The Gargomon ran through the portal as quickly as he could. His expression revealing the amount of fear he had at that moment. The questions floating around in his head not helping matters at all. What happened to cause her to collapse like that? How badly was Crystal going to be effected by her brief exposure to that place? Was it going to be temporary or permanent? Was he going to lose his sister forever?
Pure wasted no time at all to lay his sister on one of Sanoske's bed once he saw them. Only laying Celeste and her container down on the other once he had taken care of his own sister. She was breathing at least, so that was a good sign. Hopefully she'll recover soon.
"I... I don't know. One moment she seemed fine, then the next she suddenly collapsed." He answered with restrained panic in his voice before turning towards the others. "Vetina, you don't think this could be that MagnaAngemon's doing, do you? That he used some type of move while they were talking to poison her without anyone noticing?"
That MagnaAngemon did seem pretty peeved at Crystal's attitude towards him that it seemed pretty likely to have been the case to Pure's worried mind. Yet was such a thing truly possible? Could he have poisoned her without anyone, including Crystal, noticing?

Once Vetina made it through, the portal was closed. But given the looks of the two returning digimon without any Hylden in them, Karen and Burst were concerned. But Vetina stopped the two from coming closer, holding a hand out before reverting to her rookie form.
"Mind her space to breathe"
"Alrahght. Ah will prepare a resting area. Burst will get the device to put Celeste in Cuttah's body." The three left to do their duties, although even Cuttah could see there was a lot of worry going on. Grabbing Celeste, Cuttah went with Burst.
Pure asked Vetina if the MagnaAngemon poisoned Crystal somehow. But she shook her head. "Him, poison her? Don't question burns wandering a burning forest. I'd say the cause is further under your doormat."
^Huh? What do you mean? Are you implying Mel had... ^
"The story'll find no footing this moment, closing walls provide nearer matters." ---
Lezard watched nervously as Rippah finished vomiting outside before slumping side first against the wall, sitting down. He felt a bit embarrassed to be seen like this
"Ugh... I... I'll be okay Lezard... don't worry about me *welch*"
"You've given me no evidence to tell me otherwise. Look, let me at least stay here and make sure you're fine. Frankly I don't have the stomach to tolerate your dying in a puddle of your own bile.
So don't try to do anything that is too difficult..."

Pure turned to look at Crystal's unconscious form as he listened to Vetina. Why was it always a trial trying to figure out what she was saying? He really only get a hint of what she truly meant from Sanoske's own comment.
"I'm not convince that Mel could have done this. Or, at least, I don't want to be. The only opportunity I can think of was back when he activated that gas thing trying to escape from you. So could that have something to do with it?" He wondered aloud. All the while his acute hearing allowed him to pick up the sounds of Rippah puking outside. Something he really wished he couldn't hear.
Pure took a deep breath in order to clear his head. He needed to remind himself that while Crystal was relatively safe, Celeste could still die any moment now. "Ugh... I hate to admit it, but we really need to focus on our priorities right now. The mission isn't over just about yet after all. Not until we get Celeste into the relative safety of Cuttah's body. Once that's taken care of, we can figure out what happened to Crys."
It scared Pure how easy those words left his lips. He couldn't imagine himself ever saying something like that a few months ago. In fact, thinking back, Pure did say something when MagnaAngemon was chasing him down that he didn't believe he would have ever said before either. Was this Mel having some sort of effect on him?
He still hadn't noticed that some of the fur on Crystal's left ear had now become discolored after all?

Sanoske was a bit surprised himself to hear those words come out of Pure's mouth, but even he also had to agree that, whereas Crystal was relatively safe, Celeste wasn't. He had no idea how long a Hylden could last here, let alone one in Celeste's condition.
^If it is okay with with you, I would rather stay. At least to keep up the beds.^
"Then mind them."
Outside, at the very least, Rippah had ceased vomiting, and continued conversing with Lezard. However, Pure would probably hear that Rippah wasn't feeling too well himself, as if he was sick.
Meanwhile, Cuttah and Burst were quickly setting up the device to get Celeste into her body. Karen, however, was concentrating on making due with what was around. She hadn't expected Rippah and Crystal to come out in such bad conditions. She'd wished she'd go herself, but she was even more worried about what the Hylden area would do to her half digimon body. At the very lease, she didn't want to die, leaving her family again.

Pure nodded to Sanoske when he said he would stay. "That's good. Someone should probably keep an eye on her. Make sure nothing happens to her while we're away." Pure agreed before walking off.
It appeared that Cuttah and Burst were still getting things set up when Pure approached. That was kind of good to see. He was slightly worried that with him being distracted with his own sister, that he was going to be late to help Celeste. Yet, fortunately, everyone seemed to be on top of their jobs.
"Is there anything that I can help with?" Pure asked as he watch the two work.

