The World on its Back [Mission]
|
Post by Toki Akiyama on May 13, 2020 4:36:34 GMT
As soon as they reached the village, Toki stood away from the others and channeled the energy in his hands as best he could. He would focus that aura as close to his hands as he possibly could without letting it extend too far outwards. Once it formed completely around his hands, he extended his palms outwards, aiming them around. He pointed them towards everyone gathered, though disguised it as him just searching beyond them so he doesn't raise any suspicions. Deep down he just hoped that this was working and that he would be able to find out what there last move was going to be.
"So far our mission has gone very well. There were some problems, but we managed to resolve them to the best of our abilities. Now we must focus on our sweep of the village for any straggling pages. The sooner we get this done, the better." He said. He was trying to keep the urgency of the situation contained. There was always the possibility that someone had been a mole the entire time, so he was taking care not to draw attention to the fact that he was trying to read everyone during his scan of the area.
"It seems the fight was getting very intense while we were away. I hope everyone is alright, but thankfully our friends are not as hurt as initially thought. From what I saw, the audience was having a great time. Let's get this job done so they can go home safe and sound with some nice memories of the day." He said. He was thrilled that the exhibition match idea was going so well. Sure he was worried about Kitt and Skadi's safety, but it looked like the two of them had a lot more fight in them. They were both very tough and he would have to congratulate them both once this was all over.

A newly-born feeling of grit showed on Skadi's face as she looked upon her foe proudly with a smirk. And, with the great sword in one hand, she simply beckoned Kitt over with the other in response. It was for the audience's sake, after all. And what better way to compliment a brave, courageous, and determined face, than with a dangerous, powerful and borderline cocky heel? All the more reason to help bolster Kitt's confidence in combat just a little bit more.
But that didn't mean she was just gonna hand the win over to him that easily.
Still, even as Kitt stood his ground as the cold winds assaulted him, Skadi would as well, leaving her great sword unsheathed, and, the moment Kitt started to charge into her, the moment she would be holding it up to the front like a makeshift shield, each hand on each side tightly holding onto the blade, hoping to reduce the impact from the incoming attack he had up his sleeve.
And in a way, it worked! While Skadi grunted in pain as Kitt's fist collided with her sword, followed by her chin, her sheer bulk, mixed in with the sheer resilience of the sword, allowed her to at least reduce the impact of the punch, even if by a little. Her entire body was pushed upon the grass, the hooves leaving open dirt patch tracks in their wake.
Then the next thing she knew, she felt a dull pain strike her directly in the chest, forcing her to stumble back just a little further, before a blinding flash of flame slashed her directly on the chest, making her cry out in pain as continued to stumble, before she fell on one knee, wincing in pain from the aftereffects of the powerful flames as she planted her sword into the earth. But even then, the determined look in her eyes refused to die down, nor did her smirk as she looked upon Kitt.
"C'mon, Kitt, is that all you got!?" She playfully goaded at him once more, before firing out an ear-splitting bleat in his direction in retaliation, letting out series of powerful circular shockwaves, all flying towards Kitt, and all aiming to leave quite the hurt on him and to toss him off his feet, possibly leaving him open once more to what his opponent had hidden up her sleeve.
Regardless of the impact, if any, a fresh wave of revitalisation came across Skadi's body as she pulled herself back up once more, that grin still refusing to fade away. So what if Kitt could wield fire, her kryptonite, of all things? It didn't matter, Skadi loved a good challenge. And from the looks of things, if Kitt's initial efforts were anything to go by...
He looked to be a great challenger to her.
Even after the flood of blurry photos to Holly and Toki's devices came to a screeching halt, Kenny's arms and legs still rattled with excitement. And because of that, he gripped onto his D-Nexus ever so tighter, lest it slip out of his hands like wet soap. His eyes constantly darted between the battle and his Digivice; perhaps why they hadn't responded yet was because they were still too busy taking care of the pages.
Understandable, since from the looks of things, Kitt was, more than likely, the least of their worries.
So enamoured he found himself in the battle between the two swords people, his heart started to pound rapidly in surprise and shock as he felt quite a shove coming from, well, the Leomon guard of all people, forcing him to stumble forward a few steps before finding his footing once more. Still, once he did, he chuckled lightly in amusement as he looked up to him as he left, "Thanks, man."
Still, as he continued to watch, a slight feeling of uneasiness still lurked inside of him. How was Toki holding up? How was Holly holding up? As much as he noticed that the two fighting Digimon kept winning over the crowd, especially Kitt and his newfound enthusiasm, he knew that they couldn't hold on forever. Sooner or later, at least one of them had to drop down eventually.
Just where were these two right now, anyways? And how were these two, to boot?
And how the heck was he going to explain the whole fiasco leading up to Kitt evolving to his Perfect form for the first time?
Skadi manages to use her bulk - and her great sword - to reduce the impact of Storm Gear. Until she gets kicked in the chest and struck by the flaming sword, dealing extra damage to her. Despite being sent stumbling back, she fires off a Call of the Mountains towards Kitt to deal damage and give herself a 20% attack boost for the next 2 posts.
