The fight was in full swing at the moment, and while it seemed that while there was still some interaction in between the opposing parties, the hope of a nonviolent solution was as unlikely as it got. Not like Amelie cared about trying diplomacy with a group that seemed to have zero qualms regarding the safety of anyone present, mind you. Trying to reason with what could only be perceived as rabble wasn't something she was interested in doing. Or that was possible at the moment, anyway. Being bereft of most of her senses had its downsides, after all. The upsides, though... Heraldmon wasn't going to let NeoDevimon go anywhere; the whole point of her tactic was to drag the fight into a gruesome melee engagement. Brutal and with the potential to be extremely dangerous? Obviously, but this reckless method had become her preferred way of dealing with nuisances; if both combatants were dragged to the point where avoiding attacks wasn't an option, then whoever could dish the most damage the quickest while also weathering the other's attacks would eventually win. Not exactly a flawless plan, but it was simple, and it played to the aberration's strengths. Not much else to ask for. What about the NeoDevimon? He looked like he was about to unleash a particularly powerful attack that would impact Heraldmon head-on, potentially causing an enormous amount of damage if the digimon was caught in its wake. Perfect. Suddenly, the abomination's coloration changed drastically for a split second; if NeoDevimon could perceive it over that weird mask of his, he'd see himself projected on his enemy for that short lapse of time. What would happen was already determined; at least partly. That apparently harmless attack was quickly followed by one of Heraldmon's own. A powerful arc of red electricity was unleashed from one of the abomination's tendrils at point-blank range. What would the vampire do next? For now, it was obvious that his foe wasn't going to let go. And that, in fact, it relished in this kind of situation.
Turn Recap! —Heraldmon doesn't let go of NeoDevimon. —Uses Reality Hemorrhage before being hit by Pulse Blaster. —Gains an additional attack due to Slip Through Time. —And then uses Volemic Ignition on NeoDevimon at point-blank range. *Reality Hemorrhage: Reality warps and bends around this digimon, changing the perception of its own self and its opponent. The next time this digimon would receive damage, whoever caused that damage is subject to the same amount of damage. Duration: up to 5 posts. The charge burns so hot that unfortunate victims will begin to feel their blood boiling, dealing immense amounts of pain. This ability is subject to the cooldown of the last ability that it mimicked. When this ability changes, it must remain as it is for at least three posts before being able to be changed again.

"It has..." Cion responded to young Mr. Akiyama as she leaned her slender frame against his to provide him with the cover and support he needed. With her ears peeked, she quietly listened to the lengthy, heartfelt the lad had in store for her. Despite his age and inexperience, wisdom had entered his words that he had lacked before. There was patience, a dream... but also pain. Amusing how the two of them thought and felt alike in this vexing moment of strife. Many humans she had encountered had been, to put it kindly, leisured. Toki made a fine exception. And though it appeared that their goals aligned partially, his judgment was unfortunately clouded by simple-heartedness and youthful optimism. Sometimes, force was necessary to make someone who is ignorant comprehend the truth, be it in general or of your cause. From recent memory, she knew this all too well. Someday, the boy might fathom this lesson too; and hopefully with far less agony and anguish involved. For now, they at least agreed to show no quarter to the fiends who had savagely assaulted this most peaceful celebration of coexistence. That was, although perhaps selfish as her friend described iit, acceptable. Shifting her attention back to the Matadrmon, the CyberSagitamon was slightly delighted by the fact that it admitted the unimaginativeness of its impetus. However, its other statements, as hollow as they were, disgruntled her. Naturally, she kept her ladylike grace and poise on the outside as to display her mental superiority. "You're right, I don't think so. What you do was done uncountable times already, and it always led and will lead to failure. You're just perpetuating this cycle of inanity - a slave bound to it, like almost everyone else...""As for peace... I know what it takes to attain it." She uttered calmly yet gravely during her attempt to snare the frenzied martial artist. Regrettably, it turned out the maniac was quite a nimble trickster. As a matter of course, the vulpine sentinel did not reveal the slightest hint of trepidation as the entity emerged from beneath her shadow. Harrumphing, she did not move an inch as prismatic fire manifested itself around her irises. In the same instance, a protective wall of energy burst out of the ground, consuming the knifes while lingering for a couple of incredibly valuable seconds. "The hubris in your tone... huh... you have no idea who or what I am, do you?" She questioned the virus deprecatingly. In contrast, her rigidness and austere facial expression did not yield a bit. To her, it remained this unchanging, old story of foolhardy villains indulging their unteachable frenzy. It was a fatigable, vain tale as ancient as time itself. Aureate, narrowed eyes shifted to her comrade as he interacted with Astamon, more inept drivel echoed throughout the park. Gosh, these sentiments were akin to a cancerous growth that simply refused to die for good. Fortunately, the answers to his rhetoric questions were trivial. "They emerge because of parasites like yourself who can't understand anything beyond themselves and their cravings. The help against the likes of you is not required, but appreciated. However, you are not completely wrong. Digimons indeed thrive in combat - but it is you who are weak, hence we'll cull you."Blinded by its own arrogance, the demon failed to recognize the fortitude of her temporary barrier. The blasts it fired were indeed mighty for a mere Ultimate, but without the property to pierce shields they were rendered inefficacious regardless. "I told you so..." Cion intentionally accentuated her previous statement to grant them awareness of their inherent weakness. Even if they did not comply and surrender, their feeble minds were, from experience, likely to submit to her composed taunt. And it was the maenadic who were most easily controlled and vanquished. Appreciating the literal if wrathful hand Toki was lending her, the silver fennec sighed as she rested her paws on her hip. "Precision strikes. Simple, but clean. Agreeable." She answered approvingly with a continued lack of tension in her voice. There were not many useful abilities at her disposal in her current, inferior form, but with the gentleman by her side they were destined to ruse up triumphantly. Still, she hoped this chore had a swift end. Tch... flighty little devil, aren't you...
