A Wrong Turning (Amelie || Elliot & Isaac Sunderland)

Amy certainly looked tired enough, and Rinji couldn't blame her; humans weren't supposed to be nocturnal, as he'd observed from his short time spent with them. For her sake, he hoped whatever Isaac was planning would allow her to at least get a short nap soon.
And... why was he leaving to go into the bathroom? "Huh, what!?" Isaac turning into a dragon? He and Amy were being pranked, right?
If it weren't for the crimson eyes staring at him through the darkness, that is. Squirming and blubbering was all he could muster as he was plucked from the ground, feeling much like a hapless worm being carried off by a bird. The most he could do at this point was clutch onto what was apparently Isaac's claws with his legs in an attempt to get a better grip. Falling from any height wasn't in his list of things he wanted to do.
Once the team was above a certain height however, and Rinji could feel the wind ruffle his antennae: he had the heart to look down.
His eyes widened at the sight, and as much as it frightened him, it also... excited him. The lights of the city buildings shone brighter than any stars he'd ever seen, and the humans - they looked so small, as if they were bugs and he was a bird.
It was almost unfathomable to believe that for Amy, Elliot, and Isaac, living in a city like this was entirely normal for them.
Gathering his courage and thinking he'd get a better look at Isaac, Rinji strained his head and looked up at the dragon. Elliot was riding on Isaac's back - if that really was Isaac. He couldn't believe it; humans couldn't become digimon. Unless digimon could become human? Maybe that was it, Isaac and Elliot were digimon in disguise! No... that didn't make any sense either.
He had a lot of questions for when they reached the ground again.

The following moments were a bit awkward, at least in a sense. Isaac looked like he had a brilliant idea, and Elliot... like his brother had a really awful idea. Personal experience told Amy that Elliot probably was the right one here, and that made her feel slightly nervous. How bad could it be, though?
Apparently, real bad; Elliot trying to explain what they were about to do made the brunette's body shiver slightly. Why was he struggling so much to convey something as trivial as a means of transportation? And why Isaac had gone to the bathroom...?
This was utterly confusing. And became slightly frightening as soon as "Isaac" exited the bathroom. Amy's eyes widened like saucers at the strange visage in front of her. "Well, s*it." Probably this verified the teenager's initial theory on these two being some kind of alien; after all, why young teens would be out on the street at this time in the morning. Anyhow...
Amy obviously hadn't stomached the situation fully when she had gotten grabbed by the strange being that had been Isaac moments ago. Before she could add anything to her initial reaction, the brunette found herself taking off from the ground. Was she... was she flying? The sudden impulse made her stomach churn, her features already tinged with a sickly green. This wasn't good.
Feeling like she'd throw up as soon as she opened her mouth, the brunette pointed at the general direction where her apartment was, hoping that either Elliot, Isaac or Rinji would get it. The place itself was a bit hard to miss; a huge apartment complex, probably among the tallest buildings in the area.

Rinji looked almost in awe of the sights below, even if at the same time he looked somewhat terrified. Whereas before he was scrambling and clawing, now he was sitting perfectly still. The look in his big eyes was as bright as the lights below. Elliot couldn't help but smile seeing that. Less majestic was Amelie. From the green tone to her skin to the frantic way in which she pointed, it was clear that she was not having a good time here. Why did Isaac have to pick such a boneheaded plan? Sure, it was working, but it was still so dumb!
"I'm so sorry," he said, trying to address both of them. "My big bro just gets carried away sometimes. But hey, at least we're almost at your home, right?"
As Amelie shakily pointed the way forward, Isaac nodded. "Big apartment, eh?" he asked, grinning. "Which floor? Penthouse suite? Gotta ask before I pick which window I drop you guys off at, after all." At this comment the Devidramon laughed uproariously, barely remembering to hush up so his voice didn't echo all the way down to the streets below.
Elliot paled slightly. "You wouldn't," he said, shaking his head in disbelief. Isaac was reckless, but not charge through an entire apartment complex reckless!
With a gentle pat to the head, Isaac tried to comfort his brother. It probably would've been more comforting if it was with a hand and not with a hard tail tip. "Ah, relax. I'm just messing around," he assured everyone on board. "I'll make sure to land first. Jeez, I'm not that crazy!" The that wasn't very helpful!
That said, he did indulge himself in a few sweeping aerial shots before aiming himself at Amelie's house. The city was really beautiful at this time of night, and he never had the chance to admire it in such a fashion before. He let out a whistle, super satisfied with the beauty he was witnessed. "No other way to get a view like this," he hummed. "God, maybe I should do this more often!"
As they approached the apartment complex Isaac flared his wings out, rapidly losing speed and slowly losing altitude. Once he had come to a slow enough speed he angled himself downwards, continuing to angle his wings for the purposes of a gentle descent. This trip was probably hell enough on his passengers as is. The least he could do was give them a smooth landing. Then, once he hit the ground, he gently let the duo go. "And here you are! Pretty great ride, right?" he asked, darting behind an alleyway to transform in peace.
A few seconds later, Isaac darted back out. As if nothing happened, he was back to human form. "Alrighty, that's my part done. Lead the way, please!"

