The Great City: Opening [PLOT] [5/5]

Only able to watch her partner fly off in the vehicle greatly worries Alice as she observes the massive, heavy artillery ready itself... That thing, the Juggernaut, only raises more questions in her head. A mechanized weapon to attack Digimon... The thought makes her think that perhaps Tamers weren't the first people openly exploring and researching the Digital World. And maybe the people who were here first never really stopped studying it. So many questions, but no answers. A puzzle with missing pieces. At least Alice is left alone to ponder these thoughts.
Dorothy, on the other hand, is situated with Akemi, hearing their comment as she gazes at the multitude of buttons, gauges and other things on the human's side of the vehicle. Of course, there's several on Dorothy's side as well, but less, the high tech machine making her confused and yet intrigued. "Yeah, yeah, I'll wait for things to get smashed first. No point in doin' that when everyone's okay..." Before she can argue against Akemi's use of the speed boost, The witch holds onto her hat, screeching for a brief moment as she is suddenly jerked backwards by the acceleration. "GYAH! Hey, watch where you're goin' with this thing! Crashing into the enemy ain't a good idea!" She is, of course, joking for now, but with so little understanding of human technology, a slight anxiety is present in her words. She's almost thankful that Adrian has begun his assault on the Juggernaut, two flaming rocks impacting the heavy machine and undoubtedly causing at least a little damage. "Well, that's a start, didn't take long for us to begin attacking it... Gyahaha, Let's tear this thing to bits, everyone!" While she wishes she could be the one driving, at the same time, she's relieved she isn't. Flying around on your own isn't the same as flying with a friend, after all.

"Alright, Cion, looks like we're getting started. Let's do this!" he said enthusiastically. He got a feel for the controls of the machine and began to march it forward. He had to admit, this was pretty awesome to control. He looked over the what the machine was capable of "Looks like we have some interesting tools at our disposal...if we get in a pinch or they're about to hit us with something big, I can launch a kind of flare and you can activate the defense mode on this thing."
He watched as Akemi and Dorothy speed off into the distance due to the speed boost of their vehicle "...I hope they'll be okay..." was all he managed to say before returning his focus to the task at hand. "I'll give you the cue to activate the defense mode, okay? I think waiting for a big attack so I can launch the flare would be a good combo with that. Everyone else would be safe and it would waste an attack."
Adrian and Shoutmon made the first real attack against the Juggernaut "Good going guys! We're on our way!" he sped up the Siege engine, though it was still significantly slower than the others. When they eventually got within range, Toki pressed a button on the side of the controls. The ram at the front of the Siege Engine rushed forward in an attempt to slam into the Juggernaut's body. As to not get in the way of the others, he would also attempt to move in reverse, using the force of the ram to aid in their retreat.

Toki activates the Siege Engine's Ram to attack the Juggernaut.

"Aye!" Cion responded confidently, gladly assuming the control over the secondary power of the Siege Engine that Toki controlled. There was unfortunately not much for her to do than watch the battle at hand and wait for the right time to activate their vehicle's ability to become invincible for a couple of seconds. Nothing to really write home about, but it served their function as a moving bulwark quite well. Then again, the restrained Arniomon did not know how powerful the Juggernaut actually was, so who knows? Maybe this encounter was going to be easy, or perhaps it was bound to be incredibly difficult.
"Indeed." The silver fennec calmly approved of her friend's plan, her focus still on the dashboard and cameras in front of her. All of this was far more clumsy than anything her partner Vertigo provided, but for as long as it contributed to a clear purpose it had to suffice. Regardless, it was hard for her to accept that these machines were capable of challenging the might of actual digimons. What were they made of - a digizoid alloy of unheard capabilities? She queried that... though she was also intrigued for a variety of reasons.
Sighing, the ancient soul, unable to contribute a lot as of yet, sought to ease the boy's worries. "Don't worry. I can always heal people if they are injured. Just not these units we drive." She assured him, her attention lingering on the massive, mindless adversary the had to vanquish. "Would be good if we knew its whole range of attacks first before spending our invincibility..." She commented quietly, wondering how patient the lad would be with their approach. Seeing him fervently assault the Juggernaut affirmed Cion that caution had been thrown out the window. Oh dear...

Great Juggernaut: 1500 HP. The first round was nice and simple; the Great Juggernaut stood still, apparently immobile, but sprang to life as soon as both the Boulder Barrage and the Ram collided with it; immediately, the machine sprang to life, its gears and systems functioning at full potency.
From one second to the next, a discharge of electrical energy came out from the vehicle, enveloping the whole arena; disrupting the integrity of every vehicle currently present only for that current to be absorbed right afterward by the environment. For now, it seemed to go dormant, but who knew when it would spring again.
Right afterward, the behemoth of a vehicle proceeded to charge directly towards the Onager. For something that was undoubtedly big, its speed was pretty surprising. If not stopped somehow, the gap between the two vehicles would be closed. And considering that it hasn't shown any of its weapons, it probably wouldn't end well at all for the vehicle currently piloted by Adrian if that was the case. Every vehicle loses 25 HP due to the discharge. Great Juggernaut: 1425 HP.

