OOC: Alrighty, this is the opening post of the Neo-DATS plot. To participate, please pay attention to posts in this thread, the Tamernet, and Discord. As it develops, I will post further information threads. But for now, the only Neo-DATS thing happening at the moment is this thread. Also, I mean this thread to be the finale of the Control Spire plot. Following this, assuming it gets resolved completely, no further Control Spires will appear.
Furthermore, there are conditions for participating in this thread and the battle.
- The Control Spire means that all normal evolutions above Rookie or Sprite Hybrid Spirit will fail. - Armor Champion, Human Spirit Fragment, or X2 Xros evolution is the minimum level required for participating in this thread. - Maximum level reachable is Armor Ultimate, Beast Spirit Fragment, or Incomplete X3 Xros evolution. - Tamers, Spirit Users, Xros Generals and Solo digimon are able to participate.
To join this thread, please post in the plot thread here. I'll select 4 characters from those that do so. If you aren't chosen, you will have first dibs at replacing someone in this thread if they drop out or removed, or future plot threads.
For the past year, activity between Earth and the Digital World had seemed to expand greatly. The fact that the original organization on Earth meant to defend against such operations - DATS, the Digimon Accident Tactics Squad had been dissolved due to the disappearance of its leaders had indeed been a thing of concern for many people and digimon interested in the defense of Earth. But for now, their role was replaced by a new organization, at least on paper. The new group - AEGIS, the Artificial Extradimensional Guarding and Investigation Squad. A pretentious name perhaps, but, its strength was without doubt. Its members included many powerful human tamers and an Xros General. Such a force, on paper, would be more than enough to overwhelm any hostile digimon intent on causing trouble on Earth. On this day, however, they would be proven wrong. It was a cold, frosty night of the new year here in the Shibuya Ward of Tokyo in Japan. The skies above were black with stars, fireworks of the new year still launching from the ground and exploding in beautiful bursts. The leader of AEGIS, Sophie James, was watching them from the window of the headquarters of their organization, admiring the opening moments of the new year - 2019. She reminisced on what this year would mean. She would turn 20, her younger brother Colin would turn 16, it would mark the 5th year since she and her family had moved to Japan. And, frankly, she could see nothing that could ruin this for them. Until the event happened. It began with flashing warning screens from several computers. As the night staff quickly attempted to figure out what they meant, there was an almighty light radiating from the windows. Sophie rushed to them, her partner Lantis the Leomon at her side. They looked down onto the street that separated them from the Shibuya Train Station. And to their horror, there they saw them. "T-that's digimon down there" Lantis remarked. "...Perfect Level. And... oh my god, what are they doing?!"The digimon in question seemed to be no taller than humans, but, their power was unquestionable. They stood in the middle of the road. One looked more fearsome than the other, holding what appeared to be a staff. Innocent humans watched him wearily, but when he aimed his staff into the corner of the overhanging roof of Shibuya Station and fired a golden blast of energy, causing an immense explosion, only then did the crowd disperse. It was here that Sophie's fears were confirmed. This was an incursion. A big one. She and her partner had to intervene. But, before they did so, as all the civilian humans fled the scene in terror, something further happened. The two digimon... they opened their hands, some kind of energy pointing to the ground, on the intersection outside of Shibuya Station. And as they did so, something began to glow on the ground. As Sophie and Lantis watched, something immense shot from the ground, towering at least 100 feet into the sky. It was a black obelisk, glowing with blue digital code. It ended with a point, and when it stopped growing, a curtain of darkness pulsed out from its peak. "A-aaargh!" Lantis cried in agony, the Leomon falling to his knees, struggling to fend off the effect it had on him. Sophie looked on in horror, then saw as Lantis shrunk from his Champion Leomon form down to his Rookie Spadamon form. "Lan..." she uttered. "This... this means..." she looked at the edifice outside. This... was a Control Spire. Here on Earth. To her further horror, every electronic device within the AEGIS headquarters shut down catastrophically. Computers burst with sparks, monitors turned black with no means of recovery, and all lights failed apart from the few emergency bulbs. All means of acting on this disaster seemed to be lost. Except... Sophie reached for the D-Terminal she wore on her person. She pulled it out... yes, the Tamernet was still accessible. Perhaps... this was the only means she had to communicate with others that can help. Immediately, she felt ashamed that she and Lantis had no capability of reacting to this. Sophie had collected no digimentals so far, so Lantis was sealed at his Rookie level. But... it was her only hope that others had, and could respond to this. Sophie then made her emergency communication to the Tamernet. Help was needed, immediately. Only those with digimentals could possibly help here. And even then, with the methodical actions of the digimon down there on the street, she figured out that they had been planning this for some time.

What a way to start off the new year. First it was finally stopping RedMagnamon in his tracks with Leith and Rebecca, then it was escaping to the Digital World for a bit to recover, to finally meeting up with Kazuya, Royland and Julian and having Shoutmon rediscover himself again. Now they had more danger to deal with now that they came back home.
"Huh, something on Tamernet..." Adrian says as he opened up his D-Terminal. After reading the post, his eyes widened. "A control spire?! IN SHIBUYA?!"
"No... no, that can't be right," Shoutmon says, hardly believing it himself. "Who's the post by?"
"Sophie James of AEGIS..."
"...crap. What should we do?"
"It's obvious, isn't it? We use Tylomon to help AEGIS out in any way they can. We just... casually not mention the fact that you were a murderous monster for a night, okay? Let's do this... Digi-Armor Energize!"
After armor digivolving Shoutmon to Tylomon, Adrian hopped onto the Digimon's back as they headed for Shibuya Station. They didn't know what they were expecting when they showed up, but it was clear what it was: a giant control spire, plopped right in the middle of Shibuya. And to both of their surprise, two human-like figures were in the process of activating it. Since they were alone at the moment, Tylomon kept his distance, floating in the night sky while the Tamer-Digimon duo just observed.
