Shoutmon was appalled by Agumaru's advice. "To hell with that, Agumaru! This situation... this horrible, horrible scenario... it's mine. I want to find out what's happening to me. If Adrian wants to help me, that is his decision. But that doesn't change the fact that this is my problem, not his. I am going to help him, no matter what."
"Shoutmon..." Adrian says, not entirely sure what to say. "...don't worry, buddy. We'll do it, no problem!"
Shoutmon smiled at his human partner. He couldn't remember the last time he felt this close with someone... at least, that he could consciously remember. He then remembered all the delicious food that was still there. "Alright, let's get digging!" He cheers, back to his old enthusiasm.
Needless to say, that food did not last ten minutes before being completely devoured. Shoutmon let out a small burp before sighing and lying back in the seat, rubbing his now full belly. "Aah, my belly is happy now!"

Agumaru was not expecting such strong backlash. "Okay, okay," he says, putting up his hands as if trying to block an attack. "I'm just worried about you, okay? I don't want you losing it on us. Dark impulses and dark truths could be a very bad combination. I know I wouldn't be able to handle it. But..." He smiles softly, relaxing just a little. "If you think you can, then I trust you. Whatever you choose, I'm behind you on it."
Adrian and Shoumon were such a great team. Agumaru had nobody like that. He was alone. There would be nobody there to catch him if he fell. "You two are so lucky to have each other," he sighs. "I'm happy for you." He was also slightly jealous, but not in an angry sense. They DESERVED each other. He'll just have to work twice as hard. He also works twice as hard as a normal Digimon in eating all of his food. "Compliments to the chef!"

"To be honest, I was freaked out when I first met Shoutmon," Adrian admitted. "My family had gone through a lot of shit in the last few years. Moving from house to house, never staying in the same place for more than a year... it was really tough."
"And I honestly didn't know who I truly was," Shoutmon admits. "I was like you, Agumaru. Just... wandering the Digital World, training to be the best... something. I honestly had no goal in life."
"Then suddenly, Shoutmon jumped out of a TV in my world. Man, you should have seen how freaked out I was at the time."
Digitamamon walked by the group's table with the check. When he placed it down on the table, Adrian took a look at it. After staring at the bill for a few seconds, he looked at the Digimon. "We are never ordering this much food ever again." He then showed Agumaru the bill.
It was 5,000 bits.

"Wow..." Agumaru listens carefully to his two friends, nodding slowly. "I see. You two... have had quite a tough time before finding each other. It is a great thing that you did join forces then! Together, you are not just as strong as one Adrian and one Shoutmon. You are even stronger than what math says you should be!"
He finds the 'just like you' comment a bit off though. "I... actually do have a goal in my training. I'm not getting stronger for me. I'm getting stronger for my village. It needs a protector, and at the moment, it has one. Not as good as the last one, but still has one. But he's not a young, powerful Digimon. He's old, and slower than he used to be. He's still a GREAT protector, but... he'll have to step down some day. And nobody in the village is strong enough to replace him. So... I'm going to get strong enough to be its protector."
He then hears how much the bill is. "Huh. I actually have a use for all these Bits I've been carrying around. You sure you don't want me to get it? I mean, it will take a big chunk out of my savings, but... I'm not really saving it for anything."

"No no, it's fine," Adrian insists, taking out 2,500 Bits. "I can't let you pay for the whole thing yourself. But be careful next time you do go to another restaurant. Don't let your stomach make decisions for you."
"Yeah, which is why Adrian never lets me decide what we get to eat."
"Because you try to trick me into ordering absolutely everything! Trust me, this is better for my wallet, Shoutmon." Adrian then puts the 2,500 Bits for the bill on the table. Finishing up his own Miso ramen, Adrian then gets up from the table.
"Well it was great meeting up with you again, Agumaru, but Shoutmon and I have to go. We need to investigate his memories more..."
"Maybe we'll meet up again someday! I had fun hanging out today. See ya later!"
And with that, Adrian and Shoutmon left the restaurant, leaving Agumaru there alone...
