Alan marveled at the brilliant blue light show as he knelt beside Levi's legs. For all of the "kill it with fire" memes relating to spiders he had scrolled through as a kid, it was rather gratifying to see the popular phrase come to life, especially considering these spiders were rather hostile as opposed to most household arachnids whose only crimes are existing in a startling fashion. It was in the aftermath of the fanciful flurry of flames that the swarms began to do something else most unlike the common house spider: spitting painful acid at him and his comrade. Alan, remembering he was but a fragile little boy, raised his digivice arm in defense, and a second layer of shimmering force field applied itself over one which, to his surprise, was already there, as was the one creating it.
The Tamer gave Kenny a smile and got himself to his feet, preparing to move it out of harms way the moment an opening presented itself. "Thanks, pal!" chirped he, with the confidence of someone who definitely wasn't about to get his skin melted off a few moments prior.
"Lotsa shields today," observed the Flamedramon behind them. "I don't usually get to do this twice in one battle! A-hem! ブル フレア!" Levi's flames glowed blue once more as he considered his next move.
Alan uses his Light Screen to defend Levi, Kenny, and himself against Poison Rain!
Light Screen - A screen of light that protrudes from the Digivice, allowing humans a minor degree of protection. It can weather up to three Rookie attacks or one Champion attack before collapsing. It can collapse with a 3-post recharge time two times in a thread. On the third recharge, it breaks. Not for Digimon usage.
Levi uses the protection granted by his human allies to engage his Blue Flare once more!
Blue Flare - Intensifies Flamedramon’s flames, turning them blue temporarily. The first fire attack within the next two posts is approximately 1.5 times as strong. 1-post cooldown. Cooldown remaining: 1
Turns until the robots turn back on: 1

Kaya could hear hissing sounds as Hawkeye briefly returned to the humans' side. She turned towards the source, seeing a whole bunch of Kodokugumon ready to fire at the group, particularly Levi in particular. Suddenly Kenny jumped into the fray, holding out his Digivice and summoning a blinding shield of light in front of them. The young girl's eyes had widened, she finally realized who these people were, as she missed the part of them saying where they were from originally
I recognize that Digivice... I know who these two are! They're from KIZNA, just like Yuukj and Hikaru... just like Kitt! She thought as the light shield started to disappear.
Alan would then take out his own Digivice as well, summoning a Light Screen to protect them from the Acid Rain as well. In case it wasn't enough, though... "I can help too!" Kaya said, raising her own Digivice to activate a third layer with her own Light Screen. If this wasn't enough to protect them from the Acid Rain, then nothing would be. Once the earthquake started though, she would also grab onto Levi's torso to power through it as he was the closest by and tallest out of all of them.
Now that Hawkeye had evolved to his Ultimate form, a Garudamon, he should have a slightly easier time fighting against these disgusting spiders. It was clear now; multi-target attacks were the way. One-target attacks would just give the Kodokugumon enough time to scurry away. Skadi must've figured this out too as she stomped the ground, causing a mini-earthquake to occur before five massive spires shot out at the Kodokugumon swarms.
Unbelievable, Hawkeye thought as he had never seen an attack this massive in scale before. Surely an attack like that would get at least most of the Kodokugumon, but of course there would be stragglers that would escape. And for those, that was where Hawkeye would come in.
The Garudamon extended his wings outward, with multiple feathers on them beginning to glow a light green color. His glare intensified before those charged wings suddenly shot out at rapid speeds towards the Kodokugumon swarm. "Rapid Feather!" With this many energy feathers being shot at them this fast, dispersing to dodge the attack would be tricky. Hawkeye uses "Rapid Feather" on the Kodokugumon swarm.
Moves Rapid Feather (RAM Upgrade Giga): Hawkeye charges multiple feathers with green energy and fires them in front of him in rapid succession, hitting one to three enemies at a time.
Passives Deadshot (Combat Passive): Hawkeye's aim is far superior to most Digimon. Each attack has its accuracy increase by 30%, making it more likely that his attack will hit its target.

