopmons A, B, C, and D all evaded Valt's automatic fire. Valt has run out of bullet ammo.
Gamma:
The trio picked for stealth seemed to have shaped up very quickly. Hand signals made no noise and gave the group a few seconds more to enjoy without staring down the barrel of a gun. Given Skye's quiet approach and powerful punch, the only noise that was made were the dull thud of her fist colliding with the back of a Troopmon's neck, the stiff grunt of a Troopmon hissing in agony, and sharp crack when his head was thrown into the table he was standing in front of.
There was no thud upon impact with the wooden ground, for his body's data didn't hold together long enough for gravity to give him that additional injury. The dispatcher was dispatched. Even better, there was too much yelling and noise below, as Jorge could no doubt attest, for anyone below to have heard the engagement. No one attempted to climb in response. The real hero of this stage of the battle, however, was the puny little mouse earlier targeted for being 'the weak one.' It was hard to doubt his utility to the group given the response his damn fine acting got back: "Aerial 1 acknowledging. Theta Squadron, form up!" Perhaps someone looking to the sky would see some of the Megadramon gathering over the tallest tower in the village, the commander's headquarters. "Tau Squadron, point-3-3! Lambda, point-6-5!" Two more Megadramon clusters formed. "Execute formation niner! All squads moving to intercept and engage, Sector G. Aerials, out." All three of those clusters started to fly away from the town before the good guys' eyes in the exact direction Hickory had just ordered them to. They were fooled.
"Gamma Element, Vandal here. Good news: the skies are clear. Silence's direct-action air support is now authorized. Whatever you just did, good work for once. Don't get cocky just because you're ahead of the rest of your team though. Out." No doubt Gamma remembered their original destination was north, toward the giant tent housing valuables, but there was still the problem that a whole lot of enemies were searching the area for Gamma. Even worse, one apparently found them somehow. The wall closest to the radios stopped existing when a Tankmon's shell blasted it to nothing. "They're in the tower!" shouted the armored digimon that Gamma could now make eye contact with. While he was reloading another shot, though, the structure beneath the trio's feet began to rumble and shake. They had better get out fast, or it was falling backward away from the shot and dragging gamma down with it!
The radio dispatcher Troopmon was hit by Skye's Lightning Paw and killed on the spot. Tankmon E attacked the wall in front of Hickory with Tank Buster, blowing it up and knocking the tower down.
-Tank Buster: This digimon shoots an explosive shell to deal damage.
Omega:
"If I knew a safe route I wouldn't need your help, now, would I?" It seemed this Psychemon did not share Cion's respectful attitude, at least not judging from the snide in her response. "We'll cross that bridge when we get to it. Whatever you're up to's probably closer, though, and I don't wanna spend any more time out here than we have to. It'll be shorter if we do your thing first, and it might be helpful if it draws guards away from the prison, too." These are the reasons Purna listed for insisting Cion stay on mission.
On their way, Tadayoshi would call in her ear, "Guess who, Omega? Someone just cleared the skies, so those flares aren't just a waste of space anymore. That's all. Out."
Luckily, earlier recon had already shown her the quietest route, though 'quiet' had become relative since alarm bells were blaring all over town. Nevertheless, the stealth skill Cion had so far demonstrated combined with the early warning system following her around meant that both digimon were able to safely make it to the gate, still wide open and still blocked by four menacing Tankmon who were now facing away from her. Perhaps four champions were about on the level with an ultimate like Cion, but direct engagement was a risk while she had a rookie civilian in tow.
Still, it became apparently quickly she couldn't just leave them there either. If Cion followed advice to find a supply shed which turned out to be the size of a large house, there she would find all the tools necessary to fit two twenty-foot tall metal gate doors into place. The problem? It was highly unlikely the Tankmon squadron was just going to let her do it and relax. "There's no one here but them," Purna advised Cion as they peered inside the shed, "Are you gonna fight them? Who hired you, anyway? Since when does anyone else care about this tiny little village?" "...Well, looks like we're in trouble eh..." Ryouta commented. Drats, they're just about to slip away too... looks like they can't slip away that easily... To give up, or to risk Aerial Bombardment helping? Ilbert can go up to Perfect stage, but he's not sure that he could fight them. There are not just one, but quite a lot of Megadramon up there... If it's just one then at least Valt could go against it, but...
Ryouta decided to raise his hands slowly, looking a bit frustrated. But at that time, the radio blared and his expression changed. Had it not for his mask they probably could see how he looked hopeful for a split second. The wind is blowing to a favorable direction. Valt who also heard it licked his lips. Two of them have the same thought. At that very moment, Ryouta understood what to do.
The first light shine came from Valt who immediately evolve to XVmon and took flight. However, the second light followed. Ilbert also evolved himself and is now Locomon. Ryouta has taken the moment to dive directly into Ilbert's compartment.
Perfect stage, perfect for bunking. He can't attack at the moment, but that doesn't matter.
