In retrospect, maybe Doku could have mentioned that trying to bring such a woolly Digimon out through the woods would have been a bad idea, but at least Kenny had the equipment to compensate! Moving along with Doku, the group was able to avoid the more cunning traps of the forest as well. It might have seemed easier than it actually was, but...
... Well, maybe they'd get to that later.
But in this proverbial heavenly garden, hidden away from the rest of the world, the Sovereign's attention was soon drawn to the group. And no sooner did its head turn to them, then did Holly lose her composure, immediately blurting out into a long stream of fast and unrelated questions! The Ebonwumon didn't even pretend to comprehend a single one of them, one of its heads simply tilting in interested confusion, as the other slipped down to look at the floating, light-green orb.
"My... what an interesting thing you have made here, young one." He gave a kind chuckle. "Such an elegant craft..."
Such an innocent, curious spirit didn't displease the Turtle. Next was Toki, and then the human addressing him. The Sovereign's 'kinder' head gave a nod towards the ZenCherubimon. "To be honest, I would be hard pressed not to remember something like that. Quite the wake-up call to suddenly see your own world in flames... only the Phoenix's temper surpasses that in my recent memory."
"Hm..." The other head, meanwhile, locked its head on the human's candor. "And so soon after Doku brought the last visitor? I hardly believe this is such a one-sided occurrence with you lot."
"Still, an offer to help is much better to ask a request of us, wouldn't you say?" The kinder head nodded towards Toki, simply for recognizing that face more than the rest out of the group. "If the 'trade' is for the same thing that the angel wanted, then can we at least trust that it will be you lot to carry out the task? To put it simply, as things stand, this forest is not entirely clear of the influence of that accursed fight."
"And can we really be so open?" The opposite head interjected, as if bickering with the first. "Once we sleep, the 'situation' is out of our hands, again. You saw how well that worked last time."

Holly was bouncing on her feet to say the least; the problems that the others had getting to here one way or another was a small pain compared to the absolute unique chance that they had standing in front of them. Her eyes burned with a passion and she was practically jumping up and down, looking this way and that, leaning this way and that like she wasn’t getting enough information from just the one angle.
Then came the compliment to jade, her own craft and she felt her mouth stop moving. Her face turned beyond red and she’d have to hide her face behind her hands. Jade on the other hand hummed with a soft tune and bobbed up and down.
”Why thank you Sir. She spent quite some time on me. Suffice to say out of all of her questions, the most likely that she’d want an answer for would probably be… Hmm. The flowers and your signal. As both are unlike anything either of us have encountered before.”
Holly flicked her ears a few times ands he’d tilt her head to one side. Her face was still bead red and well.. So the sovereign did need help and that was the reason it was out like this? She’d stare up at the sovereign for a moment and then lean forward.
”To be fair Mr. Sovereign. The world’s been in other hands for a very long time right? And unlike the last group… Well. We know there’s a reason why you’re out like this and hearing that makes it just as painfully obvious that something needs to be done soon if you’re out of your statue form handling it rather than the people living actively in the world.”
Holly folded her arms, her face red still and with the other head questioning the ‘openness’ of the first. She’d flick her ears a few times; consider something and tilt her head to one side. She had more questions but the compliment had her flustered and concentrating at hte matter at hand…
”So what would you have us do? Heal the land? Forest? Or is there a deeper problem in the area we’re not aware of?”
Jade bobbed up and down and considered something for a moment. They were polite and to the point; they knew holly would want this and well… They were all about keeping her happy and working with her.
”Perhaps after this is solved we can return here to converse and present some better thought out questions for yourself? If you’d so be willing…”