Sanoske nodded before attentively watching over Crystal. He laid down on all fours, keeping a close eye on her.
Meanwhile, Burst was briskly trying to set things up, but knew well enough to not completely rush through things. He then retrieved Celeste from Cuttah and prepared too use the device.
"I think we got things here. I made sure I was familiar with this thing just in case.
But why isn't Mel out? Figured he'd be out, bossing us around."

Pure scratched the back of his head as the subject of why Mel wasn't bossing them around came up.
"Well... Uhh... He's kind of indisposed at the moment." Pure answered sheepishly as he scratched the back of his head, "He ended up panicing halfway through saving his sister, and so I had to kicking him out of the driver seat as it were before he ended up doing something stupid. Turned out I ended up knocking him out in the process.
"I have to admit. It's actually pretty nice not having his voice constantly in my head. Now if only he didn't sleeptalk."
The patch of discolored fur on Crystal's ears appeared to be spreading as it slowly extended across the length of her ear like a fracture. The color in the center going from the lopmon's usually brown to a color that resembled that of the fog in the Hylden realm. The skin underneath the infected area wasn't spared as it had became bumpy to the touch. One could only guess what that part of her ear would look like now if one were to shave off her fur. Fortunately this appeared to be the only mutation her body has gone through so far.

Burst momentarily set his attention to Cuttah. The device was set up, and he activated it. "This will probably feel a bit uncomfortable, but..."
"I don't care..."
With a shrug, he turned back to Pure. He had heard what he said, but he had a questioning look to his expression.
He then shook his head, realizing what he was doing.
"Sorry, I just... I could have sworn the whole thing with the Hylden digimon was you couldn't just... force yourself back into control... never mind... anyway..."
P-purre!
Sanoske cried out to he Gargomon, actually speaking instead of growling that single word before going back to his growls. ^It is Crystal! There is something going on with her!^
Vetina came back over and saw the discolored ear. Certainly this shouldn't have happened... Crystal was in the fog as a rookie for not that long... But it could have been the stress on her body coupled with Mel's gas.
"Perhaps the... trip back ran her ragged. Her time there like this was of minute length, but a weary temple questions support and skews collapse.
But crumble she won't..."
----
Meanwhile, outside, Lezard saw the appproach of a female flamedramon. Lezard spoke up.
"Uh... well, as you can see now... they're back. Please don't mind my friend here..."
"Uh... sure..."

As Pure was about to explain how he was able to take control of his body back from Mel, he heard Sanoske calling out to him. And it wasn't with one of his growls either. He actually spoke Pure's name. That itself was a sign that something bad had happened.
The Gargomon wasted no time in rushing over to Sanoske, especially once he heard Crystal's name. Once he had made it there he saw what got Sanoske so worried. Right on Crystal's left ear was what appeared to be a long, yellowish scar. Vetina came upon the scene soon after and tried to explain how this could have happened.
"You don't this this will... This will continue to spread, do you?" Pure asked worried. He had no idea how Hylden mutations work, and was still worried for his sister's well-being despite Vetina saying that she should be okay.

Vetina examined Crystal's ear, gently holding it and seeing if it had spread anymore. But it seemed it wasn't going to go beyond what it was now.
"Not to undershoot, but they're 'scars'. Hylden Illness is bound to its origin, so alterations may end here."
Sanoske gave a slight whimper, worried. He could only vaguely understand Vetina, but it seemed she was saying that Crystal would be alright. And then, Vetina asked a simple question.
"You... love her, no?"
Without giving a thought as to why she even asked that question, Sanoske answered. ^Yes, I do. She is main reason I keep going. If she... if she was gone I would not know what to do.^
Sanoske wouldn't see it, but perhaps Pure would... a look to the side as if Vetina was all too familiar with the feeling, or something to that length. Almost in a hurry, she began to walk off, but saw the Flamedramon walk toward the group.
"Betty, you're here. But for what yardage?"
"I was here a couple hours ago and saw you were gone so I decided to go out for a bit... Vetina..."
"Ah...haha... no umbrella and the sky pours weariness. Glad of your arrival, though."
Vetina walked passed Betty, and then out the warehouse. As her friend, Betty was concerned over what gotten Vetina so flustered, but now wasn't the time.

