Post by Rei Oto on Dec 25, 2019 23:47:20 GMT
Miracle on Musimon:Rei Oto's holiday was not a pleasant one. It was around that time when their father died, leaving the family in a broken state. The last Christmas wasn't a cause to celebrate much, especially with her mother and brother's fighting. Rei couldn't do much due to her age and lack of influence on anything in her life. That year wasn't about to change had things been the same. When Rei told her Digimon Partner how things were and how it did make her sad, she was about to allow things to roll as they did. Enjoy the season, watch others from afar and try to enjoy some peace with the days off. Still, the sadness couldn't be hidden behind Rei's eyes to not celebrate a holiday about family, friends and love for the winter season. But Musimon had other ideas as he couldn't contain the mischevious smirk on his face when Rei wasn't looking. Using Tamer Net, he reached out and planned a special event. It took some doing but cunning Musimon while Rei wasn't looking made his own party-- something he wanted to do very often. He sent messages to the Digital World back to his home of Rosewood town, planning to teach the Digimon there how to party and have a good time. Christmas was the best excuse. During Christmas Day, while Rei was alone-- Musimon bursted in saying that there was an emergency in the Digital World. All too ready to go, Rei opened a gate and traveled to the Digital World. It took a bit of running, while Musimon led the way, getting a little ahead of her to spring his surprise. When she finally caught up, entering the gate of the village, she skid to a stop at the shock she got. "MERRY CHRISTMAS!!" Many Digimon cried at the site of her, Musimon among them as his own music began to play. Musimon played the music like a soundtrack as he hopped over to Rei and took her hand with his large hand-ears. " M-Musimon, what is this?" she asked. All the small huts were decorated with garland and ornaments, fresh snow piled into creative shapes and lights sparkling from nearby trees. A massive feat was in front of them on several tables, some Digimon already helping themselves as an Impmon ate and so did a Gomamon munching on the shrimp platter . " I wanted to throw you a party. No one should feel alone on Christmas. I know things are hard at home, so I thought we celebrate here-- and a lot of us wanted to help out. So I made a party, and a lot of Digimon pitched in to celebrate. They love Christmas just as much as humans would, yo!" the rabbit said happily. "That's right Rei," An Agumon they knew said. "We wanted to celebrate this fun holiday and spend time with everyone, so when Musimon told us how they did it in the Real World, we thought we should throw a party!" he said and waddled forward, handing a present wrapped in red to Rei. "Merry Christmas!" Rei was speechless. It had been such a long time she had been around a party for Christmas or among those she knew. All the other Digimon were happy, cheering as the music played, Musimon's tune already spurring on the holiday spirit. A sniff came from Rei as tears softly fell from her eyes. She couldn't hold it back as she suddenly cried, covering her mouth with her sleeve. Alarm came to Musimon's face as did some Digimon, who were confused by Rei's sudden reaction. " Rei? Rei-chan, please don't cry!" Musimon urged. Agumon too looked worried as he looked to his present. "Did I do something wrong? I didn't even eat the gift inside." "You doofus," A Byomon chirped as she flew down next to them. "Girls like us are sensitive. She could cry if she wants to." Musimon still was uneased as he looked up to his partner, his heart a little worried that he might of only upsetted his best friend and partner. " Rei-chan... I'm sorry... I only wanted to do something nice for you this Christmas. Please don't be sad or mad at me." he asked. Rei fought to hold back her tears, but she couldn't as she wipped her eyes. " I... I can't stop. I'm sorry... " she spoke softly, lifting her her head enough to show her smile. " This is wonderful. I'm so happy, really! Thank you. Thank you everyone!" she said aloud, but still happy tears fell from her eyes. She was so touched by their care and friendship, she couldn't stop crying from how happy she was. "HOHOHO!" a loud voice bellowed. Suddenly a 'tree' seemed to move, but it turned out to be a large Cherrymon! However, this one was all decked out with ornaments and magical lights from his bows. To add to it all, he wore a snowy white beard from face, making him a mix of a Christmas Tree and a Santa Clause. Most would of been scared, but Rei laughed in amusement at the hilarious Santa Clause. "MErry Christmas little ones! Ho ho ho!" That evening, though only moments passed in the real world, Rei celebrated Christmas with her other family in the Digital World with her parnter. The Digimon of Rosewood were kind and sweet, and gotten to know them all with her time in the Digital World. And thanks to Musimon, the real gift of the season, she was able to have some joy though her family was not in a celebrating mood. WC: 940

Post by Zachary "Zaber" Scryer on Dec 26, 2019 5:20:27 GMT
Long, Overdue Visit
Zachary still abroad in Tokyo, had longed to see his parents again. Much had happened since his time in Tokyo to attend school. He had a place all to himself but he was alone. It made hiding Panthermon and any other Digimon he had to hide easy by comparison or freedom to go where he pleased, but he had few people to depend on while his folks were away.
But that holiday, Zachary learned his folks were coming to visit. To spend time with his parents, the people that loved him and cared for him. They were the people that made him the person he was today, and what he constantly worked for to be like. Respectable and loving adults. For his parnter, Panthermon, it was a confusing time.
One, his parents knew nothing about Digimon. So naturally, the Panther Digimon needed to stay hidden. But he was curious. The cat wanted to know more about his partner's parents, since he was born from their son's thoughts. In a sense, they were a part of his origin as well.
His parents arrival made him work hard to clean up his apartment and prepare things. Many times, Zachary insisted on his partner to be sure to make himself scarce. Panthermon hung out a bit but agreed he wouldn't be seen. As Zachary decorated his home for the upcoming Christmas Eve and following days, the cat continued to observe as he set up the tree, the decorations, even put on 'Christmas music' on the stereo.
On the 24th, they arrived, to which Zachary greeted with a warm and opened hug. His mother was a similarly looking woman akin to Zachary with the same dark hair but smoother and longer. His father was a ruggedly tall man with a beard and dark hair as well with glasses. Both were kind and insightful of Zachary's desire to see them. ALl the while, Panthermon promised to stay out of sight but didn't say anything about spying on them. He stayed invisible using his power, staying out of the way from where they moved and often hid behind furniture or under tables to not be noticed. At times he would sneak back into Zachary's room when he needed to rest but for the most part, he enjoyed seeing Zachary interact with his parents.
Most of the time they talked about the different places they went, the different museums they visited and historical sites. Some Zachary had to been to, others he would want to go. Zachary shared his own life and school work with them-- but kept the parts about the Digital World a secret.
At least, until Christmas came. Panthermon was under the table, snacking one some of the food that Zachary prepared him. Things would of been fine... till his father accidentally stepped on Panthermon's tail while he was invisible. The cat let out a loud cry, startling the family.
