Post by Kenny O'Hara and Skadi on Jun 17, 2021 4:22:18 GMT
So blinded she was in her rage, she found herself plunging her sword into the earth below, missing her target by a good margin. Letting out an angry snort, she'd merely pull it out without much trouble and stepped back with a piercing glare at her target - inadvertently barely avoiding Levi's sweeping, and exploding, laser beams by a thin margin blasting at the Dokugumon.
Despite Hawkeye's flaming shot hitting Archnemon, she merely seemingly shrugged off the strike, and came charging dead ahead at Skadi herself.
"Wha-" Before she could even react, she could feel her cold, clammy hands against her horns, pulling her down towards her massive abdomen, it's mouth practically swarming with bugs alongside it's sharklike teeth. No matter how hard she fought, pulling and jerking her head back in a bid to force off her grip, she seemingly barely budged. All she could do now, as the maw drew closer towards her, was to lock her eyes against the Archnemon and snarl at her.
"Make me."
Suddenly, a massive, ear piercing stomp would rock the room, as the familiar, yet no less dangerous, rock wall of spikes would emerge from the earth below, separating not just her, but also Levi, Hawkeye, and the humans, from the Archnemon and her cronies, with a gap just wide enough at the top for her allies to fly through, if they so wished. Being dangerously close to her, the Archnemon ran the risk of skewering herself upon the spikes protruding in front of her hadn't she backed off in time.
Regardless, the sudden appearance of the barrier separating the two ensured that the Archnemon would be forced to let go of her horns as soon as she possibly could. As an additional consequence, however, Levi and Hawkeye would, too, find themselves protected from the Dokugumons' attacks; the sickly acid would merely splatter against the barrier like a haphazardly tossed bucket of paint, and drip down onto the floor below, while the one literally launching itself at Hawkeye now found itself facing a lot of massive, uneven, spikes, ready to skewer it as well if it was unlucky.
All the while, Kenny could only stand back and watch the sheer possible carnage going on. Biting his lip, he quietly pulled out a card and swiped it through the D-Nexus, his arms trembling like jelly all the while, "Well, here goes nothing."
On cue, a BladeKuwagamon the size of his hand would materialize out of thin air right next to him, simply hovering in place. Up until Kenny gave his command to it, "You, go annoy Archnemon and her pals." He mouthed.
With that, the BladeKuwagamon would fly off, first to cross the Levi-and-Hawkeye-friendly gap, and into Archnemon's domain. It circled the air for a brief moment above massive spider Digimon, before going for a divebomb, aiming to slice through the abdomen of the Levi-oriented Dokugumon, followed by rushing itself towards Archnemon herself, aiming to slash and slice her own massive abdomen on the side for as long as it possibly could.
The Dokugumon potentially splattered across the spikey wall could wait.
Rather than just let herself be subjected to Archnemon's Horrific Maw, Skadi instead summons her Stonewall Barricade again, this time to protect herself and force Archnemon to let go of her horns (and possibly accidentally damage her maw against the spikes by mistake), and, in turn, also protecting Levi and Hawkeye from getting hit by Dokugumon A and B's Hungering Bite and Poison Deluge, respectively (and potentially getting Dokugumon A itself impaled onto the spikes).
Meanwhile, Kenny swipes JT-25: Kuwaga Blade, to summon a BladeKuwagamon drone to join the battle to buy time for the rest; aiming to cleanly slice through Dokugumon B's abdomen before going onto the offensive onto Archnemon's.
Stonewall Barricade (RAM Upgrade): Skadi stomps the ground, sending up a surrounding circular wall full of giant spires with spikes lined on the front to protect her and up to 2 allies near her (within a 50 meter radius) for a post. This can withstand up to 3 Ultimate attacks (that's around 6 Champion level attacks) before breaking, while Rookie and below do no damage and 1 Mega attack is enough break the wall, but have their damage slashed in half. Anyone making physical contact with the wall suffers 20% damage of what their attack would’ve inflicted. (3 post cooldown)

Post by Kaya Matsui and Hawkeye on Jul 9, 2021 2:55:13 GMT
All Kaya and Hawkeye could do was grit their teeth in anger and frustration as they listened to the Arukenimon speak to them. It seemed that attacking her won't be that easy either, as she had just completely dodged out of the way of Skadi's blizzard attack, and if it hadn't been for Levi's attack striking the Dokugumons, she would've been attacked by them as well. She only barely managed to avoid Levi's attack herself though, which was far too much of a close call. And it was only because of the inertia of her jump that Arukenimon got hit by Hawkeye's "Shadow Wing" attack.
Can't handle the heat, huh, you arachnid witch? Hawkeye thought with a grin. That grin disappeared when he saw that Arukenimon was still cackling like someone who had gone mad, jumping after Skadi and trying to force her head towards her abdomen. Upon closer inspection, Hawkeye's eyes widened when he saw a secondary mouth there, filled with razor sharp teeth and even more of those black insects. "Oh no..."
"Skadi...!" Kaya gasped, wishing desperately that she could help somehow! Although it would soon be clear that Skadi didn't need the help. Hawkeye was more focused on the Dokugumon that was about to pounce on him, but all of a sudden the earth below started shaking and rock spikes shot out of the ground, separating the group from Arukenimon and her minions, with the spikes below Hawkeye's Dokugumon opponent potentially even impaling it! "Well... that takes care of that for now, it seems..." Kaya and Hawkeye would look up, seeing a gap wide enough between the rock spikes to fly through. They watched as Kenny used his D-Nexus to summon a pocket-sized BladeKuwagamon to go in and potentially attack Arukenimon and her goons.
"Maybe restricting her movement will help," Hawkeye concluded before he flew through the friendly gap. One of his feathers would charge a dark green color before he shot it out at a quick speed, aiming right next to Arukenimon. The spider Digimon might think to dodge out of the way like before, but even if she does or doesn't, that won't stop the vines from shooting out of the ground instantaneously and wrapping around her, ensnaring and restraining her movements for the time being, allowing both Skadi and Levi to hopefully be able to get some solid shots in on her. Saved from Dokugumon A by Skadi, Hawkeye uses "Green Feather" on Arukenimon to ensnare her.
