A flying taxi carrying a royal guest landed on the parking space near the entrance. Hikaru would soon disembark from it, without holosuit and all, but with cane, mantle, his usual kilt and traditional hat, Today, he's wearing a small glasses he put on the bridge of his snout. Looking at him like this it makes him looks like an aged gentleman. Well to not look so old, he purposely made his glasses trendier looking though!
He started to walk to the entrance and gently extended a paw out. "Been a while since our last meeting isn't it, little Omen? But don't worry, for today, you have the monopoly on your grandfather, heh heh heh~ Well then, today there won't be anymore interruptions! Don't worry about the locals, they're already informed about my appearances. They will also ask the tourists to be more prudent, so no one will interrupt us."
...And in case they does, they'll be removed immediately thanks to some "shadows"
"Well then? Shall we? What kind of places do you want to go to first? I'll follow you all the way. Today is the time where we can just hang out as much as we please, and enjoy family bonding time!"
It will be a good night, hopefully! Not all day that his granddaughter could visit after all! So he'd like to give her a great memory of the city that he leads, along with all the beauty and warmth it have to offer.

Omen came from individuals from a variety of backgrounds. As a result, this led to a rather volatile temperament sometimes. She had come close to exploding at people a few times, but all of those were when time that could have been spent with her grandfather had otherwise been wasted.
By people who can't seem to understand what basic damned manners were.
"It has." The Wispmon stated as she hopped out of the flying taxi, her tail-claw extending to take her grandfather's hand. "I guess that's nice. It's better than hearing about how that other Dorumon has two dads or something--or Kenny and Skadi being Kenny and Skadi. I do wonder if some of my actual friends are around here, though. I've never been to a festival before, so...I guess I want to enjoy it with them sometime."
That was detracting from what we were REALLY here, for. "Mom said the museum was pretty okay the one time she went with Uncle Steyr...But, I think I want to walk around. See the city through my own eyes rather than borrowed memories." Omen nodded. "Do you have any particular favorites, grandpa? I'm. A little curious."
Her inflection sort of took some Kappy-like qualities at the end there.
"Perhaps they are, dear," Hikaru mused. 'Even if they're not, perhaps you could just invite them. Probably they'd like to. The festival is pretty long. I hope, this city will be as homey as it is to your actual home. I wanted to make a city as welcoming as possible, that was my biggest desire, yes."
Walk around and see the city with her own eyes, is it? "Fufu, I see, that's wise. Sometimes you have to experience thing by yourself and find the charm yourself. Probably you will agree with the other, probably not. As for me, hmn... Let's see..." The two walked some distance before he pointed at a sizeable building. "This I guess. This is Ys' music and theater hall. I personally, really love the music and performance they do here. They tend to take some classical human literature and add digimon-y twists in it. Apparently it have been very well received. Alas, the theater is not performing today, but there are some classical opera. Would you like to listen to that instead? If you want, we can go there... ah, and, let's not forget snacks if we do!"
Some strange idea to nom on snack in a musical performance, but apparently that's just how it is for Digimons.
"Mine happened to be half cheese butter pop corn and half chocolate caramel pop corn. What about you, Omen? Got any snacks that you like?"

That gave Omen a moment of pause. Perhaps she could invite them, yes. But who would want to-...Oh, that was easy. Maybe she could send Nanami a message? She'd likely enjoy herself. Maybe even Mocha could find something to do here.
But this was a thought to pursue later. Something she would most assuredly not forget any time soon. "Home...Mmm. I am unsure. I spent a lot of my early life as a transient Digimon. Home was wherever I had my feet upon. It feels strange to just suddenly call two places a home...Though, a part of me does...feel safe here. Like I've always been and belonged here."
Was this how Mae felt? Nowhere was her home? ...Was this all she was? Just repeating herself?
"...Are they showing I Want To Be Your Canary today? I've heard that that one's a very timeless piece of art that a few troupes and opera groups spend lifetimes trying to perform good..." A pause.
