The Crucible: Part 1 [Mission] [Akemi|E&E|Kath|Sasha]

Post by Akemi & Anzu on Dec 9, 2018 13:10:27 GMT
Let's be real, it was probably better that Anzu didn't seem to hear--or care about the clown's words. He was, quite simply, beneath her notice. Not like that was hard to be, in truth, especially when there's a dinosaur in the room. That? Or all the fire that she just threw was distracting her. Akemi was more content with hanging slightly back and trying to poke...holes in how this dinosaur seemed to be handling them.
It just tanked everything thrown at it. Without so much as a meaningful scratch. Brachimon...was an Ultimate, wasn't it? Not this one, apparently. It made sense a Mega could handle what the party threw at it. Akemi put a hand to her chin as the dinosaur raised his foot up...And she saw the sigil.
That was digimoji--a language she had been meaning to learn. She knew that much. So, a rudimentary plan of sorts quickly formulated itself. "...Aim for the soles of his feet!" Let's see what that brings us. Anzu lowered herself from the air, enough to be able to try firing a Black Sabbath up at the foot, and ironically enough, supported by the clown's Breeze. She may be in range for something. She might not.
What mattered was seeing if Akemi was actually right about this.
...Why was she even down here, anyways? Up there with Katherine was way safer.
Anzu sacrifices her flying to try taking a shot at the sole of Brachimon's foot. Will that work? Who knows.
Black Sabbath: Anzu’s main mode of attack in this form. One prayer for a festival of death and she fires a colorful blast from her palm. The blast is searing hot and great for destroying the environment around Anzu. One post cooldown.
Southern Cross' defense lowering effect: 1/2 turns.
Cooldowns: Southern Cross: 1/3 Black Sabbath: 0/1

Regarding the technique she used not having much of an effect on the creature, Jazz wasn’t at all preoccupied. After all, she knew it could take a while for it to start actually harming the monster. However, it was worrying none of her partner’s most offensives attacks had done any damage. Was this monster that strong? She sure hoped it wasn’t.
If there was something very much appreciated right now for Jazz, was the speed boost given by Souji’s evolved form. She absolutely loved being able to move even faster of what she originally did. Besides, it had actually helped her stay away of the earthquake the stomping of Brachimon had produced. It didn’t take long for her to notice Elsie was following from a safe distance, either. That was a very good idea. They probably shouldn’t stay too close to each other to avoid being damaged by a technique that could affect a whole area, but they should also avoid being completely separated.
Actually, the fact of being close enough to each other, allowed Jazz to see the strange symbol in the sole of the digimon’s foot as he attempted to stomp on her partner. She was immediately able to identify what it was. It was one of the letters digimon used to write and communicate. One of those Katherine was able to read like if they were regular human letters. What could it possibly mean? It was hard to tell for the hog from that distance. She was about to jump in and help the former red-eyed, but... well, Anzu was definitely taking the most obvious approach, attacking the symbol!
“Jasso! There’s a symbol at the sole of its foot. I don’t know what it means but it’s right there.” It was probably the time to look for some extra support.
Katherine’s green eyes scanned the scene, trying to process everything that was taking place. “So that’s why Anzu is using that technique against that specific spot.” The Spaniard squinted, while she tried to think on another possibility. Regardless if the Mephistomon’s plan was going to have a positive outcome for them, it was probably a good idea to try something else too, in case it wasn’t as simple as that. Sadly, if Katherine couldn’t see it, she couldn’t tell what the symbol meant, so they would have to try something else, not related to making an interpretation about the meaning of the pattern.
“Jazz! Aim for one of the other feet, try to make it stumble.” Katherine immediately ordered. If they could manage to at least make it lift another of its feet, they could see if it had another symbol written there too.
The pig-girl then made her hammer appear at her hands and funneled all of her power into the object. She was entirely focused on making the monster lift another foot. And if she wanted to succeed, the time to try this was right now, when its balance was compromised from lifting one of its legs.
“Here I go!” Jazz took advantage of the speed conferred by Wizardmon’s technique and drew closer to the monster’s right front foot. “It's time to... CRUSH!” The Chohakkaimon would then swing her Roketto Dingpa, fire coming from the exhaust pipes at its back, clobbering the Brachimon's foundations. She tried to keep her aim as low as she could, going for the right side of the foot. Hopefully, this would at least annoy the beast enough to make it lift it. And, if she was lucky enough, could make it lose its footing.
Once the contact was made, the ground around Jazz would break, causing a tremor that could extend through the whole stage. This was a brutal technique, no doubt. While she unleashed this attack, Jazz could only hope Elsie could leave unharmed after the dinosaur's attempt to stomp her. She was honestly worried about her.
-CRUSH!!!: Chohakkaimon gathers all of her energy in her Roketto Dingpa to then slam the opponent with all of her might. As simple as that. The skies roar, the ground breaks, the earth trembles. This is Chohakkaimon's strongest technique. 5 posts cooldown.
Danger Love's cooldown: 1/5 Danger Love's duration: 1/5

