It seemed this was going to require a bit more effort to drive off the Saberleomon. While he clearly did some damage to it, they were still too close to Rosewood for Toki to even consider going beyond Mega. His gaze locked onto Saberleomon's mouth as it attempted to bite down onto his arm. He struggled to keep holding on, but eventually realized that he was getting nowhere like this.
In retaliation, the drills along Toki's body began to spin up rapidly, which created an almost deafening noise in the air as he pulled his arm away from its mouth before it had a chance to get a good grip. Toki pushed himself away from Saberleomon and met his eyes with the wild, crazed eyes of his opponent. Was the answer as simple as it being a feral Digimon that wandered too close to Rosewood? Or was there something more sinister at play with its presence? Either way it didn't seem to show any desire to talk things out.
The drills kept spinning as Toki's body began to heat up. He took a stance and shouted "Seismic...Boost!" As the drills glowed a bright red aura that soon enveloped Toki's form. It trailed with his movements, which seemed lighter, faster, and more than likely deadlier. However, this put heavy strain on his body which in turn lowered his defense. The trade off for this moment in time, was worth it. Now he was faster and could hit harder. He just had to wait for the opportune moment to strike.
What was Seraphimon's aim here? Was all of this simply for the sake of destruction? The fact that this battle took place in Rosewood too left a bad feeling in Toki's mind. Despite this, he remained focus on his battle even as Seraphimon's lightning crackled along the ground. If he thought angering them would make them forget what was important, he had another thing coming. The city would be protected, and Toki was fully prepared to risk everything to make that happen. Toki started to circle the Saberleomon, his movements light and quick. Whatever it decided to do, he would be ready to meet the Digimon halfway and prevent this from getting any closer to Rosewood.
-----
Toki narrowly avoids getting his arm bitten and activates the ability Seismic Boost.
Seismic Boost: The drills across Stiffilmon's body begin to spin at rapid speeds, emanating a crimson glow. That glow spreads across his body as it empowers him, boosting attack power and speed by 50% for 3 turns, while decreasing defense by 25% for the duration. [3 Turn Duration, 4 turn Cooldown.]
Cooldowns: Spiral Form - Quill Barrier 2/4, Spiral Form - Shatter 1/4, Seismic Boost (3 Turns remaining)

It was her mother. A sister. How could it not catch on a nerve of two people that cared deeply for someone the world seemed to know and so many seemed to drag her name through the mud? How many people time and time again laughed about her mother. Calling her a hero in a sarcastic way; calling others fools for believing in them in the first place? Too many by her count. Too many that the baihumon wanted to rightfully thrash but held her tongue. But here she felt her anger overwhelm her. Forcing her to grow and use a form she knew wasn’t suited to this locale. A locale of peace and prosperity. A place that her mother’s knights held close to their hearts in one way or another; or just decided to defend it with everything they had. She had heard about that incident with the fire mon and the following issues with zephyr from various people. Silence even had regaled the tail about the fire mon and how iko had proven more of a match for that mon. ”T-tch…”It was foolish of her to use her anger to digivolve again; had she learned nothing from the last time? Apparently so. She’d grit her teeth as she saw his move start up; that tight ring was something she didn’t recognize… She might have to talk to some of the angels up in luminas about their varied forms if she was going to end up combating them or fighting with them. Holly growled and started to drop by the time she found the arcs of lightning traveling her direction. They didn’t hit her in the ribs thankfully, only cutting across her back. But now she was in the position to fire an attack at the seraphimon in such a way that would mean even if she missed… the only thing her attack would hit was the sky! Her mouth clanged shut with a heavy growl and she found the energy warping through her body at an alarming rate. Her anger had spiked up her energy usage and she was struggling to even keep it together now. Baihumon just ate through far too much energy! But that energy was powerful and the bright light that shown from behind her teeth only was paltry to what came next. The pure unadulterated beam that made up Hyper-nova-cannon. It was deafening, drowning out all sound around her as it tore towards the enemy that was now angled up towards the sky. She was striking at him with all she could. For the next blow? She had plans. Log: -Holly gets hit partially by the arcs of lightning, gouging out some of her back. -Holly’s regeneration starts to kick in! -Holly uses hyper-nova-cannon to attack seraphimon! Passives: |RAM UPGRADE GIGA| Jade orbs: A set of seven somewhat small orbs that change in size based on the host digimon's own size. They're made primarily out of jade but have several veins of other materials. It's far harder than any normal jade could hope to be and is about as durable if not more than it's host. Inside of the orbs lays a collective AI that is capable of learning and reasoning much like it's owner does. It is named after it's own coloration and it's voice is decidedly feminine. Outside of battle it simply gathers and catalogs information for it's owner's benefit while inside of battle it's devious ability is brought to light.
The jade orbs possess different formations. Three to be specific. Defensive, offensive and supportive. Each formation gives a small boost to the respective grouping. But only ever at 10%. Only one formation can be active at a time and there is a three post cool-down to switching between formations. Defensive provides a damage reduction, offensive increases damage output and supportive increases healing done.
Iron Lord|Combat Passive: If it is one thing, Baihumon is durable. It's fur being beyond that of natural limits is made purely out of a digizoid fiber of sorts. It's strong to the point of having a heavy resistance[30%] to all forms of damage. At the cost of moving much[30%] slower. Water attacks weaken the fur considerably and disable this passive for three posts upon successful contact.
Charged-Air|Combat Passive: This digimon is putting off a constant barrage of electrical currents into the air. Arcing off of it's fur, the orbs and metal that it's body may possess. This hyper charges the local area that the mon is in. Creating a field of sustained damage to those that come too close. Friendly individuals find that this field deals no damage to them. Deals light damage to any without electrical resistance. If struck by a water attack this negates the passive for three posts. Hundred foot range.
Hyper-Regeneration|Combat Passive|RAM UPGRADE: This digimon is capable of regenerating a medium amount of damage per posting round. Upon being struck with any enemy attacks it is boosted to a heavy amount of regeneration for three posts and then goes on a cooldown of Six posts afterwards. Healing abilities, status effects, defensive abilities or otherwise friendly/unfriendly abilities stall out this regeneration for the duration of effect.
