Exploring the City (Agumaru)

"Luckily I can't remember any of it," Shoutmon tells Agumaru. "And I have no idea what my armor form will look like... if we'll ever be able to activate it in the first place."
The group then arrived at the so-called junk shop, which... looked like it was abandoned. There was just one door and no windows, and the whole place looked very strange. "Are you sure it's not, like, a drug dealer's place or something?"
"What's a drug?"
"Nevermind..." Adrian says as they peer inside the strange looking building. Inside, they saw a bunch of items that ranged in quality, probably worth looking at. However, the giant elephant in the room was definitely the Digimon that seemed to be this shop's owner. Adrian had never seen a Digimon like him before. "Uh... hello there..." Adrian greets the supposed owner of the shop.

"Someday you'll figure out your armor," Agumaru promises, "And if you want, you can always call on my help to... well... help. Though if you want it to be a private journey of self-reflection, I won't stop you!" He didn't stop to think of how they would get in contact with each other if Shoutmon does wish to request his aid.
After arriving at the junk shop, Adrian mentions it looking more like a drug dealer's place, and Shoutmon asks what a drug is. "Wait... I think I've heard of drugs. I believe... they enhance your attributes temporarily but damage your life span and may cause a crash when they wear off. They are very illegal in arena battles but... some mons gotta win at all costs. But no, this is definitely the junk shop!"
The Digimon behind the counter - Karatenmon - opens one eye to stare at the new customers. "Oh... well whaddya know," he sleepily comments, "some'n come to see me. Welcome, welcome! You lost an' lookin' for directions, or did you mean to end up at the junk shop?"

Adrian groaned. "The thought of Digimon using drugs makes me sick to my stomach. And Agumaru, drugs are a lot worse than what you described. They don't just shorten your life, but they can make you really, really sick, and that 'attribute boost' becomes less and less apparent unless you take more. Then you die from an overdose."
"So they'll learn and know better in- oh, right..."
"Yeah, humans only have one life. And once they're done, they're done..."
When Adrian and Shoutmon entered the junk shop, they were greeted by the owner, Karatenmon. And when Karatenmon looked over at them, they were both immediately intimidated. This Digimon looked super, super creepy...
"H-Hello sir," Adrian says, trying to be as nice and calm as possible. "Our friend here invited us here to this junk shop..." He immediately turned away from Karatenmon to observe the items. Even still, he could feel his cold hard stare going THROUGH him. Shoutmon also looked around too, mainly for music related objects.

The Karatenmon was very intimidating. While those that can judge alignments would not pick him up as evil, there was an aura of intimidation around him. It was like he could stare into your soul. He must be incredibly dangerous for -
"Hey Chirpy! Been a while!" Agumaru waves his arms to get his attention. "How's business, buddy?"
"Huh? ...oh, Agumaru!" His other eye shoots open as he stretches out with a crickle of his spine. "Haha, my favorite customer! How ya been kiddo?"
"Not bad, found a Digimental and - "
"Oh really? You lookin' to sell it? Haha, kiddin', kiddin'. You got it to work?"
"Yeah, I can- oh, sorry, I haven't introduced you guys. This is Chirpy, he runs the junk shop. Chirpy, these are my friends Adrian and Shoutmon."
"Nice to meetcha, what brings you two here?"
There were plenty of used instruments. Some that were once broke in half or smashed into pieces, now expertly put back together, the only signs of damage being small thin lines where they were once split. Others were in more perfect condition. However, all of them were scattered and hidden among all kinds of other items and objects, so Shoutmon would have to go search them out.

Adrian breathed a sigh of relief when Karatenmon acted more friendly than before, confirming that he and Agumaru did indeed know each other... and that Karatenmon probably just went along with Agumaru's identity crisis thing going on.
"It's nice to meet you... Chirpy," Adrian greets him with a short wave. "We're not looking for anything specific, we just came to check this place out." Adrian then began to scan Chirpy with his D-Arc. "Hm... Karatenmon... ultimate level, too." He stopped scanning Chirpy and began to browse around the various items of the shop, hoping to find something interesting.
"Do you have anything musical?" Shoutmon asks, unable to find the instruments even if they were in plain sight. "You know, like guitars or banjos, or even karaoke? I don't see anything of that sort here."