The three Light Screens from the trio of tamers would do well in protecting Levi - a bright and shining bulwark that was plenty to block the incoming Poison Rain from pelting Levi, or the adjacent humans! The Flamedramon would be free to charge up his next attack with Blue Flare, although then came the question... ... Would there even be enough enemies remaining, for Levi to scorch, after Skadi and Hawkeye were done with their own attacks? As Spiral Earthquake shook the surrounding battlefield, what leaves still clung to the branches above amidst the autumn wind would be shaken free - scattering down and around everyone present. The Kodokugumon were bewildered and disoriented from the way that the ground and trees shook and heaved, sending any rookies still clinging to the trees tumbling down, as they skittered aimlessly in bewilderment; lacking any cohesion, or any clue as to where they were going. Thus, as earthen spires came up to bash and pierce into the swarms, the spiders would be sent flying - many of them dying and dissipating into data on impact. Those that survived were reeling and weakened, surely easy prey for a certain bird of prey. And indeed, Hawkeye wasted no time in firing upon any of the stragglers in the area - a rain of feathers charged with a vivid green energy, piercing into a number of the remaining Kodokugumon, rattling and shrill cries being made in their death throes. The swarms had thinned dramatically, now - only perhaps a handful of the Kodokugumon remaining, now. This remaining handful were beginning to grow antsy, perhaps even frightened, by the clearly superior group - chittering to one another before they'd make an attempt to Silk Volley at Levi - hoping that by tangling up one of the enemies, that they could make a proper escape!
- Between Skadi's Spiral Earthquake and Hawkeye's Rapid Feather, Swarm A and B are both defeated - only Swarm C remains. - Swarm C, frightened, use Silk Volley on Levi, and appear to be attempting to escape! Move Used: [ABILITY] Silk Volley: All at once, the Kodokugumon attempt to spit spidersilk at the enemy to tangle them up, reducing their target's evasion by 50% for 2 turns! [2 Turn Cooldown] Passives Known:[NONCOMBAT PASSIVE] Swarm: This is not one singular Kodokugumon, but instead a swarm of many acting in tandem; this swarm being treated as a single digimon for simplicity's sake. Though their moveset is as though they are a rookie (plus one for Small but Many), they otherwise deal and take damage as though they are an armor ultimate (with reduced health being represented by the swarm becoming fewer and fewer in number.)
[PASSIVE; RAM] Small but Many: The individual Kodokugumon of the swarm are weak and easy to defeat, but they are quite numerous. The swarm as a whole takes less damage from single-target attacks, but they take more damage from multi-target, explosive, and AoE attacks. Cooldowns:Scatter! - 2/2 - Ready Next Turn Poison Rain - 1/2 Silk Volley - Waiting

Was this sudden crazy gambit a dumb idea on paper? Probably, But Kenny simply acted out of impulse to at least soften the blow for Levi rather than risk him ending up with a face full of toxic acid, even if he had to toss himself into the line of fire to do so. Thankfully, both Kaya and Alan would quickly chip in with their own light shields, and by the time the flow died down, either the shields would be destroyed, or heavily corroded. "Don't mention it, man." Kenny could give a weak smile back over to Alan once he pryed himself off Levi, "Rather me than your giant lizard buddy getting horribly burned alive. Besides, I'm from Australia, I'm used to this sort of crazy shit like this."Speaking of 'crazy shit', Skadi and Hawkeye's one-two punch of massive spires and feather 'darts' upon the KoDokugumon swarm would leave a massive dent upon the numbers as the Markhormon stood unfazed - apart from a simple glance towards the Garudamon with an approving smile. And by the time all the spires retreated back into the ground, she could only see a mere handful of them left, their frightened sights set on Levi. Only one thing she could do at this point, "Outta the way, Levi!"The Markhormon would quickly move over to the Flamedramon's side, before giving him a quick, light shove - leaving him to fire off whatever he had up his sleeve in peace and herself into the line of fire of the webs themselves as they splattered all over her body. Not that she'd really mind much herself, other than a simple unassuming grunt. After all, Levi's form was clearly more lightweight and flexible, compared to the Markhormon's massive girth and way slower speed in exchange for sheer bulk alone. She could afford to take the hit for her fellow teammate, especially since he had already wreathed himself in searing blue flame. Rather than go in for the offensive, she'd simply shoot a small grin over at her teammate. "Don't worry about me, I've handled worse."
Skadi uses no attack this turn. However, rather than let Levi's Blue Flare go to waste, she opts to simply shove him out of the way from KoDokugumon Swarm C's Silk Volley so they can't slow him down, letting her get webbed up by the spiders themselves. Passives:Mountaineer (Passive): Markhormon possesses a tough and well-rugged body that has survived even the harshest of winters. This in turn reduces damage from all Ice attacks by 50% and physical attacks by 30%. However, she takes 50% more damage from fire attacks.
Toxic Immunity (Passive): Markhormon’s immune system naturally prevents Skadi from suffering poison/corrosion from any attacks/passives, or suffering any ill effects from them (damage, paralysis etc). Likewise, her foamy saliva, if swallowed, or in some cases, rubbed into an affected area of a poison victim, will automatically heal the Digimon of any poison/corrosion effects they may suffer… if they’re willing to use it at all, obviously. If used on an ally, then they have up to 2 poison/corrosion effects lifted from them, and Skadi goes through a 3 turn cooldown period, where she will be no longer immune to effects from poison/corrosion until it finishes. If Skadi digivolves to this form while poisoned/corroding, then she will automatically be cured in the same post. Active Buffs/Debuffs:KoDokugumon Swarm C's Silk Volley (-50% evasion): 0/2 Cooldowns: Stonewall Barricade: 3/3 Blizzard Calling: 1/3 Spiral Earthquake: 1/3 Light Shield: 1/3 (CD), 1/3 (Uses) Cards Used (1/7):DA-03: Renamon (1/1)