Call of the Mountains: Skadi lets out a powerful, loud bleat at the opponent, dealing damage and potential disorientation. A much more powerful version of Wild Bleat, again, it can disorient flying Digimon and send them onto the ground, but it also has an added bonus of invigorating Skadi and increasing Skadi’s attack by 20% for the next 2 posts. (2 post cooldown)
Passives: Mountaineer (Passive): Markhormon possesses a tough and well-rugged body that has survived even the harshest of winters. This in turn reduces damage from all Ice attacks by 50% and physical attacks by 30%. However, she takes 50% more damage from fire attacks.
Toxic Immunity (Passive): Markhormon’s immune system naturally prevents Skadi from suffering poison/corrosion from any attacks/passives, or suffering any ill effects from them (damage, paralysis etc). Likewise, her foamy saliva, if swallowed, or in some cases, rubbed into an affected area of a poison victim, will automatically heal the Digimon of any poison/corrosion effects they may suffer… if they’re willing to use it at all, obviously. If used on an ally, then they have up to 2 poison/corrosion effects lifted from them, and Skadi goes through a 3 turn cooldown period, where she will be no longer immune to effects from poison/corrosion until it finishes. If Skadi digivolves to this form while poisoned/corroding, then she will automatically be cured in the same post.

”If they did and they’re a regular they would act out of tune for what they are normally here for. We know that whoever was there used a wheelbarrow. Our job then should be finding who the person is that had it, whether they borrowed it or own it. We can mask asking around for it saying we found that wheelbarrow out there."
Holly flicked her ears and gritted her teeth as they arrived back at rosewood. The angemon was there and well… Holly slid to a halt and shook her head; one was quick behind her and well. Without doku on her back she’d stretch and… well. The clone would shrug at holly before poofing. There was no reason for her to draw more attention to them. Multiple meicrackmon’s might draw some attention after all!
”Which either means they’re doing something during the distraction or they themselves are part of the crowd trying to act normal.”
Holly stepped forward, a hand coming down to grip at doku’s shoulder. He was out of everyone here, the person that shouldn’t be anywhere near this threat and well. Holly had to admit that it would be a very bad thing for him to come under the effects of any of the pages.
”Lets take things slow. Be careful and we need to make sure that you don’t come under threat. You know the defenses too well to be doing something like this. Can you go back to them without being seen or in some way go back without someone being able to intercept you? I get that the… ‘issue’ is worrying but. We need to think long game too.”
Honestly it took a little bit for holly to have this click; but the longer that doku was out and about well… the more of a threat the sovereign could be under. With the group split as it was she wasn’t going to suggest they split normally but if the other could get back to the sovereign with utmost safety they wouldn’t need to.

Even though his first strike didn't go exactly as plan, with Skadi using the blunt side of her great sword to block, Kitt's eyes gleamed with excitement. Impressive reaction time, but he wasn't done yet! With a swift roundhouse kick to her chest, he revved up Blue Queen, slashing her diagonally, ending his three-hit combo. A low rumble would escape Kitt's throat, excitement rising as she picked herself back, her smirk causing him to let out a competitive grin as well. Although he could have continued his assault while she was down, he chose not to, mainly because it was unfair to attack an opponent when they were on the ground and couldn't retaliate. It was a code of honor that Logane taught him during his first weeks under his tutelage; he wouldn't dare try to break it, even if he was turning in to Ophelia 2.0. "Madam Skadi, if that basic attack wasn't enough to leave a dent on your chizzled abs that looks like you can grind meat on 'em , then you haven't since nothing yet!" He returned the gloat, winking at her. She let out another powerful bleat from her mouth, blowing up his eardrums yet again and sending him flying. Maybe it wasn't the best time to flirt with his opponent. Heck, he didn't even know where that came from. One thing's for sure, she had the vocal chords of a goddess to be able to do that again. Now it was time to shut it up. As his mechanical feet pushed upon the grass, he had to think of something fast, or he'll be blown away. He slammed his sword into the ground, trying his best to withstand it. He took some damage, yes, but better than being tossed like some trash in the wind. The attack subsided, Kitt found himself slightly groggy. It was this disorientation that made the GrapLeomon grab his weapon the wrong way, accidentally taking a chunk of the broadsword...or so he though. To his surprise, it turns out that the Blue Queen had the ability to separate into two different swords: one retaining the broadsword appearance, albeit slightly lighter than before, the other a lean blade with a half a guard on the left side. "Ohhhh, I like this..." he commented, analyzing his two swords. He put the weapons together, reassembling them into its previous appearance, then dissembling into the two swords again. Prehaps this was a result of Blue Queen getting split in two when Skadi critically injured him? No matter the case, he got two swords, which means double the might! The turbines across his body begun to spun rapidly, emitting a spectral, orange glow across his body. "Alright, now this is getting good!"He dashed towards Skadi, attacking with a flurry of strikes. No flames for his Exceed involve, just a test to see how his new fighting style would hold up against the Markhornmon. Combat Log:Taking a cue from Skadi, Kitt slams his Blue Queen into the ground, using it as an anchor so he wouldn't get blown away Call of the Mountains, though taking the full brunt of the damage as a result, becoming slightly groggy for a bit.
Kitt discovers that his Blue Queen can separate into two swords: SwitchBalde Form!
Combat Passive: SwitchBlade Form - Kitt’s Blue Queen breaks off into two seperate swords:the main blade and the back blade, allowing him to dual wield. He can assemble and disassemble the weapon anytime to fit his needs.