The Karatenmon - Chirpy - smiles as well as a Karatenmon can smile. "Go ahead and look around! We have all kinds of things!" He makes a wide sweeping gesture to his wares. "Jus'... please buy som'n, please. Been a slow week. Not that I'm pressurin' ya to buy anythin'."
He then takes stock of his wares with a single quick glance. "I seem to have two guitars! There's one over there-" he points at a guitar that seems to be on its second life. If you look closely, you just might possibly be able to see near-invisible cracks. It was a simple guitar, wooden and unpainted. "That one was a toughie to repair. The parts ended up in two different packets! But it sounds beautiful! Then there's that one over there." He points to another guitar that practically sparkles. A shiny red guitar with white trim, it looks like it has never even been touched. "That one's practically new, but the sound... it is... okay. Pretty enough to hang on a wall, but sounds just good enough I s'pose."
Meanwhile, Agumaru was checking out some trading cards. "oh, I don't have this one! Hm... have two of this one. This one's great!" He then gasps. "This is...'Dusty' Angelo! Yes, yes! This one's not too rare, but.. I've known him! To think he's an up-and-coming..."

"Hmmmm... mind if I try them out?" Shoutmon asks, not waiting for an answer before grabbing the guitar that was put back together, although he picked it up carefully. He positioned it in the correct position and strummed it, seeing how the guitar sounded. After that, he took a look at the red one, which seemed to resonate more with him. Shoutmon took that guitar and strummed it, as well.
"I have some spare bits," Adrian tells Chirpy. "If I don't find anything I'll be happy to donate some to you. I know what it's like to be broke and homeless." He thens begin to browse what the Karatenmon had in stock. He was quite surprised by what he had seen.
"...are these items from the human world?" Adrian asks as he picks up a busted camera. He notices other things, too: slingshots, photographs, little human knick knacks. Hell, there was a perfectly functioning flat screen TV with the brand "Zony" on the front of it.

Agumaru was still standing there, excited about the card he found, too distracted to stop Shoutmon from touching everything. However, there was no need, as Chirpy saw no problem with Shoutmon testing out the guitars. Sure enough, as Chirpy said, the simpler, repaired guitar sounded better than the new, fancy one. "You don't have to be that careful about it," he says proudly. "It ain't broken any more! You could probably hit a Greymon over the head with one an' not break it."
He balks at the mention of donate bits, however. "No no, I couldn't accept that, I'm sure there's somethin' you'd like to buy and if not, I'll be fine. I'm not too proud to beg, but I am too proud to beg when there's still somethin' I can do. So don't worry about it."
Finally, he's asked if the goods came from the Human World. "Well... some of them have. You'd be surprised what floats down from there. Things that humans throw away when they still can be fixed, 'tis a shame, really. Though can't say nuthin' about that, as most of the stuff comes from the Digital World, so Digimon are no better."

"This has a nice sound to it," Shoutmon says, as he continued to strum the wooden, fixed up guitar. Eventually, he began actually strumming notes instead of strumming it randomly. It was clear that Shoutmon's talent was unmatched by any other Digimon, and for five to six minutes he played probably one of the most beautiful songs that anyone could have ever heard on a guitar. When he was done, Adrian gave him a standing ovation.
"Wow," Adrian cheers, impressed. "You play guitar way better than my brother, and he rocks at the guitar!"
"Please, please, no autographs," Shoutmon teasingly said as he bowed.
Adrian turned his attention back to Chirpy. "Oh, it's no issue at all, trust me. Digimon do need to eat and have a nice home, after all. Trust me; I know from experience." Adrian continues looking around, but then he ends up spotting something... interesting. He picked it up, and took a closer look at it:
It seemed to be a... golden piece of armor, with a pink flower glued to the front of it. "Hey, what can you tell me about this?"
Turns out, Chirpy has no idea what it is, and it had been in his shop for as long as he could remember.

Agumaru jams to the sweet sound of Shoutmon's guitar-playing skills - whether or not it was the kind of song you jam to. Happy music, sad music, energetic music, slow music... music was for dancing your heart out! Chirpy listens intently, not moving a muscle until it is over, then applauds. "Not bad, not bad at all! It is like this guitar was made for ya! In fact... half off the price!"
About the donation, however, Chirpy shakes his head. "Can't do that," he says adamantly, "if I have problems, it is my own fault. Chose a bad profession in a bad location. And it isn't like I haven't been homeless before!"
"Come on, Chirpy... it is not your fault! You followed your passion right?"
"Yes, that's what makes it my fault."
Agumaru may be the one with the Digimental of Determination, but he quickly gives up. No use arguing with him.
"Hm... I've seen that lyin' around," Chirpy says, "No idea what it is though. Looks pretty though. Tell you what, you're the only one that I've seen take interest in it, so... five bits. Unless you buy the guitar, and then you can have it for free."