Iko's own attack, admittedly, was telegraphed and obvious from a mile away. That straight shot was easily dodged, but it opened up the LadyDevimon to further assault by one of his allies, sending her straight towards the ground, even sending her to skid on the spot. And though she taunted, and gave a snap to do something, the ultimate level gave up one thing with her idle speech.
She gave up the momentum of the fight.
Taking cover behind a postal box, Luke slashed a card, Evasion Protocol, a blue aura appearing briefly around the Shaininmon's frame. Without even two words out of that devil's mouth, Iko pushed hard off the ground and sprinted hard in the fallen demon's direction.
Talk when you have time for it! If he could make the gap, he'd try and kick up, jumping right above the LadyDevimon's position, the entirety of the front side of his armor giving a fierce, golden glow.
Armor Weapon!
The armor would fragment, an impressive, short-range shotgun blast of golden shards thrown with the intent of skewering the LadyDevimon against the ground, and remove her from the fight as quick as possible.
Toki and Cion could have their speeches. Iko prioritized efficiency!
Evasion Protocol Duration: 1/3 Armor Weapon used. Chest armor expended. Armor Weapon An unconventional attack, Iko can fragment pieces of his armor, and fire them out a little faster than the speed of a bullet. This armor cannot be regenerated; hence, anything fired leaves Iko exposed.
Card Name: Evasion Protocol Type: Modify Rank: Starter Duration: 3 Posts The target Digimon gains a boost to speed at the cost of its attack power.

"Well, that's just it, isn't it?" Alan grumbled. He was standing by small group of onlookers he had encouraged to watch from a safe distance, determined to have them see how the conflict would be resolved. "Digimon are truly a species built for combat, right? Fighting, en't it? Maybe the dictionary doesn't agree with me, but combat isn't combat if the opponent isn't fighting back. That's what I say..." Naturally, he would wait until his digimon partner was finished with his "diplomatic" engagements before fully joining in on the philosophical smack-talk.
Meanwhile, the ExVeemon would hold a reserved expression, respectfully holding back the internal smile that was drawn forth when he found the champion-levels to be surprisingly cooperative. "If you ask me, they think digimon always come to attack because the ones who don't are in hiding. DarkTyrannomon- well, if you have another name, I can use that name, but- letting digimon move freely in the human world is our goal, too. And if we save this event, we will have taken a huge step towards achieving that. I don't know how or why DATS was reinstated, but digimon and humans who live with them are in agreement that no matter how powerful digimon can be, the double-standard is unfair. I have a... friend... from the Dark Area, also raised to believe humans were all terrible. That changed when he met his first." Levi squinted a small distance away towards the battle. "Uh... I think the human in question is right over there, in digimon form. But that's besides the point. Would you be willing to help the people who want peace fend off Matadormon and his allies?" Alan watched with anticipation as Levi extended a hand.