Moves Green Feather: Hawkeye charges feathers with dark green energy before shooting them into the ground. Almost instantly vines would shoot out of where the feathers landed, ensnaring the enemy. Cooldown is two posts.
Passives Deadshot (Combat Passive): Hawkeye's aim is far superior to most Digimon. Each attack has its accuracy increase by 30%, making it more likely that his attack will hit its target.

((Just a small OOC note that I'll be continuing the mission on this account instead of Andrei's, since Andrei has been retired.))Arukenimon, initially, seemed as though she had the advantage in the grapple; pulling Skadi's head down bit by bit, ready to bite down onto the poor Markhormon with that unnatural maw of hers and let her insects drain her dry. What would her prey taste like, Arukenimon wondered? How much would her prey shout and squirm? She was already salivating from the sheer thought of it all - a digimon that could digivolve this high would feed her children well, allow them to grow big and strong... ... But that was only if she'd actually be able to land her attack on Skadi; the Markhormon already having a plan for getting herself out of this pickle. As the rock walls rose up around Skadi and her allies, Arukenimon would - indeed - be forced back, the sharp spikes scraping and grazing against her as she stumbled back and away with a low hiss of discomfort and pain. Yet, she continued to grin, even if the others couldn't necessarily see it. Feisty indeed, so lively and full of energy... Energy that she desired to drain away, down to nothing... Meanwhile, there would be the two Dokugumon. Dokugumon B wouldn't need to worry about getting skewered by the spike wall, given that it was relying upon a ranged attack as opposed to going into close quarters. Dokugumon A, however, would let loose a piercing screech of pain as it slammed into the spikes; ichor-like liquid data sent dripping down from its wounds as it scrambled to pull itself away from the barricade. Owch. But then came the group's proper retaliations - namely, in the form of both a card from Kenny, and an ability from Hawkeye! As the BladeKuwagamon first went to harass Dokugumon B, the arachnid digimon seemed quite unimpressed; skittering to the side and lashing at it with a limb to send it teetering away (thankfully undamaged,) before letting out a low hiss. It seemed that this one saw it coming just in time, and didn't appreciate it. However, Arukenimon would have her own set of troubles. As Hawkeye fired off his Green Feather, verdant-green vines would burst from the ground; wrapping around her arachnid body, in a bid to hold her in place. "Oh? What is this, hmmm~?" The matriarch mused with a low chuckle, grinning wide and manic before she set to work brandishing her claws; cutting away the vines that bound her, and slipping her many limbs free. "Don't think that you can catch a spider by tangling it up, little morsel - tangling things up is our job, aaahahaheeheeheeee~!"But the brief window of time it took for her to free herself was plenty long enough of a distraction for the BladeKuwagamon to swoop in; slicing along her side, and drawing out a faint hiss..! Her wide grin, though maintained, almost looked as through she was gritting her teeth in discomfort now - even if only faintly. The only saving grace she had here, was that the BladeKuwagamon was a silver card - and thus dealt damage as a Champion - but a papercut could still hurt like none other. But now, it was the arachnids' turns. And Arukenimon had a trick of her own up her sleeve. "Oh, I'm so hungry - they're so hungry...!" She'd cackle, her manic mannerisms unchanged. "Don't try to escape - Let me share my gift with you...!" Thus, the matriarch arachnid would charge the group - taking in a deep breath - before sharply exhaling, sending out a black roiling cloud of some form of... Dust, or something? It would spread out in a wide-reaching cone over the group - and though logic dictated that something bad would happen if the dust was inhaled... ... Nothing seemed to happen, at least not yet. At worst, it'd irritate one's lungs and nose a little, prompting a little bit of coughing and/or sneezing - and it left a musty taste on one's tongue and throat. What was this...? Meanwhile, the two Dokugumon would have something a little more immediately threatening to bring to the table. They would still be focused on their respective targets from before - Dokugumon A fixating Hawkeye with a hungrily keen look, before spraying out a deluge of sticky spidersilk in an attempt to tangle him up..! Dokugumon B, on the other hand, would take a more offensive approach towards Levi - albeit continued to remain at range, due to not wanting to charge into a faceful of earthen spikes like its brethren did. Instead, it would spray out its own mess of spider silk - although these wouldn't be sticky. Instead, they were razor sharp, and threatened to slice up the Magnamon...!
- Stonewall Barricade damages Dokugumon A as it indeed impales itself, and Arukenimon is lightly scraped by the spikes as she disengages from Skadi. - BladeKuwagamon is unable to deal damage to Dokugumon B, but is able to deal light amounts of damage to Arukenimon. - Arukenimon is struck by Green Feather, but cannot be rooted - revealing her Escape Artist passive. However, this does distract her and leave her open to the BladeKuwagamon's slice. - In retaliation, Arukenimon uses... Something? On the group? by breathing out a cone of strange black dust. - Dokugumon A attempts to tangle Hawkeye up using Silk Spinner - Dokugumon B, meanwhile, attempts to slice Levi up with Silk Shredder! Arukenimon (Targeting Group w/... Something...?)Move Used: [ATTACK] ???: Arukenimon breathes out a thick and roiling cloud of what almost looks like black dust in a wide-reaching cone in front of her. Those who breathe in the dust, on the first round, initially appear unharmed and unaffected...

Post by Kenny O'Hara and Skadi on Aug 8, 2021 5:28:57 GMT
The Markhormon had no idea how close she was to practically getting her head painfully chomped off by the massively malicious spider woman as the spire's many wall of spikes practically tore through her adversary. Yet the image of the arachnids and insects crawling all over remained burned in her memories... for better or for worse. For now, Skadi herself had remained (mostly) unscathed, apart from the minor aching in her horns.