Accelerated Flight|General Passive|RAM UPGRADE: This digimon is capable of super sonic flight outside of combat, breaking the sound barrier multiple times over. Inside of combat it's aerial prowess is what you would expect of an average mystical user. It can't compete with the best of them in terms of maneuverability but it's speed is something to behold. Move: Hyper-Nova-Cannon: This digimon concentrates it's energies into it's mouth, creating a localized ball of pure electrically based plasma. It chomps down onto this ball swallowing the energies to mix into it's bodies for a short time. This digimon then fires an impossibly powerful attack, dealing intense damage in a straight line up to five hundred feet. Capable of punching through defensive moves and bypassing resistances even to it's same typing. This move is considered an anti-defensive move. It's standard cooldown is three posts, when used against a defensive move this move's cooldown increases by the same amount as the defensive move used. Cooldown: HNC: [0/3] +[ ]

Post by Kenny O'Hara and Skadi on May 19, 2020 5:14:18 GMT
It was only natural of Skadi to care for her teammates, nee good friends. After all, one of the rules of KIZNA was 'camaraderie is important'. And nowhere was this more important than when they were being misblamed for something way out of their control. But she understood still, and complied. The compliments did have to come later, but to her, even the smallest bit of levity and kindness to others would go a long way. She just turned to her tamer, her face now contort with empathy for him as she could only watch the confrontation.
Meanwhile, Kenny just gave a nod to the Leomon guard nervously, biting his tongue all the while. The feeling that he and possibly the rest of the residents seemed to remain adamant on pinning the blame for all this chaos on them and them alone just hurt. All he hoped for was that when all this was over, Toki and Holly would emerge from the woodworks and clear their names. He trusted Toki. He trusted Holly. And he trusted they wouldn't let them down.
But with the Leomon guard still calling for order, and he and Togemon helping to ensure order lining the masses to the portal, Kenny had to whip up another message on Tamernet quickly, hoping, just hoping, that the recipient would respond in time. His hands shook in panic all the while, and his heart started to pound rapidly, but still, he breathed in and out, just to stay calm.
It could only last for so long. And then he hit send.
Hopefully he'd respond as soon as possible.
With that out of the way, the two would look for the individual cases. One being the Monzaemon from earlier. Skadi would turn to the rest of the group, "I'm going to be taking care of the Monzaemon over there." She pointed to the giant plushie ursine, "You guys stay safe, and do your best, OK? Call me when you're done."
"OK, Skadi, good luck!" He gave a warm smile and flashed a thumbs up to his towering friend. The Markhormon grinned and shot a thumbs up back before walking off. As she disappeared, he turned back to the GrapLeomon, "Kitt, can you help the Dracmon, please? I'll be going out to help save the Gazimon and his friend. I just need a little help with that..."
"Hopefully, he'll come quickly..."
Afternoon lunch was good.
Like Periperi before him, today was also a remarkably slow day for Odin as he strolled around the Ys Trailmon Terminal, currently munching on some sweet DigiNoir from the nearby vendor. It made for like a decent pick-me-up on those days, and a great quick lunch that was enough to satisfy the odd sweet tooth. And what a nice coincidence, he just so happened to spot a familiar face standing there.
The Peckmon gave a friendly wave to the Ludomon,"Hey, Periperi!" He cried as he trotted over to where she stood, "How're you doing todaaaaaaaaa..." His steps slowly slowed to a complete halt and his eyes widened as he bore witness to an odd sight before him. And already, he had several questions.
First, behind Periperi was a pair of giant, swirling blue portals. Second, a swarm of Rookie- and Champion-level Digimon were starting to pour into the station from the portals en masse. And third was Periperi herself, constantly calling for order among the crowd. Frowning, Odin lowered his head, putting himself on the Ludomon's level, "Periperi, what the hell is going on here, and where did you get all those people?" He said flatly, as he gestured a wing towards the crowd.
"Oh, uh, Kenny here told me to lead them. There's been a huge situation over at Rosewood, and he told me to take care of the evacuees for now!" She replied, tapping her clawed fingers together nervously, "To be honest, I don't know if I'll be able to keep them together. I'm gonna call Ryouta-san in a minute, ask if I can borrow Ilbert to send them home when I get the chance, y'know?"
Before anyone could say anything further, Odin felt a small buzz coming from his D-Terminal. Lifting a feathered finger to pause the conversation, his eyes quickly scanned the message, courtesy of Kenny. And even through the rushed, barely legible text, he could still understand what his pal was trying to say:
DrMothman: hlp come to r/w asap plz
"...Excuse me for a minute," He simply said, slipping the D-Terminal back into his pocket, "Kenny needs a little help there." And in that moment, before Periperi could even say anything else, he weaved his way through the evacuees and jumped through one of the portals, vanishing in the blink of an eye.
The Ludomon just stood stunned for a moment, only affording a few moments to blink, before continuing, "Just stay safe, OK?" She called out to him with a wave.
Not a moment later, Odin would emerge from one of the portals, again carefully weaving his way through the evacuees before meeting up with the group, dusting himself off, and looking Kenny in the eye, "So, can you please explain what's going on here?"
"All Hell's broken loose. I'll explain later. I need you to help us now. Can you get me to the Gazimon, so we can calm him down and save his friend?" He explained quickly, pointing to the panicked Gazimon. It wasn't so hard to spot him, considering the grey weasel looked to be one of the only ones running back to the town. The Peckmon frowned once more, before nodding to the boy and leaning down to let him ride him, which Kenny quickly complied, gripping tightly onto his clothes.
"Say no more, kid." He replied as he stood back up, "Just hold on tight, and for your safety, keep your hands and feet on the back of me at all times." Without another word, he would dash off from the rest of the group, and into the swarm of evacuees, starting to give chase to the Gazimon, as the Peckmon too would be slowed by the swarm of Digimon.