Landing onto the ground almost felt like a disappointment, after such an exhilarating ride. "Huh... almost feels weird to be on the ground again, now," Rinji stated, as an afterthought to being put back down. So was this huge metal building where Amy lived? Her home must've been huge, and speaking of her...
"Amy, are you alright?"
The girl in question was decidedly pale, and come to think of it... she hadn't said much during the ride, had she? But now they were back within the depths of the city, instead of soaring above it, and Amy did not look healthy.
As much as riding on the back of a dragon digimon had been both thrilling (at least for him) and fast, it was... a dumb idea, in hindsight. Although he wouldn't say that aloud.
"Uh... Isaac, I don't know if you knew or not, but Amy's had a... rough night. Maybe we should take it a little easy? Just for now?" With a hint of emphasis on the word 'rough', meaning that she'd been drinking. He still had a lot of questions for the brothers as well, but he supposed he could hold them off for a better time.

The instant when they landed could probably qualify as one of the most relieving in the brunette's life. She would probably kiss the ground if it weren't for...
Quick, something; anything. Amy's eyes darted desperately around her until they found... a trash can. A mad dash ensued and not a second after she was in front of it, she... emptied the contents of her stomach on it, so to say. The aftermath of it was more or less okay; yeah, the lingering taste was pretty awful, but at least she had done a good job at not spewing stuff where it didn't go; especially her clothes.
Taking a deep breath, she returned to where she was, her facetaking a bit of a sheepish expression as she regarded the Elliot, Isaac and Rinji. "Sorry for that." An honest apology, even if probably unneeded. "I'm fine now; thanks for asking. Let's get in."
She didn't feel like talking at the moment, so she just gestured at the group to follow her as she went through the door, called in the elevator and ascended all the way to the third floor.
That was it; the apartment wasn't really big or overly decorated; the rather sober pale yellow of the walls resonated softly with the white tiles of the floor, all around giving a rather calm, yet not boring appearance. The place could accommodate for everyone currently present, the large couch of the living room probably big enough for everyone to sit in with some space to spare. And... Amy's target to collapse into once she made sure of locking the door. "Jeez. I never thought I'd feel so happy about being at home." A sigh of genuine relief escaped her throat as she closed her eyes, just now the brunette realizing how tired she felt. "But we're here finally. What an adventure."

Both brothers blinked as they tried to process just what Rinji meant by 'rough night.' Naturally, Elliot was the first to speak, eyes shining with worry as he turned to a returning Amelie. "Are you okay?" he asked, voice equal parts tired and hopeful. "If there's anything we can do to help you, we'd be more than happy to." It seemed that Elliot had completely missed Rinji's implication, but he made up for it with a ton of enthusiasm.
Isaac was far more understanding of what Rinji meant, letting out a nod of understanding. He approached Amy sheepishly, a small frown on his face. "I'm sorry about that," he said. "That form can get real out of hand sometimes, and I didn't realize you were so bad off." It was a pity, too. He was so caught up in showing off the majesty of the view that he had forgotten about the passengers' comfort.
At the very least Amy seemed to be pushing past it well enough, even if she was doing so less out of genuine comfort and more out of an urge to get this day over with as soon as possible. A pang of guilt shook through Isaac as he thought about how he could possibly make up for this.
Hangover coffee. Perfect.
At least Amy's apartment seemed really nice. The brothers smiled placidly as they looked over it, Elliot in particular making a beeline for the couch. Considering that the tiny boy was taking up maybe a quarter of a cushion, Isaac figured it wasn't enough of an obtrusion to chastise Elliot over. "This place is really nice," he said, dreamily interrupting his own words with a yawn.
"Really was an adventure, wasn't it?" Isaac asked. "I think we all earned a bit of shut eye now, huh?" Isaac didn't planned on getting even a shred of it, of course. He had far, far too much work to do.

