At a first glance, it would seem to be a normal day in a small clearing located within the Server Woods. The sky is sunny, and the weather is warm. However, if one paid close attention they would notice that something felt... wrong about this particular stretch of the woods. The nearby woods are too quiet, devoid of the natural ambiance you would normally hear. There's a heavy, oppressive feeling to the air, as if the very Digital World itself knows that something isn't right here.
All of these signs would indicate that one should avoid this place, but there were a select few who had been called here for a specific purpose: to locate the missing Vegiemon brother of a Togemon that lived in a nearby village. But they will soon find out that there is more to this mystery than meets the eye. What untold horrors will they find themselves tangled up in?
"Hmmmmm. Looks like this one's almost used up. What a shame. Time to go shopping, I guess. Hehehehehe!"

Mandrake and Lothar made their way from the village with the Server Woods after hearing of a Togemon looking for their missing brother and after meeting the said Togemon, they headed into the woods. The hunt should of been fairly straightforward as the Server Woods was not known as an overly dangerous location so they agreed to search for the missing Vegiemon.
Soon they came upon a part of the woods that made both of them feel uneasy. It didn't take telepathy to realize something was amiss as anyone with basic knowledge regarding the works of wildlife in the woods would know if things were dead silent then something was wrong. Lothar had become stiff and alert as he looked around expecting trouble while Mandrake tapped into his telepathic senses to possibly find the Vegiemon or even the source of the danger but sensed nothing. "I don't like this Lothar. I don't sense anything but something is telling me that is likely not the case and it isn't just that things are too quiet." Mandrake quietly said to Lothar causing the Leomon near him to become more wary since the both of them knew that not all digimon could be sensed telepathically for various reasons even though most could. What dangers awaited those in the woods?

Luna stopped moving just as she crossed the threshold into the woods, holding her hands at her side in her Lekismon form she glanced around, the feeling in the air, the unease of the forest. She had been in this forest a few times but never did it feel like this. "You sense that too right Dust?" Luna turned her head back to see the Impmon following behind her. He had his eyes closed at the moment, almost as if he was wondering something.
"Yeah, nothing concrete but. I have a bad feeling about this. Stay on guard Luna." Dust mentioned as he walked ahead of the Lekismon further into the forest, he wasn't going to stop just because of some feeling. They had a task to do after all, a Vegiemon had gone missing and neither Luna or Dust would back down from trying to find them.
"Right, if anything this just proves we need to go forward, they might be in danger or even worse hurt, if they are it's my job to help them." Luna gave a small nod to herself, hyping herself up for a moment before she started walking with Dust further into the forest alongside Dust, holding her hand out and making sure she still had the D-MR on her, if things went bad she'd need to use these. She couldn't grab a lot, just her signature Beelzemon Blast Mode one, Final Destination and Leomon but she felt these ones would be enough... She hoped.

Maybe accepting this job was a mistake.
This is what Adrian and his partner Shoutmon were thinking when they entered the Server Woods. A lot of very heavy situations had been confronting them recently so they decided it would be nice to just take a job up in the Digital World for old times sake. Besides, they were short on Bits so it was the perfect chance to make some money. A Togemon's Vegiemon brother had gone missing, so they just had to go and find them. Simple task, right?
What they didn't consider was how uneasy they would both feel upon entering the forest. The natural ambience was all but gone, replaced by complete and utter silence. No birds chirping, no wind blowing, just... nothing. Even the air itself felt like something was just wrong here. The tall young adult man and the red music dragon looked at each other with nervous expressions as they walked... thank god Luneth back home right now.
"We just... gotta remember why we're doing this," Adrian said out loud, if nothing else but to calm his nerves.
"Y-Yeah... gotta reunite the siblings..." Shoutmon said back, mirroring Adrian's method of becoming calm. Meanwhile his legs were shaking rapidly right now... why was he feeling so afraid right now?