The cat was out of the bag at that point. In the end, Zachary had no choice... and he revealed Panthermon to his parents. The Digimon and the creature he had dreamed up. After a long, long talk that Christmas day, while unsure how to interpret it, his parents accepted the large cat as a friend.
Of course... Zachary left out the dangerous things that he and Panthermon did. That would happen around Easter if they choose to visit.
END.

Post by Kenny O'Hara and Skadi on Dec 26, 2019 6:57:10 GMT
Had it really almost been a full year since Kenny and Skadi became partners? Even this young man couldn't believe it himself. Throughout the entirety of 2019 they managed to explore great lands all over the two worlds, save the day on more than one occasion (the big hullabaloo in Golden Week quickly came to mind), and, most importantly, they actually managed to join KIZNA, one of, if not the, biggest organisations in the Digital World.
And all because Kenny just so happened to encounter Skadi on his very first day in Japan.
How fitting, then, the dynamic duo were spending their Christmas Eve in the city of Ys, or as they basically called it now, home. And frankly, the place felt bigger and brighter than ever. Plenty of lights and decorations lined the streets around them, several Rookie-level Digimon were running around, playing in the snow with their friends, and several higher level Digimon could be seen going about their lives, doing some last minute preparations for the holidays. No danger, no worries, nothing. It all felt so good.
Bundled up in their warm clothes, including their very own personal scarves courtesy of Persephone, Kenny gave a content sigh, "Man, I can't believe it's been almost a year since I moved here and met you, Skadi. I mean, when I moved to Japan, I didn't expect, well... all of this, honestly. My mind's still trying to comprehend everything so far, if I'm being honest with you."
As usual, Skadi giggled at her tamer-come-best friend's words, before lightly patting his leg affectionately. "It's OK, Kenny. If anything, I've been really proud of the both of us. I don't think we'd be here today if we never met on that faithful day."
"Yeah, I guess you do have a point there." Kenny smiled, "When I first moved here, I was nothing more than a wimp with severe self-anxiety issues who spent a lot of his time hating himself, but now? Well, I'm still quite a bit of a wimp, yes, but I've become much more confident and accepting of myself, if not entirely happy. But hey, I'm still making progress." He just shrugged. "Plus, thanks to Ryouta and Valt, I've gotten a good amount of meat on my bones now."
The mention of Valt, however, made something click inside of the Valaismon's mind, before she tugged on Kenny's pant leg, quickly grabbing the young man's attention as he stopped in place, and turned his head to her, "Hey Kenny?"
"Yeah?"
"Maybe we could hang out with them for a little bit? I already got senpai a really good gift at the ready. Plus, we might even have a friendly spar once more to help warm us up in this freezing cold, too." She winked to Kenny playfully. For a moment, Kenny paused for a little bit, thinking for a moment before giving his answer, bending his knees to get to his partner's level.
"Okay, yeah, why not?" He chuckled a little, "But please, at least take the time beforehand to discuss any bets with me before you spontaneously and inevitably drag me into them? I like my clothes in good condition, thank you very much!" As soon as he finished, he gave his little girl an affectionate hair ruffling, as per usual. Didn't stop the giggles though.
With that, the two set off once more, Kenny typing onto his D-Nexus on Tamernet to contact Ryouta to meet up with him and Valt once more. If anything, it would be a good way to spend Christmas with the same duo who actually managed to put them into KIZNA in the first place. And Lord knowing, neither he nor Skadi could thank them enough for pretty much everything that happened this year.

Post by Mikazuki Nakamura on Dec 26, 2019 16:14:22 GMT
Ah, Christmas, that time where the worldly trifles are put aside and goodwill is the law of the season, even for those who follow Japanese customs.
The many employees of the Nakamura household certainly were fully immersed in the spirit of Christmas as they worked hard and diligently to decorate the many rooms and hallways of the enormous state with the finest decorations money could afford. Not that it mattered to one Mikazuki Nakamura and his ever-zealot yet faithful companion Lopmon, who were currently occupying themselves with the upper decorations with their superior height (At least in his Andiramon form).
Not that they couldn't have done it ages ago, but before the party itself, Mika had a yearly tradition of pulling it all on the very last day. Such a demand was almost unreasonable to the staff most of the time, but ever since the boy giant's thirteenth birthday, he had proven to be more than able to help them out. It was one of his many whims, after all. And gods forbid that any of the staff disobeyed the most essential directive their employers had given them.
NEVER upset Mikazuki.
"Mikazuki, pass the wreaths and the holly if you would be so kind," Andiramon ordered as he extended one of his abnormally large hands for the blonde giant of a teenager to bring him the ornaments, which were promptly handled to him with the usual bright smile. "Here you go, Lop-Chan!" Mika answered, delivering the goods just as a call for help suddenly pulled his attention to the lounge while the deva placed them on the stairways with meticulous care that his size would not suggest.
Yet amidst the hurried people and weird sense of cheer engulfing the house, the doors burst open to reveal a pair of people in business suits barely noticed anything, fully absorbed in their smartphones, barking orders, trying to appease clients, amongst other things that Soichiro and Kaede Nakamura were having to solve in the very eve of the holiday.
Lopmon noticed Mika sigh sadly, but shaking his head with a smile and continue with the preparations, noting that the duo couldn't even look to the decor. By their path, Andiramon could easily deduce that they were heading to the master bedroom too.
"Does it ever bother you, Mikazuki?" The bunny called the boy's attention to the fact, right as he finished suspending more balls and lights on the stairways. "You mean mom and dad?" He asked, asking for a moment of reprieve to the bunny and plopping on the couch, which Andiramon followed. The boy chuckled right as his parents slammed the door of the room shut. "Working always leaves them like this in December," Mika explained. "And when I was thirteen, the two almost forgot about Christmas entirely. Because of me, the staff was panicking in the day." he motioned to the eldest of the butlers, who was coordinating the whole thing. "I remember Masaru almost had a heart attack during the day."
And then his smile brightened and a determined glee filled the boy-giant's countenance and he stood up. "But we pulled through! I helped them all and we rushed to finish everything by night time! Mom and dad started crying in happiness after that."
The bunny looked at the staff with awe and surprise. "Since then, we've always done this and every year, it worked just the same! It's why I insist on doing it like this! I wanna surprise mom and dad every year and let them rest while we deal with the nitty-gritty!"
"You really are a bit of a masochist, aren't you Mika?" Lopmon chuckled and shook his head while his partner was already rushing to help the rest.