Kitt uses Seismic Drive, boosting his attack power and speed by 50%, but decreasing his defenses by 25%.Seismic Drive - The turbines across Kitt’s arms and legs begin to spin faster than normal, emanating an orange glow. The glow spreads across his body as it empowers him, boosting attack and speed power by 50% for 3 turns, while decreasing his defenses by 25% for the duration as well. [Three turn duration; Four post cooldown]Kitt charges towards Skadi, unleashing a flurry of slashes with his two swords.Passive:Advanced Feline Senses - Kitt retains his superior senses of vision and hearing from his previous two forms, making him able to function in combat if either senses were compromised. [/spoiler}
Cooldowns: Storm Gear: 1/1; can now be used again.
Exceed: One fuel phial remains.

They definitely had a few solid options to go on.
Hopping off of the clone's back, Doku gave a blink as the MeiCrackmon expressed her concern about Doku being so close to the threat. The plant Digimon considered it for a moment, before giving a small shrug. "At this point, I'm safer with the group than away from it."
That small disagreement aside, what really helped here was Toki's skepticism. Rather than simply jump into the fray himself, he decided to scan the immediate group here - the outside of the crowd, as well as the immediate group around him. Doku, of course, was clean - he would have been detected a hundred times over at this point if he was marked - but Toki would be able to sense two signals immediately.
The key word here being 'able'. There was one signal on the flight of the Angemon's back - but there was a second one as well. One that, upon feeling the Sovereign's energy leak out into the city, spiked like an obvious, sheer pillar of darkness, as a roaring, guttural howl erupted from the orchard to the right, the harsh sound of rattling chains snapping - as what looked to be a rabid beast broke out into the open.
A Saberleomon - a torn shackle around its back-left leg - tore its way right out into the open clearing, eyes locked on the owner of that Sovereign signal, as it tore after him!
"The hell!" The Angemon grit his teeth, readying his staff as his data signal began to spike. It made sense - if this was a mega, he'd have to push up to mega himself, against this threat. To all but one person in the group, perhaps this would appear normal.
... And the one person who could say otherwise, just happened to be the target of this attack!
Of course, that wasn't the only issue. Such a sudden appearance spooked the crowd, several pushing over each-other to try and distance themselves from the sudden monster. Left as they were, such a packed group might just run over itself!
Saberleomon readies 'Howling Crusher', eyes intent directly on the ZenCherubimon.

"Ah...so that's how it is..." Toki said with an eerie level of calm in his voice, though do not make the mistake of thinking that means he isn't angry. He is absolutely livid. He opened his eyes in a furious scowl, though the usual attack accompanied by it wasn't present. "Are you awake, my friend...?" He asked, seemingly to no one in particular.
Toki looked over to see Saberleomon suddenly dash towards him. He heard a voice "Is it time for a warm up? Good. Let's rock!" A voice spoke. Toki's form glowed a bright light as the sound of whirring drills echoed in the air. The form swiftly materialized and it was unlike any of Toki's other forms. This one was clearly built with pure strength and power in mind. The crimson drills and blades across his body shined brightly as the orange mane flowed as the digivolution completed. In a loud, boisterous tone, he shouted "Spiral Form! Quill Barrier Overclock!" Before he curled his arms and body towards Saberleomon, drills extending outwards and skewering the rampaging Digimon if it didn't stop its assault. The force of the enemy bearing down on him would still make him buckle slightly, but he just grinned as his barrier remained up.
If he had the chance, he would strain himself and swing the Saberleomon wildly towards Angemon in an attempt to fling the large creature against him and away from where the crowd would be "Angemon's marked!" He shouted as he resumed a ready stance "No wonder Ebonwumon didn't want you near him. He could probably feel your presence across the Digital World! Your little game's up. You want your plan to go on? Then you'll have to get rid of me first." He said as he pounded his fists together. "However by that point you'll have been torn to pieces."
-----
Toki digivolved to Stiffilmon and countered Saberleomon with Spiral Form - Quill Barrier Overclocked.
Overclock [Combat Passive]: Stiffilmon’s abilities have an additional affect that can be activated at the cost of increasing the ability’s cooldown by one turn.
Spiral Form – Quill Barrier: Stiffilmon guards, extending quills out towards an attacking opponent. While in this state, damage taken is reduced. Melee attacks that make contact have their damage partially reflected to the opponent. Overclock Effect: Barrier effect remains for the next turn. [3 Turn Cooldown/4 with Overclock]
Cooldowns: Spiral Form - Quill Barrier 0/4

Holly nodded her head at the suggestion that doku had in staying with them. He had a point; but honestly if things got sour what were they going to do? She’d fold her arms and consider a few things. First of all searching house by house would take too long and well… Holly felt her data run cold as she felt that guttural howl reverberate through her body and she’d growl a little as the saberleomon made it’s debue. Who would this be? The person they had looked into? Or perhaps an unlucky wielder of the darkness that the wisemon had? They didn’t know. A torn shackle was around it’s back leg and well… Did that mean that they had been keeping this guy off to the side? Holly took a step back and placed her hands together; she had jade. She had the ability to heal. She needed to do this. She’d mumble to herself and let herself be taken by the light of digivolution. The form of Ancient_Raguelmon rearing it’s head. It’s armor and clothed form hid much of what made a meicrackmon a meicrackmon. Though her large tail and tendrils were still present. She didn’t hesitate to scoop up doku in her hands and if the mon didn’t argue he’d stay with her. ”Tutt tutt… It’s good you didn’t go off on your own. Can you digivolve higher- Eh?”Hearing that the angemon was marked from toki didn’t make this any better and the mega would take a few steps back. This form was absolutely not for fighting but she didn’t have much of a choice here. She would make sure that she and toki fought long into the night. ”Jade. Healing formation.””Affirmative.”The raguelmon kicked off of the ground and circled to keep near toki. Her aura and passive regeneration passed to him. He would easily feel her power wash over him and she’d shake her head. It made sense to her but it also made her somewhat angry. ”I will say this once. Stand down angemon.” Log-Holly digivolves to ancient raguelmon -Holly scoops up doku and moves to be closer to toki Passives|RAM UPGRADE GIGA| Jade orbs: A set of seven somewhat small orbs that change in size based on the host digimon's own size. They're made primarily out of jade but have several veins of other materials. It's far harder than any normal jade could hope to be and is about as durable if not more than it's host. Inside of the orbs lays a collective AI that is capable of learning and reasoning much like it's owner does. It is named after it's own coloration and it's voice is decidedly feminine. Outside of battle it simply gathers and catalogs information for it's owner's benefit while inside of battle it's devious ability is brought to light.
