It was just as Adrian was expecting... the Bacomon had discovered how much of a wreck his house was, and was understandably pretty upset about it. "Don't worry about it, I'm gonna call up my Wisemon friend as soon as we defeat this guy, he can rebuild your house in an instant!"
"Or at least, I hope he can..."
The good news? The Mirror Shield card worked, the attack was reflected and was being sent right back at Eyesmon. The bad news? The Mirror Shield card worked, the attack was reflected and was sent back at Eyesmon, who let out a LOUD shriek in pain. OmniShoutmon even had to cover his ears and grit his teeth, it was so loud.
"You piece of..." OmniShoutmon growled as he attempted to prepare another attack... but found that he couldn't. "What the... why can't I use my power?! Adrian, something's wrong!"
"Could that scream from Eyesmon have had something to do with it?" Adrian asked himself as he looked through his cards. He found one that he had bought some time ago - Holy Ring, reminiscent of the one Skye had. "Maybe this will work..." He would then slash the card through his D-Arc. "Digi-Modify! Holy Ring activate!"
Suddenly a golden ring would appear on OmniShoutmon's right arm above his golden gauntlet, and just like that the golden dragon man could feel his power returning. "Heheheh... that almost worked," OmniShoutmon taunted Eyesmon as he started to glow, channeling his energy before releasing a powerful energy aura right at the Eyesmon. "Omni Core Fusion!"
With the effect of "Cursed Howl" removed thanks to the Holy Ring card, OmniShoutmon uses "Omni Core Fusion" on Eyesmon. (Card uses remaining: 4/7)

"First this Eyesmon locks me in the basement and impersonates me, and now my house is destroyed. *Sigh* I should've never moved here from Terminus." Bacomon said as he slumped down in tired resignation.
Meanwhile, Eyesmon's multitude of eyes scanned the area while OmniShoutmon was briefly stunned by his accidental use of Cursed Howl, His eyes darted every which way, examining the environment around him and also eyeing the severed portion of himself that had been sheared off by the reflected laser.
However, the Ultimate Digimon's eyes widened when he saw Adrian use the Holy Ring card to nullify the disruptive power of his Cursed Howl, allowing OmniShoutmon to fire off another attack at Eyesmon, whose fight or flight instinct kicked into overdrive. The beat-up shadow digimon knew that he was screwed if he stayed, so he did the only thing he could think of at this point.
"Nope, I'm not dying here! Dark Haze!" Eyesmon shouted, spewing out a large cloud of dark smoke to obscure everyone's sight while the heavily wounded Eyesmon quickly turned tail and ran away as fast as he could to escape Omnishoutmon's attack, although the attack nipping him in the rear prompted him to run faster.
The severed portion of Eyesmon's mass would also rise up in the form of an Eyesmon Scatter Mode and dart off into the trees to try and escape rather than rejoin his greater portion. By splitting up, it increased the chances of at least one of them escaping from the raging, golden dragon (even living in a greatly diminished state was preferable to dying, thank you very much).
Eyesmon has realized he can't win this fight, and has decided to GTFO.
Passives:
-Malleable Shadows (passive): Eyesmon’s shadowy body can easily be reshaped to help him avoid attacks. 30% evasion boost.
-Deceptive illusion (passive): Eyesmon creates various weapons out of the shadowy data that composes his body. These constructs function as Eyesmon’s basic attacks and are as strong as a 0-CD named ability.
Actives:
-Dark Haze: Eyesmon releases a corrosive, black smog from his mouth, obscuring the sight of everyone within a 25m radius. The smog cloud slowly damages all enemies that enter it, and lasts for three turns unless forcibly dispersed. 3 post CD.

As Eyesmon looked over the area Mandrake and Lothar tensed ready for trouble since Eyesmon was injured and was likely capable of anything. Adrian's Holy Ring card caught the injured shadow digimon's attention and looking uneager to continue the fight in his injured state unleashed his Dark Haze attack upon everyone. The smog entered Mandrake and Lothar's lungs causing them to cough and their eyes to water before they scrambled backward. As they moved back Mandrake felt Lothar take ahold of his arm as if he was making sure the wouldn't lose track of each other.
When they got far enough back they started rubbing their eyes to clear them of the smog only catching a watery, blurry image of a small shadow. What they didn't know was that it was the smaller severed portion of Eyesmon and not the main part of the shadowy digimon. "Is everyone alright?" Mandrake asked his throat sounding a bit horse from the smog as he called to the others. Sure he could sense them but he had no idea if they were injured or not. He knew Lothar was fine since his boyfriend was still clutching his arm.