Post by Elsie and Evie on Dec 11, 2018 23:51:46 GMT
Perhaps, the smile on Evie's lips became a little more obvious, unfaltering even with the insult to her intelligence. Why take insult? After all, the only people who would take offense to such a comment would be someone who truly wasn't smart. Taking pride in her intelligence was enough to keep her from even acknowledging that someone could think otherwise. Instead, she'd answer the inquiry of her name. Was it an actual question? Or rhetorical? Either way, she wanted to be sure that the Duskmon knew who he was talking to. "Evie," she stated, still fine with how the negotiation seemed to be progressing.
Speaking of intelligence, did Elsie know what kind of danger she was in right now? A foot was lifted directly above the H-Hybrid. Inevitably, head lifted to assess her situation. What was that symbol? A flash of a 'memory' -- some sort of writing that contained the marking. Of course, even Elsie was aware that she'd never seen the symbol.
Digimon had their own alphabet, didn't they?
This was something her spirits would know, far better than she ever could.
Body reacted before her mind could catch up, electricity crackling across rapiers, as Stunning Dance activated. The Champion lifted 'claws' upward, to drag across the bottom of foot that had quickly become the target of more than just her own attack -- as Anzu's own attack seemed to be marking the same foot. Trying to use the advantage of speed that was provided by Wizardmon, regardless of if her blades would truly slash across the sole of the foot, it seemed that she would clear the stomping path in just enough time to avoid being completely crushed.
The shockwave, however? That had been inevitable even if Elsie had focused entirely on fleeing! And, having selected the chance to cause damage, over creating a safer distance, the spirit user was easily thrown by the force. While not breaking form, when the Matadormon hit the ground from the shockwave, she wasn't making any rapid motions to get onto her feet.
A metallic hiss came from the digimon's mask -- the only indicator that not only was she alive, but she was pissed.
On a physically safer standpoint, Evie watched the fight out of the corner of her eye, briefly. Long enough to watch others attacking, and her sister almost getting crushed. She had better not make Evie lose her weight in this discussion.
"If your defenses are so strong," she dared to inquire, "then how does Kara-nam cause problems for you?" After all, someone so strong shouldn't have any problems getting rid of their own problems, right? "You act like an alliance with us is a bad thing for your settlement. From my understanding, you have nothing to lose from it." Why was the Duskmon so opposed? Would he entertain the questions? Or shove them aside?
To avoid coming off as ignoring the question posed, she followed up with, "our city is ambitious, yes. But, we are intelligent. I suspect we may have a balance that neither Tayichi'tai nor Kara-nam have on their own. You may not need physical assistance, but we surely have -- or can acquire -- whatever is necessary to cover any weakness." Now, her own view shifted to look at the battle. Was Duskmon going to permit her to get anywhere with this discussion? Or, was it all useless? She had to wonder, briefly. After all, if it was going to be a waste of time, she didn't have much to lose ultimately. To be entirely honest, she wasn't even sure what was an acceptable negotiation! What would the others be willing to agree to?
"Our 'founders' do not stay exclusively to the Dark Area, either. So, we're capable of obtaining supplies from anywhere." Placing her hands behind her back, the blonde continued her small smile. "We would like to see the Dark Area flourish. What does your stronghold require to do so?" A quick pause was made before adding, "if Kara-nam is truly your only problem, we can assist in a solution. But, it will not involve their deaths."
As far as she was concerned, it was unwise to place another offer on the table until she could establish what sort of offers might work. Otherwise, it would definitely become a waste of both of their time. All Evie had to go on was that the stronghold did not like Kara-nam, and that their economy was less than stellar. If only the teen had been given time to do some more research first!
Elsie attempts to shock and cut into the bottom of Brachiomon's foot while running out from beneath it, using Stunning Dance. While escaping the actual stomp from assistance of Souji's Breeze of Victory, the shockwave throws her onto the ground.
Stunning Dance: Whirls toward an enemy with electricity running through its blades. Attempts to slash and shock any target unlucky enough to get into arm's reach.

