Oh had that week been absolutely a treat, the entire time she spent with her family. She kept that secret, kept her studies and training. Though they'd wonder where exactly she likely had went the meicoomon had left a letter stating that she would be back in short order. It was simple and to the point, as if she told them what was really going on would only make them... well. Irritable, worried and such. So it was better to just use this as an excuse to travel and explore.
But that didn't matter much when she set down on luminas, the strange city yawning open to her like a massive gate of knowledge and power. Her breath was literally taken out of her lungs and she was left speechless. She didn't even notice all the people staring at the out of place cat. Some with disgust, others with curiosity of their own. It was rare to see one that wasn't a problem and this one seemed just fine.
It's so beautiful...
Focus Holly, we're almost there.
Right right. Sorry.
Shaking her head the meicoomon looked around for a few moments, the location that she was supposed to go was... This way right? She'd follow Iris' paltry directions as he gave them, this place was so big that a first timer would of course get lost and the meicoomon would need a little hand. Eventually she would arrive at the island it spoke of through some hops in transports and it would take her at least two hours to get to the Fall lane that it spoke of. She'd head up to the door and look around.
Do I just knock?
No. They're expecting you. It should be unlocked. Wait in the lobby for someone to 'pick you up'
The meicoomon blinked and did as she was told pushing the door open with a small look of curiosity flicking on her face before entering the building proper. It'd close behind her of it's own accord once she was through and the meicoomon was stuck standing in the lobby. It was much like how you would expect an office front desk... But without the people. She'd hop up on a chair and look around; her ears perking and her eyes sweeping the lobby itself...

Luminas, itself, was a grand and holy city, fitted with splendor and glorious decorations.
The building that Holly found herself at, however, was anything but. Meandering through the back streets, she'd find 3 Fall Lane soon enough, its rustic number hidden deep in the shadows of a purposefully overgrown tree. To the right and the left were nothing but the back doors of some of the lower end apartments - was this really the place? Iris, at least, would not give her any words suggesting that it wasn't. As the Meicoomon pushed the door open, she'd find herself alone, in a dark, dingy, wooden room.
That 'office counter' she spotted, at second glance, was actually an old bar stand with rusted taps. But this letter told her to be here, after all. Surely there was something else to it?
Well. Actually, there was. The door behind her would soon open again, the appearance of a Peckmon curiously looking down to her shadow.
"First time?" The bird tilted his head - then looked over towards the right, towards an unoccupied chair. "Just take a seat, and check under the table."
And if Holly did? Well, after a moment of feeling around, she'd find a small switch...

Holly wasn't really sure what to think of this place, but it certainly both underwhelmed her and made her extremely curious. If they had this sort of location set up like this could she really expect... Well. She could expect them to be laying low in some fashion, with how overgrown things were and how people would question them less and less...
She'd blink a few times and squint at the old bar stand, was this something other than an office once upon a time? Or was she just putting too much thought into this? Or maybe she was-
The meicoomon blinked a few times to see a Peckmon, looking down at.. Her shadow. Which had Iris in it. A single eye opened up and stared back at the Peckmon for a brief moment before fading away. Iris knew enough about all of this to sort of keep his mouth shut, after all it'd probably ruin any surprises they might have if he told her more than she needed to know.
"Yeah... Okay."
The meicoomon followed the birds gaze and sat on the chair that he was staring at. Frowning just a bit she'd do so and reach under the table, checking around for a few moments she'd quirk a brow. One digit of her paw flicked that switch; after all if this was where she was supposed to be well...
Perhaps this upper portion was meant to be cover for a more... serious operation?