Meanwhile, on the top, Valt already building momentum. His speed is meant to launch a wide area attack. The wind gathered and soon would form a sizable tornado. The moment he stopped, the tornado closed, which would then lead to explosion of wind. Normally, this would definitely hurts Ilbert a lot, but now that he's a perfect stage, he's good to stop Ryouta from getting hit by the attack.
Action: Ilbert evolves to Locomon
Ryouta enters Ilbert
Valt evolves to XVmon Valt executes Cyclonic Tempest. 20m radius AoE, centered around Ilbert Ilbert took damage

Skye and Hickory waited with baited breath to hear the response to the Chuumon's message. Skye put a paw to her mouth to muffle her exhalation of relief as it seemed their ruse had worked!
Jorge meanwhile kept an eye on the scene on the grounds below. Enemy digimon were searching for them, but didn't seem to spot them so far. Still, he couldn't get complacent. He glanced up at the Megadramon, wondering if they were forming up to attack the tower, but instead, headed out to the west. Jorge managed a smile for now.
Gamma confirmed what they had done, and it seemed they would now have the ability to request air support. Skye acknowledged this, remembering their next objective, to destroy the supply cache. Her plans to escape through the ladded were hampered somewhat when Jorge suddenly screamed "GET DOWN!!"
The explosion destroyed the wall and the radio, and the blast wave sent Hickory flying. The shrapnel and debris flew everywhere. It took all of Skye's effort to catch the Chuumon.
"Hickory!" she cried, hoping he wasn't too hurt. It was bad. His jacket was ripped where the shrapnel struck him, data rising from his wounds. Hickory tried to talk, but could only manage whimpers of pain. Then the command tower seemed to teeter dangerously, almost on the verge of collapse.
"Damn it!" Skye seethed from their predicament. There was no time to climb out down the ladder, it'd all come tumbling down in seconds. She had no choice. The moment of crisis made her focus, once again, she digivolved wordlessly.
As DeathAngewomon, Skye's wings stretched out. She ran to the entrance, still holding Hickory, then grabbed Jorge in her other arm, flying down to the ground. She gently dropped them both once her feet touched the ground, then faced the Tankmon, raising her weapon.
If they let the Tankmon live, he could ruin everything. Let the others know that Hickory's broadcast was a lie and recall the Megadramon. Rally up reinforcements and search for them. So Skye did the only thing she thought she could here.
Tankmon had armor on his head, back, and over the tracks that propelled him. However, his jaw and chest was unarmored, and that was where Skye aimed.
"Death Cross" she whispered, then aimed a shot straight at his jaw, aiming to kill.
Hickory is injured by the blast from Tank Buster.
Skye digivolves to DeathAngewomon to gain the ability of flight. She flies out of the falling command tower, carrying Jorge and Hickory to the ground safely.
Skye attacks Tankmon with Death Cross, aiming for his jaw and chest.
Death Cross - Skye aims her magic crossbow, charges it with energy, then fires a powerful, precise shot at the enemy. [Cooldown: 1 turn]

Huh... the girl's mindset was a bit volatile for a psychic, was it not? Nonetheless, Cion had no problem adapting to whatever it was her mammalian acquaintance preferred. If keeping on track was the better option in her opinion then she gladly obliged. .o('I Intend to blockade the gate. Do you know of ways to do that?')o. She calmly explained and asked through her mind, wondering if the kid was aware of a direct way to solve the assignment. If not, then she had to continue with this silly cat-and-mouse game that solely existed due to ill-prepared plans - as to be expected from children trying to be war heroes.
Putting a talon against her earpiece, the information the vulpine mercenary received was at least somewhat pleasing. Unfortunately, thus far she did not see a reason to utilize a flare or another laser, doubting that a bombardment was a good solution to creating a sealing, unless the projectiles were made out of tar pitch. Still, the fact that hostile air support was out of the way calm her greatly. Nodding firmly as she turned to Puma, the time had come for them to proceed and hopefully bring a quick end to his warlike madness. The quicker the completion the sooner a cup of steaming tea awaited her.
With the great assistance of her temporary partner, the stealthy duo managed to reach their destination, which amusingly was a large hole in a piece of concrete. Cion remained perplexed, seeing not much point in undoing this entrance, but if her employers hired her for that then who was she to ask? To her dismay the couple of Tankmons had no moved since her skillful crossing, meaning that they had to be removed somehow. Combat was a possibility, though that meant both risking the Rookie's safety and rendering her previous efforts irrelevant.
Thankfully the storage shed contained everything she needed to turn the undertaking into a reality. Nevertheless, how was she supposed to accomplish all at once without acquiescing to a huge risk for herself and the Psychemon? .o('I don't know yet. Do you have other suggestions? ... As for those who commissioned me... considering they enjoy code names, maybe you've met a certain 'general' of your home before.')o.

