'Rosewood's Adventurer's Guild.'
So the sign said. It was a one-story building made of wood, with stone cladding the first few feet of it, from the ground up. With a big barrel to store water at the front, it looked much like a tavern, and indeed served as such. It was where local adventurers gathered, shared stories with one another, and took on quests. It was also where they celebrated their victories and mourned their losses. Today, though, the place seemed oddly quiet.
I'm not so sure about this...
Yomi was on the fence with the idea. Steady, safe, and monotonous work was more up her alley. Not ... this. She played enough videogames to know that adventures and quests usually meant violence. And although she now had the body of a renamon warrior, her own spirit was far from one. While she pondered excuses not to, a voice inside of her head came to life, once more.
A coward will not find her way home. You've been in this world long enough. Start growing a spine.
She frowned at that harsh rebuke.
I'm only here because of you. And if I die, you die with me, remember?
I am willing to risk it. I have waited long enough. Who wants to live forever?
Seeing her spirit dauntless, the renamon sighed and pushed at the door. It opened inwards with a creek. A few steps, and Yomi peered inside. Cautiously, as if expecting someone to jump her. She did not like taverns. The last place she 'worked' at had people look at her oddly. This one was ... surprisingly empty. Aside from a few folks in the corners, most of the tables were empty. The most noticeable person was the person at the bar - a tall knightmon. His sword hung above the counter, as a sort of a trophy, and he was busy polishing a glass, with a small clean rug. When seeing Yomi, he waved.
"Hello! Hello! Welcome to Rosewood Adventurers' Guild! I am Knightmon. Are you one of our kind? You have the look of a warrior about you!"
The renamon approached, her head tucked into her shoulders, as she seemed a bit intimidated by the tall Knightmon, despite the friendly appearance.
"Hi, I'm Yomi. And um... no, I really don't." - she denied the knight's assumption. A puzzled look appeared on his eyes, even if the rest was hidden behind a helmet.
"Really? You have a mighty fine sword on your back! It looks like it had seen many battles!"
"It, uhh... used to belong to someone else. I'm just starting."
"Ohhh... a famous blade of a famous warrior, perhaps? I would love to hear the stories of valor associated with it! I am something of a swordsman myself, you see. Even though mine has been hanging on the wall for quite some time now. Still! I find equal satisfaction in guiding the young around here on the road to adventuring!"
Yomi diverted her gaze. Come to think of it... she did not know much about the blade she wielded... Or the spirit she now shared the body with. All she knew what that it was not a very nice spirit... And that the blade was found in a field of blades. The rest was... blurred images, that appeared at night. They were ... violent.
"Maybe some other time, Knightmon-san."- the renamon bowed respectfully. "I heard one could find work here. Is there anything for a novice? Preferably nothing complicated or particularly dangerous?"
The Knightmon beamed up, at that request.
"Certainly, certainly, my dear! All of us had to take the first step. Over there there is a board. E or C-level quests might just be up your alley! Come to me after you've picked one!"
Nodding, Yomi approached the board, and gazed at it. My, there were so many! Her eyes almost looked in different directions. Guard the caravan... No... Hunt down bandit... no... Protect... no way... Mercenary band looking for... nuh-uhh...
Little did the newcomer knew... that while picking, she was being watched.

