As time passed, Crystal appeared to be doing better. She was resting soundly, and besides the scar on her ear, no other signs of mutation could be seen on her. Which was a nice plus. Hopefully she'll be waking up soon.
Pure approached over to where Sanoske and Crystal were at. In his hands was an extra bowl of food. "Here you go Sanoske. No point having you starving yourself. The last thing Crys needs is to wake up to see you in your weaken state because you forgot to eat enough." Pure stated as he offered the bowl to the Gazimon.
"So how is she doing anyhow? Any changes to her condition?"

Sanoske took the bowl from Pure and sat it by him. ^Thank you.^
Looking back at Crystal, Sanoske answer Pure's questions. ^She is doing well enough. It looks like she is just resting. After the scar appeared nothing else has happened to her.^
Sanoske took the bowl and poured the contents in his mouth (as per usual Sanoske eating habits, use of utensils is never an option). While the stew was pretty good, Crystal was still his main concern.
^I know it is pointless to bring this up... but I wish I was able to come with you.
Still... I know you did your best, Pure, given your circumstances. That makes me feel a bit better.^

"Did my best huh? I guess you have a point there." Pure said defeated as he sat down, "Yet despite my best, she still ended up like this. I must be the worse big brother in the world if this is the best in the world.
"This is three times now. Three times I have nearly lost her. She's done everything she can to protect me, yet I never seem to be able to do the same for her." Pure then gave a dark chuckle as he said, "Heck. I just end up pulling her into more danger. She wouldn't be in this condition if not for me. Heh."

Sanoske shook his head. He didn't mean to imply that Pure was a failure, especially since the Gazimon thought that Pure was doing fine enough.
But he looked mildly frustrated... not with Pure, but with himself.
^I do not know what I can say to you. I wish I did. All we can do is try our best. The only way you would be the worst big brother in the world is if you gave up.
Besides... look at me... I would have died if I found myself cut off from my creator. I didn't do anything.^

Pure paused for a moment to let Sanoske's words sink in. "Maybe your right. That's still no excuse though. The day she lost her memory, I promised her that I would protect her no matter what. The fact that I keep failing to do just that just shows that my best isn't good enough."
"I need to get better. Not just for Crystal, but for everyone. For you. For Celeste. Heck even for Mel. I need to be able to ensure that I'm able to do what I need to do. That way something like this won't happen again."
Pure then looked over at Sanoske with a nervous look as he realized what he was saying, "Uhh... Sorry. I guess you didn't want to hear me whining on and on like that. You probably have enough on your mind as is." He apologized.

Sanoske gave a chuckling growl, slowly shaking his head. ^We all have a lot on our minds. Still, I appreciate the gesture Pure. I know Crystal does as well.
At the very least, she would tease you but actually appreciate it, heh heh.
But we can only give our best among our unusual circumstances. I don't want you to beat yourself up too badly. I don't want to give up on Crystal, even with my own limitations.
You know... I am maybe able to train you a bit. Put you through something like what Crystal did... except maybe not overwork myself like I did her. Maybe... I do not know...
...no, I do not think Rippah would train you. I just figured since his sister has Celeste he might stay near us.^

"Well it's not like we'll be able to start anything immediately. Mel is likely to wake up any minute now, and I wouldn't be surprised if he decides that we need to stay as close to Cuttah as possible. Making sure that his own sister is safe and sound." Pure said with a shrug.
"I have to be honest though. Mel scares me. Not just because he's able to control my body, but because of what he's willing to do to protect Celeste. I could feel his want to kill Crys just because she told Vetina what that MagnaAngemon had told us. We aren't even sure if it's true or not. Yet that didn't matter to him. Crystal had betrayed him in his eyes and he wanted vengeance. I think the only reason he didn't go through with it right then and there was because he wanted to get his sister out of danger first.
"He's dangerous and patient when he needs to be. And he knows how to hold a grudge too. That is something I have no doubt of. It worries me that he'll just wait for a point when I'm to weak to stop him, and try to attempt something on Crys then." Pure then looks over at Sanoske. "Just do me a favor Sanoske. No matter what you have to do, promise me he'll never get that chance."

^Stay as close to Cuttah as possible... easier said than done...^ he growled. He said that more seriously than intended, but given how he has heard of her outbursts and, well, has smelled her on more than one occasion, even Sanoske would feel sorry for her. Granted, Cuttah was the only one who offered her own body as a host.
Still, he didn't quite completely follow what Pure meant afterwards. Sure, he understood that Mel was mad at Crystal, but he didn't know what Crystal had told Vetina. Of everyone who did go to the Hylden area, no one was capable of telling him what happened.
Afterwards, Pure asked the Gazimon to stop Mel from trying to do something to Crystal should the time come. He thought for a few moments before giving a reply.
^I will stop him, but with as little harm to you as possible. That is all I could do in the situation. If I had to destroy you I might as well have done the same to Crystal.
But, that aside, what happened there? With Crystal knocked out, Vetina gone, Rippah sick, and you busy, I have not the slightest clue what happened out there. What did Crystal tell Vetina that has Mel so angry at her?^