As the three groups traveled through the woods, they would eventually find themselves converging at n isolated, wooden cabin. This is the known home of a reclusive Bacomon that the Togemon believed might know something about her brother's disappearance. The Vegiemon was not the only villager to go missing recently, and the one thing all of the missing digimon had in common was that they all interacted with this Bacomon shortly before they vanished.
There were no lights on in the cabin, and like the rest of this section of the woods, it also radiated an oppressive aura of wrongness. The red-eyed Bacomon could be seen coming out of the cabin and locking the front door before he turned around and noticed the group approaching his home. "Oh, my. Visitors at this hour? How unexpected!"
The Bacomon would quickly turn around and unlock his door before opening it and heading back inside. Turning back to the others, he gestured for them to follow him inside. "Please, come in! May I offer you all anything to drink?"

Soon Mandrake and Lothar spotted the cabin and as they approached Mandrake became more wary his hand tightening around his staff. Lothar noticed this but said nothing as the others approached some familiar faces including Adrian and Shoutmon.
When invited in both Mandrake and Lothar nodded politely but refused refreshment as the Bacomon felt off because for some reason this was the only one Mandrake couldn't detect telepathically. Quietly opening his mind to Lothar, Mandrake telepathically said "Lothar there is something about this stranger that makes me uncomfortable. I cannot sense him."
From the link Lothar replied "Aren't there digimon that just can't be detected in such a manner?"
"Yes but such a thing isn't common so I suggest we keep on guard." Mandrake telepathically answered before cutting off the link between him and his boyfriend before saying to Bacomon "We've heard you are the one to come to regarding a missing Vegiemon."

No lights on in a cabin, also a cabin in the middle of the forest? Yeah this all radiated sinister vibes to the duo, they seemed to not be the only ones coming after the missing digimon though as a Wizardmon and Leomon had walked in front of them into the building, they hadn't noticed Adrian or Shoutmon though, possibly due to oppressive nature of this place. The Bacomon mentioned visitors being strange at this time and quickly welcomed them into his little cabin. The other duo walked in after the digimon opened the door.
Luna looked over at Dust for a moment to gauge his response to this, while the Impmon didn't trust this digimon as far as he could throw him both supposed the benefit of the doubt was to be applied here, after all it could just be coincidence that this digimon involved in this situation, best not to judge him before they got to talk.
So the two of them entered into the Cabin, Dust didn't go far though he simply walked slightly left of the door and leaned on the wall while Luna entered a bit further near the middle of the Cabin. "Thanks but no, I'm afraid like the Wizardmon said we're also here to investigate those missing digimon. The only thing they had in common before missing though is meeting you before they vanished." Dust said rather bluntly getting right to the point of the situation.
"We're not accusing you of anything though, we're just following a common thread. Check out all sources that sorta thing." Luna didn't want to suspect anything, even if there were this many signs of something not being right, innocent until proven guilty after all.

Eventually Adrian and Shoutmon met up with the other two groups who seemed to be on the same mission as they were. Not only that, they were groups that Adrian and Shoutmon recognized. The Wizardmon Mandrake and his Leomon husband Lothar, and the Lekismon Luna alongside her Impmon companion Dust. Adrian waved over to the two groups. "Hey guys. Long time no see, huh?"
"I assume you guys got the same memo about the missing brother as we did?" Shoutmon asked. "And please tell me this place has got you guys afraid for no reason like it has us afraid."
After the meet up was finished with, they would all walk up to the cabin's door and be greeted to the Bacomon that lived there. According to Togemon, this Bacomon should know something about the disappearances that have been happening. Bacomon invited the group inside and offered them a beverage. Much like everyone else, Adrian and Shoutmon walked inside but they both refused the beverage. Something was up here, they could feel it. Since Mandrake and Luna have already shared why they were here, Adrian and Shoutmon didn't feel a need to elaborate much further than that.

Though it wouldn't be visible under the cardboard suit the Bacomon wore, he definitely frowned that everyone was already so suspicious of him and refused his offer of a beverage. Once everyone was inside the cabin, he locked the front door and tucked the key snugly inside his cardboard armor. At least the Bacomon was glad he had locked the door to his basement, as he didn't want the others to see what was hidden down there.
"Well, I guess I can't blame you all for being cautious, what with all the disappearances lately. That's why I always make sure to lock my doors and windows out here." Bacomon calmly said. He just had to get the others to relax their guard a bit before he made his move. "I wasn't aware that a Vegiemon had gone missing. I guess that's one downside to living out here away from the nearest village. I'm sorry, but I'm afraid I can't really help you there."