The barriers of light danced before Levi's eyes, the warm embrace of protection distracting the dragon with their shine to momentarily distract him from the situation everyone was in. At moment's end, his complexion took on a small pout.
"This is touching and all, but it'd be cooler if we didn't just use our miracle-from-Hydaelyn badass friendship shield on a buncha babies."
"Cooler'n gettin' burned by a buncha babies."
"I'm sayin' it's kinda lame those were our options. Myeh."
"Heads up!" cried the Tamer as the spiders reared up for another attack, only for him to be out-warninged by a large, G.O.A.T.-like animal, blocking the icky sticky stuff before it could slightly miff its target, thus clearing the way for the Flamedramon to finish the assault, mostly!
"Alright, pal, do your thing!"
"Can't. Throat's not feeling it yet."
"Tartarus! Hold on..." Alan, then, in all his wisdom, took the time to first look up the name of the trope he was about to reference in the narration. Then, deciding it was some expansion of "Talking is a Free Action", sorted through an entire deck of his cards specifically to find the one labelled "Reload!" and scanned it. "How does your throat feel now?"
"Hot."
Levi set to work spitting his spectacle of corrosive blue flames once more, this time with some more purpose, making sure to move around and deliberately catch some of the stragglers in his fury.
Alan scans a "Reload!" Modify card, decreasing the cool down of the attack with the long name by one. Levi proceeds to use this attack, targeting whatever he can of Swarm C, empowered once more by Blue Flare.
SD-02 Card Name: Reload! Type: Modify Rank: Starter Duration: 1 Post The target Digimon immediately refreshes one post of cooldown from one of its moves.

Blue Flare - Intensifies Flamedramon’s flames, turning them blue temporarily. The first fire attack within the next two posts is approximately 1.5 times as strong. 1-post cooldown. Cooldown Remaining: 0 Ready to use!
Did You Forget To Turn Off Those Robots? - Flamedramon breathes a corrosive flame that eats away at opponents, regardless of inherent resistance to fire. 2-post cooldown. Cooldown Remaining: 2

Kaya's smile grew exponentially when the three Light Screens worked in harmony to stop the Poison Rain from hitting Levi and the three humans. They worked together to achieve a common goal, and they achieved it beyond successfully! The girl had to admit, she felt very proud of herself at this specific moment. Kenny would then mention how he was from Australia, so he was used to shit like this. "These spiders are nothing compared to what Hawkeye and I have fought before."
Skadi and Hawkeye's attacks had both been successful in clearing out most of the Kodokugumon swarm, leaving behind a few stragglers in the process who were now very afraid of the clearly superior group. The Garudamon would share an unfazed glance and smile towards the Markhormon. The remaining Kodokugumon all had their eyes set on Levi though, as they used a Silk Volley attack on him to try and slow him down. It was only because Skadi pushed Levi out of the way that she was affected by the attack instead, leaving Levi to not let his blue flames go to waste.
Feeling like the situation was sorting itself out naturally, Kaya and Hawkeye simply watched as Alan used one of his Digi-Modify cards to seemingly charge up Levi's energy before the Flamedramon breathed a blue flame at the straggler Kodokugumons, likely burning them all in the process. Hawkeye was very observant though, if there were any that tried to escape or still attempt to fight back, Hawkeye would see them and use his "Rapid Feather" attack once again to wipe them out. If any straggler Kodokugumon remain, Hawkeye uses his "Rapid Feather" move on them.

The Kodokugumon were of a simple mind.
All they knew were the instincts of a beast - simply doing what they must to survive, be it hunting prey to devour, or hiding away in the dark recesses of their lair... Or running from a fight that was far bigger than they could even comprehend, now that their numbers had thinned so much...
Scattering and chittering, the Kodokugumon would run every which way as they attempted to escape combat, and as they tried to avoid the azure flames that Levi would shortly let loose - scorching those who were too slow to avoid the dragon man's fury. No longer obscured by the formerly near-constant chitters of their brethren, tiny shrill screeches of pain and rage would make themselves known from those caught in the flames, only to be cut short when the Kodokugumon caught in the blazes finally broke away into data...
And though there were a handful of remaining stragglers, Hawkeye was quick to pick them off with Rapid Feather; and like balloons popped by darts, the Kodokugumon struck would disipate one by one...
... All until only perhaps the last two or three survivors - badly injured yet survivors nonetheless - would slip away into the forest, likely to be never seen again...
... All was still, save for the light smouldering and smoking that Levi's flames briefly left behind. All was quiet, save for the distant pained groans of those further within the spiders' den. All was calm, save for the beating hearts of those who lived yet...
... What would the group's next steps be?
- Combat end, y'all win =w=