Beta: Valt correctly deduced that high-altitude flight had become safe. No Megadramon got in his way as he took to the skies, even after he went and made a spectacle with a giant tornado in the middle of a military camp. No one could stop the dragon from digivolving or summoning that typhoon, in fact. The Troopmon on the wall just above Valt (well, below now) didn't stand a chance against it. All four of them got blown off the wall, and while Valt probably couldn't see exactly what happened after that, it was also probably for the best: it was a safe bet that between that powerful attack and the height of the fall, their numbers were up. Further evidence of this was the loud screams they gave out which were soon followed by the sound of silence.
But the Troopmon didn't fall so easily. They were all able to more quickly roll backwards out of range and ride out the storm. They survived to launch a counter attack. "Focus fire on the cabin!" was the order one Tankmon gave. The others obeyed, which lead to eight cannons all becoming trained on one spot of the Locomon's hull. Four voices simultaneously declared, "Double Buster!" before each of their main arm cannons shot a high explosive shell, at the same spot on Ilbert.
The strategy was obvious: drop the human, and the rest will fall in line. Troopmon's A, B, C, and D were hit by Cyclonic Tempest. They attack blew them off the wall, making them fall to their deaths.
Tankmons A, B, C, and D avoided Cyclonic Tempest.
Tankmons A, B, C, and D attacked Ilbert with Double Buster. -Double Buster: This digimon fires two high explosive shells out of its main arm cannons. Cooldown: 1 post.
Double Buster must cool down: 1 post remaining.
Gamma: Maybe the Tankmon's head and upper body were unarmed, but the top of his head and ends of arms were not. To shield himself from the arrow, Tankmon lowered his head and crossed his arms in front of himself. It turned out the former was the bigger deal: Skye's arrow did stick fast even in that thick armor, and the Tankmon who it hit howled in agony. However, he did not fall. The magic arrow may have momentarily disappeared, but the giant crack in the Tankmon's head did not. He was wounded - heavily - but not dead. And he was still loaded. "Triple Shot!" Both arms, and the head cannon, all took aim at the digimon who had wounded him. Soon as they were trained, all three barrels fired on the death angel who had wounded him.
Tankmon took partial damage from Death Cross. Tankmon attacked Skye with Triple Shot. -Triple Shot: This digimon fires three high explosives shells at once out of all his main cannons to deal massive damage. Cooldown: 3 posts.
Triple Shot must cool down: 3 posts remaining. Omega:
"I'm a psychic, not a a miracle worker," was Purna's answer to Cion's first question. Getting the gate sealed wasn't her personal problem, after all. "It's not like I got a bird's eye view of the place." She sure was being rude, wasn't she? Her tune changed real fast, however, when Cion mentioned a general. At first she was just confused. "I don't know anything about a general. There was the captain back then, but I heard he was killed a little after meeting a human g-" That was when she put two and two together. "You're with the resistance! They're alive!"
Whoops. Purna shouted a little too loud. She knew it, too, because she heard one of the Tankmon wonder to himself who that was talking. Purna tried to jump back, but there was just nowhere close enough to hide before one Tankmon peered over his shoulder and noticed her. "Hey! Who's there?" He was a little too slow to turn to launch an attack at her, but he begun to turn and face her, several loud clicks letting all present know he was arming his cannons. The other three were just noticing, too, and followed suit.
"Wuh-oh! Cion!"

Skye seethed through her teeth in frustration at the fact that she had failed to land a killing shot. As Tankmon aimed for a counter-attack, she felt she had no choice but to launch herself into the air, her wings spreading. Tankmon aimed three shots at her. She tried her best to evade, but one shot grazed her wing, and another struck the side of her torso. She bit her lips to prevent herself screaming in agony. However, the shots were not fatal, and she fully intended to retaliate. Skye raised her weapon, aimed downward, then silently fired her Hell Crossfire attack, launching a burst of magic quarrels at the target. Then Jorge added his presence as well. The Shoutmon rushed at the Tankmon while he was engaged with Skye, his mic staff in hand, then he aimed an attack with all his might at the place in Tankmon's armor that had been cracked. Hickory meanwhile laid still on the ground, still dazed from the blast in the radio tower. Following this, if their attacks were successful in knocking out the Tankmon, Skye would then try to advance toward their next objective - the storage building, and Jorge, carrying Hickory, would follow. They would attempt to be swift and careful about it. Skye hoped there would be a place to heal, the pain was agonizing from where she was hit. But since it had come from a digimon a level lower than her, it wasn't as serious as it could have been.
They would be careful to not run in the open, sticking to cover wherever possible. Hopefully the fact that they were still covered with dirt would hide them a little better.
Skye is hit twice by Tankmon's Triple Shot.
Skye uses Hell Crossfire on Tankmon from above.
Hell Crossfire - Skye changes the mode of her crossbow, making it fire a rapid burst of energy like a machine gun. Deals area-of-effect damage to those standing within 25m of the target. [Cooldown: 1 turn]Jorge uses Rowdy Rocker on Tankmon, aiming for the crack in his armor.
Rowdy Rocker - Jorge conjures his mic staff and aims to bash the opponent with it, dealing melee damage.