The jade orbs possess different formations. Three to be specific. Defensive, offensive and supportive. Each formation gives a small boost to the respective grouping. But only ever at 10%. Only one formation can be active at a time and there is a three post cool-down to switching between formations. Defensive provides a damage reduction, offensive increases damage output and supportive increases healing done.
Aetherflow|passive: This digimon radiates an aura of healing energy to a single ally within a radius of thirty feet of itself. This particular ally is healed by 5% per posting round. On rounds that a healing move is used on a target rather than that posting round healing them it instead boosts the healing move by the same percentage. [Applied to toki]
StoneSkin|Passive: This digimon's nature gives it a soft damage reduction of 30%. If allies are within one hundred feet of itself are present it's damage reduction is removed and provided to them. [30% for 1, 15% for 2, 10% for 3] [up to three targets]. [Applied to toki, Pending to Doku if he accepts]
Secret of Aether: For each healing or protective based move this digimon builds up a stack of Aether, though its limited to one stack gained per post. Upon three aether stacks this digimon may release a powerful single target heal on a target within one hundred feet of itself. If a target is at full health their next move's effectiveness is increased by a large amount. This move is equivalent to one with a cool down of five posts as it requires a build up to even function.
Mark of the Knight|Passive: Each individual within the order have their own marking it may be located anywhere they please as long as it's easy to see/find. It signifies their power and their ability to act on their own or in a group. This symbol provides them with a Light regen[5%] per combat posting round. Move: N/A Secret if Aether charges: [0/3]

Post by Kenny O'Hara and Skadi on May 14, 2020 10:33:06 GMT
Despite all the pain, and even through the heavy painting, the smirk on Skadi's face refused to fade as she looked Kitt dead in the eyes, at least, she did, until Kitt responded to her gloat with something... quite saucy. Her eyes widened in surprise, and her mouth laid agape once more. No, she wasn't offended, or angry, or even close to livid. She was just a little dumbfounded.
No. No. She shook her head just to snap out of it. The compliments (and subsequent snuggles) had to come later. She wasn't going to get so distracted so easily. Besides, Kitt's idea to anchor himself with his blade to avoid being blown away so easily wasn't actually a bad idea, honestly, and the smirk resumed in bemusement, wondering what Kitt would pull off next.
Turned out, he could now dual wield! The Markhormon could only grin as she readied her own great sword once more, still anticipating the next move. And as he rushed towards her, glowing a bright orange with his turbines roaring loudly, she raised her blade once more, ready to parry his attacks.
And as it turned out, it would be harder than she thought.
The wide, varied barrage of strikes coming in at blinding speeds were nigh unpredictable; while she tried to keep up with the wild slashes, she could only find herself parrying only 1/3rd of all the slashes. The blinding fast speeds, mixed in with the unpredictability of where the next strike would hit and the added strength, ensured that, by the time the attack ended, she'd be heaving heavily in pain.
At least some of her natural bulk softened the blow.
But the smirk on her face didn't show any sign of fading, in fact, one could sense a sense of pride coming from her, "Not bad. But let's see how you can handle this, then?" She boasted with a slight chuckle, looking Kitt directly in the eye.
And with that, she raised her sword into the air, gripping the handle with both hands as frost started to coat the blade, eventually forming into rock-solid ice...
Only to be frozen in place as a pained roar pierced the air, and her eyes fell upon the pillar of darkness looming above Rosewood. Slowly, she lowered her sword to her sides as it reverted to normal, finding herself staring in shock at just what the hell was going on. "Kitt, I'd hate to cut off this fight so early, but I need you to look behind you." She slowly pointed a finger to the pillar, just moments before it died down.
And needless to say, it wasn't lost on Kenny either; he cringed in shock as the same roar rang through his ears, and he gazed upon the dark spire itself. His gut feeling was enough to tell him that something was terribly wrong. But they had to do something. Already both their eyes directed towards the crowd, understandably trying to escape before whatever, or rather, whoever arrived, while Kenny quickly dashed into the arena, painting in a mixture of exhaustion and panic.