The end results were messy, if not surprising.
Not only would Levi's flames eat away at most of the stragglers attempting to flee, Hawkeye would finish with his own coup de gras onto the last surviving members of the swarm, leaving the Markhormon to merely give a solitary grunt as she watched the small scale carnage unfold, sheathing her greatsword, before casually picking and tearing off the webbing now splattered all over her body.
A sense of eerie relief washed over Kenny's body as he glanced at the smouldering remains of the battlefield, "That was... surprisingly easy."
"Maybe a little too easy, if you ask me." Skadi would mutter in return, brushing off more of the web, "I have a bad feeling that Archnemon sent those KoDokugumon out at us to die, just so she can either force us to waste our energy fighting them, see what we're capable of so she can potentially counter whatever she throws at us later, or simply overwhelming us to the point of exhaustion just so she can come in for the kill."
"For all we know, she could be spawning more of them right now, just to replace her lost minions, so she doesn't have to lift a finger to weaken us to the point of exhaustion." Now she was wringing out the last of the goopy poison out of her chest fur and onto the floor, "Credit where credit is due, if that's true, than I must at least admit she's a pretty clever mass murderer."
"You're telling me," Kenny was never one to shy away from dark humour, especially in a situation like this, "If I was an evil supervillain, I'd at least take the time to ensure I could create and replace my minions en masse just so I could exhaust the heroes to the point where I could just waltz in and kill them instantly."
The jury was still out on whenever Kenny would actually make for a good supervillain.
For now, the young man could feel his stomach churn as he turned towards the distant groaning dead ahead. Like it or not, they were getting closer to the heart of the forest, and in turn, Archnemon's lair. He'd pause for a moment before turning to the rest of the group, "Shall we keep moving?"
After all, it was too late to turn back now.

Levi kept watch over horizon to ensure the remaining stragglers were slipping away into the forest, and not back into the cave.
"Aaaaand they're gone." He stuck his claws on his hips and continued to scan the area with less tension in his stance. "Can't say I feel any kind of sense of security right now, much less a false one. We're clearly only gonna be facing stronger enemies than children from here on. You're right on one thing, though, and that's that if someone here really cared about the young'uns, they'd have stationed, say, at least two fully-grown guards at the entrance."
"We don't know how feral digimon think. Maybe it's a 'tough love' thing. Nudge the baby out of the nest and hope they fly." Alan stood from his crouching position by Levi's side and dusted himself off. "I take no pleasure in fighting children, but here's hoping they might find some more well-mannered parents this time."
The two nodded, agreeing that they should press on.
"Anyway, we've cleared the front porch; let's go on ahead to the 'parlour'. Traps or no traps, we can safely bet on being attacked. Keep the way lit as best as possible with what we have. I'd rather make our presence known than risk not knowing theirs."

Post by Kaya Matsui and Hawkeye on May 27, 2021 2:44:59 GMT
"Okay... they're gone now..." Kaya said with a sigh of relief once Hawkeye had managed to get rid of the last of the stragglers with his Rapid Feather attack. The last two or three surviving Kodokugumon were smart enough to run away at least, knowing that they could not handle these three powerful human and Digimon pairs with their current numbers. It was calm now, finally... and they hadn't even entered the main tunnel yet.
Hawkeye looked over at Skadi as she mentioned this encounter being a bit too easy. She said she had a feeling that the Archenmon just sent those Kodokugumon to the group to die, for various reasons that could all make sense. Hawkeye decided to throw in his own two cents. "I wouldn't necessarily call protecting our humans a waste of energy, especially from their acidic attacks. And if she wanted to tire us out, why not send something that was less easy to deal with? But I do see your point in her wanting to see what we're capable of. And yes, she could easily be producing more of those things at this very moment."
Alan suggested that maybe that was just how feral Digimon think, on the topic of sending their young at the group, perhaps a form of tough love. Kaya stepped forward and shook her head, her arms crossed and her eyes shifting to a pinkish red for a second. "I know love. That wasn't any form of love I recognize. No one who truly loves their children would just send them out to die like that."
"So if that's what she plans on doing, tiring us out with masses of Kodukugumon, what would be the best plan of action? Ignoring them and focusing on Archenmon? I doubt that would be possible, depending on the amount of servants she has."
So, do they move forward? Well, they don't really have any other option, do they? Hawkeye would pick Kaya up, letting her sit on his left shoulder before he would move forward with the others. "Stay close to me, Kaya. I don't know what will happen, and I especially don't know what I'd do if something happened to you in there."