"Gazimon! Please, calm down! We'll be able to find your friend and bring the both of you to safety! But we need you to co-operate with us! Please calm down!" Kenny called out as Odin fought to get closer to him. Would he comply? Would he still run in a panic? Who knew at this point? Neither didn't know, and neither would care.
Once Odin and Kenny had come close to the Gazimon, the Peckmon would crane his neck and, with his beak, he would grab the Gazimon by the scruff and put him onto his back, in front of Kenny, before leaping away from the swarm, and into calmer waters. Kenny laid his hands on the Gazimon's shoulders, as he first looked up at the Peckmon, "Odin, can you keep a lookout on 'Gato' for us?"
The Peckmon would give a simple nod, and glanced everywhere he could, trying to find this lost 'Gato'. Meanwhile, Kenny would keep his grip on the Gazimon's shoulders with a firm, but caring look on his face, "Gazimon, we'll help you out in any way you can. Can you please tell us about Gato, and where did you see her last? I'll assure you, we'll do whatever we can to keep the both of you safe. Please, don't worry."
Meanwhile, Skadi would rush to get to the Monzaemon as soon as possible. She paid no heed to the battle. She couldn't get distracted. She wasn't dumb enough to throw herself into unnecessary danger, especially when Kenny wasn't there to help. She had to wait, and stand her ground until this case was finished. And maybe, just maybe, she could give Holly and Toki a helping hand in the fight.
Once she reached the Monzaemon, she would approach him from the back, before putting a hand on his shoulder, "Monzaemon, please, tell me. What are you looking for? I promise that I'll be able to help you as much as I can, and I'll do everything I can to keep you and everyone else safe. But I'll need you to work with me, and when we're done, I'll need you to go to the portals afterwards. Can you promise me that?"

Kitt gave a nervous nod to Leomon's harsh, but understandable point. Even though the guard was an evolution below him, he was still his superior when it came to age and experience. The GrapLeomon stood straight up, bowing his head in response with sweat coming down his face. He wasn't looking forward to the inevitable conversation, but right now wasn't the least of his worries; getting everyone to safety and helping out Holly and Toki was.
The Leomon guard easily grabbed the majority of the crowd's attention, ushering everyone to the portals in a clam and orderly fashion, with the Togemon guard making sure no fights would break out. Kitt silently become awed at the Leomon and how he was able to calm everyone down with just a single shout. It showed that the townsfolk really respected him and trust his words, whereas his and Skadi's pleads fell mostly on deaf ears.
Regardless, with everything in order, noticeable cases began to pop up. Skadi departed to go help a Monzaemon that was attempting to get back into the city. Meanwhile a Dracmon was hiding behind a tree. Kenny asked Kitt to go help the Digimon, in which he gave a nod. "Alright. Be careful, Sir Kenny." he said. With that he quickly departed into a fast walk, gently passing through the crowd and making sure he didn't accidentally push or shove anyone.
Arriving to where the Dracmon in question was at, Kitt slowly approached the tree with a concern look on his face. "Excuse me, Mr. Dracmon?" He called out. "You need to come down from the tree and regroup with the others, please. It's really dangerous to be by yourself." He noted the bag the Digimon was holding tight around their arms. "I know it's really scary right now and you probably don't trust us, thinking we're the cause behind all this, but we're not. I'm asking for your trust, I'm asking to help you to safety."
The GrapLeomon wouldn't extend his hand out or further approach the tree to not come off as threatening, awaiting the Dracomon's response.

Wild. Directionless. Feral.
All were apt descriptions of the SaberLeomon. With the two now a fair distance away from the city, the lion's prior crazed ferocity turned far more focused, the beast staring down what it considered to be an equal. Its eyes carefully glanced at those spinning drills, as the beast tensed itself, digging its front claws into the forest's floor, positioning himself to strike. There was anger and intent in that pose - but no inherent darkness, save for the mark branded around its back.
He didn't understand Toki. And as far as he knew, there was no reason to understand him. As he held is pose, the Saberleomon's frame started to give off a golden glow, much like what would have been around a normal Leomon's fists. But instead of projecting a mere blast from his nonexistent knuckles, that same golden energy would erupt from its entire body - a roaring, gold, ethereal lion surged and 'stood' from the SaberLeomon's back, and tore right off towards the Stiffilmon.
It didn't want to risk those quills, so the Saberleomon resorted to this: the projection would charge forth, tuck in its head, and try to drive itself into Toki's chest - at which point, the energy would lose form, and detonate in a powerful, concussive blast! In all, Holly couldn't come up with much on the spot.
A small motion to partially dodge the attack. A clearly frustrated composure - and a large amount of energy built up in her fangs, aimed towards the angel with the city right behind him. Holly couldn't aim dead-on, but this sharp angle likely wasn't much better: it made the attack predictable, and even if it wouldn't strike Rosewood directly, it would still end up rattling and breaking a lot of windows, tearing up roofs, and it would force those trying to evacuate, to hunker down until the blast passed. And worst of all, it was arguably ineffective.
Even if Rosewood wasn't durable enough to completely withstand the shockwave, the Seraphimon was: all he had to do was 'hit the deck' himself, lowering his stands to drag his knuckles into the dirt. Such a forward, predictable, and purposefully mis-aimed attack would never hit hope.
"Ingrate..." The Seraphimon seemed to growl, as a sharp blade of light appeared from the gauntlet of his right arm. The angel kicked off, as that beam of energy died up above him - and he'd rush right towards the Baihumon, aiming to try and drive his Excalibur straight into the Baihumon's chest or flank, while she was still reeling from that last attack!
"What is your composure, beast?" At the very least, the immediate crowd seemed to be sorted with the guards' help, but there was still the matter of the town itself. And this was likely a time where the mission-goers wouldn't be able to see every story happening, and all they could do was either aid in the immediate evacuation, or help with whatever was on hand.
First was the Monzaemon (X). This large, stuffed animal of a Digimon didn't have the ability to change its expression, kept on an eternal frown as he dug his hands through the top floor of that building. Was this his own house? Was he a really brazen looter, and would Skadi have been interrupting his heist?