Click.
As soon as the Meicoomon pressed that button - one that Holly would find had a surprising amount of weight to it - the table itself would lift upward, standing on its side as if it was bolted to the floor with a hinge. In that same moment, a trap door would open in the wooden floor below, a loud, cavernous echo heard as Holly would fall inside - wait, fall? Well, yes: in that same motion, the base of the chair gave out to a slope.
One moment, she would simply be sitting and pressing a button - but the next, she'd be whipping right down a steep slide, down into the depths of the island! She'd eventually hit the bottom, to a well-cushioned landing...
... And a surprisingly well-lit room. Now this might have been what the Meicoomon expected to see up front, but just how expansive was it? Even in her direct view, she'd see four guild members, each wearing a black armband over their left arm. These four - an Impmon, a Coronamon, a Shurimon, and a Lobomon - all surrounded a table, overlooking a detailed map of some building.
"No, no, see," the Impmon shook his head, "That window won't work as a point of entry, not at that time of year."
"Right, the cross-wind will be noticeable. Tch, why did this one have to be a fan of chimes?" The Coronamon muttered, the Shurimon pondering over that blueprint just a few moments longer. But the Meicoomon wouldn't be ignored for too long, the Lobomon giving a glance over - motioning for the Impmon to talk to her.
"Mm? Oh, right!" The Imp gave a grin, stepping over to that landing, offering a hand to help the cat up. "Welcome back, Iris. And I hope the landing wasn't too bad for ya... ah, 'Holly'." The Impmon gave a chuckle, leading the Meicoomon on in. "Sorry its not a big ol group to meet you. Last minute job came up, so we're pegging through that..."

That button, switch or whatever it was that holly pressed didn't seem terribly important once the table lifted upwards making her lean back only to find the support that her chair provided gone. The chair, trapdoor that led down and table all seemed to operate on the same mechanism. She let out a small surprised sound as she whipped down that steep slide and upon landing would let out a small grunt.
Okay that was a lot more fun than it should of been...
Honestly the meicoomon liked the rush of air over her fur and the exhilaration that it brought for a short time even if it was a surprise. She'd rub at her cheek and slowly stand up, taking in what she could see. A well lit room with... four immediate members. Each of which were from different families and types of digimon. She recognized three of them, if only from pictures and the ninja esq one was one she hadn't seen previously.
They spoke with one another, an impmon first. The Coronamon second, some job or the like that they were going over? The large wolfish like being motioned for the impmon to talk to her. She'd ease herself up with the help of the impmon.
"It's good to be back. A lot more freedom to move around here than there."
The shademon's form became a touch more pronounced but he for the most part was sticking to the Meicoomon's shadow. Whether it was because he felt protective or he was just making sure she didn't do anything stupid was anyone's guess.
"I wasn't really expecting the slide and the landing was fine."
She'd blink a little bit and follow the impmon. She was curious and her eyes, along with her ears were flicking every which way. She was taking in everything that she could and hummed a little bit.
"It's all right, it's probably better this way. A last minute job?"
The meicoomon leaned a little bit, curiosity playing across her features for a brief instant before she bit her lip. She was curious about that but was it really her place to ask questions about something like that? Not like she'd be taken along or anything like that...
"Is it really rough or something?"

So Iris was going to continue to keep an eye on the newbie? It made sense, though the Impmon did raise a slight eyebrow at that motion. Well, it wasn't he'd done this, so the rookie didn't hold onto that point for long.
"Well, usually, we'd be better handled to have someone show you around, but sometimes, it gets like this. And yeah," the Impmon gave a shrug, "last minute job. Somewhat rough, but its more the timing than anything else."
Unsurprisingly, the Impmon was light on the details, simply leading the Shademon and Meicoomon further into the back. "Right now, its just the four of us in right now. Our Head'll be in this weekend and that'll probably be the first time you see him - other than that, it might take you a while to see all of us. Ah, I'm 'Dark'. There, you have 'Flame', 'Star', and 'Wolf', respectively." These were effectively code names: including Iris, not a single one of them had a given name before the guild, so they were kept dreadfully simple.
"Now let's see..." Clicking on a light to the back hall, he gave a nod, moving to list off the rooms, starting with the first door on the left: "Here's our current records of Terminus, Whitewater, and Luminas. City plans, major building structures, upcoming calendar events, star charts, all here. Past that's a planning room, and in the far back, a practice room. And on the right..."
He opened a door, revealing a few hammocks, each with a locked box underneath. "Sleeping quarters. Sometimes our work goes late into the night, or we have to prepare ourselves for a midnight shift. One of the things we'll be doing is making you comfortable being up at any hour of the day... so don't blame Iris too hard if he starts messing with your sleep schedule."