A sense of tension and unease was palpable amongst the group as they headed into the tunnel - if these Kodokugumon swarms were only the start of things, then what was next...? More of them, scurrying and skittering upon every surface that surrounded them in all ways but forward or backwards? Or something bigger, something worse...? It was hard to say yet just how much of the group's worries were founded or not - but to turn back now would mean abandoning the mission, which meant abandoning the captives within to their likely grisly fates, as well as abandoning the forest to the terror that these digimon seemed to hold over it... ... And thus, the only way to proceed was to move forward. Forward, through the darkened tunnels - the abnormally twisted and knotted branches and boughs of the trees that formed the tunnels blotting out all light but that which the group could provide themselves. And from the looks of things, the trek would be... Suspiciously safe. No Dokugumon or other such threats to be found - at most, one might see a lingering straggler Kodokugumon that would be lingering on the tunnel walls or floor until the shining lights startled it, prompting it to hiss like a frightened cat and skitter away. That, or they might see a flicker of something out of the corner of their eye - those tiny black shapes, darting in and out of view too quickly for one to make heads or tails of what these black shapes were. But they way they moved, well, was certainly spiderlike in nature. And even if the individual movements seemed erratic and unpredictable, the shapes as a whole were flowing in the same direction as the group was - towards the dome. The only exception for this being when the shapes would occasionally scurry across the surface of someone's skin, or someone's wool, or another's scales, or yet another's feathers - the occasional sting of a bite being felt about every other time this happened. This sting, however, would quickly fade into a brief numbness - a numbness that would then fade along with the sting of the initial bite, just a quickly as it came. It seemed that whatever these insects were, their individual bites were about as bad as a mosquito's - only leaving itchy red welts in their wake, once the stinging and numbness faded. The dome was still the more important goal here, the dome whose presence was heralded by a dim golden light of the evening at the end of the tunnel, as well as the sounds of skittering, hissing, leaves and twigs crunching underfoot... And the distant groans, that were only growing louder as the group came closer. Closer and closer to the other end of the tunnel, with seemingly no impediments... But perhaps one would rather there be an actual fight, than what was actually beyond the tunnel's end. (THESE NEXT PARAGRAPHS, AND THE NEXT ENSUING FIGHTS, ARE WHAT THE TRIGGER WARNINGS WERE PRIMARILY FOR. PLEASE GO NO FURTHER IF SPIDERS/INSECTS, PARASITES, DIGIMON GETTING NOMMED, AND/OR PARALYZATION WOULD BE DISTURBING CONTENT FOR YOU. YOU HAVE BEEN WARMED)Strung up and stuck to the inner walls of the dome with copious amounts of spider silk, were the bodies of a number of digimon. Digimon who were in varying states - many of whom appearing to be unconscious or otherwise comatose, or even catatonic; though not dead. Most people here would likely know that a digimon's body broke down when they died, after all.
But those who were awake, and aware, stared ahead unblinkingly - strangled and weak groans of pain and despair rising from their throats, as well as soft gasps through mouths that hung open like fish. Some appeared emaciated, as if they had been starving for weeks. Some appeared somewhat bloated, on the other hand. Was that something squirming along underneath one of the captive's throats, just beneath the surface texture data...?
To the group's immediate right as they entered, they would see a Filmon, bound to the wall just the same as the other captives here. The beast digimon appeared to be awake and aware, as their eyes cast towards the group; and they would take in a long, wet, and raspy inhale - as if even breathing was a painful struggle for them. Briefly, their voice would rise in and unintelligible wheeze and gasp, as if they were trying oh-so-desperately to say something to the group, - but...
... Before they could get a single word out, their body would suddenly convulse, a sharp gagging and hurking noise rising from their throat as they began to struggle to cough up and disgorge something. A something that turned out to be black masses of something that twitched in an unnatural and disturbing fashion, before it suddenly broke up into individuals - the tiny black shapes that had been haunting this forest, and the lair.
The spiderlike things would begin to scatter every which way, as the Filmon's rasping coughs would soon return to the unintelligible wheezing and gasping of before. But if one were to listen closely enough, and were able to ignore the way that a few of those lingering tiny insects seemed to take no qualms in crawling in and out of any orifice on the beast digimon's body, well... They'd hear something. Soft, whispered, but urgent...
... "run..."
Run. A desperate plea to save yourselves, from the fate you were sure to share in if you failed here. But before any decisions could be made on what the next action would be, well... A cackling would make itself known, towards the center of the dome.
"Eeeeheheheheheheeee! Ohhhh, welcome little prey - isn't this such a beautiful sight?"
There, stood Arukenimon - the only seemingly intelligent digimon present amongst the spiders. She grinned wide and unsettlingly, seemingly oblivious (or perhaps even accepting,) of the black insects that scurried across her body, across her eyes, in and out of orifices like the ears and nose.... Even as she opened her mouth to speak, occasionally a few insects would either slip out or escape from her maw, to little notice from her. "This gift of mine has done well in subduing so much prey for my children - and in return, they are given plenty of warm bodies to feed upon... Isn't it beautiful, the symbiotic relationship we have?"
Two large Dokugumon would come up to either side of her, descending from the ceiling above; and if one were to look up, they'd see where numbers of smaller Dokugumon and Kodokugumon were clinging to the upper walls and ceiling of the dome. They would be staring down at the group, watching, hungry - but took no action otherwise. It's likely these smaller, younger, digimon would not interfere in the coming fight against what appeared to be the leader, with the two large Dokugumon perhaps acting as a couple of broodparents, or 'elite guard'.
"This is the first time you morsels have come so close to the lair... But no matter, that simply means less trouble in tracking down the prey, no?" Arukenimon hummed, before cackling briefly once more. "Eeehahahahehehehe! Come quietly little things - you delicious little morsels won't feel a thing, if you submit now..."
... ... It was hard to believe such, when one looked at the victims here, strung up and gasping like fish on land. To submit, or to lose, would mean quite the horrid fate for sure.
Which then raised the question - what, exactly, would the group do?