"I've never had those before. But I do like chocolates--I spent a day eating a crapton of the Cutemon named Selene's chocolates. ...Wait, no, not Selene...The one they call Coolmon. She gave me and Ettie and Anne a lot and they were pretty nice--cookies and cream were my favorite. So, shall we see what's playing?"
Looks like Omen herself kind of thinking who to invite huh. That makes Hikaru happy. Having friends is indeed the best. However, her next words was different. Understandable. Hikaru nodded. "Dear, there's this... wise words, I guess, that written in old Ys document. 'Home is where heart is'. It's not necessarily where your body ends in, but as long as you feel you're safe, comforted by the warmth of its people and atmosphere... and feel that you truly belong and happy... that is home. A traveller does not quite need a house, but home? Even traveler will eventually find a place they could call home. Home, I guess... is state of mind when it's at its harmony."
Hikaru gently pats Omen's head. "There's no need to force yourself to be sure whether this is home or not. Even when you feel that this place is not your home, then at the very least, your grandpa will try to make it even more welcoming for you. So that you can come here anytime you want. But the fact that you feel safe and belong in here, then that makes me happy."
Hikaru tilted his head. "Well now that's a classic I haven't seen a lot of time! Only twice or thrice! It's really a great one, definitely! I thought it's more to theater than opera tho--- Hm--!? Wait, you're right! By Homeostasis! It's really airing tonight and is starting in 20 minutes too! No wonder the theater is closed! They're doing a collaboration apparently! Let's go then Omen, dear! We must see this, especially the best of the swordfighting act!"
Hikaru quickly entered with Omen on tow. "Greetings!" he greeted the clerk. "Two royal passes for me and my granddaughter! Oh, and... let's see, popcorns, the usual, and a basket of assortment of cookies with cream! For the drinks or any extra order, is it fine to ask for an attendant?"
"That would be fine, Your Majesty." the Candmon bowed. "Please go right ahead. The troupe will be very happy to be graced with your presence."
Hikaru would immediately climb the stairs to the highest podium, which is apparently the royal seating. While inside the booth, he clapped to summon a grand chair that would fit for himself if he were an Alphamon. But seeing that today he's a Dorumon, Hikaru motioned to Omen to sit..
"Would you like sit on my lap? Or perhaps beside me?"

"I've seen such a statement written down practically everywhere I've gone in the Digital World. Home is where the heart is. So...Maybe my problem is I don't know where home is. Maybe I just don't know where my heart is. So I can find that harmony."
The Wispmon was warm. And she notably had her hood down for a change--Hikaru was likely one of the few people that ever got to see such a thing. "Oooooh...I wonder if Tantalus is doing this one. Those guys are usually pretty cool." Omen noted, before she would dart after Hikaru to get some tickets.
Being called royalty felt odd. Though, Omen had been informed of the fact that given her mother that wasn't a depression-napping Meicoomon was Hikaru's daughter she -was- royalty...That didn't really stop it from feeling so...so strange. "Thank you for the help, Mr. Candmon." Omen told the clerk before she followed Hikaru once more. She made the answer known by hopping up to sit next to him, watching the stage intently from the big Alphamon chair.
I'll sit on something like this one day.
"So, do they show up at the 15 minutes left bit...?"
"Heart is... a complicated matter, dear." Hikaru admitted. "If I were to claim that I'm master of the heart, then surely I will never err, but no. That's... not true. Your grandfather here, I mean me... has made several choices... that are against what his heart told him... and in turn, he either misses something, or sometimes he lost something important... Do not feel alien that you don't know your heart. After all, "voice of the heart" is not something that people could hear all the time."
Tantalus eh? "Might have been! But even if it's not Tantalus, then I'd say... that our troupe probably won't be far behind them, or even neck to neck even~?" there's a lot of pride behind the king's words. A king that's so sure of his people, that is what Hikaru is.
"Yes, they will declare what we'll be watching. Afterward, they will narrate the opening act..."
And so it began. The music started to play, and the narrator addresses the guests (and a quick addedum with the king's appearance). Hikaru stood from his chair and walked toward the edge of the booth, to show his face. There were cheers and some clappings while Hikaru nodded and smiled. He threw some waves as he got addressed. It's up to Omen to also come with her grandfather or not. Hikaru personally would not put her on spot if she's uncomfortable.