"Never mind, he's just too kind for his own good." And with a shake of the head, he devolved into Turuiemon and rushed to help the humans with his own part.

Post by Elliot and Isaac Sunderland on Dec 27, 2019 4:34:33 GMT
As The Dust Settles:It was a cold night on December the 23rd, and all was quiet in Dr. Mikemon's office. Yet nowhere was it quieter than the critical containment room, where the hardest of the hard cases could settle in for their much-needed Christmas rest. It wasn't the ideal place to spend a holiday, but frankly? When the alternative was braving the cold, alone and untreated, a hospital bed sounded amazing by comparison.
This was where two brothers, separated by fate and reunited through sheer power of will, found themselves sharing a room for the first time in ages.
The human of the duo, Elliot, laid unconscious in a small cot. Smears of dirt and deep bruises blended into splotches all across his face. If the shallow cut across his cheek was any indication, dried blood would have also been part of that mix moments ago. His clothes were a wreck, the bottom half of his shirt completely singed away as if by some sort of flame. His torso was still red and raw, the remnants of a burn faintly visible. His sweatpants, too, were torn and tattered, though not nearly to the same extent. Only the rise and fall of his chest showed that he was still alive. While it may have been shallow, at least it was steady.
His brother, still confined to his Digimon state, wasn't faring much better. The Impmon's normally purple skin was stained in magenta splotches, and the fever running through his body was so intense that his pale white face was flushed. Droplets of pink sweat rolled down his body, occasionally hitting the tattered remains of his gloves and bandanna with a sizzle. Even the face-shaped pattern on his chest had lost its impish smile, instead frowning as a thermometer jutted out of its mouth. Unlike Elliot, Isaac hadn't gotten the royal treatment rolled out for him. Instead, he had been corralled into, of all things, a small cat carrier.
A few months ago, Isaac would've bemoaned this treatment. Heck, he would have already been planning a means of escape. Yet after everything that had transpired, how could he? Instead he adjusted himself inside of his carrier, shifting until he could recline against one of the walls. Whenever he finally settled on a position, he promptly groaned and shifted towards another one. No matter how hard he tried, he just couldn't get comfortable. But did he even deserve to be?
His eyes, too, failed to find a place to rest. Whenever his gaze wandered over to Elliot, he cringed away in shame. Whenever it strayed for too long, he looked back out of guilt. At this point, he just wished Mikemon would come in with the lecture and get it all over with already. That'd be small potatoes compared to the storm gathering in his mind. He drummed on the bars of his cat carrier in a feeble attempt at distracting himself from them, his claws making arrhythmic "tink" sounds with each drum.
So focused was Isaac on this, he failed to even hear the laughter from the other bed at first.
He pushed against the wall of the cat carrier, nudging into it a few times to turn it towards Elliot's bed. Sure enough, the pile of blankets wrapped around him started to gently shake. While he still stared straight up at the ceiling, it was clear that Elliot was starting to stir now. So many emotions bubbled under the surface of the laugh. Warm notes of joy were dragged down by the slight rasp of fatigue. An occasional sorrowful shudder gave way to the uplifted tones of relief. There sheer intensity of the laugh even gave a few notes of mania. Isaac listened, his long ears perking up to capture the sound in full, before he finally dared interrupt.
"Elliot?" he asked, voice soft. Was it from tenderness, or was that just all the energy Isaac had to speak with? "The h- What are you doing?"
Elliot rolled over, turning to him. His eyes still weren't fully opened, drooping slightly from fatigue. Yet the tears streaking down his face caught in the light, making the trails they traced down his cheeks all too noticeable. "Isn't it funny?" he asked. He smiled with his mouth, but it didn't quite reach his eyes. "All that time. All that stress. Everything. But-" He stopped himself short, body shaking from a sudden coughing fit. As soon as Isaac heard it he pressed himself against the bars of the car carrier, as if trying to get through and stop it somehow. Yet as he did so, Elliot raised a single finger to stop him.
"After all that, you're gonna be home for the holidays." This time, Elliot's smile was all too genuine.
Isaac tried to respond. He opened and closed his mouth several times, as if he had forgotten the very concept of words. Sometimes he pressed up against the bars of the carrier. At other times he backed away, trying to wedge himself into the smallest corner of it. Yet, through it all, he met his brother's gaze, finding it impossible to tear himself away from it. As he looked, tears started to pool at the corner of his eyes. For once, Isaac didn't even try to fight them.
"Yeah," he finally said. He let a small smile spread across his face. By now, it was the first one he could even remember. "Yeah, I guess I am."

Merry Freaking Christmas
The holidays are a joyful time for many. Many, but not all. Problems do not take the holidays off. And right now, the biggest problem in front of Dante is going to his uncle's for Christmas. Dante and Wormmon are on their way, the former wearing a red jacket and green beanie, and Wormmon wearing a red and white scarf with a Santa hat. They arrive outside a large mansion outside Shibuya.
"Whoah! Your family must be rich." "We are rich, and you've been here before. Uncle Brian is a retired prize fighter." They walk up to the front door and are greeted by a taller man with greying brown hair, wearing a red and green Christmas sweater that is three sizes too small. "Dante! Merry Christmas. How have you been?" "Merry Christmas, Uncle Brian. Just glad to be out of college for a few weeks." Brian gives Wormmon a curious look. "That's right, you're the bug thing your cousin was telling me about."
"Heya, Uncle Brian! I remember you now. Look at his large breasts!" Dante facepalms. "Those are called pecs on a man, Wormmon." "Why don't you have big muscles like that, Dante?" "You should be hitting the gym more! I always was more strict about fitness than your father. Come on inside." Dante and Wormmon follow Brian inside. There, his cousin Roxanne is standing next to the counter, holding a baby. She is wearing a red dress with a white sash. Standing next to her is a man with slicked back hair wearing a dark red shirt and white pants.
"Roxanne! Whatcha got there? Is that a Digimon?" "Hey, Merry Christmas, you two. This is my baby, Ares." "A baby what?" "A baby Human." "Humans have babies too? When did he hatch?" "It doesn't work the same with Humans, little buddy." "Wormmon, I'd like you to meet my husband Dennis." The man walks over to Dante and Wormmon, shaking Dante's hand. "Good to see you again, Dante. So, this is a Digimon? How are you, Wormmon?" "I'm hungry. Wow, this guy looks richer and stronger than you too, Dante." "Wormmon, you're embarrassing me."
There's a knock on the door. Roxanne hands the baby to her father and answers the door. "Look at this little guy. Named after the God of War. He's gonna be a fighter, just like his mama and grand papa! Look at those eyes! He's got the killer instinct." "That baby can fight? He doesn't look all that tough to me." Roxanne opens the door and Dante's sister Judith is standing outside. She is wearing a white and gold dress with a fancy white jacket and gold sunglasses.