"I can't tell what kind of Digimon they are... if we aren't careful they could one-shot us. Let's wait for more backup, Tylomon."
"Ugh, no more OmniShoutmon for me, I guess. Do you think anyone's even going to show up besides us?"
"It was an urgent message from AEGIS. People are going to come... hopefully."

Post by Alan Pantell on Jan 2, 2019 6:23:16 GMT
"So, Alan... are you sure you're not gonna participate in any festivities?"
"Ehh… I have no idea where to start. I'll have to ask someone about this next time. I'd much prefer to just sit here and enjoy the atmosphere with you, and not worry about what we should be doing."
Alan, an eighteen-year-old American boy, was sitting on a bench, 3DS in hand. Looking over his shoulder was Levi, who appeared to be a boy of about the same age. The two endured a moment of silence together.
"I can feel you smirking, Levi."
"Weeeell, have you considered starting with looking at the fireworks the fireworks that are blasting in our ears?"
"Hrmm… could you... not lean on me so much when you're in a holosuit, Levi?"
"Worried we look like a couple?"
"Worried I look like an inattentive boyfriend."
"Didn't you say you've beaten this game before?"
"Yes, but that version wasn't Ultra. I feel like I must have explained this to you before."
"You're so tense in the human world, Alan..."
"It's more like I'm loose in the digital world."
"Hey, Alan... why are we arguing?"
"I... don't remember."
"But sweetie!"
"Levi, I will stab you with this digimental." Alan quickly raised his left wrist, which sported what appeared to be a wristband, colored in a glistening mix of blue, gold, red, and orange. However, a small hooked blade protruded from one side, which was currently wrapped in a black cloth. He couldn't have any human authorities seeing him wearing something that looked so much like a weapon. Levi laughed at Alan's jocular threat.
"Alright, I'm in a good mood now," said Alan. "Give me a few minutes and we'll go do something. Kukui won't kick his own ass."
Just then, the city went dark, and the 3DS along with it. Alan blinked a few times, and sighed before closing the console. "Congratulations, you shirtless bastard, you've proven me wrong. Levi, hand me the case for this thing."
"On it," responded Levi, digging into the infinite box, and pulling out a black case with a zipper, and another handheld device, this one grey and bulky, opening it to check his messages as he handed the case to Alan.
Levi squinted at the screen of the D-Terminal. "Uhhh… Alan, we should really learn to check this thing more often. Here, you should see this."
"Huh...?" Alan began to repeat some of what he was reading in mumbles. "Who... what's AEGIS...? The train... station... Control... oh, isn't that what Hikaru... 2 high level digimon…"
"If they're 'high level,' I don't see what we can do about that..."
"Hold on... Armor Champion." The human boy looked at the covered wrist-blade again, then looked back at Levi.
"You shall have need of it soon." they simultaneously quoted.
"Well, I don't know what we can do..."
"But if the honorable Sophie James of AEGIS believes we can do something... we might as well see what it is, huh?" Both of them nodded. "Yeah!"
"Hey, Levi, is it bad that we're kinda excited about this?"
"That sounds like something we should worry about later."
"Agreed. Let's get going."
Alan slowly began to remove the cloth from the blade of the Digimental of Integrity as the tamer and partner ran side-by-side. He wasn't sure whether the blade needed to be uncovered, he merely assumed that it would work something like that.
"Do you remember the way to the train station, Alan?" Levi huffed, before finally taking notice of the gigantic dark tower. "Never mind, it doesn't matter."
At the end of their short trip, the two were peeking at the base of the tower in the distance from behind a somewhat-nearby car, far enough to reasonably be out of range for the two guardians to care that they were there. "Well, we're here," Alan began. "What... exactly are the next steps? Turn off the holosuit?"
"Not worried about people-"
"Nope. We're in the middle of a power outage, and plus, what idiot could deny this gigantic tower appearing from nowhere?"
"Good point," said Levi, turning back into the appearance of a Veemon. "Now what? Is there a safe way to go about this?"
Alan scratched his chin. "That, Detective... was the right question."

Post by Tadayoshi Teppei and Silence on Jan 2, 2019 14:43:20 GMT
A helicopter zoomed over both Tamer-digimon pairs, or so it probably appeared from the ground. In truth this was a digimon far above their heads, but that was probably very hard to spot for those without a digimon's sixth sense, though nothing disguised their signature from other digimon. This one was probably particularly strong because not only was the helicopter ferrying a human in its cabin, but it was also carrying two more digimon: a Renamon and a Commandramon. A 16-year-old Japanese boy with short, buzz-cut brown hair and pajamas asked of the Commandramon, "Sitrep?" after a big, wide yawn. Even though Commandramon's legs up to the knees were dangling over the chopper''s edge, he showed no fear as he used a scope like binoculars to peer down at the ground. On command, he reported calmly, "Eyes on two perfect level digimon setting up the spire. Two humans and two digimon are on the scene, suspect armor evolutions by their forms. The tower isn't fully online yet, but you remember Sophie's message."
"Unfortunately, I do." The Xros General was a little bitter about being woken up just after he'd gone to bed for this action. He supposed an AEGIS asset had to be on-call, but it was a holiday! Even worse, this was no stray Labramon. This was an invasion. That made Tadayoshi feel personally, physically punched in the gut. "Top... this isn't supposed to happen." Sophie managed to brief Tadayoshi on the phone everything she knew about the spires, so the Helomon transporting everybody knew not to hover too low and risk forced defusion.
"You saved my home. We will defend yours." The reason Commandramon was so insistent was because he was glaring at the Renamon, who was nonverbal thus far but obviously even grumpier about being dragged into this mess. "What are your orders?"
"I'm rescinding stealth protocol, and I'm sure miss Sophie will agree. It's a little late for that. Collateral protocol is still in effect, and that means..." Tadayoshi bit his lip. "I don't want humans close to the site."
