Crystal eyes quickly bounced from one figure to the next as Vetina put her on the spot. What was she suppose to do now? She knew full well that Mel was planning on her lying. Putting MagnaAngemon or his lackeys under Vetina's wrath. Yet was that the right thing to do?
Time seemed to slow as two voices argued in her head. Telling Vetina the truth would surely put both Pure and Celeste at risk, yet wouldn't not telling them end up putting them at even bigger risk. Then a single thought put all the debate in her mind at rest. Vetina was not mindless and as impulsive as she may appear to be. The fact that Pure and Mel were alive now was proof of that.
Taking a deep breath, Crystal came to a decision. "I'm sorry Mel, but Vetina has a right to know." She began before turning towards Vetina, "MagnaAngemon is telling the truth. Or at least he just repeated the same thing he told us earlier. That Celeste is apparently the one you are looking for."
Mel's eyes widen as he heard Crystal telling Vetina the truth. "You traitorous b****. How dare you sell my sister out like that? Do you truly hate me that much?" Then without a second thought, he pushed the button, causing the yellow fog to begin filtering into the room from the air vents. The fog, however, would prove to become much thicker then it is top side, making seeing anything beyond one's nose nearly impossible.
As the room began to fill with the fog, Mel quickly made his way over to where Celeste was and placed the container device on her, surrounding her in a small bubble. He really had hoped he didn't have to do this as it now put Celeste at even more risk, but he had no choice. It didn't help matters much that Vetina had more or less completely compromised the airlock by breaking in the way she did. Hopefully Celeste would be able to make it to the portal alive.
The room filled up soon after Celeste was put into containment, and Crystal found herself coughing pretty heavily because of how thick the fog was. She could then hear footsteps moving away from her along with the sound of some type of door opening and closing. So he had a secret escape hatched already planned out from the beginning? How like him to do that.
((Now's all that is missing is the message that Mel and Vetina will remember this))

Everyone else had to admit... they didn't know what Vetina would do. Even the MagnaAngemon figured this was a gamble. However, it was Mel who gave an outburst at Crystal for telling the truth. And thus, he made his escape, fleeing with his sister under the cover of a thicker fog than above.
Like Crystal, Rippah found himself coughing heavily. Vetina, not so much, although breathing for everyone was more labored. Vetina picked up on where he ran, all the while the MagnaAngemon and his cohorts went the way they came in. They were already in a compromised position and needed time to regroup.
Vetina went to where she heard the door to the hidden path close, and then began slashing with her Cypher Sword. Within a few swings, it was cut open. Crystal and Rippah would then find themselves picked up and taken to the hidden path. After some distance in, Vetina would set them down.
"I know not the value of my gratitude to you, Crystal, but I hope it's at minimum a pittance."
"That's great *koff koff* b-but what about Mel?"
"That idiot... fleeing the pan for a barbeque. You're our key, Rippah, and our buffer for tardiness home.
But your business isn't bust yet. Tail, and I'll reattach... after re-obtaining our quarry."
Vetina's boosters on her back lit up before thrusting her further down the patch, not too fast, but fast enough that she hoped to catch up with him fairly soon. Rippah got up on his feet and coughed a bit more before offering a hand to the Tururiemon.
"Let's hurry up out of here."

"That bastard." Crystal voiced before coughing a bit more as Vetina sat them down, "I can't believe he called me that, and with that voice no less."
She was still a little bit shell shocked about what just happened. She did expect some type of backlash from Mel to revealing the truth to Vetina, but not to that extent. Hopefully he wouldn't end up doing something really stupid.
Crystal then grabbed a hold of the hand that Rippah offered her, and pull herself up with it. "Yeah. We got to keep focus on what matters right now." She said more to herself then Rippah. It's been a pretty hard few moments for the Tururiemon, but she had no time to linger on the past. She needed to keep moving forward.
Mel ran as fast as he could through the tunnel. All he felt at this moment was betrayal and desperation. He should have never had either Vetina or Crystal join him on this expedition. Why he even thought he needed their help was ludicrous? He was use to fighting by himself by now. He would have rescued his sister just fine.
It also didn't help matters much that he was feeling Pure's mind fighting him the whole way as he ran. Obviously the brother didn't like what Mel did all that much. Yet he needed to keep moving forward. Vetina was no doubt hot on his trail and will catch up pretty quickly if he even stopped for a second.