Mandrake's grip on the staff in his right hand was so tight it threatened to either snap the staff or hurt Mandrake in the process from being so nervous. While Shoutmon spoke to them Lothar gently placed his hand on Mandrake's clenched hand causing the Wizardmon to loosen the grip slightly before he turned to face the others in the room. "Yes Lothar and I are hear looking for the missing Vegiemon but this whole area seems to have all of us upset except..." Mandrake said as he turned to face the Bacomon who had locked the door and explained why before Mandrake continued "You Bacomon, despite signs obvious to even those non telekinetic, you don't appear all that alarmed. That and locking your cabin wouldn't stop a digimon intending harm unless it has defenses we aren't aware of."
Lothar remained silent but observed everyone in the room including Mandrake who had narrowed his sapphire blue eyes at the Bacomon in suspicion. Meanwhile Lothar gently squeezed the hand Mandrake used to hold his staff as his boyfriend was acting more suspicious of strangers than usual. It was likely a combination of the forest around them and not being able to telepathically sense the Bacomon. Sure to Lothar the stranger smelled strange but that could of been for a multitude of reasons. Lothar still wouldn't drop his guard even if Mandrake calmed down as it went against the Leomon's very nature.

Dust and Luna did notice when Adrian called out to them, Luna gave a large wave as she tended to do when she met with friendly faces again, meanwhile Dust simply gave an affirming nod that he was aware of their presence. "Hey, Yup. We heard about the missing digimon and jumped right on the case, hopefully it isn't anything too bad." Luna had her usual cheerful smile on her face, her friendly demeanor and atmosphere being on of the few things that cut through the tense feeling in the air, hopefully it helped calm everyone down, sure did help Dust a bit.
"While I wouldn't say afraid something does seem a bit off." Dust pondered just what the feeling could be, he was never one to feel an ounce of fear regardless of what's going on. "I do hope it is just me being paranoid or cautious." Dust echoed what the Bacomon said.
Luna had walked up to Dust and tapped him on his pendant without him noticing. "Aww, it's just cause you're worried about your girlfriend ain't it Dust?" Luna was trying to lighten the atmosphere a bit, calm the others down by acting cheerful despite the fact she felt the tenseness in the air as well.
Dust was obviously embarrassed as he pushed Luna's hand back. "T-that's neither here nor there." While they were doing that though Mandrake had decided to point out the cabin wouldn't be the smartest defense. "I mean, even if it wouldn't do much a locked door is still an improvement over an unlocked one." having defenses or not locking your doors down wouldn't stop much but it was at least worth a shot.
"We just want a quick look around, make sure everything's on the up and up and we'll be gone before ya know it." Luna said with her usual smile, she didn't want this to escalate or anything.

The way Mandrake was gripping his staff was definitely noticeable. Adrian and Shoutmon could both tell that he really wasn't doing all too well; to ask what was wrong would ultimately be pointless, since they had a feeling Mandrake would just brush it off. Wasn't gonna stop Shoutmon from trying, though. "Are you doing alright, Mandrake? You don't look so hot."
Luna was her usual self at least, giving a big wave to the human and Digimon pair and explaining how they were searching for a missing Digimon as well. Adrian laughed a bit. "You and Kaya are like two peas in a pod, honestly. I'm surprised Hawkeye was the one that partnered with her and not you." Dust too was sharing Shoutmon's feeling of something not being right. At least it confirmed that Shoutmon wasn't going crazy, but it still didn't make him feel any better.
Adrian was the one who noticed how Bacomon locked the door and tucked away the key once everyone was inside. While Adrian was suspicious like everyone else, this one moment raised his suspicion meter to the next level. This was supposed to just be a quick visit, wasn't it? Why was Bacomon locking everyone in like this?
Mandrake was the first to point out the locked door, saying that locking it wouldn't stop a Digimon from breaking in unless there was some other defense put in place ("Wait, they locked the door?" Shoutmon asked.) And the fact that Bacomon wasn't alarmed by this news at all... well, things weren't looking so good in the Bacomon's favor.
"Luna has a point, Bacomon. If you aren't hiding anything then you wouldn't mind if we had a look around, right?"