"Coward!" Renamon spat. Tadayoshi ignored her. He still knew that despite all her protests, she was under his command, and now she knew it. "Helomon! After we drop Renamon and Commandramon, I want you to make an announcement: use your loudspeaker to ask those Tamers to meet us on the ground somewhere out of de-evolution range. You're going to pick up any other humans who show up to fight and keep them in visual range but out of attack range." Knowing that the dominant in that fusion was Hagurumon, Yoshi suspected the order to stay out of the way would be gladly received. "Commandramon, Renamon, you are inserting. We saw that Indaramon data could help you two achieve an incomplete Xros, and miss Sophie claimed that shouldn't be affected. When you get down there, rendezvous with Sophie and any other friendly digimon. I don't want you rushing in alone. Unfortunately, I think we need outside help again."
"It's funny you mention that," Commandramon chuckled a little, "One of the humans down there is that Adrian boy."
"No kidding?"
"How will we insert?"
"I think there's only one fast way. You need to jump." Tadayoshi paused, expecting objections. There weren't any, but he nevertheless explained, "We've trained this insertion already, and we have it down. Right?"
"I trust you, General." Renamon stood silently, but she did not object. "My mark, then. Helomon, hover still! Commandramon, Renamon, stand by to jump and fuse." Both of the skydiving digimon stood by one edge of the open cabin and awaited their signal. Notably, neither of them had parachutes, but they were both nonetheless prepared to dive anyway. "Three- two- one- mark!" Both the dragon and vixen intentionally fell backwards out of the chopper, at which point Tadayoshi knew he had to act fast. "Digi-Xros!" In the air, the shining forms of the two soldier digimon united with a third light, a yellow beam that came from Commandramon's body but yet was not him. "Digi-Xros!" Repeated the voices of Commandramon, Renamon, and a third digimon no one can see but Silence all knew to be an Indaramon. The digimon fused in mid-air to become the ultimate light-assault unit. This digimon did not have trouble thanks both to size and sturdy makeup surviving one heck of a fall to end up on the rooftop of AEGIS HQ. "General, Assaultmon is on the ground and standing by." Tadayoshi couldn't hear his voice directly from so far above, but he could hear it through his digivice using a comm link. He answered, "I'll contact Sophie and Lantis and ask them not to blast the digimon that just landed on their roof. I'll stay in communication as best I can from here. Helomon and I are going to start evaccing Tamers now. Out." To Helomon, he then addressed, "Do it." All humans in the vicinity could probably hear Helomon's call from high in the sky. "Attention all humans with digimon! This is Helomon, and I'm with AEGIS! I'm landing in Hachiko Square! Any humans coming to help should meet us there! I'll pick you up and keep you in sight but far away from danger. Repeat, all humans, after helping digimon evolve, go to Hachiko Square!" Helomon headed off in that direction, then. Maybe it was a bit of a walk, but a big chopper was trying to find a ground-level LZ in a crowded part of town. There weren't a lot of choices. Any humans who wanted a lift would find Helomon on the ground there waiting to pick them up and Tadayoshi to greet them and help them settle in, rotors still spinning. In-flight, Yoshi used his D-Terminal to open up a line of communication with Sophie and send her a message through Tamernet, updating her on the situation.

Post by Alice Alexandria on Jan 2, 2019 19:22:08 GMT
The message arrives on Alice’s Digivice with an unpleasant beep, a groggy groan coming from her as she tries to read the message amid the chaos of a new years’ party, something she was invited to by one of her more... Normal friends. Loud music thumps through her head, and the emerald haired woman grabs her glass and downs the last of her drink, a faint chuckle coming from her at first... Before the implications of what's going on hit her. A spire has landed in the Human World. Evidence that perhaps the barrier between the two worlds has become dangerously thin. Standing up, Alice decides to head there as fast as possible, horrific thoughts running through her head. If unchecked, this could very well be the end of the world, she thinks to herself. The worst case scenario... Thankfully, obtaining a Digimental for Dorothy was something she did recently, and what better time to try it out? She shakes her head as she leaves the party, coming up with a suitable excuse to leave and heading there as soon as possible. Arriving with some degree of tiredness in her eyes is Alice, seemingly alone at first, the look in her eyes both of fear and downright anger as she enters the terminal. "Dorothy... Take a look at this. Now.” The sight of one of those strange towers, the ones she’s only seen once, in the Human World brings a shiver down her spine, that stoic, usually rational facade of hers cracking as she glares at what seems like thin air for a moment, the exhausted Tamer’s gaze soon meeting her partner as she slowly turns visible again. “...Ya know, I think we’re lucky I decided to spend the day like this... Ya know, so I could keep watch of ya without bein’ seen.” Dorothy sighs, giving a sarcastic look at her own Tamer with her free hand on her hip, the Digimon's form a short, blue humanoid in a frilly dress and a ridiculous looking, brightly colored lizard puppet on the other hand. “But yeah, this... This ain’t good.”
“Of course it isn’t!” Alice snaps back at her own partner, not wanting to waste any more time as she takes a few steps back, so as to not get in the way, and she takes out her Digivice, already sorting through the clutter of her bag for cards just in case. “I expected this to be a good research opportunity, but... I guess this is more urgent than that. It doesn’t matter what’s over there, get ready to fight...”Dorothy makes a snarky remark at her own Tamer, laughing to herself a bit. “Gyahaha... You were gettin’ pretty wild at that party earlier until the alert came. Almost looked like ya wanted to stay there just to sulk.” “...That’s not important.” It's now that she hears the call of a helicopter from above for Tamers to head into one place to avoid danger, the helicopter undoubtedly a Digimon as well, alongside the existence of a much more heavily armed Digimon entering the scene. "This is... I'll be there at the square. I'm... Kind of sick of being up close and personal to these fights. Too many of my own scrapes from them, you know that." "Yeah, yeah. Just get somewhere safe, I'm sure we can handle things on our own for once." The short, blue humanoid Digimon waves her puppet covered arm a bit as if to tell Alice off. "Just be safe, alright? I'll be right here, waitin'." "...I could say the same for you. Be safe." Alice doesn't hide the fact that she doesn't want Dorothy to get hurt very well, an obviously stone faced attempt to conceal her emotions on her face as she turns around before heading to the square. "Stay hidden until I'm back, all right?"