As LadyDevimon focused on one attack to dodge, she left herself open from not one, but two attacks. The only slight problem was Viktor was already committed to his attack while the other ally began to create his. He only took note to move if it became necessary! With that first, powerful hit, there would be little doubt the LadyDevimon would be able to stand straight up from the sheer impact alone. But she would not be allowed respite; the fox was on the hunt. With a plant of both legs so powerful it cracked the concrete below him, he began stabbing the naginata in an expeditious manner. The movements so fast it created afterimages of the Monk-Fox. No attack was misplaced, every strike deliberate. He was looking to create several fatal holes in the demon. At the end of this little tirade, his afterimages would show him pivot on his feet and gyrate his hips, giving a small spin as he locked the naginata in his shoulders and gave a precise swipe, it's intent to separate the LadyDevimon's head from her shoulders. Whatever the outcome of the LadyDevimon, Viktor would leap away, letting anymore attacks make contact as his escapade took less than ten seconds to perform. He'd turn his attention to the trapped Astamon and moved to close the gap between them, likely he wasn't focused on another follow up from a third... maybe fourth party. It was an opportunity and Viktor was taking it, he had to if they were to end this quickly. He rushed silently and without a word behind the stuck Astamon, looking to stab him clean through his chest, throwing caution to the wind and forgoing 'honor'! So far, so good. He didn't bother to check on the LadyDevimon, but likely after an attack like that, she was either dead or incapacitated... either way she was no longer his problem. Viktor's first hit connects, for the follow up of "Fury Swipes: Attacks with a single punch, which causes the opponent to stumble, then follows up with flurry of stabs that are done in a blinding motion that ends with a powerful full 360 swing. "Oh why this isn't cowardly, in our opinion. We're here ready to die or captured, you see... Those who isn't ready to caught fire should not play with fire, that's how it works, right?" Matadrmon countered Toki's words "plus what is the need of pride of 'strongest' when all it brings are misery? What's the need of pride when it brings personal satisfaction... satisfaction that you humans robbed away from me!?"
the manic rant suddenly... turned into an angry one at the end. Toki's attack caught it off guard, probably because how unhinged it is at the moment. Yet, Matadrmon's visage suddenly scattered into mist. The attack does damage it, definitely, as there are some sound of it hitting solid object... but the perpetrator for the meantime... vanished. His knives still struck Cion's shadow regardless, , thus snaring her movement for a turn.
Neo Devimon however was the most unfortunate. Its attack rebounded back at it, and top of it it got attacked by Amelie's technique. It's not looking good, judging from the screech it let out. However... it decided a smart move. It turned into goo, one that seeped from the ground, and escaped the manhandle finally! Not done there, spikes came out from the ground, intent to puncture the Digimon it was fighting. The Neo Devimon reappeared somewhere else, nursing its wound. It's most likely the most damaged of the four perfects.
Astamon's bullet are parried, but that means nothing for the mafia-like Digimon. "No," he countered "who? Another person who want to purify the Dark Area perhaps? Someone who have absolute prejudice on virus type? Another guy from Luminas?" he rapidly replied to Cion's retort. "Oh by the way... Mouthing off is nice and all..."
....And pulled another Oro Salmon.
"But you know... have anyone ever said... Don't talk down to the terrorist or you'll see how it goes?"
Ignoring his allies, the Astamon blasted a wide range attack in shape of twin spiralling energy blast. Without doubt it'll cause considerable damage and explosion if it hits. Alan and Levi being the one that has yet to join the fray would be spared by it, but the rest of the combatant will definitely get it. Thanks to Blanc's debuff, it's weaker than he intended it to be, but... that's enough. Blanc quickly moved to form a shield for her partner, her sister, and herself... while Noir, she guessed this one would be the most dangerous one. She quickly took this time to charge an attack.
Iko's armor weapon provided to be more effective for Lady Devimon for its speed. But with its compromised power, it doesn't do much to her except to draw some blood and pushes her down slightly... enough for Viktor's first slash to hit, but not the other ones. Her recovery time become shorter thanks to her own buff. The demon danced along with the steps... and at the moment of the end, she unleashed wave of bats, aimed both at Viktor and Iko.
"What are you doing turning your back away at an enemy that HAVE NOT DIED, FOX!?"
The three Digimons meanwhile looked at the battlefield... They're scared, honestly, scared to take a step forward, scared to even interrupt. These other Digimons are out for blood. They're enjoying the battle, they're out of blood and is trying to kill their opponent. Meanwhile they just pretty much act like malicious, halloween prank, just to scare off people...
"W-we..." they looked at each other... they honestly had no idea. "...We don't know..."
Battle Recap:: Matadrmon's knife still hitting Cion's shadow... as she's blocking the attack from Astamon who strikes from her front. She's snared for the next turn. Matadrmon is hit by Toki's attack... and vanished.
Astamon proceeded to use "Darkness Spiral" to fire at fighters. It's AoE with 50 meter radius, and could cause huge collateral damage if not blocked by shield (3 turns cooldown)
Lady Devimon is hit by Iko's attack, drawing blood, but attack done by Viktor missed her except the initial hit due to her own increased speed. Countered with Darkness Wave (targets 2 people, 4 turns cooldown. Return once more with double damage if dodged) Viktor does not list a passive that allowed him to attack the second time, thus his second attack against Astamon is treated null.
Neo Devimon is critically damaged. It melted to the ground with technique "Silent Escape", then due to auto trigger of ability 'Revenge', spawns spear of darkness that aims to impale Amelie. If hit: great damage and one attack aimed at her will have the damage doubled next turn. 4 turns cooldown.
