Hey, everyone! This has been an idea that's been brewing in my mind for a while when planning for things later down the pipeline. Basically, we're creating a leaderboard system for battles. I believe this will drum up a little activity, as well as get members who don't normally interact to thread together and get to know each other!
Now, when someone else wants to join the ladder, they just have to make a post in this thread. First they pick which division bracket to fight in; Rookie, Champion, Ultimate, Mega, or Super Mega. This choice can be changed each month, but for the current month is a binding decision. In addition, you can only pick among the levels you can actually reach. As a final caveat, to prevent the awkward situation of members having to fight themselves, you may only have one character in each bracket tier.
Once chosen, members will be put on the lowest spot on their bracket's ladder and would be allowed to make challenges to the next spot up on the ladder. The challenged party has one week to either accept or deny the challenge. If they deny or do not respond in time, they lose their spot to the challenger. If they accept, the two agree on a location, then have a fight that is closely monitored by a staff member.
If the challenger wins, they move up in the bracket. If they lose, they get two more attempts. A challenger can only make one such attempt per month, and after a third failed attempt, they are moved down a spot to make room for new challengers. In addition, members can only have one active fight at a time. This way, the champion can't simply be overwhelmed into forfeiting.
Powerplay and godmodding will not be tolerated. If you feel someone is cheating in such ways during your fight, let a staff member know. Even if you have doubts, its better to be safe than sorry. We won't raise a big stink out of it, just observe to help ease your concerns. If things look worrisome, we will evaluate the situation from there. A first offense will receive a stern warning and a request to undo the post. A second automatically forfeits the fight. The third bans the guilty party from the ladder. Please do not ruin other peoples' fun!
Now, for the good part! We've got some small rewards. The top battlers of the lower four brackets (Rookie, Champion, Ultimate, and Mega) recieve 3000 bits each per month, and the top Super Mega spot will receive 5000 bits and the custom title, "THE CHAMP!"
So, if you'd like to join in, make a post! Just post your name, a link to your app, and which bracket rank you would like to partake in for the month. Also, once we get the ball rolling on this, we'll have people post challenges here and match results.