Post by Sakurin on Jan 2, 2019 19:25:02 GMT
New Year's Day. 2019 had dawned. It was a mere 2 hours into the new year. Yukiko just returned from a party, having been dragged out to a party by her significantly more outgoing partner. She was in a bad mood. She had expected alcohol to flow, and had expected things to get out of order. But then this one guy just -had- to get up into her personal space, and refused to take no for an answer. Hopefully, he'll have learned his lesson once he was released from the hospital. Mizu, her partner, stumbled through the door, cheerfully singing an old 80s Evergreen, drunk off her fins.
"Huhuhuhuuuuu~ "Relax, don't do it, if you wanna go do iiiiit~"" "Could you not sing that dreadful song? My ears are still ringing." "Aw, come on, Yuki-chan, if you ignore the lil' perv it had been an amazing evening, eh?~" "No."
Mizu stuck out her tongue and blew a raspberry while Yukiko checked her phone. She had one from Ayumi, of all people. Why would Ayumi write her, when she's knee deep in the big and expensive party of her socialite family? "Check Tamer Net. I cannot leave. Something bad happened." Yukiko raised an eyebrow, but opened Tamernet regardless. ... AEGIS? A Control Spire in Shibuya? Electronics disturbance? ... Yukiko rose as Mizu was laying face first on the bed. She looked up when Yukiko began rummaging through her closet. "Whhhhaddya doin, Yukichan? Its bedtime..." "Some Digimon assholes have invaded Shibuya. They're wreaking havok in my city." Mizu's eyes widened. She recognised this expression. The last time she had seen it on Yuki's face, she had cut open her own hand to bring her back from death's door, and then personally led her to destroy a Leviamon. This would be a long night.
Thousands of people ran far away from Shibuya Station. Only one ran towards it. Determination on her face, with an unbreaking stride, Yukiko made her way through the crowd, with the still inebriated Mizu trailing behind. "Oh ffffuck, my head...how much further?" "At this pace, we should be at the station within fifteen minutes." Yukiko kept running. Slowing down meant losing valuable time to try and remove these interlopers from Shibuya Station. She was not opposed to Digimon coming to the Human World, but she did draw the line at destruction and terrorizing the populace. And those that decide to be dangers, she'll strike down herself if she has to.
As she drew closer, she heard a voice coming from the helicopter Digimon. She did not know who it belonged. Mizu only heard the name AEGIS, which brought back "fond" memories of a certain someone, judging from the way her expression turned sour. "Oh no, not that fuckface..." Holding up her Digivice, Yukiko channeled the power of the Digimental she had found in the desert. Mizu, dropping her Hologuise, began to glow, and digivolved from a frog to...another frog, a yellow one with helicopter blades on its back. Frogmon, her Armor Champion form, would be ideal at getting closer. "I cannot stand back and leave you in the line of fire, I am coming with you." The Digivolution had cleared Mizu's mind somewhat, allowing her to see how utterly bloody -stupid- that idea was. "H-h-h-hell no! You're staying at Hachicko Square, with the bastard! It's safer there!" Yukiko shook her head. "I am coming with you. That's final." The determination on her face was definite. Mizu sighed. "Yuki...I am sorry."
As the humans gathered in Hachiko Square, they would find Yukiko Armstrong, pinned to the side of the dog statue by two leaf shuriken through her jacket. Crossing her arms, her face bore an expression of pure, cold fury.

Post by Kazuya and Royland on Jan 3, 2019 22:47:08 GMT
(Moments before the black out)
Kazuya Oda just got back from a party in the digital world and returned to his home with both a Spadamon and Patamon with him, Roy was wearing his Holo-suit and the patamon hid in the back pack. But once they were at his house both digimon roamed around freely, the Spadamon headed to the gaming console and started to play a video game called Dark Souls as the Patamon just watched and cheered Royland on, the two continued to have some fun leaving Kazuya to do what he wanted to do without interruption.
The black haired man was in his room, sitting at his desk with his Personal computer on. The golden eyed man was documenting all of the information he had acquired on a certain group of digimon, he wanted to organize this information in order to pin them down as quickly as possible Kazuya knew how bad it would be if that group were left alone for any longer than they already have been. But suddenly out of nowhere all of the power died, this confused the golden eyed man as he was justifiably alarmed. Royland however...
"God damn it! I was so close to beating Gwyn, the final boss was this close to dying. I had him, you saw it right Julian ?" The spadamon said as he slowly dropped his controller in disappointment. The patamon then patted Royland on the back in order to comfort him, because he needed right now.
"There there master, you were amazing. You got the parry timing down so this is not your fault, when the power gets back you will get a second chance to get him." The patamon said as he supported a carefree smile, he wanted to help Roy feel better about this salt inducing event.
Kazuya however immediately went to his digivices and checked it in order to see if this is a coincidence or not, and to his horror he found out that it was not a coincidence. As a person called Sophie James sent out a message warning everyone about what happened, Kazuya remembered the name as he remembers meeting Colin James. There is no way the man can sit idly by as he ran outside of his room taking his green coat and wearing it without wasting a second. "Roy, Julian hurry up and follow me there is an emergency. There is no time to sit and explain, I will fill you in along the way. So hurry!" Kazuya said as everyone followed him, they group wasted no time trying to reach the station that was not too far off from the house. A long the way Kazuya explained the situation to both Roy and Julian, and after a seirous long debate and countless warnings from Roy and Kazuya, Julian finally decided to not fight this time, as he was still inexperienced and does not possess the strength to fight on equal footing with Roy just yet. The group then heard an announcement from what Roy and Kazuya recognized as Hagurumon's voice so they headed there to see him.