Post by Kenny O'Hara and Skadi on May 28, 2021 6:42:42 GMT
"Look, Kaya," Kenny merely gave a shrug as the group ventured deeper into the forest, "That's nature for you. And frankly, I'm not surprised a giant spider monster would do shit like that. Female spiders back home eat their mates all the time, and it's actually not uncommon to see the parents eat their young for their own survival because nature.""If anything, at least they went down fighting." Skadi snarked, casually tapping her sword over her shoulder, "Rather that than have my own mum eat me alive. Now that'd be a nasty way to go." With a light chuckle as she completely sheathed the great sword, they and the rest of the group would venture deeper inside. That brief bit of levity would at least be enough to keep her spirits up.
Apart from the brief bites coming from whoever or whatever (resulting in either Kenny muttering "Shit" and/or Skadi letting out a brief grunt of annoyance before either of them would take the time to brush them off as soon as they could), the journey would be a rather uneventful affair as they made their way deeper into the tunnel. The Markhormon's eyes would rapidly dart in every single direction, scanning for whatever batch of KoDokugumon lay ahead. Thankfully for both sides, neither were willing to put up a fight against one another, and even the most aggressive of hisses would be met with a barely audible snort. Only when they nearly reached the end would Skadi's ears twitch once more to a rather particular sound; the noises of seemingly dying Digimon practically rattled through her body. Kenny's stomach, too, would start to turn as well from within, forcing themselves to look at the sights of all the trapped Digimon dying a slow and painful death. And of course, he had to turn his head at just the 'right' time just to see the Filmon spitting out from their mouth... Well, only God, Buddha and Arceus knew what. "Don't worry. We'll get you out of here as soon as possible." A light quiver could be heard from Kenny's otherwise hopeful words to them, "We're from KIZNA. Just work with us, and we'll get to you and your friends as soon as we can..."Oh. That laughter. Oh, how Skadi already brought herself to hate that laughter. Before the Archnemon could bring herself to finish her second sentence, the Markhormon had already unsheathed her sword, and was now grasping the handle as hard as she could as pure, unadulterated hate practically glistened in her eyes for all to see. Not even the bugs slipping out of that bitch's mouth was enough to break her gaze away from her. She knew what she was doing. She let these Digimon die slowly and painfully for all to see. And all it did was make Skadi tighten her grip even more. No talk, no encouragement to free the trapped Digimon, not even a shred of willpower to even muster up the energy to do the usual 'we don't want to fight you' spiel. Rather, the more the Archnemon spoke, the heavier her breathing got, and the more she started to grit her teeth. For a few moments after the Archnemon's brief, haunting spiel, Kenny found himself gazing up at his partner with worry in his eyes. She stood there like a timebomb waiting to explode at any moment, yet Kenny merely dared himself to touch his partner's hand, "Skadi...?"No effect. The Markhormon would simply brush her tamer off to the side without another word as outright anger spread throughout her entire body. Until... "Feel this, you slimy bastard!" Skadi practically spat her words out as she practically charged dead ahead at the Archnemon, the cool blue frost coating the business end as she aimed to outright ram her sword right into the Perfect-level's forehead. Had it hit, the Archnemon would find herself at the brunt of what felt like a massive snowstorm, as the great sword practically 'exploded' into a sub-zero geyser, the sheer force enough to send her adversary flying from the pressure alone. Needless to say, any willingness to talk to a wilful mass murderer was off the table now.
Fuelled by her disgust at the Archnemon's actions alone, Skadi goes for a flat-out face full of Snowstorm Geyser, aimed squarely at the Archnemon's face. Snowstorm Geyser (RAM Upgrade): Skadi rams her sword, coated in the familiar icy aura, into the ground. Underneath the opponent’s feet (in a 100m radius), a giant geyser of ice and snow erupts, inflicting powerful ice damage and potentially launching them into the air in the process from the pressure alone. This attack can also strike flying Digimon as well. (If there are more than one opponent, Skadi can select who gets hit by this attack, giving it a bit of an element of surprise). If Skadi rams her sword into the opponent instead, then they take the same full blast directly to their body, producing the same effect as before, but instead launching the in the direction opposite of where she strikes them. (2 post cooldown) Passives:Mountaineer (Passive): Markhormon possesses a tough and well-rugged body that has survived even the harshest of winters.
Active Buffs/Debuffs:N/A Cooldowns: Snowstorm Geyser: 0/2 Light Shield: 1/3 (Uses)