Toki understood that those unfamiliar with Spirit Users might be wary of them. He had to deal with that firsthand many times in the past and even now. Kitt's reaction was honestly rather tame compared to some he's had to deal with, so it didn't bother him at all. Kenny and Skadi had the most difficult time getting through the foliage. He wished he could have done more to clear the way, but these vines were important to keeping Ebonwumon's location secure, so he couldn't really do much other than push the vines away slightly.
Everyone had approached Ebonwumon and seemed to be of one mind when communicating with the Sovereign. No demands, no rudeness, just friendly conversation. Ebonwumon may be more powerful than words can describe, but they were still kind and courteous to the group. The other head seemed a little snarkier, but that was fine.
There was a bitter truth to Ebonwumon's concerns. The Digital World has been almost constantly teetered on the brink of complete chaos. The Demon Lords were still out doing whatever it was they did and it seemed like things were likely going to get worse before they start getting better. That much was clear, but Toki still managed to keep his calm expression "I understand your concerns, Ebonwumon. It's frustrating when it feels like things fall apart as soon as you're not involved." He had been through similar situations, himself. Further disillusioning Ebonwumon seemed to be that the previous group, presumably the ones from Luminas, were unable to do what he had requested.
Toki crossed his legs and floated slightly as he listened to Ebonwumon. Holly had asked what exactly needed to be done, and he nodded "Whatever it is we have to do, you have my word that I will do my utmost to see it through. If it's something serious enough to warrant your attention, then our work from that day is not yet finished. If that's the case, then it's time to resolve it completely." If some sort of remnant from that mission still existed, then he had to do what he can to fix it once and for all. Not just for Ebonwumon, but for all of those that were hurt during the battle.
"There are those out there who are working tirelessly to make the Digital World a better place. With how things are, I understand if that isn't entirely the most assuring vote of confidence, but perhaps when we are finished with must be done you can offer some advice on how to move forward. The wisdom of those who came before is invaluable to the future generations."

Kitt's tail puffed up and curve beneath him, a sign of fear and nervousness as he stared at Ebonwumon. The mere idea that a Digimon like him, who was told since he was an In-Training that he wouldn't amount to anything, and would be better off being loaded by another Digimon, to come face-to-face with one of the four Sovereigns was almost like a lucid dream. It just showed how far the Spadamon had come from being the homeless scavenger taken in by a spunky, full-of-life Gigimon and her gentle uncle, to the 'mon he is today.
But still, unlike, the others, who were all relaxed and communicative, Kitt was still practically speechless, almost as if his voice box left the highly vegetative woods. He couldn't think anything the say; everyone was asking the important questions anyway. Anything he would say would probably be brushed off by them since he had no clue about what happened here last time.
Through a squeeze to his left paw would jolt him from his doubts. He glanced to the left to see Skadi smiling. His tail would slowly un-curve from underneath him, going into a curve, perpendicular position. She wasn't wary in the same way as he was, but wanted to make sure he was alright.
Kitt gave a quiet reassuring nod to her, and continued to listen as Toki and Holly gave Ebonwumon the bulk of the details. He wouldn't speak unless been spoken to.

While listening to the concerns and the worries of what Ebonwumon had to say, Skadi's eyes sneaked over to Kitt, just as his tail started to uncurl. At no point did her smile falter at all as she whispered, "See, Kitt? There's nothing to worry about at all. We're going to get through this, and you'll make Ophi and Cassie really proud of you, OK?" She gave his paw another tight, but harmless, squeeze. He was going to make his sisters proud, and she knew it.
He just needed a little more faith in himself.
All the while, butterflies started to form spontaneously in Kenny's stomach as one of the giant turtle's heads turned to address him directly. It just felt so surreal and spectacular; never in his life would he imagine that he would even imagine a physical God talking to him right then and there. Holly looked a little devil-may-care with Ebonwumon, and Toki had managed to stay completely calm as both of them addressed plenty of the God's concerns.
Both of them had directly hit the nail on the head with their remarks, and all Kenny could do was just calmly reaffirm the team's stance. Straightening himself up and looking directly at Ebonwumon, he took a deep breath before he continued, "Rest assured that once we're done with what you need to do, you won't have to worry about a thing anymore. I know you're concerned, but that's understandable. But already plenty of us here have all worked to make the Digital World a better place for everyone. And even when problems arise, there's always been a group out there to help fix them before they go out of hand.
We just need you to trust us on this one. Like Toki said, we'll work hard to ensure that we'll be able to resolve everything that has been bothering you, so you won't have to worry about it anymore. I'm sorry if I came off as too overbearing here, but we want to do everything we can to help you and ease your worries." It felt a little daunting, yes, but he had a lot of faith in everyone here to help save the day and put Ebonwumon's mind at ease.
Perhaps next time he should leave the grandiose speeches to Toki next time. He seemed to be much better at it.