This was the third time that she had come to the digital world.
The first time was just a simple trip and the second time was her death. This third time was a lot more peaceful, she had asked someone at her track about this place. About the digital world and had found surprise when they told her a lot about it, enough to where she felt a touch more comfortable. She had asked about how to get there without just randomly getting transported. They had provided a portal for her, saying it went to one of the cities.
But they didn’t tell her which.
So when the trees yawned up in front of her and the itchy sensation of pollen at her nose for a moment before her form crumbled into that of a digimon… She was a little frustrated. She had hoped that she would have ended up back in terminus, a location she somewhat knew from her own travels and the spans of memories that the.. ‘Other’ had.
She also knew that she was stuck here, without a portal of her own to use to get back to the human world she wouldn’t be able to leave. But she also knew that if she could get to terminus she could use the trains there to get where she needed to go. But there was an issue there. The lack of financial support. She had no bits to her name and hadn’t spent much in the way of time in the digital world. So she wouldn’t of naturally produced any.
That’s when her attention was caught on the adventurer’s guild; a building that was solid and must have been there for a good few years. She recognized the symbol of the place; it must of been somewhere that the other had been to before. So she entered it without much thought. The few people inside weren’t ones she recognized, nor was the ‘bar-keep’. Though his friendly demeanor was welcome and she quickly got directions from him in regards to starting out.
The mission board! A place she could pick and choose what she wanted to do. Though she deigned to take pictures of everything so she could just sit down and mull it over. While she didn’t need to eat or breathe or even sleep, it didn’t hurt conserving energy. She’d take a seat and mull over the various jobs.
Her attention however was taken from her pictures and drawn to that of a black renamon. The dark fur and posture was something she didn’t see very often. Nor was that blade that rested on their back. The magnamon-x felt her claws dig into the table slightly and she’d shift wordlessly in her seat.
Judging by the conversation they were just starting out but the nervousness seemed almost… human in a way? Maybe this was someone who spent a lot of time in the human world and was just getting used to the digital much like she was? Or perhaps digimon could be just as confused? She didn’t know the answer but she felt the need to approach them. So she did.
Though she was a tad more ponderous than she should have been, not sure how to start up the conversation. Finding that little bit of information irritating she’d click her teeth and speak up. Figuring that there was no better way to start this off!
”Just starting out too huh? You a swordsman type or something?”
The magnamon-x shifted her posture and stared down at the other, she was a little bit taller. But not by much by the looks of it? She shifted and let her eye take in the other’s resting stature. A hand extended in greeting, offering for a shake. A very human notion... one if reciprocated would hopefully answer a question pal had.
”Name’s Palicae. Everyone calls me Pal. What’s yours?

Eeek!
The renamon tucked her head into her shoulders a bit, as she heard clanking footsteps behind her, drawing closer and closer. Up until a shadow loomed from behind. Was it an enemy? Did she accidentally step on someone's territory? Was that someone hogging all the newbie quests to themselves and wanted to ward her off? All of these thoughts immediately went through Yomi's head.
Pathetic. Someone approached, and you shiver like a leaf in the wind. If you do not want to be a victim, do not look weak.
Normally, Yomi would shrug off the spirit's suggestion, like many others. Not this time though. He's right. I've nothing to be afraid of. The Knightmon over there was friendly enough. Doubt he'd tolerate any hostile behavior on his turf. It's fine. Having said those words to herself inside of her mind, Yomi slowly untucked her head from the shoulders and straightened herself up, before turning around to face the person. Her eyes went up.
The first thing she noticed was... metal. There was a lot of it. Spikes all around. The digimon looked more advanced than most she had seen so far. Kind of like a transformer, of sorts. Must be a lot stronger than the rest... - she thought. All bling and no substance. They're about as strong as you are. - the spirit retorted. Those words kind of put Yomi at ease. Looking at the offered hand, she reached down and shook it.
"My name is Yomi. I am a ... Renamon?" - she said, as if not completely sure of what was it that she was. "I am new, yes. First time in Rosewood... I was just looking for a way to earn some bits to continue my journey." - - her grip tightened around the hand she was shaking, as if to measure just how strong this one was.

The other seemed a touch scared of her for some reason, at least judging by the reaction that she garnered initially. Perhaps someone that had trouble with new comers in general? The magnamon rubbed at her neck, there was no real hostility in her motions. No real desire to hurt or maim. She was just as friendly as the next mon around here if nott a bit more so. Then again she was a bit more forward too.
Seeing the other untuck themselves and straighten up; Pal couldn’t help but wonder what sort of life they lived to require a reaction like that? Maybe she was jittery and from the forest? She didn’t know. The introduction and the questioning tone left the magnamon-x with a bit more information.
”Nice to meet yah Yomi. I’m doing the same; thinking about heading out towards terminus after I get some bits. Where are you headed to?”
The magnamon’s hand felt strangely cold, like there was no real life to it. Like she was a robot or something. It was smooth and the handshake itself reciprocated the same amount of pressure that the other gave. Equaling out in a strange sense.
”Odd question, but if you don’t know what you are… does that mean you're human too?”
The magnamon-x raised a brow and tilted her head slightly, if she had to guess they were around her age… But it was just a guess, she didn’t know if they were and didn’t want to assume too much. After all if she was wrong they could be absolutely wrong!
”What sort of stuff you are looking for? Something exciting?”