Well, immediately, the group had been faced with a dilemma of the "We just got hit by a big old electrical discharge" from the giant omnivehicular robot thing.
How troublesome. However, Akemi had an idea and she was going to put it into execution right goddamn now. This did hinge on whether or not the others could capitalize on the pitch she was about to lay down. She revved up her velocipede and aimed to drive between the charging behemoth and the Onager, something made much easier with the speed boost, before she hit the button to enact the first part of this (hopeful) strategy.
Pitch: Leaves a trail of black pitch for on the vehicle's next post. Any vehicle advancing through the pitch gets its speed reduced by half for one post. 2-post cooldown.
She left a big ol' trail of pitch to serve as a deterring line to slow that juggernaut and hopefully give the guys a target for their explosive projectiles. "THROW THE EXPLOSIVES THERE!"

Dorothy holds on for her life, still a bit surprised at how fast this contraption is going. Of course, such speeds are far from dangerous for the Digimon, but the mere fact a machine like any of these can even operate like this unsettles the witch a bit. Having seen similar things out in the Human World with Alice made it a bit less shocking, but nothing with weaponry. Nothing that could attack and potentially kill on its' own, a truly soulless machine designed to kill. At least Anzu has a plan, she thinks to herself as an oil slick is sprayed across the ground from the pilot's input. Despite wanting to help, she knows that it would be best to wait for a better time, judging by what little she can make sense of on the dashboard, having been taught a little bit of human language by Alice. The main functions operable from this sidecar are mostly support ones, even more so than the pilot's, and that is a bit of a letdown to her. It could be worse, though. An unreliable machine like this could burst into flames at any given moment. "Whatever you've got planned in that head of yours better work... And hey, if someone's damaged, I think I need to be close to 'em to use this... Repair function?" She shrugs, Dorothy having a little bit of trouble understanding the full situation, given how foreign it is. Being anywhere near the Juggernaut makes her uneasy, the implication that the hulking, automated war machine was made to combat Digimon apparent to even her.
No actions have been taken by Dorothy.

It was extremely surprising to see this massive Juggernaut spring to life as soon as it got hit with attacks. It was pretty much a jumpscare, in Adrian's eye. Oh well, no matter... time to bring this thing down!
Or maybe it'll take everyone ELSE down, as it released an electric current that hurt. Badly. "OUCH!" Shoutmon would yell. "Being electrocuted was NOT on my bucket list!"
"And fighting a mechanized vehicle inside another mechanized vehicle was?" Adrian sarcastically asked. "We're perfectly fine, nothing to worry about."
And then the opposite happened when Juggernaut began to charge right at the Onager.
"Okay, NOW we have something to worry about!" Adrian screamed as he attempted to drive out of the Juggernaut's way, immediately driving the opposite direction. Both pilot and passenger freaked out as this large behemoth chased after them! Thankfully, Akemi was quick and drove in between him and the Juggernaut, releasing a pitch for the large truck.
"Akemi, you just saved our asses big time," Shoutmon would thank Akemi over the vehicle comms. Now was his time to shine. "Alright, you big hunka junk... take THIS!" The red Digimon would then press a button, launching an Explosive Barrel at the Pitch.
Passenger uses an Explosive Barrel, which deals 10 HP Damage and ignites Pitch, which creates a stream of fire causing 25 HP Damage.
The Onager - 150 HP remaining

Toki gritted his teeth at the sudden, rude awakening of the Juggernaut and braced himself for the massive electric attack. "Starting out strong, huh..?" he muttered and decided to be a little more cautious after that disaster, though it likely would have hit their vehicle anyway. "You okay in there, Cion?" he asked his companion as he assessed the situation.
The rest of the team was already working in unison, which was a great sight to see right now. The pitch would hopefully slow down the rampaging machine. He overheard Dorothy's mention of a repair function "Repair? That gives me an idea. Everyone, whenever I use a flare to draw the Juggernaut in to hit me, gather up behind me and get your repairs...I'll do everything I can to keep you all safe while repairs are underway!"
He watched as Adrian and Shoutmon's vehicle launch an explosive barrel at the pitch, creating a trail of flames in the Juggernaut's path. "Alright, good one!" he said. With the flames in the way, Toki didn't want to get too close to the Juggernaut, but he did however attempt to get between it and Adrian's vehicle to give them a better chance to reposition. He got a good feel for the range on the Siege Engine's ram when he attacked the first time. "Let's go!" he pressed the button and launched the ram towards the Juggernaut once more. "This will take a while...but I believe in us..." he said, nodding to himself. "Cion, do you have any plans as well? If you do, let's hear them!"