Vetina claimed that Crystal's 'scar' should be the extent of the maladies she would suffer. Or, at least, that's what Pure took away from what she said. Looking to his side, Pure could see a look of relief on Sanoske's face. It appeared he took away pretty much the same message that Pure did. That should be all that he needed, right?
So why was there still this lingering feeling of doubt in the back of his mind? A constant question ringing over and over in his head.
How could she know for sure?
It's that very question that prevented Pure from relaxing. The mere fact that his sister may very well still be in danger meant that he couldn't put his guard down just yet. He hated this about himself. How he couldn't just let things like this go even though every piece of logic tells him to do so. Was this perhaps another piece of Mel that has effected his personality?
No. This was just how he was for as long as he could remember.
Pure looked up from his own inner thoughts as he heard Vetina ask Sanoske something very peculiar. Does he love Crystal? The answer was one that Pure expected from the oversized Gazimon. While he still possessed lingering doubts about Sanoske, he knew full well that the bond between Sanoske and Crystal was a strong one. Perhaps even stronger then the one between Crystal and himself.
Yet why did Vetina ask such an odd question? Pure took note of Vetina's expression that might give him a hint on that. It almost looked like she was familiar with the feeling. Before Pure could mention anything about it though, Vetina took her leave, giving a brief exchange with her friend on her way out.
Pure could only stand there as he wondered what he should do. Should he perhaps follow after her and see what's up? No. From the look of things this is probably one of those things that she's best left to deal with on her own, so that probably means that it's best that he stayed where he was. Or was that just his own doubts and fears clouding his mind again. Making him think that inaction was the best course of action.
Fortunately his stomach had decided to clear things up for him. "Well I don't know about you guys, but I could go for some food about now. So I'll go and see about cooking us up some grub." Pure said as he walked off to do just that. Anything to get his mind off all this depressing stuff.

Betty looked around, feeling a bit awkward, as if she came at a bad time. Everyone else was doing something or was sick, it seems. Betty could only hazard a guess at what happened with Vetina, recollecting on a bit of what Sanoske said that she overheard.
If that was the case, it would have been understandable. She was unaware of how much anyone knew of her past, but Betty got the full details from the Palmon herself.
As an aside, she wasn't too surprised that picked up on Sanoske's growling. Betty had been around Vetina enough to know what she's saying with very good accuracy, but compared to her, Sanoske was like an "auto-pilot". In any case, digimon with strange ways of talking weren't getting to her much.
"Hey, dahlin, Ah got a place you can put Crystal in. Best Ah can do in short notice."
Case in point.
As Sanoske took Crystal to where Karen set up the beds, Betty went after Pure. "Hey, uh... Pure, was it? Mind if I help you cook? I mean... if you're gonna cook, might as well have a Flamedramon around, you know?"/color]

"Uhh... Sure. I can't see why not." Pure replied to Betty's offer to help him with cooking. "Just give me a second to get in a more comfortable form. Still not use to having to use these large hands."
Once Pure had said that, he returned back into his Terriermon form. It was just something he felt more comfortable cooking in. Now time for the next step.
"So then. Any ideas on what we should make today? I was thinking about whipping up a stew for everyone, but I'm not quite sure if that's for the best." Pure then asked as he began washing his hands.

Betty shrugged when Pure said he would have to revert to a more comfortable form. She tapped her own gauntlets as she replied. "Hey, I've been there before. Granted... I can just take mine off if I really need to."
Stew seemed like a good idea. At the very least, she was in no position to be picky in a place like this.
"Stew seems fine. Just don't have me be the main one cooking... I admit, I'm not much of a cook. I just needed something to do since everyone else is preoccupied.
Anyway, I'm Betty, Vetina's friend and, uh... translator. At least... as her friend I ended up becoming her translator as well since I know what she's saying with near perfect accuracy, haha..."
Of course, Betty remembered seeing him before the drinking contest, but all things considered Betty decided to not bring that up. Besides, she knew it was Mel in control. ------
Vetina was in her LeviaRanamon from now. She was some distance from the warehouse, ensuring that she had her privacy for the time being. In front of her was a fallen branch that she had cut down. With a few more swings of her spear, the thick branch was cut into pieces.
She scanned the chopped wood before picking up a price piece, before siting down and begin whittling away at it with her dagger. She began thinking to herself, slowly shaping the wood, bit by bit.
"It's been a while since I last whittled like this... but I can't just stay in there... no... I don't think I could contain my jealousy..."

Well stew it was then. Pure started pulling out all the stuff they would need for the stew. The warehouse wasn't exactly fully stocked with everything he could have wanted, but that was to be expected. He didn't expect everyone to stay here all that much longer anyways. Especially now that their main mission was just about done. They had their own lives to get back too after all.
"Well it's nice to officially meet you Betty. I'm Pure... Though you already knew that already." Pure said as he picked out vegetables and handed some to Betty. "So how about we start by chopping up some veggies? What's a good stew without any vegetables after all."