Well everyone is rushing ahead and going head on and fighting the digimon straight on, which made Wizardmon both happy and disappointed at the same time. Because first of all the Wizardmon is not the type to attack with the strength of a mighty warrior or something like that, but at the same time, a little plan or formation that is a little more clever than charging in spraying and praying but eh, this only means that the Wizardmon has to play backup and fight from a distance. And moments later when the enemy digimon lifted his leg Wizardmon saw some symbol, this brought a smile to the relatively short wizard digimon, a possible weakness identified now to hope the others saw it and know what to do. Luckily for the Wizardmon they did see it, unlucky for him Akemi thought it would be fine to call it out to let the enemy know that they know, rookie mistake. "Damn it, well we lost the element, we could have a hold over the information to ourselves knowledge is far more important than people give it credit for. But damn she is a Rookie, only an idiot will do that." The wizardmon said to himself as he was the only one to not charge ahead with the rest of the team.
(You know to be fair, I would have not done that.)
"And that just proves my point, any ways time to work my magic if you would. Just like I speed up my allies I would slow down my enemies, take this." The wizardmon summoned a giant bird made of ice, waving his wand the Wizard controlled the very movement of the bird, he then command it to attack the enemy, he knew that he would do little to no damage but that is not the intent, he is currently not the main damage dealer.
Back to Isabella, the tiny fairy would soon feel something menacing behind her only to hear some barking getting louder, did she get caught ? But the device makes her invisible, could it be that her pursuers were following her scent ? That was the only possible answer, so the tiny fairy immediately shrinked herself even more to the point of being the size of an actual fly give or take. She then immediately flew to the closest wall, holding her breath trying to study the situation as that was her best option right now.
BATTLE LOG : The Breeze of victory : 1 turn has passed, 1 left
Wizardmon uses an attack
Ice Eagle : Wizardmon summons an Eagle made of Ice, that flies at the target at high speeds, clashing with them causing an okay amount of damage, but decreases their speed by 15% for 2 turns (2 post cooldown )

Much to Sasha's annoyance, it seemed a direct attack to the dinosaur's eyes was not as effective as she was hoping. Seemed like the difference in strenght was just that noticeable. In fact, none of the team's attack seemed to be doing as much of a dent on Brachimon. Just as she was about to revise her strategy (that admitedly wasn't more elaborate than "attack until it dies"), she took note of the glowing symbol on the Brachimon's sole. Was that Digimoji? If only she had time to stop and ask Sieg on the significance of that...whatever. Everyone seemed to be targetting it, so she followed suit, stabbing her large sword into the dirty ground of the arena. The blade dug into the floor, a bright circular sigil appearing under her feet moments later. A pair of Musyamon emerged from the mist, visually indistinguishable from Sasha's own form if you ignored the piercing red light emanating from their eyes. The spirit wielder then simply pointed in the direction of the dinosaur's foot as if issuing a wordless order. The two musyamon charged forward with a devilish speed, not making a single sound. As the foot was brought down, the duo would detonate in a large explosion which should easily catch such a large and slow moving target in the blast, but would it actually do anything to it? That remained to be seen. For now, Sasha merely kept her distance as she let her clones do the damage for her, while she focused on not being caught by the Brachimon's retaliation...something one of the twins wasn't as lucky with. "Don't you dare take a breather now, Elsie! Get up already and help us put this thing's bones in a musseum!" She yelled at the Matadormon, (wilfully?) unaware of how much she had been hurt. After all, what better encouragement one could ask for than some mostly good natured taunting? It worked for her, at least. Sasha stays back and targets the Brachimon's sole with Hell's Army.
Hell's Army: Plants his sword in the ground, summoning behind him two spectral reflections of whatever she's fighting (or herself), which will then charge towards the original source of the "reflection", exploding into a fiery burst once they are in range of their target or if they are hit by an attack. Three posts cooldown, can only be done twice per opponent in the same thread.
Passive: I BRING WAR: Conflict fuels this spirit, and as the fight rages on so does the escalation of his tactics. For every turn that he spends fighting he increases his strenght by 10%. This can stack up to four times, though if he is unable to deal damage for two posts in a row all the stacks will be lost. At any time during the fight they can focus all the accumulated stacks into one of their other offensive abilities, increasing the ability's damage by twice the amount of stacked power (I.E. making the attack be 80% stronger with four stacks). After doing this however they can't accumulate more stacks for the next 3 turns.
Durations:
Stacks of I BRING WAR: (1/4)
Cooldowns:
Hell's Army: (0/3)
Vorpal Cut: (1/3)