The Scolomon tagged along at the back of the group; he'd been relatively quiet since Amy had been sick. It wasn't a pretty sight, but at least she was a little better now.
It was strange how this had all come around. Him, a digimon, trapped in the human world, a human girl who didn't know anything about digimon - and two strange boys, one of whom could turn into a digimon as well. And now they had all banded together, waiting in an elevator to visit Amy's place.
"Oh, you only live on the third floor..." he half-talked to himself, finally realising when Amy had lead them inside. It was a tame abode, comfy and sterile. It was nothing like he was used to, his own home being exposed to the wind and trees. Did city digimon live like this?
Either way, it was a relief to finally be somewhere safe. "Yeah, I don't think I've ever been this far from home before," he said in reply to Isaac. He yawned a little, but restrained from throwing himself into the sofa. Instead he opted to sit down on the floor, tucking his legs beside him, in case he had to get up again. It was also a matter of not taking up the whole of the sofa if he were to spread out onto it.
There again, he was so tired, he could just...

It wasn't the first time the teenager had thrown up; and while the sensation didn't really feel nice, she wasn't going to make a big deal out of it. Isaac's apologies, while nice weren't really needed. "It's fine. Don't worry about me; I've been through worse stuff." She said, a vague smile on her face. It wasn't really forced, but the tiredness showed pretty readily. "Let's just get this over with."
Seemingly, she wasn't the only one who was completely drained. This had been a rough night for everyone, huh? Still, Amy had a rather interesting pet peeve that, even when completely exhausted, just didn't let her sleep.
Even on a couch, she just couldn't stand the notion of using clothes that had been through the street all the night to sleep. It just made her feel a little dirty. So, summoning some of the last bits of force she had, Amy... stood up and trying to not to make a sound, went towards her bedroom. There, the teenager undid her hair and changed into a fresh set of pajamas quickly before returning to the living room and noticing that Isaac seemed to still be awake. "You should get some sleep, you know?" She said to him, barely above a whisper. "I'm not gonna do anything to either you or Elliot, so you can be at ease. I promise."
Whether she got a positive or a negative answer, the brunette went to the couch right away; just then was when she had noticed that Rinji had taken the floor for his bed. Why? The couch seemed to be way more comfortable. So, making sure to do it as delicately as possible, Amy got a hold of his body and made sure to at least make his head (the real one) rest on one of the many pillows the sofa had. Way better.
Unwittingly, however, she had fallen asleep while embracing the digimon.

Elliot didn't need to be told twice to get this over with. Even with his tendency to sleep incredibly lightly, he had been up inordinately late today. Curling up on the tiny portion of the couch that he had claimed, Elliot slowly started tossing and turning his way to sleep. He didn't look too comfortable, but then again he never looked very comfortable sleeping. Isaac, taking a bit of worry over his brother, made sure to reach into his brother's backpack and slide his favorite pillow under his head. That seemed to ease some of Elliot's stirring, at least.
Content, Isaac turned around and found Amy looking at him. Did she think he was scared or uncomfortable or something? "Oh! No, I don't think you'd do anything like that," Isaac assured her. "I was just making sure my brother was all good before I went to sleep. He's not a great sleeper.
By the way, do you have a coffee machine or anything like that?" he asked. "It helps Elliot in the morning, so I was wondering if I could borrow it for a bit tomorrow." Nope! No secret, apologetic purposes here, no sirree! Thankfully, Isaac had a very good poker face.
If only he knew how Rinji liked his coffee. Did Rinji even like coffee? All due respect, he definitely didn't look like the caffeinated sort.
Regardless, once he had his questions answered, Isaac would drift off to sleep. That is, of course, until daybreak hit. Were he to get permission to borrow Amy's coffee machine, he would've made a point of waking up first and getting down to business.
Isaac just couldn't deal with idle hands, could he?