Skadi shot a more firm glance at both Kitt and Kenny, "Guys, this probably goes without saying, but we need to help evacuate everyone here to Ys for the time being, before we go stop whoever's attacking Rosewood. You guys know how to activate the home portal on the D-Nexus, right?" Kenny just gave a firm nod.
"Good. Kenny, you call Periperi and tell her to lead the evacuees when they get to Ys. Kitt, you help me in evacuating the survivors. Try and ensure that everybody evacuates from the arena into the home portals calmly and safely, and try to round up as much people as you can. Is that clear, you's two?"
"Yep! Understood!" Kenny responded, pulling out his D-Nexus once more to write out a Tamernet message to Periperi, his hands shaking with nervousness. With that handled, Skadi would start to call out to everyone else within the arena, sheathing her sword and cupping her hands, yelling as loud as possible in a hopeful bid to grab their attention.
"Attention everyone! Please don't be alarmed or try to escape the arena! We need you all to form two lines in the battlegrounds itself in a calm and orderly manner! We will be setting up two home portals that will take you to Ys in the Northern Prominence! Once in Ys, we request you follow all instructions from the leader at all times, for your own safety! This is for your own good!"
With just the push of a button on her D-Nexus, a giant blue portal would emerge, next to her, standing up on the floor for all to see. With any luck, had the crowd been taken under control, Skadi would line her side up in an orderly fashion, bringing each into the portal one by one. And hopefully, Kitt would be doing the same.
And hopefully, he'd be doing KIZNA proud.
It was a quite day at Ys, as per usual for Periperi. Today, she was just doing some reading at the Aeterna bar, simply having some nice hot chocolate with marshmallows. It did help to pass the time after all. That is, until her D-Nexus let out a simple buzz on the table.
The Ludomon perked in surprise, and as she stuffed the book back into the bag, she flipped open up to Tamernet, and her eyes quickly scanned the message she was sent, before her eyes widened in surprise.
DrMothman: periperi were sending evacuees from rosewood meet them at ys trailmon station and lead them from there
Well, this got interesting quickly. Snapping the D-Nexus shut, she pulled herself off the table and ran out of the bar and towards the station, leaving a small tip for Jill. The fact she spent a good amount of time living here for a good while gave her a good knowledge of the layout of the massive city, although she still had to push her way just to get to the station in record time, much to the exclamations of surprise to the rest of the residents.
A few minutes later, once she reached the station, she would spot a giant blue portal circling around near one of the Trailmon. Those were where the evacuees were due to come, right? She had to represent herself and her team well. She stood proud and tall, with a wide toothy grin on her face, ready to greet the first batch of evacuees to come her way.
Finally, her first big gig as part of KIZNA. Mae would be so proud.

Post by Kitt on May 15, 2020 23:11:36 GMT
With each swing and jab, Kitt was beginning to get more accustomed to his Ultimate form. Before it was like his body was moving on its own, probably due to his excitement taking control, but now he was starting to get a grasp of what he was truly capable of. He could feel the beat of his core in his ears. His whole body began to pulse; waves of vigor from his Seismic Drive washing over him with each beat, allowing him to hit harder and faster.
Once his barrage concluded, he twirled the smaller and leaner blade around his wrist before holding both weapons in a backhand grip, bearing his fangs in a smile to Skadi. "By all means, Madam, give me all you got!" he exclaimed.
As Skadi raised her great sword into the air, with ice coating the blade, Kitt revved up the handles of his dual swords, a roar of flames erupting until it reached the tip. Fire vs ice-- hot vs cold. These opposing elements would see which is stronger, and the GrapLeomon already knew which would win!
Before the two of them could trade blows however, Kitt tilted his bow up, confused to what she just said. Was this a trap to catch him off-guard? No, no she wasn't the type of person to do something like that. He turned his head slowly, until he saw a pillar of darkness shooting towards the sky, accompanied with a fierce roar.
"The heck...?" was all he really could say. He felt a chill running down his spine. This can't be good. Did something happened with Toki, Doku, and Holly with their investigation? He didn't have time to ponder as the crowd began to panic, shoving and pushing each other trying to escape from whatever beast that just showed up. That also was not good.
Skadi suggested that they try to evacuate everyone by using their D-Nexus to open a portal, sending them all to Y's. "We can do that?" Kitt questioned, taking out his black and teal D-Nexus to look at it. "I'm still not used to using this thing, but I'll see if I can find it."
As the Markhornmon began to calm everyone down, Kitt started to surf through his D-Nexus, trying to find the portal setting. When it came to technology, he was for the most part clueless, like a bumpkin child. "Come on, come on, come on..." He began to sweat looking for the program. If they make it to the end of the day, he was gonna have Eris teach him the 101 when it came to electronic devices.
After a somewhat infuriating couple of moments, he finally found the portal option. "Aha! Found it!" Kitt exclaimed as he raised his digivice. The link was established, and like Kenny, a blue portal would emerge to where he pointed at. One problem down, now for the crowd.
"E-Everyone, please get into single-file lines! No pushing or trying to cut in front of others. As what Madam Skadi just said, you all will be safe there until this problem is deal with. I promise you, if anything tries to come at you all, I'll make sure they don't lay a finger on you."

Unsurprisingly, it didn't take long for the general situation to devolve into chaos. Maybe it took a few moments to realize the comparative 'explosions' that had just occurred weren't part of the fight in front of their eyes, but the moment that distinction was made?