"Really?" Shoutmon asks Chirpy, amazed that he was willing to give the two of them a deal as good as that. "We'll take it! Right, Adrian?"
"Sure, if you can find some way to hide it," Adrian says. He takes a look at how much the guitar would originally cost, then takes out half as many Digits, with an extra five added on, even though Chirpy said the armor piece was free. After paying, Adrian showed the weird artefact to Shoutmon and Agumaru.
"Look at this, Shoutmon," Adrian says, holding out the strange armor and flower piece. "This is a weird little knick knack, don't you think? Where do you-"
"Lia?" Shoutmon immediately asks as he takes a look at the armor piece, confusing Adrian to no end.
"Excuse me?"
"Wait... what did I just say? Who in the world is Lia?"
"You tell me - you're the one who just instantly said that."
"My hunger must be melting my brain..." Shoutmon concludes. "Is it time to eat yet?"
"Let's check out one more place first. Hey... Chirpy, was it? What are other parts of the city worth visiting?"

Chirpy calmly counts the Bits, then notices that there seem to be a few extra. He is obviously about to say something, but then laughs and shakes his head. "Okay," he sighs, "okay..." It seems that is that. "Would you like something to carry these in?"
Agumaru purchases all the trading cards, grinning ear to (lack of) ear. "Thanks Chirpy! You're a real friend!"
"Thank you for what? This is a fair an' even trade, you just bought these. Not like I gave them to ya. I should be thanking you! ...in fact I will. Thank you!"
Agumaru turns over to Shoutmon, only to notice him staring at the purchased artifact. Lia is brought up, though Shoutmon doesn't know why. "Maybe," Agumaru suggests, "this is some kind of thing that hypnotizes the person holding it to say 'Lia'. Not sure exactly who would make something like that or why. Lemme try!" He holds out his hands and waits.
As for the best places in town.. "It really depends on what yer lookin' for. Seems food is waitin' for later so maybe... ah, of course. Shoutmon, you seem into music, there's a music store nearby." He scribbles down the directions and hands back something that looks like it was written by a drunken doctor with dyslexia.

"Yeah, that would be great," Adrian tells Chirpy, then waits for him to find a case or something for Shoutmon's new guitar, which he was absolutely giddy about.
"Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you, Adrian!" Shoutmon thanked his partner over and over and over again.
Adrian chuckled as Shoutmon acted like he had just drunk ALL of the coffee. "No problem, Shoutmon..." He then turns his attention back to the piece of armor. Shoutmon obviously knew something about it... who else would randomly just call out someone's name upon seeing it? Upon further inspection, Adrian noticed something...
"You know, the gold on this reminds me of SuperShoutmon's armor, doesn't it?" He asks as he hands the piece to Agumaru for him to look at it. He then turns to Chirpy and accepts the directions... but then is absolutely appalled by the handwriting on the paper. He couldn't tell if it was another language or just absolutely broken Japanese...
Adrian sweats as he shows the Digimon the directions. "C...Can any of you read this?"

Chirpy quickly retrieves a guitar case for Shoutmon's guitar. It was almost a perfect fit, just a bit too big for that guitar but almost not noticeable. "Here you go, no extra cost! But uh..." He looks at the weird armor fragment. "Not sure what to do about that. You want a bag or somethin' for it?" He reaches behind him and pulls out a fabric grocery bag. "This should be big enough." It did appear to be so.
Agumaru smiles at just how happy Shoutmon was. "I'm glad you're glad," Agumaru gladly says. "This trip was definitely worthwhile! I hope our next stop has you just as excited!"
That was an odd reaction, Agumaru admits, though he keeps his thoughts to himself. He examines the weird object that Adrian and Agumaru bought, turning it over a few times. Why would he act like that about the armor piece unless...
"Hm. Nope. No urge to say Lia- oh no I said it! Maybe it is hypnotic after all!" He quickly hands it to Adrian. "Spooky!"
The writing... it was... almost decipherable. "I... um.... I think that's a street address right there... and I think that might be a number... aha, I think I got it! Just follow me!"

Adrian rolled his eyes at Agumaru's reason for why Shoutmon said what he said. It was just a piece of golden armor with a nice flower attached to it... couldn't be that bad, right?
"Hm...? Oh, uh, yeah," Adrian says as he snaps out of his thoughts, taking the fabric grocery bag and putting the strange piece of armor inside of it. "Thank you very much, um... Chirpy, was it? I'll be sure to let others know of this place. Who knows, you might get more customers. Stores like this are popular in my world... well, ones that don't look like drug dealer's houses, no offense."
Adrian and Shoutmon nod to Agumaru, say their goodbyes to Chirpy, and follow Agumaru to where he thinks the music shop is. As they walked, Shoutmon began to groan.
"Ugh... I have a headache... and my belly hurts... and I'm tired..."
"Really?" Adrian asks. "Oh no... maybe we should stop for food then-"
"No! Music shop! I need to see the music shop!"
Adrian just stared at Shoutmon incredulously. "Y...Oh, you're serious? Okay, then..."
