They expected just Wendigomon. They also got SkullGreymon. Fun. But Crystal wanted her egg, and the group was certain to allow her to get it.
Still, Ghost was still dazing them with the Fizzy Duzzy Balls. But even with an area of effect she could not hit them all. One of the SkullGreymon was getting too close, and Ghost stomped. A black phantom spire shot up from the grounspd at his location, striking his leg and heavily damaging it, having held back a bit. But it only slowed his approach, not stop it. Suddenly, a missile was launched from his back, heading right for the group before it was intercepted by another missile.
Role to turned around, seeing openings around Sanoske, as he fired off one of his Hidden Missiles.
"Nice one, comrade!"
^Yeah, yeah.^
Role to used his trap wire once more to trip up a Wendigomon near the steps, before sending a few more grenades his way, So far they seemed to be doing alright. More Grenades, Hidden Missiles, and Balls were sent to the tribe.
Crystal then asked Sanoske to offer her a lift, to read more of the door's text. And Sanoske did just that... he created a solid Illusion of an actual lift that would raise Crystal to where she wanted to be. He was still the last line of defense, and wanted to be sure he would attack as well without disturbing her too much.

Just when they seemed to have gotten out of the frying pan, they found themselves facing the fire. That's what Jimmy and Shin were thinking as they came face to face with the battle that was going on. It appeared that the ruins that Shin believed would be a safe haven was, in fact, the center of all the chaos that was going on.
"Shoot. This isn't good." Jimmy said as he looked around.
"Yeah. No kidding. There's no way were getting near that ruin without one of those explosions hitting us, and with all these Wendigomon and Skullgreymon around, we have no other way to escape." Shin replied as he tried his best to look for a way out of this mess.
As Jimmy looked around too, his gaze was drawn up to the sky as he noticed something. "No escape you say. I think I have an idea." Jimmy said with a smirk as he drew he D-tector.
He raised is left hand closed in a fist up to eye level before opening it to reveal a line of fractal code haloing around it. With his other hand he quickly drew his D-tector and swiped it across the fractal code, calling out, "Execute! Fraction Spirit Evolution!" His whole body was then engulfed in data as it began to change shape. "Bucchiemon" The newly transformed Spirit Wielder called out as he emerged from the data.
"Bucchiemon? Jimmy what are you..."
"Geez Shin. I thought you would have figured it out already. We're going to go over them." Jimmy chastised as he grabbed hold of Falcomon and lift them above the ground. However it was a bit more difficult then Jimmy thought to lift all of Shin's weight, "Shin. You could use to lose some weight."
"Hey. It's you who failed to build some muscle for yourself." Shin called back with some anger in his voice.
Ugh... At this rate we'll never even be able to clear the treeline. Yet maybe we won't have to. Jimmy thought to himself as he looked over at the group on the stairs. If they could assist the group in pushing the Tribal digimon back, then perhaps they all could make their escape.

"That works." Crystal told Sanoske as she got onto the lift she made and used it to get her a better look at the inscription on the door, "Just as I thought. It has been worn down with time."
Crystal then began tracing her finger along the grooves in the stone to make the symbols clearer. As she did so, she began to realize where exactly she saw these symbols before. A couple of years ago she read a book all about ancient languages and how one could translate what they say through a common ancestor. If only she had the book with her now, this would be a cake walk, bur instead she was going to have to do this by memory. Well hopefully she could figure it out before the others have any major trouble.