... No, actually. His ear flicked at the ram Digimon's words, but he didn't give any verbal confirmation of a response. Instead, both of his arms moved up to carefully grip around something. He'd turn to face the KIZNA member, and would drop off what he had collected right at Skadi's feet:
A pair of scared Bearmon, who had huddled up on the top floor of the building. The Monzaemon's eyes locked with Skadi, giving her a nod, before he moved to stomp his way further into the city - even as that powerful beam roared right overhead. "Gah, the fuck - let GO, you stupid bird!"
MAYBE trying to outright pick up the Gazimon by the scruff of his fur wasn't going to get the best response out of the panicked rookie! As he was put in front of Kenny, the 'mon would brush those arms away from his shoulders, gritting his teeth in a very clear 'I don't have time for this shit' tone.
"... Tch." His ear flicked as that beam roared overhead - the rookie not entirely sure how much time they'd have to banter on like this! "She's a Gatomon - and I'm pretty sure she's still back at our place. Second block down, one to the left, only house with a garden in the front." Indeed, there wouldn't be any Gatomon - or other rookie-sized cats, for that matter - anywhere in immediate eyesight for Odin.
"I'm not leaving without her. So you can either help, or just leave me to handle it, kid." And finally, was the Dracmon. Hidden just out of sight behind that tree, the imp just tried to keep himself level. Right, no-one would be looking his direction - everyone would be too busy evacuating to notice this small rookie, right?
... Oh, god damn it, Kitt. The Dracmon blinked, looking at the natural tone of the GrapLeomon. "Oh, and what's it to you, really? I know what I'm doin' here - " He paused, though, feeling the roar of the energy in the ground, as that wayward attack slipped narrowly over the village - and the imp changed his tune, somewhat. "Look out there, you see? Its mob rule, and I just came down here with my stuff to sell in the market. I thought I'd wait things to die out, and try slipping out through the next Trailmon station to the north once the crowd thinned out a bit... heh..."

It was frustrating that her only attack that she made was avoided; sure it was a powerful attack and ripped off the roofing of the housing but that wasn’t the damn point! She’d glance around; feeling rather bad about what she did.. She also knew that if her dad heard about this… well she definitely was going to get grounded! With that in mind, maybe range wasn’t the best choicce here? None of her forms were really good for fighting in the city. But the seraphimon didn’t have that problem it seemed. She’d grunt as she felt that sharp blade pierce her hide and dive deep into her frame. It hurt to move slightly and she could feel her data quicken as her regeneration fought against the damage she was sustaining. The attack from early was getting worked on but now it had something in her chest to deal with too? Where was her composure? Well it was out the window for the most part at first; but now that she saw what she could do and got a harsh slap for it in her mind. Mixed with the pain of that blow in the chest? Holly’s mind raced and she believed she found a solution. But she needed an opening and she needed for the seraphimon to either be distracted for a moment or… Well. Sovereign’s willing somewhat damaged. ”Forgotten if not for a moment.”Holly quipped as her fangs charged up yet again, with the seraph type so close to her he’d be hard pressed to avoid this. With them positioned so slamming him against the ground with this move would be the best outcome. Her bite hopefully would hit the seraphimon and knock him down beneath her, which would open up to a plethora of options. If it didn’t hit well… She was going to have to scrabble to do what she wanted to. But if it did? She’d try to pin him to the ground! Toki didn't flinch at all as the Saberleomon sent forth a surge of its powerful aura. He was familiar with the Leomon line's signature moves. Their sheer willpower given form. A powerful blast like this could cause some damage behind Toki if it wasn't mitigated in any way. While he had lowered defense in his current state, he had to think of some way to meet this power head on. Thankfully, however, Saberleomon seemed far more interested in fighting Toki than causing rampant destruction.
Regardless, Toki grabbed at one of the drills on his arm as it started to extend and take shape "Vermilion Vortex!" He ripped it out of his body and brought the formed spear down on the aura with a resounding crack against the floor. Whether or not the distance or parting it in half would mitigate the damage to Toki at all, as long as it didn't damage anything behind him, he was satisfied "Overclock!" He dashed forward, spinning his weapon as it glowed with the same red energy as the rest of his body.
He would suddenly use his spear to vault over Saberleomon and quickly looked over its body. As he was in the air, he spotted the mark along its back and grit his teeth. Maybe damage the mark significantly would disperse it? At the very least it might heavily disrupt its data. In that case, Toki dove down with the spear and with a determined shout, attempted to drive the spear deep into Saberleomon's back.
Toki would continue to grip the spear as long as it could, but after its attack it would begin to disperse. Once it fully dispersed, Toki would spring off the Saberleomon swiftly, hopefully before it had a chance to counterattack. With every step, he tried to get it to face away from Rosewood. Holly's battle with Seraphimon raged on and he worried about the potential damage done to Rosewood...but right now, it was fine. That deafening attack may have caused some superficial damage, but windows and rooftops could be repaired. He silently wished Holly luck in the coming battle. They were both going to need it.
-----
Toki used Vermilion Vortex in an attempt to dampen the blow of Pride of the Beast King as well as drive the spear into the mark on its back.
Overclock [Combat Passive]: Stiffilmon’s abilities have an additional affect that can be activated at the cost of increasing the ability’s cooldown by one turn.
Vermilion Vortex: Red spears shoot out of Stiffilmon’s body, skewering every opponent near him in a devastating, crimson display. Overclock Effect: Creates a single, large spear and drives it into a single opponent for massive damage. [2 Turn Cooldown/3 with Overclock]
Cooldowns: Spiral Form - Quill Barrier 3/4, Spiral Form - Shatter 2/4, Seismic Boost (2 Turns remaining), Vermilion Vortex 0/3.

Confused at what Dracmon meant by him knowing what he was doing here, Kitt was about to ask what he meant before the ground began to shake violently. Looking up, he caught glimpses of a powerful blast narrowly missing the city. This wasn’t good. At this rate, there wouldn’t be a city to protect if this battle keeps up. Toki and Holly need them!
