Suddenly, another buzzer sounded, different from before. It was a loud, but not too loud klaxxon lasting for a few seconds. Lilly walked back to center stage and spoke up.
"You guys keep on going, now! Don't want to waste any time! Why? Because there are only 5 minutes left before this round ends. Please take this time to finish up everything you need to do. You're almost done, but don't lose yourself, ya know?"
The Audience looked eager, seeing the desserts and taking a whiff of the delectable smells coming through.
(((Sorry, I've gotten pretty busy lately)))

As Mana waited for the fridge to do its job, she saw what every other contestant was doing about their desserts. They all seemed to be extremely focused on their recipes, and as she was about to check the first one more closely, yet another buzzer sounded; it was Lilly again, this time saying that there were only five minutes left to finish.
As she retrieved her now slightly cold dessert from the frigde, she began thinking. Although she had already thought about a way to incorporate the peach butter into her recipe, she felt that it was somewhat unshowy, and that maybe that wouldn't be enough to get to the next round. She kept thinking for a while until the proverbial light bulb on her head turned on.She had the perfect idea! She was going to use the jam to decorate the dessert, and she just knew the perfect way to do so.
Mana went yet again to where the cooking supplies were and brought out a pastry sleeve. Not even a second after she came back, she filled it with the peach jam. She calmed herself down and steadied her pulse. This was going to be rather hard.
Leaving the sleeve aside for now, she firstly coated all the dessert's top with a thin cape of jam, and then with all the care she could muster, enframed with the pastry tool. After she was done, she began to make an 友 inside said frame. After all, a dessert about friendship wouldn't be complete with without said word inside it. Counting her spare seconds, she grated some of the chocolate she had alongside the dessert's border, as if to embelish it a little.
Well, that was it. Her dessert was finished and she even had some spare time to relax before Lilly tasted it. She wondered if she had to explain the dessert's significance or other details about it, and was kind of worried about it, as she hadn't thought about it at all. As she observed her finished work, she began to wonder what she would say if that scenario were to occur.

Shortmon looked at the clock, noticing he had five minutes left. He surprisingly didn't freak out, but kept his pace and continued fiilling the rest of the strawberries. It wouldn't take him more than a minute too fill them, and he planned on filing the skin of the lime to save time. Hopefully he would finish with enough time to spare.
"4 minutes?" The digimon kept looking at the clock once he finished filling something, but then had to force himself to look away. With everything filled he would just need to put on the line zest and place one blueberry and one raspberry on two of the berries. After taking a second to look at his work so far, Shortmon dived his hands into the drawer to grab a cheese grader. It wasn't hard to find luckily, and was perfect for what he needed it for. Shortmon took his large like and slid it across the tool he had, watching the green flakes fall into the green mixture. The cake digimon liked the dark green mixed with the light green, which was going to be the same between his strawberries. The frosting was the lightest color. When he looked at it, he thought of babies for some unknown reason.
With the lime out of the way, Shortmon placed a blueberry onto the blue filing, and the raspberry onto the red filling. The white strawberry would remain plain, and he felt the strawberry with the secret ingredient didn't need anything with it.
He took a quick look at the completed strawberries, before retrieving a white rectangular plate. One at a time, Shortmon placed them in a straight line. With one last breath, he decided it was finished. Shortmon just hoped it was enough.

*BZZZZZZZZZZZT*
And there it was, the final buzzer. Lilly stepped up and clapped her hands once.
"Alright, this round is over. Everyone please bring up your desserts to me so I can judge them, finished or not."
Once they were brought up, Lilly looked at the desserts for a moment before speaking again. "Now, one at a time, present your entries. And when I say present, I mean sell me the concept! If you can't muster up any pride in your dessert then you shouldn't be here. Once you said your piece, I shall have a taste, and then I'll see who wins this round."
(((Anyone who did not post will have unfinishes desserts. Also, when posting your reply, *fully* describe what you made, and sell Lilly the concept of how the contestant used the round theme to make the dessert.)))