If any of the tiny bugs were biting on Alan's skin, chances are he figured it was his own imagination, and slapped the affected area just in case. The cushioning of his layers of clothing would likely not be enough to smash whatever miniscule being could make its way under there without detection. He kept a watch over Levi's bare scales for the nasty things too, like a good friend.
Without any obstacles, the group had reached what was presumably the center of the entire den. The pair were surprised - they had assumed there would be an entire dungeon leading here, a perfect place to get lost. It would have been scarier for sure. These spiders must see themselves as the final bosses, they thought. Bravado was the true sin here, and definitely not all of these murders, kidnappings, and torture.
The sight of the tormented captives was a horrifying sight for certain, but for once, Alan had to thank his overactive imagination for always imagining the worst possible scenario, as this was most certainly close. These digimon were not only in constant physical and emotional pain, but were also forced to watch as more and more digimon were brought in to meet the same fate, over and over. The capabilities of Arukenimon's "gift" were yet to be seen - this would no doubt be a challenging battle. But for the sake of rescuing the captives, or at the very least ensuring no more would fall victim to this villain, the team would pull through.
"It's a beautiful sight, to be sure," replied Alan, putting on his 'undeterred hero' face, and activating his digivice so Levi could digivolve, "in that viscerally-disturbing Discovery Channel way."
By the time Levi had finished his transformation into a shining, skimpily-dressed soldier of justice, Skadi's battle cry had already rung out. He shared her hatred towards Arukenimon, but he needed to focus, even if it meant remaining silent. All of these "morsels" were painfully aware that their lives were on the line.
While the large fluffy digimon was engaging Arukenimon, the scaly knight decided he'd start working on the spiders that appeared to be her bodyguards. He flew up a short distance into the air for a good shot at the center of the floor, and raised his open right hand, taking aim using his left hand and looking down his right middle claw like a gun's sight. A bright beam of light charged up, and with a quick flick of his arm, fired a searing hot laser from left to right, burning into the ground below the two Dokugumon guarding their mother. Not long after, the real attack happened, causing the smoldering burn marks to blow up anything standing directly on top of them.
Levi digivolves from Flamedramon to Magnamon, then uses Line in the Sand to attack both Dokugumon bodyguards.
Line in the Sand - Magnamon quickly draws a glowing curved line in a wide arc on the ground in front of him using a large laser. Moments later, the line explodes, damaging anyone who was standing on top of it. 3-post cooldown. Posts remaining: 3

Post by Kaya Matsui and Hawkeye on Jun 16, 2021 20:58:16 GMT
Kaya held on tight to Hawkeye as he walked with the group deeper into the cave. The overall sense of tension and fear was now starting to get to her, her grip on Hawkeye's feathers tightening and the giant bird man starting to feel Kaya start shivering presumably out of fear. Despite all of this however, she kept her gaze forward, acting as if she wasn't being bothered by this situation at all. "Kaya... are you scared?" Hawkeye politely asked.
"No... no, of course not," Kaya lied. "This is all okay... I'm not scared at all."
"Well... that makes one of us then," Hawkeye responded, not afraid to admit that he was afraid. "But I can soldier through rega- augh!" That was when the Garudamon felt a sting sensation on his right arm before it went numb and faded away. He raised his arm and looked at the spot where the stinging started, a red spot now present. "One of these dumb things bit me..."
"It doesn't look any worse than a mosquito bite, at least."
"Let's hope that's all it is... I don't exactly feel keen on it being something other than that." Hawkeye also wasn't fond of these creepy crawlies scurrying across his feathers the way they were doing right now, as he would now attempt to brush off anything he thought he felt walking along him.
The group continued to walk towards the location of the dome, its location being indicated by a dim light at the end of the tunnel. More sounds could be heard as they got closer... twigs breaking, hissing, and groaning... They reached the end of the tunnel, and...
"Oh my god...!"
Kaya blurted as she covered her mouth in sheer horror. Stuck to the inner walls by spider silk were various Digimon who were either unconscious or comatose, and those who were still awake kept groaning, groans of despair coming from their throats, and some even had their mouths forcefully hung open like a fish. Some were seemingly starving, and others were bloated. No matter where Kaya or Hawkeye looked there was some grotesque view to be afraid of.
"Homeostasis..."
To their right they could hear an attempt at inhaling, though it seemed very raspy and hoarse. They turned to see a Filmon bound to the wall like everyone else. It seemed like they were trying to say something, but then suddenly their body began convulsing and the Filmon was gagging, and they coughed up black masses of something that unnervingly twitched and broke up into many individuals that scurried off elsewhere. "I think I'm going to be sick."
"Why... why is this happening... this is so cruel..." Kaya cried in a hoarse voice herself, scared and appalled by what she had just witnessed. The Filmon continued making sounds, whispering something that sounded like... "run." But before any other action could be made, a cackling laughter was now heard, coming from the center of the dome. Kaya and Hawkeye turned around to see none other than an an Arukenimon facing them down, black insects crawling all around her without a care in the world. She called whatever the hell she was doing to these Digimon a gift. "Gift... how... how could you even say that, you monster!" Kaya yelled. She and Hawkeye were both feeling those same raging emotions that Skadi was feeling right now.
Skadi wasted no time flying forward, using her Snowstorm Geyser move to attack Arukenimon directly, the sheer force of the attack definitely sending her up into the air if it hit. Assuming it did hit and Arukenimon was sent flying upwards, Hawkeye would have his own attack for Arukenimon. His feathers caught fire before he shot a fiery bird aura right at the disgusting spider Digimon. "Shadow Wing!" Hawkeye uses "Shadow Wing" on Arukenimon.
Moves Shadow Wing: Hawkeye's feathers glow with fire energy before he fires a flaming bird-shaped aura projection that soars right at an enemy. Cooldown is two posts.
Passives Deadshot (Combat Passive): Hawkeye's aim is far superior to most Digimon. Each attack has its accuracy increase by 30%, making it more likely that his attack will hit its target.