After helping her up, Rippah looked ahead, a bit hesitant to ask her something.
"Hey, not to be weird, but I can carry you. I could give you a ride." Were she to agree, Rippah would pick her up and repeatedly start doing his Blackout, running forward at incredible speeds in short bursts. At the very least, it would be faster than if Rippah ran normally.
Meanwhile, Vetina boosted after Mel, going a bit faster, but not too fast as she wanted to avoid accidentally smashing into some wall. Using her gun, she shot the charge shot from her pistol. If it was a straight shot, it would hit Mel, but would freeze him and Celeste in place for a bit of time. If she did miss or hit a wall, well... she'll deal with it when that comes, as the shot would rebound off something.

"Give me a ride? But why? I'm just a little winded from the fog is all." She said slightly confused. Did she really look to be in that bad of shape that he was worried she couldn't walk by herself?
Mel could hear Vetina catching up to him fairly quickly. How in the world was she so quick? He then heard the shot fired, and was able to avoid it just in the nick of time. Then he held his free hand back towards Vetina, attempting to summon and fire off the Vulcan at her. Yet something was preventing the from appearing.
"S***!" He then said as he forced himself to run even faster.
What are you doing Pure? Are you trying to get us all killed? He yelled internally at the other inhabitant of this body.
N... No. I'm trying to stop you from doing something stupid. Pure responded, fear evident in his voice, I trust Crystal's judgement and I think you should too. Do you honestly think that Vetina would kill your sister?
Yes Was all that Mel had to say on the subject as he kept running. Pure tried his best to persuade Mel to stop this, yet it seemed that the Hylden was to lost in his own fears to listen to reason. That left Pure with only one option.
Gathering as much strength as he could, he forced Mel out of the driver seat. It surprised him a little that that one mental attack was enough to knock Mel unconsious too. The Hylden must have really worn himself out mentally with everything that was going on.
Now that he was back in control, Pure stopped himself and turned around. "Vetina. Please stop." He pleaded with the unusually Hylden. He was scared, not sure himself what exactly Vetina would do. Yet if Crystal believed enough in Vetina that she told her what MagnaAngemon told them, then Pure believed that he should believe in Vetina as well.

Rippah shrugged, a bit embarrassed, although the sunglasses hid some of this.
"Because I run the fastest in this form. But if you want to take it easy, then sure. Not trying to be smug, but I'm the one holding the device that will signal the others to open the portal. So I guess we don't have to rush..."
Rippah walked forward at a brisk pace. The less of those foggy fumes he had to breathe in, the better.
"Overall... are you alright?"
---
Vetina thrusted along until she saw the Gargomon halt his pace, telling her to stop. Her thrusting slowed before ceasing, landing on the ground and holstering her pistol.
"Aye, two on your twin bed is quite unfortunate, eh Pure? "
She glanced down at Celeste as she crossed her arms, sighing.
"She's sanctioned to this... state to a point where I cannot extract any satisfaction. I'll lay no harm onto her.
I assume my status of 'successor' to my name is known to you. Her end broke me. Celeste's end would break Mel and... my heart is not nearly a granite to strike that blow."

"I'm fine, I think. I'm just a little overwhelmed is all." Crystal answered as she walked close behind Rippah, "It's all just quite a bit to take in."
She looked a bit down in the dumps as she was lost in her own thoughts for awhile there. Then she decided to change the subject. "So why didn't you mention that you were able move faster in the first place? We would of probably have caught up to them by now if you did?" Crystal gave a deep sigh, "Well I guess we should count our blessings though. It was pretty stupid of Mel to forget that you had the recall key. And it sounds like Vetina had not only caught up to him but, from the lack of screaming and sounds of fighting up ahead, is not trying to kill either him or Celeste. At least I hope she isn't."
Crystal had to admit that it were times like this where she is truly happy to have ears as sensitive as hears. While she couldn't hear what exactly they were saying, she could definitely hear two voices that sounded like Pure and Vetina. So the two seemed to be calm enough to talk at least.
"So I take it that that means your not going to kill her then." Pure answered, about as confused as he usually is when Vetina talked to him.