Dust walked over and patted the Bacomon on the back. "It's a shame, no one could've predicted this happening though. At least we got to you before anything too bad happened." Best to look on the bright side with stuff like this happening, after all that was all they had. Though as Dust was doing this the fight seemed to take a turn with Eyesmon creating a dark cloud enveloping everyone around in the darkness. Though Dust did see the direction he moved in.
Standing up Dust held his hand up creating a fireball as he tried to track where Eyesmon would be in the cloud, eyes closed. But after a moment the Impmon simply let out a small sigh before letting the power in his hand vanish. "Even if I hit him, not like it'd do much." If Shoutmon didn't have a way to get him then it seems like the digimon was going to make a clean getaway.
Meanwhile Luna was indoors, her healing field had already vanished but as she came out it was pretty clear she wasn't going to be able to do much, closing the door to make sure none of the smoke got in, it was probably dangerous if it was an attack!

Adrian felt pretty bad when he saw Bacomon slump down like that. It was all Adrian and Shoutmon's fault that the house was destroyed, as they thought that the Bacomon was just some fake identity of Shademon's. But right now there wasn't any time to go over and help him feel better, at least not until this right was over.
Which would appear to be sooner than intended. When OmniShoutmon fired his attack at Eyesmon, the fiend used a move to blind everyone in the area and causing Adrian and OmniShoutmon to start coughing and gagging. By the time the smog faded... Eyesmon was gone. "Damn it, the spineless coward ran away!"
"Crap..." Adrian muttered as he looked around the immediate area. Yep, it was official, Eyesmon had got the jump on everyone there and fled. He heard Mandrake ask if everyone was alright. "Yeah, OmniShoutmon and I are fine," Adrian announced.
OmniShoutmon de-digivolved back into Shoutmon, a disappointed look present on his face. "I can't believe I let that guy get away... after all the horrible things he's done to Digimon, and done to us..."
"Well, at least he'll know that if he tries something like this again, we're gonna be there to stop him," Adrian said, trying to reassure his red dragon partner.
"Yeah, that's true... and at least he gave us one thing."
"And what's that?"
"...a chance to beat Omni my way." Shoutmon's grin then returned, bigger than ever. The little red dragon would then start to do a little victory dance, hopping up and down on one foot then switching to the other. "We beat Omni~ We beat Omni~ We beat Omni~"
Adrian couldn't help but laugh at the dance and cheer that his partner was doing. Yep, that was Shoutmon alright... even after the dust settles from a horrifying adventure, the red music dragon was able to turn that frown upside down almost immediately. "Well, better get this over with," Adrian said as he messaged Weston on his D-Terminal about the cabin.
A few moments would go by before Weston the Wisemon appeared from a Digiport in front of the group. The tall knowledgeable Digimon glanced over at the wreckage. "Oh my, Adrian sure was not kidding about the destruction," Weston said. He would look down at the Bacomon and smile. "I can repair your cabin back to its original state in an instant, if you would like me to. I believe the human term for this would be 'Pro-Bono,' or without charge."

"*Sigh* I appreciate the offer, but I'm honestly not even sure if I WANT to stay out here or not. That Eyesmon's probably gone and ruined my reputation around here while he was impersonating me." Bacomon glumly said as he took in the wreckage of his home. "Oh, that's right. How are we going to explain this to the rest of the village? Nobody's gonna be happy to hear that Eyesmon managed to get away."
Speaking of Eyesmon, the main mass of the shadowy Digimon had reverted to his Shademon form after managing to escape, so that he could conserve his energy until he found some new hunting grounds.
"Gah, I was so close to reaching Mega! And I would've gotten away with it if it wasn't for those meddling punks!" Shademon angrily muttered, as he kicked at a rock with a tendril and sent it flying against a nearby boulder. However, shademon felt a chill go down his amorphous back as the boulder stood up to reveal itself as a rudely-awakened Okuwamon that turned and angrily glared at Shademon despite having no eyes.
Shademon's eyes could only widen in horror as the enraged Okuwamon came charging towards him. "Oh crap."
Needless to say, the sound of Shademon screaming was loud enough to be heard for miles around.
Mission Objectives complete!
-Vegiemon rescued.
-Shademon/Eyesmon defeated.