Sistermon Noir is charging an attack Sistermon Blanc is using Protect Wave Sistermon Blanc jams her Cross Barbee in the ground, then summons forth a divine shield around herself, her sister and her partner. This shield not only heals moderately, but provides absolute protection from up to 1 Ultimate level attack for each of them, and provides immunity from Champion level attacks and lower. The protection lasts until broken or 3 turns pass. [Cooldown: 4 turns]

Post by Toki Akiyama on Jul 18, 2019 8:03:36 GMT
Toki scoffed at the notion that being ready to die or be captured didn't make one a coward. Still, as Matadormon vanished after his assault, he looked back to see Cion snared. He scanned the battlefield to figure out what the best course of action was. Matadormon was still around, but invisible...he had nothing for fighting against that for the moment, so he focused his attention on the rest of the battle. The time for talk was definitely over at this point "Hold on, Cion...I'll figure something out." he said as he spotted Astamon's attack. This could be bad. If something like that hit anyone or even the nearby buildings, that could cause some serious damage.
He knew what he had to do. "Stay safe." he said to Cion as with a mighty leap, Toki rushed headlong towards the attack, fist at the ready. "Stand behind me! Earthen...Bastion!" He shouted as he slammed his fist into the ground. A sturdy wall of stone erupted in front of him to intercept Astamon's Darkness Spiral. The weakened attack would likely dissipate against the wall that was designed to completely nullify an Ultimate level attack at full strength. No more taunting. No more grand speeches to appeal to whatever shred of good will might be within the Ultimate level enemies. They're going down, and Toki was ready for them.
The sheer uncertainty and fear the Champions had saddened him. "Stay down, then. I will not judge you for staying out of this fight. If you truly want to make a difference, then remain after the battle and apologize for your actions." He knew it would take more than apologies, but he felt nothing but sympathy for the Champions. They were fooled into something they wanted nothing to do with and were suffering for it. Threatening them would do no one any good. They could better themselves by having the courage to admit what they did was wrong.
-------
Toki leaps in the path of Astamon's Darkness Spiral and activates Earthen Bastion to block the attack.
Earthen Bastion: Fortifies an area with a wall of stone that erupts from the ground capable of stopping the full force of an Ultimate level attack. Allies near Lagosmon upon activation of this ability will be protected. Mega attacks are weakened by 50% and anything above bypasses it completely. (3 Turn Cooldown)
Stalagmite Fortress 2/2, Sand Shackles 3/3, Earthen Bastion 0/3

With Matadrmon vanishing into thin air after Toki's impressive assault, Cion's ears peaked a little as she calmly yet cautiously scanned her environment. If her high-flying partner Vertigo was with her, he would have probably been able to detect the posh martial artist. For now however, nobody knew if the apparent leader of the terrorists had bailed, turned invisible or had utilized another type of transportation. From experience, it was the better decision to be safe than sorry, even if she had to abdicate a lot of focus on the rest of the battlefield. This handicap was preferable compared to a sudden ambush. Still, there was sufficient attention left to listen to the Astamon's hollow words. It was obvious that her wisdom accumulated over uncountable challenges and eras did not reach the demon man. She had not expected anything to come out of her patience and poise, since that was usually not the case when facing the vain and wicked, but it managed to dismay her ever so slightly regardless. It was a shame how many chose the same, meaningless story, as if people willingly traversed the worlds with blindfolds. History was evidently a volatile and incapable teacher. Only she seemed to comprehend the folly of acting in accordance with the cycle most were unable to grasp. Good and evil... both were the strongest antitheses that prevailed in it. And those who are limited to themselves and their desires are condemned to never attain contentedness. She had learned this valuable lesson not too long ago... from a source utterly unexpected. Yet it was clear that within the deepest, darkest abyss, there was but a single spark of hope that flickered weakly. Everything else was but meaninglessness veiled in higher causes, vices and avarice. So was the frenzied gunslinger merely a minuscule part of this endless darkness. Comprehension was forever unattainable by it. "The Dark Area is just one of innumerable symptoms, dear. Although admittedly I was once blinded by enmity, this no longer holds true. Those who can see this realm for what it is understands that 'purifying' it will yield nothing. Few do - fewer act upon it." Cion replied with utmost composure as she folded her hands behind her hip. "Luminas' zealotry too is a symptom - a rather detestably canting demerit. In actuality, I consider several viruses cherished acquaintances. Why wouldn't it? I used to be one."With her aureate eyes lingering on the Ultimate nightmare soldier, the vulpine sentinel eventually shook her head and tilted it downwards. Why she bothered in the first place was an enigma to her, for those she encountered would nor could heed the understanding she had