Bella's own struggle would definitely get harder if she didn't think quickly. While she shrank, the barks began to subside, but that didn't mean the Dobermons' presence became any fainter; if anything, a trio of them was already on the same street than the Tinkermon. Insistently, they began to sniff around, as if searching for clues or leads regarding their quarry. Slowly, but surely, the Dobermons began to close the distance that separated them from Bella. The situation wasn't hard to evaluate; everything pointed at... the digimon most likely getting caught if she didn't act on the situation in front of her. That left a single question hanging in the air. What would she do? Now, what in regards to the rest of the group? The quick way to summarize it was to say that the group getting mixed, albeit mostly positive results. First off, Anzu's attack; the first ability to hit the sole of Brachimon's foot didn't seem to deal a noteworthy amount of damage, even though the symbol engraved there began to shine faintly. On the second successful hit, courtesy of Elsie, the symbol shone way brighter, almost as if it were about to explode at the next contact. Something that... happened, quite literally, as soon as the Musyamon clones crashed against it. A loud boom ensued, and while Jazz's and Souji's attacks had mostly been outwardly ineffective, their enemy was beginning to fall onto its side, pretty much on top of the Cho-Hakkaimon unless she managed to get out of the gigantic dinosaur's way! Meanwhile, Duskmon watched how the combat developed intently, his expression becoming a bit... excited in the face of Brachimon falling. "Would you look at that; seems like I've underestimated the amount of teamwork you're able to pull off. That, or your group was quite lucky. We'll find out in a bit, Evie." What was happening in the Duskmon's mind was a mystery, or at least it seemed like that. What about the blonde's proposal? Would it be that he was legitimately thinking about it? Or maybe he was thinking of a suitable counter offer? Both seemed equally likely. "Don't doubt of Tayichi'tai's strength ever again. That'll be the last mistake you will make." The digimon's tone was low, but it didn't sound any different from his usual. Maybe he was just naturally threatening? "If this situation could be solved by a mere show of force, we would've crushed Kara-nam a long time ago. However, the situation isn't that simple." Evie could probably take those words as an implicit answer to her queries or those just being brushed aside. Both were fair assessments "The stronghold has an infestation of spies and double agents. Kara-nam's slimy talons and false promises have turned some of our citizens against us. That is our main problem." It could be said that the digimon was being a lot more straightforward at the moment. "We've removed those unwanted elements at any chance we got, but it's just a plague that never ends, and Kara-nam just feigns ignorance while this issue continues. We'd crush the fortress on our own, but an information leak at an inopportune time would just end in a disaster." After Brachimon's fall, another symbol, not unlike the one in the sole of his foot appeared by the digimon's back. While slightly different, it probably held some kind of meaning as well. But, before any of the combatants could check that out,... everyone would probably find themselves in the wrong end of a way bigger shockwave than the first, mainly caused by the digimon's body unceremoniously hitting the arena. This time, it was so big and strong that it'd affect the whole arena. Even Evie would feel her seat trembling a bit! "I don't care about the Dark Area flourishing if that means we'll have spies behind closed doors. Likewise, I don't care about a bloodless resolution of those conflicts; traitors and spies are criminals and will be dealt with appropriately, whether you like it or not. Treason isn't a light offense in here, or anywhere, for that matter." After a small pause, he resumed. "If you can get all the filthy spies and anyone who's butting where they shouldn't in our city, maybe you'll be in for something a bit more serious. Offer your terms."Well, things had gotten just a bit more concise!

Post by Akemi & Anzu on Dec 21, 2018 19:13:40 GMT
The events unfolding before Akemi's eyes were by no means unspectacular. She had a slight suspicion that her shout was going to pay off somehow, and it did. Explosively.
Maybe this was the real way to damage it.
The sigils just explode like they just did. "Anzu! Find another one of those sigils!" Akemi called out before the actually bad part of Brachimon's fall occurred. That had been the final thing she said before she found herself flung back from the shockwave. She wasn't that heavy. The woes of being five feet flat.
Point is, she was on her back, a good distance away from where she was originally, and coughing a bit. Maybe she should've stayed up there. Meanwhile, with Anzu, she found it pretty difficult to fly up and around thanks to that shockwave, being briefly blown back before she was able to bounce back and get to maneuvering properly. She narrowly avoided the wall.
"Near it's back...near it's back..." The Mephistomon murmured. She circled around and decided that the best way to get to attacking the beast was simple. "Abyssal." She chanted, as a meteor promptly slammed into the floor (god knows where it came from!) and a flaming golem promptly arose, rushing towards the sigil to bring both of it's fists down upon it.
"Strike where my golem is, maybe that'll end this faster." The Mephistomon bellowed.
Anzu almost takes a wall to the face thanks to that -insane- shockwave, before she uses Abyssal and wills the Golem to strike where the next sigil is.
Abyssal [RAM Upgrade]: Anzu points one of her eldritch invocations skywards and calls down a meteor. The meteor, while something to be scared of on it's own, is actually very paltry compared to what it entails. Upon contact with the ground, the meteor reveals a flaming rock golem about Mephistomon's height that fights on Anzu's behalf for three turns and can only use a basic attack endlessly. Three turn cooldown.
Abyssal duration: 0/3 Southern Cross' defense lowering effect: 2/2 turns. - Ends this turn!
Cooldowns: Southern Cross: 2/3 Black Sabbath: 1/1 Abyssal: 0/3