She knew she couldn't realistically keep this up forever, though.
As for the BladeKuwagamon, that mere swat would merely throw it off course - away from the path of the Dokugumon B. No matter. It wasn't the real target in this. Rather, it's more focused assault on Archnemon, amid all the vines that failed to slow either itself or Hawkeye's target down, would be much more successful, as it started to assault the giggling villainess. And for now, it would continue it's assault upon the abdomen, aiming to leave a much cleaner, and larger slice among her body.
It may have been simple Champion-level damage, but that would eventually threaten to quickly add up in the long term the more the battle dragged.
Behind the walls, both tamer and Digimon would practically wince at all the whines and hisses and screeches piercing through, Kenny instinctively covering his ears and shutting his eyes until it died down. Only when it finally did die down, he found himself rubbing his head as the subsequent ringing started, "Jesus Christ, I think that just nearly took out both my eardrums." He moaned to no-one in particular.
Just their luck, by the time the spike-lined walls started to 'retreat' once more back into the earth, they'd come face to face with Archnemon's ugly mug once more, the Markhormon merely letting out a small snarl in response... right until she'd blow out a heap of what looked to be black smoke in their direction. But rather than budge from her spot, she just... stood there? Turning her head towards her friend with a knowing grin?
"Kenny, I think we know what to do here." She'd simply pump one fist in the air, and that was all the signals he needed. One card swipe across the D-Nexus later, and a wafer-thin light shield, not too dissimilar to the ones the humans summoned during the acidic assault on Levi, would emerge from her arm, the Markhormon instinctively holding it out in front of her head as the dust came flying towards her.
With one simple thrust of Skadi's arm, her share of the dust would subsequently fly back towards Archnemon herself. Would her quote-unquote 'gift' affect her as it would have affected her target? Who knew, who cared? With any luck, this dust would be more than a serviceable enough distraction to her own counter-attack: the icy aura returning to her boney greatsword as she let out a mighty swing, sending a sharp blade composed of icy winds, aiming to cut into not just Archnemon, but the two Dokugumon's attacking Hawkeye and Levi.
The BladeKuwagamon merely flew away just as the attack was due to strike them.
As for Kenny?
As the dust barrelled towards him, an idea had started to emerge once more. The last time he did this was with the KoDokugumon swarm. It was crazy enough to work, saving Levi from a barrage of poison that would've otherwise eaten into his flesh. Would it be crazy enough to work again this time?
Quickly, he'd hold his D-Nexus once more, summoning the Light Shield in front of him against the rolling dust cloud, but this time, he'd call to the two other tamers, "Alan! Kaya! Huddle near me and activate your own Light Shields again! It could be enough to protect all of us from the dust cloud!" It was a sharp, firm command. There was no telling what that dust cloud was capable of doing to them.
And needless to say, it'd be pretty obvious nobody wanted to find out.
On cue with Kenny, Skadi reflects her share of the unnamed black dust attack back at Archnemon with VB-28: Mirror Shield. Hoping that the dust, plus the BladeKuwagamon's continued assault, will be enough to buy her time, she then attacks with Blizzard Calling, aiming to hit Archnemon and Dokugumons A and B with a strong icy blade of wind.
Ally!BladeKuwagamon continues it's assault, this time aiming to cleave through Archnemon's abdomen again, this time on a much larger scale.
Kenny summons the Light Shield again, before egging the other two on to go beside him and do the same, all for the hope of avoiding being affected by the unnamed black dust attack... hopefully.
Blizzard Calling: Skadi’s sword is surrounded by a faint icy aura, before she swings it at a wide angle, summoning a powerful blast of icy wind for up to 50 meters, that cuts into and blasts back up to three opponents at once. Flying Digimon also take 20% more damage when hit, and can be forced onto the ground. While the wind blade is powerful enough on it’s own, due to the fact she’s swinging a heavy object, the sword still hurt if you make contact with it directly, great for driving back opponents that are too close to her. (3 post cooldown)

Post by Alan Pantell on Aug 16, 2021 18:09:08 GMT
Alan's eyes consistently darted back and forth amidst the chaos. It was never easy being mission control for his digimon, especially when he knew his enemy would not be above making him a target. In every spare moment, the tamer shuffled through his cards, paying special attention to the ones he thought could conceivably prove useful in the next few minutes. The cards were a truly wonderful invention. Yes, with these cards, a weak human could be far more than an ineffectual Tristan Taylor, but that meant he had to be on four times high alert at all times. He focused mainly on the silver cards so as to avoid interrupting any of Levi's own plans of action. How about Lobomon? Levi likes swords and lasers. They're versatile weapons!
Then, an attack was launched which was sure to draw everyone's attention. Arachnemon was leaping at the party and spewing black smoke like an especially angry internet user! Both human and digimon had the same loud thought in alarm, as they dare not part their lips to let anything pass: It's all bugs! Them's bugs! The fact that Arachnemon had practically announced it was a cloud of bugs by referring to it as her "gift" helped speed along the realization.
In a blink, the primary objective was to not get hit by the attack. As Alan dashed over to join the other tamers in their friendship shield triad, holding his digivice skyward as he ran, the Magnamon looked to employ a shield of his own. Levi formed a golden light barrier not unlike the one employed by Alan around himself, with the goal of blocking those "dust" particles in his mind. Indeed, he had to focus on the attack he wished to block, as it could only block one. To his delight, the dust bounced off of his shield with a faint pitter-patter. His protection from the dust was doubly a good thing, for the golden warrior let out sharp gasp as searing pain lashed across the unprotected parts of his body. Bleeding blue data, the drake would have started bawling like a child if his resolve were not fueled by the necessity of remaining focused. Tears welled in his eyes, and power welled in his fist. Levi blinked away the tears so they did not hinder his accuracy, and fired a relatively weak-yet-dazzling laser at the offending Dokugumon as he maintained his dust guard.