"It's... it's that obvious, isn't it?"
Yomi frowned a bit, when the metallic digimon deducted her being a human. The digimon she met on the way here, Syre, spotted it right off the bat too. She sighed. "Suppose there's no point in trying to hide it. I'm Nobuhiko Yomi, or... used to be." - the Renamon looked at herself, as though she was inspecting a suit. Her body was strong and well-built, made for combat. And yet... she did not feel like a warrior, not yet at least.
"I'm heading North. It's ... where I must be. And no, I'm not looking for anything exciting. Had plenty of 'excitement' on my way here from the Dark Area, eh-heh..." - Yomi pulled a fake smile on her lips, and shuddered lightly. The memory of that place was still giving her nightmares. It was something of a minor miracle she got out of there in piece in the first place. Though the North, where she was headed, was not known for hospitality either. But Yomi tried not to think of it, she'd cross that bridge when she'd get there.
"I wanted to try something simple and easy for my first time... Preferably without fighting. I'm not..."
Weakness... - Yomi thought to herself, and bit her tongue, a little.
"... I'm not very fond of it. But I can defend myself, if I must." - the renamon corrected herself, a bit. Not very subtly so.
"What kind of work are you looking for?" - she asked, trying to shift the subject from herself towards the metal-clad... girl? Her voice sounded female, but with all the metal reverberating, it was hard to tell. And the appearance did not offer any clues either, so...
Wait. Waaaaait...
It suddenly hit Yomi like a brick. She looked up, eyes wide.
"You said... you're a human TOO?!"

”Somewhat. Fish out of water look mostly. Then again someone who’s also a fish out of water notices it real easy...
The mon gave a small shrug, honestly it was harder for people to guess with her since well… Maybe it was because she just didn’t talk to as many people? The few folks that she interacted with were mostly humans other than the knightmon.
”Used to be? You stuck like this or something?”
Another arched brow and the robotic reptile gave a small nod at the explanation that Yomi was heading north. It was a cold and desolate place from what she heard, almost as desolate as the dark area but… With that mention the magnamon couldn’t help but wonder what sort of travels the other had.
”I spose, but a lot of the ‘lower level’ stuff seems to be lots of fighting right? Can’t all be bad.”
Pal blinked as the other admitted that she wasn’t fond of fighting, she could understand it but given the world they were in… Was it really an option otherwise? She’d look down at the pictures she had taken and mulled it over.
”Honestly I’m not sure. I figured one of the bandit ones could work or maybe escorts but… There’s a few package delivery to places I’m not terribly familiar with.”
The magnamon-x blinked as the other homed in on her ‘too’ and let out a small sigh. How complicated was this situation that she could explain it in a simple way to the stranger? Rubbing at her chin the magnamon shrugged slowly.
”I did yeah. I’m technically human, but I think only in mind. Which is kinda odd if you think about it. It’s complicated. So if you're not lookin for fighting stuff what sort of jobs you think you’d even be good at?
It was a reasonable question right? That the other would want something else. What sort of quests could they go on that wouldn’t just be simple mob break ups or small fights? Was her own form even good at anything other than fighting?