Given the uncouthness of the situation, Jazz couldn’t care less whether it was thanks to her aid or not that the Brachimon was falling. She wanted it to stumble, and that was exactly what she was getting, so that was the bottom line. However, there was a huge danger coming her way, with such a massive creature falling over her. It was time to move, no doubt. The Chohakkaimon traced a path in her mind, taking the one that would optimize her escape, making the distance she would have to run be the less possible and just enough to get out of the area the dinosaur would fall on.
Katherine just stared at her partner from above. It was a good thing going into Champion hadn’t made her less smart, and she had picked up quite well what she had taught her. The result? Jazz had traced a diagonal line that pointed to the south-east and was going through it, managing to avoid being crushed by the falling Brachimon for barely a couple of meters.
Of course, the aftermath of this situation was devastating for Jazz. She was so close to the impact zone the shockwave had sent her jutted towards a wall, with the ground partially breaking below of her. Katherine could only clench her teeth, while she saw this happening. However, she was more worried about Akemi, who, even though standing much farther from the impact, also ended up being affected by it.
Seeing her friend on her back, definitely got Katherine too scared. “Akemi!” She yelled, taking part of her body out of the railing. “Are you okay!? Akemi!” She was trying to get any type of answer from her. From where she was standing, she couldn’t even see if her eyes were even open or not. Was there something she could do to get her friend out of there? This was starting to get frustrating.
On her side, Jazz was still trying to recover from that impact. It had definitely taken its toll on her. No fighting coming from her for now. Still a bit dizzy, she managed to see the symbol on Brachimon’s back. After the recent events, it did seem like her teammates would have to go for that but…

Post by Elsie and Evie on Dec 26, 2018 0:03:13 GMT
It was good to see that Elsie's almost-getting-crushed wasn't for nothing! Even Sasha's taunting wasn't! "What, you mean it's a bad time for a nap?" Matadormon heaved, sarcastically. Rolling, the Digimon began to move to its feet. Just in time to see Brachiomon leaving his. "Oh for the love of," the Champion hissed, while breaking into a run. Being so close to the falling dinosaur was never a safe option!
Luckily, she'd already been given a good taste of what the shockwaves felt like when this creature would crash down. Even though she was thrown from the force, yet again, the Matadormon landed on its feet, whirling to face the monster that was downed. Or, to face the back of the beast, really.
Convenient.
Especially with that new sigil, and Anzu's quick actions to already begin an attack on it. It was awfully hard for the bladed spirit user to miss! But at her current position, and an uncertainty toward how Brachiomon would react in its inevitable attempt to get up, Elsie decided to keep her distance. Lifting arms, to use an attack that she had already tried once before, the Digimon launched rapiers that had been tucked in its sleeves yet again. "Thousand Arrows," the Matadormon announced, as the blades raced toward the same area that Anzu had advised on attacking.
She would trust that, since Anzu wasn't panicking about her partner at the moment, Akemi would be okay.
And, Evie didn't have time to worry about the state of the tamer that had decided to be so close to the battle. Perhaps, if she were part of the fight, she'd have taken a moment to go check on the girl. Instead, she was busy with her own part of this mission. Were they lucky? Or was the team actually that good at working alongside each other? That was even a mystery to Evie, herself. But, she frequently seemed to hold luck's favor, so neither seemed a particularly bad option as to how they'd managed thus far.
Did Duskmon's 'threat' seem intimidating to her? If it had, the blonde showed no sign of it. Hands remained behind her back, leaving her stance to feel very open. While she could definitely see the problem that would be held by traitors among the stronghold, Evie couldn't actually say that she blamed them. So far, Kara-nam honestly seemed like a place that she would hold more interest in, on a personal level. But, would she say that?
Of course not.
"If they are spies, then I have no qualms for their removal in a way that you find fit," she stated, with a small shrug. If they were spies and got caught? That was their own fault. Especially when they would surely know the risks of doing such! "That said. We could negotiate with Kara-nam on your behalf, to pull their spies from your home," she suggested, nonchalantly. As if this would be the easiest thing in the world!
She wouldn't dare mention that they had a spy of their own, lurking someplace in the city. Bella had better not get caught at a time like this. "And, if they do refuse," she added, tone thoughtful, "we will find a method to ensure that they won't be sending more spies your way." Would that mean getting their own hands 'bloody' in the process? Evie would leave it to interpretation. "Though, for us to ensure such efforts are worthwhile, I would be expecting more permanence on a truce between our city and Tayichi'tai." Surely, Duskmon would have seen that sort of 'price' coming from a mile away, though, wouldn't he? "After all, the truce would only be effective if we carried out our part of the deal. Removing a thorn, of this extent, from your side seems only fair that our peace would be long-lasting."
But, would Duskmon find that reasonable? It felt like, as long as the battle continued to prove successful on her team's side, it may not matter too much. Only time would tell.
Elsie is thrown back again, but overall unharmed, by Brachiomon's fall. She uses Thousand Arrows at the sigil, alongside where Anzu's golem is striking.
Thousand Arrows: Reveals the rapiers under its sleeves, which are then launched at a target.