Back on the ground, Alan squinted at the Dokugumon with disdain, happy that the timely card swipe had helped his friend get back at the creature, at least to some small degree.
Alan uses the second charge of his Light Screen to assist in protecting himself and his fellow Tamers from Something?!
Light Screen - A screen of light that protrudes from the Digivice, allowing humans a minor degree of protection. It can weather up to three Rookie attacks or one Champion attack before collapsing. It can collapse with a 3-post recharge time two times in a thread. On the third recharge, it breaks. Not for Digimon usage. Recharge Remaining: 3 Charges Remaining: 1
Magnamon uses Preventative Measure γ to completely block Something?!
Preventative Measure γ - Forms a temporary light barrier to completely block one attack at ultimate level or lower, or reduce damage from one mega level attack by 50%. 2-post cooldown. Cooldown Remaining: 2
Magnamon takes full damage from Dokugumon B's Silk Shredder!
Alan swipes Card VB-08: Lobomon, targeting Magnamon! Cards Remaining: 5 Magnamon uses Lobomon's Howling Laser to attack Dokugumon B from a distance!

Post by Kaya Matsui and Hawkeye on Aug 25, 2021 2:27:33 GMT
Oh god, the Dokugumon that got impaled while leaping for Hawkeye was not a pretty sight at all. The resulting shriek from the insect Digimon nearly burst Kaya's eardrums in the process, and all the digital blood coming from it... ugh, it was enough to make someone nauseous. Following that, Hawkeye's Green Feather maneuver was a success, ensnaring Arukenimon momentarily before the BladeKuwagamon card was activated, slashing at the horrid spider Digimon.
Once Skadi's blockade had retreated, Arukenimon stared at the group with an intense manic stare. She mentioned something about sharing a gift with the group. Kaya and Hawkeye both thought back to that poor Filmon that violently coughed up that weird black mass. It clicked for the two of them; whatever Arukenimon did to those Digimon, she was now going to do to them!
It seemed that Kenny and Alan both had put two and two together as well, with the former announcing to everyone to huddle near him and activate their Light Shields once again. Without hesitation, Kaya would huddle up with the other Tamers and once again activate her Light Shield against the bugs, while also holding her mouth with her free hand and holding her breath in the process. Please work, please work, please work!
While Levi would use his own ability to block the attack, Hawkeye would do the same. He stood next to Levi and folded his wings in front of him as the feathers on them became like steel, blocking the bugs and anything else that might've come his way.
That meant the Dokugumon aiming for Hawkeye was going to be in for disappointment. The spider silk would simply bounce right off of Hawkeye's steel wings, almost to a comedic effect. Maybe if it tried again after those steel wings faded... Kaya uses "Light Screen" to protect her from "Something?"
Hawkeye uses "Steel Protection" to block "Something?" and "Silk Spinner."
Moves Steel Protection: Hawkeye's wings become steel once more, but this time he folds his wings in front of him and those around him, stopping all attacks for one post. Cooldown is three posts.
Passives Deadshot (Combat Passive): Hawkeye's aim is far superior to most Digimon. Each attack has its accuracy increase by 30%, making it more likely that his attack will hit its target.
Cooldowns -Shadow Wing (2/2) Ready to Use! -Green Feather (1/2) -Steel Protection (0/3)

As Arukenimon breathed out the strange cloud, it seemed that the group as a whole had an idea of what it likely was -- though none of them were all that keen on testing their theories or figuring it out for themselves. Thus, the group would go heavily on the defensive - putting up shields of every kind to protect themselves from the cloud (and in Hawkeye's case, from the silk that one of the Dokugumon had spat at him!) to wondrous effect. Though it attempted to wash over them, the shields were plenty enough to ward it off - and Skadi's Mirror Shield would even be able to reflect it..! ... It's a shame, though, that Arukenimon wouldn't even react to a portion of the cloud hitting her in the face. Instead, she just seemed vaguely disappointed that her maybe-attack didn't work. "Ahhh, what a shame," She'd sigh - eyeballing each individual of the assembled group. Who was the weakest link in the chain - or the biggest thorn in her side - she wondered...? Well, she would first have to contend with what few retaliations the group offered. First was the BladeKuwagamon that would attempt to dive in at her - though she'd sidestep and give it a brief smack with the back of her hand - sending it briefly teetering before it restabilized. The Lobomon laser, however, would come as a surprise to the targeted Dokugumon B - prompting it to screech as it was left briefly dazzled and scorched. It didn't take very long before it would regain its bearings though - the blast of light was bright, sure, but it was still a Champion-level attack. And finally, was Skadi's own attack - a cutting blast of icy wind coming at all three arachnids! Arukenimon would bring up her arms to block the brunt of it, skidding back slightly, and Dokugumon B would be struck dead on - sending it reeling - although Dokugumon A would be just able to jump out of the way, hissing lowly. Thus, came the spiders' turns. First things first - Arukenimon's gaze would decide to settle upon Skadi once more, and the spider matriarch's grin spread wide. "Eheheheeeee~... How about we try this, then?" She'd muse, before letting her mouth hang open, as a small swarm of insects spilled out of it, and attempted to make their way towards Skadi! Were the insects to succeed, they wasted no time in crawling over her - seeking out any potential entry points from which to infest. And if they couldn't find one? Well, they had no qualms in biting their way in. The Dokugumon, meanwhile, seemed to be changing tactics - at least slightly. Dokugumon B would call to its brethren with a shrill chatter, which Dokugumon A responded to in kind - both arachnid digimon setting their gazes upon Levi now. Dokugumon B would spray out a deluge of silk - Silk Spinner - to attempt to hamper the Magnamon's movement. Dokugumon A, meanwhile, would attempt to let loose a Poison Deluge - a potentially messy one-two punch, if they landed!