((Ugh... Literally the minute I am able to get on and post -_-))
Jimmy kept a close eye on the clock and his dessert. Things didn't seem to be going his way as the souffle was taking longer to cook then he had first anticipated. Jimmy was honestly beginning to get really antsy at it was coming down the wire. Maybe it wasn't a good idea to try to cook the souffle after all.
With literally seconds on the clock, Jimmy pulled out the souffles from the oven. He then moved to grab the confectioners sugar, but in his haste, he accidentally knocked the bag over instead. "Shoot" Jimmy said under his breath as he tried to quickly recover from his slip up and hoped beyond hope that he had enough time to get the sugar on.
*BZZZZZZZZZZZT*
He didn't. Jimmy gave a sigh of defeat as he heard the buzzer ring, and Lily tell them that they had to bring up there dessert. He was so close. All he had to do left was sprinkle some confectioner's sugar on it, and it would be perfect. But now, Jimmy didn't really know. While it might of been just a minor detail, it was the detail that was suppose to help bring the whole theme he was going for together.
Without any choice, Jimmy carefully picked up the two souffles, still within their pans, and brought them up to be inspected. Once they had all gathered up by Lily, she had requested that they come up one at a time to present their desserts to her. Jimmy took a deep breath as he decided that he might as well go first. Just because he forgot one part of his dessert doesn't mean he wouldn't be able to scavenge this. Far from it in fact.
"Hello everyone. The dessert I had baked for all of you today is a little delicacy known as Digifruit Souffle. As you may have infer from the name, it's a souffle made from digifruit, yet it means more to me then that. It's my friend, Shin's, favorite dessert and he was the one who taught me how to make it. You see, Shin is not only a good friend, but also a mentor to me. He had taught me many different things about the digital world, that without which, I probably wouldn't be here now.
"Yet, in return, I like to think I taught him many things as well. Like that it's alright to experiment with a recipe to make it your own. This is why I didn't hesitate to add the secret ingredients into the souffle. I believe it adds to the taste and could even make it better then it was before.
"So as you all may have guessed, I have a deep belief that this dessert represents our friendship and took great care in making it. For while our friendship may sometimes be bitter, sometimes be sweet, and just a little nutty, but I wouldn't have it any other way." Jimmy said to the audience confidently. While it may be a little corny, that didn't make it any less true. "Also, this could just be me, but I like to believe the souffle slightly resembles the snowy mountains me and Shin had first met."
With that, Jimmy took a step back to allow everyone to get a good look at the two souffles. They greatly resembled a giant, white cupcakes with the top burnt slightly yellow. Yet, unlike cupcakes, they would taste kindof more a bit more gooey with slightly bitter fruit chunks spread within it. The flavor would be pretty delicate with a combination of something bitter, a sweet peachy taste from the jelly, and a smooth hint of almond. While the souffle would lack the sweet sugary taste Jimmy had hoped the confectioners sugar would of given, he had hoped this would give it a end up giving it a more balanced flavor.
Hopefully...

A few minutes had passed, the man's hands were moving robotically. He took one twist of dough from each pile, worked it so that all the different flavors were manufactured evenly. He had at least one of each kind made before he started to grin smugly, arrogance getting the better of him. His mind wandered, his hands slowed their production, his attention drifted. He was thinking about other flavors that these angel wings would go with, his culinary creativity jumbling in his brain.
*BZZZZZZZZZZZT*
Everett snapped out of his day dream, realizing he had only a few wings of each kind done rather than his platter. Cursing under his breath, the lawyer scolded himself for allowing his focus to dissipate. He briskly arranged the few pastries he had completed neatly, each one coupled with the corresponding flavors. The man smiled at his dish; one large platter, and though not nearly as abundant with dessert as he’d originally hoped, at least he had something to offer the judges.
Walking up to the pink skinned Guilmon as his turn to present came around, he smirked at the host. ”These here, miss Lilly, are called Angel Wings.” Everett lowered the platter in front of her. ”I’ve combined the requested ingredients, as well as left the plain dessert. These crispy twists each have their own little zing to them, each bite as delectable as the last!” Everett pulled back his shoulders, his chest puffing out a little as confidence and passion rose up with his words. ”You may find that each wing is unique, miss Lilly. Each one may look similar, with the fine layer of icing sugar topping each of the ribbons. But rest assured,” he paused with enthusiasm. ”Here in the center, I present to you the plain angel wing; a recipe I fell in love with during my stay in Europe. This couple here on the left is mixed purely with almond butter, whilst on the right we have the peach jam blend. And, my most intricate dessert,” he gleefully pointed to the fourth pair of angel wings. ”These tasty twists are made to make your taste buds burst with flavor. One strand is the dough which features the almond butter, and the second strand which it’s tied with is the peach jam mixture. This here not only looks pretty, but it is sure to pack a flavorful punch that’ll leave you craving more!”
The man took a couple steps back, his arms neatly folded, his chest up, his ivory smile present and his face glowing.
”Bon apetit, ma’damme.” he concluded in a soft, charming voice.