"Merry Christmas, cousin! How's the baby?" "He's doing fine. Brian wants him to start exercising already." "Nothing serious, maybe some free weights. Work that core." "Dad! He's six months old." "Lifelong fitness, baby girl." Roxanne goes over to her bag and takes out a big gold belt. "Here is my title, MMA Women's Featherweight Champion!" "That is awesome! My latest single just reached 3rd on the charts." "Nice!" Brian hands Dennis the baby.
"Yep, my baby girl is a big strong mama now." "Taking a year off was difficult, but I'm back on top now. Those skanks can't hang with me!" Brian picks up Roxanne and lifts her over his head. "Ahh! Dad, put me down!" "Come on, you can do better than that." Roxanne knees Brian on the forehead and he sets her back down. "I wanna play!" "The food is almost ready. Go ahead and start dishing up." Everyone stands around waiting to fill up their plates. Dante loads up a plate for Wormmon stacked with chicken wings. They sit down at the dinner table and take turns making Dante feel inferior.
"How is work going, Dennis?" "Great. My software company just launched a new line of products for the holidays. We are predicting to be 37% up this quarter." "Soft wear? I though all clothes were soft." "Dennis is a computer wizard, Wormmon." "Ooooohhh. Is he an evil perverted nerd then?" "No, not every computer wiz is like Shirou. Hey, I just had a concert in the Tokyo Dome. It was a sellout!" "What about you, Dante? What are you up to these days?" "Uuuuuuuhhh, classes, playing video games. Car troubles. I'm replaying Nerds of the Old Xbox again."
Uncle Brian takes a big sip of coffee from a mug that says 'World's Toughest Grandpa'. "When are you going to do something with your life, pal? When is the last time you fought in a tournament?" "He's been slacking on his martial arts training, Uncle. Clearly, Dante is preoccupied with video games." "That's enough! I didn't come here to feel bad about myself. You don't know the year I've had. Not everyone can be a wannabe J-pop idol, or start their own billion dollar software empire, or be a champion at beating up half naked women." "I like that third option!" "Dante! You're going to make Ares cry."
Dennis gives Dante a serious look. He slowly takes a sip of wine. "I get it. We shouldn't pile on the poor kid. Maybe he doesn't have as much talent as the rest of the family." "You wanna know what my life has been like? I can't finish college because I'm too busy saving the world from horrifying monsters. Tell him, Judith." "What? Sorry, I was texting my manager. They are bumping up the release date of my next CD. This is garbage! That's not enough time to record an album."
"Dante, if you're going to whine, get out of my house! At least one of your father's kids made something of themselves." "You think you're tough, big man? My father kicked your ass plenty of times." Dante and Brian get up from the table and stare each other down. "Daddy, let's not fight right now. Look, Ares is crying!" "It's so loud! Somebody shut that baby up." Uncle Brian looks over at Ares. Dante picks up a bowl of some kind of tangy salad and smashes it into Brian's face. "Aaaahhh, what the hell?!" "Daddy!" "Oh dear. Can't say I didn't enjoy that." "Dante! You stupid idiot!" "Ah haaa haha haa!"
Dante grabs Wormmon and bolts for the door. He opens the door and Piddomon is standing there with a group of carolers. "Hey, Dante! I'm here for my cameo." "Not now, angel boy." Wormmon shoots a ball of webbing at Piddomon's face. The clumsy angel stumbles back and falls off the patio, landing in the snow and wallowing in pain. "Heh, snow angel." Roxanne comes storming out, chasing after Dante. "Come here, cuz! I've kicked your butt on Christmas before and I'll do it again!" "Later, big butt! Ah haha haaa!" "Big butt?! Honey, you said my ass didn't look fat in this dress." "Honest, it looks like you dropped all the baby weight! Your butt is just the right size." "Ya. I totally can't even tell that you pushed a baby out." ''Shut up, skinny. You need some meat on your bones."
Dante continues fleeing from his crazy, likely 'roided up family. "Don't worry, Dante. Maybe by next year, you will have something to show off like the girls and your uncle, and that guy with a stick up his butt." "Maybe. Merry Christmas, little buddy." __________________

A Small, Captured Moment
Sitting on the roof of where they live, two occupants of a cramped, slightly dingy apartment seem lost in thought. "It's been a while since we did this." One, dressed in red with a scarf and other winter wear, states as she gazes out into the night, the artificial light from buildings blotting out the stars, thankful that nobody below notices her or the somewhat less appropriately dressed individual beside her, a long broom behind both of them. "It used to be warmer back then." Alice doesn't have her notebook with her. Instead, she has a box in her hands, small, but enough to contain almost anything. "I feel so lost... Like my pursuit of knowledge has went so many ways and yet... There's been no answers. Only more questions..."The other person, a blonde with an impractical red dress, is thinking as well, a somewhat strange witch hat in one of her hands. "It's the holidays, relax for once! Shame I don't have anything to, uhh..." Dorothy stops, the witch not speaking until Alice asks up. "Don't have a present for me? No need... I'm used to not getting anything." Alice shakes her head and responds in a way only someone telling the truth would. "I'd like you to have this, though. As a sort of "thank you" for everything. Even after all the trouble you've caused." She hands Dorothy the small gift box, and chuckles to herself and watches her friend and Digimon partner look at the present in a confused, almost puzzled manner. "It's not much. But it's better than nothing to express my gratitude. You're where my entire research of the whole other world began, so if anyone deserves something from me, it's you."As Dorothy unwraps the present, she's almost frantic, still expecting something amazing, but all that she finds is a strange, boxy device that she's seen, but never actually been very close to before. A (somewhat old and outdated) camera, something the witch Digimon was frequently told to avoid for one reason or another, even with a Holosuit on. "Wait, ain't this one of those things you hate?"Alice just laughs to herself a bit, not foolish enough to dangle her feet off the edge, but enough to be close to someone who is. "What are you saying, I don't hate cameras. But I wanted to give you something to record your experiences here in my world... Just as much as I record things in yours. Just... Don't ask where I got it." She shrugs, wrapping her arms around herself and grumbling slightly. "Let's go back inside.""Will do! I'm getting pretty cold too..." Dorothy grabs her broom and hops onto it, and Alice grabs on as well before sitting on the front carefully. Before the two return inside, however, Dorothy makes the broom go even higher than the building, handing the camera back to Alice briefly until they reach a suitable height. Thankfully, nobody can see the pair. "Okay, now to try it out!"Given the current situation, Alice doesn't want to be seen... She nervously hands Dorothy the camera without saying a word, not wanting to look down and realize that she's at a fairly dangerous height, even more so than when the pair was on the roof. While the witch Digimon uses both hands to take the picture, the human of the pair decides to hold the flying broom steady, seeing as that's the most she can do without potentially ruining the rather risky picture Dorothy wants to take. With a click, the pair begin to lower back to their small balcony, and when Alice's feet touch the floor, a sense of relief overcomes her, and she discards her winter wear the moment she steps back in. "C'mon, you seemed like you were scared for your life!" Dorothy laughs as the two finally head inside, closing the door behind them. "Look at the picture I took 'n tell me I'm not a genius!" The preview screen displays a rather stunning image of the view from above Shibuya, and the blonde grins in a manner both gleeful and mildly terrifying, an unnaturally wide smile of happiness. Instead of tell Dorothy how unpleasant it was to be up there, the green haired lady looks at the end result, a faint smile on her face, and she closes her eyes. Even if things are rough sometimes, it's all worth it when it works out. "I knew you'd like it."