Holly tilted her head slightly and simply gave a nod to what the impmon was saying. Well it's not like they could always have someone to do something like this; if the person who handled training wasn't about it would simply teach holly patience. Which was something that she needed to learn, not extensively but it was certainly something she needed to work on.
"I see."
Her voice was lathered with curiosity but the impmon was very light on the details. It would make sense they wouldn't talk about it with other groups or to a newbie. She had read something about compartmentalization a while back and if that's how they handled things that only made her feel more like she made the right choice.
Holly'd quirk her head and flick her ears. Eyes flicking from each individual as they were spoken of; so they weren't operating with their given names but alternate names that were just extremely simple.
"Everyone's got something to do... Oh? A pleasure to meet you all."
Holly blinked a little bit and gave a small nod to each following after the impmon as he listed off the rooms. So they had all this information regarding every city, events they had, star charts... all sorts of things that they would need for a job. Then there was the planning room, a practice room...
"I'll have to get used to where they all are then..."
She'd lean in to stare at the few hammocks, with locked boxes underneath. The impmon would explain more about the work, so they'd have to prepare themselves for alternate shifts. She'd flick her eyes down at iris who gave a little nod at the sleep scheduale bit.
"I think I'll be okay, I don't really sleep all too much."
"I wish she was kidding to be honest. For a cat she doesn't sleep much at all."
Holly frowned a little bit and took in this information, her eyes still flicking everywhich way. Her ears still straining to hear what they could. She was extremely curious about everything here and it showed. Her analytical tone took over as she started throwing questions out; her iris spun and focused on the impmon after a few long moments.
"A lot of things to internalize and work with... Are the records and all of that open at all times or just job for job? When does training start? What's the head's name? Is there anything I should know before things get started aside from this?"

Well, there was no point dragging down the 'newbie' with details of a mission that was well underway, as it was. As the Meicoomon graced Dark's introductions with a response, she was returned a smile and a wave from Flame, a half-hearted nod from Wolf, and a complete non-response from Star, who was already mumbling something else about their mission plans.
But, that was just how they were, especially when under the stress of a new job. The Impmon returned a nod to her first comment, tilting his head at the second. Huh, even Iris agreed? "... In that case, you'd just be learning our sleep schedule from the ground up. Honestly, I don't know if that would be easier or harder than the normal case... hm." Interesting, the Meicoomon was already drawn to the records?
"They're open at all times, but simply knowing what's in there now may not be too useful. Before a job, we thoroughly check and revise our records as needed. And as with the rest of our coding, our head's name is just 'Boss', to us. As for what you should know..."
The Impmon circled around once, kneeling down towards Iris' shadow. "Well, what do you think? Clearly, she has potential if you've stuck around with her for this long. At this point, you should know what weak spots she needs to shore up better than the rest of us."

It was interesting to holly how she could see their personalities reflected in their simple responses when on the job. Or at least she could see how they were when things were serious in a sense. She couldn't help but wonder how friendly they'd actually be when they were off and not prepping for something serious.
"Only one real way to find out right?"
The meicoomon's ears flicked a little bit when the impmon said that they were open at all times. But knowing everything wasn't going to be helpful as things would change, be revised and move forward on their own. She'd tilt her head slightly as he told her what their head's name was. A simple name such as boss was very forward about what he did.
"Makes sense. Everything is simplified so it doesn't really get in the way... Hmm..."
Her eyes would follow the impmon as he circled around her but kneeling down to that shadow would prompt Iris to open a few more eyes and be a little more active in the conversation.
"If she didn't have the potential I wouldn't of approached her in the first place. She could use additional refinement in both combat and stealth related endevours as well as learning how to swim. Only a few tweaks and she was already doing... surprisingly good work even against a parent. She's already at ultimate level at about a month old, it's more recent so it has less training than the others but so early just means we get to work with it more."
Iris' eyes met holly's and she'd furrow her brow a little bit. Was that what had happened in that training? That she was... eased into such an action against her father? What prompted her to evolve like that to the response of pain? Was it Iris or her own emotions?
You needn't worry about such things Holly. Everything that happened was because of your acceptance of what you wanted to do.
...Gotcha.
Iris let out what seemed to be an earnest sigh and a small shake of that shadow'd head.
"If allowed she'll also push herself quite far, her constant desire for knowledge and distinct lack of the stereotypical Meicoomon or Meicrackmon hunger is something that also can be worked with. The former most needs to be addressed in such a fashion where she limits how far she pushes herself and recognizes when a good time for it is and when a bad time for it is."