Mana began to think and think about what she'd say, yet nothing came to her mind. She began to grow somewhat concerned, but before she started to grow nervous...
*BZZZZZZZZZZZT*
Yup, that buzzer signaled the total end of the time. Mana smiled at her finished dessert, seeing that the other two human contestants weren't able to finish their respective desserts. At least she had been smart with her choice of dessert, having finished it with time to spare.
As Lilly now waited for everyone to exhibit his dessert, the brunette girl sighed, not very sure of what she'd say herself. On a very curious note, the two people who had unfinished desserts began to show them firstly. She guessed that was to try and get a good impression since their desserts lacked the potential they could have. Somewhat thinking about this, she decided to improvise and after Everett said her piece, armed with her two most lethal weapons: her charming smile and her cheery disposition, she stepped up and began her speech.
"Lilly-sama, as of now, my dessert didn't have a name because it always changed, but your theme, as inspired me, so now I'll call it the 'bond dessert'!"
She hoped for a favorable impression on Lilly's face, but tried to not to lose her cool if that didn't work out. She had to stick with her name now. "And as its newly appointed name suggests, the dessert's foundation are two things that work together as if they were 'partners'; the milk-softened Vainilla biscuits and a mixture of both condensed milk and cream. Working together, I firmly believe that this partners can take on any flavor combination!
As if to explain, you may have observed that while I was making the initial dessert, I was about to include some ingredients such as lemon juice and zest and chocolate; those were going to be the primary flavors of this dessert, yet as the lady over there made the secret ingredients known, my blend adapted perfectly at them and in record time to boot! As you can see, the resulting dish is astounding nonetheless, making the perfect example that just like a good digimon-human partnership, it can adapt to even the most surprising situations!"
As she made a pause to conclude, she smiled at herself. The speech was going good so far. "So, Lilly-sama, when you taste this dessert try not to imagine just this particular mix of ingredients, but all the potential combinations that could be made! Think of them as new people to be meet, as new friends to be made! You won't regret what your taste buds will feel if you try!"
She then stepped down, pretty happy about her improvised speech. Hopefully that will be enough for her to advance into the next round.

Shortmon looked around at the other contestants as they were cooking. From where he was standing, he could see Mana had finished her dish, but the others seemed to be cooking.
*BZZZZZZZZZZZT*
Shortmon jumped slightly at the sound of the buzzer, expecting a friendly "Time's Up!". But his main focus was on the other contestants. He waited to go last only to see the creations they conjured in their kitchens. The digimons eye was especially drawn to the two contestants who had unfinished desserts. Shortmon had finished his, so he hoped that would be a point in his favor. But he had no idea what would happen. However, after the third contestant finished, Shortmon took the dessert up to Lilly.
Shortmon stepped up and placed his dessert with the others. "Hello Lilly, today I have made Strawberries, each stuffed with a different color of cream cheese filling!" Shortmon began wishing he had rehearsed what he was going to say in his spare time, it would have made this a lot easier for him.
"Also with three of the strawberries, you will see a blueberry, raspberry, and lime zest on the top. When I finished making this dessert, the first thing that popped out to me were the colors. Like me and my partners bond, there are many colors that create and hold it. But it all comes from a common base. In this case a strawberry, hopefully you'll enjoy it." Shortmon gave a smile and backed down not sure if he said enough.