The clock on the wall shows 12:45, and it's very dimly lit. At this hour, those who's in the house either already asleep or checking their schedule for tomorrow. A small footsteps could be heard, descending, tiptoeing to the hallway. The source made a little bit of a detour to the kitchen, where there are note posted on the fridge.
Going to Hakodate for a bit of a class reunion. Might return on 26th. Please take care of your sisters.
Right, they're going together huh. Well, they talked about it this morning, but he guess there's nothing bad about reminding them again. At any rate, it's time for the plan tonight huh. He's sure that his parents would be really against it if he told it to them directly... and he know his siblings would be worried about what happened if he explained why.... So he best try to avoid the subject as much as possible.
A music box rolled from his hand, and immediately, the surrounding becomes silent.
Ryouta stood in front of the phone in his house. On his hand, he got his letter of acceptance to a prestigious cuisine school in Paris. For a while, there are dial up tune that felt like forever... until someone on the other hand spoke in French.
"Yes, uhm hello... My name is Noguchi Ryouta... acceptance number...." he rattled his number, in broken french. The other side thankfully seem to understand and switches to English just in case. "Oh, thank you. Yes, I understand you better now. Yes, um... I'm calling to explain about an unfortunate circumstance... I'd like to withdraw my application please..."
There was seem to be some pause, then Ryouta immediately resumed his reasoning. "Yes, unfortunately, one of my family member was very sick, and I happened to be his main caretaker... I cannot really explain the circumstances myself, I'm sorry. It's a complicated medicinal terms that I can't really understand.... yes, unfortunately it's terminal they said."
There was some more talking, seem about the fact that the tester was impressed by Ryouta's cooking and such... and if he's sure.
"...To be honest, I'd really love to study there too... But unfortunately, I don't think my dream is worth it for my family's recovery... But if there are way to transfer to branch over here...? Oh there is? Can I direct the payment over there then? Alright, thank you. I'd like to transfer if possible... Yes, thank you. As this is 12 AM over here may I call again at more convenient time? ...Yes, yes thank you. Thank you very much for all of your help."
And with a click, Ryouta ended the call. He didn't notice it, but his palm sweated quite a lot. He looked at his D-Nexus for any news... and then it appeared.
From: SirWhiteytheMedic To: PZ:RyouRyou Valt is alright. He's stabled for the meantime, I don't know when will he able to bounce back, but as much as possible, please stay close with him. Currently, Cassie is talking with him. He described his current feeling as 'it's as if he's drugged', which is concerning... We haven't administered anything so far. Either way, I'm sorry to give you this update in Christmas Time.
From: PZ:RyouRyou To: SirWhiteytheMedic Don't worry about it. I'll return soon.
Ryouta exhaled and hugged his knee. His partner is safe, but... until when? He guess he better take june or july class then....

Ys, approximately a bit before Christmas
Yuuki know that he's not supposed to be here today. He's supposed to be home, relaxing, or at least doing something with his family, but frankly there is new year for that... and the other thing is that Ys is mostly unguarded in Christmas. Of course there are Digimons, but Christmas is a tradition for many international members where they have to return back home. Meanwhile, Christmas is less of an issue for a Japanese. It's more of a romantic holiday apparently.
"Let's see... uh... So Tetsu's sister is about to be born, right?"
"Yes, that's correct, so he just left few hours ago... I believe he's in the hospital right now."
"I see, hmn... What about Karin?"
"Decided to retire for the day. She's currently resting in her house I believe."
"Koharu is around right?"
"In the onsen set, should I call for her?"
"No, that's fine actually..."
Yuuki is currently sitting in his office in inner sanctum of Ys. Christmas means less reports than usual as people just want to rest... that's honestly for the best, otherwise the leader would feel utterly stressed out too. For the day, he just lets his hair flow down to his neck rather than tying it. In return, he looked less professional than usual... but that aside, there's not that much difference anyway.
"....What about the rest?"
"Keigo-san is spending time with his sister and brother-in-law. Koutarou-san took a break to treat his parents on a dinner he said. Mei-san is around, but other than that I have no idea, she seem to be helping around with the new year festival preparation however."
New year, huh... Yuuki exhaled. Yes, that was the plan... New year... that's about a week left?
"...That reminds me, Jill... Your father, is he in his throne room?"
The Strabimon secretary in full attire looked up from her custom made D-Nexus, which is made into a tablet rather than just a normal phone. Obviously she also the more compact version, but this one is for her job. She quickly brushed aside some strands from her fur from over her eyes and looked back at him.
"No, actually, he's apparently going around inspecting the city..."
"Ah, well that makes sense... why aren't you going with him?"
"I expected you to stay here, so I thought might as well as . You're concerned about what happened lately, right? I know that you would begin tackling the papers again if I'm not looking. You should give yourself a break, you know?"
"...Could said the same to you," Yuuki fired back, smirking at Jill, who now pulled a chair and poured herself a glass of wine.
"My uncle is apparently a workaholic, and so I got my work ethics from him," Jill countered, sipping her drink.
"Who's your uncle?" Yuuki retorted.
"Oh, so it's not uncle (ojisan) but grandpa (ojiisan) instead?"
"Just because they're one letter different doesn't mean I approve of being called a grandpa! Geez... I guess uncle is fine."
"Fufu, appreciate it. Either way... do you really have nothing to do other than locking yourself up like this?"
"Honestly, there are so many things to think about... About how to proceed from now on. Next year, I'm already a college student, my time to go to Digital World will be slowly reduced. Not to mention, Hikaru will probably stay here a lot as a king, which means we'll be separated quite a lot..."