attained. Instincts and avidity guided their actions, not reason and selflessness. "A slave so weak it can't recognize its own chains..." She spoke under her breath as purportless threats echoed throughout the park. Then it was her duty and that of her allies to rend them temporarily again? So be it... Somewhat surprised that she remained snared despite her barrier, the CyberSagitamon beheld young Mr. Akiyama with trust as he intercepted a relatively mighty ability from the so-called prince. She sensed the potential power inside the boy that he was not allowed to unleash on Earth. Too bad... she would have savored behold it; though a blocked onslaught was enough to appease her curiosity. "I feel positively safe." She quipped kindly in appreciation of the spirit wielder's tremendous support. It was not possible for her to move for the time being anyway, so might as well follow the lad's advice. Humming a soft, radiant melody, the ground beneath her shifted in appearance. Glowing blue, it was as if data and binary code became corporeal and implanted themselves in the flora and soil underneath her feet. Approximately the diameter of a typical house, particles of raw energy slowly soared upwards as they encased her and the comrades who decided to bestead her. Empowered and protected, Cion's gaze dwelt on the Astamon unyieldingly. Unlike in his, there was no hubris in her voice nor stance. The sincerity in everything she expressed was undeniable, as were her confidence and pertinacity. Perhaps the adversary fathomed now who and what she was. If not by name, then by nature. "By choosing to be at strife, you've assured your eventual downfall. Just grasp this... and stop..." It seemed like NeoDevimon didn't quite understand by Heraldmon's reckless charge, but by now, the situation should be obvious; short of returning back to the Digital World, there was no way the vampire could get rid of their opponent. NeoDevimon's disappearance was promptly noted, even if that wasn't everything the abomination's foe would do. It seemed like their departure also had a nasty surprise behind it. Heraldmon had to react quickly unless it wanted its body needlessly pierced by a rather sharp object. It took Amelie's mind a split second to come with the appropriate response. The digimon gained a sudden burst of speed; enough to avoid the oncoming lance hitting it on the core of its body. Sure, one of its limbs had been severely damaged, but the horror could spare those. Its life, though? Not so much, especially since it had taken quite the hit moments ago. Seizing the newfound burst of speed, Heraldmon advanced towards NeoDevimon's new location relentlessly. The strategy? Not a very different one, all things considered: arcs of electricity would begin to form around Heraldmon's form as it tried to wrestle its lankier opponent into submission. It had worked out the first time to the point of a desperation tactic, so there was no compelling argument to change it.

Tch...
By Iko's rough estimate, the LadyDevimon should have been pinned to the ground. Was the use of that card really so devastating against his power? Worse yet, the LadyDevimon seemed hardly worse for wear, able to slip away from them like a slick bar of soap, even going as far as to use a counterattack to try and break through the front, aiming a wide attack towards himself and the fox.
Well. That was fine: this wasn't the only way Evasion Protocol could be used. "Fox, raise your left guard and get ready to dash in!"
That was about as much warning as Iko would be able to give, the Shaininmon himself kicking hard off the ground to ram his right, armored shoulder directly into the Kajunemon's left side. The momentum would carry him sideways, right out of range of the initial cone of bats.
From there, Iko braced his guard: a black shadow would then cover his body, a powerful array of black flames flickering off of his form. Any bats that impacted him would deal damage, but any that tried to bite or latch on would feel themselves sink into the powerful flames of Iko's ultimate, likely rending them entirely.
With Evasion Protocol active, it probably wouldn't do much over the duration - but right now, it was an effective shield!
Evasion Protocol Duration: 2/3 Burning Darkness III Duration: 1/3 Evasion Protocol's effect is used to body-check Viktor. Burning Darkness is utilized as a shield. Burning Darkness III Iko can cover himself or his armor with dark energy, severely burning opponents that touch him directly. Can only be used once a battle, for three posts.

"Well..." the ExVeemon smiled, a bit sadly, "I suppose that's alright," he said, agreeing with what Toki had to say on the matter, watching as he went back into the fight, summoning an earthen wall to protect the allied combatants. "Hey!" cheered Levi, "I know that move!" He had been inside its range when he first reached his current form. But something was off... he was done with his role on the sidelines, yet there he was, still standing off to the side. Perhaps hadn't realized since he was more focused on putting up a calm, confident front for everyone else, but...
He was scared, too. This chaotic battlefield, the attacks flying left and right, and him, knowing that he would be the weakest combatant if he participated. He would claim he was used to the feeling, but all it did was wear him down. At that moment, it came to him: How many champions does it take to match the power of an ultimate?
"Levi..." Alan whispered, through the communicator.