Yeah, this crowd of rookies and champions wasn't thinking much about the mushrooms at all. A few managed to slip to higher tree branches to avoid the rush - and a few definitely did go for the portals, organized or not - but it wasn't as if everyone was on-board!
"Yeah, right! You come around, and THEN something like this happens?"
"Patamon, where are you?!"
"I gotta get back... tch, if she's still sleeping..."
Right - it wasn't as if everyone was at the fight to begin with, and it was hard to get everyone on the same page. In those several seconds of chaos, Kenny would feel a hand right on his shoulder. The Leomon had returned, a general growl given at this whole situation. "Tch... were you all hiding something like this? Never mind - like it or not, we have to wrangle in this crowd somehow." He glanced back, to see a Monzaemon going back into the city, back to his apparent abode. "Its not just their own safety these 'mons are worried about, after all - its their homes. Some might not bear what they stand to lose, others have to protect their loved ones. But something of this scale might end up wiping out a whole block with one good strike."
A hell of a time for conflicting efforts, to be sure - but for some, it was worth holding that 'something else' over their own safety. "We need to direct the immediate crowd through first, so we can sort out the 'smaller' matters later. How well can you keep these open?" So, if the Leomon was there - then where did this second mega come from?
Well, it was unlikely that anyone actively in the fight had made that connection yet. As Holly tried to scoop up the plant Digimon, Doku himself pushed that arm away, his eyes focused intently on the fight at hand. "I won't be able to help if you keep me off the dirt." As he spoke, he directed his arms towards the ground, vines shooting from his arms, connecting himself and burrowing deep into the soil underneath. "It'll take time, but I should be able to provide something!"
Holly was a support type, right? It helped that she wasn't the center of attention for the moment. Toki's defenses, though potent, might not have quite the effect that he expected: the undeclared 'Howling Crusher' wasn't an effort to attack with the fangs, but rather with those strong, metal claws. Instead of a skewer, both fighters were met with something similar to metal scratching against metal, a hard push on a pin matching a deep scratch in the Saberleomon's front-right claw. The follow-through would likely push the pointed Digimon backwards, leaving the lion grounded as it stared down its prey.
... Which left enough for the angel to once more reach his form as a mega. Called out, the newly-formed Seraphimon would lock his posture, faced towards the Ancient Raguelmon, as seven potent spheres of light danced over his palm. His arm flexed outward, palm aimed right for Holly's center - and each would fling forth, one moment after another, the first aimed towards the other angel-type. The following six would be tracked in succession, simply looking to read Holly's movements, and catch her as she tried to dodge.
Or, if blocked, they would all strike right at the barrier.
"Did she stand down?"
As for Toki? Well, he put himself into more of a supposed 'mirror match' than he perhaps initially expected: the Saberleomon's mane would tighten out into quills, and with the faint sound of air, several fibrous needles would jettison out, as small, thin spikes, intent on striking his adversary like a wide shotgun blast. If it managed to pierce through, Toki would feel a shocking amount of pain, as these poisoned needles would strike on through.
Quills versus quills, defense versus defense - this could become a nasty war of attrition.

With loud, metallic creaks, the drills blocking the Saberleomon's strike held fast as best they could as they pierced into its hide. Toki grit his teeth as he dug his heels into the ground to steady himself as much as possible. "Where did you even come from...?" He growled under his breath as he pushed the enemy away. He kept his quills pointed towards the Saberleomon as he carefully paced and circled around them. "Almost..." he muttered under his breath.
Before he could do anything else he saw them fire quills in his direction. While some were redirected or blocked by his defenses, some of them pierced through. Toki howled in pain as the poisonous quills sent agonizing pain throughout his body. His muscles seized up as he tried his best to remain standing. It seemed like a losing battle to stay on his feet. Then Seraphimon said something he really shouldn't have. "Just let her rest..."
Toki jammed his gauntlets against his afflicted arm and tore out the needles with another shout of pain "Just let her rest, damn you!" In stark contrast of the tranquility his forms usually displayed, this was pure rage and malice. He dug his feet into the ground as he took a stance before he lunged towards Saberleomon "Spiral Form - Shatter...Overclock!" He would attempt to shoulder check Saberleomon and dig the drills against its body. Should the attack connect, he would reach his free hand out and grab at one of its large teeth as he bulldozed his way forward.
With the force of the attack, Toki was trying to lift and carry Saberleomon far away from the city as possible. He would weave the two of them through a few trees and with a violent twist, wrench one of Saberleomon's teeth for leverage to flip them onto their side. "It's going to take a lot more than that to take me down." He noticed that Saberleomon seemed far more feral and wild compared to Seraphimon's composed, lucid state. He frowned slightly "I'm sorry for what they're making you do. You'll be free of this soon enough!"
----
Toki uses Spiral Form - Shatter Overclock to break through any possible defense Saberleomon might put up and attempt to carry it away from the city.
Overclock [Combat Passive]: Stiffilmon’s abilities have an additional affect that can be activated at the cost of increasing the ability’s cooldown by one turn.
Spiral Form - Shatter: Upon taking a ready stance, Stiffilmon aims their quills towards an opponent and dashed forward in a devastating shoulder charge to pierce and crush. Overclock Effect: Completely crushes through a Mega Level defensive ability. [3 Turn Cooldown/4 with Overclock.]