Afterward, he would return to the seat. An attendant came in with the drink and snacks.
"Apparently there are some guest appearance from Tantalus. Interesting! But this time around they said they will play the supporting role instead. That's an interesting twist because usually guests would like to play the main role."
Hikaru's tail wags slowly, as if giddy and in excitement. "Ah, it started, it started. Here, Omen, if you need any telescope."
Hikaru personally doens't quite need telescope to catch the details considering he's a dragon after all. He can zoom on them pretty easily, just as good as a telescope. The audio however, was thankfully enhanced, so there's no problem on that front.

"...That's okay. People make mistakes all the time. Even mom's not infallible." Was all Omen really had to reply to that. Sure, Hikaru had told her not to feel alien, but...It still made her worry, though. People who couldn't hear the voice of the heart...?
That scared her. That scared her a lot more than it really should have. But she had to put on a brave face for her grandfather. "...Oh! What if it's a collaboration? That'd be pretty cool." Omen pondered the thought for a few moments before she decided to buckle down. Yes. The Ys-Tantalus collab would probably slap harder than any anime opening her mom could ever show.
Regardless, the play began. There was a declaration of what they would be presented with, which was indeed a play titled I Want To Be Your Canary. At the gates? Some poor Blucomon was having troubles by virtue of having a forged ticket. But that was not inside.
It would take a moment for Omen to get up and walk with Hikaru, and there were indeed a few faces who noticed her. The Wispmon naturally tried to meet them with a smile, though many were naturally wondering what a Wispmon was doing so far from the Server Woods.
"It's our festival, I think they want to give some spotlight to the younger troupe." As the play began? Omen kept watch personally. She liked the Rosewood troupe's rendition of this. She was curious to how the Ysian troupe would fare.
"....? Omen are you alright?" Hikaru asked, worriedly nuzzling his granddaughter's cheek. It seem the pause did not miss his radar. "Don't think about it too much, young lady. Let me just ask something then... are you having fun here? Are you happy being with me? Do you want to continue? As long as you know the answer to that, then it's already the first step of hearing the voice's heart."
Collaboration is indeed a nice thought. Hikaru definitely liked that. "Perhaps! We can only see, I guess!"
What happened at the booth? When Hikaru tried to look back at the ticketmaster, but the door to the royal seat has already closed. A pity. He would like to buy one for that poor 'mon if he could. The show is for everyone, and although it's very popular, he feels everyone should have the right to see it.
The Ys troupe's rendetion of the play was accompanied with surround orchestra, playing at the east and west wings at elevated angle. The master volume control appears to be some sort of partition that controls how many percent the sounds get blocked, and how many gets pass. The conductors on both sides is wearing headphone to let them know the cue for the music.
Special effects are done automatically. Perhaps they're automatons. Of course the Digimons themselves are also helping by using their own special techniques, designed to not harm their co-stars, but enough to elicit a sense of realism. It seems the duelling is taken up a notch by not just a simple swordfighting but also by using magic on the sword. The Flamon actor was...
"Oh come to think of it, that was the Ys Troupe's son. He have grown up, that one. I remembered he would often visit my bar with his father in the morning for breakfast. Hah hah! It's amazing how time flies!"
Hikaru's eyes affixed to the battle. Apparently in the setting, 'Zidane' couldn't projectile magic, and only sword magic. and thus he danced, with sparks flying from the sword as he clashed with Blank, played by the original Tantalus Blank. So this what they meant by supporting role. Certainly...
"That's quite a nice swordfighting, but the young man is still a bit nervous. I guess performing for royalties does that to you. I hope he would do a second or third round, just so he can get a feel for better acting," HIkaru mused.

What kind of question was that? Of course she wanted to continue. Of course she was having fun, this was just an outing with her grandfather without any sort of interruptions. "Of course I am, of course I do!"