- The shields fully block ??? - however, the reflected portion does not seem to affect or bother Arukenimon at all. - Arukenimon deflects aka fancy dodges the BladeKuwagamon's attack - Dokugumon B is struck by Howling Laser, but isn't phased by it for very long. - Blizzard Calling strikes Arukenimon and Dokugumon B, but Dokugumon A dodges out of the way. - Arukenimon, in return, uses Feeding Time and releases a swarm of insects that attempt to infest Skadi! - Meanwhile, Dokugumon A and Dokugumon B attempt to gang up on Levi - B using Silk Spinner, and A using Poison Deluge. At this point, Kenny had his eyes practically glued shut, his breath had all but slowed to a crawl, and his bones were jittering like crazy, hoping, nay, praying Kaya and Alan listened to him and activated their shields once again, all just to avoid the barrelling smoke-like dust from washing over them and potentially dissolving them alive from the inside. Only the mildly disappointed croon coming from Archnemon's ugly mug revealing itself once more as the dust died down was enough for him to switch off the now-flickering light screen.
"Is- Is it gone?" His eyes darted around the whole area at record speed, "Are we- are we not choking to death on our blood and bile right now?" Now his breathing had resumed at rapid speed. After a few moments of heavy deep breaths, he could spare himself so much energy just to turn his head over and give a grateful, if not weary and relieved, smile, at both of his teammates, "...thanks, guys. Couldn't have done it without you."
Predictably on the Digimon's side, things wouldn't be so different; just as Skadi raised her own shield to save herself from the rolling smoke-like substance, Hawkeye and Levi would follow in turn, activating their own shield abilities to save themselves as well. Much to her annoyance, however, the Archnemon barely seemed to react to the dust, nor to the icy winds cutting through her body. The Markhormon just let out an irritated growl as she glared daggers at the Perfect-level spider monster.
And then it all clicked; she let her own temper get in the way. The sight of all those innocent Digimon trapped onto the walls, and the apparent glee that the Archnemon felt from their suffering... in her initial blind rage, she left herself open to nearly getting her head chomped off by that voracious mouth, only saving her skin at the very last second thanks to some quick thinking interventions.
Keep calm, her thoughts were all but blunt now, Do not let your anger get in the way. There are lives on the line here. And you can't afford to make any more mistakes. Not for Levi. Not for Hawkeye, and especially not for Kenny. You have to stay calm. For their sake.
Naturally, it'd only be a matter of time before she'd be put to the test.
She felt her stomach drop as a massive swarm of insects emerged en masse towards her in kind. Steeling her nerves, her eyes would only briefly dart towards her tamer for a moment, "Kenny! Swipe the Wings of the Wyvern card! Now!" She barked loudly.
Briefly flinching from his partner's unusually commanding tone directed at him, he complied with a simple nod, "On it." One swipe of the aforementioned Modify card later, and two giant, imposing dragonlike wings would burst out from the Markhormon's back. With a mere flap, soon enough the Markhormon would find herself airborne - away from the insects marching towards her back on terra firma.
Another close one. And she knew her luck had to run out sooner or later.
Her ears twitched to the sounds of ear-peeling chittering from both the of wild Dokugumons - turning their attention towards Levi, before firing off a rain of silk and skin devouring acid towards him. And an idea flashed inside her mind; yes, she knew this would be incredibly risky, if not borderline suicidal. And yes, she knew she was all but throwing herself onto the firing line directly at this point.
But lives were on the line here, and she needed to steel her resolve.
Her wings flapping aggressively at high speeds, and placing herself in front of where Levi himself stood, Skadi would merely grit her teeth and clench her fists as she found herself splattered with the poison, and sprayed with the tangling silk. Once again, her natural resistance to poison would kick in once more, the smell of the gunk alone merely making her gag a little. Not so much with the webbing; her wings flapped harder than ever as one of the many appendages tangled up by the spidersilk, making her grunt in annoyance.
Not that it would deter her spirit. Rather, this time, she turned to Levi once more, "Levi! Stand back! I'll distract them!" Another short, sharp command, though this time tinged with concern. Her eyes darted back at not just the Archnemon, but the two Dokugumon minions once more.
This had to work. For the sake of her teammates. And the innocent Digimon trapped in this pace.
"Alright, you ugly, smoke spewing bitch! If you really want to eat me alive, come and get me!!!" With that attention seeking, and borderline potentially aggro drawing, battle cry, she'd let out another, louder, and much more aggressive stomp onto the floor once again. But if anyone was expecting another stone wall of spikes to emerge from the ground once again, they'd be mistaken.
No, instead a loud earthquake would rumble all throughout the area, shaking the entire cave for both grounded human and Digimon alike, threatening to trip up those unlucky enough to find themselves on the floor. Then, not even a second later, three giant spires would emerge from where both Archnemon and the two Dokugumon stood, threatening to pierce their bodies, if not outright sending those unlucky enough to be caught in them flying.
Just to rub salt in the proverbial wound, the BladeKuwagamon, who now circled under the roof of the cave after merely being flicked away, went in for one last death-or-glory strike towards Archnemon, aiming to go for one final gigantic cleave onto her abdomen once more, before flying off and dissolving into silvery data, and then into nothingness.
Would this work? Well, she hoped it would. This crazy, attention grabbing gambit had all but involved putting herself right in front of the firing line of what Archnemon and (had they survived) the Dokugumons had in store for her, in exchange for basically letting Hawkeye and Levi fire off attacks without fear of retaliation or harm on their end.
Let's just hope it all worked out for the best.
In a borderline crazy gambit, Skadi orders Kenny to swipe DR-28: Wings of the Wyvern, all to avoid Archnemon's Feeding Time... only to throw herself in front of both of Silk Spinner and Poison Deluge. While her Toxic Immunity passive ignores the latter attack entirely, she takes the full brunt of the former attack, debuff and all. In return, she attempts to draw the aggro by just outright insulting Archnemon to her face and aiming to strike her, alongside Dokugumon A and B once more, by using Spiral Earthquake, sending out a massive earthquake to possibly throw them off balance and summoning 3 massive pillars to strike them all where they stand.