As time went on the dobermon got closer and closer to the Tinkermon, Isabella was afraid the fairy was not only an amateur when it comes to fighting on her own her insanely useful shrinking ability had one major downside, just as she is small as a fly she also has the strength of one. Isabella knew that if she gets caught its game over for her, this stronghold probably hates spies so getting caught sneaking around would surely end badly for Tinkermon.
Despite her growing fear of death the fairy was able to think of multiple solution to her worrisome situation and then something came to hear, something that she should have thought of had the spectre of death not loomed ever so closely. The dobermons must have used scent to try and track her down, its the only logical answer. So in conclusion the bracelet was not only bland looking, it was nigh-useless at this point, good thing Isabella's skills as a spy comes from her natural born skills of shrinking combined with high proficiency in flight, using both the fairy bolted for the food truck hoping to take refuge inside and pray for the smell of food to mask her own scent and fool the dobermons making them stop chasing her.
Back to the battle underneath, the wizardmon was quite far behind and fought using ranged attacks thus making him not really worry about the impact the enemy made, the distance he had combined with the spirit's very swift reactions made it so that dodging became a trivial thing. He Noticed what the others are trying to do and he decided to watch and wait biding his time before acting, thanks to his nature as a wizard he can't dictate the flow of battle and just wait. This infuriated the spirit, his pride was damaged as he could not stand being chained down by a lot of limitations, but it is what it is so for now Wizardmon stands idly by ready to follow up his next ally move or act when an opening present itself

Somewhat surprisingly for Sasha, not only had they been able to survive this long, but they were actually starting to make some actual progress, as the sigil on the Brachiomon's feet reacted to the barrage of attacks, eventually exploding and seemingly causing the beast to lose its footing. That was all fine and good, but left them with another problem: the effect something that big would have when crashing against the ground. Seeing the dinosaur fall, she braced herself for the impact, raising her now slightly glowing sword in front of her. Even at that distance, the ensuing shockwave was more than enough to send the ogre and almost everyone else flying back (including, rather worryingly poor Akemi). The Musyamon slammed back first against one of the arena walls, leaving a nice crack on the stone and making her lose her breath for just a moment as she fell to her knees. Sasha soon got back up however, eyes seething with anger glaring at the fallen beast. She didn't know what was worse, to be sent flying by a mega this easily, or the fact she had been sent flying by something that could hardly be considered an attack. She was about to let out a (probably rather extensive) string of insults, but her eyes soon noticed the new glowing seal that had appeared on the digimon's back, one that looked rather similar to the one they had destroyed a moment prior. Seeing her teammates reactions to it and hearing Anzu's commanding words, the strategy to follow was fairly obvious, keep aiming at those seals with all they had until something happened. And so she did just that. She charged once again in the dinosaurs' direction with a bellowing roar, her sword thrusting forward with a glow, a shockwave not unlike the one resently caused by Brachimon's (though far less powerful, of course) was sent in the direction of the seal. Sasha is thrown back by Brachiomon's fall, taking some damage but absorbing some of the shockwave, and retaliates by sending it back with Blades of Conquest.
Blades of Conquest: Musyamon's sword glows with energy, absorbing the power of whatever element the sword came in contact with, afterwhich it can be released into a powerful long range (30 feet) slash of said element. Two posts cooldown.
Durations:
Stacks of I BRING WAR: (2/4)
Cooldowns:
Blades of Conquest: (0/2)
Hell's Army: (1/3)
Vorpal Cut: (2/3)