Surely the Ebonwumon wouldn't answer every question in the world - but as Jade trimmed it down to two? The patient head gave a soft smile, nodding towards the construct. "These are the flowers of my past. When I was first drawn to protect the world's east, I showed my domain the value of the land, so they may prosper hand in hand. As for the 'signal'?"
"It is not of a Digimon. Our signal - like all of my brothers - is that of the Digital World itself."
That explanation likely turned over more questions than answers. Doku found himself near the back, giving an idle sigh as the Spadamon remained silent. The group as a whole seemed to be in general agreement, in their own ways. Toki and Kenny, in particular, spoke with confidence of their own experiences - and the Turtle could not sense any doubt in their words. Their motives, at least, were pure - and Holly's, though arguably selfish, remained pragmatic and open in her selfishness.
"... Very well. I already sense that my 'better' half is going to put this task on you anyway." The 'rougher' head was able to speak far more frankly: "I would like to have said that the dragon was the greatest threat to the forest that day - but a grander scheme ran underneath that battle. That sorcerer - if nothing else, he was the world's greatest liar. And nothing is more dangerous than a man of his demeanor to ask 'what if'."
"'What if mine efforts were to fail? What if the Sovereign were to awaken - as did my desert brethren - and stop mine campaign in its wake?' That thought might explain the state of this forest... ah, Doku. You may speak openly to these five."
"As you wish, my lord." His tone remained rough, as the plant type stepped deeper into the garden, his signal vanishing into the wake of the Sovereign's for a moment, as he reached for a bag settled next to a rock. From it, he'd pull out an envelope - and from there, a single piece of parchment.
... The sickly, dark aura of which poisoned the air as soon as it was shown. And on it, was a 'mark', a jagged line interlaced with a somewhat foul-smelling ink. "Um... to put it simply, this is a piece of a trap that the Wisemon laid. Its aura looks threatening, right? Well, its only like this because it senses the Sovereign's signal in the first place."
"It doesn't do much now," the Sovereign explained, "but should my signal lessen, the spell will activate."
"Our guess is that the Wisemon intended to use these to subjugate the weakened forces after the end of the battle - and steal the statue away from under everyone's noses. However, since Ebonwumon was needed to repair the forest from that 'nuclear' damage, that didn't happen immediately. So now we're here - not knowing if there's ten, a hundred, or more of these damn pieces of paper hidden around the forest."
... A daunting task, simply looking at it from the front. Was there any way to parse down the work?

”Interesting. I’ll keep that in my notes then. Thank you Sir.”
Jade gave a small bob of their body, if they could of smiled they would but… given that they were just a floating orb? Motions and tones would have to convey so much more. But hopefully the turtle would be able to pick up on that softness that the AI had.
Now for holly? She was staring up at the sovereign and flicked her ears back as the others spoke. Toki was quick to address concerns and press the assurance of the larger being on what the digital world held. She’d cross her arms and mull this over as the others spoke. Well most of the others. She noted that the little guy wasn’t saying much.
Maybe he was just shy?
Then again.. She’d look up to the sovereign…. Yeah if this was her first time dealing with a signal strength like this or being like this she would have been much more quiet and awed by them. Well much more than she already was! She’d rub at her chin as the sovereign explained what was what.
What if.
The meicrackmon’s tendrils flicked, her tail shifted and her pose went from a slightly relaxed one to that of on edge. It was a milisecond of like that and she found herself gritting her teeth. She had heard a little bit about this mon and had read some of the reports that weren’t like a barcode.
The meicrackmon visibly flinched and hopped back away from Doku, her tail lashing a little bit as that horrid data and ‘mark’ was made known. Why wasn’t she able to sense it before? It ground on her nerves just feeling the data!
”That’s something foul all right… Tch. Well if that’s what they do and you have an example of the problem well I have a solution. If they all feel like this and only spring up like this when a sovereigns ‘signal’ is active we have a pretty easy solution. We synthesize the sovereigns signal or at least use something similar to it to make the marks wake up and go from there. We can destroy them as we find them, rooting everything out. Unless that won’t work but honestly I’m open to suggestions.”
Holly gave a shrug at this; flicking her ears a bit and crossing her arms. She was sitting at champion at the moment but… If she needed to maybe she could use her ultimate and those scout clones?
”What sort of effect do these marks even have? I’ve only heard a little bit about them. But they’re just very vague other than ‘mind control’. Jeez... think that my ma would of had some input here given how much she hated the guy...”