Meanwhile, ally!BladeKuwagamon goes in for one last strike, aiming to slash Archnemon once more across her abdomen before it 'dies' at the end of this post.
Spiral Earthquake: A even much more stronger version of Spiral Tremor, Skadi stomps the ground several times to cause a powerful tremor to summon up to 5 spires to attack the enemies (if there is one enemy, then this becomes one huge spire instead), reaching up to 20 meters per spire, or 50 meters for the super spire. While this attack lacks the defence piercing capabilities of Spiral Tremor, it makes up for it with sheer power alone, and a 150 meter radius that causes an earthquake, disorienting all grounded Digimon (allies and enemies) and leaving enemies open to attack. (3 post cooldown)

Levi began to fly towards the offending Dokugumon, set on making it pay for what it did to his beautiful scales. But before he could even make it a few feet, or even consider dodging its oncoming attack, some other mass of white jumped in front of his vision, making him stop alive in his tracks. Skadi had intercepted, taking two ultimate-level attacks to the face to save him from coming to any more harm. "Th...Thank you!" stammered the golden warrior, shaking his head to get himself focused back on the battle.
Change of plans. Skadi was going to take care of Arukenimon's main minions, so what was left for Levi was to change targets to the lady herself. It would seem all of the major opponents' attentions were directed elsewhere at the moment, so he decided to soar around in a big semi-circle, making his way around to the other side of Arukenimon. As he did this, he reached into two imaginary sheaths at his hips, and from them pulled out and manifested two glowing blades - one crackling with orange fire, one sparkling with blue lightning. With these, there was no need for big charges or grand attacks. With these, he could attack at will, if but for a short time.
Back on the ground, Alan observed his partner was now closing in on melee range with the enemy who, as everyone recently witnessed, is terrifying at close ranges. It would be best to try not to leave what wounds he had open. He shuffled through his hand again and pulled out one of the basic cards which comes with every card scanner: "Regenerate!". Gradually, the card would set to work, tiny ones suturing their way through small zeroes back and forth, mending a small amount of the damage Levi had sustained.
Thanks to Markhormon's interception, both Poison Deluge and Silk Spinner completely fail to hit Magnamon!

Post by Kaya Matsui and Hawkeye on Sept 19, 2021 21:15:03 GMT
Both Kaya and Hawkeye would huddle together and keep their eyes shut until the attack had stopped. With plenty of defensive abilities being used, it was clear that they would all be able to survive the sudden attack. Kaya only opened her eyes when she heard Kenny ask if it was gone. With the attack dispersed and the shields disappearing, it appeared that they were all safe. Kenny looked over at the others and thanked them for their help. Kaya smiled, both her and Hawkeye giving Kenny a less energetic thumbs up than usual, but ones that were still accompanied with a smile.
Arukenimon only looked mildly disappointed that it didn't work. They watched as Arukenimon eyeballed each member of the group, presumably wondering which one to go after first. Hawkeye clenched his fist, expecting to be the one that she'd go after. It was Skadi's attack that cemented Arukenimon's choice, however. Kaya and Hawkeye watched as she opened her mouth and let a small swarm of insects spill out, all of them making their way towards Skadi. She was quick to tell Kenny to activate another card at least, allowing her to gain dragonlike wings to avoid the insects, with Hawkeye doing the same with his own wings, and Kaya on the ground making sure that those bugs didn't get to her as well
There's no way in hell I'm letting those damn bugs feast on me.
The duo watched as Skadi jumped in between Levi and the two Dokugumon, protecting the Magnamon against their attacks which didn't even seem to affect her in the slightest. Hawkeye would take this aggro-attracting moment to slip to the shadows, hopefully to where Arukenimon would not notice him. While Hawkeye couldn't feel it, he could see the earth shaking around them, and Kaya was even struggling to keep her feet on the ground at that moment. He could see Levi doing a similar tactic, flying in a semi-circle behind Arukenimon herself while she was distracted.
While Arukenimon and her minions would hopefully be struck by the giant spikes that Skadi had summoned, Hawkeye looked over to Levi, the look on the Garudamon's face saying it all. "We'll have a better chance if we strike at the same time." If Levi was able to figure that out, the next part would be watching for any potential weak points that Arukenimon might have. The more damage they'll be able to deal, the better. While Arukenimon and Dokugumons A and B were distracted, Hawkeye uses this opportunity to stealthily position himself behind Arukenimon alongside Levi, using this time to detect any weak points on Arukenimon herself.

Alan, Levi, Kaya, and Hawkeye would be taking more strategic maneuvers from the looks of things. Whereas the former duo were healing up and preparing to lay a smackdown upon the enemies, Hawkeye would be keeping an eye out for an opening in the enemy's guard, his keen gaze sure to not miss even a single chip in the armor... But then there was Skadi, who had a lot more on her plate. She avoids the swarm of insects that had made their way towards her, thanks to Wings of the Wyvern; but she also takes the time to cover for Levi, with the two Dokugumon who had been ganging up on him! But while she could easily deal with the acidic poison, well... The same couldn't be said about the silk that would tangle up around her limbs; it was going to be quite troublesome, until she could find a chance to tear it away. But all of that being said, it seemed as though Arukenimon was beginning to grow a little displeased with just how wily Skadi was - and really, could you blame her? These were being quite the troublesome morsels, for as much as she wanted to feed them to her children..! But that wasn't even the end of it - because of course, Skadi was retaliating as well, with one hell of an attack. Diving back down to the earth to stomp at the ground, it would cause a tremor that sent the spider trio stumbling and skittering, trying their damndest to maintain their balance and footing...! Though one of the Dokugumon - Dokugumon B - was able to skitter out of the way of one of the spires just in time, Dokugumon A would be grazed and sent tumbling across the unsteady earth, and Arukenimon herself would be struck dead-on and launched with a shrill screech that was sure to hurt if anyone had sensitive hearing. As the spiders tumbled or dodged, they'd be somewhat scattered amongst the battlefield - Arukenimon in particular baring her fangs, briefly wincing as the BladeKuwagamon cut into her chitin - even if shallowly, given that it was only a Champion. Oh, did this morsel want all of the attention...? "Get her." She'd simply state to the other two Dokugumon - whom would obey, all three spider digimon now advancing upon Skadi..! Starting with Dokugumon A, the arachnid digimon would spew out a mess of razor-sharp silk, in a bid to attempt to slice Skadi apart! Meanwhile, Dokugumon B would take advantage of Skadi having descended to the earth - attempting to leap at her, jaws opened wide, and ready to bite down upon her..! And finally, there was Arukenimon, who'd cackle as she spun herself a long and razor-thin line of silk like a whip - giving it a practice crack at the air, before she would swing it down at Skadi, aiming to injure her wings in particular..! "Don't ask for things you're not prepared for, morsel~!"