Mandrake and Lothar dedigivolved back into their champion forms of Wizardmon and Leomon respectively now that the crisis seemed to be over. Walking up to Bacomon, Mandrake said "I can understand you not wanting to stay here even if the house is restored considering everything you've been through."
Suddenly screams sounded throughout the woods and they sounded familiar. Since the Eyesmon was not out of range he brought two fingers of one of his hands up to a temple, closed his eyes, and began telepathically seeking the evil digimon out. After a few moments he lowered his hand and opened his eyes before he said "It seems like Eyesmon escaping is no longer a problem since judging by his screams he may be no longer alive to harm anyone else." Though Eyesmon had brought forth great suffering Mandrake's voice sounded sad.
"Bacomon, perhaps if you like, we could escort you somewhere. Do you have anywhere you'd want to go?" Lothar asked as he walked up beside Mandrake and placed a comforting hand on the Wizardmon's shoulder but said nothing else as his presence alone seemed reassuring enough.

It seemed Adrian and Shoutmon were celebrating for having destroyed that nightmare, Dust felt like he should be celebrating as well but there was something he couldn't shake. Eyes closed Dust let out a small sigh as he felt someone walk up behind him.
"Dust? What's wrong. We won, shouldn't you be happier?" Luna questioned, despite his face not having moved she seemed to sense something was off with the Impmon, Luna was back in her Lekismon form having brought the Vegiemon outside and sat them down near the door, she healed them as much as she could now they'd just need rest.
"I didn't win against anything, maybe Shademon yeah but that nightmare, that version of myself I didn't win against him I just." Dust felt a small spike of anger surge through before simply letting it fade, having his hand drop to his side. "I just beat it down, repressed it again. Like I always do...." Dust decided to just let everyone else deal with Bacomon for now and look back at Luna.
"Luna... I have a question, why didn't we face a nightmare related to you. Or, was that past self..." Dust couldn't bring himself to ask if she was afraid of him, she seemed to instantly pick up on it shaking her head no.
"Of course not, I wasn't afraid in the slightest! I guess the reason was, I don't really have any fears so long as we're together. Which is how we handled that problem, together and it's how we'll keep handling things." Luna didn't want Dust to think she was scared of him, nor that she thought about his past.
Dust crossed his arms looking away from the Lekismon. "So then it was just me, running from my own shadow." Dust muttered under his breath before nodding. "Maybe it's time I stop running from it then..." With that the Impmon turned towards the forest giving a small wave. "Sorry, I think I need to be alone for a bit. I'll meet you back at the clinic Luna." Before she could object the Impmon left Luna watching him walk away.
After a few moments Luna got a worried look on her face before she started following after. "Sorry, I should go after him. Vegiemon is fine he just needs rest. I'll talk to the client when I get back. Sorry about this." Luna apologized as she rushed off after Dust.

Adrian, Shoutmon, and Weston didn't stay very long after Bacomon rejected the offer to rebuild the cabin, leaving Mandrake and Lothar as the only ones remaining with Bacomon and the unconscious Vegiemon. After hearing Shademon screaming in the distance, Bacomon let out a huff. "Well, good riddance to that monster. I'm glad he won't be hurting anyone else anytime soon."
Lothar's offer of potentially escorting Bacomon somewhere did remind Bacomon of the metaphorical elephant in the room. He went over to the unconscious Vegiemon and attempted to lift the plant Digimon onto his shoulder, but wasn't strong enough to carry him. The cardboard-wearing Digimon would then turn to Lothar and Mandrake and ask, "Ah, I don't suppose that the two of you would be willing to help me bring Vegiemon back to the village before you go, would you? I'm afraid I'm not strong enough to support him on my own."

"Since we all came to look for Vegiemon to begin with we can help you carry him." Mandrake said focusing his telekinesis on the smaller Vegiemon lifting the small digimon gently off the ground before floating the plant digimon over to Lothar who accepted Vegiemon quietly with his arms held out. Once Lothar had a secure but gentle hold on Vegiemon, Mandrake released his telekinetic hold on Vegiemon before looking back at Bacomon and said "Well then let's get Vegiemon home shall we?"
Mandrake and Lothar began leading Bacomon through the Server Woods. Though he and Lothar were tired they would be fine to help Bacomon and Vegiemon until they were safe before they would later go to an inn to rest themselves. It had been a long tough mission that was both physically and mentally exhausting for likely all who were drawn into Shademon's deadly trap. At least the nightmarish mission was over now.