Toki was glad that Holly and Jade were getting at least a few of their questions answered. How gracious of the Sovereign, he thought, admiring them even more. It was surreal to think that they weren't just talking to a Digimon. They were talking to an embodiment of the Digital World itself. It was awe-inspiring and definitely gave them an air of authority. They also deserved the respect they were given for their ever watchful eye and more or less gentle demeanor.
He looked over at Kitt and felt bad that he likely couldn't say anything to ease his nerves around the Sovereign, but Skadi's company and support seemed to calm him down slightly. He smiled warmly at the two, glad they were there to support one another. No one should have to struggle through such things by themselves.
However, Toki's smile and overall calm attitude faltered for a moment when he saw the paper with the symbol on it. The implications of such a thing angered him to his core "I've seen that mark as well. It was branded on Digimon that were controlled by that Wisemon. As much as it pains me to say it, if that mark has the same effect as before and a spell of this magnitude activates, then we'll be looking at many Digimon controlled with who knows what kind of command." He said, his tone serious given the situation.
He listened to Holly's suggestion and nodded. She had personal stakes in this, but she was being rational with what to do next. With that, he had an idea "Ebonwumon, you gifted me with a fraction of your power all that time ago, yes? If I must, I'll give it up to offer a signal to use for this purpose. Another lead could be where the attacks started or where their efforts were focused. During the chaos, some members of Wisemon's army, or those they controlled, planted these spells. Though the opposite could be true...they could have used the war zones to place them far out of the way. However, I'd imagine they'd want to be focused near frequented or populous areas of the forest." He said. He hoped he was on the right track here. He was also serious about using the data he was given as a signal to aid in the tracking effort.

Hearing Skadi’s words of encouragement, assuring him that he was gonna make his siblings proud, Kitt began to purr comfortably, happily nuzzling the crook of the sheep’s neck as his way of expressing his comfort and gratitude to her. Skadi reminded him a lot about Ophelia: her comforting voice, her optimistic smile, and her reassurance that everything was gonna be alright. At this point, all of the doubts and worries he had previously melted away like the wax on a lit candle. If she had faith in him, then it was time for him to have faith in himself.
Besides, it’s not everyday one of the four Sovereigns of the Digital World asks for help.
Ebonwumon explained the reason they were summoned here, that a plan from a battle that was fought here previously was able to show its ugly head. It wasn’t until Doku pulled out an envelope from a nearby bag did Kitt gave his biggest reaction yet.
The Spadamon, like the Holly, went on full alert, retreating a few steps back. On instinct, he summoned his double-bladed engine sword, Blue Queen, and got into a defensive position, his fur puffing up in anger. The energy that was radiating off the mark was so foul that it offended him right to the very core.
The wicked energy was from a Wisemon—their adversary from the looks of it coming from the others. The mark according to Toki allowed the wizard to control Digimon to do their bidding , like puppets. How disgusting, forcing Digimon against their will. He dealt with a Digimon before that did that via latching strings. That alone brought up some bad memories.
He listened to Holly and Toki’s suggestion and nodded his head in agreement with them. Unlike them, he didn’t have any previous involvement with Ebonwumon or the big baddie behind all this, so all of this information was new to him. But he wasn’t gonna let that stop him from chipping in. Cautiously approaching the Sovereign, he politely bowed to the two heads.
“Excuse me, Lord Ebonwumon.” He began. “If I may—since I was completely unaware about the events that transpired here until recently, I must ask why is that Wisemon so bent on trying to get you? It sounds like he really wants to upset the balance of the Digital World by getting rid of you, your grace.”