Post by Kenny O'Hara and Skadi on Sept 22, 2021 7:52:58 GMT
Even in the heat of the moment, amidst the sheer anarchy, the Markhormon could still hear the unmistakable sigh of relief coming from her Magnamon ally behind; even as her massive draconic wings lightly brushed near his face, Levi would still be able to make out a reassuring grunt of appreciation, even if the current situation forced her to keep her focus on Archnemon and her cronies at all times.
The pleasantries could wait.
Right now, as the earthquake rocked the arena and the massive spires emerged, all Skadi could do was stand back and admire her footwork; even if the spires didn't end up cleanly cutting through the two Dokugumon like a warm knife through butter, a small smirk would emerge on her face as Archnemon's spire hit dead on. Even that eardrum-rupturing screech, the same one that Kenny had now found himself quickly slamming his palms against his ears as soon as it started, was practically music to Skadi.
And now they were targeting her? Perfect.
That smirk would not leave her face as she stared that bitch down. Rather? It'd just grow a little larger by the second, not even budging for the sheer volley of attacks that were flying her way. With the wings flapping hard to rid themselves of the webbing entangling them in particular, Skadi would once again dart her eye to Kenny to bark out her next command, "Swipe Mollusk Shell!"
"On it!" Kenny cried out once more as he rapidly swiped the new card on the D-Nexus. Not a moment too soon, and a giant, smooth, silver oval shell would emerge on the mountain goat's back, enough to cover all but her head (alongside two slots just large enough for the wings to retract at will) - the same one that Dokugumon B would find itself landing on and trying to dine.
She'd merely let out a low, annoyed grunt as the razor sharp silk from Dokugumon A would lash out at her; while she still could feel the stinging nettles strike at her body, the shell would help to cushion the blow. Likewise, Dokugumon B would find great difficulty chewing through not just the massive shell, but her own naturally rugged body as well. Yes, that would also sting a little too, but not so much that it would seriously wound her.
Rather, her gaze still locked onto Archnemon, firing off her own volley of silk right towards her. On cue, the two massive wings would immediately retract into the shell itself just as it struck her back, yet she still stood there, clenching her fists and gritting her teeth even as the pain registered throughout her rugged body. "Is that the best you got, you ugly bitch witch!?" She growled. Like if she was going to give that monster even a shred of satisfaction of seeing her in pain.
She needed to fight through this.
For everyone's sake.
She had to do everything she could to save them all.
Snarling, the Markhormon would reach around and aim to tear the Dokugumon off her back, and, in one fell swing, would aim and toss it in a powerful long throw towards Archnemon's ugly mug. Her palm glowing blue, a giant glacier would appear above where the spider-woman stood, before going into a rapid fire freefall back onto Earth, aiming to pierce her entire body (and, had it all gone to plan, take out Dokugumon B in the process too).
Yes, she knew what she was signing up for when she called for this crazy gambit, but she didn't care! She could take the punches in stride! She could absorb the blows for Levi and Hawkeye! They didn't need to worry about a thing! They didn't need to worry about her! She was fine! Perfectly bloody fine! She knew what she was doing, damnit! Any concerns they had with her were perfectly unwarranted, really! Honest to Yggdrasil! It was merely a papercut! A scratch! She could walk it off! She could walk it all off! For their sake! For the sake of the team! For the sake of those trapped! For the sake of everybody here!
...at least, that's what she was telling herself, anyways. A fresh tinge of concern could be seen crossing Kenny's face, but he didn't say a word.
Following up on her insane, aggro drawing gambit, Skadi now commands Kenny to swipe DS-29: Mollusk Shell to summon the titular abnormal armour, allowing her to cushion the blow and reduce the damage from all three attacks (especially for Hungering Bite, which gets weakened further by her Mountaineer passive by 30%). She retaliates in kind by tearing off Dokugumon B from her body, going for a long throw aimed at Archnemon's face to throw her off guard, before aiming to strike down her (and B if it gets caught in the crossfire) with Glacial Crash.
Glacial Crash: Markhormon summons a giant icicle, slightly larger than the opponent, from out of the sky, to crush the opponent with absolute ease. This attack bypasses shields, defensive buffs, and passives to deal the maximum damage possible to Digimon of equal or lower level to them. Digimon of the Mega level will instead incur 50% of the damage. (3 post cooldown)

Alan watched the battlefield closely, cards at the ready. Every now and then he stole a glance at every direction around him; he had to be careful when it came to creepy crawly things. It seemed to both of them that Skadi had successfully captured and held the enemy's attention, so Levi would be able to go ahead with the attack he was preparing. They only hoped that the fluffy behemoth wouldn't run out of tricks in the middle of her distraction. Such concerns, however, better off voiced at a moment later than this one. For now, all they could do was their best to lighten Skadi's load with as much damage as possible.