Kitt turned his attention back to the Digimon, who explained that he was trying to sell his goods before all chaos went loose, and was now waiting to hop on the next Trailmon that travels north. This caused the GrapLeomon to narrow his eyes. He was holding whatever he was trying to sell tightly. Something about what he said just didn’t sit right. He didn’t seem worried at all about the Digimon attack; he looked rather calm somewhat. That didn’t help with the fact that he was well hidden, too hidden that he would have missed him if it wasn’t for Kenny’s eyes.
“What do you mean by ‘mob rule?’” Kitt asked in a curious yet calm tone. “Mob is just a group of people intent on causing violence and trouble. What kind of mob does business in the market, especially with a city like Rosewood that’s still under construction? Rosewood doesn’t have any mobs of sprees of violence the last time I checked.”
A thought came up. Kitt looked at the bag and then at the Dracmon. “...what were you trying to sell if you don’t mind me asking, mister?” The turbines on his arms and legs slowly stopped spinning, the orange glow around him slowly fading, leaving the two in silence except with the battle raging in the distance.
Seismic Drive duration: 3/3 turns; four post duration begins.

Post by Kenny O'Hara and Skadi on May 24, 2020 8:09:21 GMT
Skadi did nothing to interrupt the Monzaemon's search, apart from letting go of his shoulder, and just watching him. The words of the Leomon guard still rang within her mind, Its not just their own safety these 'mons are worried about, after all - its their homes. Some might not bear what they stand to lose, others have to protect their loved ones. And all she could do was stay on guard as the Monzaemon continued his search, keeping one eye out for any stray bullet, weaponry, projectile, or what-have-you that could easily catch the both of them into the crossfire.
But the majority of her focus still lay upon the giant teddy bear. And she watched as he pulled out 2 fluffy-looking figures and gently lay them before her. Two scared Bearmon. He didn't even need to say anything to her at this point. She knew just what she had to do. She gave him a small nod, "Understood. I promise we'll keep them safe until we get back. You have my word."
Leaning down to their level, Skadi would gently scoop the Monzaemon's two cubs into her two giant, fluffy arms, one for each side in a caring embrace, not too dissimilar to a protective mother and her children. The loud roar of a gigantic laser-beam piercing the skies not too far away made her flinch a little bit, crouching into the earth, shutting her eyes and tightening her embrace upon the pair until it gradually died off.
As she opened her eyes, she glanced to the pair with a calming whisper, "You guys OK?" She didn't even bother to brush herself off as she got off, running back to the stadium as fast as she could with the two cubs in tow, "You're going to be safe soon, trust me. We're going to protect you from the nasty baddies attacking your home, you're going to see your parents again, and everything is gonna go back to normal soon enough. Promise." The grin she shot them was more or less reassuring, but internal worries started to build up inside her head as she ran back to the stadium and to the portals to drop them off safely.
Just how were the others holding up without her?
Normally, this sort of thing Odin just did to pull the Gazimon out wouldn't exactly be his first choice in any situation, but this was an emergency, with ear-splitting roars and immense battle cries mixing in with the general discourse of the crowd, and nasty structural damage that could be spotted by the naked eye. And with the only alternative possibly facing them was that their pleas for him to calm down while he still dug through the flow of the panicked crowds would more than likely simply be drowned out by this utterly crazy, borderline incomprehensible cacophony.
To put simply, desperate times called for desperate measures.
Kenny didn't bother to fight back the Gazimon brushing his hands away. Which, honestly, did allow him to crouch and close his eyes and ears, waiting for the loud roar of the beam to die down, before the two would look at the Gazimon with intent, Odin himself after his brief search came up fruitless. But he didn't need to give them the ultimatum; that panic attack back in the crowd told the two enough.
"And that's why we're here." Kenny started to clarify in a firm but calm tone, "We're not just here to save you, but your friend as well. And we'll do anything we can to help the both of you to safety. Odin? Mind taking us to their house quickly?"
"On it! You guys better hold on though, this could be a bit of a bumpy ride." He shot the two a nod before he set off with them in tow, running just fast enough so neither would be flung off so easily. As noted, Kenny would tightly grip onto his clothes, expecting the Gazimon to follow suit. The location was already crystal clear in his mind: Second block down, one to the left, only house with a garden in the front. The map of Rosewood was already pretty much etched into the mail-bird's mind, so it probably wouldn't take much time or trouble to get there, massive threats already looming over Rosewood notwithstanding.
And all the while, he would keep one eye open for any Gatomon still out in the open.

Forgotten for a mere moment, the lack of Holly's composure might have cost her a lot more. That blade, after all, still remained deep within the faux-Sovereign's body. A mere motion of the Seraphimon's wrist could make this situation a hell of a lot worse for the opposing super mega, and as he braced his left hand over his locked right wrist, he planned to to just that -
"What the..."
As those fangs sparked in front of him, the Seraphimon found himself caught off guard - not by Holly, but from a myriad of vines stretching up from the ground, wrapping tightly around his back and right arm! Several yards away, Doku, still with his roots embedded in the ground, kept a close eye on the fight. A mere rookie himself, he managed to seek the aid of the forest itself, powerful vines briefly rooting the angel in place!
"Tch!" Granted, the Seraphimon wasn't that weak, by any means! He still managed to drive that blade deep into the Baihumon, and by focusing his energy into that blade? Well, it would extend even further than it had before, likely tearing straight through the Baihumon's back. Should the beast manage to keep her composure after that, well, the Seraphimon would brace his left arm up against those fangs, delaying that bite as long as it could... If anything, Toki's spear would cause the powerful burst of energy to detonate somewhat prematurely - but definitely still close enough to the spirit wielder that he'd feel its effects. The sheer energy would be much like a searing flame, especially against his reduced defenses.
Toki wouldn't just block, though: he pressed on with the attack, even taking to the air to try and pin down the Saberleomon! And, this mega-level beast didn't have much to deal with opponents directly in front of him: the mega would backpedal, keeping its eyes trained upward. As that spear landed against his back - right against that mark - he'd give a howl, the beast stumbling to stay on its feet, as the Stiffilmon would slip around behind it.