Talk of coffee machines and a vague feeling of being shuffled into a new position made the digimon peel open his eyes, revealing bright amber between the cracks of his eyelids - the world of Amy's living room a blurry mess in his vision. An incoherent mumble of confusion followed when the fact that Amy was... cuddling him registered on his sleep addled mind.
If Rinji were human, he'd be blushing fiercely by now. Nonetheless, he closed his eyes again, and let Amy continue her hugging. He didn't mind. Maybe he even nuzzled a little closer into her arms; humans were pretty soft, for having no fur.
Elliot was also asleep next to them, on the other end of the makeshift bed, and Isaac looked like he'd be about to join them soon as well. He briefly wondered why he hadn't earlier, but the thought soon left his mind in his still dozy state.
By now he'd realised he'd been hoisted up onto the sofa. It was soft and springy whenever he or the other humans moved, like a bed of moss. It wasn't long til he'd drifted off once again, his breathing slowed and steadied by the onset of slumber.
Soon enough, he was dreaming about giant leaves, city buildings and black dragons. His dream state was hinted only by the small, irregular twitching of his legs - as the digital sleep paralysis subroutines kicked in, ready to sort and repair his data while he slept.
Either digital or organic, sleep was an incredible process.

And just like that, a night that Amy probably would have described as one of the weirdest of her life came to pass; sharing a couch with... a little kid and a sentient centipede she had nicknamed Rin-Rin after party night. In all honesty, she wasn't sure if this experience was real or if she had just gone crazy and began to have vivid hallucinations. Oh well, at least the world of dreams was pretty good at making her forget about that. How much had she slept? Amy wasn't sure, but judging by that lingering feeling of tiredness and the slight throbbing of her head, it probably wasn't much. Or maybe it was, and hangover wasn't playing nice.
In any case, she began to rub her eyes a bit before stretching her arms while long, yet soft yawn escaped her lips. Once her eyes opened, she confirmed that things were still as they were. Rinji was still besides her, and Elliot was some distance away. Isaac, on the other hand... where was he? Oh well, he could be anywhere as long as that place wasn't the bathroom at the moment. Otherwise, things would get really awkward.
Lest to say, nature called!

Elliot let out a soft yawn as he started to stir. He rolled ever-so-slightly to the side, and if this was his bed he'd be in perfect position to climb out and start the day. Unfortunately, he wasn't in his bed. He was on the edge of Ami's couch, and he rolled clean off. His eyes snapped open in a panic just in time for him to fling his arms out and catch himself. As a very close view of Amy's carpet showed, he had barely managed to avoid falling flat on his face. "I'm okay!" he said, taking a few breaths to stabilize himself.
He propped himself up and started givings his surroundings a good look-around. They were nice. Quaint. Amy was currently snuggled up with Rinji, a somewhat hilarious mental image. Isaac was, predictably, nowhere to be found. Elliot took his walking stick and started moving around the house, trying to find his brother without disturbing the sleeping duo too much. Then again, with Amy stirring, she'd probably disturb herself soon. "Hey? Bro?" Elliot whispered, as if hoping his questioning would somehow make his brother magically appear.
He may have been right on that note. In the middle of his search, Elliot heard a quiet knock come from the other side of the door. His first instinct was Do Not Open No Matter What. This wasn't his house! Besides, it could've been a very polite burglar. However, upon hearing some very familiar grumbling, Elliot let out a sigh of relief and opened the door.
Sure enough, Isaac was on the other side, mumbling "Didn't even have a coffee machine . . ." under his breath. There were some bags under his eyes. Immediately Elliot knew Isaac was insisting on doing something needless and stupid. If it wasn't what Isaac was saying, it was the fact that he had a set of four coffees nestled within one arm and was awkwardly balancing a pile of stir-in toppings in his somewhat free hand. "Thanks for letting me in, bro," he said, sliding into the door. He set the coffees down with a sigh of relief.
"Okay, seriously, what are you doing?" Elliot asked, quite baffled by what had just unfolded.
"I felt bad about shaking Amy up yesterday," Isaac admitted. "I was totally going to brew up some coffee to make up for it, and help with any hangovers she might've had. But then she didn't have a coffee machine, so I had to run out and buy some. That would've probably been easier if I had a key, but that'd ruin the surprise."
"You're ridiculous," Elliot said, trying to hide his fond smile as he shook his head. "I think you beat them to waking up, at least? How early did you leave at?"
". . . 5 . . ."
"And you say I'm the one with the sleep problem," Elliot chided. "Still, that was really thoughtful of you. I'm sure everyone'll get a kick out of it, once they wake up." Would they, though? From here, all the bros could do was wait and see.