"Yeah sorry. I guess we never did had a chance to tell you all what happened." Pure started before taking a moment to gather his thoughts, "Well basically when we arrived in the bunker lab that Mel had stored Celeste in, we were... What's the word? Ambush maybe? Well whatever. A few Hylden had decided to show up. One of them being a MagnaAngemon who claimed to be one of their leaders. Some talk then ensued before the MagnaAngemon revealed that Celeste was the one that Vetina was after.
"Some more conversation then happened as things became more tense and MagnaAngemon threatened to capture us all. Mel responded by threatening he was going to activate something that would essentially kill everyone there. That was around when Vetina showed up. She had kindof split off from the rest of us shortly after we had arrived in the Hylden world, so she didn't know about Celeste yet. MagnaAngemon tried to use this to his advantage and well... I think you can guess the rest.
"Crystal ended up telling Vetina everything she knew. Mel went off the deep end and activated his trap, which ended up being him gassing everyone with that weird fog. He then grabbed Celeste, trying to make his escape, but Vetina was hot on his tail. I finally decided to step in, and ended up knocking Mel out in the process." Pure paused.
"Uhh... Sorry. That must have been a pretty bad explanation. Other then all that, and our second meeting with that MagnaAngemon right before we reached the portal, the whole trip proved pretty uneventful. Though you might believe that seeing the state most of us who went are in now."

Sanoske had let out a concerning growl at hearing that Mel had tried to gas everyone when Crystal told Vetina information that apparently spooked Mel that much. He also felt a bit guilty because Sanoske himself had wanted to save Celeste, and he hoped that Mel would at least be grateful.
Still, whatever fears Mel had didn't come to pass. Celeste was safe, and based on Pure's story it didn't seem like Vetina had to be stopped.
^I... only half understand the whole story. I am unsure why Vetina knowing was so dangerous and yet Celeste is safe here with us. And...
...you knocked out Mel? How were you able to do that? Especially since he has apparently been out for hours. Is Mel's hold on you weakening?^

"Well I probably shouldn't be the one telling you this, but the Vetina we know turns out not to be the original. It actually a pretty confusing story from what I understand. So to make a long story short, the original Vetina died and Celeste may have been involved in some way. It's the same reason why Vetina was after Mel in the first place." Pure explained.
"As for how I was able to knockout Mel. Well... I guess I might as well tell you too. Mel and I have ended up becoming fused of sorts after constantly being hit by the anti-hylden ray. This means Mel's hold over me has weaken considerable, but this also means theres a good chance we will never be able to fully separate again." Pure looked over at Crystal's sleeping body, "I wonder if perhaps that gnawing guilt is part of the reason she ended up like this."

The Vetina not being the original was... also quite confusing. It's as if all these secrets and info is just coming out and Sanoske, try as he might, just can't quite grasp onto everything. He had more questions, but it seemed that Pure, try as he might, wouldn't be able to supply all the answers Sanoske wants.
And then the bombshell of Crystal accidentally causing Mel and Pure to fuse together with that anti-Hylden ray. Sanoske let out a growl... not one where he "spoke" outright, but his way of expressing how terribly awkward this would make things. In ensuring that Mel would take over, Crystal doomed her brother to be bound to him.
^Such is life...^

"Your telling me." Pure said with a depressed sigh as he began to get up, "Anyways. Thanks for that talk. It was nice to get all that stuff out of my system. I'm afraid though that I really should take care of something else before Mel wakes up. So just keep doing what your doing and keep an eye on her. There's no one else I trust more for this job."
Pure then walked off. There was something else that he had nearly forgotten about. It wasn't originally his idea that they all should have dinner now. He grabbed a new bowl full of stew and headed outside. He could of sworn he heard Vetina's out here just a little while ago. Pure still hadn't exactly gotten a good chance tp thank her for her assistance during all the craziness that had happened today.

Sanoske nodded in affirmation before Pure left, thankful that he did trust him to watch over Crystal.
Pure would find Betty and Vetina quickly, as they were still just outside the building, by the entrance. Betty sat closer to entrance itself as she examined the wood carving Vetina had made. It was merely of a Biyomon in flight, and it looked a bit rough. Granted, Vetina was a bit out of practice and didn't have the right tools. But the process of making that carving was what Vetina felt she needed... something to take her mind off certain things.
Betty spotted Pure once he got out, asking, "Hey, Pure... did you need one of us?" There were no one else outside and Betty didn't expect him to just eat outside alone.

Pure caught a quick peek of the wood carving as Betty spoke. It looked pretty nice. It appeared to resemble some type of bird digimon in midflight. It was kind of hard to tell from this distance and angle though.
"Oh uhh... Yeah. I know Mel would never willingly say it, so I just wanted to thank both of you for helping us out. It honestly means a lot to me. I fear what would have happened in that bunker if you weren't there Vetina, and it's always nice to have someone's help with the cooking Betty." He said before giving them both a bow.
"I'm sorry if I ended up intruding on any of your personal times. I just wanted to say that before Mel wakes."