A dark pulse of data rose from the Saberleomon's back, red trash data spilling out into the air amidst its darkened fragments. It seemed that Toki had managed to disable the mark... but the wild eyes of the beast were still locked onto him. And rather than rely on any strategy or pretense?
The Saberleomon would turn, and tear straight for Toki, once more readying its powerful, metallic claws. This time, it pounced, and tried to use its full weight to put himself on top of his adversary. What did the Dracmon mean by 'mob rule'? The imp scoffed, and gestured right to the portal, and the general state of the city! "Look, you think I blame them? People steal stuff they need and grab 'whatever they can' in times like these... tch." Was this Grapleomon focusing too much on the word 'mob'? The Dracmon thought he was clear enough, himself!
And that second comment really didn't help anything. What exactly did Kitt think he was going to say? 'Yes, its illegal'? And what could Kitt really do about it if what he was dragging around wasn't legal, that wouldn't just add more cacophony to the situation?
"Look, you seem like a good 'kid' or whatever," the Dracmon sighed, "but is this really the time to be worrying about what little ol' me's trying to do?" Then again, considering this entire situation was caused by the contraband of the marks, maybe it wasn't a good idea to leave the Dracmon alone.
What would be the best way to get him to cooperate? Would he ever cooperate, actually? The Monzaemon really didn't need more encouragement to keep doing what he was doing - all the stuffed animal did was give a small wave over his shoulder, as he kept moving deeper into the city.
Right now, it was the two Bearmon in Skadi's arms that needed the help. They didn't know what to do in a time of crisis like this, so they had simply shut down, curling up easily into Skadi's arms, stammering, but calming down somewhat at those words. "Its so loud..."
"Tch..." The Togemon looked on, as Skadi stepped back in with the group. "Those two were still cooped up at home? In that case..." The cactus' eyes briefly looked on the fight at the border of town, still at a standstill. "What we should be doing is finding a way to protect the residential district from anything in that direction. Does your group have any defensive capability for that?" Yes, desperate times called for desperate measures, and the Gazimon was the epitome of 'desperate' right now! He was still tense, and anger still covered his expression for several moments - but honestly, explaining stuff to this human allowed him to calm down somewhat, shaking his head to try and clear it out.
"... She's there, its her day off... she'd have no reason to leave home yet..." The Gazimon spoke, as if trying to convince himself, before nodding and grasping right onto the Peckmon's clothes. Thankfully, the block - though eerily silent - was still largely in tact by the time they arrived. Even for Rosewood, it was a nice, reserved one floor household, and it wouldn't take long for the Gazimon to try the door, and slip a key in the lock afterwards. He'd slip on in, and call out: "Gato!"
... No response, at first, The rookie looked up, to see a few holes in the roof, and swore. "... Did she run out when this place got damaged?" He wouldn't blame her, but the Gatomon didn't know of the overall evacuation effort, yet. That being the case, the Gazimon would lead out to the back, and tried the cellar door.
Or, he would have - if the door wasn't covered in debris and rubble. It looked like the fallen piece of roof had just collapsed right over the entrance to the basement! "... Tch!" And the rookie was right on it, looking over his shoulder at the other two. "You, scan and see if anyone's in there - and you, help me start moving this stuff!"

It burned. Toki's body was on fire from the concentrated energy unleashed by Saberleomon's attack, but he pushed forward with grit teeth and followed through. He shielded his eyes from the dark mist of the data that poured out from the wound. Was that it? He didn't have much time to think about it as he was swiftly swung off the Digimon. The mark was damaged heavily...would it eventually repair itself? Or would the rest of its corrupting data disperse with time? He didn't know. What was he going to do? Would he have to kill this Digimon or was there another way?
Saberleomon was still fixated on him, likely in a wild battle rage from their fighting. Everything was happening so fast, and Toki still had to find a way to help Holly and fast. He could help get Seraphimon away from the city so she could fight at her full potential. This fight had to end soon, so Toki knew what he had to do. Could he pacify Saberleomon? There was only one way to find out.
As Saberleomon dove towards him once more, the fury in Toki's eyes faded as he digivolved in front of it. From the shimmering data, a gentle hand reached out and would go to press against Saberleomon's head "Samsara." The strange otherworldly kindness that emanated from Toki would mitigate the damage, especially from an enemy a stage lower than him now. That kindness would attempt to overwhelm the Saberleomon's mind and force it to think of the aggressive actions it had taken recently. It was Toki's hope that the guilt would calm the Saberleomon, if only for a time.
Tsusagimon...this form felt strange to take again. He felt he didn't deserve to use this form after what happened so long ago, but it pulsed with new power due to his acceptance to use it again. "Please rest. You don't have to fight anymore. You're stronger than this mark. You always were." He said. If this worked, he would be able to assist Holly. Seraphimon had to be stopped no matter what as they were the mastermind of this disaster. At least, that's what he hoped what the situation was.
-----
Toki Digivolves to Tsusagimon and uses Samsara in an attempt to pacify Saberleomon.
Samsara: Upon use, Tsusagimon blocks the damage from an attack used on him. The aggressor feels a sudden guilt for attacking and deal less damage for 3 turns as penance for their aggression. [3 Turn Duration, 3 Turn Cooldown. Begins after debuff ends.)
Cooldowns: Spiral Form - Quill Barrier 4/4, Spiral Form - Shatter 3/4, Seismic Boost (Canceled with Digivolution.) 0/3, Vermilion Vortex 1/3, Samsara (3 turns remaining).