Toki repositions and attacks the Juggernaut with the Siege Engine's ram, trying to hit it for 25 damage.

Though annoying, it appeared that the electrical discharge of the the 'Great Juggernaut' did not actually inflict too much damage upon any other vehicle, including the fragile ones. While the others did their thing, mainly attacking their target with pitch and fire, Cion's attention lingered on the scenario at hand and her co-pilot Toki who controlled the primary functions of their 'Siege Engine'. "I'm fine. Our tank is quite sturdy." She calmly assured the lad that everything was under control for the time being. However, since they did not know the extent of their enemy's powers, that was probably going to chance soon.
With the inexperienced yet witty boy formulating a decent plan, the silver fennec watched as her driver intended to ram the opponent. "Unfortunately, no. I just prepare myself to press the invincibility button in case a very powerful attack comes our way." She stated with focus in her voice and golden eyes. Regrettably, the machine they commanded was kind of dull when it came to secondary features. No quick repairing, no igniting - merely invulnerability for a few seconds that required some recharge time. Oh well - at least it aligned with her typical role in combat.

Great Juggernaut: 1425 HP. Teamwork seemed to be going rather smoothly, Akemi and Adrian managing to come up with an amazing one-two punch that managed to both injure and slow The Juggernaut by quite a bit. And, while still moving on its general direction, it was obvious that it'd take its sweet time to reach The Onager. Just in time for the Siege Engine to ram directly into the opposing vehicle, too! The challengers had undoubtedly upped their game by quite a bit just now.
Would it be enough, however? Another discharge ensued, electrical arcs filling the air and affecting pretty much everyone who wasn't extremely near or in immediate constant with the mechanic behemoth, even if the Siege Engine's fate wouldn't be any... better, in all honesty. Before the vehicle could disengage, The Juggernaut replied in kind with a ramming motion on its own, aimed directly at the opposing vehicle.
What would happen next? It was for the combatants to decide. Every vehicle except The Siege Engine loses 25 HP due to the discharge. The Juggernaut will attempt to ram the Siege Engine, dealing 50 HP. Great Juggernaut: 1365 HP.

Velocipede HP is at 75.
Akemi felt good about that. "Kaboom!" Granted, she didn't feel all too good about being hit with another discharge. But the fact people caught onto that little gambit she had thrown out there was rather uplifting. Furthermore, with how the Juggernaut was capable of dealing...that much damage?
She had a plan. "Okay, Dorothy, Weee're gonna get out of range of the behemoth and behind Toki and Cion. Anyone who needs repairs is welcome to come over here!"
God, she hoped this was a good idea. This was a fragile vehicle. And the repair function was probably one of if not the biggest boons they could have right now thanks to the witch at her side. The Velocipede sped over behind the Siege Engine!
Right when the boost cut off.

"What's this thing made of? Glass!?" Dorothy grumbles at the fact that the Velocipede has clearly taken a fair amount of beating, the vehicle shuddering a little from the electric shocks. As Akemi states her plan, the witch Digimon listens, her expression doubtful, but given the alternative, she has to agree. "...Yeah, yeah, we kinda need to regroup a lil' bit... Unless that dumb hunk of metal's gotta cannon or somethin'." The other function the sidecar has is completely different in comparison to its' repair function, and something she doesn't want to press. An eject. Something probably best used as an absolute last resort.
"...Hey!" She shouts to the others in their vehicles. "If the dumb thing tries to blast us while we do repairs, try 'n do somethin' about that! Got it? Don't wanna see it pull any tricks!"

Great Juggernaut: 1365 HP.
Suddenly, the Great Juggernaut's pistons began to work at full speed. Seemingly, the biggest surge of energy seen thus far in the fight was about to be released. "TERMINATION PROTOCOL INITIATED."The discharge was strong and bright enough to blind everyone currently present, even back at the console room. Its result? After it receded, the whole group found itself right outside Terabyte Mountain. The Chasm that had led everyone inside? Now it was completely closed, almost as if it never had been there in first place. Yet... the memories were still there; what had happened within was as real as it could get, going as far as to leave a couple of mementos on some individuals' hands. Had it been a nudge for them to try their luck again later? Or maybe it was just a mocking reminder of the group's eventual failure? These, and many other mysteries lingered in the cold air that surrounded Terabyte mountain as everyone gathered their bearings. Great Juggernaut: 1365 HP.