The SkullGreymon that fired the missile, as well as others, were getting too close for comfort. The ones that were dazed by the Fizzy Duzzy Balls were snapping out of it, and it more or less caused them to bunch up with more incoming digimon. Pata was sobbing uncontrollably.
"WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE! I-I'M TOO YOUNG TO GO! WE NEVER HAD THAT NICE DINNER YOU PROMISED! WAAAAHHHHHH!"
"If you cry you're ready to die! And you don't see any tears on my face! Stand strong, Pata!"
Ghost then had an idea... since the digimon were bunching up she could knock them out faster. But not with her Super Mega form, which was mostly a support type. As Sanoske shot down more missiles with his own, Ghost ran down the stairs, turning into a BlackImperialdramon nice she got far enough. A shadowy one that left afterimages and ran faster than what would be expected of a digimon its size. It ran around, knocking down, slashing, swatting, tackling, and whatever else was needed to keep them busy. She still avoided killing them, but she wasn't pulling her punches too much.
Sanoske was a bit impressed with Ghost, but he wasn't relaxing just yet.
^Crystal, how's your progress going? Need anything else?^

"Watch out below." Jimmy called out as he and Shin began a crash course towards the stone stairs of ruins.
Jimmy had then dropped Shin down once they came a safe distance towards the ground, and with his wings the Falcomon managed to glide onto the stairs with some grace. The same couldn't be said for Jimmy however as the teen tripped during his landing and ended up sliding a couple of stairs downwards on his bottom because of it.
"Ow... So landing on stairs is not exactly my forte. Nice to know." Jimmy said as he put his hand over a nasty bruise on his backside that his fall earned him. As he did so though, he took notice of Ghost taking care of business.
"Huh... Now that's pretty impressive." Shin admitted before turning his head towards the others, "Sorry to suddenly pop in like this, but it appear we all are caught in the same sticky situation."

"No. I think I may almost have it. Just hold on for a little bit longer." Crystal called back to Sanoske before returning to work on figuring out what the inscription on the door means.
The good news was that she believed she figured out most of what the inscription translate too. The problem was that she couldn't make heads or tails of what it could mean. It seemed to almost be a riddle of sorts, with the answer being the secret to getting the door open.
"Question the egg of forty thieves." Crystal read a loud in hopes that hearing it could help her figure out what it is. Though why did she get a feeling that her translation wasn't exactly right. Could it be that she got something wrong?

While Sanoske was surprised, and almost glad, to see Shin and Jim come in, neither look particularly powerful enough to do much in terms of handling their little tribe problem. Of course, appearances are decieving, but their entrance was less than perfect. Clumsy, even. And risky. If they had stronger forms they would probably have a better entrance, right? At least Ghost seemed to be buying them time.
After their greeting Sanoske supplied his own. Jimmy, being a spirit user of a fairy type digimon, would unfortunately not understand Sanoske.
^Yeah, hello, we're in this situation because a certain jerk... a spike backed jerk decided to talk crap..."^
"Has it not occurred to you that whether I ticked off that guy or not this was gonna happen? We're on their turf, and you guys want in! Just let a guy have some excitement!"
Sanoske groaned before his attention turned back to Crystal. She was so close to opening the door, but she still had that last phrase to make sense of. Sanoske couldn't make heads or tails of it himself. But he had faith in her that she could do this.
^Come on, Crys. If anyone's able to do this, it's my Crystal, huh?^ he growled, hoping to boost her confidence up.
"Well I assume she's not your commander because of her stunning good looks."
^What!?^
"I'm saying she's the brains, comrade. Besides I'm obligated to think Pata is better looking, hahaha!!!"

((Sorry for the extremely long wait. For simplicity sake, I'm going to do one post for all characters instead of posting on their seperate accounts.))
"Is that so?" Shin said as he gave a spiteful glance at Role for bringing them all in this mess. "I just hope that Crystal of yours knows what she's doing. Or else I fear how much more that woman fighting can truly take." He then told Sanoske before looking over at the ongoing battle.
Jimmy just blinked his eyes as he heard them talk, but unable to understand Sanoske's growlinh. "Wait. You can understand that strange Gazimon, Shin?" Jimmy asked confused.
"You can't." Jimmy shook his head no to Shin's question who just shrugged it off. "No matter. We have other things to deal with."
Meanwhile Crystal stood by the door trying to figure the riddle out. "Come on Crys. It's simplier then you think." She told herself as she tried to clear her mind. She needed to figure this out quick, or else they were all doom.