When they reached their the group found a girl pinned to the side of the dog statue, judging by her expression of anger instead of fear all the others had Kazuya knew she might have something to do with digimon. "Royland armor evolve to IceGrapleomon" Kazuya said as he took his digivolve his partner who went from the tiny but dependable Spadamon to a more ferocious looking lion man.
images2.imgbox.com/a6/9c/OL8H7LAn_o.png
"Don't worry about a thing I am a good guy, but young girl you do not seem afraid, do you know whats going on ? Anyways let us get you out of this binding shall we ?" Royland said as he easily ripped apart the things that bonded Yukiko, he then supported her if she needed and placed her down on the ground. But before he could say anything else to her Kazuya interrupted."There is no time to sit and talk here let us go to that helicopter and we can talk for as long as we want in there, for now let us hurry." Kazuya said as he urged everyone to hurry up and follow him.
Once there the group could see two digimon in the distance, he could not see them well enough. But Kazuya and Royland so a bunch of digimon they did not know, after looking around Kazuya saw the helicopter. "There it is, Julian and you follow me, Roy you stay down here and see if you can defuse the situation. And just in case any new information is given to either one of us we can communicate with each other got it ?" Kazuya said as he began to head towards the helicopter in order to get in, however while Julian did follow him he was a bit ashamed at himself for not being able to help Royland in battle.
After Roy was separated from Kazuya and Julian he saw a digimon he did not recognize he decided to walk up to with caution, just in case something is up. "Hello there, My names is Royland. I come in peace, would you give me the pleasure by introducing yourself and stating your intentions." The grapleomon said as his rough and deep voice pierced through the chaotic streets.
Once in the helicopter after helping Yukiko get in, if she wanted help in the first place, Kazuya saw two people he immediately recognized, Tadayoshi and Alice, this was reassuring for the man as he knows that at least Alice has more expereince than him. "Hello there, Yoshi and Alice. Its been a while, but we all know there is no time for idle chit chat. Now what I want to know is aside from the message we probably all got, what else happened ? Who is responsible for this mess ?" Kazuya got straight to the point, the patamon next to him however was silent as he looked a little sad, but Kazuya was too busy to pay attention.

Sophie desperately tried to get into contact with the other agents. Colin... oh no! She just realized! He had gone on a search and rescue mission on the digital world for Marshal and Coronamon. He wasn't going to come. But other agents? Johan, Satoshi... wait, could they even assist? Sophie had never asked them if they had digimentals. If they came they might be as vulnerable as Lantis. Meanwhile, the Spadamon had his eyes fixed on the road outside. The two digimon were... oddly sentient for control spire guardians. From what Colin and his partners had told them when they dealt with the Cipher Jungle tower, they acted as though they were almost mechanical. But these two... the white robed one seemed to be touching the tower as though they were using a control panel. While the other stood watch, pacing around the street carefully, ready to aim their staff weapon at threats, at least that's how Lantis saw it. And... they seemed to be talking to each other. That didn't make sense, the Kabuterimon and Kuwagamon defending the other tower didn't talk according to Colin. They looked up at Assaultmon, but didn't aim to attack him, only giving a wary look at him every so often. "They're acting... normal" Lantis remarked to himself. "I... don't think these ones have dark rings, at least the ones that we know about..."Meanwhile, he noticed something else. There were still people there, hiding. Some took refuge in the station, others were hiding behind cars. This could get dangerous if they remained there when the fighting started... the fighting! Lantis anxiously looked up at the skies. Would the Japanese Self-Defense Force intervene here? Well... it wasn't like they were about to make strike missile attacks into the middle of Tokyo, at least not right away. "Sophie, should we go down and check?" he asked her. "We'll have to wait for the others to arrive" Sophie replied. "I can't make that risk of it just being you and me that confront these two, even with Assaultmon. They could eliminate us in an instant". Lantis understood this. "For now, they're gathering up in Hachiko Square, the Tamers staying behind. After that, the digimon should be here soon".And for now, Sophie, Lantis and the rest of the AEGIS night staff were in lockdown. Since to the digimon on the street below, they were simply little humans and digimon in a building, they weren't yet noticed. Sophie wanted to take out her digivice and scan these digimon for information, but, that might blow their cover, and she didn't want another golden beam blasting through the window. "Lan, do you know those digimon?" she asked. "Just their species, Sanzomon and Gokuwmon" Lantis replied. "I don't know much about their abilities, and the computers are down so we can't check"."Right" Sophie answered, all they knew so far was Gokuwmon's golden beam attack. What it did other than blast things, they didn't know. All they could do was wait for reinforcements, then they could act.
Then, they were approached by what appeared to be a white GrapLeomon. Sophie and Lantis watched him with anxiety, what was he doing alone here? The digimon at the control spire watched him warily as well, but did not attack.
However, once he was within speaking distance, the Gokuwmon slammed his staff on the ground in an act of aggression. "Proceed no further" he warned. Sanzomon turned back to the tower and continued her work on it... whatever it was.
The lion digimon was polite at least, stating he came in peace and asked who they were and what their intentions were. "Our names are not yours to know" he said in a deep voice. "And our intentions are to mend the rift between Earth and our world once and for all".
That was all he said on the matter. "If you wish to keep your life, turn around and leave at once". If anything, this proved that these digimon seemed to be acting of their own volition somehow, without being under the control of dark rings.
Current Objective: Arrive at the scene.
Next Objective: Get all bystanders to take cover in the subway of Shibuya Train station.

After a bit more observing, Adrian finally got a good look at the two Digimon who were setting up the tower. One looked like a goddess-queen and the other looked like a... ninja-monkey? Sadly he was too far away to properly scan the two Digimon. "One thing's for sure: they look intimidating. We're gonna need help."