Stirring from his sleep, Rinji's senses were met with a peculiar scent. He almost panicked when he opened his eyes to the unfamiliar surroundings, until his thoughts finally caught up with him - that's right, he was still in the human world. Satisfied that his moment of confusion was over, he turned his head over to the doorway, where the scent had come from.
"Elliot? Isaac?" Amy seemed to have had gotten up while he was sleeping, and the twins were up and talking to each other. "What's that?" The aroma, one he'd never encountered before, was emanating from a selection of foam cups. "It smells... kind of nice," It was warm and pleasant. And it looked like there was one for each of them. Where had they come from?
Well, it must've been morning by now. The light was casting a soft glow from through the curtains... so it was maybe 6 am by now? Normally he was able to tell the time without the use of a clock, but he wasn't sure if that skill would still hold up in the human world. For all he knew, the human world could have a completely different length of day.
He hoisted himself up into what could be called best as a sitting position - with his body still spread flat on the seat, and with his head held up. "Do either of you want to sit down? I think there's enough room," he offered, noting that he'd left just about enough room for both Elliot and Isaac, and eventually Amy as well.
If he were to be honest, he was quite hungry by now; he hadn't eaten since before he'd boarded the Trailmon to Terminus City. And now he was eyeing the drinks curiously. It wasn't food, but he'd happily take any form of sustenance by now.

Sorry for the delay. Phew... Amy felt way better once she exited the bathroom. Now that she was somewhat awake, the scene in front of her unfolding still remained as slightly strange; guess her memories of riding a black dragon thing weren't just delusions caused due to being slightly inebriated, even if the nascent headache currently making her head throb was an indication that... at least that much had happened yesterday. Oh well.
"Good morning." She said calmly, waving at the strange trio that currently occupied her apartment. For a moment, she began to wonder how this whole pseudo-mess began, but abandoned such train of thought almost instantly. Now that was taken care of, her gaze wandered idly until it collided with a recollection of four cups placed on the table. Somewhat intrigued, she pointed at them. "What are those?" She asked, her voice brimming with curiosity. Pity that she had lost all the previous interactions in order to relieve herself.
Guessing that everything would be explained to her in due time, she would just take her seat besides Rinji.

Isaac smiled a little as he noticed that his coffee was the topic of the night. Er, morning, really. "I felt really bad about making you nauseous last night while you were drunk," Isaac started. "And I know sometimes drinking can give you one heck of a hangover in the morning. So I figured I'd slip out and get you some coffee for the morning after so you'd feel better." There was a sheepish look in his eyes as he turned to Amy, adding "So, yeah. That's my apology, I guess."
Elliot looked positively giddy over the concept. "Oooh, you guys are lucky!" he cheered, excitedly panning through the list of ingredients that Isaac had brought with him. "You guys might not've known this, but my bro is totally one of the mysteriously handsome and talented guys staffing the maid cafe around here. He's gotten really good at spicing these things up since working there."
"It's just store brought, bro," Isaac said, blushing a little from the praise. "You're acting like I'm pressing the stuff right from the bean in front of them. And I only brought a few things over, anyway."
Isaac's definition of "a few" seemed pretty liberal, considering that along with the usual milk, cream, and sugar there were also some caramel and vanilla syrups. "So, how do you guys like your coffee?" He remained stooped by the table, ready to mix them up per Amelie and Rinji's requests.
Elliot, far more opportunistic, took a jet-black cup and graciously accepted Rinji's offer to sit. It still weirded Isaac out that a boy with such a sweet tooth always had his coffee in the most unmodified way possible.