It seemed that the group's luck was... beginning to run out. Or at least that it's taken a bit of a dip, considering their current situation. So, what had exactly happened? When barely moving, and almost unconscious on the floor, the symbol in the Brachimon's back took the first strike from Anzu's Abyssal; it began glowing once again, just like the first time such a mark had been struck. However, the second and third strike didn't have the effect they did in the past, rather than a stronger shine, the light just faded, not showing any indication of coming back on further strikes.
Could that be related to the number of strikes each symbol had to receive? Or maybe the difference in shape mean something... else? Those were leads and their possible conclusions were something the group had to find out on their own; one thing was for sure, though. Their time was running out.
Once any trace of light from the mark on the digimon's back vanished, in an outstanding show of vigor and swiftness, the group's foe would rise again. A casual observer would even say that he was completely unscathed, even if a more careful observer could tell that the beast wasn't quite ready to attack yet.
With Brachimon's rise, Duskmon's interest seemed to have completely evaporated. "Seems like, at the end of the day, they've just gotten lucky." Was there any point on keeping on with the negotiations by now? At the very least, the group would have to reverse their current situation for that to happen. "Maybe you should just leave the group that's weighing you down and join Tayichi'tai." While not enthused, even at his own words, the dark knight's words seemed genuine. "I'm sure that you've caught how simple was the test in front of them. And how they are failing at it."
Was that everything the digimon would say for now? Not quite. "But, if by chance they manage to survive through the fight, I guess I'll leave my offer here; negotiating the withdrawal of spies, if successful, would do the trick. But that is very likely to fail. And when it does, you'll have to find Kara-nam's, or any other spies in Tayichi'tai's midst. And take care of them... personally. Won't settle for anything less."
Would that be reasonable to Evie? Or reasonable overall? To say the least, it was an interesting proposition. Bella's foray into the food cart seemed to have thrown the Dobermons off their track, or at least distracted them temporarily. But... how long would that diversion last? Whether that was an immediate concern for her or not, a lone package within the cart would be her only companion while she waited.
It was plain, without any labels, and not very big. But that wasn't important at the moment, was it?

Post by Akemi & Anzu on Jan 5, 2019 9:24:47 GMT
Akemi pulled herself up, before she witnessed the Brachimon getting back up. What...? "...There should be something else to do there..." The girl mused as she tried to think of what things they hadn't covered. Anzu's golem was there so physical attacks were already covered. Maybe...They needed to moderate the number of attacks they did?
She glanced up, and over to Katherine. Who was rather distant all things considered. Far up above. She had heard her while she was on the ground, though. A clear voice amidst a blur of other noises. "I'm alright! Please don't worry about me, not gonna go poof again! Promise!" It was mostly in jest but she was also pretty serious about that, too. She had to make sure to keep herself safe. Anzu meanwhile circled around and kept her golem on standby. Mostly to shield anyone near it from the shockwave. But, she had some idea how to proceed...
She just had to wait until they could attack again, right? When he raised a foot? Okay. The baphomet descended to the ground. Near his foot. The Mephistomon was waiting for something, seeming prepared to evade at a moment’s notice.