Blunt naming aside, Dark was more interested at Holly's potential - potential that Iris summed up quite nicely. "Unrefined talent, then? Honestly, that might serve her for the best - she won't have too many bad fighting habits that we'll need to weed out." Her data structure and fundamentals seemed solid enough, at least. She already had a handle on using MeiCrackmon at a mere month old?
Honestly, the Impmon could only blink in surprise. Of course, she did have her shortcomings - that of a bookworm nerd? "So you say she hits the books too hard, then? Well, knowledge is important, but knowing what to do in practice is much more important. Honestly, its too bad we can't tag her along on this next job..." Unfortunately, even her basics wouldn't be quite up to speed yet.
So, where to go from here? "Let's get to the training room. You've had stealth practice, but there's a few tricks you need to learn from here: balance and silent movement." The Impmon gave a nod, gesturing towards the back room. "Both things, ironically, that the Shademon there never had to practice." He gave a chuckle, and opened the door for the cat to follow. What she would find, of course, was something different than a normal 'power' training room.
For one, most of the floor was cushioned with soft padding - and there was only one beaten up sandbag in sight. The Impmon pointed towards the right - showing a slack line, positioned just above the floor, and a tight-rope next to it.
"We need to be able to use unconventional routes in our work. Whether that's climbing walls or using hooks and rope, we need to be confident in every sort of movement. This one, well... it might take a while to get a handle on."

"Considering her focus into other things yes. Her initial hesitation for striking was weeded out in our week or so together."
Iris shifted slightly and Holly rubbed the back of her head. Why would she have much in the way of bad habits? She only had what? Like two weeks of training? Too short to really get any bad habits against fighting a small number of individuals, if you could really even call what she did fighting.
"More or less. She'll learn what it means for both soon enough."
"Well I did live in a library, so can you really blame me on that one?"
"Taking her along this early would be extremely risky."
The meicoomon herself did enjoy a good book and probably would use that in the future as something to relax to. However the mention of being unable to take her along on this next job? Made her blink a few times and rub at one of her cheeks. She wasn't ready, she didn't really feel ready. She'd probably just get in the way.
"Which would explain why he didn't go over it too much with me... balance and silent movement? Okay."
"It's better that someone that can put it into practice goes over it with you. You might of developed strange habits otherwise."
Holly looked around the training room that they had gone into. There was a lot of soft padding and one beaten up sandbag. Something probably just to get some steam blown off or.. She'd follow where the impmon pointed noting that slack line and the tight rope next to it. The meicoomon would approach the ropes and inspect them, blinking slowly as the impmon explained.
"Movement in various ways... I see. Balance on something that is more rigid and something that isn't. Along with keeping quiet on both? Or something else entirely? Will I be doing this in just rookie?"

"Actually, this is more set up to 'easy' and 'hard'." The Impmon nodded, first towards the slack line, then to the tightrope. "The less rigid rope will work with your movement, the latter wouldn't. And silence is a part of it, but more to the point..."
The Impmon pulled himself up to the starting platform of the tightrope - and, without so much as taking more than a single glance downwards, the Impmon managed to give a fairly swift jog, the line only slightly swaying underneath. There was, of course, no unnecessary noise, but there also wasn't a moment wasted as he crossed over.
As he'd reach the opposite platform, the Impmon would turn and give a nod towards the Meicoomon.
"The concept of it is simple. So long as your center of gravity is exactly over the rope, you won't fall." Executing that, however, would be quite a different challenge. "You'll start this out in rookie. Once you get a good handle on it, it shouldn't be hard for your 'taller' forms. If anything, your increased arm length will make the task easier. Oh, and don't expect Iris to be of too much help for you, at least in practice."