"Oh, hell no!" the dragon man whirled around, a glint in his eyes, be it fire or tears. "Listen... if you don't fight, I won't judge you, he won't judge you," he pointed in Toki's general direction. "None of us will. But what about the other humans!?" This time, he gestured vaguely to the members of the news crew present, particularly the cameraman. "The way you've been treated in the past wasn't fair. It wasn't deserved in the least. But it's not gonna stop if you don't do something about it. Don't forget that for but a brief moment, you were on the side of those psychopaths. It doesn't matter that you didn't know of their bloodlust. It doesn't matter that you stopped almost immediately. What does matter is you've done something to help them and nothing to hinder them. And so far, I haven't done anything to hinder them either. When I look at Matadormon, and I see his actions, his movements, and hear his manic laughter, I become terrified. Petrified, but angry. This is a battle for ultimates, but with our strengths and our wills combined, we can become more than the sum of our parts. And even better, we can have four more digimon showing these humans whose 'side' we're on. So, friends..." Levi punched the air, then paused with his arm directly outstretched in front of him. He smirked, and changed his fist into an open hand. "...how about a little PR stunt?"

Though initially surprised that the LadyDevimon not only survived and dodged his attacks, but also retaliated in a manner to catch him off guard was enough for Viktor to warrant her as a legitimate and official pain his fox-ass. It became clear now that he’d have to focus on her, rather than move target to target. He’d turn to dodge, but with a warning from an ally that instructed him to guard and dash to his left, it was apparent he wouldn’t have to.
As quickly as the warning came, Viktor reacted without question; raising his guard up and dashing-in! The force propelled him away from the attack and he shifted his feet and rolled his shoulders, doing several small spins as he pivoted and landed with a surprising amount of grace. The fox would turn to his ally that helped him and move to see if he was hurt, all while keeping the Demoness in his sight.
”This is no place to die. There’s a thorn to pull from our sides.” he offered a hand as he’d circle around, keeping his pole-bladed weapon ready for anything. He’d speak as he’d slide his hand down the length of the weapon, gaining better leverage to use the polearm at a moment’s notice;
”What’s our play? It is clear engaging her direct is a fool’s game.”
He’d keep his eyes on the LadyDevimon while they formulated something, in the event she thought it an opportune time to strike the newly formed, impromptu team. It was evident that this fight would not be won with a simple hit or attack, but rather an actual plan. If it was true that the LadyDevimon had a deathwish, then Viktor would happily grant it.

The attack collided with the wall, creating such a strong, violent sound of explosion. Astamon clicked his tongue. While the attack has been blocked, the area on its impact was not great the slightest. It totaled some of the road, blackened some trees (thankfully did not burnt it) and made a sizeable hole to appear on the ground. Still, that time was all the black Sistermon needed. On the previous turn, the moment where her sister raised a barrier, she already shot a bullet to the sky. perhaps due to how bright it was, and thanks to the rest of the combatant, no one saw it...
But it was at that turn that suddenly lasers rained from the sky, accurately targeting the opponents on the field. The power is nothing to scoff at. Due to having to stay still for a clear shot, the Astamon was hit. He groaned in pain, enough for Blanc to shot her attack at him that also hit him sending him crashing to the ground. Noir quickly followed it with a shot of her gun, significantly damaging the Digimon. It looks like it's having difficulty to even stand from this one.
"Surrender!" the Sistermon warned, pointing her gun still at the Astamon. She cannot finish it in one turn... But the damage has been done. The Digimon probably won't be able to attack until he could get up.
Sistermon Noir's aimed at Neo Devimon instead passed through it. It shrieked in pain, but not enough to kill it yet... Amelie's attack however came a tad predictable. Wrestling again? Not this time. The Digimon sunk to the ground, narrowly dodging the attack--nay, it would be a quite grisly image, considering Amelie managed to rip off one of its horn in her attempt to grapple it. The Neo Devimon might be hurt, but for it it's a worthwhile exchange compared to its own life... It soon appeared behind Amelie with intent to blast her with a new technique at close range. Stream of dark purple colored laser is now aiming at her.
Lady Devimon was the unlucky one. Her attack did hit Iko, but it wouldn't be as damaging as she wanted it to because the flame that burned the bats before they could do much. Probably prick the skin, but that's that. It's nothing constructive. Lady Devimon clicked her tongue in frustration... and well, considering that the fox isn't attacking, that's good thoug---
And she got pierced by the laser.
Lady Devimon coughed up some blood. It was the very first time she was damaged seriously. Shit... She quickly transformed her oversized arm into a spear. There's no more time. Soon her buff would end... Cripes. That fool Astamon is going to die too! Not that Neo Devimon is any better. If Matadrmon takes more than enough time then she'll too going to be mobbed by the rest of the fighters!
At first, Lady Devimon looked like she's about to charge in and stab Viktor, but should Iko try to protect him or he himself dodged, they would suddenly see Lady Devimon changed the direction of her spear toward the sky. If they don't and the move hit? Well, someone going to get singed by really strong attack then, but at least the thunder won't strike at the two of them instead and just focused on single target.
"HEY, ARE YOU DONE YET!?" she screamed at empty air... yes, that might be the only sign that Matadrmon is still here.