"So either to take a long time to be a history teacher, or to complete as soon as possible, huh?"
"Then again, I don't think being a history teacher is what I want to be either."
"You looked like you're very invested in Digital World after all... Even for someone who built a city for a hell of it, you poured a lot of your time in here, after all... Still, I thought there are currency exchange and whatnot? Money wouldn't be a problem right?"
"No, I guess... I'm just lost? I felt like I have to do something to fit in more. Digital World is important, but as it is, my life in real world is 0. I feel like... if I don't balance the two..."
"you'll lose one of them, is that right?"
Jill gulped her drink and stared at her leader's eyes hard "Made you think that it's better if both world are known to public, huh?"
"Jill, we have talked about this before and it's---"
"--Not easy, I know. Digital World's existence is fragile. The only reason Japanese Government has yet to fully done any sort of force opening a portal in this world is probably simply because they can't move so brazenly, am I correct? Or at least, that's what you think. Riches, with technology far greater than your world... If Digital World existence is revealed to the entire world, it could cause political unrest, like a thought that we're developing secret army under UN's nose, and at worst..."
"Dissolving of Japanese Government, or sanction so heavy that Japan cannot recover from it, for hiding the existence of Digimon from other country... Unless the UN knows, but somehow I doubted it. And with the new Japanese government not reading memo from the previous government... the risk is heavier than ever."
"Is that why you made KIZNA?"
"Part of it..." Yuuki rose from his seat and looked at his D-Nexus. "Jill, I'm heading out a bit, alright?"
"Right, anything you want me to do so it's ready by the time you returned?"
"No, let's forget it, I'm just going to the onsen anyway, I need to cool myself off..."
And with that, the leader left, leaving only the Strabimon, who rubbed the rim of her glass. "...You should probably not shoulder that sort of burden yourself you know? We have faith on you, but why is it that you don't have that great of faith to us? ...Sometimes I just want to tell him to depend on the rest of the members more.."

Christmas... it's generally something that her and her family celebrated together, but today, she decided to not go. Instead, she's sitting on the balcony of her apartment. There won't be any fireworks today thankfully, and it's not so cold that she have to get inside immediately. Slightly laid on her lap is her trusted guitar that she has been together with for quite a long time. For the first time in a while, Karin played soft tune from it. At first she plays it with no care on the world... There are usually some festivies anyway, so noises usually more tolerated at this time.
"...What a joke, now I can do it?" Karin muttered bitterly. She looked at the pick on her hand. Since when does she forgot the importance of the rose embossed on its face, along with the thorns ...and the words written on it? The more she thinks about it, the more it doesn't make sense the slightest.
"It's rare that you're playing guitar this late," Freya suddenly approached with hot cocoa on her hand. She put one close to Karin then sat seiza herself. Karin merely stared at it first before blewing its surface slightly, letting it cool enough. For all cat jokes, Karin cannot handle food that's too hot, just like a cat. Once she felt it's sufficiently cooled enough, she tested the temperature with her lips. Following that, she took a sip and took a gulp before putting it down.
"Is it not to your liking?" Freya asked. She definitely noticed the strangeness of the silence of Karin's action.
"Mmm, contrary, it's something that I like. Caramel, chocolate... no marshmallow, but with a hit of something chewy... Yeah, it's definitely something I really like."
"Is that so? Well, I guess I'm right in making those," Freya commented, the Floramon sipping on the hot cocoa too.
Karin played her guitar again. Slowly, softly... There were no words spoken between the two for a while. The room also not lit the slightest, leaving only moonlight as the illumination. Freya did not even look at her, despite how lightly dressed she is.
"...Do you know what rose symbolizes?" Karin asked.
"Are we talking about english plant language, or hanakotoba?"
"I guess whichever."
"Red rose means in love... white means devotion, innocence and silence... yellows means jealousy... and pink means"
"trust... happiness, confidence..."
"Yes, that's true."
For a moment, Karin was silence, but then she finally looked at the Floramon. "...Once, there was a rose. So thorny, so frozen, and while snow does not cover it, it was so red, so bold that it looked like black from far away. It doesn't conform to any of other roses' color... stubbornly staying so deep red as if it's full of hatred... It was not a rose of love. It's a rose that was so lonely, yet at the same time so stubborn that it refused to be similar with the rest, and letting go of that 'color', although it was so red that it's unhealthy.
'This color represents who I am', it says. 'What traits do I have if I don't cling to it?'.
Yes.. and it doesn't change... and supposedly, it doesn't until the end of the time." Karin flipped the pick. "...Yet why it turned pink I wonder?"
The rose on the pick, it's color isn't obscene red that inches closer to black, but pink. a pale pink of a pink rose. Before Karin could notice it, her eyes are already moist.
"Since when, Freya? Since when?"
"....So you noticed."
"How couldn't I? The rest of my friends, all of them have Digimon partners, no way I'm excluded... How couldn't I when the answer is right in front of me? How couldn't I when I noticed that once again my clock started moving when you came back? The question isn't 'why do I notice' but 'why don't I realize it sooner."
Karin tossed a CD at the Floramon's direction. She catches it easily.
"I can't even bring myself to hear our song... My head was repulsed, it felt like it's going to break... It felt like I'm going crazy, yet... yet this thing..." she pointed at the cener of her D-Nexus, the Crest of Loyalty shines bright "was the reason why I can pull it. Then it all just makes sense... But... but then I remembered everything you said before, although I still remembered nothing about our past.
...You said how it's best if I have no idea, don't you? It's best if we start from the beginning, this time without being so dependent of one another."
"And I still stand by that."
"WHY!?" Karin immediately stood up. Her guitar made a clattering sound, but she don't care. She instead walked inside. The moonlight behind her did not show a form of a dignified girl who was known for her cold attitude, nor the cool explorer of KIZNA. It only showed an emotionally torn girl.
"Why must you decide this by yourself!? WHY CAN'T YOU JUST BE LIKE THE REST AND TELL ME ABOUT YOURSELF!? WHY MUST YOU SHOULDER THIS BY YOURSELF, ALONE LIKE THAT!? WHY...Why can't you even trust me when I'm supposed to be your partner?"
Tears streaming down her face. There's no longer any facade of a strong girl. The red rose has been crushed by her own stubbornness. "After those white roses you gave to me a year ago as the sign of your devotion to me? Why? Why, Jeanne? Where did I failed you...?"