Skadi never really did get to notice that Toki was looking over at her and Kitt and smiling at the both of them, but for good reason; Kitt's sudden nuzzle against her neck did catch her off guard at first, letting out a surprised yelp in the process. But thankfully and quickly, she was all too happy to return the favour to male Spadamon; a light red blush spread across her face as she gently wrapped her hands around Kitt and proceeded to nuzzle the top of his head back.
Why nobody told her Kitt could really be that affectionate until now would probably remain a great mystery for the ages.
All the while, Kenny could only listen as Ebonwumon's two heads explained further about the incident. Just who was the sorcerer that put everything out so far? And what happened, exactly? All he knew from that day was that all hell broke loose, and only by Ebonwumon's intervention that the forest managed be repaired in record time. He had a lot of questions on the mind, and he knew that he had to ask Toki what happened eventually, just to sate his boiling curiosity very slowly gnawing away at him.
With Doku now taking over the explanation, Kenny turned to look at him, while Skadi, still cuddling Kitt, simultaneously did the same, and both of them would watch as the Alraumon went to grab an envelope and pull out... something particular in nature.
As soon as the mark was revealed, quickly, Skadi broke up from the hug, and, even as Kitt pulled out his trusty sword to put himself on guard, he would find the Valaismon had stood out in front of him, stretching out an arm to specifically defend him. They were a team, and Skadi wasn't willing to let him get hurt any time soon. Kenny, meanwhile, flinched as the horrid stench hit his nose, and he laid his eyes on the mark.
Jesus Christ... Kenny could only think as Doku explained what the mark could do, how it worked, and the circumstances surrounding it. He and Skadi turned their heads over to Toki as he proceeded to explain what he knew about the mark himself. Just those two explanations were more than enough to tell them that the stakes for this mission were much higher than they expected it to be; just having to help a God wasn't enough.
Both Kenny and Skadi would also nod in agreement with Holly and Toki's suggestions and plans to deal with the marks; best to leave it up to the experts. But Skadi didn't stop Kitt from approaching Ebonwumon, but she stayed close to him as he approached, willing to aid him whenever necessary as he asked his question. With Kitt finishing his question, she nodded to Ebonwumon, before giving her own input.
"Was he trying to harvest your amazing power for his own ends in the process, perhaps?" She asked the turtle God, "I mean, me and Kenny weren't exactly aware of the whole situation either, at least not the full details of it all." There were a lot of questions the two had on Wisemon alone. Why would he want to overthrow a God and take the power for himself despite the already present uphill struggle from the sheer power imbalance alone was anyone's guess.

It didn't take long for the group to start examining the situation as a whole. Holly theorized a way to 'trick' the spellbound pages to reveal themselves, Toki offered a way to provide such a signal and offered a theory as to where the pages would have been hidden, and Kitt and Skadi thought about just why the Wisemon would have been seeking the Sovereign's power in the first place.
Wouldn't the motive has been as simple as 'trying to gather power'?
"Hm... I'm doubtful of that, honestly." The Ebonwumon mulled over Skadi's question. "If this was merely a chance to 'increase' or 'obtain' power, I hardly imagine that going after the Sovereign was the best way to do so. If it was just a means of obtaining enough 'power', there's certainly less protected or less risky sources to seek it from."
"Which means, if anything, the motive of this sorcerer was far less than sane. Not that I know much about him - but his motive was probably intent on causing as much damage as possible, without too much care of his own gain. If I consider it that way, this all fits - but that only makes this situation all the more dangerous."
That aside, there was at least a decent means to start looking. Toki's more sacrificial take earned a chuckle from the kinder head. "Flattering, but unnecessary. With my data, you should already be able to 'prepare' that power to flare up the signal. Once your party locates a spell, it is simply a matter of letting that 'tension' go, once the paper has been destroyed."
"If I may?" Doku raised his hand: "If the situation is as the Sovereign says - considering what we do know about that wizard - then maybe our best attempt is to consider this a case of damage mitigation. Rather than search the whole forest, let's just consider the areas that 'intelligent' Digimon would travel - and then areas where it would make sense for the spells to be. So..."
The plant mulled it over. "Hm... Rosewood and the Rosewood Trailmon Station, in general, would have been the closest 'civilian' places. But then we have to consider where the forces were during the fight itself? Near the temporary rescue area and whatever place where allied command was, when responding to the attack..."
Doku scratched his chin - even the Sovereign looked a little lost there. "Rosewood? Is that some sort of new tree?"
"Not quite, my lord..." He shook his head. "Does anywhere else make sense? I'm not sure if we can mitigate all of the damage - but I'm also not sure the marks would maliciously affect anyone who doesn't share the Wisemon's intended language. It might, though - its hard to say if the mark contains the Wisemon's direct order, or the intent of his order. Or, to put it simply, I don't know how it would affect feral Digimon."