Lilly would go to each of the contestants and taste their desserts after they presented them. Of course, she would like them all. This was a cooking contest, but the sole point was not to make the best tasting dessert. If she wanted that, she'd allow this competition to be professional chefs only. And after tasting them, she would comment on them as well.
First was Jimmy, a previous winner. She did not want to outright state this fact because she did not want to make people think she would go easy on him. Because she wouldn't.
"I see... using what your friend taught you to make this dessert, using what you taught your friend about trying new things, and looks mountain shaped to remind you of your first meeting. Really neat, Jimmy. A shame you didn't get to finish but, hey, unfinished desserts isn't a death sentence here."
Next was Everett, who admittedly seemed a tad shady, but she would not kick him out for looks alone. Besides, he kept himself well mannered.
"I like your moxie, man. I appreciate the choices offered, even if this is not representative of what you wanted to complete. However, you made absolutely no mention of how this fits in with the theme of this round. That was kind of the point."
Next was the cheery Mana, one of the ones who finished her dessert. Very cheery, in fact, almost giddy.
"Mmhmm, very delicious indeed. You're quite sweet and cheery, like your dessert. However you didn't quite hit the round theme. It was to demonstrate the bond between yourself and your partner. This was kind of, from what you're saying to me, bonds in general."
Last was Shortmon, the only digimon in the competition... and almost seemed to belong to it given his appearance. Of course, a dessert might be one of the better guys to make desserts.
"Well, never let it be said I don't appreciate anyone's ability to fill in a number of small food items like this. It's nice and simple. You could have added more to your explanation to how these apply to the theme. The whole colors thing was kind of vague.
Now that I have seen and tasted everyone's desserts, this would be that time where I have to eliminate 2 contestants before going to the final round."
She looked at the group fully, pausing for a bit before revealing who had lost.
"Sorry to say, but Everett and Shortmon had lost this round. Everett had not finished nor explained how his dessert fit in with the theme. Shortmon, as I said, I appreciate the effort, even if they are simple, but you were kind of vague on how this fits in with the theme, and you didn't sell me on the concept. Your presentation skills need work.
That said... I expect *ALL* of you back in an hour for the final round. Either redeem yourself or keep the streak running later on, but for now, you guys deserve your rest. You're gonna need your energy!"
(((Anyway, next post will be in the span of an hour. You could help give the desserts to the audience, or rest, whatever. )))

She had... advanced? Even with an improvised dialogue she had done it! Granted, Lilly seemed to be way more impressed with Jimmy's speech about her dessert than with hers, but at least she wasn't walking on thin ice like Shortmon and Everett. Not even a second after the pink Guilmon said that they could rest, she smiled happily at Ayaka and the first thing that she did was handing her a piece of her dessert to her partner. Quasi-victory was to be shared, after all.
After that, she tried to at least have a taste of everybody else's dessert. The ones she could, she felt that they were really good, and that reminded that the competition was indeed formidable. She couldn't let her guard down or else they would just trample through her, but of course, that didn't deter her from showing some sportmanship. She went to where Jimmy was, smiling at him all along the way. "Congratulations, Jimmy-san! Your dessert was really good! You have to totally teach me that recipe someday! I'd love to make some Souffle myself someday!"
Then, she went to where her first friendly acquaintance in the whole contest was, was, still with her everpresent smile adorning her face. "Those Angel Wings were great, Everett-san, and I'm saying that as somebody who doesn't like to mix alcohol and pastries! Being totally honest, I really think that your dessert was the best one of the bunch, but it was a real shame that you couldn't finish it and that your speech didn't impress Lilly-san. I'm really curious about what you'll have in store for the next round, although I'm pretty sure that it'll be as astounding as your first dessert!
She chatted (or tried to chat) with Everett as the hour passed away because she had found him to be quite likeable. Having almost forgotten about it, and facepalming because of that, if Shortmon was still on the stage, Mana would wave at him smiling, as if wishing him luck for the round to come as she waited for Lilly to begin speaking about what they'll do this time.