"We both failed one another, Ojou. Our failure is that we're so closely tied, that rather than just a piece of jigsaw missing, it'll instead be a gaping hole for you if I died. Your crest was so strong in rejecting that enemy from destroying me, so strongly that it could actually cause your mental to collapse from paradox. So I shattered our bond myself. But looks like I ironically can't even cut it right"
"So in the end.... is it always for me? Must it stays like this? Where I have to be protected, and I gave you nothing in return?"
"That is my loyalty as your knight. And now, when I'm no longer your knight, I still intend to fulfill that."
"Why.. can't you be more selfish? Says something like we'll always be together...? Why can't you follow what your heart tells rather than doing everything for me?"
Jeanne, no, Freya smiled sadly.
"Because that's what loyalty meant to me. I care not about my desire, just your well being. So even if you hate me for my action... then so be it. But I intend to stay true to my words."
"Even when the truth is already out?"
"I'm well aware... that you might will try to get closer to me in return, but... It's best if our relationship stayed in this arm length way. Lest you lost me again... lest you have to rewind that trauma for the second time." Freya stood up, before looking at Karin once more. "....I'm sorry, Karin. I love you.... but if we returned to those days... then we're bound to repeat the same mistakes again. That's why... please let's just stay as close partners, without such strong bonds between us."
Christmas was supposed to be day of joy, yet to Karin, she had no idea what to even do with this revelations...

"You can't hold me accountable for something I said so long agon when there's such extrenuating circumstances!"
In a small room lit by a cluster of candles (and a ceiling light overhead) a man sat in front of a laptop on a kotetsu with his cell phone cradled against his head. Across from him sat a blonde boy that was carefully polishing a large golden shield.
"So you admit to being a liar." David ran a hand over his face and rolled his eyes as he tried not to laugh at the steady voice at the other end of the line.
"Why yes, Jess, if it makes you feel better then I am the very worst lying liar that lied." He said with a roll of his eyes. There was a brief pause of silence from theother end and he waited, his eyebrows raised expectantly.
"...It doesn't." She finally said. Abruptly her voice switched back to the faux-scolding tone she had been using for the rest of the call. "Howevever I am glad you are finally admitting to it. Admitting you have a problem is the first step to fixing it and I am determined to help you fix it."
"Oh ho, so you admit I'm just a hobby to you!" He exclaimed. His heart had hurt at the candid admission of Jess's feelings but they both knew that sometimes with this line of work the holidays were Just Like That. "You just want to try and mold me into one of those Hallmark male leads and live out your Christmas time fantasies!"
"Mm, I'll pass. Too much dicking around in the equation for my liking." David threw his head back and guffawed heartily. It drew him a confused look from his roommate on the other side of the kotetsu in his little rented room but he just flapped his hand and cackled, wiping away a couple tears.
"Oh, oh that was perfect. How long have you been working on that one?"
"Since my family's get together last week. They missed us." He gave a quiet snort as he remembered last year's Christmas celebration and the sheer awkwardness of Jess's family.
"You know you're always welcome at my parents' place. I'm sure they'd love to see you."
"Mmm, are you going to call them then?" He snorted derisively because it was a foolish question and she chuckled because it was a supremely foolish question on her part. "Sorry, sorry, I've been talking with everyone else and it just slipped out."
"Mm, fair enough. How is everyone in the office doing?"
The two soon launched into discussion about the other editors and photographers associated with the magazine. A while later he hung up and dropped his phone down by his laptop then leaned back onhis arms with a sigh, his head tilted toward the ceiling.
"...is it hard?" The voice was so quiet that David almost didn't catch it but he tilted his head back to face the puppet across the table from him. After a moment of silence he raised an eyebrow and tilted his head forward.
"Is what hard, kiddo? You're going to have be more specific." The cloth carefully polishing the shield stopped and the polisher stared at the grinning sun as he gathered his thoughts. David waited patiently. He hadn't known the 'Digimon' long but he did know the kid wasn't the fastest at articulating his thoughts.
"...to be alone, at this time." Riley finally said. He gestured with the cloth in his hand toward the muted tv in the corner where the screen showed a western film featuring a family gathering around a table. David's eyebrow dropped to normal as he watched the show for a moment then looked back at Riley.
"I've done the holiday season away from them before. It's not fun, but I'm not alone this time." He grinned at Riley's confused look and then pushed himself forward to lean over the table, reaching out one hand to ruffle the surprisingly soft blonde hair. "I've got you around obviously!"

"So... Kumatarou..." "It's Gryz, sir..." "Kumatarou, did my grandson told you if the baby is born yet?" ....Gryz bitterly smiled at this man in front of him who's seem to insisting that his name is Kumatarou. Well, whatever. Tetsu's grandfather doesn't looks like most grandfather considering how he looked more like... an aristocrat or something. Wouldn't surprise him if he does. Speaking of which, upon arrival to real world, Tetsu practically ran toward the hospital, leaving Gryz pretty much have to be creative with how he can go home... Thankfully, all he need to do was to call the driver of the family to pick him up. Well, he more or less understood what happened. Basically, Tetsu's mother has gone into labor and pretty much in the hospital. Tetsu, being the panicky guy he is, immediately called for Taxi rather than waiting for the car and immediately hopped in. Talk about really urgent. About five minutes ago he told Gryz that he arrived and is now in the the hospital... But well... how to say... "Kumatarou, is the baby born yet?" "Not yet sir." They have been going like this for quite a while. Honestly, as much as Grandpa Rokurou is a great man, Gryz wished that he could understand that human's birth is not like a Digimon's birth. it takes time, and that time may goes into hours. And it's funny why he's the one who knows this and not the grandfather... but he guess all things are off the table when it comes to birth. "Kumata--" "Sir,it's not going to go any faster no matter how many times you ask me, you know. I'm not God of Birth." That made the butler chortled while Rokurou grumbled, saying 'could have told me in better way'. Either way, Gryz is currently playing Shogi with the old man. Unfortunately, while Rokurou is actually a great player, his concern for his daughter and about to be born granddaughter causes him to fumble a lot. "ARGH GEEZ, THIS IS NOT THE TIME TO PLAY SHOGI! WHY AM I BANNED TO COME THERE!?" ...Probably because you're going to rampage like this anyway and distracts your daughter... Gryz wanted to say this, but honestly, it's hard to say that to the grandpa. As if there is someoe who reads his mind, there's a text from Tetsu. The Baby is Born! Mom's fine, but she's weak at the moment. Tell grandpa he can come now.