At this point it would be reasonable to say that Ghost was currently fighting off the bulk of the full tribe of these digimon on her own, dodging and weaving, expending as little energy as she could and concentrating solely on buying time. Still, she could not do this all day. Her actions gotten the attention of most of the digimon, and they were all attacking her, with some attacks connecting. She wasn't letting up, but she was getting worn out. Blow for blow, and getting more and more winded, Ghost was doing all she could.
Sanoske turned back to Crystal, taking a moment to calm himself in this tense situation before speaking again.
^Question the egg of 40 thieves? Is there some, I dunno, figurative meaning to this?^
Pata was at her wits end as Rolento threw grenades, and then stopped.
"Well, I'm out!"
"OUT YOU'RE NOT OUT YOU'RE NEVER OUUUUT STOP PLAYING WITH MEEEEEEE!!!!!"
"Pata?"
Pata, in pure panic mode, wildly clawed at Rolento. Not enough to hurt him, though. In fact, she seemed to be hyperventilating a tad, and her clawing was more like flailing.
"I meant the riddle! Not my grenades! Calm down, baby, before you injure yourself!"
^Ummm... n-no pressure?^ Sanoske nervously growled out to the Lopmon. Chances are they would have to simply leave if Crystal didn't get them in.

"Yeah. No pressure. Were all just going to be in a much worse situation if I don't figure this out quickly." Crystal responded with a nervous chuckle.
From the looks of things, escape was going to be very difficult indeed. Their best chance would be to fly out of here, but even then, they'll have to avoid oncoming fire as they do so. Would they even be able to all fly away from here with so many people in the first place? In fact. Even if she got the door open, how would that help with their current predicament. No. She can't think like that right now. Everyone was doing what they can so that she has the time to open the temple and retrieve her digimentle. She needed to focus on solving this riddle. If only she knew what it meant by 'Question the egg of 40 thieves.'
"Well I guess I have no choice." Jimmy cued in as he looked at their dire situation, "Shin. See if you can't help get that door open. I'll see if I can't help them buy us some more time in the meantime. I really hope getting into that temple is worth it." The Fairy type digimon then began to run down the stairs a little ways until he was close enough to launch his own range attacks into the mix in hopes that it'll help slow the dark evolved digimon some.

Rolento grabbed Pata with one hand, tossing out grenades with the other, and began shushing her as she cried out. Even Rolento was starting to get worried about this overall situation considering how his friend was flailing about. But he had no regrets.
Jimmy had offered some aid as Shen went to help Crystal. Sanoske, while offering his own offense against the tribe, continued to mull over this riddle.
^Um... maybe the 40 thieves are the tribe? Maybe we ask the egg... something?
Or maybe it's an egg of thievery? Like... Egg of Sticky Fingers?
What if we ask the door really nicely if it could let us in?^
"Why would you ask a door if you could get in?"
^I don't know, I'm just trying to brainstorm. I don't see you doing any better!^
"Don't get snappy with me Superc-"
^Don't. Don't you DARE. I will make your shell a HOUSE!^
"...okay... needs work, but okay."

"Ask the egg something? That could be it. Though I feel like we're missing something. Something important." Crystal said as she thought about Sanoske's advice. Could it be work? It was worth a shot?
"Hello uhh... Egg? Could you please let us in?" Crystal said to the door as nicely as she can. Yet the door showed no reaction, nor did it move when she pushed against it.
"How do you know it's an egg inside there?" Shin asked suddenly as he looked over at Crystal.
"Huh?"
"How do you know it's an egg inside there?" Shin asked again getting a little impatient.
"Well... To be honest. I just got this feeling."
"So we're all stuck here just because of some feeling you have. Well that's reassuring." Shin stated with a mix of sarcasm and venom in his voice, "Just know that my friend is out there risking his life for you. So make sure you fully know what your doing."
Crystal felt discouraged by what Shin said. It was harsh, but she knew it was true. They were all here because of some feeling she had. If she had chosen to ignore it instead of coming all the way here, she wouldn't have ended up dragging complete strangers into this. And she wasn't even completely sure her egg was in the temple anymore.