”Oh. Yeah that makes sense.”Holly shook her head and let the mon do his own thing; however the fact remained that she was a purely support type going up against a pair of what looked to be solo instance focus types. Or at least the sorts that could deal damage in a large area. An area inside of the town. A town that honestly didn’t deserve this. However holly was gifted with some clarity as Seraphimon’s attack looked to to hit her dead center in the chest. She had the option to take it; and the other six but that’d probably hurt a great deal. Did she stand down.Toki’s words fell on deaf ears and holly’s expression shifted from the calm and collected to one that was far darker than what it should have been. But in that instant she had erred and wouldn’t dodge all of those attacks. Grunting in pain and she felt some iota of rage spread throughout her body. ”Shut up.”Holly’s voice cracked and that rage seeped through; the jade orbs around her danced as they tried to calm her down with various words that just bounced off. Holly’s signal spiked and she’d bare her fangs; tearing off her mask as she gorged herself on her own energy. But tear off her mask and another would take it’s place, another familiar mask to those that knew the sovereigns. That shade of blue that people could easily recognize and the thunderous roar that came from her throat. Her body twisted, turned and the cracking of light across her frame was impossibly powerful. Like her mother she had something that would take years if not lifetimes to accomplish. It grey time and time again; her fur rippling and the armor sloughing off of her. The leather pieces that made up most of her body warped, twisted and exploded outwards from the sheer force. The following roar of rage was quickly followed by the sound of her armor clanging into place around her ankles and the digichrome spikes that burrowed up from her flesh. ”WHAT SHE DID WAS BEYOND YOUR KEN AND HOW DARE YOU IMPLY YOU ARE ANYTHING LIKE HER YOU GLORIFIED EXCUSE FOR A WEED WHACKER.” Log: -Holly takes seraphimon's attack. Ow. -Holly is are the mad. She digivolves to baihumon! Passives: Iron Lord|Combat Passive: If it is one thing, Baihumon is durable. It's fur being beyond that of natural limits is made purely out of a digizoid fiber of sorts. It's strong to the point of having a heavy resistance[30%] to all forms of damage. At the cost of moving much[30%] slower. Water attacks weaken the fur considerably and disable this passive for three posts upon successful contact.
Charged-Air|Combat Passive: This digimon is putting off a constant barrage of electrical currents into the air. Arcing off of it's fur, the orbs and metal that it's body may possess. This hyper charges the local area that the mon is in. Creating a field of sustained damage to those that come too close. Friendly individuals find that this field deals no damage to them. Deals light damage to any without electrical resistance. If struck by a water attack this negates the passive for three posts. Hundred foot range.
Hyper-Regeneration|Combat Passive|RAM UPGRADE: This digimon is capable of regenerating a medium amount of damage per posting round. Upon being struck with any enemy attacks it is boosted to a heavy amount of regeneration for three posts and then goes on a cooldown of Six posts afterwards. Healing abilities, status effects, defensive abilities or otherwise friendly/unfriendly abilities stall out this regeneration for the duration of effect.
Accelerated Flight|General Passive|RAM UPGRADE: This digimon is capable of super sonic flight outside of combat, breaking the sound barrier multiple times over. Inside of combat it's aerial prowess is what you would expect of an average mystical user. It can't compete with the best of them in terms of maneuverability but it's speed is something to behold.
|RAM UPGRADE GIGA| Jade orbs: A set of seven somewhat small orbs that change in size based on the host digimon's own size.
Move: N/A Cooldowns: Jade orbs: [1/3]

Post by Kenny O'Hara and Skadi on May 17, 2020 0:45:27 GMT
At first, a look of concern crossed Skadi's face as she watched Kitt struggle a little to open his own portal up, but one he did, and once he called out to the audience as well, she looked at him apologetically, rubbing the back of her neck, "Yeah, maybe when we get back, I think we should give you more time to learn the ins and outs of your D-Nexus. But still, you're doing great so far. Keep it up, and I'll be sure to tell Ophi when we get back!" She followed up with a hearty grin to the GrapLeomon, along with an affectionate, if a little rough, slap on the back.
But sadly, they could only bring in so much. The frantic chaos, along with being blamed for a disaster they didn't commit - that hurt. Hard. The only reprieve was that some did go in for the portals, but that wasn't enough. From the sound of things, Toki and Holly did manage to come back in time to help save the day, and the loud, borderline muffled yelling was enough to tell them that all Hell was just about to really break loose.
Just as the nervous Kenny bit his lip in worry, he yelped as the Leomon guard grabbed him by the shoulder, his heart pounding rapidly. He knew that after everything was said and done, there would be a lot of explaining to do, just to clear this group's good name. But the Leomon guard still made a good point; this wasn't just their own lives on the line that could be caught up in the crossfire, if the Monzaemon was a good example.
Still, Ryouta and Valt's words from that day rang in the tamer's head; stay calm, stay collected. Letting the stress get to your head is just gonna make things worse. Despite the stress intensifying, and a bad headache starting to form, the young man took a deep breath, and addressed the Leomon guard, looking up at him with a firm, but patient expression, "We can keep these portals up for as long as we need them to be. Plenty of time for us to bring the immediate crowd to safety over in Ys for the time being until we get this problem sorted."