”...Well we know without the presence of the sovereigns that the D-reaper starts going nutso. So maybe something like that? Then again why anyone would want that in general is beyond me.”
Holly shook her head and crossed her arms. She looked pensive. Thoughtful. There was a lot here that didn’t add up and she had hundreds if not thousands if not downright millions of questions she wanted to ask the immortal being in front of her. There was a softness to them and a gentleness that didn’t fit with those that she knew of. She had heard of the azulongmon in the desert and experienced the Zhuqiaomon’s flames for herself [albeit weakened to a severe degree].
Holly stayed quiet as Doku started to explain. That they should consider damage mitigation. There was a large area of locations they could go to and places that were high travel points. But if holly was a betting mon… He’d place them in places that people would be curious about.
”Then we talk to our friend and if he knows where the allied command was we can go from there. We already know where the temporary rescue area is right? We have at least one person that was there at the battle so they should know right?”
Holly turned her eyes to toki and tilted her head. They could actually do this quite simply but there was another question that poised itself. If the mission posting was at such a level was it possible that they already knew of some mon that were taken over by this ability?
”...Well so. Hear me out on that part. We don’t know what the intent of the ability is but given that it’s a type of magic we could ask for help from someone that knows this sort of magic and is capable of deciphering it or understanding the data within. Other than being foul and kinda making me want to puke my guts out all over Mr. Ebonwumon’s [or is it Ms. Ebonwumon? Mrs. Ebonwumon?] nice garden even though I’d really rather not.”
The meicrackmon shook her head and wondered what they should really do… There was one last option to find out what the mark did and what they wanted to do with it… Well. Was to have the mark be placed on them and they could quickly take it off!
”The other way of finding out what they want is probably something I don’t think we want to entertain. Even if I'm really curious what the mark feels like when applied... Eesh.”

Everyone's reaction was very appropriate for the seriousness of the situation. As scary as this all was, it was important to realize the importance of what they were doing. That way they would all approach this with the urgency it warrants. Kitt had spoken up and asked the Sovereign if Wisemon wanted to get rid of the Sovereign. That would certainly make sense. Not necessarily power, but to destroy for the sake of destroying. Maybe for some 'greater good' or rebuilding the world in some kind of twisted ideal image. "Hm. There certainly are those out there looking to destroy for their idea of a greater good no matter how twisted it is." He said as he remembered a particular battle on a bridge in the Blossom Isles. There were far too many like Wisemon and Surtr.
Wisemon's goal looked to be pointless destruction, and sending the D-Reaper into a frenzy would certainly make that happen. He remembered that some of the Digimon were tired of how Virus types were treated and to them this was a sort of revolution. Though in the end even those poor Digimon were likely fooled to join in on Wisemon's insane plans. He used their fears and insecurities as weapons...unforgivable. Remembering all that happened made Toki touch his chest where the scar from MetalPhantomon's scythe struck true. He winced slightly as it ached. Going into detail about that day would difficult, but if the others wanted him to explain it in the future, he would.
Toki chuckled a little nervously, slightly embarrassed by his sudden sacrificial idea. At the very least it was still a good way to locate the parchments. He would charge up the energy in his hands and hold it until the spell is disposed of, then let the energy dissipate without exhausting himself. Seemed simple enough on the surface. "Thank you, Ebonwumon. I will do my part." He said as he bowed his head.
The locations that were suggested made complete sense to Toki "I assisted in the rescue, so I remember where rescue area is. Though I think we should focus on Rosewood and the Trailmon Station first. If places of such population and traffic were affected, the damage could be irreversible." He said, worried for the people there.
Toki listened to Holly and thought about what she was saying "Understanding the magic is a double-edged sword. I'd rather not see such a thing replicated in any capacity, but if there's the possibility of creating a counter to it, then maybe that could be useful in the future. If what you're suggesting is possible, Holly, I'll do what I can to help. Otherwise, destroying it is the safest route." He said with a nod. He remembered the Siphon and how that tore his life apart for quite some time, but then remembered how it gave new life when it was reverse engineered, so he was more willing to accept Holly's plan of action here. "In any case, I'm ready to proceed at any time." He said, a determined smile showing his conviction.