Suffice to say that this fight wasn’t going too well. So far she hadn’t been able to land a solid and clean blow against the angel; the damage of his sword was making it difficult for her regeneration to even handle it. What with the blade being deep in her body. Even going so far as to avoid taking damage to his chest by blocking it with one of his arms. Still hurting and still being right there. The sword in her chest hurt rather badly but given her situation was there anything that she could do about it other than grit her teeth and push on? Or was there another solution that she wasn’t seeing? It was hard to think between the constant pain she was now under and her body literally fighting to push the sword out of her with it’s regeneration. With the seraphimon being restrained by the vines, Holly saw the chance she could take. Or at least saw that she could have an easier time of this. But that’s when she felt something punch all the way through her; and out of her back. She’d cough up a bit of data from this. That really hurt and she could feel the exit wound of the sword on her back quite clearly. While her body was steeled towards attacks from the outside; the same could not be said of the inside. Her bite didn't really have an option; she had to continue it. He was right there after all; so very close so her jaws would slowly close down; and if the seraphimon wasn’t careful well she’d crunch into his arm. The next thing that she had in mind? Well her orbs circled around the two of them and while normally in about any other form they wouldn’t hold any real semblance of active power… Baihumon was quite different. These orbs had some punch to them, quite literally. Lightning danced between them and two of the orbs seemed to condense the energy into finite points. One was aimed at the Seraphimon’s head; from the side. The other? Aimed at his side. The other orbs seemed content to watch what was going on; recording the information for later. No doubt Holly would want to go over this fight; see where she erred and see what she could have done differently… Given the fact that they were right at the front gate, it would be foolish of her to continue using this form. Unless she had a way of evening the fight out or perhaps altering her form to another more suited to fight against this being. Jade couldn’t help but lament her inability to assist holly further. Only able to really record… or in this one instance be a conduit for her power. ”...we need to move this fight out of the city! Sir Seraphimon you should be ashamed for comparing yourself to someone so resolutely against putting the innocent in danger. Would Mrs. K have even considered fighting in this area? If you truly deign to be like her… Then please let us help you. Let us get rid of that mark and bring you back to your senses. You’re not a bad person and I know that you don’t want to do this. If we stop now; the fighting and this mark business… then we can minimize the damage to those that are caught in all of this already.” Log: -Holly really can’t avoid the shishkabab she’s going to become here; ow. -Holly’s regeneration continues to try to mitigate the damage… ⅔ -Holly uses 14 orbs to blast at Seraphimon’s head and side. -Jade tries to convince the seraphimon to stand down...
Move: 14 Orbs: This ability allows Baihumon to shoot a multitude of varying lightning bolts at a target dealing high damage to them within a range of three miles. This requires line of sight or knowledge of the target. These bolts of lightning are strong enough to punch through solid rock, various metals and even scar digizoid. Three post cool down. Cooldowns: HNC: ⅔ Thunderfang: ⅓ 14 Orbs: 0/3

Kitt blinked at Dracmon. With his response, things were starting to click: he was a thief, and the things he had in his bag were items that he stole from the townsfolk, most likely from their homes since the majority of them came to watch his and Skadi’s fight. If it were someone else, they’d be infuriated at that revelation. But to Kitt, he understood why he was doing this.
Many months ago, close to a year now, he lived in that exact lifestyle: stealing from others without their knowledge, selling it off to pawn shops, and collecting enough bits to buy a meal or stay at a shelter for a day. It was a hard life he lived, so he was thankful for meeting those who helped guide him in the right direction, away from that life. But even though the GrapLeomon could sympathize with Dracmon, he couldn’t just leave him there. If he did, not only would Digimon’s life be at risk, but all the valuables that he’s stolen from the townsfolk would be lost if he were to get away.
He felt his patience running thin. Time was of the essence. He had to go and help his friends fast. But after a few moments, a lightbulb lit up in Kitt’s head.
“You’re right, mister Dracmon,” he said, “this isn’t the time. But I can’t leave you on your own. Shady-ness aside, your safety is my utmost priority, so I’ll give you an ultimatum: go with the townsfolk into the portals, to safety, and I won’t tell the guards about your illegal business. And with the situation right now, do you really want to get on Leomon-san’s bad side? Because he’s in a bad mood as is.”
He hopes that Dracmon makes the right decision. Otherwise, he’ll drag him into one of the portals if he has to, or call the Leomon guard here. Brashness, Kitt was going to make sure the imp gets to safety one way or another.

Post by Kenny O'Hara and Skadi on May 26, 2020 6:34:54 GMT
It was only natural that these two young Bearmon cubs would be frightened in a situation like this. As it stood, they looked too young and too defenceless to do anything to even protect themselves from what looked to be massive threats ravaging the city by the second. As she ran, she gently ran her fingers through each of the Bearmon's fur reassuringly.
Thankfully for them, no sort of stray crossfire even came close to the both of them, and soon enough, all three of them would end up right back at the stadium safely. Like the Monzaemon before them, she would lean down, and gently place the two onto the floor, right next to the two glowing portals. "You're safe now, you's two." She smiled at them as she gently nudged them to the portals, "Rest assured that when you guys get back, everything's gonna get back to normal, and the baddies are going to go away. Pinkie promise?"
Before she would get up, she held out a fist towards them, and surely enough, the two Bearmon would be able to spot the Markhormon's pinkie sticking out. And if they complied, she'd happily return the favour towards them. All to reassure them that things would work out in the end.
Hopefully.
After one final nudge to the portals, the Markhormon would turn to face the Togemon as she pulled herself back up, "They were scared. And they're still a little young too. Someone had to go and help them out, before it was too late." She sighed, her eyes drifting towards the portals, "I just hope everybody else is doing well and staying safe, at least..." The heavy feeling from long ago still weighed upon her, and the last thing she wanted to do was repeat the major mistakes from her first ever battle and let her anger control her actions.
Like the Togemon before her, Skadi would also look upon the ensuring battle from afar. Two giant feline Digimon and two humanshape figures could at least be made out from afar. It was hard to tell who was winning, or even who managed to land a hit on what, or hell, even who was who, exactly. But her gut feeling was enough to tell her that they came too close into the city without even the slightest hint of protection...
No prizes for guessing the results.
"As far as I know," Skadi addressed the Togemon in a calm manner, "I can summon a powerful stone wall lined with spikes to help drive off physical attackers. And Kitt? Well..." She scratched her chin a little, "I think he can summon that fancy barrier again like he did back in his Champion form, so he can drive them back with a powerful shockwave. But then again, it looks like this is his first time in this form, ever. I can't really tell for sure. And Kenny also has the Mirror Shield card as well, but... he's not back yet."