Shortmon kept a smile on his face, while in his mind, the digimon facepalmed him self. He doesn't mind cooking in the kitchen, but when it comes to talking about it and presenting it, Shortmon is a little shaky at. But he would just have to spend the rest of his time resting and thinking about some desserts to do.
In this corner of his eye, he could see one of the humans wave at him, and smiled and waved back. However he wasn't like her, going around and talking. It was a hard thing for him to do, but he hoped he wouldn't seem rude for not socializing. And Shortmon dared not to look in the direction of Jackson. He knew the general didn't care if they won or lost, but Shortmon felt disappointed. He just lost the first round, and he is a dessert after all. But maybe this would be his round to win. Shortmon just needed to be optimistic about the next challenge, and keep his head on straight.

Jimmy was tense as he waited for the reveal of who won or lost. The fact that his dessert was technically not finished was something he was hoping beyond hope that she wouldn't notice. But he guessed after that little show he put on when he attempted to put the confectioners sugar on the souffles, it would be obvious to anyone that he had missed a step. Still, she didn't seem all that upset by it, and did praise how he dessert did fit with the theme. So he might have a chance.
Then after she had critique all the other desserts, the moment had came. Jimmy prepared himself for the worse, yet it never came. Instead, he heard Everett and Shortmon being declared the losers of this round. Jimmy let out a small sigh of relief as he used his arm to wipe away a few beads of sweat from his forehead. For a good moment there, he was sure he was going to be one of the ones who lost this round. Yet it seems he had somehow made it to the top two for this round. He could only hope he would be able to pull though again during the next round.
Though that is something to worry about later. For now, Jimmy assisted in serving his dessert with the audience. It seemed that most of them enjoyed it. But the true test came when Jimmy served Shin a piece.
"It seems your corny speach had managed to keep you safe for this round." Shin cynically remarked as Jimmy handed him a piece of the souffle.
"Hey. It wasn't corny. Well, not completely anyways." Jimmy attempted to defend himself, but knew that his speach could of probably used some work.
"Whatever you say." Shin said before taking a bite out of the souffle. Jimmy waited quietly as he watched his friend chew the the souffle, growing anxious to hear his opinion. "It's good. Though I still prefer the original recipe better. To much almond for my taste." Jimmy sighed in defeat as he went on to serve everyone else a piece.
Once he was done, and had a chance to try the other desserts (or, at least, those that he could get a taste of), he found himself sitting in a chair, waiting for the next round to start. As he waited, he saw the other "winner" of this round, Mana he believed she was called, come to him and congratulate him on his dessert.
"Thanks. Your uhh..." Jimmy paused for a second to recall what Mana had called her dessert, "'Bond dessert' was really good too. Perhaps when I teach you how to make the souffle, you can teach me your own recipe." He said with a small smile.
Yet the meeting didn't seem to last long as Mana went off to do other things. Jimmy sighed as he lied back into the chair. It's sad how fleeting it has become to talk to another human when their life is not in danger. Oh well. He needed to focus on brainstorming ideas on what he was going to do during this next round anyways. He knew he was going to need to make something completely different from the other desserts he had made before, but also knew it would have to be versatile to deal with whatever secret ingredient Lily decides to throw at them. That's not including the fact that it would have to fit with whatever theme Lily decides to throw at them, and is able to be done within the pretty strict time limit they have. Though what type of dessert could he possibly make that would fit all those criteria.
Hmm...