"No middle ground huh? Hmm?"
Holly watched the impmon quietly as he brought up his next point. Or at least showed what his next point was. She'd watch him curiously as he went over that tight rope without much of an issue, a slight sway and he didn't even question what he was running on. She could barely hear him if she strained and there wasn't any waste in his movements. He had done this quite often both in practice and in actual missions more likely than not.
"Easier said than done for most..."
The meicoomon furrowed her brow a little bit, she was curious of course how she would likely fare. Was she going to have an easy time with this? She doubted it. She was smart yes, but her body as a whole even throughout most of her lines were just balls of instincts. She couldn't rely on that to do what she needed to. She'd dip her head in a nod as Iris slipped out of her shadow, making himself more 'visible' like how they first met.
"I wasn't planning on it. But all right, it'll take a while to get this down I think."
"So she says.."
Holly shifted a little bit and moved over to the starting point of the platform for the tight rope. She'd climb up on it and stretch; she wanted to see how she was starting out. She'd slowly exhale, trying to find her center for a moment before getting started. She was rather shaky on it, slow going even. But she made decent progress almost making it halfway before falling off of the tight rope with a curious sound.
"Hmm. I can see how the arm length would make the difference, not really much to work with in this one but that'll be part of the challenge eh..."
If let holly would of course try again... and again... and again. Each time she'd get a little further, a little smoother. While she wasn't exactly the most silent in the practice she was making good headway for just seeing a single example. Tutting to herself after her last 'failure' she'd examine the rope again testing it's 'rigid' nature with a paw. She'd put her other paw to her mouth thoughtfully, taking in the line for a few moments before trotting over to the start again.
"So something like... This huh?"
She moved along the line somewhat carefully, keeping her feet in some manner that would help her keep that 'balance' in the center. She wasn't anywhere near as fast as the impmon but after only a few tries she was able to get from one end to the other.
"...Dark it occurs to me. We're talking about balance and a cat. This sort of thing is second nature to them."

Well, this was set to be his afternoon. He was more-or-less an advisor to the three up front for their job, so Dark able to keep a careful eye on the Meicoomon's movements.
They were inefficient, they were unpracticed... but there was a definite sense about her, that Holly knew what she was doing. Heck, managing to make it more than a few steps on her first try was impressive enough, and of course, she would be allowed to practice as much as she wanted, the Impmon soon taking a seat on a nearby bench. Further and further, faster and faster... it would be after Holly took a moment to think, before she'd be able to make her first crossing.
"Mm, something like that." The Impmon gave a nod: "But a rope like that should take you only five or ten seconds to cross, not the good minute that took you." Still, his tone suggested that he was impressed at her progress.
At Iris' words, though, the Impmon almost parsed a response - before something 'clicked' in his head. A cat?
"Holly? Try going on all fours."

Holly hummed a little bit and stared at the rope, she'd flick her ear and turn to look at the impmon when he told her that it should only take a few seconds for her to cross. She'd have to work on the speed that she went over these, but it'd be difficult for her to do so in a short time without making some large errors.
"So I need to work on the time it takes me then..."
The meicoomon turned to look at the rope, mulling over how she could cross the rope a little quicker. Though at being addressed again she'd turn and tilt her head. He wanted her to go on all fours? Blinking owlishly she'd go back to the start; she'd examine the rope again mull over how to do this for a few moments before getting down on all fours.
Unlike before she had next to no trouble and was able to move quickly across the rope. While there were a few times where she'd sort of stutter; near the start and end she was able to complete the practice much faster on them.
"My balance is a little easier to control like that but it feels weird... Haven't tried it like that before."
"Try not thinking about it and just doing it this time."
Holly furrowed her brow and went back to the starting point again, rather than inspect the rope like she tended to do she'd just get right to it... and not have the same issues as she previously did. Though at the end when she had to right herself she'd shake her head.
"So my body knows what it's doing but I don't... Interesting."