"... You even used the same words!"
Yomi rolled her eyes at being described as a fish out of water. Did she really look like a fish? Did she have a fish-eye look? It vexed her so. She sighed, shoulders drooping as she accepted the fact that she was just that easy to read. Fortunately, it did not bite her in the rear yet. YET. Still, the feeling that someone else was stuck in the same boat as her was relieving... somewhat. She breathed out, and nodded.
"Yes, I am stuck this way. And until I do the thing the thing that brought me here wants, it will stay that way. But yeah, it is complicated..."
The girl did not want to get into details, and she was sure the other one did not want to, either. The fact she had to share a mind with a foreign entity already was disturbing enough. There were many areas which Yomi wanted to keep away from anyone. The less... reputable ones. As her mind went that way, she heard a snicker at the back of her mind.
"Oh shut up." - she muttered, before her eyes widened, and she flailed with both hands in front of herself. "Uhm... not meant to you, Palicae... We were talking about jobs, right?" - Yomi looked a bit spaced out for the moment, before refocusing.
"I don't know what I'd be good at. My most marketable skill so far has been having fingers. Most digimon have claws and cannot hold things properly. Or wash dishes for that matter..." - she said, and rubbed her chin. "And I doubt someone would hire me to do 9th grade homework... Hmm..."
She looked at the bulletin board again. Yeah, lots of fighting jobs, but then again, this was an adventurer's guild. What did she expect to find?
"Maybe there's something like go bring back 10 black berries or collect 50 firewood..." - she tried to apply videogame cliches to the situation. Digimon were basically videogames, right?

Her phone rang loudly in her pocket. Startled, she frantically reached for it; the tune was unmistakably the one she'd chosen for Iktomimon. "Why don't you go talk to them?", the text message read. She pouted lightly, and rapidly tapped on the touchscreen. "Why don't you shut up?" "Whoa, keyboard warrior. I haven't done anything wrong in a few weeks." Aleja huffed. "I was going to anyways." The phone received one last message, which she chose not to read. "Good, 'cause I cranked up the volume on purpose."
It had been a long week. After she had decided to make rounds around Digiworld and help the people in need, she quickly realised there already were dedicated hotspots where to go and pick her fate: boards, taverns, even whole centers. People and Digimon would just put up a request, and whoever decided to pick it up was to signal it to the relevant figures. It worked for her.
It was the very first time she had been to Rosewood; the city felt completely different compared to Whitewater, and consequently, completely different from her hometown in the actual world, Ica. For some reason, she kept placing Whitewater and Ica on the same exact level, as if both of them at once could have been her birthplace. That only went to show how much her attitude towards Digiworld had shifted; to her, at that point, Digiworld was the reality.
One morning, she had decided to go and see what the city had to offer in terms of deeds and quests; the very first place Iktomimon had mentioned was called "Rosewood's Adventurer Guild". She entered, and waved at the Knightmon; she wasn't much for conversation that day, so she went straight for the bulletin board where some people were already checking out the posts.
Indeed, she had been listening to most of the conversation between the two, especially the part where they both admitted to being human. It struck her particularly hard, as she began finding actual humans "disguised" as Digimon at an alarming rate ever since she transformed for the very first time.
One thing in particular was pretty odd to her. The way the black fox - Renamon was the name of their species, right? - had been staring into the void, before saying out loud the words "shut up." This, paired with "the thing that brought me here", made her only conclude one thing: either they had their own Iktomimon to care about, or that trickster of a spider deity was pestering her as well. "Uhm... Excuse me?" She started, blaming herself in her mind for being so bland in presentation. "I heard... 'something', brought you here?" She took off the hood to reveal her hair, which she had dyed black and gold with white tips. Her makeup and attire matched and complemented the colour, too. Was it too harsh of a question? Maybe she should've at least introduced herself, before addressing her. "I'm sorry, my ears picked it up and I'm just curious."