Meanwhile, Levi's word... The three looked at each other, then back at the XVmon. All this talk about righteousness... more and more they're getting fed up of it. Finally, they decided they should just speak up their mind without reservation.
"...And then what would you give to us?" the Woodmon asked. "It's true that we were tricked, we just want you to leave Digital World alone... but it doesn't change the fact that you guys got nothing of benefit for us. If everything can be solved with apology, then we'd bow our head as much as they want... but risking our lives? For your sake who we dislike and want to just leave us alone? That's quite the leap of logic."
"PR stunt you say," the Deltamon began "...PR stunt, to show that Digimons that appeared to create chaos eventually are great guys? 'Oh yeah we got tricked, now let's make it better, how about we defeat the bad guys together!' or something like that? And what would it show? That we're gullible idiots? That we can change side just simply because we got tricked? We wanted this... we might be tricked in the way. We don't want massacre, something that these guys going to do, but even then we pretty much took action because we believe it was right.
Now that we're proven wrong in the eye of the society, is there any future for us? We'll probably get jailed, degraded, or deleted on spot... Isn't it better to just wait in that case? Unlike you, we don't have anyone to vouch for us... a crime is a crime, and like human are going to hear Digimon's side anyway..." bitter laughs escaped its arm heads.
"Yes... just like DATS... XVmon, you're so lucky to have a human partner. He can vouch for you, he can teach you way of the real world... but us?" the Dark Tyranomon rhetorically asked before shaking his head slowly. "...Rights are not something that we have. Not in this land, not where our place of origin was."
"AFTER YOU RUINED ALL THE PARTY FROM BEFORE YOU STILL WANT TO TALK ABOUT RIGHTS!?" Pumpmon indignantly shouted
"OF COURSE WE WANT TO! YOU THINK JUST YOU DIGIMON WHO KNOWS THE WAY TO ENTER REAL WORLD WANT TO BE HEARD!? WE ALSO HAVE OUR OWN MISGIVING THAT WE WANT TO SHOW TO THE WORLD!!" the Dark Tyranomon countered, not losing the slightest to Pumpmon.
"Listen very carefully... just because we're beast looking, huge looking, monstrous... you think that all of us wanted destruction? At times we just accidentally entered portal, not knowing what it is, ended up in real world and suddenly BAM! Chosen kids, left and rights, not even asking what we're doing, think that we're going to create mayhem! Worse, how many Digimons you know knowing how to response when those Locomon-like things roar loudly at us because we suddenly appeared out of nowhere!? How do you think we felt!? And suddenly we have to got attacked just like that!?
AND WHAT DO YOU THINK DATS RESPONSE WAS!? BRAINWASH US OF COURSE! OR PUT TRACKER ON US! OH, AND TURN OUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS INTO MINDLESS SLAVES TO DESTROY US WHO'S LOOKING FOR THEM! HOW CAN WE EVER TRUST PEOPLE LIKE THAT!?" he finally looked sharply at Levi "...Unless you have something that you can promise to us, none of us three will lay our life for you. Especially NOT to DATS or self righteous pricks who only can preach without actually leveling with us. We had enough of intangible 'moral righteousness'. We want to be heard. Well, what would it be, XVmon!?"
"Nicely put!"
A scream was heard as suddenly the reporter accosted by Matadrmon, appearing out of thin air and jumped above a lamppost, knives pointed at the neck of the reporter. "Halt your battles or you'll deeply regret it! Oh but while waiting why don't we start a tale, hmmm? Let's start with a simple one... ekekeke... how about... yes, a happy tale of a Dracmon and his Pico Devimon brother, hmmm? It will be a nice tale for the night... yes, a story about how humans created...your greatest host tonight, me~!"
Combat Log:
Noir's previous action: Agent of Wrath: Sistermon Noir fires her guns into the sky on the first turn, not affecting things initially. On the second turn, powerful pillars of light blast down from the sky, dealing immense damage to all enemies. [Cooldown: 3 turns]
Blanc used: Trinity Lancer - Sistermon Blanc aims her Cross Barbee and fires a blast of divine lightning at a target. This lightning can bypass all defenses and barriers. [Cooldown: 2 turns]
Noir continued with: Mickey Bullet: Raises her guns, then fires them rapidly in a spread fire pattern. Damages all enemies around her. [Cooldown: 1 post].
Astamon took too much number of damage in one turn, is incapacitated (but still can move) Astamon's previous attack was tanked by Toki's attack (Thus no one was hurt). However the point of impact not looking too hot.