As the group's rage and horror grew, Arukenimon only grinned wider - hunkering down low and at the ready. "I suppose it's to be expected, that prey such as yourself can't appreciate a predator's tactics, when you're about to be swallowed up." The spider lady mused with a sigh, even as her manic expression remained. "Just keep struggling for us, then, won't you? Tighten that noose, tangle yourself further - this many strong digimon will be a feast for my children either way, ehehehehehahahaha!"As she broke out into a cackle, Arukenimon would be quick to leap back and away from Skadi's strike - the burst of a blizzard's force freezing and covering what little foliage still covered the ground in front of the warrioress. Despite appearances - the lower spider body being in proportion to the large Dokugumon to either side of her - it seemed that the spider woman was far more nimble than her size might imply! Skadi's reckless charge, however, meant that she was awfully close to the two Dokugumon that had been standing to either side of where Arukenimon was but a second ago. The hungering beasts would waste no time in attempting to advance on the closest prey they could see - the Markhormon - maws drooling with acidic poisons that melted away at the aforementioned sparse greenery... ... Only for the surrounding area to be lit up with bright explosions, from Levi's Line in the Sand! The Dokugumon were certainly struck, shrill screeches and hisses of pain escaping the beasts as they stumbled backwards, briefly blinded and disoriented by the bright flashes in what was otherwise a dim and darkened environment. The only issue here, would be that Skadi was sure to be caught in the crossfire, if she didn't get out of the way in time; what would she do? Meanwhile, though, there was still the question of the Arukenimon. She was quick, she was nimble - but that only meant so much, against a deadshot. Hawkeye would be able to lead the shot perfectly in time with the arachnid woman's leap - and being that she was at the mercy of inertia, there wasn't much that she could do to stop the flames from washing over her besides brace for impact! What few of those black insects that were unlucky enough to be outside of her body at the time would perish on impact, ash smudging against her skin and carapace and sprinkling down in tiny amounts; and her hair and skin, too, seemed similarly scorched. Yet, that manic grin maintained; Arukenimon cackling as she darted forward, and attempted to grapple at Skadi! "Oh, such fiesty things! You'll make our children grow so large and strong...!" She'd cackle as she tried to grab at the Markhormon by the horns and - if successful - would begin to shove her downwards, towards her arachnid abdomen. "Hold still, little thing!" At first, the reasoning behind this would not be obvious, but well... That was when her lower body would open up into a large secondary mouth - full of razor-sharp teeth, and also a number of those black insects..! If Skadi wasn't able to pull away, she'd be shoved straight into that Horrific Maw, as Arukenimon attempted to bite down on her - the insects wasting no time in feasting on the caprine digimon's vitality all the whilst! By now, the Dokugumon would begin to regain awareness of their surroundings - and near immediately, they'd begin looking for prey to devour. Given that their master was keeping Skadi preoccupied though, the Dokugumon would instead turn their attentions to Levi and Hawkeye both. First, would be the Dokugumon targeting Hawkeye. Given that he was low to the ground, the arachnid beast wasted no time in charging the Garudamon and - upon coming close - leaping at him, as if anticipating him to try flying away! Were the Dokugumon able to catch Hawkeye, it would immediately begin grappling at him, and attempting to rip at the avian man with a Hungering Bite - swallowing down any data it was able to tear away from his body! Meanwhilst, the Dokugumon targeting Levi wouldn't be able to use the exact same tactics, given that the Magnamon was up in the air. With this in mind, the feral arachnid would instead open its maw, and let loose a Poison Deluge at him, aiming to melt away at him with its acidic poison! How would the group handle the onslaught of attacks?
- Arukenimon manages to dodge away from Skadi's Snowstorm Geyser, but is struck by Hawkeye's Shadow Wing - Both Dokugumon are struck by Levi's Line in the Sand; however, Skadi risks being caught in the crossfire as well if she is unable to dodge! - Once the attacks resolve, Arukenimon attempts to grapple Skadi, and attack her with Horrific Maw - Dokugumon A, meanwhile, pounces on Hawkeye with a Hungering Bite - and Dokugumon B goes after Levi with a Poison Deluge! Arukenimon (Targeting Skadi w/ Horrific Maw)Move Used: [ATTACK] Horrific Maw: Arukenimon's lower body opens up to reveal a secondary mouth - full of sharp teeth, and the insects that call her body home. Using this, she attempts to grapple and bite down on the enemy, as the insects within bite and drain life from their host's victim as well! Heals Arukenimon for a portion of the damage dealt.