Kitt gave a nod to both heads of the Sovereign. They had a point. If their foe was only seeking to obtain power or to upset the balance of the Digital World, then trying to take out one of the four Sovereign was not the best idea. Even if they did manage through some sheer miracle, he doubt that the remaining three that were scattered across the world wouldn't take too kindly about one of the brethren being slain. So what is he really after? Only time will tell.
The locations that Doku suggested made Kitt's ear perk up. Rosewood was the city where he had his blind date with Ophelia, as well as donating a loot of treasure he found alongside Bezil. The thought of innocent Digimon potentially getting caught up in the Wisemon's nefarious scheme was enough to make the Spadamon grit his teeth. If there was one thing that he hated with a burning passion, it was innocents being put at harm's way for no reason."Then we can't allow Wisemon to have his way!" he said boldly. "The city's still under construction. The Digimon there worked so hard to get the city to where it is right now. If everyone gets caught in the crossfire...I don't even want to imagine the sheer devastation that could happen."
Kitt disagreed when Holly suggested they try learn the magic Wisemon set into place. "Y-You say that, but what will happen if ends up backfiring on us, Lady Holly?" He asked carefully, trying not to offend her."Yeah, on paper, it sounds like a good idea, but what if we ended up accidentally amplifying the magic even further, causing it to extend a greater reach than just Rosewood. Apologies, but I rather be caught shaved than to try and use the bad guy's tricks, no matter how helpful it might seem. It's best we destroy it on the spot as Toki-sama suggested." Since this was his first mission, Kitt wanted to be cautious about how to go about this. Their were so many possibilities, yet only a few would end up being the game plan. He wants to make sure that however they go about this, they would come out unscathed.

Well, if anything, at least Skadi's question managed to whittle down the answer to Wisemon's M.O. to possibly as much destruction as possible. But why? What would Wisemon get from wanton destruction, anyways? That just opened up a whole new can of worms. Just why would he try to cause all this possible carnage? To prove a point? To try and rule the land with an iron fist? To instil rebellion?
Those were questions for another day.
Regardless, with Ebonwumon suggesting that Toki use the power he already had to destroy the spell, and the ZenCherubimon happily compiling, Kenny and Skadi just opted to step back and steer clear a bit, just in case something went awry. Still, there was a noticeable sense of awe coming from Kenny, and a twinkle could be spotted in Skadi's eyes as they watched him effortlessly destroy the parchment.
Once that had been cleared up, Kenny relaxed himself while Skadi found herself clapping, "Well, glad to see that we're in very good hands here." Kenny chuckled calmly, "With that sort of power, we might be able to get this done in almost no time!" After his experiences with the Bleached and the Anubismon's timey-wimey shenanigans, Kenny had focused on trying on looking at things more positively. This had to be a good start, at least.
The two would then stay quiet as Doku proceeded to explain where they would be the most likely to find the marks; with Toki and Kitt rightfully suggesting they go to Rosewood and the Trailmon Station first to protect the civilians. Neither could really argue with that, but how to go about it? Kenny raised his own hand, "If possible, I think we should try and evacuate the residents, to reduce the risk of them getting infected by one of the marks, and reduce the overall damage."
Meanwhile, with Holly suggesting they study and reverse engineer the marks, Skadi took a few moments to think this over, especially with Kitt and Toki's words on the matter, before she spoke up, "I'm... not really so sure. If we could reverse engineer the marks, we might be able to use Wisemon's spell against him. But then again, if we screw up, then it might spiral out of control, just like Kitt said..." She tapped a hoove on the ground several times, "We just really need to be careful to avoid it infecting us, either way..."
...welp, that was their own two cents.