A grin was pasted on the man’s face as the host made her way to him. The first part of her response pleased him, though his smug expression quickly faded. His pastry had the potential to win, and yet he allowed for himself to be distracted with his own arrogance, forgetting to mention the most basic thing; the bond with his partner. Surely Graedon stared down at him with a disgruntled glare from somewhere within the audience.
Disappointment came when Lilly announced that he was not one of the victors of this round. A sigh escaped his lips as his shoulders dropped from their pinned position, his back now in a comfortable slouch rather than in a proud posture. He glanced over at the younger girl as she walked around, offering a subtle smile. Everett decided he’d take a stroll and sample the other contestant’s pastries as well, deciding that he wouldn’t let the disappointment hinder his ability to enjoy fresh sweets.
The tall tamer left his tasty twisters on the counter, whatever was left of them was free for the others to enjoy. Graedon came down from the audience too, socializing with his tamer over the break. ”Keep your head in the game chump! he teased, playfully punching the man’s leg. ”I could probably have done that better! The food smells great and all, and you used some fancy descriptive words and stuff, but you’re slack-a-lackin’ when it comes to paying attention! What about the bond you have with me, eh?” Rett glanced at him, a half amused, half annoyed expression relaying itself to the digimon. He decided to let loose and relax, since he’d probably need a fresh mind for the next round. Inching over to Graedon, he stretched his arms outwards and ruffled the bear’s head, messing up the placement of his hat. ”Don’t worry bub,” started the lawyer. ”I had you in mind full well, and you know it. Why else would I be using whiskey? I just didn’t wanna embarrass you and call you out for being an alchie in front of so many people!” Rett stated, toying with his partner. ”Ah, shuddup you.” grumbled the Bearmon, though both of them began laughing and were soon patting each other on the back.
Everett then turned to Mana, who'd approached him, and made sure to congratulate the lass. "Great job out there, you sure hit the sweet spot!" the lawyer cringed at his own pun, laughing it off casually. "This is Graedon, my partner." "Nice to meet ya doll!" greeted the bruin.
For the next hour he would fill up on samples, mess around with Graedon, and chit-chat with Mana. He let go of the dissatisfaction of losing this past round and allowed himself to be cheerful and social. Soon the next round would begin and he’d be sure to zone in on the details this time around.

Once the hour ended, the contestants should be ready to participate in the final round. The cooking areas were cleaned out and just about how they were before the contest started. Lilly stood before them once more and spoke to them.
"Glad to see you all are ready for round two of this contest. Now, normally when one loses they are out the contest. But I would like to do something a bit different. Because, hey, I for one like a nice gimmick. If used correctly they can add a new aspect to things, you know? And sometimes these gimmicks are really creative. But maybe I'm just yammering...
Or maybe I'm stating the theme of this round!
...gimmicks are totally the theme of this round. This is a bit vague, yes, but I'm sure you'll do fine. Make a dessert with a gimmick to it, as long as it's functional or at least showy!"
Lilly then snapped her claws, and a red curtain fell between the cooking stations, seperating them into two groups of two. A large, toothy grin formed on her maw.
"Now, you may be wondering 'only one curtain?'. Indeed, this contest will pit two against two! Jimmy and Shortmon vs Everett and Mana!
Mind you, while Everett and Shortmon will be ineligible for the first and second place prize, whoever is on the winning team gets a nice little bonus.
Also, this round will last one hour and 10 minutes! The groups have 1 minute to discuss a plan, and after that, the round begins! So, get to talking! And no peeking!"
(((I'll allow a few days leeway for the time limit for *this* part of the round. This will be the minute planning and 30 minutes for the one post (or two if that is seemed necessary), then the first secret ingredient, then 25, then another secret ingredient, then the last 15 minutes.
The gimmick desserts much be potentially useful for what you say it's for, but it doesn't necessarily have to be good for it. If you made a cookie bookshelf, it should be able to hold a book of some sort.
Alternatively it can just be a showy gimmick like TRANSFORMERS PIES IN DISGUISE.)))

((Well seeing how it's been 21 days since the last post, I'm gonna go ahead and post.))
Jimmy looked over at Lily with some surprise. Their next challenge was going to have them make a dessert with some sort of gimmick to it. Not only that though, but they were also going to have to work in teams of two. With each of the two winners of last round being paired up with the other two. Well, Jimmy couldn't say that Lily didn't knew how to keep them on their toes, but seeing how good Shortmon's dessert was, he was certain they would be able to come up with something amazing together.
"Hey there Shortmon. Looks like we're going to be working together for this round." Jimmy said as he approached the pastry digimon, "So do you have any ideas on what type of gimmick we should have for our dessert." Jimmy had to admit, he had no idea on what exactly they should make yet, but was sure they would come up with some ingenious idea pretty quickly.