"I was getting to that, but fine..." Rippah said when Crystal mentioned that Rippah should have talked about his faster running speed. But, indeed, they could relax for the moment.
"More self-control than my sister, I can say that much. But... uh...we shouldn't tell her about all this. If she even suspects that Mel tried to leave me here when we get back I'd have to keep her from shooting him and Vetina once we're all done."
Vetina placed a hand on her head, chuckling a bit. Sometimes she forgot that not everyone clearly understood her, and she wasn't really in the mood to really get angry over something like that.
"Dotting a dwarf, I won't kill her. It's of little worth or effect.
But I must relay... spooking Mel was complementary prize, aye? Heh heh heh."
She went in thought as she leaned against the wall of the tunnel. She reflected on how easily she decided to not kill Celeste. Really, she didn't like Mel much, and she was here more for her own reasons than to help Celeste.
But in the end what was the point in killing a comatose, near dead Hylden? And she was going to be stored in Cuttah, of all digimon, for some time as she regains her strength.
Celeste didn't kill the original Vetina, "Jacob" did. And given all that has happened, Celeste probably already suffered enough. That being said, she hoped that Celeste wasn't too much like her brother. One Mel was enough.
"What say you to dinner post the operation?"

"Yeah. That would probably be for the best. While I wouldn't mind Mel getting shot for all the stuff he put me through these past several months, I would prefer Pure not to even more. Though I guess that's a catch 22 for you." Crystal replied off-handily.
What she would give to just punch Mel in the face without hurting Pure in the process? Because Yggdrasil knows how tempted she gets at times to do so regardless.
Pure scratched his head as he tried his best to decipher what exactly Vetina just said. "Uhh... Maybe for you, but it's not so much fun when you are the one that has to come along with the ride." He replied.
He then felt his stomach rumble at the mention of dinner. When was the last time he even ate? Sometime before they entered this crazy world, and that was some time ago. How long exactly though. Honestly it was kind of hard for Pure to keep track of time whenever Mel is controlling, and their current location isn't much help.
"Yeah. That sounds good. Let's head back to the others and find our way out of this place. I'm honestly surprised they haven't caught up with us in time. I wonder what's taking them so long?" Pure said as he looked down the tunnel towards where he heard Crystal and Rippah's voice. He was fully expecting Crystal to bolt down this tunnel to prevent Mel from taking him away, yet she seemed to be taking her time. Something that proved slightly concerning for the Gargomon.

"It's a wonder how Mel gets anywhere. 'With friends like these' as they say..."
Rippah thought back on the reveal that Mel and Pure were fused. As much as he wanted to console her, it felt weird to even consider this. Rippah was not at all romantically interested in Crystal... but their own relations with others just made Rippah worried about accidentally giving the wrong signals.
Vetina seemed happy that Pure said yes to dinner, although she questioned whether or not Pure understood what she asked. Still, he would find out later.
"I was trusted to halt Mel. And our time constraints are limited, yet buffered. The punctuality of our quarry isn't to be great, for her sake."
In any case, they waited for the others, eventually faintly seeing them. When they got close enough, Vetina spoke again.
"I can only hope a mind for direction is upon us, lest we loiter to our detriment."