^Hey, that's just how eggs work. You get a feeling and you go to it.^
Even if Sanoske didn't like Shin's tone towards Crystal at all, prompting him to defend her in some way, he was kind of right. In the sense that there were strangers here purely because of a feeling she had. However... given some bias and personal experience, he felt that Crystal was justified in her search. Still, this was taking longer than expected.
The gazimon sighed, getting behind Crystal and slightly messaged her head and ears (well, as best as he could given their size differences), growling soothingly.
^Just relax... open your mind... I'm here for you...^
"Do you want me to blow open the door!?"
Sanoske turned to see Ghost, shouting at them from afar. She was looking quite worn, having taken lots of hits for them. Still, at the moment she would be able to attempt to blow open the door if the others were okay with it. Because, really, it might be better to do that instead of waiting for her to solve it.

40 thieves? Why does that sound so familiar? She's sure if she could figure that out, she'll be able to solve this stupid riddle. Wait... Could it be?
"If whatever is in there is so important for us to anger the locals. I say we go with the her suggestion and just blow the doors open. Don't know why you didn't try it earlier."
"Wait... I figure it out. I can't believe I was so stupid. It didn't say egg. It said seed. The seed of 40 thieves." Crystal shouted to the others as she started to explain. "It's talking about an old story from the human world. Y'know what? Nevermind. I really hope this work." Crystal drew in a deep breath, "OPEN SESAME!"
Upon saying the passport, the doors suddenly began to creak and moan as age old mechanisms started working to allow access to the temple once again. "Hurry everyone! Inside quickly!" Crystal shouted at everybody as she looked out on the battle. Right now the best course of action as she sees it is for everyone to seek shelter within the temple and close the door behind them. Plus judging from her own past experience, she doubted they be smart enough in there current forms to open the door themselves. So they'll likely have all the time they need to come up with a plan for escape.
The inside of the temple was made mostly of stone. All along the walls there were various of painted images with runes underneath that appear to depict a story of some kind. Aged stone 'chairs' protrude from the floor with cracks on many of them. Near the chairs there were grooves that led from the walls to a raised alter in the center of the room. On top of which was a strange looking egg.

And finally, the door was opened thanks to Crystals knowledge of old stories from the human world. Sanoske was ecstatic to see the large doors give way to the travelers, and they all ran in, with Ghost staying outside.
"You guys go on ahead! I'll make sure none of these guys get through!"
"Huh? Hey, don't sacrifice your life when we got a way in, comrade! Let's go!"
"Seriously I'll be fine! Just go!"
Rolento would find himself pulled inside by Sanoske, and taking along the less-panicked Pata as well. Once all were inside, Sanoske looked around. This was fairly impressive to him, thinking back on bits and pieces of inherited memories from his creator about places like these.
And atop the alter, passed the chairs and stories on the wall, was the egg. The reason they were there in the first place.
^Well, here we are, Crys. Good job.^
Rolento looked a bit down, not paying attention to the egg. He wasn't okay with just leaving Ghost out there like that. Even if she was the strongest one, she was taking the bulk of the hits and fought the vast majority of the tribe.
"What a brave one, she was. I can only hope she escape the tribe in one piece.
But still, did she have to do all that? Risk her life just to give us safe passage so we can..."
"OH maaaannnn I need a good rest after all that! My body hurts all over!"
Ghost fazed through the wall in her HyldenImpmon form, startling the Ankylomon. Considering they just met, she figured Rolento didn't know she could, in this form at least, go through solid matter.
"Anyway... what were you saying Rolento?"[/color}
"Nothing... nothing important, really..."