Seeing how such a massive creature could reincorporate after being down with that show of swiftness would definitely be a marvelous sight for Katherine and Jazz. Of course, if it weren’t for the fact it was extremely terrifying due to the threat it represented for all of them. Everyone else had thrown amazing techniques at the symbol that had appeared on his back, and it hadn’t worked at all! The monster was up and looking stronger than ever.
“Damn it! Where did we go wrong?” It was obvious from the start that a creature that could only be damaged by hitting some certain sigils around his body would only answer to a certain attack pattern. Needless to say, there was a long way from knowing that, to actually discovering what was that pattern. Unsureness was in Jazz’s head at the time.
On her end, Katherine was glad to see her friend was doing fine, but equally worried from seeing the dinosaur stand up almost unscathed. This time, however, she had effectively caught a glance of the figure that had appeared upon his back when he fell. After taking some moments to think, a single sound was what she muttered. “ ‘A’…”
Almost immediately, the green-eyed addressed her partner. “Jazz! The sigil you saw on his foot! It was one of the symbols you use in this world to write stuff, right?” For some reason, when she didn’t see the symbols together, it didn’t look like Japanese to her, but actually like some writing in a foreign language.
“Yes. That’s the language we speak. What’s up with that?” Jazz asked, as curious as preoccupied. “What word would you write using that symbol?” The teenager asked. The Chohakkaimon just let a brief space of silence take place, to then finally utter something. “… What… word?” “Come on!” “Uhmm…” A little nervous, the pig-girl finally gave an answer. “ 'Coil'! 'Concern'!”
At that time, inside her head, Katherine went through the many languages she knew, finally reaching something, not even ten seconds after Jazz’s response had been issued. “’C’…!” Again, a mutter. Well, it was time to go from hypothesis to experiment.
“Jazz! Attack that symbol on its foot again. Make sure you all don’t strike it more than three times, counting all the attacks you make before it explodes.”
“Y-Yes! Three times.” The hog nodded. She was ready to jump back into the fight, this time, following the strategy designed by her tamer. The enthusiasm this produced in her was shown by her raising both arms into the air, which was already kind of her signature pose. “HERE I COME!”
If Anzu’s plan had worked and the dinosaur was actually lifting its foot, assuming it was showing the same sigil, Jazz would spin her hammer in the air, releasing a slashing wave of wind, shot straight against the dinosaur. Of course, this was a move made to push enemies away, and she knew she wouldn’t be able to do that with such a massive thing, but that wasn’t what she was going for. She was trying to use the wind to slash it from a safe distance. Would that do much damage? Like any other attack coming from a Champion to a Mega, not really, but if she was right, this was not about the amount damage they inflicted in the sigils, but the number of times they attacked those.
“Everyone! We need to hit him on that mark exactly three times in total!” The shouting was supposed to reach all of the members of the group inside of the pit. “That means there’s one down from me, two more to go!” There was not much left to do now than waiting to see if this worked. If it did, then they would move on to put the second part of this experiment in motion.
Battle Log:
-The Wind Drives Me Mad!: Cho-Hakkaimon swings the Roketto Dīng pá with its acceleration at full-throttle releasing an enormous wave of wind, blowing the opponent into the distance, not doing much damage, but managing to gain some distance from it.

Post by Elsie and Evie on Jan 12, 2019 18:50:01 GMT
Evie's expression remained the same, regardless of Duskmon's comment. Of course it had been luck. She wasn't able to assist in any logical standpoint, from where she was. In fact, Evie was completely useless to the battle itself. "The thing is, they're pretty good at luck," she pointed out, calmly. It hadn't been surprising. But, determination combined with luck could have decent outcomes. Thus, she wouldn't count the team as having lost yet.
Green eyes shifted to glance at Duskmon. An interesting offer. Did he truly mean the suggestion of joining his stronghold? It wasn't as if Evie really fit the description of a brute, after all!
You are better off alone.
Tongue pressed to the roof of her mouth, as a less-than-pleasant memory resurfaced. "Tempting," she chimed, with a tone that was questionable on if it was also genuine, "but, I suspect that our efforts will be worthwhile." After all, if the place they were fighting to create could flourish... Well. Then, Evie would be able to say she was part of what created it. Was it fame or recognition that she was after? Or, simply a higher purpose? To better a place that badly needed it. It was hard to say quite yet.
But, before continuing on with the negotiation, she had to acknowledge whether or not she understood the puzzle, didn't she? While the digimon's alphabet wasn't one she was particularly familiar with, it felt like she somehow knew the symbol on the monster's back. Seeing the symbol on his foot, however? Might be a difficult situation from her standpoint. Yet, she still had her suspicions. "His foot had the third letter of your alphabet, if I were to guess?" Three strikes to down the beast, after all.
If so, she understood. And, if so, she could see why the problem would exist when the majority of the fighters likely didn't know their Digi- A-B-C's!
As far as negotiations went? "If they fail," she corrected, "as long as my sister can aid me in their removal, it's a deal." Would she really have to go through that much effort? Most likely. But, there was no denying that Witchmon herself was not much of a fighter in the case that any removal was in a notably violent manner. "I have no problem with using whatever method is required to rid you of them."
But, surely with Katherine's most recent hypothesis, the fight wasn't over quite yet.
Would Brachiomon lift his foot again though?
If it did, it seemed that Elsie was going to follow suit from the new instructions! Staying at a distance, she followed up the Cho-Hakkaimon's attack with a kick in the air. A slash of energy would quickly launch from the blade on her foot, toward Brachiomon's, air whistling around it. It seemed that, at least for the time being, Elsie wasn't overly interested in getting too close and friendly with a creature that could collapse on her! At least she had learned a lesson from that! "Two. One more to go."
Would this tactic really work?
Only time would tell.
Butterfly Breaking Trumpet-Kick: Slashes a foot through the air, creating an almost ear-piercing sound, as a thin blade of energy slices through the air and toward the target. The noise is slightly disorienting to anyone with average hearing or better. Cooldown of One Post.