"It helps that we're digimon who will fall for a sob story like his despite everything he's done." Crystal explained, "Y'know. Doing the right thing really sucks sometimes."
Pure gave a sigh as Vetina explained something that sounded like an explanation about why Crystal wasn't here yet.
"Yeah. That may be the case, but I still expected her to chase after us like a 'bat out of hell' or however that saying goes. So it's a bit saddening to see that she isn't."
It wasn't all that longer before Crystal and Rippah finally met back up with Pure and Vetina. Pure was happy to see his sister at first, but quickly grew worried when she ran straight towards him with a raised fist.
"Wait. Crys. Don't hit me. It's me Pure." Pure begged holding his free arm up defensively.
Crystal stopped in her tracks upon hearing this. "You got to be... The one time I actually am able to get up the nerve." Crystal gave a frustrated sigh, "Tell me he's at least shaking in his boots in the mind of yours."
"Actually he's kind of out of commission at the moment."
"Well he chose a horrible time to take a nap." Crystal said before taking a quick glance around.
"Anyways. I see three possible ways for us to get out of this tunnels. We could just go back the way we came. Yet that MagnaAngemon might have laid sometype of ambush or trap if we do. Next we could just continue to follow this tunnel and see where it will lead. The problems with that plan should be pretty obvious. Then the last way I can see us getting out of this is by going straight up. Though if we do, who knows what we will find up there. Do you guys have any suggestion?"

Rippah had silently agreed with what Crystal said, giving only an affirmative nod in response. It really did suck sometimes.
The fact that Mel was temporarily out of commission at the moment was a bit amusing for Vetina. "His fortitude is too top heavy for tightroping under wind. But Pure's temple, I guess."
In any case, once the siblings reunited, there were plans as to how to proceed.
"Well... I really do not want to go back through that area we just came from. All that fog isn't good for our health."
"Who knows the depth of this rabbit hole, either?"
"So I guess all we have left is up."

"Uhh... Crys? Did you understand any of what she just said at all?" Pure said in a soft whisper in his sister's ear.
Crystal just looked over at him and gave him a small shrug. "Just nod whenever she pauses to take a breath." She suggested to him before turning towards the others, "So we are heading up top then? I should have guessed you all would suggest that."
Crystal then looked upward as she thought about things for a moment. "I really hope my armor form is able to hold up long enough for me to get this done." She said to herself as she took a deep breath. "Digimental Energize."
Her body was then consumed by a cocoon of data as it changed shape once again. "Prairiemon!" She then called out as the data disappeared to reveal her transformation was complete. What was once the Bipedal Bunny Ninja was now a fairly large prairie dog with metal ears and claws.
Crystal didn't waste a second to get use to her new form as she began carving an entrance into the side of the tunnel. She would then carve a new tunnel that spiraled all the way up to the surface. That way everyone, including those that couldn't fly or climb, would have an easy way up to the surface. While she dug, she also kept an ear out just in case MagnaAngemon, or any one else for that matter, was waiting topside for them to emerge. She doubted that they would expect them to dig there way out, but she knew she couldn't be to careful.

"Uhh... Crystal?"
Vetina watched as she turned into her armor champion form Prariemon and began digging through the ground around them.
"What is it Vetina?"
"Is is safe to step down for an upwards ride? This area is bad for grounded tiers... I could have burrowed up myself."
"Well, I can only hope it won't effect her. It's only for a bit, though, right?"
"A sorority of hyldenic afflicted shan't find more of kind, all I'm saying. But on and up anyway."
Vetina would to into the hole and climb up, and then Rippah would let Pure get ahead of him before going up himself.
On Crystal's trip up, it would be a safe trip. The other hylden digimon, although relatively close, weren't so near them as to worry greatly. Maybe.

Crystal paused for a second as she neared the top so she could focus to make sure there was no one nearby. Once she was certain, she finished the tunnel and exited it herself.
"Everything looks clear." She would call down to the others as she began to focus deep within herself. A cocoon of data surrounded her body as she then returned back to her Turuiemon form. "Urg..." She would then grunt as she felt a small pain in her shoulder.
"Crys? Are you alright? You weren't... infected, were you?" Pure asked his sister worried that his sister's short time as an Armor Champion may have ended up exposing her to the negative effects of this world.
Crystal looked over at him Pure as she massaged her hurt shoulder. "No. You don't have to worry Pure. I just hurt my shoulder trying to dig so quickly is all." She would assure him. She then looked around her surroundings, trying to get her bearings. "So then. Does anyone know how to get to the portal from here? Because I have no clue."