And help is what they got! They all seemingly came one by one: firstly, Tylomon saw two beings hide right behind a car, so they were either helpers or humans who just wanted to record this flashy event like a lot of humans like to do these days.
And then a helicopter showed up, scaring both Adrian and Tylomon. "Holy crap! You still holding on up there, Adrian?!"
"Yeah... yeah, I'm fine! Who is that, anyways? The government?" Right after Adrian said that, a Commandramon and a Renamon jumped out of the helicopter, immediately fusing into another Digimon entirely: Assaultmon. "I... I think that's Tadayoshi! You know, that Xros General with the Commandramon!"
"Oh YEAH! Now I remember!" Tylomon cheered. "I wonder if anyone else we know will show up!" A few moments after he said that, the helicopter - yes, the helicopter itself - made an announcement that all humans involved with Digimon should head over to Hachiko Square and hop on so that they'd be out of the line of fire. "Come on, I'll give you a ride over to Hachiko."
"Thanks... think you'll handle this without me right by your side?"
"I'm not THAT dependent on you... even if you control my digivolutions and use cards to power me up." Adrian laughed as Tylomon set him down onto the ground, flying right back into the action. Adrian hopped onto the Helomon with the other Tamers, and he recognized about ninety-five percent of the Tamers on board. Among them were Tadayoshi, Alan, Alice and Kazuya along with Julian. However, there was one girl who Adrian did not initially recognize.
"Uh... hey guys... I guess you saw the Tamernet post too, huh?"
At first, Tylomon was thinking of just interrogating these two Digimon and see what their deal even was. But before he could do that, a Digimon seeming to be the same Royland that he and Adrian had met before stepped up. He tried being chivalrous, asking these two Digimon what their intent was. And of course, yadayadayada, evil cliche bad guy things that sound cryptic just because they can.
"Bad guys these days, always trying to be more cliche than the other..." Tylomon sighed. "Just once, I wanna fight a villain who's first words AREN'T a straight-up threat. Either way, that tower's coming down. We cool?"
If they weren't, they would be soon...

Alan listened in shock as his question was answered by a voice from overhead. "S-separate? I guess... now that I think about it... there really is no benefit to me staying down here with you while this is going on... but... I..."
"No," said Levi, "please get to safety. But wait! Digivolving!" The Veemon pointed at Alan's wrist.
"Right, uh..." Alan held the hand with the digimental up. "Di... di... d... hmmm..."
I know exactly what to say. Why am I tongue-tied?
At that moment, Levi jumped up and grasped Alan's hand. Some semblance of confidence returned to the tamer's eyes as he took a deep breath. "Digi-armor ener… gize." The ensuing burst of flame felt more like warmth than actual fire. Before he knew it, his hands were on Flamedramon's gauntlets. The Flamedramon looked at the digimon guarding the control spire. "I still don't know what I'm supposed to do about this!"
"Okay, how about this: I go get to the helicopter, and I'll tell you whatever they tell me over intercom. Just... stay put for the moment, okay, Levi?"
"Got it. Now, I think you need to get going."
Alan made his way over to Hachiko Square. It wasn't too long of a distance to move, but the presence of the spire made him incredibly nervous the whole time he was travelling. Once he arrived he saw the Helomon on the ground, picking up a whole group of other people. Worried that they might, no, expecting the Helomon to start leaving without him, he broke into a sprint once he was closer to Hachiko, so that he could board safely and catch his breath. "H...hello... I'm..." he swallowed. "...Alan. I... don't know what AEGIS is, but I figure now's not the time to- Kazuya?"
"Royland?" Alan could hear Levi's voice in his ear. "Some big lion-like digimon walked right up and said his name was Royland, at least, I think that's what I heard..."
"Levi... that might actually be Royland."

Alan's expectations were not met. To Tadayoshi's immense relief, every single Tamer had decided to do the safe thing and stay out of the brawlers' way. One by one, Tadayoshi gave the arrivals a hand up into the helicopter followed by help strapping them into seats of the open cabin. In fact, he recognized almost all of these faces, save Dorothy's and Alan's, but this wasn't exactly the time for catching up.
After Alan got a helping hand and was strapped in, Tadayoshi pat the outside of the hull with his hand twice, clang clang, which Helomon knew was a nonverbal signal to start ascending. Tadayoshi had to hold on tight, then, because he had given away all six of the available seats that faced forward and backward to Dorothy, Kazuya, Julian, Yukiko, Adrian, and Alan. That meant he was stuck hanging onto a handle that dangled from above, which wasn't exactly perfect safety but did keep him stable and inside the cabin as Helomon began to ascend over the Shibuya skyline.
Finally, Tadayoshi began to speak. "Listen up! My name is Tadayoshi Teppei, and I'm an asset of AEGIS! You're currently riding on Helomon, a fusion of three digimon into one capable of antonymous flight and decision-making carrying a payload of missiles, flares, and various support abilities. Unfortunately, once that spire's shield is up, we'll be out of range and unable to use any of them. Right now Helomon is taking us all back to the site but will keep out of range of its effects while still in sight of your digimon! I couldn't ask you to abandon them, after all. This is purely for your safety. Anyone with digimon-human comm links should utilize them to their fullest!" The 16-year-old held himself proudly and confidently as he stood over the others, but he had to speak up very loudly to be heard over the very loud vehicle.
"Adrian, I'm honored to fight with you again. I'm not the scared kid you met anymore. Kazuya, I'm sorry for failing you in the wedding op, but Silence's numbers and strength has grown exponentially since we last met. Yukiko, if your Betamon friend still wants the chance to prove herself to us, it looks like this is her chance. The rest of you I don't know, but while our home is being invaded by dangerous digimon, I consider you comrades anyway."