Post by Kenny O'Hara and Skadi on Feb 7, 2020 5:28:31 GMT
Sometimes, on slow days like this, Rosewood made a great stop for both Kenny and Skadi to hang out for a little bit. Especially after tough or dangerous missions where both human and Digimon had to risk life and limb to save the day, it was always best to unwind in a calming, peaceful town full of Rookie-level Digimon who called this place home. But still, as members of KIZNA, they made sure to represent themselves to the best of their ability (well, Kenny anyways. Skadi just loved to play and roughhouse with the other Rookies for fun).
After nabbing a quick lunch from the local cafe, the two had set off once more around the village, until something interesting caught Kenny's eye; two Digimon, a BlackRenamon and a Magnamon X were just hanging around a bulletin board, discussing what to do with one another. From what they could hear, the Renamon was looking for something to do. Maybe they needed pay or something. And who could blame them?
With another girl joining them, this time human, Kenny called out to the three of them from afar, "Hey you guys! You need any help with anything?" He walked over to the makeshift group, with Skadi following him in turn, her hooves clacking along the floor as she ran to keep up with him in turn. It did help she was usually very active and willing. As soon as they reached the group, Kenny put his hands in his pockets and gave a warm smile, while Skadi could be seen wagging her tail happily like a happy-go-lucky puppy.
"If you want, maybe we could help you guys out for a while, and help you get you a job as well." He offered to the rest of the group, but his focus fell more on the concerned Renamon, "The name's Kenny, and that Valaismon down there is my partner Skadi. We're members of team KIZNA." He flashed the small badge on his shirt to them, glistening nicely in the sunlight.
Skadi happily gave the rest of the group a happy wave, "Nice to meetcha guys!" She chirped to them, as her tail continued to wag. She was always happy to make new friends, human or Digimon. Or both for that matter, she didn't mind. After all, any friend of Kenny was a friend of Skadi.

”Erm… Sorry bout that.”
Pal shook her head and gave a small shrug. How else was she supposed to describe the other? She was in the same boat so it was easy to recognize it. Maybe… Well maybe that look would also be useful in the future in some vein or another? Though hearing that the other was stuck like this didn’t exactly fill palicae with confidence of their own situation.
”Well. Gotta look on the brightside of things too. At least you’re not stuck as a numemon right? I understand.”
There was a small chuckle that followed suit; she had only recently learned about the slime digimon and boy was she happy she wasn’t stuck as one either. A slime human would be far harder to explain than… well whatever she was at the moment. Robot dragon thing?
”Eh? Oh. Yeah we were. There’s… a lot here but it’s kinda… well.”
Pal rubbed at her face and shook her head; there was a lot here. She wasn’t even sure what she could pick out and what she could handle. There was just… it was kind of an overload if she had to be frank. Hearing that the other didn’t know what they were good at and that their most marketable skill was the fact she had fingers made the other human gone mon look at her own hands with a bemused look.
”I wouldn’t be surprised if that was the case in a bigger city for younger mons. But I don’t think that sort of thing is going to be found on a quest board of all things. ”
The magnamon-x traced her finger down the board, frowning slightly. There were so many different kinds of jobs. Yes there were gathering, delivery to dangerous areas, fighting some bandits or beating back feral mons… Wait digimon went feral?
”Not so much black berries and firewood as some kind of mushroom? Though apparently finding them is bad. What the hell is a whitecap?
Pal jerked as she heard someone speak up, turning slowly as another… Well another human. Not one that went digimon but one that was just flat human! She’d stare at the other noting that she was… extraordinarily well dressed for the area. Or at least that’s what the magnamon-x figured.
”Uhm… Complicated… was it?”
Pal sometimes didn’t handle being surprised all too well. Then again that was part of the reason she was in this mess entirely. She’d consider her options, turning her head to look at the board and letting out an inner groan as she heard another voice. A male voice that was quickly opting to be… very friendly. She’d turn her head to find… A sheep of some kind and a rather charming looking human. She’d scratch at her head again; not sure what to say right away. But thankfully they introduced themselves so they could just go with that. She was a royal mess around groups it seemed.
”Uh. Right. I’m palicae. Folks call me pal. We’re just looking to see what’s on the board. Trying to find something that pays well. And nice to meet you as well.”
The mangamon felt her confidence dwindling a bit. She didn’t know why but there was this odd sensation of being waaaay out of her depth all of a sudden...