The Bacomon flinched at Adrian's request to look around. Seeing as he'd been metaphorically backed into a corner, the Bacomon decided that it should just cut its losses and drop the facade.
"Ah, screw it. I guess I got too careless. Such a rookie mistake for me to make. Oh, well." 'Bacomon' said with a dark chuckle. "It's not like any of you will be leaving here alive."
The 'Bacomon' started trembling uncontrollably as a black gaseous substance started oozing out of every crevice of the cardboard suit. The black substance would condense into a black cloud above the carboard disguise, which soon collapsed into a hollow heap. One end of the cloud would form a rough approximation of a wolf's head as numerous red eyes opened along the cloud's surface. The newly-revealed Shademon chuckle darkly at the assembled group.
"What a stroke of luck that you all wandered out here right as my latest victim was nearly used up. I should be able to make one last meal out of all of you before I move on to new hunting grounds. I certainly won't be able to stay here anymore. Hehehehe!" The Shademon maliciously taunted. "I'm going to enjoy this! Endless Nightmare!"
The smoky form of the Shademon would then seem to expand outward, blanketing the entire room in darkness as Shademon moved to hypnotize the investigators into unconsciousness so that he could trap them in their own personalized nightmares. Each of the three pairs would find themselves isolated in the nightmare world, an endless dark plane covered in thick fog. Endless Nightmare: OTP Ability. Shademon casts an illusion of his shadowy form spreading out to engulf the area. This illusion knocks the opponents unconscious and traps them in a shared nightmare in order for Shademon to feed on their inner fears and traumas. The only way to escape the nightmare is to overcome each member's worst traumas or fears before defeating Shademon's avatar in the nightmare world.

When Shoutmon asked Mandrake if he was doing all right, Mandrake knew there was no sense in denying things as he said "Other than not being able to telepathically sense Bacomon. I'm doing fine."
Bacomon seemed to realize that the jig was up between everyone having obvious suspicions and locking the door didn't make the digimon less suspicious. Then the stranger revealed his true colors as shadows spilled out of the Bacomon revealing the stranger's true nature as a Shademon. Not only that it was not likely that Vegiemon was still alive if the Shademon's words were honest.
Not willing to be an easy meal Mandrake and Lothar readied themselves for battle as Shademon began spreading shadows around the room. Mandrake and Lothar felt afraid as the shadows enveloping the room were making them gradually lose conciousness collapsing next to each other despite their attempts to fight it. What would happen to everyone now?

Luna really wanted to give this digimon the benefit of the doubt, she really didn't want to think that this Bacomon was behind this. Sadly her instincts proved right again as the digimon in question gave the the façade and started going at them. " I was really hoping this wouldn't be the case." Luna said with obvious disappointment in her voice as she raised her fists getting ready in her usual stance ready to get at the digimon. Dust pushed himself off the wall he was leaning on and stood straight. " Sorry Luna." Dust figured this digimon wasn't on the up and up, too many things out of place, still though he hoped for Luna's sake that this wasn't the case. " You ain't making a meal out of us, bring it." Dust readied a fireball in his hand as him and Luna readied themselves for a fight. Sadly the fight wouldn't come though as Luna started to feel a bit droopy, finding a hard time keeping her eyes open as she wobbled from side to side. " Nnnh, you. Fight, fair..." She couldn't even get a full sentence out as she simply fell to the ground with her eyes closed. Dust was feeling the same as he struggled to stay awake, he cursed his current form as his eyes started to narrow. " Damnit, if only. I was, Beelzemo-" He couldn't finish his sentence as he fell, lobbing the fireball upward at the Shademon, though it was pretty clear that the fireball wouldn't hit the Shademon dead on. However once the fireball hit the ground near the Shademon it would explode, hopefully doing at least some damage.
Flaming detonator: Flings a large fireball at the opponent that can be remotely detonated. Explodes if it comes in contact with anything as well. 2 post cool down.