"Where do you want us to go? I'll accompany you, if you need it."
Like Skadi before him, Odin and Kenny could easily count their blessing that, despite all the chaos and anarchy everywhere, they somehow managed to stay out of the crossfire, and likewise, the Gazimon's house would also remain (seemingly) in one piece. The two would follow the Gazimon inside, still keeping an eye out for his 'Gato'.
The few scattered holes in the roof seemed to be the only sign of damage so far, possibly as an aftereffect of the laser's mighty roar, but other than that? "Think it's a little too early to say, but I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case, honestly." Kenny simply mused, "Besides, if I was Gato, I'd see myself trying to escape this place rather than hang around here any longer than I need to... unless."
Yep. The cellar door was indeed covered in rubble. Perhaps she was trapped inside. On the Gazimon's orders, Kenny would get to helping the Gazimon with hauling away as much rubble possible, as fast as possible. Meanwhile, Odin would look into every nook and cranny possible within the house, hoping, just hoping, that Gato would show up.
Y'know, before they'd probably all get blown up by the perpetrators?

Could the Saberleomon be pacified?
Potentially not - but thankfully, that was a different question than simply destroying the mark. As Toki took his higher form, the Saberleomon's powerful claw would seemingly almost 'bounce' against the radiant light of that Digivolution, Tsusagimon's defenses far more than the lion could handle. Its fangs grit into a frustrated roar as the Saberleomon backed off, growling as he reassessed his target.
And, in that momentary peace, Toki would be able to get a decent look at the Saberleomon's back. The mark had been pierced straight through, a wound left straight through where it once stood. Those dark lines continued to peel off, trash code floating slowly above the beast in a small, purple light. As for Toki's words?
They might have been lost on the beast, but the intent was not. Perhaps Toki's exact meaning wouldn't have been picked up by the beast, but the Saberleomon just returned a low, frustrated noise, and took the moment to shake out its fur. Embers from its last attack danced and fell from its mane, and a moment later, the Saberleomon would dart off into the woods.
... Well, far be it from anyone to tell a wild cat what to do, anyway. The Saberleomon was feral through and through, and likely only drawn into this whole mess by the direction of another, perhaps as a decoy to distract from the true culprit. Speaking of, Holly really wasn't doing the best at the moment! With a blade wedged straight through the Baihumon's chest, Doku grit his teeth and tried to hold the Seraphimon as best he could. Doku might have asked the forest itself for help, and he might have been the one to construct Ebonwumon's defenses, but a stop-gap like this wouldn't hold forever!
With that blade straight through the Baihumon's chest, Seraphimon would twist his right arm, and intentionally break off the energy sword deep inside of the opposing Super Mega, leaving it embedded straight through Holly's frame. This now left his right arm free - to both drive a fist up against Holly's jaw, and to bring the arm right around his chest, and tear away the vines keeping him in place! Doku would feel the lost tension, falling backwards as the fines snapped, swearing under his breath.
But, that left the angel open enough to take his first real bit of damage, that powerful electric current spreading right through his body! His fists tensed, the angel forcing his open palms and knees against the ground to diffuse the electrical current as fast as he could. Marked or not, the angel was experienced in combat, entirely mirroring a lesson that a certain Devidramon might have taught the Meicoomon at some point.
That wasn't to say the attack didn't do damage, of course: smoke and steam rose from the Seraphimon's armor, as it groaned back into place. But Jade's plea seemed like it fell largely on deaf ears... especially with where the Seraphimon was.
Point-blank range. A wounded, 'open' spot on the Baihumon's chest. The odds that this would be mitigated a second time were next to none: the Seraphimon brought his palms together, seven orbs of light appearing between them - and he sent them surging out, to barrage Holly once more with its signature attack, perhaps from only a mere few feet away! Well, the Dracmon being a thief was still an assumption. He could have been peddling illegal or illicit substances, been transferring hot money, or perhaps he just really, really didn't trust anyone as far as they could throw them.
'Why can't he leave me on my own'? The Dracmon's thoughts echoed largely on his head, and with a defeated sigh, the imp threw the bag over his shoulder. "You really want to waste this much time on me, eh? Fine, kid, but if this comes back to bite me in the butt, I'm going to make it a point to personally 'make it up to you'."
He chuckled, but for the moment, he'd follow right along. Perhaps it was a sudden change of heart, perhaps he just saw an opportunity in Kitt's offer of confidentiality, or perhaps there was something else going on under the hood. It would at least give Kitt time to likely regroup with Skadi, who was still talking things through with the giant cactus.
Yes, the surreal nature of the Digital World was still in full force. The Bearmon would, indeed, return that little 'pinkie swear', their claws gently wrapping around the Markhormon's own - before they would run back off through the portal. There might not have been smiles on their faces, but at least the two were safe. And with this small group back together, the Togemon considered Skadi's efforts to defend.
"A stone wall... we'd have to put it closer to the fight than to the city, or the debris itself might cause problems. But I'm not about to complain about what we got: set up about halfway, and do the best you can to put up whatever barricade you can. Its better than I'd be able to do with cactus spines..." Oh, that crunch against time could definitely be felt by everyone here! The Gazimon would try and get as much of that roofing - heavy, awkward, broken shingles that didn't even stay rigid as he tossed them away - and he'd wait to hear if Odin managed to pick up on anything.
But, thankfully (and not thankfully), he didn't have to wait long to hear a response: "Gazi!" A muffled voice passed right through the cellar! "What's going on out there? I thought there was a storm or some kind of monster-"
"N-never mind that Gato, we're gonna get to you!" The Gazimon smiled, his tone kind for the first time since they started. "Hun, get yourself as far back from the door as you can, alright?"
"You mean - ugh, fine...""
The Gazimon sighed. He stood up, rolling out his shoulders, nodding over to the Peckmon. "I'll match you, as best I can. Let's just blast the door open!"