As the two were talking about which job to pick, they were joined by two more. Well... three. Four? Hard to tell for certain. Two humans and a digimon. Yomi smiled a little, as presence of fellow humans always made her feel more at ease. And less... lost in this strange and foreign world. A part of her felt like this was a weird videogame, like in those anime shows that seemed to come into popularity recently. The black fox's attention first came to the human girl that was not accompanied by a digimon of some sort. That felt... oddly familiar.
"Yeah, it's pretty complicated. Like a voice that tells you what to do... And gets pretty pissy when you don't."
Her eyes rolled a bit up, as if looking inside her own mind.
"Yes, like a petulant child! Ugh..." - Yomi groaned, as that last comment of hers earned her a migraine. She then shifted her sight towards the young man with a sheep. It was a cute sheep. It made the renamon smile, if just for a bit. The name of the team made her look quizzical.
"Team KIZNA? That from a pokemon game or something? Hello... Sorry. My name is Yomi. Nobuhiko Yomi. I was a human once..."
Was she away for that long? Did they release a new game without her. The fox's eyes shifted back towards the board, where the various jobs were posted. She rubbed her chin, thinking, ears twitching. Just before her eyes widened, as she found something.
"Oh... Here's a nice job! Help wanted... Archeological digsite... 7 miles from Rosewood... Requirements... Being able to dig. Payment by the hour." - She smiled, having finished the sentence.
"That sounds nice and safe! And we could learn more about the history of this place while we're at it."
She looked at the other three, wondering if they'd take the job. Between the 5 of them, only Pal looked like she'd might object. Easy to be bravewhen you're covered in metal... - she thought to herself.

Another person joined in, with their small fluffy Digimon in tow. Apparently, they were members of KIZNA: the same squad Ophelia and Yui, and all their friends, were part of. Aleja tilted her head as she recalled that day in Whitewater when she had met them. That very day she learned what it meant for a Digimon to be, truly, a force of nature.
She stood silent as the others made their introductions. Was she supposed to say something herself, too? Definitely, she thought, but it would have had to come later. Yomi, in fact, had mentioned the voice being "in her mind", and that it didn't like it when orders weren't followed. She looked at her phone, sighing. It didn't sound like Iktomimon, for better or for worse. Her purple eyes going back up to the black Renamon, right after her comments left her with the gift of head pains, she said: "I think... I can understand." Iktomi didn't get pissy at all, just very sassy, but having a mysterious voice tell you what you should and shouldn't be doing had become the norm. For presentations, she shrugged lightly and said, for the very first time, the name she had chosen for herself: "Alétheia. You... you can call me Alétheia."
Her interest switched to the board as soon as the Renamon found a job that met her standards. Coincidentally, it was simple enough to meet Alejandra's standards as well. She smiled lightly, and went: "I can join in, too, if you don't mind." If Yomi, Pal and Kenny all agreed to it, she would have started researching where exactly the place was supposed to be. She whipped out her phone, and started writing one more text message to Iktomimon. "You know where to find this place too, right?"

While, surprise surprise, introductions went as smoothly as usual, with the Magnamon X (Pal) mentioning that she and fellow BlackRenamon, Nobuhiko, were looking for a nice paying job, and the black woman introducing herself as Alétheia, although, Nobuhiko's confusion about KIZNA was pretty justified, considering her apparent new-ish nature, "I wish; it's actually a long standing organisation in the Digital World, located in Ys in the Northern Prominence. You should pay it a visit sometimes, when you guys get the chance to, of course. Just look for the blue Trailmon." Kenny added.
Meanwhile, what hadn't escaped Skadi's radar so easily was the apparent nervous stance stemming out of Pal. Despite seemingly trying to pay no heed to it, Pal would quickly feel Skadi lightly patting her leg as the latter looked up at the mighty looking dragon knight with a sympathetic look, as she asked "Pal, are you OK? You don't look too happy."
Maybe she just had a thing with empathy.
Though what did raise a few eyebrows from Kenny and Skadi was the BlackRenamon casually mentioning she was once human. Well, sure, spirit users were a thing, but a human permanently stuck as a Digimon? It was best not to dabble on that topic, especially since said human-turned-Digimon sure did look excited about a possible job. Immediately, Kenny and Skadi followed up in turn, walking up closer to the board and glancing at where the charcoal-coated fox was looking at.
"Yeah, that does sound like a good job for all of us, honestly." A similarly interested smile emerged on Kenny's face as Skadi eagerly nodded as well, "Hell, after all the, and let's be honest here, really crazy shit we've had to endure recently, I'd be down for something as simple and easy as this. This could really get us some valuable data for KIZNA's research. And we don't have to risk being torn into a million itty bitty pieces too by some batshit crazy werebeast."
"Alright Yomi, count us in!" Skadi cheered happily. Her smile widened as Alétheia agreed to join along with them, while Kenny gave an accepting nod to her. Not only were they going to do some good for KIZNA as a whole, and not risk, but they were gonna make a whole new batch of valuable friends along the way. It was practically a win-win situation for everybody involved!

