So far, neither side seemed too willing to budge in the other direction; Skadi's gambit to buy time for the other two while transforming herself into a flat-out stone wall behemoth ensured that Levi and Hawkeye could get through a lot of the battle unscathed, yet Archnemon herself and her own cronies showed no signs of slowing down at any point whatsoever.
If it was any consolation for Skadi, the mere scratch damage seemingly left on Archnemon would be more than made up for it by Levi and Hawkeye's one-two combo punch dealing a good amount of damage in return. And a cocky grin would emerge on the Markhormon's face. That fool didn't even know what hit her at this point! She totally fell for it! She let her own guard down!
Turning her head towards the two hissing Dokugumon pair, she'd clench her fist and tighten her grip on the handle of her greatsword as she silently anticipated their next moves, silently daring them to fire at her as she quietly tore off the now-loose silk on her body. And surely enough, as one had now fired another volley of sharpened silk at her, as another would lunge towards her, a familiar veil of frost would start to coat her entire frame.
Quickly, Skadi would move to a quick step to the side, the silk tauntingly slicing dangerously close to her - only to find the leaping Dokugumon land squarely upon her shell-protected body. And if B thought it had problems trying to chew through the shell towards the flesh, clearly, it would be very lucky compared to A.
Now it had to contend with yet another layer of defence; rock solid permafrost over the Markhormon's already tough as nails frame.
Yes, she had tapped into one of her signature abilities once again, and now her signature Frostcloak now coated her entire body, large chunks of ice sticking out all over her body, even freezing over the now-expiring draconic wings. And now, Dokugumon A would find that it's bite had been reduced to what felt like mere nibbles at best upon the Markhormon's body. Her defences had skyrocketed like crazy, and she wasn't going to make this easy for them at all.
With a casual snarl, she'd reach around and pry the Dokugumon A off her back, before glancing at Archnemon again... and then at Levi.
He'd know what to do with it.
"Levi! Catch!" Once again pulling her Dokugumon-holding arm back, she'd let out another long throw towards the Magnamon with a knowing glance. Perhaps had Levi caught on to what she intended for him to do with it, he'd be able to deal some nasty damage to it's defenceless form in mid-air, all things considered...
That would be the least of their problems though...
Skadi couldn't have turned her gaze back towards Archnemon at possibly the worst time. Even her hardened composure started to crumble, her stomach churning in a mix of horror and disgust as she found herself wincing at Dokugumon B's gruesome fate, turning her head away and trying - and failing - to avert her eyes at the sight in front of her.
Kenny, too, would not have an easy time of it either, his mouth frozen agape in shock at the sheer unfiltered brutality as the giant spider monster tore through her 'meal'. His legs and arms would shake like crazy as he forced himself to stand, leaning against the wall. Yet he couldn't look away either. And words would utterly fail him. "Whathefuckwhathefuckwhathefuck..." would be the only words he could actually bring himself to say.
For a good few moments, Skadi stood frozen in place, unsure on what to say or do. Yet the hostages trapped up inside would indirectly remind her why they were here in the first place; they come this far. They survived the swarm. And they survived all the horrors facing them up to now. She wasn't going to quit. No. She had to fight. And win. For their sake.
No, they had to win.
Loud stomps would echo around the room, but instead of giant spike walls or pillars emerging, they were just ordinary, harmless, but loud, angry, and possibly attention grabbing, stomps. "Hey, tall, dumb and ugly!" She taunted the mad matriarch in an aggressive tone of voice, "You think you're so good, eating one of your 'allies' alive? Are you really that weak, having to kill one of your own just to make yourself stronger? You disgust me! Honestly! Are you really that weak? Is that really the best you got?"
Bold taunts, coming from her. But she couldn't afford to drop the momentum now. Keep her distracted, and tank the hits, and Levi and Hawkeye could pile on the damage gradually until she died. And with minimal damage, to boot. The taunting glimpse in her eye dared Archnemon to do her worse to her and her alone.
She'd gladly take that sacrifice if it meant the others were saved.
Skadi sidesteps Dokugumon B's Silk Shredder, but, just before she gets attacked by Dokugumon A's Hungering Bite, she activates Frostcloak to push her defences to disgusting degrees, ensuring that attack does way less damage, thanks to her Mollusk Shell and the Mountaineer passive stacking alongside it. As soon as she retaliates by long throwing A towards Levi, hoping he can use something to attack it while it's defenceless, she continues to dare Archnemon to keep facing her instead of attacking him and/or Hawkeye.
Frostcloak (RAM Upgrade GIGA): Skadi freezes over her body to create herself an additional set of armour, giving herself additional defence from her opponents. This ability automatically bumps up all her defences up by 30%, and prevents her from being affected from any debuffs from anything the opponent may have for 3 posts. (3 post cooldown)