The next person Yoshi spoke to was Assaultmon, through his digivice. "Assaultmon, Helomon's loaded and right above you. Good hunting." That was hardly necessary; by this passengers in the helicopter could see all their digimon for themselves out of the open cabin, though strong wind no doubt blew in their eyes and faces. "We'll be you guys' eyes in the sky. Tamers, we need to know each other's capabilities here. I want all card users to raise their hands and be prepared to help the digimon below. This is your fight, too!"
Assaultmon stood tensely till, both guns locking and loading, barrels spinning to stay ready to shoot on the drop of a bit. He watched Tylomon and Royland walk right up to the enemies and engage them in talk. He watched carefully, unable to make much of a move with so many humans still standing around. "General, collateral risk is too high. We need these humans gone!" he hissed.
"I'll work on it. Miss Sophie!" At this point Tadayoshi was trying his digi-FM radio to speak directly to his superior. "I've got Helomon loaded up with Tamers, but there are more humans frozen in place than there is room in my cabin. Assaultmon can't make a move for risk of hurting them." Just then he got an idea. "Hang on, I believe if I use both these functions at once... there. Tell me if you can hear Assaultmon, Sophie. Go, Top."
"If the humans are in the air, the responsibility of these civilians falls on digimon. There has to be something we can do." Since the digivice was playing both voices out loud, the rest of the passengers could probably hear the entire conversation as well as Sophie's part if she responded. To the other digimon, then, he tried to urge them, "Hold your fire, team! Do not attack unless attacked!" Especially while looking at the Tylomon trying to start trouble.
"No matter what, people, stay calm, stay smart, and pass on to your partners that property damage may be forgivable, but human collateral is not!"

Post by Alice Alexandria on Jan 9, 2019 16:03:46 GMT
The wind rushes through Alice's long green hair as she's on the helicopter Digimon, something she finds annoying but ultimately less of a nuisance than having to keep herself in the way of the chaos. Being talked to like this by someone so young is both amusing and surprising to her, and for his speech, she remains silent until the mention of cards, where she raises her hand, but not before slipping her notebook carefully into her bag. She'd rather not drop it. "...When my partner is in Armor Champion, her abilities focus around stealth and disruption. I'm sure those could come in useful." As much as she wants to ask questions right now, she knows this isn't the time. For now, she just wishes she had something to tie her hair back for once.
"...As for the cards I have, I primarily have powerful offense ones. They could compensate for my partner's lack of strength or be used to rush down the Spire if possible... As for the enemies... I didn't get that good of a look at them, but I know they're strong. Never thought it would come to this." Her expression soon turns sour as she hears about the innocent lives still down there. "You're right. We should focus on getting them out of there before anyone starts fighting. I know all too well how fragile a human being is in comparison to a Digimon..." With that said, she sorts through her cards carefully, searching for whatever would provide the best advantage. "Either way, I'll follow whatever plans you've got laid out... And I guess I should introduce myself. I'm Alice."
It's then that she finally realized that Kazuya is on the helicopter as well, and she smiles faintly. "Good to see you again... If only it were peaceful." A chuckle comes from the green haired woman, perhaps trying to lighten the mood somewhat. "I'd ask about what you've been up to, but it's not the time."
Meanwhile on the ground, Dorothy almost loses her composure at the words the two hostile Digimon state. It isn't exactly a nonsensical goal, given how there are undoubtedly Tamers with far less pleasant ideas and the continual bleed through between the worlds, but it isn't something she wants to hear, the cloaked, currently invisible Digimon gritting her teeth. As soon as a fight breaks out, her safety will fade, being unable to keep herself unseen for long in such stress.
And for the first time, she's genuinely scared of what might happen in this fight as opposed to excited about it, her unseen mouth curling into a frown. The tension is obvious, this standoff understandably going to last only a moment until someone makes the first move. And as much as Dorothy wants to prove these two undeniably strong Digimon wrong... She isn't willing to fight. Not yet. Something about it feels deeply uncomfortable.

Yukiko said nothing as Royland pulled her down, only nodding and uttering a terse "Thank you." once she was back down. Yet before she could say something else, her "savior" was pulled away. That made sense. This was a very tense situation. It would seem she was to board the helicopter after all. She'd rather be with Mizu, but it would seem her partner insisted on keeping her safe.
Once they were up in the air, Yukiko stood by the nearest window, looking out for Mizu. By running off, she had inadvertently worried her immensely. She only looked away when Tadayoshi spoke to her. Ah, it seems he remembered Mizu not really enjoying the man's behaviour. She just nodded. "She will. This is not the kind of situation she takes lightly." She then looked back out. She was still seething, much more serious than Tadayoshi remembered her being back in the shopping mall. Seems that the fires of crisis temper even the softest metal.
As for Mizu herself, the Frogmon had hovered as close to the spire as she could, making sure to avoid detection from any guardians. She sought allied Digimon, feeling that she would be better off she could cooperate with someone. And lo and behold, she found a familiar face in Dorothy. How she could immediately tell it was Dorothy despite the Armor form was a trade secret. Unfortunately, she also found the two guardians. It would appear they had a plan. And that plan was to "mend the rift" between the Human and the Digital world. That sounded *crazy*! And even worse, there were still *people* around. Mizu was actually quite nervous and worried. Oh, if only she hadn't made Yuki stay behind. For now, all she dared to do was to sit on a car, hoping an allied Digimon would notice her. She may or may not be out of her depth here.

Kazuya Oda returned Alice's smile with a smile of his own and a quick nod, it was true that meeting Alice in such a chaotic time is a little disappointing, if only he could have met her in a more peaceful, he might have asked her out for drinks. But alas that is not their situation. "True its a shame but I guess life is unpredictable that way. But we could have that talk over some drinks on a later date ?" The man made a comment before turning towards Yoshi who tried to explain the whole situation, it was a bit too much information but Kazuya got everything, good thing he is a bit familiar with AEGIS thanks to his brief meeting with Colin James the younger brother of Sophie James the leader of the group. Kazuya was however impressed by how much Yoshi has grown since their last meeting, it is quite shocking.