The metal dragon rubbed at her chin, mulling over the idea of having to deal with another voice in her head. She didn’t really… know how that would feel. Seeing as she was pretty straightforward as a person went. Well. As straitforward as a human killed and forced to be digimon for pretty much the remainder of her life… Lives? She still didn’t understand how this worked.
She had heard of kizna, only briefly here or there. Then again there were a few groups in the digital world that had made big strides here or there. Some fading away and some staying strong. But hearing that yomi found another job made the magnamon-x perk up. The only requirement being able to dig? She’d look down at her hands and snort; if she concentrated hard enough well… Her hands turned into the ‘head’ of a shovel!
”Well. I’m not super practiced at digging but I can at least do stuff like this. My body… well it can change shape kinda sorta. I can’t make sharp objects but stuff like this...”
Pal didn’t seem to have a problem with it, sure she wanted to fight but if the others prefer this sort of thing who was she to turn down the option to make some easier money? That and you never knew what sort of connections you’d make at a place like this!
”Well it’ll be good to have you Aletheia.”
The metal ‘monster’ rubbed at her neck and gave a small shake of her hands to force them back from the shovel to ‘normal’ hands. They were basically claws and not hands. Very much so not hands. She’d blink a bit at being addressed by skadi, being unable to really feel the smaller mon patting her leg. So it was more her words that grabbed her attention.
”Oh uh. I’m fine just sometimes have a little trouble dealing with large groups. Lots of turning you know?”
The magnamon-x patted at her head, if one looked close enough they could easily tell that there was a single pinpoint of color rather than two. Meaning that the magnamon-x only had the single eye rather than the normal two! Was it an injury or something else. But it seemed like she was using that as an excuse to cover for something else.
”...Batshitcrazy werebeast? What sort of nonsense is that?”

Yomi smiled and nodded the strange girl that introduced herself as Aletheia, briefly looking over the rest. So far, they had her, as well as Ironwoman, and the pokemon trainer with a Wooloo. At least, it was how she marked the guy inside of her head. All seemed ... friendly. And not at all likely to try and murder her for data! When Yomi first learned digimon were cannibals like that, it absolutely terrified her. She heard a chuckle inside of her head again, likely because the spirit could see and feel all of the unlikely thoughts going through her head right now.
What are you laughing at? It's a perfectly good job, without the unnecessary risks involved...
Oh, don't mind me. By all means, take it... - the voice replied, making her eyes widen.
"Somehow, I am now worried that you liked the job..." - the fox muttered to herself, before plucking the sheet with the job off of the board. It had a small map on how to reach the digsite drawn at the bottom, which should provide enough directions for reaching it. The black renamon then looked at the rest. Her motion attracted the Knightmon behind the counter.
"Managed to find a suitable quest, I see? Enough to bring wealth and glory to all four of you, I'd wager, eh?" - he chuckled, heartily.
"Uhh... it's a digsite job. Not sure how much glory is in shoveling dirt..."
"Oh! That one! Masamu has been bothering me to pin it for a while. Guess he was right about people wanting to take a shot at it after all! Well, good luck! Who knows, maybe you'll dig your way to adventure!"
Yomi smiled awkwardly at that comment, before looking at the motley group they seemed to have gathered.
"Well uh... unless you guys want to do something, we should get going and..."
*GROOOOOWL...*
A loud, growling noise echoed in the otherwise empty room. It sounded intimidating enough to make Yomi reach for her sword in a reflex, all while tucking her head into her neck, eyes scanning left, right... Then down. At her tummy. She knew where the sound came from alright. In the awkward silence that followed, the fox took a step back and hid behind Pal. If she still had a human face, she would have been blushing right now.
Come to think of it... provisions did run out a while ago...
Dammit...
