Vetina nudged Betty and spoke into her ear. It was a low volume but probably nothing that Pure couldn't at least hear some of. Afterwards, Betty spoke up.
"You're not intruding. Anyway, for your own ease of understanding I find myself once more as Vetina's "translator" and messenger.
Vetina would also like to express her gratitude for you two trusting her. "
"As to survey siblings, not temple housing."
"Yeah, you and your sister. She finds the gesture admirable. Also... cooking was no problem, Pure. Glad I could help. Vetina make pretty good stew but, well, Vetina never eats her own produce.
I should also tell you that she *did* ask you out. You just didn't catch it."
"Aye, and... umm... my apologies... for my duet of previous personal expulsions. First was dressed in haste, and post-exit was... um... jealously..."

"Uhh... Apology accepted. I think?" Pure said as he scratched the back of his head, trying his best to think back. "Now when did you..." Then it hit him like a ton bricks.
"Oh shoot. That's what you meant when you mentioned dinner." Pure said embarrassed as he facepalmed. He couldn't believe he completely missed that. "I'm so so sorry Vetina. Geez... I never even noticed that's what you meant." The Terriermon continued, probably just making things worse.

Vetina chuckled, shaking her head. "It's a pebble to ice. I'd have probably struck out anyway. It's a gold medal of a gag for my life."
"Oh come on, Vetina, don't say that."
"I'm not dribbling falsehoods. Scyrus, That, Yaku, others... I'm a poor batter. Even my words, like others, stumble Pure. It's a pill of fists for me but I need to learn to release my grip on a fancy of a relationship.
I mean... with a broken hand no marks will be hit. With full assurance, Pure wouldn't... like me...
Would that be marked correct, Pure?"
Betty scratched her head, a bit nervous."She's saying that she's failed at dating... quite a few times and she doubts you'd actually like her."

"Well, in all honesty, I don't know. I don't dislike you. That's for certain. In fact I like to think of you as a friend. Pure began, "Yet the thing is that we barely know a thing about each other. Sure we know some basic facts here and there, but can you honestly say you know me as a person, because I'm not sure I can say that about you.
"Heck. Today is the first time I think we've even held a conversation before. Do you honestly think it's a good idea for us just start dating with that in mind." Pure then paused as he took a deep breath, "I think what I'm getting at her is that I'm flattered. I really am. And I'm sad to hear that your other attempts at dating people have fell... flat. Yet I would like to know you as a person first before I can tell you whether I like you in that way or not. You understand?" Pure said trying his best not to hurt Vetina's feelings to badly. He never had done anything like this before, and it felt completely weird to hear the words that left his mouth.
"Besides, do you really want to be dating a guy whose body has a roommate like Mel?"

The Palmon sighed, scratching her head. She was disappointed, but it was clear that she understood what the Terriermon was saying.
"Yeah, your words do not carry a false tone. Color me desperate, I suppose. Love lost made the heart a pool and... I apologize the unneeded speed to fill. On your terms I'll attempt a handle on you.
Still, Mel is a hazard, not an obstacle. I allowed Celeste to continue. Should he offer considerable hassle, a mere undoing of mercies may be in order."
There was a pause as Betty looked at Vetina, but she quickly shook her head.
"No, Cuttah shan't be involved. I wish for Pure courting in coming dates, and we'll pluck and pry our beings before hand. But if Mel deigns to be a downpour on our parade I-just-might-off-her."
"V-vetina, don't you think that's a bit... harsh? You can't threaten to kill Celeste..."
"Aye, but to Mel, little secures me from her demise."
Vetina then gave a wink at Pure. At the very least, Betty realized the plan was to tell Mel that Vetina would kill Celeste should he act out too much. A pretty devious plan...

Pure was taken back from what he thought Vetina was suggesting. "Uhh... I... I'm not sure that's such a great idea. Mel isn't exactly one to take such a threat lightly, and I don't want to be caught in a firefight between you two." Pure stated, obviously worried.
He understood that Vetina wasn't serious about harming Celeste, but he knew that wouldn't matter to Mel. Like he just told Sanoske earlier, Mel is patient and likes to hold grudges. Just because he can't do something now doesn't mean he won't attempt to try something once the opportunity presents itself. Especially when there is one surefire way to stop Vetina from following through with her threats.

Vetina snapped her fingers in defeat. So much for that plan. "Oh I'll concede, hee hee. I aimed to render him tepid, not wound. Fighting just won't do!
But, but, but... Mel is in my debt, at minimum. At least carry those words to Mel. No, no he is in debt to the bulk of us. His lead behind should procure some gratitude.
To flag these words in honesty, I did inquire to myself if Celeste should die. This whole season of Hylden has been some pain for most of it's core cast. I, you, Mel, Celeste, Crystal... Celeste's condition and that MagnaAngemon's very stature tells that killing Celeste wouldn't even deliver past-expired satisfaction. It was a mere, damaged cog in a wretched machine.
Anyway, Pure... to shift tracks... would it be a load to inquire of you your company? To begin the real bartering of info? That is, if nothing else requires your attention."

Pure guessed that Vetina had a point. They all did just save Mel's sister's life. He was in their debts. The problem was that he wasn't sure if Mel was one to honor such things. Probably will be one of those bridges they will cross once they reach it.
"Huh? Oh uhh... I guess it's alright. It would probably be unlikely for us to talk much once Mel decides to wake up." Pure said as he sat down, "I have something to ask first before we start. Do you honestly think that Celeste was really the one who caused you... I mean the original Vetina so much pain before?"

The question Pure asked about whether she was sure if Celeste was the one who afflicted the original Vetina or not. But it was understandable to ask, she felt.
"To plant a foundation of my reasoning, I'd toss a boulder further than my faith in Mel's words being true.
My eyes and frame knows it was the same device. A sharp pain that bores the very core that wracked us.
Perhaps Mel's relation to Celeste aided in his theft of the item, or a circumstance of similar proportion.
But in the end, what matters does it really effect? If not Celeste, I'd hesitate to return. If Celeste, based on my knowledge, I'd say her ailing was enough. Being in one so manic depressed and farty..."
"Rippah gave her her guns back, you know."
"...wonderfully aromatic would be her boon."

"Yeah. I guess it doesn't matter much anymore now. It's just... I feel like people bought what MagnaAngemon told them to easily. I mean why wouldn't he tell us that Celeste was the one you were after? It would have thrown us off regardless if it's true or not.: Pure shook his head.
"I'm sorry. I'm still lingering to the past there. I guess it's your turn to ask me a question?" He asked before taking a bite out of his stew. It was becoming obvious how cold the stew was now getting.

"Aye, your concern is founded, but... I do not think fitting.
It wasn't my entrance that seemed to prompt the reveal, just its aim towards me. Noon offers doubt a shadow, he used the info stumble us.
But... I view it as a bad gamble, not a falsehood. Anyway..."
Vetina tapped her chin, thinking for a few moments.
"I shall inquire... your hobbies. I know not how my looks deceive but botany is a prime pastime for me! And combat training. On occasions concurrently."

"My hobbies huh? Well... I suppose cooking could be consider one. I've think I've been cooking ever since I've had hands. No that's a lie. It was more after Crystal helped me get over my fears of holding on sharp objects. And being so close to fire. And of spoons." Pure answered as memories of his old fears came flooding back. Why was he afraid of spoons again?
"Now I think it's my turn. So..."