Meanwhile in the hospital, Tetsu... honestly had no idea what sort of complex feeling is this. There are happiness, there are excitement, there are also relief, but at the same time anxiety. His mother thankfully is conscious, but she's definitely drained. "Tetsu, come here... You can hold her." "E-eh? R-really? But..." "It's alright... just don't be rough on her." "I-I wouldn't dare...!" But regardless, the boy approached his mother's bedside and was handed over the baby. After some cry and feeding she's now content on her big brother's arm. "...Light..." "I think you're just too strong," Tetsu's father retorted, looking amused at that comment. There's just something that made Tetsu really happy, though.. really proud. He have no idea whether the girl could hear or not, but... 'welcome to this world, little sis' was what he whispered to her ear. "So, what's her name?" "Well, I dunno, maybe you have a name ready?" his father answered. "Eh!? W-wait, that's to irresponsible..." "The one who named you was your brother you know? So I think by now it's a tradition. It's alright, isn't it?" "Eeeehhh...? W-we-well, I guess... Shizuku or something? It's... quiet today, so... oh wait, that's droplet..." "Hmmm... well, not bad I guess! We'll decide the kanji at other time!" ..Once again, Tetsu was really amused by his father's nonchalance at this sort of moment... but whatever. That night ended with his grandfather holding his little sister, and seem to decide the kanji for her name. It wasn't really something eventful, but in the end, he's happy!

Christmas in Japan was often a time to be spent with family, sharing good food and strong drink but for Littorio? Spending christmas with her family was difficult due to the entirety of Asia and the majority of Europe being between them. She had made plans to visit them over the winter holidays but then work called her in for overtime and she was forced to postpone; she had fortunately been gifted with the foresight to send gifts ahead of time though.
It was this inability to spend Christmas with her family, and the close bonds with her co-workers that Littorio maintained, that had brought her to a shanty bar in the Shinjuku Golden Gai area of Kabukicho. Maintaining bonds with one’s colleagues was pretty important and while Littorio was by no means a native to the country, she had integrated into the culture pretty effectively hence why she was hosting a nommunication party with her co-workers. In truth she did not fully understand it but if it was how the game was played then one simply had to dance across the board.
“You look like you could use some more sake Nakamura-san.” She held the bottle towards her co-worker, smiling warmly as she poured the liquid into his glass. There were plenty of times when Littorio played fast and loose with the naming conventions of this country but this was not one of them. Her underling nodded and gratefully accepted the drink, calmly sipping the rice wine. Littorio brushed her long hair out of her eyes before picking up a piece of sushi, gracefully inserting it into her mouth.
“Couldn’t make it to Hokkaido to visit the folks huh?” Littorio may have only pretended to care about the lives of her employees but she did go to great effort to maintain that illusion. From occasional conversations over drinks with her staff Littorio had gotten to know a great deal about them. You had Nakamura with his fishing family from Hokkaido, Tanaka whose father had sadly passed from cancer this year, Yamoto who could not handle his rice wine and then Saito who Littorio was surprised had accepted her invite. There were more employees amid Littorio’s team but they had not been able to make it today.
“Haaaah. Sorry for having to bring you all in for overtime over the holiday season. You know how the higher ups are. You tell them how long it takes, they cut the deadline short then expect you all to work miracles….” The purpose of nommunication parties amid Japanese office culture may have been for everyone to air grievances without any risk of offence, after all you could hardly fault the drunk for saying what was inappropriate, but Littorio was Italian and could hold her liquor so well she rarely forgot what was said at these events. Sake was nothing compared to the wine served in her home country.
“IYeah well, the boss man is paying me for this so I don’t care.” As candidly as ever Saito spoke his mind, casually leaning against the bar and downing his cup of sake. Normally he did not bother attending things like this but he had little better to do this time of year; bad relations with family and all that. Conversation soon died down as bottles were emptied, food eaten and by the end of the night Littorio had to get her drunken employees home safely. Some days it was a real pain being in charge but what could you do?~

Christmas isn't supposed to be a stressful holiday... well maybe it is for Americans... but well, for Koharu she prefers if it's uneventful. That's probably why the moment she's here, she only took whatever needed from the staff, look at it, give it some more of her input, and then immediately retreated to the hot spring after her duty was completed. This one is a private one that someone can rent for 1000 bits per use. A very hefty price, but it also come with a lot of benefit. Plus it's not like people would soak for more than thirty minutes anyway, or they'll probably faint...
"Juice?" that voice belonged to Kon-chan beside her who's offering her a bottle of cold juice.
"I'm not sure drinking juice at time like this would be nice, but eh well..." Koharu gratefully took it and poured the content on a cup. She took several gulp from it before setting it down on its floating tray again, gently pushing it toward Warg who's on the other side.
"Mmm? Something in your mind? You're usually more chipper than now."
"Mmmm, it's just... I'm wondering... Everything seem to be just so easily... changing. Something is so volatile, and when it comes to Digital World, doubly so... there are seem to be nothing that lasts more than just a moment. A year, two years... Why are we here in this world? What's our goal even? We're called to this world suddenly, yet we never really have any missions... just voluntary danger we tossed at ourselves at. It felt like we're nothing special, despite being chosen. It's like we're just winning some lottery rather than is here for a reason."
"So basically, you felt lost at the moment?"
"Yeah... I mean, I can be so famous in Digital World because there are so many interesting things here... and it's easier. You're not as looked down in Digital World when you're this young because most chosens are young teens anyway... But in real world..."
"You feel like your skills are wasted, basically?"
"Basically... Yeah. I feel like as long as the two worlds are kept separate, there won't be any acknowledgement for the time we poured in this world. We'll just be treated as deviants... As much as I wanted to stay in here thanks to that..."
"Homesickness is a real thing huh."
"That's the thing."
Kon-chan sipped her sake. "Want to become a politician, then?"
"Even as a joke that's not funny," Koharu replied wryly. "What can an otaku like me do as a politician anyway? Plus I joke too much, and being in parliament sounds incredibly boring with a lot of stuck up boomers pressing for rules to the extreme like "if you yawn too much in the senate then you're out" or something. Don't want that sort of thing."
"It's OK if you don't know what do you want to do," Kon-chan answered. "...'Future' is something that you have no idea of. Sometimes your plan could fall apart and you would ask 'why', but... the most important thing is life goes on. Even if you're lost at the moment, you'll probably see your calling later..."
"But what if I said I'm the one who make new year resolution?"
"You?" Warg skeptically asked, then chortled. "Niiiice joke, seriously! I swear on day two you would just drop it!"
"Hey, but my crest is determination!"
"Yeah, but you're determined when it's something super important. When it comes to new year resolution I think that's just formality to you."
"Oh fine! You're asking for it! I'll knock your sock off later, just you see!"
"I don't even wear any!"
Today too in christmas day, the trio made merry ruckus... While the future is uncertain, doubly so when this world has took a lot from them, they can't help but to walk toward the future anyway...