But if that was the first step, then perhaps these worries were all for naught. Meanwhile, the Blucomon, seemingly a noblewoman, at least managed to explain that she had been...for lack of a better word, scammed. She did at least offer to pay for a new ticket. Would that work? God knows.
The play itself was a spectacular one, though. If there were some sort of arbitrary quota of nobles and a king that the troupe needed to impress, Omen was already one of them. The Digimon were pretty much flawlessly executing their maneuvers, with flashy special effects to boot.
"...Maybe we can ask him to do an encore or two?" Omen inquired towards Hikaru, as the swordfighting drew to a close. There were many flips and ducks to be had, but could there be more...?
Hikaru laughed merrily at the sanwer. "Then you got it already! The first step of listening to your heart's voice is to understand your most obvious feelings. Don't worry. It's a normal thing, you know... to get lost, to be unsure of your own emotions. It's complex thing... but as long as you understand that it's not impossible to understand your own heart, then all should be fine."
In the theater, Hikaru wondered if the lady from before are fine, so he asked the attendant if it's fine for them to sell her a ticket. However, the attendant would immediately say that they still have vacancy, so it's most likely that she'll be allowed to purchase ticket anyway. Hikaru... guessed that the so called "vacancy" are actually seats they added in because a show is too popular. So that's a good idea.
"Fufu, that's true. I guess we need to ask them if they can do an encore, huh?"
Hikaru waved a magic on his palm then sent it to the air. It created a spinning light that goes in a ring, a sign that the king is asking for an encore. The two immediately returned, seem to be spirited that the king is asking for an encore. However, this time around they're doing something even better. They're using the props properly. Acrobatics and taking cover. It almost like they're fighting in different place after what happened before!
"Ah, that was sly of them," Hikaru mused in amusement. "The first round, they go traditional, but this time around they spiced it up with more action. This way the audience won't think that the battle is "faked out" too much. It makes the audience wonder if there will be a third one. Should we ask for a third encore I wonder? Or will this be fine?"

Answers were something that always inevitably led to more questions. That was an invariable part of life, right? The main thing was that while it may seem difficult, or impossible, even, to understand one's own heart, the fact that it was an inevitability that one would dare to arrive at an understanding of the heart was...strangely comforting.
Meanwhile, that poor Blucomon had finally managed to secure her seat, once and for all. That was the happy ending to one story here. She wanted to watch a show and so she'd get one, especially with the king himself asking for an encore of the swordfighting.
Omen watched closely as the encore seemed to commence immediately, with much more dramatics in the form of acrobatics being employed this time, the two combatants seeming to dance a song of steel throughout the stage. "Look at how much they're jumping! ...I think they're unsafe doing that on the railing, too! I think calling it at one encore's good enough, um...They might get tired. And unlike this one play I saw in Rosewood, I'm pretty sure there's no 2nd Adler to save our hero here."
"Fufu, that's true. They're probably a bit too excited with the king aslomg fpr am encore. i'll leave it to them whether they want to encore or not. As for the meantime..." Hikaru clapped giddily at the performance given. This is a sign for the performer that the qu-- i mean king is very impressed. "Mr. Attendant over there? Please prepare a Stardrop."
Hearing this, the attendant bowed. Stardrop is a flower specific to the royal family. It's it's tossed to the stage if the royal family is very moved by the performance, and quite the best thing you can get! A recognization from the king!
Apparently, knowing that the king did not persue any more encore himself, the swordfight ceased and now it's scene of romance between Cornelia and Marcus. Hikaru watched in interest as they talked.
"....Speaking of which, I never knew what Mae saw in my daughter. It's not that I'm thinking lowly of Hasenya. Heavens above know how much I love her.... But honestly the two does not strike me as a balanced couple in where one seek opposite element of themselves. Nor I can see her resembled me or Owen personality wise.
Yet the princess tossed her crown for a chance to be with her beloved. She didn't ask me for my blessing though, that silly daughter. It matters little who her beloved is... what matters is that she's supported and able to support in turn, a harmony is all I request from mate of my children - That they would be part of the family too, and get along well with the rest.