"I'll tell you the truth about the whole thing later, but for now, I'll tell you we were doing this just for your own safety. Just to protect you all to save you from becoming infected while our friends went out to clear the infection out." Another deep breath just to keep himself calm before he continued, "We'll help out any way we can to keep you all safe. Would you mind if we accompany you to help redirect the immediate crowd here to the portals? Or do you want us to help out with the smaller matters? We'll be fine with either." Skadi gave a small nod to the Leomon guard as well.
Whatever they were directed to, they would help out in any way they could, just to save the crowd from the apparent carnage at hand. If anything, the two of them were just hoping that Toki, Holly, Doku and Angemon were all right. That they had everything under control at this point on leading the threats out of the city for their own safety.
Oh, if only they knew the truth.
Meanwhile, Periperi would grin as the first batch of evacuees went through the portal... then start to sweat as she remembered there would probably be more. Still, she kept a brave face as she addressed the first few evacuees, "Guys, don't panic. Once Kenny gives me the signal, and all of your friends are gathered, I'll lead you all to a safe place until everything clears up. Please don't panic, I need you all to work together!"

Kitt gave a nervous smile in response to Skadi's comment. Even when the situation's dire, she'll always find a second or two to comment whenever someone does a good job on something. But still, now was not the time for compliments. "Thank you for that, but...please save the praises til after we get out of this in one piece," he replied, his smile dimmed into a frown as a few of the civilians made a b-line into the portals. "Let's just get them to safety first."
Unfortunately, due to the chaos, most of the civilians didn't heed their aid. Some of them attempting to go back into the city to try and find their friends and loves one, while a few outright blame them for all of this happening. That hurt a lot. The GrapLeomon could only turn his gaze from them, letting a growl escape from his throat. Hearing that, he wanted to try and reveal what they were doing here, explaining to them that it was only for their protection, but kept his tongue, knowing it would fall on deaf ears.
Just then, the Leomon guard came from behind Kenny, explaining that they have to gather up all of the civilians. To them, they're safety wasn't the only thing that matters to them; it was their homes, businesses, and everything that they've ever earned. Kitt sympathize with them. If it were him, he would ignore the call to safety to protect things that he had achieved. But with the way this battle was heading, it may not even matter.
"Alright, I'll stay here to protect the portals and make sure everyone's safely evacuated." Kitt stated. He turn to Kenny and Skadi. "I think its better this way instead of all of us trying to look around every corner to find stragglers, then escorting them back to the portals -- that's too much."
Grabbing his dual swords, he combined them back into the broadsword and planted it to the ground, as a sign of a declaration. "No matter what everyone thinks of us, and no matter what comes my way I'll protect these Digimon with my life. That's a promise."

'Just let her rest'.
Oh? It seemed that the Seraphimon had managed to catch a nerve, with both Toki and Holly. The Seraphimon raised its arms, seeing his strike land hard on the Raguelmon, his mere words causing her to fumble her block. All it took was that one provocation for Holly to bring herself up to a higher form, that of an enraged Baihumon, staring right down towards the angel with her angered words. But the angel himself did not falter.
In fact, his holy light seemed to build up around him, a clear, divine aura matching the potency of Holly's own, the seraphim keeping his focus on the beast. "If that is what you believe, then come at me. Strike with all you can, to take me down."
The angel baited her. After all, the entire town of Rosewood - her allies, her teammates, and several precious friends - were right behind the angel. One missed strike, one dodge, and it would all be reduced to rubble. The Seraphimon, however, was not held back by the same limitations. His palms were brought together with a clap, a tight ring of light forming in front of his chest. A moment later, several powerful arcs of lightning would strike outward, flicking out like pieces of ribbon, intent on arcing around and sinking right into Holly's ribs, from the left and right! Toki's adversary, on the other hand, was far more feral. The beast of a mega met that shoulder-check with his mane, and as that fang was gripped, would wrench its neck around in an effort to try and bite at Toki's arm.
Of course, the Saberleomon was far less than cooperative than all this: his fangs would dig into the dirt, their exit from the city more of a 'grapple' than a mere lift-and-disengage. The Saberleomon's shoulder was hurt, bruised and left bleeding from impact - but the lion didn't intend to let up. If he managed a bite, he'd be hard pressed to let go, and would even start to try and pull.
Marked as he was, he seemed more like a wild, crazed beast than a malignant one, violent eyes staring right into Toki's own.
Violent - but without malice, without evil. If anything, it saw Toki as nothing more than another wild beast of the forest. "I trust you three are doing the right thing here - though, we are going to have a very loud, heated conversation about whatever the fuck is going on here afterwards."
The Leomon was abrupt, but at this point, his tone was much more reasonable. With the crowd as unruly as it was, the lion stood tall, and roared out: "Everyone, shut up and listen!" The guard growled, and though the crowd didn't snap entirely to his attention, he pointed for the portal: "Keep it calm and orderly. Children and their guardians first - if you're capable of ultimate, hang on and cover for the rest of them!"
It would take a few seconds, but there was at least some semblance of order to the madness - even if the Togemon had to keep a few fights from occurring. And slowly, individual 'cases' made themselves apparent:
A Gazimon, fighting against the flow of the crowd to get back to town, yelling out to find 'Gato'.
The Monzaemon - having seemingly torn out half a wall of a house - looking up on the second story for something important.
And a Dracmon, hiding behind a tree, arms held around a bag, like he didn't want to be found.
Those situations might resolve themselves, and they certainly weren't the only ones around. But could they just let those ride out as they were?