"I see I look forward to seeing how much you guys have grown and I seem to understand whats going on, those two digimon are setting up a spire that is causing all non digimon technology to shut down ? Their motives are a bit unclear to us, but Roy might get an answer. For now our priority should be to utilize our numbers, I say Roy keeps an eye on the two digimon and someone else join him while the others try and escort the civilians out of there. The reason why Roy and one other digimon should stay near the spire is too keep an eye on those two digimon that represent a danger to the world, and oh yeah the comms I have tho- Alan ? Adrian ? What are you two doing here, its dangerous. We need to hurry up and get out of here, if a fight does break out things will get ugly. Oh where are Levi and Shoutmon ?" Kazuya said, things where a bit hectic but the man managed to wrap his head around what is going on.
Back to Roy, the grapleomon was disappointed when the Gokuwmon refused his offer to talk and say his name, it wasn't the act of chivalry he had hoped. "I can't do that, you are taking this on your own hands, the rift between mankind and digimonkind is not a mistake that should be fixed by the likes of you. Now if you want to talk things out I will be glad to, but if you are not going to back down I have no other option other than to fight you." The lion man took a fighting pose as the turbines in his hand began to spin faster than normal, but a moment later a new digimon entered the fray a Tylonmon, this made Roy a bit confused the only thing he was sure about that he seemed to be an ally to him. "Hey you there, are you an ally ?" Before Roy could get an answer he received a call from Kazuya who informed him that there are several tamers that they know here in the area, which only means that their digimon are here as well. "Kazuya please inform the others, tell them to help get the civilians to safety as fast as possible. Things might get rough from here, and......tell Levi is to stay out of harm's way okay ? I think there is no time to waste, we need to hurry up."
Kazuya relayed the thing Roy told him to the rest of the group, Kazuya then turned to Yoshi in order to see what is the plan now. "So what does AEGIS plan to do now, where is Sophie ?" Kazuya asked as he crossed his arms, Kazuya decided to follow AEGIS's directions for now.

While this was happening, Sophie made a quick communication with Enkidu, their digimon agent currently stationed in the digital world. He told them that there was nothing of note to report in Terminus City, that no further enemy digimon seemed to be coming through to Earth. Sophie thanked him and told him to keep a further eye out. That Sanzomon and Gokuwmon may have reinforcements if they were outnumbered was a prospect that worried her even more. "Sophie, more digimon are arriving now, they seem to be allies" Lantis said. Sophie acknowledged him. "Alright, let's go" Sophie replied. "Best activate your holosuit, Lan, just in case. We're going to help clear the field of bystanders. All staff! Keep on lockdown. Let me know if the situation changes". That was realistically all that they could do here. Lantis thus transformed his appearance from a Spadamon to a tough looking large human and followed his partner down the stairs to the street level. Gokuwmon first narrowed his eyes with seething fury at the smart-mouthed Tylomon. However, Sanzomon turned her head. "Ignore the fool, Gokuwmon. We have no time to deal with his nonsense" she said. However, she gave a lingering look of malice at the red fish digimon before turning back to her work, as though promising that if it came to combat, he'd regret those words. If one noticed, she was doing most of the key entries with her right hand, while her left was firmly pressed to the tower as though she was preparing for something. However, neither of them were yet provoked to attack. As Sophie and Lantis emerged from the hidden entrance to AEGIS HQ, Sophie heard Tadayoshi speaking again. "Alright, good, the digimons' partners are best kept out of range. Lantis and I will help with getting everyone out of the way".
She looked up at Assaultmon on the roof as Tadayoshi made some adjustments, then listened to hear Assaultmon's voice in her digivice too. "Confirmed, I hear him" she answered.
With that, Sophie made what was possibly one of the most dangerous moves of her life. However, she had noted that the digimon had not attacked either, and they were capable of direct speech. She hesitated, but Lantis patted her shoulder. And so, Sophie attempted to speak to the two Ultimate levels 50 meters away. "Excuse me... you two... digimon!" she called. Gokuwmon turned but Sanzomon did not. "These bystanders have no part in this. Will you allow them to evacuate?"Gokuwmon looked carefully at her and saw through Lantis's holosuit, but, recognized him as simply a rookie level. He gave a dismissive shrug. "If you wish. It makes no difference to us".Relief pulsed through Sophie at that. These two digimon might be up to something bad, but it seemed they did not intend to harm the innocent. With that, Lantis cupped his hands to his mouth and called to the two dozen or so people still close to the battlefield. "Everyone! It's safe. You're free to go! They won't attack you! Go as far away from this place as you can or stay underground in the train station!"
Hesitantly, the bystanders slowly raised their heads from their hiding places - behind cars, trees and other objects, watching Sanzomon and Gokuwmon all the while. They saw Sophie and Lantis's uniforms as well, and, trusting their authority, was enough for them to move away from the vicinity of the control spire, the men, women and children all making panicked whimpers as they fled, with one man with an afro, moustache, pink shirt and tan trousers yelling "Nooo!"As this was happening, Gokuwmon resumed talking to the GrapLeomon digimon. He scoffed at his words, but readied his staff in a battle stance in response to Royland's turbines speeding up. "And what would you know of the rift between digimonkind and mankind? Were you there when the humans attempted to invade Luminas in a battle that killed hundreds? Are you not aware of the fact that since humans have arrived in the digital world, there has been unprecedented misery and suffering among digimon? Countless lives corrupted and ravaged by this... red essence. Things that are not meant to be disturbed... awakened by meddlesome interfering humans and their enabling "partners", the results killing innocent digimon by the thousands, some of them forever. We mean to put an end to this!"All the while, Sanzomon was continuing her work on the side of the black obelisk, its pulsating blue light flowing upwards to its point in steady waves.
Objective Complete: Arrived at the battle scene. Objective Complete: As nobody has attacked yet, the immediate vicinity was able to be cleared of bystanders.