I need to bap her above the head if she thought I would stop her just because she's a royal and Mae isn't. I have met Mae, and I have nothing but praises for her... well, maybe except one: That child need to be happier in this life....
...Mmm, pardon my musing, Omen, dear. It's just a complicated feeling of a father I guess. I just feel it's silly that they didn't even tell me that they're married and have daughters. So admittedly that kinda made me a bit annoyed, maybe I should send a letter to complain one of these days."

As Omen watched the duel get it's own equivalent to a standing ovation, the encores did indeed cease at her request. That was nice, that should give the Flamon a break.
100 out of 100 nobles were impressed at his performance.
The King was impressed.
The high octane action ceased and gave way to something more geared towards...romance. That was a subject that Omen found odd, namely in that it was something people saw as tragic, yet...Omen held no actual opinion on it. Or that sort of love. It was not her kind of thing at the moment, so it was...strange to be viewing this take from such a lens.
And to make matters more perplexing, Hikaru spoke a bit about her parents, too. "I...think it's more how they make each other feel. You know Mae's...history, right? She's told me a bit herself, but...she came from a very troubled background. And she trusts--truly trusts, that is, very few people. Hasenya...She told me Hasenya makes her feel safe. It's something even she's not sure she understands fully, but she's happy. And mom's also happy."
And that was what she was content with. There was something else, though...
"Well, they...didn't tell you for a reason--They didn't know we had been...made or hatched until Mae had a vision of us. And by that point we had already set out from the Village...It took Mae a while to even find us, too. Apparently that was the only vision she ever had of either me or Tomi--we're just...exempt from that. I don't know why."
After the scene of romance there is apparently a slight break for anyone who wanted to get refills, snacks or other.
Hikaru indeed was only complaining for the sake of complaining. Something that he noticed probably means he's getting older, but he wasn't expected that there was a valid reason. He thought that the two have been very much in love and so happy with each other that they forgot to tell him or Owen. This made the king's eyes widened.
".........I see, so there was something like that happened. I see..." he repeated as if he was trying to make sense of it. "...............I guess I have a theory why that happened. My guess is that... You... had her ability. Her ability is passed to two of you. To elaborate, Hikaru casts a light magic. FIrst it was a dot. "The world... is a complex thing. This, for example, is what I would call a first axis - dot." then it becomes a line "second axis - line" then a three dimensional object "third axis - surface world. This is what we see with our normal eyes. Displacement, movement, it's all within the understanding of third axis. We're third axis being by that definition. We understand how they works, and so it's easy to comprehend. We also understand how second and first axis works because we're on higher axis than them.
But as for your mother... she have the gift of fourth axis. Fourth axis is Time. Fourth axis movement is not something that we, from third axis could control. In fact, we'll be continue to move forward, like being in a boat, carried by the river. But those who could peer into fourth axis could see the past and the future plus the present. However, what does this means? Those who can see "the future" has veered into realm of the fifth axis, "Possibility". There are things that can be changed, there are things that are inevitable... but those who have gift of sight of fourth axis will not be able to read those who also have the same gift. Because at that point, they have became too irregular for them to understand.
...However, those who could read Fifth Axis is even worse, I daresay. Clairvoyance would be just a mere child play for those who could read fifth axis. Because that means they could control all possibilities themselves, and pick the right choices... every single time.
However, there's an... issue over here, you see? We're third axis being. Just being able to see passage of time alone is already amazing... but to see two axis ahead is something unfathomable. It would need to be diluted to such impure state for us to even understand how ti works. But you see...? Your Grandpa here, I guess... he have veered into Fifth Axis in the past. And it was so tasking that the only logical course of action is to apply it in a battle.
You know what is it, right? Alpha inForce. It replays action by making you jump to the past, a fourth axis movement, and then merges all action that you have taken, a fifth axis action. However, even then, mine wasn't that legendary. Mine only could make me do watered down version of that, And even then it was so tasking. The Royal Knight Alphamon apparently can do this at least fifteen times... such a busted ability, hah hah! Anyway, do you need to do anything? Need to order any extra snacks or something like that?"