Neo Devimon dodged Amelie's attack, but she managed to rips off its horn (ew) Used Zeronos Cannon (Point blank attack move, pushes an opponent away, while at the same time prevent them from using any technique that affected their performance (buffs, healing, etc) or their moves (lessening amount of cooldown, etc) for two turn. Once a thread)
Lady Devimon's previous attack only deals trivial damage against Iko. Lady Devimon took damage from Noir's Agent of Wrath Lady Devimon uses "Unholy Smite" (With her lance, Lady Devimon can decide to strike at max two opponents with black lightning by pointing it at the sky. If it hits one opponent instead, both lightning will descend on the two opponents. Four turns cooldown, pierces shield and reflects)
Matadrmon appeared, and kidnapped the reporter!

Really? Iko, currently being swarmed by the LadyDevimon's bats, more-or-less taking the attack in Kajunemon's stead, only watched the fox return back to his position... to try and strategize? What happened to charging the LadyDevimon with that narrow opening?
Iko wasn't explicit with it, he supposed, so they were just on different wavelengths.
"Direct attack, nothing. So long as those champions on their side don't get involved, its an even game - heads up!"
This attack was the definition of straightforward - straightforward and full of openings! She directed her lance to Kajunemon to begin with, but a weapon like that was only good at striking one of them at a time. So instead of helping the fox to dodge, the wolf kicked off, counter-clockwise to the left, intent on circling right around the LadyDevimon...
... Before he would kick right back in towards her, with his advanced speed. In all likelihood, the demon would be forced to go for the slower target. Past that, he simply wasn't going to try and give her time to try anything else: he'd kick in, and try and wrap his arms around the LadyDevimon in a grapple.
A grapple, that would put her in direct contact with those searing black flames. Of course, this was all in one fluid motion, far before the Matadormon would try and pull off that trick with the reporter. From Luke's cover, he was able to see Iko's fight unfold - as well as the champion level Digimon completely rebuffing Alan's point. On the surface, it was for good reason - there were definitely some in the Digital World who wouldn't want to work with DATS in the slightest.
"For the love of..." Luke sighed, pulling himself out of cover. "Seriously, both of you," Luke leveled his voice towards the Pumpmon and DarkTyrannomon, in particular. "Neither of you are here because you like what DATS did! You're both on the same side in the end, aren't you? I don't know exactly what you're all on about, but if you want me to give you a promise?"
Luke pointed towards the LadyDevimon: "If those assholes get away with what they want, then far worse than DATS is going to happen! If you want to actually take the risk and try and make this situation better, then stay here and do something. If not, then leave! Its dangerous here anyway!"
It would be about that point that the Matadoramon would suddenly sweep the reporter up off her feet, Luke giving a 'tsk' as the ultimate made his threat. Really, why the heck was she still here of all things? As it stood, Iko probably didn't hear much further than the fire crackling around his helmet. No, the wolf couldn't handle this situation that easily.
Amelie, though...
Evasion Protocol Duration: 3/3 Burning Darkness III Duration: 2/3 Fancy stuff with a lance? Iko distances himself from the Kajunemon, and attempts to grapple around the LadyDevimon however possible, to put her in direct contact with the cursed flames.

"I'm so tired..." Toki said as he shook his head "I'm so tired of all this hate. Mistrust. Fear. Judgement. All because of the actions of a few who refuse to listen or give others a chance." He looked at the destruction caused by the blocked attack by Astamon. It looked bad, but if it hit a building or launched into some occupied building in the distance it would have been even worse.
Combat continued all around him, though the others seemed to be getting through their respective situations pretty well...as well as they could be, at any rate. He couldn't figure out where to divide his attention. He listened to Alan's speech to the Champions and frowned at their response "Don't you see that your attitude here is no better than the humans that wronged you? A few have wronged you, so you assume that means all of them are bad. That's exactly how the humans think right now. I'm not trying to excuse what they did. It was wrong of them, yes, but they don't speak for all of us. Please...see that you have allies here." He placed a hand to his scarred chest "You have an ally in me...someone who has always done everything he can to fight on behalf of Digimon everywhere, and I'm human. I'll help you as much as I can, but if you don't do something and own up to what you yourselves admitted was a mistake, then there's nothing I can do. So...are you going to run away? Or are you going to do something about it?"
Then, the scream. His eyes widened, fearful and concerned for who was going to be hurt. He looked up at the lamppost to see Matadormon's dramatic reappearance and subsequent kidnapping of the reporter. He wanted to attack and save them, but he knew that attacking right now would probably just get them hurt or worse. Instead, he knelt down. Maybe this gesture would flatter the ego Matadormon has, but there was another part to it. By kneeling, Toki was also ready to sprint. Matadormon seemed unaware or just didn't care about Sistermon's upcoming attack, but he trusted his allies. He trusted what they could do. He would be ready to sprint towards and catch the reporter should the need arise. He just had to listen and wait for the right moment.
-----
Toki continues to help Alan appeal to the Champion levels. He takes no combat action this turn and instead kneels in front of Matadormon to listen, and also to prep himself to rescue the reporter when needed.