Levi could feel the pain from his razor cuts further subsiding. The power of his magicked blades is only available for a limited time before it needs to recharge, but that wouldn't matter, because now was the perfect time to strike. The Magnamon rushed forward, as silently as his jet-boosted armor would allow, crossed his swords into a scissor formation, and once they were on either side of the humanoid portion of Arachnemon's body, he uncrossed them with as much strength has he could muster, trying to make a clean slice through the thin connecting portion of her abdomen with searing fire and lightning. Against any analog creature, this would surely have ended the fight in an instant, but there was no telling what sort of damage this would or wouldn't cause to a digital creature.

Post by Kaya Matsui and Hawkeye on Sept 26, 2021 20:24:29 GMT
Kaya and Hawkeye watched from their respective positions as Skadi drew all the attention from Arukenimon and the Dokugumons towards her. Hawkeye and Levi had gone completely unnoticed, and Skadi was now the one that the giant spiders were now targeting. Kaya couldn't help but feel so bad... the others were planning some kind of sneak attack, and Skadi was left alone to deal with the big ugly spiders.
Skadi...!
Of course what Kaya didn't know was that Skadi wanted this to happen. Kenny would swipe another card, making Kaya kind of jealous that the others could power up their partners with cards like this, but also giving Skadi a smooth silver shell on her back, stopping one of the Dokugumons from feeding on her. She took the Arukenimon's and the other Dokugumon's silk whip lashes like a champ, confidently asking if that was all they had. "Whoooo! Go Skadi!" Kaya would cheer for the mountain goat Digimon.
Skadi wasn't done there, though. Kaya and Hawkeye both watched as she grabbed the Dokugumon on her back and chucked it at Arukenimon before she summoned a giant glacier would appear above her. It would then slam down on top of the giant spider, hopefully piercing her entire body.
On the off chance that Arukenimon somehow survived an attack like that, that was where Levi and Hawkeye would come in. His right claw covered in stone-like feathers, he would rush forward at the same time that Levi did. While Levi's blades would cut through Arukenimon's body, Hawkeye's Rock Claw was going straight for her face. Three sources of damage, all occurring at roughly the same time... Hawkeye uses "Rock Claw" to punch Arukenimon in the face at the same time that Levi's "Virtuous Blades" hit the same Digimon.
Moves Rock Claw: Feathers from Hawkeye's wings surround his claw, becoming has tough as literal boulders, before he sucker-punches the target. Cooldown is one post.

Today was not Arukenimon's day. This caprine digimon was becoming more and more of a tank by the minute, weathering the assault as best as she could, even with all three Ultimates bearing down on her. Were Arukenimon a much more friendly digimon, she might've been impressed at this assault -- although for now, she only felt agitation; albeit not of the frustrated kind. Hungry, hungry, she was getting hungry -- and her hungered gaze would cast between the combatants - ally and foe alike... When will she get to devour something? When will her 'gift' be able to feed? Briefly, her gaze even flicked to the captives strung up on the walls -- but no. Those weren't hers to devour. First though, there were a number of attacks to contend with -- all of whom were focused upon Arukenimon herself. At least, save for the poor Dokugumon who would get tossed by Skadi - the large arachnid sent flying in Arukenimon's way! She'd catch Dokugumon B surprisingly deftly, sliding back briefly before snarling, as she'd waste no time in tossing the spider digimon side, sending it tumbling without a care in the world. Glacial Crash would be the next attack - the massive icicle bearing down upon Arukenimon. However, the spider matriarch would be swift enough to leap back and away from such -- arms crossed over herself to brace against the shards of ice that scattered outwards from the impact, grazing and cutting into her skin and chitin. But... With all of her focus on Skadi, she barely saw the next attacks coming. Fire and electricity seared at Arukenimon as Levi sliced at her - burns making themselves plainly apparent on her skin and chitin alike as she shrieked in pain and rage, blindly swinging at him with an arm, though the strike would go wide. And as her focus was torn towards the Magnamon, then Hawkeye would come in - a feathered fist striking into her jaw, sending the arachnid tumbling across the forest floor, stunned. The two Dokugumon were startled by this assault, and hissed amongst eachother as B found its bearings - glancing between Skadi, Levi, and Hawkeye, as if briefly unsure who to target next. It didn't take long for the feral digimon to decide to continue as they had though, retaliating against Skadi's attacks against their matriarch...! Dokugumon A would act first, hissing at Skadi as it lept at her, jaws open wide with another Hungering Bite...! Dokugumon B, meanwhile, kept its distance - spitting out a Silk Shredder at the caprine digimon..! Arukenimon, however, didn't attack. At least not straight away. Hungry. Hungry. She was hungry. Her stomach was so hungry empty. Her 'gift' was so ravenous. She hungry needed to fill this pit. She needed to hungry fill this void. Hungry hungry hungry hungryhungryhungry--Dokugumon B never saw it coming - and when it did, it was too late. Arukenimon shrieked like a wild beast as she pounced upon it, raving and rambling like a madwoman - "HUNGRYHUNGRYHUNGRYHUNGRY--!" - as she tore at it with her claws and teeth, ripping away data that she would swallow down without a second thought. All the while, the Dokugumon screamed in fearful pain and struggled - as if pleading at Arukenimon for mercy - though she did not listen. Droplets of liquid data were flung about in the poor spider's struggles and Arukenimon's ravenous feast, as she ate more and more of its body away... But eventually, the Dokugumon's flailing began to slow. Its attempts to fight back and live became ever more feeble. Fragments of data that were forgotten like crumbs amidst the meal rose from it as it began to perish, all until its weakly beating core was left... Free for Arukenimon to bite down upon it, with her secondary mouth - the maw in her abdomen crushing it without a second thought. All that was left was a mess of liquid data, and the spider matriarch, as she basked in the euphoria of her feast. "Ahhh..." She sighed, smiling almost dreamily. She was sated - at least for now - and her 'gift' was happy... "That's much better..."
